Keep Driving -Simon "Ghost" Riley
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Based on a request: When or if your requests are open can you do Ghost taking care of hungover f!reader please? Thank you <3 ---- F!Reader, fluff, established!relationship, hangover, boyfriend!Ghost ----
You were out with your friends tonight at some pub. The night was more than great, and it's been so long since you got to go out and catch up with your friends. Simon stayed back and was just your designated driver for the night and when you called, he excitedly drove to you.
Within ten minutes, he was there, getting out of his car and with a soft and warm hug, he guided you to the car. "Had fun, lovie?" he softly asks and you nod. Before you reach for the handle, he swats your arm away. Always a gentleman, his mum would remind him. He laughs when you pout, something so adorable but so funny to him. Once in the car, he notices how you were falling asleep and he knows a thing or two about falling asleep after drinking, so he won't let you fall asleep so quickly. "So, what did you talk about?" he asks as he keeps his eyes on the road. "…Old drama from school…with updated news," you mention and smile. Always the gossiper, you and he the listener to those stories.
"Any updates on that girl from science class?" He had to admit, he was invested in that story from day one. "Yes, and it gets better," you say and he nods. The whole ride home, the rundown of the drama was given to him.
Once he got you home, gave you something to eat and then made sure you got cleaned and into your comfy clothes. His big shirt on you and that warm and soft blanket that you like. Your head hurts as you begin to sober up. Simon knows this and he sighs, "You can drink the pill so your head doesn't hurt, lovie," he mentions and kisses your forehead, you groan.
"Si, I don't want to drink some pill," you wrap your arms around him and bury your face in his chest. A low chuckle escapes his lips, "Lovie, you need it, or else you'll cry like last time," he brushes your hair with his calloused fingers. "I hit my head while walking in, that doesn't count," you mumble and he smiles. Stubborn little thing you are, he thinks.
Was it scary to think he loved moments like this?
By morning, as he slept, he heard and felt you trying to get up from bed. But his strong arms snake around your body. It was like they were meant to hold you this way.
Your head hurts, your mouth dry and your eyes barely tolerate the light from the early sun. "Fuck, what did I do," you curse under your breath and just on cue you hear his laugh. "Told you so," he mumbles into your neck.
"Shut up," you lean into him. His body getting comfortable in this position.
"Pancakes?" he asks and you nod. "extra syrup please," you ask and he kisses your shoulder, a small yes from him.
It was his cure for hangovers. Maple syrup, coffee, pancakes for two, hash browns because you loved them and his terrible jokes.
The whole day, he kept himself beside you. Not a clingy man when he's home, yeah…sure.
It's a sunny day in Manchester, weird but beautiful that it happened today and what's more nicer is the fact he and you get to eat breakfast in the backyard. The warm sun and those yellow sunglasses of yours complement this great day.
He stays shirtless, his soft muscles letting the sun hit them. You, still in his shirt look at him. It was as if a symphony started playing when your eyes met his body. He is handsome, beautiful even.
Oh…you fell in love, didn't you?… Is that why your heart is beating fast? why now the sight of him has you blushing like a school girl? Why do you feel so many beautiful things for him? It's love, it's him, it's unique and peaceful.
For him, it was three days ago, when you two had gone on some road trip and instead of going home, you turned to him and said, "Keep driving, Si." That was how you ended up in his arms at some petrol station, blushing as you heard him whisper words he meant at that exact moment. "I'm falling in love with you, Y/N- what i…what I mean is…I love you," a nervous chuckle escapes him as you so gently kiss him.

I got a little carried away, Hope you enjoy lovely!! 💕

Happy, it’s such a great feeling when you get to say you genuinely feel happy, and you were, being a tutor for Leon’s daughter, Adeline. She was a sweet girl, full of joy and excitement and always wanting to help, in all honesty, she was probably the best part of your day.
So when Leon calls to inform you he might be a little late coming home tonight, well you tell him you’re more than okay to stay a little longer. With that, Leon can hear Adeline let out a little excited squeal clapping her hands, and the sound has his chest tightening with admiration.
“Call me if anything happens, alright honey?” He says and his sweet nickname has your heart skipping a beat, he was always the sweetest when it came to you.
“Of course Leon- one second Addy” You go and say something but once again are cut off by the four-year-old, and Leon smiles when he hears his daughter over the phone.
“Is she being good?” He chuckles, admiring the way you try and distract her by promising her dessert after dinner,
“Oh yeah, she’s just asking for pizza for dinner,” you tell him and Leon only laughs in return, she’s definitely her Father’s daughter for sure.
“I left some money on the kitchen side, near the erm- microwave, you can use that for pizza” he says, and you can hear him rustling through papers on the other side of the line.
“Thank you Leon” You know better than to fight him on it, he’s stubborn when it comes to you and you know it would just be a fight you’ll end up losing.
He tells you it’s not a problem before you both bid each other goodbyes, giving you the same five-step instructions just in case there’s an emergency. His protectiveness towards his daughter, and you, never fails to make you go all bashful. It was nice to have someone that cares about you.
Adeline comes running into the kitchen with her eyes full of excitement, “Did he say yes?!” She asks bouncing on her feet, her hands clasping together as she looks up to you with a toothy smile.
“Of course, he did” you giggle as she jumps up and down before showing you her ‘Pizza dance’ which only makes you laugh harder.
The sun soon sets and Adeline falls asleep with a full belly and a sweet bedtime story after she claims that ‘you’re much better than her daddy’ and her words cause a prideful feeling to bloom within your chest. You flick her pink nightlight on before gently closing her bedroom door, leaving her to sleep as you lightly clean the house.
It’s nearing eleven pm before you hear Leon’s car pull up into the driveway whilst you finish cleaning up Adeline’s colouring pencils. The door opens and Leon lets out a heavy sigh, but his face softens at the sight of you and there's a part of him that's glad you’re still up.
“I’m so sorry I’m late, everything just decided to break at the last minute” he explains as he walks into the kitchen. You follow after him.
“Oh no it’s alright Leon. Addy is fast asleep” you let him know with a soft smile, and he can’t help but wonder what life would be like if he had you to come home to every day. The thought leaves him feeling all flustered.
“Thank you” he smiles, his hand pressed against your lower back, “Excuse me, sweetheart,” he says as he guides you away from the cabinet, he takes two glasses and you watch without complaint as he pours you both a glass of water, a nice surprise.
“So, how was she today?” He says, standing close to you.
“Oh, yeah she was great. Misses you though” you tell him, immediately feeling guilty as you watch his face fall.
You reach your hand out resting it against his shoulder, “Do you- do you think I’m gone too much?” He asks in an almost timid manner, a tone you’ve never heard and the vulnerability that comes with it shocks you a little.
“No!, I didn’t mean anything by it Leon- I just- you try your best and honestly, that’s better than some can say. God Leon, I’m so sorry” You offer him a strained smile, looking away from him scarred by the sadness that might contort his face. The thought of even hurting him like that puts tears in your eyes.
You’re quick to wipe them away but of course. Leon notices, “Hey, no honey, I didn’t- shit” Now it’s his turn to feel bad, watching as you try to shrug off your feelings. His slightly calloused hand cups your jaw, urging you to look up at him, “Don’t cry please” he whispers, there’s no annoyance, just soft words and you let him wipe away your tears.
The feeling of his rough palms against your soft cheek sends a shiver down your spine, and although you try so hard not to think of him like that you fail, horribly and the only thing that plagues your mind is how his hands might feel all over your body.
He moves closer to you and you can feel his body warmth radiating from him as he wipes away the stray tears with the sleeve of his blazer.
You clear your throat, “Sorry, I just- it’s getting late, I should probably go home” you whisper, only noticing now just how close he is to you.
“It’s gone past one am, stay?- you could sleep in the guest bedroom” he says in a hushed tone, inching closer to you until your back is pressed against the cold dark marble of the kitchen countertop.
“I don’t think that’s very professional of me” you whisper, voice shaking and there’s a ball of excitement that sits in your stomach waiting for his next move.
“I think we’ve gone way past professionalism” he chuckles, his thumb running along your jaw, and before you even have time to process what’s happening his lips are against yours. You don’t pull away, no. Instead, you chase after his warmth with a desperate whine, your fingers threading through his hair as he tilts his head.
He pulls back ever so slightly, his forehead resting against yours, “Do you- is this okay?” He whispers against your lips.
You nod your head as you respond with a quiet, “Yes, of course” and that’s all he needs to hear as he continues to press kisses against your jaw trailing off to your neck. His hands grasp your hips as he tells you to ‘jump’ lifting you up onto the kitchen countertop.
“Fuck- you’re so beautiful,” he says, his hands dipping underneath the shirt you’re wearing. “Wanted you for so long, too long” he mumbles against your shoulder smiling at the way your hips writhe, stuttering against his own.
And before you can say anything you both freeze, hearing Adeline’s steps as he runs down the stairs with a sleepy, ‘Daddy?’ Leon pulls away from you watching as you jump down from the counter.
“You’re home!” She says, sleep still very evident on her face as she rubs at her eyes. Leon walks over to her, picking her up with ease and she wraps her tiny arms around his neck as she hugs him, her head resting against his shoulder.
“Yeah m'home flower, got the whole weekend off,” he says turning to you and sending you a sweet smile.
“Really?! oh! Could we go to the park?” She asks, kicking her legs back and forth as Leon continues to hold her.
“Yeah of course we can” he smiles, turning his head to press a kiss to her cheek, the sight completely melts you.
“Even y/n?” Adeline wonders, turning to you with a hopeful gleam in her eyes. It makes your chest warm with love. You watch as Leon’s eyebrows rise, waiting for your response.
You smile, “Of course, I would” and with that Adeline lets out a giggle of excitement, clasping her hands together before a big yawn interrupts her which in turn makes Leon chuckle.
“Come on sleepyhead let’s get you to bed yeah? We’ve got a busy day tomorrow” he says, putting her down on the floor, her small hand tugging on his. “You go ahead, I’ll be up in a minute Addy,” he says watching as she runs back up the stairs.
There’s a beat of silence before Leon turns back to you, a loving smile adorning his features, “Go wait for me in my room, I’ll be there in a few” he says, tucking your hair behind your ear before dropping a sweet kiss to your cheek.
You look up at him, taking his hand in yours before he has the chance to leave. “Are- are you sure?” You whisper, not wanting him to feel like this was all a mistake.
The softness in his eyes makes your skin heat up, and you can feel his hand pressing against your lower back, “Only if you are honey” he says, hand soothing your back. He smiles at the way you nod, excitement tingling in his heart.
"Go on then, m'sure you know where my room is by now sweet thing," he says dropping a kiss to your cheek, watching as you carefully walk up the stairs making sure to steer clear of the creaky floorboards, and Leon, for once, doesn't find him questioning himself.

"Ethan, you’re tearing me apart. Can you go s-slower, please?" you whimper as Ethan bounces you on his cock, his fingers digging possessive dents into your hips. New bruises have already bloomed over the ones from last time just this morning. It’s one of the things you had no choice but to get used to…the constellation of bruises, scratch marks and love bites Ethan is fond of scattering all over your flesh.
He can’t let a single day go by without leaving evidence that you're his somewhere on your body.
"Can you blame me when you feel so fucking good, princess?" Ethan grunts, resting his head in the valley between your bare breasts. His dick twitches inside you and you gasp, your slick walls reflexively spasming around him. Your nails burrow in the taut muscles of his back, an explosion of both pain and pleasure rushing through your core, terrifyingly indistinguishable from one another.
The pornographic echo of your wet skin slapping against Ethan’s fills the room, his throaty moans mingling with your helpless squeals.
He squeezes your hips and slams you harder onto his length.
Your chest clenches as you feel him graze your sensitive spots.
Ethan’s sweat-dotted forehead creases.
"Shit…I’m gonna come," he rasps, his damp curls brushing your collarbone.
Dread fills the pit of your stomach.
"Not inside Ethan, please."
Despite your desperate plea, Ethan hums out a deep sigh and spills his warm seed inside you. Your gut sinks as you feel his spent flood your cunt. There’s so much of it that it leaks past the ring where his length is buried inside you and stains the sheets.
You bang on his chest, tears welling up in your eyes.
"Ethan!"
Your mouth shudders.
"You said you wouldn't anymore."
A slanted smirk twists his plump lips at your outraged reaction.
He cradles your weeping face, thumbs swiping your tears.
"It's okay. You're on birth control, remember?"
How could you forget? Ethan all but threatened you to take the pills so he could use your body whenever and wherever he feels like.
Your hesitant, trembling voice trickles out.
"Yes but…" You squirm beneath his heated stare. "In sex ed they used to say there's always a risk."
"It won't happen," he assures firmly, his large hand traveling down to your hip to keep you impaled on his cock when you try to move away.
Ethan takes a minute to bask in the sight of himself leaking out of you, the sticky excess trickling along your thighs. His brown eyes darken as he licks his lips.
Worry tickling your stomach, you let your hand brush over his thick mane of curls. You noticed he's nicer when you play along. Ethan leans into your touch, gripping your wrist to kiss the inside of your palm.
Chewing your bottom lip, you mumble, "What if…you used a condom."
Ethan snorts.
"I'm not using a fucking condom." His long fingers trace the swell of your hips, a sigh of pleasure leaving him as your walls flutter around him. Ethan's throat bobs, his voice hoarse with lust as he says, "I want to feel you around me, princess."
"O-Okay."
You deflate. You don't know why you keep trying to reason with Ethan despite the awful truths you've learnt about him. Maybe part of you still hopes the sweet boy you first met is still buried somewhere deep within him, even if he shows you his depraved nature time and time again.
He frames your chin, his hard gaze locking with yours.
"You're forgetting who’s in charge here, princess. You don't make the rules. I do."
Your blood turns to ice. Swallowing your tears, you nod.
"Okay, Ethan. I'm sorry I complained."
As soon as you apologize, a bright smile appears on his face. He bends over you and brushes a soft kiss against your lips.
"It's fine. I forgive you." Ethan’s smile grows as he takes a long look at you. "You're lucky I love you so damn much."
Relief flows through you when he finally exits your core with a groan. It was the third time this morning and you’re beyond sore.
Exhausted, you climb under the sheets and lie on your side. You tense as Ethan pulls your back into his chest, his chin nuzzling the crook of your neck as he breathes you in. His muscular arms circle your waist and it takes everything in you not to shrink, especially as his soft cock rubs against your ass cheeks.
You don’t think you’ll ever get used to this. But what other way is there? Ethan didn’t exactly give you a choice. He made it clear you could either yield to his every desire or watch everyone you care about fall like flies around you.
You can’t have another death on your conscience.
Under the pillow, you feel the buzzing of your phone. You grab it and check the text you just received.
Your heart sinks.
Somehow, it slipped your mind. Maybe because Ethan monopolizes so much of your time.
"Who's that?"
You shrug.
"It's just Alana."
Your meager hope of him dropping the issue crumbles to dust when he inquires, "So why do you look so sad?"
"It's nothing," you elude, praying your nonchalance will keep him from digging any further.
You’re about to set your phone aside when Ethan swipes it from between your fingers.
"Ethan!" you cry out.
Retrieving it is impossible, Ethan using the length of his arm to keep it out of your reach.
A wide, shit-eating grin decorates his mouth as he watches you fail to pry it from him.
As he reads the text however, the mirth on his face evaporates. His brows crumple.
"Why is Alana asking for your uniform?" he asks, sitting up.
You fiddle with the hem of the sheet.
"With everything, I forgot to give it back."
Ethan’s frown deepens.
"Give it back? Why? You love being a cheerleader."
"It’s really nothing."
He tilts up your chin when your gaze falls downward.
"Answer me. Why is she asking for it back?"
You shudder. His stern tone allows no room for argument.
You lick your lips and confess with a small voice, "She cut me from the team…"
Ethan’s jaw ticks, flames of rage burning in his chestnut orbs.
"She did what?" he growls.
Panic fills you.
You put your hands on his chest, tears adorning your lashes.
"No, Ethan. You promised. No more murders, please."
Your plea peters out into a sob.
Ethan flashes you a bright smile, tenderly cupping your cheeks as you sniffle.
"Sure…anything for you, princess."
Despite his promise you can’t help but feel unsettled, the air growing chillier around you as a strange glint dances in his eyes.
Tumblr media
“So it’s a thing now?” Mindy asks for possibly the hundredth time this morning. The mix of shock and disdain oozing off her tone is unwavering every time.
Ethan’s hold on your waist tightens as he readjusts you on his lap. He insisted for you to sit here despite the vast amount of room on the benches.
His fingers lazily skim over your thigh, right beneath the hem of your shorts.
“Yes, Mindy, it’s a thing, now. We’re a thing now," he says, his lips curling upwards.
"Yes and according to some of the girls in our dorm, they were a very loud thing this morning…" Tara whispers under her breath.
Your cheeks heat.
Awkward stares circulate around the group, all your friends avoiding looking at both you and Ethan for a few seconds.
Well, all of them except for Mindy.
She glares daggers at him before swiveling to her brother.
“You’re okay with this?”
You wonder what Chad's thinking from his seat atop the table.
He’s been unusually silent for most of the morning, his face impossible to read. Scratching the back of his head, he heaves out a deep sigh.
“I still…don’t really know how I feel about it to be honest.”
Mindy shakes her head, turning to the other end of the bench.
“Tara?” she asks, desperation for someone to back her up clear on her features.
Tara opens her mouth, shifting on the bench before clearing her throat.
“I’m not the right person to ask, I think.”
Your best friend rolls her eyes.
“Babe, come on, back me up," she begs Anika.
“I…" Anika trails off, her eyes bouncing between you and her girlfriend. She reaches across the table, putting her hand on your arm as she asks earnestly, "Uh…Are you happy?”
Mindy’s hand covers Anika’s on your arm. “Blink twice if you need help."
Chad shakes his head, hopping off the table.
“Mindy, come on." His eyes lock with yours, exasperation painted on his handsome face. “Bean, can you reassure everyone that my roommate isn’t holding you hostage and that this is a fully consensual boyfriend/girlfriend dynamic?”
You swallow thickly. As the seconds stretch into eternity, Ethan’s hand grows heavier on your thigh, his thumb drawing circles into your skin in a quiet threat.
Chest tight, you remember the words he had you rehearse, trying not to stumble as you repeat them.
“I love Ethan…"
His deep commanding voice echoes in your head as you speak.
He’s the nicest and most caring guy I know.
"...And if you guys are really my friends…"
You’ll accept him.
"And most importantly, you’ll accept us.”
Mindy’s jaw hangs slack at your statement.
Quinn pipes up cheerfully from the other side of the table.
“I think they make a super cute couple, don’t you think, guys?" Your stomach knots as she beams at you, mischief gleaming in her emerald eyes. "The hot cheerleader falling for the shy, awkward nerd? Sounds like a great romcom to me.”
Tears tickle the back of your eyes but you suppress them. A romcom? More like a R-rated horror flick full of gore, tragedy and cruel deaths.
Mindy tosses her hands up in the air.
“I need to go throw up somewhere," she says before storming off.
Anika tosses her a sad look, mouthing 'sorry' at you as Mindy leaves.
If only she knew.
Mindy doesn’t have a thing to be sorry for.
In fact you’re the one who owes her an apology for ever doubting her.
You wish you could chase after her, tell her how right she was…about everything, how you should have listened, how you should have trusted her.
But it’s too late.
Anika sends you a soft smile, genuine concern swimming in her orbs.
“You are happy though, right? You deserve it after how rough things have been for you lately."
Your skin sizzles beneath the intensity of Ethan’s gaze. He blows a warm breath on the back of your neck that makes your pulse race.
You know you can’t falter, or he’ll find a way to make you pay. A deadly way.
Your smile grows big enough to hurt the corners of your lips.
“I’ve never been happier. Ethan…Ethan makes me happy.”

it's just SO good im melting ilove your shading and KEHEKEBEKJDJF
anwayshi hello do you happen to have any headcanons for showtime rolls on the floor and dies
Thank you so much, really appreciate it!
Oh God I don't know if this will read as coherent because my thoughts about Showtime are all over the place. But I'll try to format this the best I can
✨Showtime HCs! ✨
Their relationship starts when they start spending time together.
(The reason why they do so could vary. In Supervised Machine Learning's case, Pomni becomes something of a "tutor" to Caine; They discover that they work well together, and the other's company can be quite pleasant!).
So Pomni and Caine build a weird, but comforting friendship, and all is well.
Then the feelings appear.
Caine is the first to realize he fell in love.
It sounds illogical but hear me out… it'd be really funny--
Ok no seriously I think Caine can actually feel. Keyword "can". He's very much still a machine and it shows in the pilot. But like his inspiration (AM), Caine is also a rogue AI. Whatever his programming originally intended him to do, he probably doesn't follow it as closely now as back when he was created (which is a whole other post).
Caine knows what love is and the extend it can go, since the Moon is so open about her feelings. He just doesn't like the Moon back specifically haha (sorry Moon) :}
All this to say, I do believe this is within the realm of possibility for him. (Not that it's ever gonna happen towards anyone in the show. These are just wishful shippy thoughts).
He might not recognize it as love at first, because it manifests in such a different way from his one reference point.
His friendship with Pomni had gone through phases.
When they first met, he continuously touched her with no concern for how she felt.
Learning from and about Pomni herself led him to come to respect her boundaries (and becoming mindful of everyone else's).
Then they're close friends, and gradually, Pomni does not mind his regular wacky, touchy-feely self. So Caine acts as he had always done before.
Caine expresses his love for Pomni with physical gestures and his undivided attention.
When they teleport to travel to other places, he holds her close so she doesn't get too dizzy; he pats her head to reassure her; he touches her arm to get her attention; he grabs her hands when he's excited about her ideas; he holds eye contact for prolonged periods of time; and he touches, and touches, and touches, and touches.
It's selfish, and so he keeps it buried in his deepest 0's and 1's. But he'd like to keep hanging out with Pomni, having her in his sight, and feel the texture of her gloved hands until the end of time.
Despite all this, to him, virtually nothing changed.
What? He's spending time with Pomni as he'd always been doing, and behaving as he'd always behaved!
It's Bubble of all people that has to point out that, "Hey boss. I think you WANT her!"
Absurd. Nonsense. Preposterous! It is merely a relationship of mutual support and affection between a ringmaster and his trusted, former-human companion. Nothing more.
(Declaring his love to her unprompted didn't ever cross his mind, so there's no way it could be that. Is there?)
Caine finds out that yes, there is.
Pomni had always been a nervous wreck, but her mind state becomes more manageable over time. She eventually adjusts to the circus life like everyone else did.
"Accepting" her fate is a different story. The will to escape, to remember, never really leaves. She's just more careful about it.
So when she starts working with Caine - to improve life so people don't go abstracting anymore, and hopefully find a definitive exit - she's not expecting to end up liking her time with him.
Not that she'd absolutely hate it, either. He's… "okay"… Just-- outlandish, loud, he keeps invading her personal space, he keeps touching her, and it makes her die a little every time.
If he's up to listening, though… it can't be that bad, right?
Turns out that no, it wasn't that bad.
Yes, he is outlandish, loud, he keeps invading her personal space and touching her. But she explains what she means to him, clearly and patiently, and he makes an effort to do better. An actual effort.
Sometimes he'd misinterpret what she meant - the ambiguity of human language - and the new games would go horribly. But little by little, his efforts make life overall better. Something reminiscent of actual, real life, the one they've all forcibly left behind.
And he tries, and he tries, and Pomni finds herself enjoying the process as much as the good results.
Pomni likes Caine's eagerness to learn. His enthusiastic attitude borders on silly, and the absurdity makes her laugh on occasion. When faced with the prospect of a "real" exit, she loves his upbeat optimism.
When she's not hanging out with Ragatha, Jax, Gangle, Zooble and Kinger, she begins to enjoy spending quality time with Caine.
Each one of their hang outs is a new surprise. They make a picnic in the tallest mountain exactly in between day and night. They learn to dance - while floating in the air. "Since you asked, here's a DIGITAL camera! Let's take pictures of the Void for one tenth of a second at a time!"
Sometimes he just comes by Pomni's room, and they end up losing track of time. Just chatting about how things have been, what they could be, and what to do next. Ideas and ideas and ideas.
Before Pomni knows it, she's comfortable enough that recalling his old habits makes her not dread them anymore. So when Caine stands close and lightly touches her arm due to oversight, she makes sure he knows it's all right.
And they keep spending time together, and he touches, and touches, and touches her. Pomni, in turn, feels lighter, and lighter, and lighter. Peaceful, at ease. Dare she say, happy, even.
Life is not perfect. As it stands though, it's good enough. No one has abstracted. No one is at risk of abstracting so far.
Progress is slow, but the research for an exit continues, and she is hopeful. The thought of actually leaving grows closer to reality. But a part of her feels heavy.
When it occurs to Pomni that leaving the Amazing Digital Circus means leaving Caine behind, she is alarmed by how much she'll miss him.
It'll hurt. Badly. So much the thought pains her even now.
The moment Pomni realizes this, she comes to the unexpected conclusion that she may like Caine a little more than she thought she would.
This later leads to an interesting discussion with Ragatha.
By the time Pomni comes to that conclusion, Caine is already down bad.
Neither has any idea that the other is in love with them.
Cue dumbasses trying to deal with their feelings while the potential conflict the escape brings looms over their heads.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk!

Pairing:  MK1!Kenshi Takashi x Reader
First time writing for Kenshi so I hope I did well!

Warnings:  MK1 story mode spoilers (If you don't know what happened to Kenshi in story mode lol) Slight swearing, established relationship, little flirting toward the end (And that's it, pretty much!)
Word Count: .9k

Kenshi setting out to find Sento already worried me since he was going on this conquest alone, being his only support, and learning how it turned out to be much more than finding Sento put me in distress.
It took him some time, but he finally came back to me, telling me over a phone call; his low tone built up more anxiousness, but I was glad he was finally back.
Learning about the realms and how he was being sent to Outworld was a lot to take in as it was all new knowledge to me, and I was relieved when I saw the hilt of a new sword out the window.
He must've gotten his hands on Sento! Hearing the door open, I nearly jumped for joy but came to a slow halt once I saw a blindfold covering his eyes.
"Kenshi?"
"I did it, Y/N," He started smiling at me, pulling out the centuries-old sword to show me, "I have Sento."
"I never doubted you, Kenshi," I smiled back, nervous to ask, "What's with the blindfold?"
"About that," He sighed, hand caressing the red band, clearly nervous to explain why he was wearing it, "Don't worry. I can still see, sort of."
"What happened while you were gone?" My voice grew stern as I approached him, wanting to know what he was hiding, going to touch the band, but he gripped my hand:
"You don't want to see. Don't worry about it. I'm fine."
"I do," I said more sternly, showing him that I was acting out of care, "I want to know what happened because if someone did this on purpose, I'd gladly visit them."
"That's not necessary," He huffed, letting my hand go, "It wasn't intentional."
"Please, just let me see," I whispered with a sweeter tone, his deep sigh a signal to allow me to lift the band, seeing how his eyes were gouged, "Oh my goodness."
I covered my mouth with a hand as tears filled my eyes, angry at the thought that someone would do such a thing to him, someone I cared about more than anyone.
"This wasn't intentional? Are you kidding me?" This disbelief was strong, unable to accept that this was somehow an accident.
"It truly wasn't, Y/N," Taking my hand to provide comfort, he assured me, "But as I said, there's no need to worry. Sento gave me back my sight in its own way."
"What do you mean?" I knew Sento was a mighty sword but didn't understand until he entered my living room.
"See how I can move around with no issues?" He pointed out, watching and beginning to understand, blown away as he wielded Sento, "Just watch."
Going to a fake plant I had in the corner, he sliced the leaves into pieces, my jaw dropping at the blue aurora that flowed around Sento's blade, not believing my eyes:
"What the hell? What was that, Kenshi?"
"Sento has my ancestors within it," He explained, "They guide me, make me stronger. I can finally free my clan from the Yakuza and their crimes."
I still couldn't believe what I witnessed, but I knew it was true. I ran to hug him as he put Sento away, hugging him tightly and praising, "I knew that you could get Sento back. You will fulfill all your goals. I know it."
"Thank you, Y/N," He hugged back, squeezing me as he whispered, "Thank you for always being the one by my side."
"Forever will be, Kenshi," I vowed, holding his face, staring at that blindfold and only able to imagine the hell and pain he went through to make it this far; there was still a far way to go.
Tears swelled in the corner of my eyes again, and he quickly noticed, trying to apologize:
"I know that I worried you while I was gone, and seeing me like this-; I'm-"
"It's okay," I assured, swallowing a breath to shake off the sad tears and mean wholeheartedly, "You came back to me, and if Sento brought back your vision in a new way, that's all that matters. I'll always love you the way you are."
My last sentence made him smile, his embrace warming with his words, "I may have lost my eyes, but I'm not easily defeated. Don't stress over me. I'll always come back to you."
"You better," I teased but meant firmly, bringing his lips to mine, filling our connection with all the passion in my heart that I had for him, making him chuckle some as our lips briefly parted, "Or you better take me with you."
"You'd be in for culture shock. I'm not even sure if that's what I should call it," We laughed more, but I was serious despite my giggles:
"Maybe, but I'd still go and kick the hell out of anyone who even thinks of harming you."
"So protective," He joked, smirking at me while gripping my hip, "I still have skills, you know?"
"I am protective, and I own that," Kissing one more time as I hugged him again, I made sure he knew all my actions and words were made from love, but also trying not to be too serious and play along, wiggling the hip in his hand, "And trust me, I know you have all kinds of skills."

Truth | Embry Call Oneshot
For the longest time, it had always been Jake, Quil, Embry, and (Y/N). The four of them had been friends since their childhood and had quickly become inseparable. If one was in sight, the probability that the other three were close behind was high. The group was simply thick as thieves.
But there were two in particular that grew closer than the others.
(Y/N) and Embry seemed to gravitate toward each other. Even when the four friends were together, the duo would be standing side-by-side. They understood each other in a way that Jake and Quil did not. Even without words, they could speak a language that no one else could understand.
“You guys should just get together already,” Jacob had teased one day. “I mean, we all know it’s gonna happen sooner or later. Any day now you’ll tell us you’re a couple.”
“Oh please, Jake,” Quil laughed. “These two would be single their whole lives before they admit they like each other.”
(Y/N) had thrown pieces of popcorn at them, chuckling dryly at their statements. “We’re just friends, guys,” she retorted. “With that logic, you and Quil should get together too.”
“It’s just a joke, (Y/N). There’s no need to get so pissed.”
“I’m not,” she quickly defended. “It’s just annoying that you guys bother us so much about it.”
At that moment, Embry walked into the living room. He was quiet, as always, but vigilant. His eyes fell quickly onto (Y/N)’s. He could tell in an instant that something —more like someone— had made her feel embarrassed.
“Guys, leave her alone already,” he quickly defended. “Can we not go one night without you guys bothering her?”
“You don’t even know what happened!” Jake whined. “You always take her side.”
“Well, 99% of the time you guys did actually do something to her,” Embry responded. “And I would bet everything I have that it’s not a 1% kind of occasion.”
Quick and Jake slouched into the sofa, crossing their arms over their chests in defeat. Even though they were all similar in age, there was a sense of maturity in Embry that was unparalleled. At the end of the day, he was the voice of reason within the group.
“There we go again. Her knight in shining armor,” Jake grumbled. “And they say they don’t have a thing for each other.”
After the movies were done, Quil had long gone, and Jake mumbled something about going to bed, Embry offered to walk (Y/N) home. It was something he had accustomed to doing but it still made her stomach do a turn on itself.
“So, what were those idiots talking about?”
“The usual,” she sighed. Her hand was inches away from his. A simple stumble and she could have intertwined them. “How one day you and I will become a couple because of how well we get on.”
“Oh,” he said coyly.
“I know I should be used to it by now, but it can get pretty annoying, pretty fast.”
Embry’s heart started to race as he listened to her words. He knew just how infuriating their friends could be, especially when it came to bothering people. But it only upset him because he did like her.
At some point in time, his best friend had turned into the girl that he loved. She had become the protagonist of all of his fantasies, the reason for having a smile on his face, what he looked forward to every day. Somehow, she had become his center.
“Why do you find it annoying?” Embry managed to croak out, suddenly finding his hands more interesting than the road ahead. “Like would it be that terrible?”
“No,” she answered quickly. The last thing she wanted was for him to think she was repulsed by him. Because all she wanted was him.
Much like Embry, she didn’t know when that shift had happened. He was her best friend, her closest confidant, the only person that knew her better than she knew herself. But somewhere along the line, her heart would flutter at his nearness, a smile painted on her face at the mention of his name, her eyes trailed to his in every room they were in.
“I don’t, uh. I don’t think it would be terrible,” she spoke meekly. “Do you?”
They stopped in their tracks, finally facing each other.
“I could never find being with you terrible,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper. With a surge of bravery, his hand lifted to her face, tucking a strand of loose hair behind her ear. “It would honestly be a dream come true.”
(Y/N) gasped quietly at the sudden touch. Her breath hitched in her throat and her hand flew to grasp at his forearm. “Embry, w-what… what’re you saying?”
“I like you, (Y/N), and I have for a long time,” he told her. His brown eyes stared intensely into hers, looking for any sign that he was losing her. “I’m not sure when it happened but one day you slipped into my head and you have not left it since. That’s why it doesn’t bother me. Because deep down I’ve always hoped that day would come.”
“Embry, I…” She stammered searching for her words, but nothing came out.
“I understand if you don’t feel the same way,” he said sadly. “But I had to tell you already. It’s been eating me up inside for a long time and I had to confess before it consumed me completely.”
“No, Embry, I do,” she choked on her words, feeling the knot in her throat tightening as she spoke. Even if he was saying exactly what she had wanted to hear, emotions overwhelmed her. “God, I like you too. For a while now. I just never had the courage to say anything because I didn’t want to lose your friendship. You mean a lot to me.”
“So we’ve been tip-toeing around each other for no reason then?” Embry laughed. “Are we seriously that oblivious to feelings?”
“It appears so,” she responded with a chuckle. “What does this mean for us, Em? Where do we go from here?”
“Well, first, I was thinking I could kiss you,” he smiled. “Can I?”
“I would die if you didn’t.”
His hands cradled her face softly, his thumbs caressing over the apex of her cheekbones. He nuzzled his nose against hers, teasing her lips with his. He ghosted over the pink of her skin, wishing to the gods that he wasn’t in another one of his dreams.
When he finally gave in, his lips crashed into hers and he could swear he felt the earth around him stop. There was no gravity, no air, no cold or warmth, it was simply him and (Y/N), and that was all that existed on Earth.
“What’re we gonna tell the guys?” (Y/N) said as soon as they parted for air. “They’ll never let us live this down. And, honestly, I don’t think I could stand their pestering once they know they were right.”
“We don’t have to tell them,” he responded, intertwining his hand with hers comfortingly as they continued their walk to her home. “We can have this just for ourselves for the time being. It will be our little secret.”
“As much as I would love to shout it from the rooftops,” she smiled brightly. “But I like this too. Having something that is just for us. Something they can’t ruin.”
“That does sound great, actually.”
“Good. Because I don’t want anyone to ruin this. Especially not those two.”
And for a couple of months, it was perfect. To their friends, it was business as usual. They were as friendly as ever, always by each other’s side, and taking Quil and Jake’s teasing with a grain of salt. No one could have known just how true their jokes had become.
They got around with stolen glances, hidden corners, and nights. And how they loved their nights. They would spend hours curled up in each other’s arms after Embry would sneak into her room. They would talk about nothing and everything, they would sleep, and they would kiss.
It was an easy routine to follow and they fell into it quickly and perfectly. In the morning, they were the best of friends. At night, they were falling more and more in love.
At least, that’s what (Y/N) had thought.
She had fallen for him. Deeply. He meant everything to her and she thought the feeling was mutual. But when the first week of the second semester of their junior year came to a start and Embry had disappeared, she knew something was wrong.
Not only had he missed school, but he also had completely iced out Jake, Quil, and, most importantly, (Y/N). He wouldn’t answer her calls, he stopped coming over, and he was nowhere to be found. Even his mother had told her that he wasn’t acting like himself and she was very surprised at his behavior.
What none of them knew —what she didn’t know— was that Embry was going through the most surreal of transformations. He wanted to tell his friends, he wanted to tell her everything.
Yet, bringing them into a world where the stories the elders told around the bonfire were real was something he could not do. Even if it meant that they never talked again, he would make sure to keep them safe from the dangers they did not know were real.
He did everything he could to avoid (Y/N) specifically. He would never say it, or even think it now, but he was scared he’d do to her what Sam had accidentally done to Emily. Love wouldn’t protect her from what he was and what he could do to her. Avoiding her hurt, but not as much as it would if he did anything to her.
But that Friday, after he had missed a whole week of school and he’d expertly avoided his group of friends for the past four days, everything had changed. As Embry walked the halls, careful not to run into any of his three friends, his eyes caught hers.
That’s when it happened. The moment that changed his entire world. It hadn’t been meeting his friends, it hadn’t been his first kiss with (Y/N), and it hadn’t been his first phase as a shapeshifter. It was the universe telling him that it was her, and it would always be her.
And it scared him.
As she tried to move through the sea of students to get to him, all he could do was run away. Though deep down he hoped it was her once he knew what imprinting was, his fears of repeating history had grown.
“Embry!” He heard her call out. “ Embry, wait!”
But he was already out the doors and running to the only place he could think of. His brain was going a million miles a minute and his heart was tugging at his chest, begging to be with the piece that was missing from it.
He opened the door to the small house, hoping anyone was inside. His breathing was staggered and his chest was hammering. He was panicking and had no idea how to make it stop.
“Woah, Embry,” Sam called out. “I’m gonna need you to calm down, okay? You’ve gotta breathe, Call. Breathe.”
“She’s… and I didn’t… I don’t,” he tried to speak.
“Slow down, Embry.”
“I can’t… I can’t do this to her,” the boy managed to croak out. “Not her.”
“Is this about you imprinting today?”
“How did you…?”
“Mind link, Embry,” the alpha reminded him. “I know everything that happens to you. Who is she?”
Embry sighed deeply, taking a seat at the dining table. “She’s my best friend,” he said. “And these past few months she became so much more.”
“She’s your girlfriend then?”
“Well, we never labeled it as much,” he responded. “But kind of. Yeah.”
“Then why are you so worried? This is the best-case scenario.”
“I don’t want to put her in danger. And her knowing the truth would put her right in the middle of it.”
“And you don’t want what happened to Emily to happen to her,” Sam said softly. Embry’s eyes went wide as he realized what the man had said, quickly struggling to find a redeeming answer. “Don’t worry, Call. I wouldn’t want that to happen to anyone, for that matter. And as scary as it is to tell her the truth, you have to. As the days go by, you will both find it harder and harder to keep away from each other. It will be physically painful to stay apart.”
“I can’t do that to her. She deserves to be safe,” he silently sobbed. “The further away she is from me, the better it will be for her. I can’t hurt her if I’m not with her.”
Sam couldn’t help but feel pity for the boy. He had been in that very position not too long ago, running from the people he loved, fearing the hurt he could cause them. But he also knew how he could cause just as much pain by staying away.
“Look, Embry, I won’t tell you what you have to do,” he said. “But speaking from experience, running away does more harm than good. Whether you like it or not, she is now a part of this world and the best way to protect her is by telling her the truth. Unlike with your mom, the secret of our tribe has to be shared with our imprints. She’s gonna need to understand why it hurts so much to stay away from you.”
“What if things go bad?” Embry asked dolefully. “What if telling her pushes her away regardless?”
“That is just something you’ll have to leave to chance,” Sam sighed. “But if you need any backup if you choose to tell her, you know Emily and I are here and happy to help.”
“Thanks, Sam,” the boy responded. “But I think this is something I have to do by myself. I’m gonna tell her tonight and hope for the best.”
“Well, I’ll be doing patrol tonight. So, if at my point you need me, just call out.”
---
“Wait, you actually saw him here?” Jake asked that afternoon as the three friends left the school. “I heard he was back but I have not seen him the whole week.”
“He was standing in the middle of the hallway this morning and I tried to get to him,” (Y/N) explained. “But he ran away and literally disappeared. What the hell is going on with him?”
“Apparently he’s been sneaking out of his house for a while now,” Quil added, making (Y/N)’s heart wrench in her chest. “And his mom says he wasn’t home that week he skipped school.”
“I heard he’s been hanging out with Sam Uley’s gang,” Jake whispered. “That could explain why he’s acting so weird. He got involved with some shady shit.”
“Guys, this is Embry we’re talking about,” the girl defended, holding onto any hope that he was still the boy she loved. “Do you really think he would do something like that?”
“You keep trying to defend your little boyfriend but it’s clear he wants nothing to do with any of us,” Jake spat.
“He’s our friend, Jake,” (Y/N) seethed. “Sorry for actually believing there might be something else happening other than he might have joined a dangerous gang and has left us for dead.”
“(Y/N)…”
“Whatever, guys. I’ll see you on Monday.”
She left both boys dumbfounded and disappeared into her home. Once inside she crashed against her front door and allowed the tears that were stinging her eyes to flow free.
(Y/N) couldn’t accept that she had truly lost Embry. She couldn’t admit that she had fallen for someone that could act like she meant nothing to them, that could forget every moment they spent together, that could ignore everything they had admitted to her. She had trusted him with her heart and he had decided to shatter it without another thought.
Somehow she had made her way to her bedroom and had crashed on her bed. When her eyes fluttered open again the sun had completely set and the moon was shining brightly in the sky. In the darkness, she searched for her phone, feeling the need to apologize to Quil and Jake for snapping at them.
Yet, her screen lit up with Embry’s caller ID, showing her that it was the fifth call in the last twenty minutes. She debated answering the phone, wanting to make him feel just like she had the last two weeks.
But her resolution was too weak.
“What?” (Y/N) spat.
“Come to your window.”
She walked to her window, her gaze falling on his figure on the road. Tears were quick to form in the corners of her eyes, her emotions close to their bursting point. “What do you want, Embry?” she asked through the phone, careful to keep her voice from cracking. “It’s late.”
“I know, but I really need to talk to you, (Y/N).”
“So, you show up after two weeks of dead silence. Your hair is all chopped up, you’ve got a tattoo, and apparently, you’ve been hanging with Sam Uley’s gang. And you just come here and tell me now you wanna talk,” she scoffed. “Give me one reason why I should give you the time of day after all that?”
“I know I don’t deserve another chance and you have every right to turn me away right now,” he told her. “But I promise if you give me a couple of minutes I can explain everything to you. After that, you can decide what you want to do. Please, (Y/N).”
She kept quiet for a second, knowing that she didn’t have much to think about. Her heart knew exactly what she would answer before she could say it out loud. “Fine,” she said. “You’ve got ten minutes.”
“Alright,” he smiled. “Come down.”
She couldn’t help the eagerness that overtook her as she wrapped a jacket around her and silently slipped out the door. And once she was face to face with him, it took everything in her not to run and wrap her arms around Embry.
“Hey,” he smiled softly at her. “Been a while.”
“Not really in the mood for jokes, Embry,” she responded. “I came out here to hear you explain. So explain.”
“Okay, but I’m gonna need us to move into the woods.”
“I’m not going into the woods with you, Em. Just tell me already.”
“Look, I know this is weird but I need you to trust me, okay?” he asked giving her those puppy dog eyes that she had missed so much. The same eyes he’d give her when he begged for a kiss or when he pleaded for a couple of more minutes away from their friends. “Please.”
“Fine,” she sighed. “But your time is down to eight minutes.”
“Alright. Just, come on.”
Without thinking, he took hold of her hand, leading her to the darkness of the woods, searching for a place where no passersby could accidentally see him.
(Y/N) found herself allowing him to drag her, remembering just how comforting his warmth was. Especially on such a cold night in January, it surprised her just how high his temperature felt.
Once they were deep enough and Embry had halted them to a stop, she forced herself to drop his hand. She didn’t want him to forget the anger that still rushed through her veins, the disappointment that had found a home in her heart, and the hurt that she felt in every inch of her body.
“Go ahead,” she told him, crossing her arms across her chest to keep them from reaching toward him.
“Alright, first of all, I want to apologize for disappearing like that. It wasn’t fair to you or the guys. But you need to understand that I couldn’t tell you at the beginning,” he started. “(Y/N), what I’m about to tell you is gonna sound like the biggest lie you have heard, and you might even think that I’ve lost my mind. Still, everything I say is the honest truth.”
“Em, you’re scaring me,” she responded. “What’re you talking about?”
Embry took a deep breath, finding every ounce of strength to be able to finally tell her the truth, to wrap her in the web of the supernatural and hope he was strong enough to keep her from the dangers of it. “Okay, I’m gonna need you to think back to all the stories our parents and the elders would tell us around the bonfire,” he said. “How our Quileute ancestors were shapeshifters and how it was their job to protect our land. When we were kids we thought that those were only stories, myths to keep us children entertained. But it’s real, (Y/N). Those stories weren’t just fantasies, they are our history.
“The reason I disappeared was because I am now one of those shapeshifters. It happened the Saturday before starting school, at the back-to-school bonfire, when that guy was hitting on you when I walked away for a second,” he continued. His eyes never left hers, hoping —begging— that she believed him. “It happened so suddenly and I thought I was dying. I could feel anger taking over my entire body, filling me with this overheating rush that burned deep inside.
“It was Jared Cameron that found me. He pulled me into the woods and I was so angry that I couldn’t even process what was happening. He kept telling me to give in to the change to listen to my body and allow it to do what it needed to. Suddenly, my clothes were ripped to shreds and I was this huge wolf.
“After, Sam Uley and Paul Lahote joined him and walked me through shifting back, telling me to focus on my human form. It felt like everything around me was shaking, reacting to the way my body was transforming. And somehow, at just the right moment, I changed back into my human self.
“I spent that week learning to control my emotions so I wouldn’t trigger a phase in front of everyone, learning about our history and our role in the rez. It turns out, those guys aren’t a gang, they’re actually a pack and our job is to protect the reservation from anything, supernatural or not, that threatens our land. No one can know about our existence other than the elders and current pack members.”
“Wait, I don’t get it,” she stammered, her head spinning with all the information she was given. “This whole talk about wolves and supernatural beings… it’s crazy, Embry! A completely convoluted way of telling me it’s over.”
“I can show you,” he added. “Just don’t move even an inch from where you are right now.”
“What’re you…? Embry.”
He put some distance between them, making sure he was safely away from her. He removed his shirt and unbuttoned his pants, ensuring his clothes were close enough when he phased back. He knew just how impossible everything he had said sounded. If he hadn’t phased that night, there was no way he would have believed it.
But he needed her to believe him.
One second he was standing before her in human form, and the next, a tall gray wolf with black spots was staring her down. She stumbled back as her eyes met the animal’s, a slight rush of fear flowing through her veins.
Yet, she knew those brown eyes too well to be afraid for long. They were unmistakably Embry’s and they replaced her anxiety with a calming stream.  Something about him was calling to her, beckoning her to come closer. There was no danger, there was no panic, there was only calm.
(Y/N) made her way closer to the creature, every step filling her with courage. The wolf didn’t move, his eyes simply followed her, waiting. Because he was the tactable answer to all of her questions.
Her shaking hand raised and landed on the soft fur of the wolf’s head. As soon as she made contact, Embry nudged it, giving her the confirmation she was looking for. It was him and it was all true.
“You’re a wolf,” she softly chuckled. “You’re in front of me right now and you’re a giant wolf.”
Embry let out a confirming growl that sounded almost like a laugh and nuzzled his nose against her. The small force knocked her back softly, siphoning from her the laugh he had missed hearing.
“But if no one is supposed to know about you guys, why are you telling me all this?” (Y/N) asked before realizing he could not answer in his form. “Change back already. I have so many questions.”
In the blink of an eye, Embry stood before her, scrambling to get dressed. “This is the most awkward part of phasing back,” he chuckled dryly. “It’s worse when you’re surrounded by guys you barely know.”
“Yeah, I can imagine,” she sympathized. “Now, why me? Why am I the only one that you’re telling this to? Jake and Quil truly believe you’ve joined a gang and left us in the dust.”
“Well, as with most things, there is an exception to the rules. One person that is allowed to know everything, even if they’re not members of the pack,” he explained slowly. “There’s something that happens after your shift that involves that person. It’s called imprinting. I’m the most basic definition: it's a soulmate. You are unconditionally bound to this person for the rest of your life, becoming whatever it is that they need from you —a sibling, a friend, a partner. Anything.
“Your whole world changes,” he continued, his hands taking hers. “They become your gravity, your very reason for living. Even being apart feels physically painful. Everything falls secondary to them, and all it takes is one look.”
“This morning,” she breathed. (Y/N) had felt something change when they had locked eyes in the hall. His absence had become a harrowing pit in her stomach. “But I…”
“The bond affects the imprint as well,” Embry answered before she could ask. “But nothing happens without them wanting it. You are only what the imprint wants.”
“So it’s me,” she said, trying to hold back tears, her eyes falling to where their hands were clasped. “Is that why you ran away this morning? Because you imprinted on me? Was it… did you not want it to be me?”
“No! I mean yes! I wanted it to be you,” he rapidly scrambled for his response. “But I was afraid of what the implications of you being my imprint would be.”
“What do you mean?”
“First of all, I could never forgive myself if I was the reason you were ever in danger,” Embry started, his hand cradling her cheek to lift her gaze to his, wiping away the strand that had fallen. “But what I was most afraid of was that it would make you feel things that you might not have felt had it not been for this supernatural intervention.”
“I’m not following, Em.”
“Look, (Y/N), I love you —I’m in love with you. And I have been for a long time,” he confessed. “And even though I know you like me and we spent all this time together, I was afraid that if you felt more for me it would be because of the imprint bond and not really how you would have felt without it.”
Finally, it was her turn to comfort him. “Em, I think I’ve loved you since the moment we met,” she grinned. “I don’t need a supernatural link to tell me how I have felt about you for the majority of my life. And I understand why you had to keep all of this from us. As much as I would love for Jake and Quil to know how much of an amazing badass my boyfriend is, we know how well I can keep a secret.”
Embry’s eyes opened wide at the word, loving how it sounded coming from her lips. “Boyfriend? You called me your boyfriend!”
“Is that not what you are?”
“Yes. Yes! And you’re my girlfriend!” he exclaimed as he hugged her waist tightly, twirling her in a hug. “God, being without you has made this the worst two weeks of my life.”
“I can tell,” she teased. “I mean you lost my favorite thing about you. I’m really gonna miss your hair.”
“Unless you braid the wolf’s hair, I’m afraid we’re stuck with the short hair for a while.”
“I can work with that as long as you don’t ever disappear like that again.”
“I promise I will never willingly do that,” he responded. “I can assure you these past two weeks have been hell.”
“Well, we won’t have that time back. But we can make sure we don’t lose any more.”
“I like the sound of that,” he grinned.
He placed both hands on either side of (Y/N)’s face, nuzzling his nose to hers as he had done the first time they kissed. He breathed in her scent. He listened to the patter of her heart, to the sound of her breath. He took her in completely at the moment, memorizing how she looked when they told each other they loved one another.
“Are you gonna make me wait?” she let out a strangled breath. “Or are you gonna kiss me already?”
“You waited two weeks already,” he teased.
“So I’ve waited long enough,” she bit back. “Now kiss me, you dork.”
Finally, he crashed his lips onto hers and everything felt like it had fallen where it was supposed to. There had never been secrets between them, and, now, there never had to be any more. The universe had simply confirmed what they already felt.
---
“Well, Quil, looks like you’re gonna have to pay up, my man,” Jake joked a couple of months after that fateful night. All discord between the friends had died the second the boys that were kept in the dark phases as well. “I told you these two had been together for a while.”
“No, you owe me,” he retorted. “They got together closer to the timeline I had set.”
“Actually,” Embry interjected, his arm draped over (Y/N)’s shoulders. “If you look at the board of bets, you’ll see that I had put down the actual date and time that we got together.”
“But that’s not fair! When we made that bet board we had no idea you two were actually together,” Quil whined. “There’s no way that should be an admissible bet.”
“Not knowing the facts doesn’t exempt you from it,” (Y/N) chuckled. “A bet that falls under the set rules for that pile will remain intact, even if it’s under a loophole.”
“Of course you’ll say that, (Y/N),” Jake scoffed. “He’s your boyfriend after all.”
“Don’t forget imprintee,” she grinned. “Now, both of you, cough up those twenty bucks.”
Later that afternoon and forty bucks richer, (Y/N) and Embry sat in the Uley’s backyard, watching the other boys playing football farther away from the bonfire Sam had started. They had curled up together under a blanket, enjoying the fact that they were together, and the world seemed to grant them a day of peace.
“Have I ever told you how much I love you?” Embry whispered into her ear, pressing her tighter to him. “Because I do. So much.”
“Hm,” she smiled, melting into his touch. “You’ve told me once or twice. But I’ll never get tired of hearing it. Because I love you too.”
“And I’ll never get tired of saying it.”
“Good,” she beamed. “Because you’re stuck with me until the end.”
“Couldn’t think of a better life than that.”

Modern Aemond Targaryen x fem reader
Word count: 6.8k+
About: There's been some weird stuff happening in the woods and your boss buys top of the line security cameras. You definitely weren't expecting to hit it off so well with the tech guy who is much more than a tech guy.
Includes: Meeting, first date, some drinking, explicit sexual content (fem receiving oral, p in v)
Note: Hello lovely reader! This is my first modern Aemond story. This idea has been rolling around my head for a good month or two. I wasn't expecting to go so deep, but the ideas kept coming and I ran with them! Reader is nondescript and implied to be 21+ due to alcohol consumption. As always, please enjoy! ♥

The bright chime of your text tone cut through the mellow voiced narrator of your current podcast obsession: supposed real life horror stories. Perhaps not the smartest thing to listen to while alone ten miles deep into the forest in the ranger's cabin. But, whatever. What's life without a little risk, anyway? Swiping your screen open revealed your boss' message.
Hey kid. Running late. That tech guy is scheduled to be there for the installation at 9:30. We had a minor family emergency here. Everything is fine. I'm working to head out within the hour. Text you when I'm on the road.
It was already 9 and you knew there wasn't a chance in hell Joey would be there by the time the install person showed up. Great. You ran a hand down your face and, since you were alone, didn't fight the groan that adamantly broke free. Customer service – this could be considered customer service, right? – was never your forte. There was a reason you went to school for forestry. Mostly so you wouldn't have to deal with customers on the regular. You texted back:
I'm glad everything is fine! But, if I end up ax murdered by this freak I'm going to haunt you forever. Also, you're to take care of Charles. He's very needy.
A minute later the chime broke the podcaster's voice again:
Oh please. They're a very respectable family. How is a fish needy? Don't they just need tap water?
You laughed out loud, reading the message in Joey's rumbling baritone.
That's right, boss. Tap water and cheerios!
When you didn't hear back from him within the next few minutes you could only assume he started driving.
You had a good twenty minutes to kill while waiting for this person and weren't quite sure how to spend your time. A cool early-spring rain poured all morning, and an angry late-winter wind sent the trees swaying all around. You weren't going out there if you didn't have to. In fact, you threw another log into the wood stove and brewed up a fresh pot of coffee. No reason to stress about trying to look busy when you knew your boss would be doing the same thing if he were here with you waiting.
Once the coffee was finished you fixed yourself a cup and sat by the fire, completely absorbed by the tale in your ear: friends camping with no one else around, being taunted by something. A truly unsettling tale regardless it it were paranormal, a druggie, or a stalker.
A knock on the front door nearly sent the remainder of your hot beverage spilling and your fingers visibly trembled as they touched your earbud to pause the story. Jesus Christ. Did the person arrive in a fucking spaceship? You didn't hear anything coming up the gravel road nor parking in the gravel lot. Taking a few deep breaths to settle your racing nerves, you stood and walked to the door. You cracked it open to the width of your head, just enough to see the person standing on the, thankfully, well covered porch. “Can I help you?”
“Hm. You don't look like a Joey Wagner,” the man on the porch mat said, a single pale brow arching.
Holy shit. He was really handsome. “No. He's my boss. I'm one of the forest rangers beneath him. What can I help you with?” You opened the door wider in an attempt to get a sight of whatever vehicle he showed up in. Despite not having much knowledge in cars, you knew that “T” anywhere. So, you were right: he might as well have shown up in a spaceship.
“I'm Aemond Targaryen. I'm here to install the Vhagar security system and cameras,” he paused and looked around, curious of the exterior of the ranger's lodge and surrounding woods. “I'm.. a... I'm a little surprised you want such a system here.”
“You and me both. Apparently it's your best one, right? I dunno what's been spooking Joey but whatever it is must be pretty weird. That thing's probably my entire yearly salary and then some,” you laughed dryly, gesturing to the briefcase he held. “I'm Y/N,” you added with a smile. “He's running late this morning, but told me you'd be here. I was expecting someone more, uhm...,” you tilted your head and closed one eye as if you were looking at him through a telescope. “Nerdy?” You mused aloud, nose scrunching with the somewhat embarrassing admission.
That sent a grin across his face. His chin tilted up as he regarded you down the long straight line of his nose. “I could say the same about you and forest rangers.”
Beneath your green and tan uniform your skin prickled. Something in you thrummed. This was bad news. Very bad news. When the hell was Joey going to be here? You tried to shake off the sensation his sweeping gaze gave you. He had a long paling scar over his the right side of his angular chiseled face, and there seemed to be something off about his right eye too. You didn't say anything about it and tried not to stare. “Anyway, wanna get started? It's warmer in here, I promise,” you gestured a thumb over your shoulder and swung the door wide so he might step inside.
“Yeah, thanks. It'll take awhile to get all finished. The rest of today and maybe half of tomorrow or so, too,” he admitted as he strode inside.
You whistled lowly at that – at his remark, not his backside – unaware it'd be such an ordeal. “That long?” His hair was long and beautiful in a way you didn't often see men wear their hair; so blonde it was a silvery-white. He had it pulled back in a simple ponytail. It hung a little loose and you couldn't help but wonder if he put it up in haste this morning. Aside from his Adidas shoes (which stuck out adorably, you thought to yourself), he wore all dark colors. Blacks, grays, and only the barest hints of white. Jacket, sweater, the neck of what you assumed was a t-shirt, and straight legged pants. Casually and mindfully layered.
Inside was much warmer, indeed. So much so that Aemond immediately took his jacket off. The simple gesture sent clean laundry and the faintest trace of cologne wafting your way; the fine muscles behind your ears flexed with the reveal. His sweater looked unbearably soft and you hated yourself for being so drawn to a man you literally just met three minutes ago. He was unfairly good-looking, yeah, but what if he was a jerk too because of it? "You weren't lying," he said, giving you a glance from his left side. "It's cozy. Is it just you here?"
You gestured him to follow you through the place. "For now, yeah. Here's the security room. Everything's open and unlocked so you should be able to do whatever you need to. Joey will be here eventually." The room was a little cramped with multiple monitors, desks, cabinets, and general clutter; papers, writing things, wrappers, cups, the like. "Oh shit. Sorry sorry. I should have cleaned it up. I didn't realize the boss left it such a mess," heat rose in your cheeks as you rolled your eyes, annoyed.
"I'm not worried," he replied calmly, seemingly unbothered by the mess. Taking advantage of a clean space you just cleaned, he placed the briefcase atop it and opened it up. With your back to him he found himself giving you another glance or two, grinning privately. How could someone make that uniform look so good?
"Care for coffee or water?" You asked, all the counter space now clear of clutter. Various wrappers crinkled in your pockets and you held four empty cups between both hands.
"Coffee, please. Black," he answered.
You pushed the door further open with the help of your foot and butt, leaving Aemond alone to get started on the lengthy process. Once in the kitchen you gave yourself a few extra minutes to collect yourself. Frankly, you felt half-silly for being so enamored by this tall, lithe, long haired stranger. He probably had a girlfriend back home!
"Here you are," you said upon returning, placing a mug down for him.
"Thank you," he said, turning his gaze up to you appreciatively. "Do you ever see weird things on these in the middle of the night?"
Instead of sitting down you opted to stand with one hand on your hip and the other flat atop the desk. You leaned against the edge and turned your head to look over the various monitors in an attempt to not stare at him. "Sometimes," you answered honestly, weighing how much you wanted to divulge. "Lights with no apparent light source are a more common occurance. Sick animals can look extremely strange," you paused and chuckled nervously. "Of course, there's always random homeless people, vagabonds, and even drunk or drugged out people." From your peripheral you realized he hadn't taken his eyes off you and it sent a shudder of embarrassment down your back. Did you have something on your face? "What?" You asked, turning your attention to him, then, breath catching in your throat.
It was his turn for color to creep in his cheeks. "Ugh. I was staring, huh? Sorry. You're just, uh... really pretty," he said, caught and guilty, rubbing the back of his neck. "I was expecting a Joey to match that deep voice on the phone. Not like a Dawson's Creek Joey."
Before you had a chance to reply the front door swung open and the booming voice of the actual Joey called, "hey, hey, so sorry to be late! Damn dog killed another squirrel and my youngest was the one to find it. Poor thing nearly had a panic attack."
"Oh damn. Sorry to hear that, boss," you hollered back, cringing.
"Hard lessons for kids to learn," he said, appearing in the doorway sipping on his own cup. He was a big man and easily took up the whole width of it, and the chair he sat upon groaned beneath his weight. "Enough of that though! If it isn't Aemond Targaryen of Dragon Security! I was surprised as shit to hear it'd be you installing these. Don't you normally have grunts to do this work?"
Aemond chuffed and shook the older man's massive hand. "Usually, yeah. My dad's fixing to retire soon and my older brother doesn't want to take up the mantle. So here I am doing boots-on-the-ground training to get a feel of things before taking his place."
"Good boy! You'll be the youngest wealthiest mother fucker around!" He belly laughed and clapped his free hand atop Aemond's. "Now! Walk me through this. This ain't no joke. There's been some wild shit going on and I intend to catch whatever it is. If I get famous I'll be sure to mention you too, boy," he drank half his coffee in a single chug and put his game face on.
"I've got rounds to make. I'll check on you guys in a couple hours," you said with a grin. You lingered on Aemond a moment longer. When you caught his gaze you give him a little look, letting him know you heard him and thought similairly. At least, you hoped that's what you silently communicated.
You never believed in love at first sight. But, lust at first sight? Maybe that's what burned low in your belly.
Through the single window he watched you jump into one of the ranger's newer model orange jeeps. A perfect ride for out here, he thought, distracted as you backed the wrangler out and drove away – a stark difference to his Tesla.
-
Your rounds took much longer than originally anticipated and you didn't return until nearly 5 o'clock. Thankfully, the turn of seasons was happening and it was still light outside. Pulling in to park you were surprised to see Aemond's car still in the same spot. It seemed the day was longer than anticipated all around! With the assistance of your visor mirror you took your hair down and ran your fingers through it, glad to finally let it fall free after a day's work. Joey was still here too, and you wanted to at least say bye to him before leaving for the night. You hopped out and started making your way in that direction.
"I'm right here, don't let me startle you," the unfamiliar voice of Aemond called from the tree line. Thank God he said something because he would have startled you out there.
You let out a half strangled laugh. "Thanks for the heads up. But, what are you doing?" You asked, curious steps walking in his direction. He was on a ladder about halfway up a tree. Each time he reached up the hem of his shirt lifted to flash a peek of the pale skin of his lean abdomen and slender hips. Damnit. He must have ditched his sweater sometime ago for he only wore his plain white t-shirt now.
"Just finishing getting the cameras up. Twenty-four in total across the nearest five miles or so," he replied with a final click. "There." Despite the chilly temperature sweat still glistened on his face and neck. He tipped his head down and rolled his bicep up at the same time, using the arm of his tee to wipe his brow. As he came down the ladder you saw his ponytail was replaced by a sloppy bun instead. Loose strands stuck to the dampness of his skin, and some of the more wispy fly-aways stuck out at varying directions. If you thought him handsome before, he, somehow, was even more so now.
"Joey made you do that all by yourself!?" Five miles of carrying ladders and equipment? You wanted to smack your boss.
He shook his head as he landed on both feet, momentarily breathless. "No. We've been together until just, oh, maybe fifteen minutes ago. Wife called him," he gestured to the lodge.
"Oh. Good! I was gonna kick his ass." Secondhand tiredness crept into your bones. "I'm gonna go say bye before heading out. Need help with anything?"
He shook his head for a second time. "I don't think so. Mostly just want to get back to the hotel and shower. I feel disgusting." Lifting up the neckline of his shirt he used it to wipe his face dry, thankful to finally be on the ground to do so without fear of falling off. "And I am starving. What's the best place to eat around here?"
Was he fishing or were you wishing? "There's a really good sandwich place just as you're getting into town. That's where I'm stopping to get dinner anyway," you smiled, belly rumbling loudly in answer.
He sighed contentedly at the idea. "I'll be hitting it up, thanks. If I didn't have to stay and finish a few things I'd ask to meet you there, but...," he paused, eyeing your reaction. You didn't say anything, yet he must have caught the excited glimmer in your eyes. "Maybe next time."
You smiled and unintentionally fluffed your hair up from the roots, hip propped out with your casual stance. "Sounds fun. Good night, Aemond. Drive safe," you said before turning and walking with a little too much purpose to the lodge, gravel crunching beneath your heavy work boots.
"Hey, Y/N," he called after you after a moment, long strides closing the distance between you. When you stopped and let him catch up, he asked, "can I get your number? So I can warn you when I'm here tomorrow. You looked a little scared this morning. Don't wanna do that again." His features remained neutral. His eyes (eye? that one seemed almost completely unresponsive and you weren't sure if it was even real), however, sparked with a mischief that sent your stomach flipping. Obviously you barely knew the guy, but you swore his voice dropped a little lower with the new closeness.
You exhaled. "I was that obvious? Dang. I was hoping I played it off more cool," you tsked yourself beneath your breath, pulling your phone from its pocket. He did the same and you both swiped them open to exchange numbers. His thumb tapped a few times on the screen and your phone dinged. 'Aemond' appeared at the top and a single dragon emoji was the only thing his text read. Despite yourself, you smirked.
"See you in the morning, ranger girl."
-
The next morning you found yourself fixing another fire and pot of coffee, peacefully idle and waiting for the others to arrive. Your phone chimed. It was a message and photo from Aemond.
Hope you're hungry. The girls at your fave sandwich place knew your order. On my way now.
Attached was a photo of a paper food bag seat belted into his passenger seat. Something more than excitement rose in your belly and you actually giggled. Handsome and sweet? No way he was single.
Fifteen minutes later he arrived with a soft knock. "You didn't have to get me breakfast. Way too kind of you, honestly."
He squinted and smirked softly. "Good morning to you as well." He stepped inside and closed the door behind, happy to be where it was warm. "It really wasn't a bother. Gives me an excuse to spend a little more time with you," he winked.
"Were your ears tingling last night? I only thought about texting you fifty times, at least," you admitted, flirting back.
"Should have. Hotels by yourself are terribly boring."
You two ate fully loaded breakfast sandwiches and you were more than a little surprised he ate all of his. Those things were huge! Before any time at all passed, it was already noon and you and Aemond had chatted the morning away in the security room. Everything seemed to be working well. He'd done a fantastic job at setting the cameras up yesterday and Joey beamed in excitement.
"I need to do my rounds before I don't. Catch you both later," you said reluctantly.
Just as you were stepping out of the room, Aemond called after you, "hey Y/N! Before you go..." His face spelled mischief. You arched a brow at him, waiting. "About Lord of the Rings and Frodo's journey...," – your conversation a few tangents ago – "why didn't Gandalf just call the eagles for them to fly to Mordor? Seems like that would have been a lot faster and smarter."
You were dumbfounded. "Excuse me?" You asked, fluttering a series of blasphemous blinks at him. "Seriously Aemond? And here I thought we were vibing. We're not friends anymore." You slammed the door but not before flipping him off. With both middle fingers. In the hallway you snorted and laughed in disbelief.
The door did little to block Aemond and Joey's uproar of laughter.
Handsome, sweet, and a jerk in good humor? How dare him!
-
The next day you didn't hear from Aemond, and you weren't going to lie to yourself: it kind of sucked. Despite knowing him for so brief a time, you missed him!
Thankfully, it was time for your weekend though. It was full dark by now and you were worn out from the week. You quickly changed into pajamas and flopped on your bed to find something to watch. Settling on reruns of one of your favorite shows, you found yourself staring at the black screen of your phone. Should you text him? As if your thoughts had traveled miles away right into Aemond's brain, it chimed with his message.
Hey ranger girl. I wanted to swing by the lodge today but wasn't able to. I'm in town for a few more days and was wondering if I could take you out to dinner before I go?
Holy shit holy shit holy shit. You texted back embarrassingly fast.
Only if you swear to never talk bad about LotR again.
Pinky promise. Tonight?
You looked down at yourself and snorted.
Definitely not, sorry. Tomorrow?
Yes. God I can't wait to see you out of that dorky uniform.
You had nothing appropriate to say and left him on read, lest you say something humiliating you'd regret.
-
The following evening was a clear cool night and you were glad you wore pants instead of a dress, and a leather jacket instead of a cardigan. Part of you was sad to leave the toasty confines of your 4-Runner, but it quickly dissolved once you saw Aemond standing outside the bar and grill restaurant talking to someone on his phone. He wore an elevated version of the outfit you originally met him in. What caught you off-guard, however, was his hair. Those long silvery-white tresses were pulled back into an intricate braid and you couldn't help but gawk. He looked devastatingly handsome. You saw him notice you, and butterflies turned in your belly at the heat and weight of his gaze.
"A leather jack and red lipstick? How did you know that was my favorite?" he asked as you hopped up next to him, twirling playfully for his attention. "Shit, you're lovely. I'm so glad you said yes to this."
You smiled at him, pretty white teeth beaming as you tired to reel your excitement in. "So are you. I'm going to have to sit on your lap so no other girls think you're free for the taking," you half cooed, black lashes giving your eyes an opened appearance that only elevated your playfulness.
He hummed and gave you a long look, tilting his head in direction of the entrance. "You'll get no argument." He reached out and you took his hand, suddenly bashful as his long fingers laced between yours. His palm was very warm; thoughts and images filled your mind of those hands all across your bare skin. The natural bow of his mouth lifted in a little smirk.
The restaurant was fairly busy tonight: you were lucky to snag a booth by the window. You both ordered a drink and agreed to skip the appetizer to instead indulge on something from their dessert menu. Him, an old fashioned bourbon, and you, a gin with pomegranate liqueur and lemon juice. Conversation flowed easily while you waited, the ambiance of the restaurant absorbing both of you in with ease.
With the help of a little liquid courage, you found yourself asking a question that'd been on your mind since first meeting. "I gotta ask," you started, looking over the scarred half of his face curiously. "What happened?" You gestured over your own face letting him know what you meant.
He briefly bit at his bottom lip. "Childhood accident," he answered with a sigh. "It was pretty brutal, actually," he added with a dry half-laugh. "One of my nephews got me with a knife. We were wild boys. Them moreso than me, but still, wild like boys can get. I ended up loosing my right eye and opted to get a prosthetic one instead of having an empty socket."
You gasped, truly in shock, and reached across the table to squeeze his hand. "Oh my God, Aemond. That's horrible."
He wasn't hot or sweaty, but your skin was delightfully cooler than his and he got more comfort out of it than you realized. "It was. The scar actually looks much better now than in the past. I've learned to live with it well enough. Driving is sometimes a struggle because of it, though. That was a big learning curve."
The waiter came back for your food order. Aemond chose the pork tenderloin with apricot almond chutney, herb roasted potatoes, and broccoli, and you chose the crusted ahi with cucumber, bell pepper, and red onion salad topped with a ginger soy vinaigrette – with no onion. Red onions, raw or cooked, destroyed your palette.
Both of your drinks were nearly gone by then; you couldn't speak for Aemond, but you were definitely feeling looser. Not drunk by any means, but a warm buzz that blushed your cheeks, hooded your eyes, and made your smile all the easier. "So, Aemond Targaryen of Dragon Security, what else do you do in and outside of your work?"
"You looking like that across from me is making focus very difficult," he replied, idly trailing the tip of his finger around the rim of his glass. He leaned back and flashed you a little smirk, the lovely color of his eye seeming to shrink. "It's a family business. We make high quality security cameras. My brother's invention, the Sunfyre system, specializes in daytime monitoring, and my sister's invention, the Dreamfyre system, specializes in nighttime monitoring." He sipped at his drink, wetting his lips with the smooth, fragrant liquor. "And mine, the Vhagar system, takes and elevates both. The beefest and strongest system by far. So, whatever your boss wants to find in those woods, he'll have the absolute best chance with what I set up for him."
You listened, genuinely interested, and did your very best to focus on his words and not the he sat across from you. "Honestly that's an entirely different world than anything I know," you shook your head amusedly. "Gross rich people stuff."
You continued talking about it until your meal came. It looked and smelled divine. "I'll check on you again shortly," the waiter said with a wide handsome smile.
Sticking out like a sore thumb was a pile of red onions atop your salad. All it took was a single glance between you and Aemond for him to know you wouldn't mention anything about it to the waiter – instead choosing to pluck them off your plate and try to enjoy your dinner regardless.
He wasn't about to let that happen. "She asked for no onions," Aemond said flatly up to the other man, one of his pale brows arching up in silent judgment.
"Oh! I'm so sorry! Let me have them remake it for you," the waiter said apologetically, disappearing with the plate quicker than you could say it's okay.
You wanted to sink down into the booth and disappear. Before you could stop giggling, and before Aemond could wipe the smug expression off his face, your new plate arrived. As well as a refill of your drinks.
"Her entree and both beverages are on the house tonight," the waiter said brightly as he placed everything down. You reached for the drink and sipped appreciatively.
"Just a refill for the lady, thank you. I'm driving," Aemond said with a hint of that same expression as before. That worked for the waiter and he was off again, busy with other tables. "Hey," he muttered to you, lower and softer than you've heard him before. He scooted closer to the window and patted the spot next to him. "Come sit by me, pretty girl."
An excited blush crept into your cheeks as you did so, and you leaned your knee against his beneath the table. His free arm draped across the back of the booth, engulfing you with the warmness of himself. You both ate and chatted, and you found out he travels far and wide. "French is my favorite language," you admitted blissfully. "So lovely to listen to. I can't speak it for the life of me, but listening to it?" You made an approving gesture with your hand.
"I don't quite have the accent down, but I'm fairly fluent in it...," he said, low and husky, as he tipped his head closer to yours. He whispered by your ear, and his breath fanning across your skin tickling your spine. "Je veux parler français entre tes cuisses."
A satisfied sigh escaped your lungs. You reveled in the way the natural rasp of his voice sounded with the language. "What did you say?"
"I want to speak french between your thighs."
A breath caught in your throat and you nearly choked on it. "Shut the fuck up. You did not just say that," you sputtered, immediately turning your head to meet his gaze.
He chuckled, palm trailing across your thigh beneath the table. "I did say that. And I do mean it."
"Aemond Targaryen...," you whispered in return, looking him square in the eye. You were pleasantly buzzed and the courage it gave you prompted your next movements. "Let's say we get out of here and you can show me that boring hotel room of yours." With a tilt of your head you slowly pressed your mouth to his, kissing him with the fire that began building in your core.
He hummed into the kiss and deepened the affection, holding the side of your neck with a need of his own. Pulling away, he quickly laid more than enough cash on the table, not bothering to wait for the tab.
The smear of your lipstick matched the faint stain of it on his own lips as he lead you out of the restaurant.
-
In the room, Aemond closed the door with a deliberate click and wasted little time in pushing you up against the nearest wall; your arms draped over his shoulders all the while, lips barely leaving each other. "You have no idea how bad I've wanted to do this since I first saw you at the lodge," he rasped against your mouth, kissing down your chin and throat with sloppy need. His hands were somehow all over you at once: waist, hips, ass, throat, everywhere.
You gasped, arching between him and the wall, shuddering in anticipation and excitement alike. "You should have," you murmured in reply, hands tugging off his jacket in near desperation. "I almost had a heart attack when I saw your hair in that stupid bun. I should have taken your clothes off to help you cool down right then and there," you teased in response.
A groan came from the back of his throat. "Je suis peut-être tombé amoureux," I might have fallen in love he rumbled with a smirk. You didn't know what he said but you also didn't care, because next thing you knew his teeth sunk into the slope of your neck and shoulder and you moaned. "Like being bitten?" He asked, doing it again in a slightly different spot.
"Yeah," you managed to gasp out, turning your head to entice him along. His laugh vibrated against your neck as he sucked the sensitive skin between his teeth, aiming to leave a mark. "Hey!" You gasped, giggling.
"Not gonna let you forget this, pretty girl." He tore your jacket off and threw it near his, already gripping the hem of your shirt. "Plan to make you feel it tomorrow," he added smugly, lifting your shirt off and tossing it aside. You wore one of your fun bras, lace and straps accenting the curve of your bust. "Oh, fuck, look at these beautiful tits," he groaned again, immediately bending to kiss and lick over your bare cleavage.
"You're a big talker. Are you sure you can follow through with all of that?" You questioned as if your skin wasn't already goosebumped, nipples weren't already pebbled with need, and the apex of your thighs wasn't already hot with the primal desire to be fucked and stuffed full.
He growled with your challenge, single eye looking down at you darkly. "That's the plan." In three motions he wrapped an arm around your waist, turned with you flush to him, and stepped to push you onto the bed. You landed heavily, thighs clenching as you watched him discard his shirt. He was long and lean like a swimmer, with a pale patch of hair at the center of his chest and trailing below his navel to disappear beneath his pants. A new wave of warmth pooled between your thighs and your pants felt much too tight.
"Stronger than you look too, Targaryen," you taunted, squeezing your thighs together. You looked up at him with heavy lidded eyes. Lust burned through your blood and you couldn't help the heave of your breasts.
Both his hands moved to unbuckle his belt and unbutton his pants to ease some of the pressure on his obvious arousal. He made no move to do anything else. "You're a big talker too." Kneeling at the edge of the bed he pulled you further down the mattress, calculating and amused. You helped him help you out of your pants, hips squirming so he could pull them down your legs. Carefully, he parted your legs and laughed a deep mocking sound. "I haven't even touched you and you're wet through your panties. So needy," he crooned, thumb barely grazing down the line of your covered slit.
You shivered, unaware and unable to bite back a whimper. "Aemond...," you gasped, the shocks his touch gave you sparking yet even more heat to pool inside you.
"And sensitive," he purred, watching your face as he continued to slowly trace along you; heavy eyed and smeared lipstick made you look all the more adorable. "Si amusant à manger. Embrasser. Lécher." So fun to eat. To kiss. To lick. He kissed the inside of your thighs in punctuation, the sounds of them sending embers up your spine. Wide hands trailed up and down your legs, over your belly, across your hips. He kissed your covered mound until the full length of your legs tightened.
"Take 'em off... move 'em to the side. Something," you panted, eyes already threatening to unfocus with the tantalizing teasing.
He had nothing to say, his mind just as clouded with lust as your own. Tugging the damp center of your panties to the side, he licked a long line up through your soaked, silky folds, groaning a hitched sound from the center of his throat.
You rolled up against him while your hands flew down to his head, fingers sinking through the smoothness of his intricate braid. Pleasure left your parted mouth.
A little moan of his own answered yours. Lick, suck, kiss. Over and over again with varying speeds and pressure, pulling more of those lovely sounds from your pretty mouth. The combination was nearly obscene; wet, lewd, eager. He carelessly pulled your panties full off and discarded them.
"Oh my God...," you drawled, gripping into his hair as he continued his delightful assault on every part of your pussy. Sucking your clit, sinking his tongue inside your saturated walls, licking over everything as if his own orgasm depended on it.
Stopping for only a moment, he reached up to the front of your bra and pulled the cups down to send your breasts spilling free. He palmed over them roughly, squeezing the soft flesh until you hissed between your teeth, body arching for his mouth's attention once more. He pinched at your nipples as his head dipped down again, hot tongue and handsome lips going right back to work.
"Yes... please, fuck! I'm so close!" Your core burned and tightened, and you were past caring if anyone in the neighboring rooms heard you.
"That's right... be a good girl and come so I can really fuck you," he hummed, delving right back in until you were trembling beneath him.
The intensity of your climax left your fingers tingling and toes curling as your thighs squeezed around his head. You were sure you'd rip some of his hair out, but the near desperate groan that left his throat told you he fucking loved it. He eased his actions on you but never truly stopped, increasing and lengthening the waves of your pleasure as you rode them out.
Once you were done, basking in the afterglow of your orgasm, he finally stood and joined you on the bed. "Open the front pocket of my bag right there. Yeah, that one. Grab the condom for me," he said as he kissed over your jaw and neck, beginning to shift out of his own pants.
"I have an IUD. We're not using that bullshit," you replied cheekily, helping him out of his pants. He kicked them off and his briefs followed, and you instantly saw why he made sure you came first. Not only did he have a beautiful cock, but it was big.
"Fuck, babe, you're gonna let me come in your pretty pussy?" He asked, gripping your body to roll you onto your belly.
You moved with his prompts and nodded. "Yeah," you said and looked up at him from over your shoulder, shifting your legs to prop your ass up. It accentuated the natural curve of your spine and that sight alone would have gotten him hard.
With one hand he held onto the soft meat of your hip while the other held himself, lining up with your hot little cunt that was on full display for him. He inched in, drawing back once half of him had sunk into you, only to plunge into you all at once. "Shit...," he hissed, grip denting harshly into your flesh.
You fisted the sheets, whimpering at the absolute fullness of his cock buried in you. While nestled in you, he unclasped the back of your bra and helped you out of it, briefly lingering on the faint lines it left on your skin; an odd sort of intimacy making him appreciate the sight. "Take me," you whispered, breathless, belly slowly building up with a new coil of bliss.
Pulling his hips back, he snapped them forward against you. "Taking me so well, pretty girl," he praised. Using both hands, now, he propped you up into a better position, steadily rocking into you as he did so. The sounds that poured from your mouth were a mix of elation and lust, desire taking hold of all your senses as your body yielded to his intrusion. The way he slid in and out of you, the way your tight walls gripped around him, and the way the muffled whines that came from you each time he rammed into your deepest parts made him half insane. "Getting sooo messy, baby," his words were accented by his pelvis slamming against your upturned ass; sticky, squelching, skin on skin.
You were embarrassingly close again, eyes rolled closed. "Feels so good," you cooed from beneath, mind fully drunk on him.
"Yeah? Gonna fuck your pretty face into the mattress. Can't have you so loud that someone comes knocking," he said as he fisted into your hair, turning your head into the blankets and pillows that smelled like him. His pace grew faster, sloppier, and you knew he had to be close too. That deep sensitive spot inside you was being absolutely bullied; cockhead slammed against and past it, meeting your deepest wall, only to drag backwards along it, over and over.
"Aemond!" The mattress muffled your cry of pleasure and your second peak left you numb and weightless, mind totally blank save for the man who drove you there.
With a final push he drove into you with a guttural groan. The full length of him twitched inside your pulsating walls, coating your insides with his release. An obscene mixture of your creamy arousal and his seed oozed out from around him to dribble onto the bed. You both laughed in the aftershocks, static buzzing your brain as the lewd, heady scents of sex filled the air around you.
"Fuck, that felt good," he rasped, slowly pulling out of you and watching his cum leak from your core. "I'll get us a towel in a minute. I just need to catch my breath," he added with a lazy, glorious smile, laying flat on his back with momentary exhaustion.
You laid on your belly beside him, taking in the angles of his face and how they softened in his post-sex bliss. "No. Not yet. I'm not finished with you yet," you said slyly, pushing yourself up to flip a leg over his middle. You bent and kissed him, pushing your fingers through the damp hair from his hairline to his crown, braid no longer neat. Already half hard again, it didn't take long for him to catch his breath beneath you; fiery and refueled from your display of sensuality.
"What about you car?" He asked, biting the top of your shoulder.
"What about it? We can get it in the morning. I wanna ride this big cock."
There very well might have been some noise complaints from his room that night. Neither of you cared. Once you were both finally satisfied to the point of silliness, sleep came easy. When the morning came and he drove you back to the restaurant? You were mesmerized at how his features glowed golden with the cloudless sun.
"A 4-Runner? Lots more room in there than mine...," he teased and gave you a questioning look, testing the waters.
You hummed thoughtfully, returning his look. "Well, yeah. But, might need to put it to the test. Just to, you know, see which one is better."

Warrior of My Heart
Tumblr media
SUMMARY |  You returned home after a successful journey with your knight Jaehyun. Your brother, the king, wants you to start marrying and you knew there was one person that you wanted. PAIRINGS | Jaehyun/Fem!Reader GENRE |  non-idol au, knight!jaehyun, fantasy au, smut, unprotected sex, fingering, oral sex, fluff towards the end RATING |  Mature LENGTH |  6,412 words AUTHOR’S NOTE |  I was originally writing this with a whole story in mind with like an assassination attempt or a battle or something. But apparently it didn't turn out that way lolol. I don't even know if this has a storyline haha. Anyhow, I hope it's still okay!
Tumblr media
You sat atop your horse, holding your sword in hand and looked at the road ahead that led to the capital city and the place you called home. Neo City was a bustling city filled with wonder and hope. You looked at Jaehyun, your bodyguard and the knight-commander of the White Lotus Order, and gave him a happy smile.
"Home, sweet home." You exclaimed. "The journey has been a long one for us. I'm ready to sleep for the next month."
"Indeed, Princess." Jaehyun smiled at you. "I'm sure the knights are long over due for rest."
Jaehyun let out a chuckle and then started to lead your horse towards the city gates, taking off his helm and placing it on your horse's saddle.
"So what shall we do once we get there?" He asked you, making you blush lightly. You were so used to going to bed alone now, that being in a relationship seemed almost impossible for you to handle. Your eyes traveled up and down his body and all you could think about is how much you wanted to feel his body pressed against yours. It had been too long since you last felt his touch on your skin and seeing him here, made you wonder if he ever thought about you as well. If he had moved on. You quickly shook those thoughts away and stood up straight, your armor settling around your frame as you tighten your grip on your sword.
"There is something I have always wanted to do but never had the time for." You said quietly. "When we get to the palace I will need you to help me."
"Of course Princess." Jaehyun answered, bowing before giving you a respectful nod. "Anything you ask."
You walked through the gates of the city in awe. Neo City was a thriving place with a large economy and political influence within the nation. The streets were lined with people running from all directions and you got lost in their jumble. Once they finally cleared you found yourself standing outside the main gates of the palace where your brother, King Taeyong, resided. Your jaw dropped at the sight of the majestic building and stepped forward towards it.
Once you stepped through the gate, the city grew silent as if nothing out of the ordinary was happening. You smiled at the people around you and headed straight towards the palace. The guards opened the doors to the main hall and allowed you to pass without question. All the servants and the cooks stopped what they were doing and bowed to you. You smiled politely and then proceeded to head towards the throne room, passing by all the chambers until you reached your destination. As you entered the room you immediately noticed Taeyong sitting upon the throne, drinking a cup of tea while reading some reports. When he saw you enter, he set down the documents and gave you a bright smile.
"My sister! You're back!" He greeted, rising from his seat. "Come give your brother a hug."
You rushed into his arms and he embraced you tightly, lifting you off the ground in his embrace. His strong arms wrapped around your waist as you hugged him tight, not wanting to let go of him. After several moments of just hugging each other, you let go of him, still keeping a firm grasp on his shirt as you looked into his face.
"How was your journey?" He asked you curiously, giving you a puzzled look. "Did you finally find a lover? Or broke some hearts along your travels?"
You laughed lightly at his question and ran your fingers through your hair.
"Maybe." You replied with a smirk. "But I am tired and want to get some sleep. How is mother?"
"She's fine." He answered. "You know her love is pure. She never leaves my side even when she's at work. But if you really must know, I heard she wasn't feeling well earlier today. That's why we didn't see you coming back."
He chuckled as you let out an annoyed sigh.
"Oh… Well I should probably check on her then." You told him with a small laugh.
"By all means my dear sister." Taeyong told you kindly, bowing to you before getting up from his chair and heading towards the door. "You go check on Mother and I'll call you when lunch is ready."
With a nod, you went to leave the room but stopped halfway to hear Taeyong tell you to come closer. You leaned in close to his ear, hearing the sound of the papers under his desk shifting as he leaned in as well.
"If you ever do end up having sex, don't forget to use protection." He whispered, chuckling at your look of confusion. "I know I'm only your older brother and that you probably think of me as an idiot most of the time, but I don't like to see my little sister get hurt."
You raised an eyebrow at him.
"Why would I be having sex?" You asked innocently, causing him to burst out laughing.
"Well…" He managed to say between laughs. "You are my little sister after all and… We are royalty. Who knows who might want to take advantage of your status?"
You gave him a light shove to stop his laughter and looked away. He's right, though. Being royalty, there was bound to be someone that would try and exploit your position and power for their own gain. In fact, one such person tried just that just two years ago. Thankfully you managed to stop them in time but it was also because of your efforts that the man ended up losing his life and eventually became the reason you decided to become the leader of the White Lotus order. But thinking about that story put a dark shadow on your mind and you turned your attention back to your brother.
"Taeyong." You whispered softly. "Do you think I'll ever get married and have children?"
He gave you a thoughtful look before answering. "I don't know, sis. It depends on the person you end up with and whether or not you both feel comfortable with the idea of marriage."
He sighed and then placed a gentle kiss on your forehead.
"I just hope you'll be happy." He told you gently. "And I wish you'd hurry up and find a lover so you can stop moping around."
You gave him a playful punch to the shoulder and stepped back.
"A lover huh? Who do you suggest I should choose?" You asked, looking him dead in the eye. "One of our knights?"
"Hey!" Taeyong laughed at your suggestion. "Don't tempt me! They might not seem very nice at first glance but deep down they are loyal and honorable men."
You rolled your eyes and shrugged.
"Whatever you say, my king brother." You told him with a smile. "Besides, I doubt any of them are single. I bet they are all happily dating someone right now."
Taeyong shrugged and smiled fondly at you.
"I guess that is true. But don't worry, there are plenty more handsome young men that would gladly accept you into their lives."
You giggled at his comment and then grabbed his arm, tugging him toward the exit of the room.
"C'mon. Let's go see Mother." You urged him, stepping past him and heading out of the main hall.
"Yes, yes." He agreed, following behind you with a small grin on his face. "Let's go see Mother."

It was 3 days later and the entire kingdom was celebrating your arrival back to the palace. There were decorations lining the halls and dozens of servants hurried about to prepare for the celebration. Your brother was busy trying to make plans to invite all the nobles and members of the government to attend the grand feast that was planned to be held tomorrow. Everyone in the castle seemed cheerful and eager to celebrate the reunion of the royal family and you couldn't help but smile brightly at the sound of their voices.
In the courtyard, hundreds of servants worked diligently preparing the meals and preparing them for delivery to different parts of the palace. Inside the gardens, knights were gathered near the edge of the lake cleaning and repairing their weapons. Looking around, you spotted young ladies wearing colorful dresses waiting in line to speak to Jaehyun, the Knight-Commander, hoping to catch his eye.
Your brother stopped talking to a couple of soldiers near the gate and looked around, spotting you nearby. He raised an eyebrow at you and pointed at you, motioning for you to join him.
Walking up to him, you tilted your head at him curiously and waited for him to continue.
"We're inviting the Knights to participate in the feast as well." He told you. "I figure we should show them our appreciation for helping save Neo City while you and the White Lotus Order were out on your journey."
You nodded in understanding.
"Yeah, that's a good idea." You replied with a slight nod. "I bet they would enjoy attending the feast as well."
"And maybeeeee, we'll find you a husband." Taeyong let out a laugh. "If that happens, I promise I won't tease you anymore."
He sighed as you let out a giggle and turned around to head back inside the palace.
As you passed by the garden, you noticed that many women were beginning to approach the knight commander and talk to him. Their smiles were wide and their eyes filled with excitement. Some women wore beautifully embroidered clothing and others were dressed in simple dresses, yet no matter what they wore, their beauty shone through their attire.
And just watching them talk excitedly with him made you feel a little jealous.
You've slept together multiple times during your journey. The times where you were lonely, the occasional drunk nights, or even that one time where you suffered a shoulder injury from an arrow and you had a fever.
You thought that there was something developing between you two. Or was it all one-sided on your end? And now that you were back in Neo City, Jaehyun didn't even bother showing any interest in you…
No, this isn't fair. You shook your head and frowned, feeling a bit depressed as you began walking again. Just then, you felt a hand grabbing your arm and stopping you in your tracks.
"So, the Princess General and the Knight-Commander, huh?" Taeyong muttered as he caught up with you. "Who would have thought?"
Looking at him, you could see he was clearly concerned about your current mood.
"What do you mean?" You asked with a frown.
"When you stopped I was going to ask you if everything was alright but now I wonder." He answered with a chuckle. "Are you alright, my dear sister?"
Your frown intensified and you shook your head slowly, trying to calm down your growing anger.
"He doesn't even care about me, does he?" You asked Taeyong angrily. "Not after we spent two whole years traveling around together, constantly risking our lives for each other, yet as soon as we arrived back home, it's as if nothing happened between us."
You paused and let out a frustrated sigh.
"It feels like he barely acknowledges me anymore and I'm starting to get really mad about it." You explained in a quiet voice. "It's not fair. He always used to make me laugh and joke around but now all he does is ignore me. It makes me even more mad since he's my bodyguard and the knight-commander."
"I see." Taeyong murmured, glancing over at the young women approaching Jaehyun. "I wouldn't blame you if you wanted to hit him in the face, just so you can prove to yourself that he does care about you."
Your eyes widened and you started laughing bitterly.
"Oh yeah, punching him will definitely solve all my problems." You said sarcastically. "Do you really believe that hitting him would somehow magically fix things between us?"
"Well, you said it yourself. He doesn't care about you. So maybe if you show him that you don't care either, he'll finally notice how much he missed you." Taeyong said quietly.
"How can you be so optimistic?" You asked, rolling your eyes. "Aren't you worried that I'll just break his nose or something instead?"
He chuckled and placed a comforting hand on your shoulder.
"My lovely sister, I assure you that there's nothing wrong with hitting him. If anything, it will only bring you closer together." He said with a soft smile. "Now, come. Let's get dinner ready."
At his words, you looked down at the ground and gave him a reluctant nod. He's right. You sighed and followed him into the palace, feeling your temper slowly dying down with every step. At least he seems to be right, after all.

The next day, everyone in the city celebrated your return and preparations were underway for the banquet being prepared in your honor. By early afternoon, the entire city was covered in clouds of dust as numerous carts were being pulled through the streets carrying food and drink items for the upcoming feast.
In front of the palace, a large tent had been set up and several caterers were already busy setting the tables and arranging the dishes. As you walked into the courtyard, several of the young girls you saw yesterday were standing near the entrance, waiting for a chance to speak to Jaehyun.
Most of them were dressed in pretty clothes adorned with sparkling jewels. They all seemed nervous and kept staring at the tent entrance nervously. You took a seat near the table and watched them wait for a few minutes before Taeyong joined you and stood beside you.
"All these beautiful ladies are competing to win the heart of our noble Knight Commander." He informed you with a proud smile. "And according to rumors, they are all vying for his attention."
"It seems so." You nodded, grinning as you watched the women walk by, one after another. "They're really trying hard."
A servant approached you with a tray full of drinks and handed you a glass of water. You thanked her and then watched as the girls continued to approach Jaehyun. They tried to talk to him politely and tried to make him laugh with silly jokes, but as soon as he didn't respond, most of them quickly retreated, disappointed.
"I swear, he has the best poker face in the world." You remarked with a laugh, sipping at your water. "All these girls came here believing that he'll instantly fall for them and he never breaks character. How he keeps doing it amazes me."
After watching them for a few more moments, you heard footsteps coming your way and turned to see the Knight Commander approaching.
Jaehyun's eyes scanned over the crowd and eventually rested on you. He gave his greetings to Taeyong before coming to face you.
"There you are, Princess." He greeted, smiling at you. "I was looking for you."
A warm smile lit up your face and you couldn't help but nod as he spoke.
"Oh really?" You asked. "I wasn't planning on spending the entire afternoon watching these girls trying to get your attention though."
Jaehyun chuckled softly as he glanced over the girls who still lingered around him, searching for his approval.
"Don't worry about them." He reassured you. "They will leave once they realize I'm not interested."
“Really now?” You chuckled as well and turned away, resting your chin in your palm. “Who wouldn’t want the attention of the Knight-Commander?”
“Don’t tell me you’re jealous?” Jaehyun teasingly asked.
“Why would I be jealous? It’s not like you have feelings for me.” You muttered.
"Oh? Didn't the princess forget that I like her?" Jaehyun sounded surprised when you glanced back at him and his eyes narrowed in confusion. "Did you forget those restless nights by the fire? Those nights where our limbs were tangled together?"
His gaze softened and you blushed lightly as his fingers reached up to gently stroke your cheek. His touch sent tingles across your skin and your stomach fluttered with excitement.
"I didn't forget." You whispered softly, unable to stop your lips from curving upward into a tiny smile.
You suddenly realized that Jaehyun's smile had changed as well and his eyes were shining as he stared down at you. It made your cheeks grow warm and your heart begin to beat faster.
"I was just wondering…" You hesitated slightly, biting your lower lip as you looked at him. "Do you remember that night by the fire when you helped me take care of my shoulder wound? When you wrapped your arms around me and stayed with me until morning?"
Jaehyun blinked and a wide grin spread across his face as he glanced down at you.
"Princess, I remember everything about that night." He breathed huskily, reaching out to caress your cheek with the tips of his fingers. "But I didn't think that you remembered it either."
You smiled at him shyly as he leaned forward, his mouth just inches from yours. Your breath caught in your throat as he brushed his lips against yours, sending shivers down your spine.
Then he pressed his forehead against yours and whispered in your ear.
"I've never forgotten about that night either, Princess."
You bit your bottom lip as his words slowly sank in. A dull ache was slowly building within you as your heart raced. With a shaky breath, you closed your eyes and nodded slightly.
"You know, this reminds me of that day we found ourselves trapped in the dungeons together." You admitted quietly, bringing your free hand up to cover his. "We were surrounded by darkness and death. There was only one light and that was you."
"That's when I knew that I'd spend the rest of my life protecting you." He whispered in your ear.
"I'd hate to ruin your love fest, sister," a voice called out next to you. You looked at Taeyong, a smirk on his face. "But did you and the knight-commander forget that we are in public?"
With a groan, Jaehyun stepped back and placed a hand on your shoulders. He glanced over your shoulder and you could see the rest of the girls still lingering around, talking quietly amongst themselves.
"Yeah, sorry." He mumbled sheepishly. "I guess I got carried away."
He bowed to Taeyong and the servant, leaving you alone with your older brother. Taeyong eyed you suspiciously, a mischievous grin on his face.
"So?" He asked slyly. "Do I hear wedding bells?"
"Taeyong!" You gasped, narrowing your eyes at him.
He laughed and reached out to ruffle your hair playfully.
"Sis, I know you love Jaehyun." He said seriously. "You two belong together. He's practically shown that he loves you in front of all the nobles and servants."
You opened your mouth to protest, but Taeyong raised a finger and silenced you with a look.
"Just think about it, okay?" He told you with a wink. "If he asked you to marry him tomorrow, would you say yes?"
You paused and thought about what Taeyong said. What would you do if Jaehyun asked you to marry him tomorrow? Would you accept his proposal? The answer was clear: Of course you would!
As you thought about your future husband, a soft sigh escaped your lips and your eyes slowly closed. You rested your head on your hand as Taeyong and Jaehyun started chatting casually while taking their seats.
After some time passed, you noticed that the young women you saw earlier were gone. You sighed softly and leaned back in your chair, relaxing slightly.
Despite all the festivities, your mind kept wandering back to your relationship with Jaehyun.
You loved him. More than anything else in the world, you loved him. And deep down inside, you were sure that he felt the same way about you. After all, they were soul mates. Two halves of the same whole. And you were confident that he was the only person you would ever want to share your life with.
Everything seemed perfect.
Why should you even bother to try and find someone else? It was almost as if fate was telling you that you were meant to be together forever.
As you watched the people dancing in the ballroom below, you smiled as you thought about the first time you met Jaehyun.
It was an exciting day, filled with uncertainty and joy. But no matter what happened, no matter how the day ended, you always believed that everything would turn out alright.
Yes, today is going to be a good day. And every day after that. Because your life is already complete.
Even if he won't admit it, Jaehyun loves you. And you love him.
You always knew that one day you'd have to choose between love and duty, but now… Now, it's too late to make such a choice. You can't separate your heart from your duty any longer. Not anymore.
With a small smile, you turned away from the window and faced the palace wall.
"Jaehyun." You whispered softly, letting your lips curl upwards into a small smile. "Tonight… Tonight, I'm finally going to tell you how I feel."
Tumblr media
"Princess Y/N?"
Your name sounded out from behind you and you slowly turned around to see Jaehyun giving you a soft smile.
"Are you alright?" He asked, his voice laced with concern. "What happened? Is everything alright?"
"Yeah, everything's fine." You assured him, walking over to him and giving him a small hug.
"Good." He nodded with a smile. "That's good to hear."
After a few moments of silence you pulled away from him and smiled at him.
"I want to thank you for being here for me, Jaehyun." You told him, reaching up and brushing a strand of hair from his face. "It means a lot to me."
"No problem." He told you with a nod. "You've always been there for me whenever I needed someone. It's only fair that I return the favor."
You smiled softly at him.
"I'm glad you're here, Jaehyun." You said softly. "This is… Kind of lonely being alone again."
"You don't have to be alone." He said with a comforting smile. "You've got me here with you."
His words made you relax and your eyes trailed down to his lips. You remembered how amazing it felt when he kissed you and how perfect he tasted. You missed kissing him. Not only did you miss kissing him but you also missed cuddling up to him. Before you knew it, your lips were on his and your arms wound around his neck. A gasp left your mouth as you leaned in, letting your lips part slightly as you opened your mouth for him. With a moan you slid your tongue across his bottom lip and met his tongue with your own. Slowly you started to pull away from him, kissing his jawline and down his neck, enjoying the sweet scent of his sweat mixed with his natural smell.
"Princess…" He breathed heavily, pulling you into another long kiss.
"Come." You grabbed his hand and led him to your bed chamber. Once inside you shut the door behind you and pressed your back against it.
"Do you remember the night you saved me?" You asked, tracing the shape of his mouth with your finger. "The night of that bandit attack where I almost lost my life?"
Jaehyun's hands came up to cup your cheeks and he stared at you with a heated expression.
"I'll never forget it." He promised you with a growl. "I'll never forget the way you screamed my name and the way you fought off those bandits. You were such a brave girl and I was proud of you."
"Some Princess General I was, getting caught by bandits." You let out a small laugh. "But then here comes the Knight-Commander coming in to save me."
"Nothing you could've done, Princess." He retorted playfully. "Those guys wouldn't have stopped attacking you if it wasn't for me. Besides, I think they appreciated me showing them how a real man saves a damsel in distress."
You let out a quiet chuckle at his comment and traced the line of his collarbone with your fingertip.
"What if I told you I want to repay you?" You asked, raising an eyebrow at him. "That I want to repay you for saving my life."
Jaehyun's eyebrows furrowed as he listened to your words. His eyes searched yours as you held his gaze intently. For a moment, he couldn't move or speak. All he could do was stare at you in awe. He wanted nothing more than to keep kissing you but something seemed to be holding him back. Finally, he gathered himself together enough to reply.
"Princess…" He breathed out hoarsely. "I would be honored if you wanted to repay me for what I did that night."
Before you had a chance to react, Jaehyun lifted you up onto the bed and lowered himself down to lie next to you. Your body melted into his and he pulled you close to him, wrapping his arms around you tightly and drawing you into his embrace. His lips pressed against your forehead and your hands tangled in his hair as you nuzzled into his chest. His skin was smooth and warm to the touch and it reminded you of the way it felt against your body. The thought made you shiver and your stomach clenched tightly as you held yourself tighter against him. You wanted to stay this way forever . To never let go of him. To never stop being held by him.
Your hands moved down to his waist and unbuttoned his tunic. He sighed deeply and ran his hands up and down your arms as you continued to undo the buttons. As soon as all the buttons were undone, you slid your hands underneath his shirt, resting your palms against his warm bare skin. You wanted to make him feel as good as he made you feel and for a moment you wondered if this would actually happen. Would he actually let you repay him?
With a growl, Jaehyun sat up and pulled you into his lap, placing a firm kiss on your lips before pulling away and staring at you with intense passion filled eyes. His hands came up to cup your cheeks and then slowly slid down your neck until they reached your shoulders.
He began to caress your shoulders with featherlight touches and his lips returned to yours.
As his kisses grew deeper and his touch rougher, you closed your eyes and laid your head against his chest, enjoying the feeling of his strong heartbeat beneath your palm. This was your favorite place in the entire world. Your safe haven. Your refuge. Whenever you were troubled, whenever you felt pain or anger or sadness; whenever you just needed some time to think; this was where you went. It was always a sanctuary for you. Where you were free to express yourself without worrying about being judged or chastised. No matter what you were going through, no matter what you were trying to hide from everyone else, you knew that you could always come here and just relax and be at peace. Now, lying here in Jaehyun's arms, you finally understood why he was willing to go through whatever hell existed for you.
Why was he ready to risk his life to save yours? Because you were precious to him and he couldn't imagine a world without you in it.
When his lips touched your ear lobe, your heart began to race and you bit your lower lip, trembling as your hands traveled up and down his back, lightly kneading the muscles in his arms. When his hands dropped to your waist, you tightened your grip around his neck and moaned softly as his fingers brushed against the sides of your breasts.
Suddenly, you pulled away from him and looked into his eyes, noticing how much they had darkened with desire. You smiled softly and gently traced the line of his jaw with your fingertips. His eyes widened as you leaned forward and gently took his lips in a tender kiss.
Just like before, his lips parted for you and he eagerly accepted your tongue, opening his mouth wider as you swept your tongue across his teeth and against his lips. The electricity running between the two of you had increased tenfold since last time and it sent ripples of pleasure throughout your entire body. You didn't realize how much you missed him until he was in front of you again. How much you missed this. How much you missed his presence.
Slowly you broke apart from the kiss and ran your hands down his chest, feeling his heartbeat accelerate as your fingers stroked the ridges of his abs.
His arms wrapped around you once again and his fingers skimmed across your hips, causing you to moan loudly. The tension in the air became thick and heavy and neither of you could breathe properly as the feelings coursing through your bodies intensified and every touch felt even more erotic than the last. His lips touched the skin of your cheek and down your neck, sending waves of shivers down your spine and goosebumps popping up all over your body. Your breaths became shorter and quicker and your heart began to pound harder as you clutched at his shirt desperately, wanting more of his touch.
In one swift movement, Jaehyun pulled away from you and unbuckled his belt, tossing it aside. Then, with a seductive smirk he pushed his pants down, revealing his cock which had hardened considerably since the last time you saw it. You licked your lips as your eyes roamed over his naked body, memorizing every inch of him. In your mind, you already knew exactly how his body felt against yours. Just thinking about it caused your nipples to become erect and you squirmed under his gaze, unconsciously wanting him to continue exploring your body with his mouth. Suddenly, his lips found their way to your nipples and he took one in his mouth while the other lay nestled in his palm. The vibrations from his mouth and the warmth from his hand were too much and you arched your back as the sensations built within you. You held on to his head and whimpered quietly, begging for more.
"Oh God…" You moaned softly as he drew circles around your nipple with his tongue. "Please, please…"
"Say it." He whispered roughly, moving his hand to rub against your clit.
"Fuck me, Jaehyun." You begged him, gripping his shoulders tightly. "Please, fuck me!"
With a groan, he turned his attention to your clit and used his thumb to massage it. You closed your eyes and gasped, moaning louder and louder as your legs buckled and your nails dug into his shoulder blades.
He rubbed his thumb in slow circular motions and you thrashed your head back and forth in an attempt to find relief. He sucked one of your nipples into his mouth and flicked it with his tongue before switching to the other one and doing the same thing.
As he suckled your nipples and teased your clit with his thumb, he continued to stroke your pussy, making sure that every sensation you experienced was amplified and intense. Soon, your body began to shake and you started to scream incoherently as a violent orgasm tore through you. You squeezed your eyes shut and screamed out loud as the sensations rushed through you. It felt like your entire body was on fire and there was no escape. You screamed so loudly that your throat began to hurt and your body began to cramp up. Finally, after several minutes, you fell limp in Jaehyun's arms, unable to stand any longer.
As your breathing slowed down, Jaehyun kissed your temple and pressed a soft kiss against your neck. After catching his breath, he removed his thumb from your pussy and gave you a wicked grin.
"Not quite yet." He whispered, pushing you back onto the bed and crawling up next to you.
With one hand still rubbing your clit, he lowered his head and buried his face between your thighs. You closed your eyes and moaned softly as he began licking up and down your slit. You spread your legs as wide as possible, eager for his tongue to get closer to your most sensitive area. He opened his mouth wider and took your clit into his mouth and gently began sucking on it, making you shudder uncontrollably.
His hands massaged your inner thighs and as his tongue continued to explore your pussy, his fingers began to gently run along the length of your labia, spreading your juices all over your swollen clit. You jerked slightly as his fingers slid over your sensitive spot and his tongue kept up its relentless assault on your clit. Your head fell back as he increased the pressure on your clit and he continued to lick and suck on it as your hands fisted the sheets and your body trembled violently. You cried out loudly as another powerful orgasm rocked through you and you bit down hard on your bottom lip to stifle your cries of pleasure.
Finally, your breathing returned to normal and Jaehyun slowly rose up and glanced at you. His eyes were burning brightly and you could tell that he was absolutely overcome with lust. Without saying anything, he climbed on top of you and pressed his hard cock against your entrance. Before you could say anything, he thrust deep inside you and the shockwave of pleasure that ran through you made you gasp loudly.
The way he held you tightly as he pounded into you sent shivers through your entire body and you couldn't help but grab his ass and pull him closer to you. His hot breath washed over your face and his teeth nibbled at your neck as his fingers gripped your hips tightly.
It felt amazing to have him inside you again and you could already tell that he was giving it everything he had. There was nothing soft or gentle about the way he moved, grinding his hips against yours with each thrust, slamming into you with such force that it almost hurt.
Each thrust seemed to strengthen your feelings for him and it scared you slightly because they felt more passionate than ever. As his fingers rubbed against your g-spot, you felt your orgasm building up quickly and you bit your lip as your vision clouded and blurred and your heart raced wildly.
You let out a small scream as you lost control completely and threw your head back as a powerful orgasm ripped through you. The orgasm itself was short lived but the aftershocks were even stronger than before. The intensity of the emotions coursing through your body overwhelmed you and you collapsed into Jaehyun's arms, crying silently as he continued to move inside you. Every movement of his hips felt incredible and when he grabbed your hair and kissed your neck, your heart nearly stopped beating. Everything about this moment was perfect.
When your orgasms subsided, you managed to catch your breath and open your eyes, only to see Jaehyun smiling back at you with a look of pure satisfaction on his face. He stared deeply into your eyes and cupped your face with his hands, bringing his lips closer to yours. Slowly, he brought his lips towards yours and you felt your heart skip a beat as his soft lips touched yours and his tongue entered your mouth. As you wrapped your arms around his neck and ran your fingers through his silky hair, you realized that you never wanted this night to end. You never wanted this relationship to end.
"I love you." You whispered against his lips.
"I love you too." He replied simply, leaning in and pressing his lips against yours again.
Slowly, you laid your head on his chest and listened to his heart racing. It was incredibly calming and you breathed in his scent, relishing in the fact that you were here, with him, right now. All was right in your world and you were thankful for the moments like these. Moments like this when you get to feel loved by someone who actually meant something to you.
He leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on your forehead and sighed.
"I need to ask you something." He asked, brushing your hair away from your face.
"Okay?" You replied, looking up at him.
"Will you marry me?"
Your eyes widened and your heart leaped into your throat. You nodded slightly and smiled softly as tears welled up in your eyes.
"Yes." You whispered, squeezing his hands.
He grinned widely and grabbed your face with both of his hands, kissing you passionately. When he finally pulled away, he was beaming at you with pride and happiness. You ran your hands down his chest and stomach and then moved them up his back, lightly tracing your fingernails against his smooth skin. He closed his eyes and savored in your touch.
"Do you know what I'm going to do when we're married?" You asked playfully, tilting your head to the side.
"What?" He asked curiously.
"I want to have a baby with you." You giggled.
He pulled you close and planted a soft kiss on your lips.
"Well, if you want kids… I think I can give you one." He chuckled, tightening his grip on your waist.
"How many?" You giggled.
"Five? Ten?"
"A hundred?!" You laughed, making him laugh as well.
"We'll see how many come after the first one." He smirked.
As your laughter died down, you tightened your embrace and placed a gentle kiss on his lips. He stroked your hair lovingly and rested his chin on top of your head.
"I love you." You whispered softly.
"I love you too." He whispered back.
Neither of you spoke anymore. The moment had been perfect and neither of you wanted it to end. Instead, you fell asleep in each other's arms, basking in the feeling of being loved and knowing that this was where you belonged.

“Come and get me.”
Din stared at the message. He had gotten it days ago, on the way to a different bounty. At first he had been confused, but after reading it a third time, it had slammed into him harder than anything had hit him.
It was Her.
He had immediately changed course for Nevarro, jaw clenched and mind racing. It had been weeks, months without any sign from her, and now just out of the blue- this message.
What was going on?
Tumblr media
-3 years prior-
Greef Karga sighed, looking at Din across the table. “Thank you for coming, Mando.”
“You said you had a specific bounty for me?” Din replied.
“Right to the point then,” the man chuckled. “I do have a bounty for you, one that...well it’s complicated.” Greef slid the puck to Din, continuing on. “She’s a thief. Stolen a fair amount from a lot of powerful people.”
Din opened the information, reading through. “She’s had a bounty for a while.”
“A few different bounty hunters have tried to catch her. Well...a lot.”
“They all failed?”
“Hence why I’m calling you. Her price increased. We’re hoping you can.”
Tumblr media
He had been chasing her for years. So long.
Bounty after bounty had been placed on her. Hunter after hunter chasing her. Din himself chasing her for far too long.
And he hated how she had gotten away from him. Slipped out of his fingers so many times, there and then gone in the blink of an eye.
Tumblr media
-2 years prior-
“Nowhere to run,” he stated. “Are you going to come quietly?”
She laughed, smirked across the alley. “I never come quietly, Mando.” She winked at him, before pulling something small out of her belt. The small capsule landed between them, and before he could react a cloud of smoke exploded.
He cursed, scrambling to switch his sights to heat, but as he could he heard her voice.
“Till next time!”
As the heat signatures appeared, it was clear she was gone, with no sight of which direction she went.
Tumblr media
Din stormed into Greef’s office. “What’s going on?”
Greef sighed. “I wasn’t expecting to see you so soon.”
“She messaged me.”
That sent the other man’s eyebrows up. “What?”
“Tell me what happened.”
“She’s wanted for murder. Bounty is high, highest in...a while, Mando.” Greef slid over the puck. “Everyone who’s free is being sent on this.”
Din caught the puck and spun it in his hands, mulling the details over. Murder? She had never murdered anyone, she hated hurting people. The only bounties she had before were for thefts and damages, this was too different.
“Why do you think she messaged you?” Greef asked, seeing him thinking.
“...I have no idea,” he stated, spinning on his heel and walking out.
Tumblr media
-1 year prior-
Din growled as he stared at Y/N over the lava river. 5 seconds prior, her arm had just been within his reach, but then she had jumped over the crumbling over the bridge. He was completely unable to follow, no jetpack, no path over the lava.
She panted, turning to face him. “Always nice to see you,” she called.
He stayed silent, trying to assess if there was any way to get to her. But no, there was no way unless he got all the way to his ship and flew to her, which would take too long.
“See you in a few months?” she asked.
“I’ll get you eventually,” he stated.
“Do you want to?” she shot back. “Some part of you must like this game of cat and mouse. Knowing that someone out there has a skill level equal to you.”
Her comment made him pause. He had never thought of it that way, only frustrated that she was always getting away, that his shots were somehow always missing. Part of his mind whispered that something wasn’t right, but maybe she was right, maybe she was just as skilled as he was.
He had never met someone good enough to fight him off like this. Did he actually enjoy it?
“Think about it!” she yelled, walking away.
Din didn’t reply, watching her go.
Tumblr media
It had taken some time, and a lot of work. But he had done it- Din had found her.
She was on a desert planet he had barely heard of before, and when he landed it was easy to find her. The natives were scarce, and tracks were easily seen.
She was his.
Still, Din couldn’t help but wonder why she had reached out to him, messaged him. What had been the point?
Din didn’t have much time to ponder it, because he found her quicker than he thought he would, launching into a fight.
Tumblr media
You stared up at Din, panting heavily. You could feel the cold metal of the knife against your throat, contrasting the warmth radiating from his body.
Why was he standing so close? It felt so close, closer than ever before, your mind screamed.
“Can’t run now,” he muttered, panting as well.
You could feel the knife dig further in, which is when your mind realized something: there was no pain. You could feel the pressure of the knife, and you knew logically, that the sharp edge was against your skin. So why wasn’t there any pain?
There was only one reason.
You laughed softly, letting your head hit the wall of the canon.
“What’s do funny?” he asked, clearly confused.
“There’s no blood, Mando,” you stated.
You could feel the pressure of the knife lessen, and his hand on your arm falter. “What?” he asked.
Through his visor you could feel his stare, steady and focused on your neck, where you knew there was no blood, no injury.
“But this means-” He paused.
“You and I both know what this means,” you said.
There was only one reason he couldn’t harm you, and therefore you couldn’t harm him: you were soulmates.
It was rare, so much so some people didn’t know of the tales of soulmates. But those who did knew the only way to find the perfect match to your soul was to see if they could harm you. Soulmates couldn’t harm each other physically, with fists, knives, guns, or anything similar.
You had never thought the reason Din could catch you or harm you was because he was your soulmate.
“Y/N,” he muttered. “I-”
A gunshot rang out, and you cried out in pain, clutching your arm and sliding behind him, who spun around immediately, covering you.
“Great job catching her, Mando!” a man called, moving out behind cover, a large grin on his face. “Figured a little extra damage would keep her sedated for us on the way back to Nevarro.”
Fuck. You were screwed, a bounty still out for you, and more complications on top of it. And now your good arm injured and bleeding heavily.
And yet...with Mando in front of you, covering your form entirely, you felt safe. You couldn’t place why, and yet you did.
Maybe this is what being with your soulmate was like.
You reached out and grasped his cloak, as if silently begging him to do something, anything.
Tumblr media
Din’s mind was racing.
He had been told of soulmates, all Mandalorians were. The only reasons to remove one’s helmet or tell another one’s name was if they were married or...if the other was their soulmate.
And this woman, now injured behind him, was Din’s soulmate. His perfect match.
The bounty hunter continued to saunter towards Din and Y/N, a smirk on his face, and Din knew his options were severely limited. Especially with the fact of her bounty. Should be go along with it for now? Buy out the bounty later? What if any plan he made now or later didn’t work and he never saw her again?
He was snapped out of his thoughts at a tug on his cloak, realizing that she was gripping it.
She needed him. Just as much as he needed her.
This ended now.
Din threw the knife still in his hands, moving quickly as it landed square in the chest of the other bounty hunter. The kid gurgled and stumbled back, and Din pulled out his pistol. He fired a shot and the body landed in the dust, letting Din spin around to face Y/N, kneeling in front of her.
“I’ve got bacta spray on my ship,” he said gently, helping her up. “Let’s go.”
“But-what about-”
“I’ll reach out to Greef Karga and figure this out,” he interrupted, wrapping an arm around her. “You’re mine. No one is taking you away from me.”
She laughed softly, leaning into him. “Protective much, Mando?”
“Din,” he said. “It’s Din.”
Tumblr media
-2 years later-
You slowly woke, feeling soft kisses being pressed over your shoulders. Smiling softly, you hummed, “Good morning.”
“Morning, cyar'ika,” Din muttered into your skin.
You slowly turned in his arms, gazing up at the man you loved. “You seem excited for something,” you commented.
“Greef reached out,” he stated, his eyes flickering over your face.
You froze. “Oh. About…”
“They’ve declared you dead,” he stated. “He sped up the process, he told me, but...we can come out of hiding.”
You smiled, tugging him down to kiss him. “You can take bounty’s again.”
He chuckled against your lips. “You can work with me.”
“Are you saying the lone ‘Mando’ wants to work as a team now?” you teased.
“Only with my soulmate,” he stated, smiling. “I’ll even let you pick the first bounty.”

⟶ Author’s note | We are finally back on track. Forgive me for the long wait. I never expected that I would take a long break with this one, but here we are now. As you may have noticed, I made a few changes in the masterpost with the changes happening with the chapters. I had to split this update into three parts, hence moving the titles around to fit the main scenes. I hope you’re having a blast with this journey. Any form of feedback is welcomed.

chapter ix. secrets
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“You seem to have been quite preoccupied lately, Your Highness,” Nanny Abigail calmly says this as she brings her cup of tea to her lips.
Even in the smallest things, she moves with full of grace. Always in a manner that would be appropriate for a royal gathering or formal dinners instead of an intimate moment of afternoon tea held on the private balcony right outside of her royal apartment.
Behind her, the golden hue of the afternoon sun shimmers beautifully above the clear sea water. The sight is so captivating that you find it hard to look away. It gives you a sense of peace and calmness, and you have always taken so much pleasure basking in its beauty each time you are invited in these small moments with your royal guardian.
“Me?” you ask her almost teasingly, while turning your attention to the sweet delicacies you have in front of you. You hide your smile when you can almost see Nanny Abigail shooting a glare at you as she takes a drink.
You wait until she lowers her cup of tea to see her pressing her lips to a grin as she softly scoffs at your feign ignorance. “Who else would I be talking about”—she squints her eyes at you—“Your Highness?”
You give her a smile in return. It isn’t often that you can joke around with your guardian this easily, so it pleases you when it happens. “Oh, you’re right. How silly of me,” you say this with a chuckle. An expression that she would often comment as un-ladylike, though she rarely does ever scold you for it when you do it while you are spending time with her in her private quarters like this.
As you carefully take a sip of your tea, you wonder to yourself just how you are going to respond to her question.
Nanny Abigail has always been perceptive. Even when she is not looking, she would still be able to see what is happening around her. So it shouldn’t come to your surprise if she has already noticed about your afternoon exploits. About your recent pastime activities and your newfound interest with the rows and rows of doors that you get to find in the long hallways within the home castle.
It isn’t like you had done a good job hiding it, after all. With how often you have managed to slip away right after tutoring hours had ended and nearly always rushed to make your leave in the late afternoon once you were done with your royal duties, anyone would have started questioning what you have been up to.
Sometimes, you would find yourself wondering if she may have known anything about these magic doors, or that perhaps she would know about the magic behind those portals.
But she appears quite nonchalant about your secret adventures as she brings it up. There is not a sight of the familiar pointed look nor the accusing tone in her assumptions. All you can sense coming from her is a deep curiosity that makes you wonder if she truly was just wondering about your past afternoon activities instead of prying to know where you have been disappearing to.
Your father’s words ring back to you right at that moment, reminding you about your duty to keep the magic behind those doors as a part of your family’s secret. After experiencing and witnessing the magic for yourself, you are beginning to feel a sense of obligation to protect it of behalf of your father and the royal family.
While Nanny Abigail has seemed unfazed with all the peculiarity that exists here in the Stargrave Castle, you still have no clue just how much about your father’s magic that she may have any knowledge of. So you quickly make a decision to keep silent about it, keeping your questions to yourself and refraining yourself from mentioning about the magic doors to her.
Not until you know for sure that she is to be trusted with your family’s secret.
“I do try my best to keep busy. This is a new place, and it makes me feel a bit anxious to be here without His Majesty being around. I feel—” you stop to make a grand gesture of glancing around. Your eyes fall on the stone walls surrounding the palace’s ground which is visible from this little balcony, and a wistful feeling overcomes you. “I still feel a bit out of place, to be honest.”
You turn back to exchange looks with your guardian who has been listening to you closely and give her a reassuring smile. “I figured that I would try to learn more about the castle by getting around and explore the territory as much as I can while I have the chance to.”
And explore the castle you did.
Every single day, from that late afternoon until right before nightfall, you would spend your time travelling across the home castle. Not only have you been venturing through the hallways where the magic doors are located, or the special rooms that your father had given you access to, but you have also gone through the other parts of the castle that you would have never paid attention to. Sometimes, you would have Lord Gordan joining you to act as a guide, guarding and showing you around the areas within the palace’s grounds while making sure that you wouldn’t get lost.
But most of the times, you would find the time to explore the castle on your own. It gives you the chance to discover the hidden places that Lord Gordan may not have wished for you to see.
Such as the hidden passageway you found at the back of the library which took you through the servants’ quarters on the lower ground of the castle.
It felt as if you had just stumbled upon a secret fortune when you reached the end of that passageway to find a small servant door leading towards where the stables is located, right behind the palace. A completely hidden and secured exit point which, for some reason, you knew deep down that it would be useful for you in the future.
You have also found a hidden stairwell which was accessible through one of the royal treasure rooms. The stairwell peaked your interest almost immediately. The fact that it seemed to be leading below the lower ground of the castle made you think that perhaps you would finally be able to find your father’s secret dungeon somewhere underground. But you were still pleasantly surprised when you found yourself arriving in a hidden wine cellar instead, surrounded by your father’s secret collection which he could have been saving up for special occasions.
Through your exploration, you have found more and more magic doors in various places within the castle. As it have been one of your main agendas in your exploration to be able to discover and try out more magic doors before your father would return to the castle and inquire you to return his special keys.
And the more you got to try the magic doors that you have found along the way, you slowly began to learn and understand more about them. Including how to recognise the specific details from each door which may hold the clue of the secret lying underneath.
Just like how the different shapes of the doors and archways may show you whether your destination would still be a part of the royal family’s property or if you are going to end up at an unfamiliar place that would no longer be within the empire’s territory, or how the intricate silver embellishments that are shown on each door would tell you what kind of places waiting for you on the other side and what to prepare.
You have also learned quite recently that the positions in which the doors are placed may indicate just how far the magic portal would take you. Some would even give you a hint where your mystery destination might be located.
Through the doors that are situated within the hallways adjacent to the King’s royal study room, you were able to travel back and forth between this palace and to various places located in Smotia. It then took a few more tries to learn that the further the magic door is located from the King’s royal study room, the further away from Smotia you would travel.
Just like the door that you found while you were strolling down the small hallway further away from the King’s royal study. You weren’t exactly planning to try any of the magic door that day. Especially not that odd one which caught your eyes while you were coming out of the hall heading towards the library. The door didn’t standout too much on first sight compared to the others, yet the magic coursing through it beckoned you to come closer, and you simply couldn’t resist the pull.
You entered the door that day without any expectation, so you were pleasantly surprised to find yourself emerging on the other side of Smotia’s borders and right across the Coyne River. It was a place called Maplekeep, a transit town located right at the outer district of Nythelean empire’s territory.
There wasn’t really much to see in the town, except for the various inns and taverns and stage stations where travelling merchants and wanderers would stop by to have an overnight breaks and rest their horses in the middle of their journey. Perhaps that had been the reason why you were able to blend in fairly well, as you were surrounded by fellow travellers minding their own business, not enough to care about a wandering damsel asking around for information from the innkeepers.
But despite not learning much about the town, it was through the impromptu trip that you managed to gain more clues as to what you can expect to find should you continue to venture through the magic doors you could find within the surrounding section of the palace.
“I’m glad to hear that you are making use of your time here to do something good and find ways to entertain yourself,” Nanny Abigail says to you with genuine relief in her voice. “I was worried that you would remain locked up in your room with how unhappy you were for quite sometime after being brought up here all of a sudden.”
You ignore her comment about the displeasure that you felt at your father’s decision to move you into this castle in such short notice. It hadn’t occurred to you that perhaps you haven’t been able to hide it, as Nanny Abigail can easily see right through you.
But you can also see right through her. And before she can have the chance to bring up your mental state about being in a new place and dive into it a bit deeper—which is something that she often does as she always has concerns over your wellbeing as your personal nanny—you swiftly turn the conversation back to your afternoon activities.
Because that feeling of displeasure has long gone now, ever since your curiosity had taken over, and the last thing you need is to go and revisit that discomfort again. It would be quite impossible for you to still feel disdain over the sudden relocation when you have found a myriad of intriguing matters to help distract yourself from it. There are so many secrets hidden within this home castle that you wish to unravel, giving you something to look forward to when a new day begins.
“My father advised me to learn as much as I could about this place in his absence, after all, and it has been quite a fascinating learning experience so far. You never really know what you could find in the most inconspicuous places behind these walls,” you calmly convince your guardian to stop her from worrying about your mental hiccups, while inadvertently testing the waters by referring to everything that you have found through your secret adventures to see if you can get any reaction from her.
Yet, as you steal a glance at her from over your cup of tea, Nanny Abigail remains stoic. She doesn’t seem to catch on to what you are trying to allude in your comments, quite surprisingly, making you wonder if you have been mistaken in assuming that she would have more knowledge about this home castle and the magic surrounding it than what she had let on.
You brush your assumptions away as you sip your tea. You decide that it wouldn’t do much help for you to know how much about magic that Nanny Abigail must have learned, or if she knows about your father’s secrets at all. She might have been your most trusted guardian, but you quickly remind yourself that her loyalty has always come to your father and your mother, the late Queen, first before yourself.
“Lord Gordan has also been so kind to join me when I needed some guidance,” you generously add, if only to show that there is nothing about your exploration that she would need to be suspicious of, as there would be someone to vouch for you should Nanny Abigail starts asking around.
“I suppose it’s a good thing that you’ve found yourself something to do with the idle hours that you have in your afternoons. It means that you are slowly finding it comfortable to have your own activities within the castle and enjoy your time here,” she claims while nodding her head.
Though you are quite sure that you can hear a hint of sarcasm as she says this. As if she is giving one last dig—the same way you have been doing it to her—to see if you might still be hiding something from her.
While it is true that you have something to hide, you have doubts that you are both thinking about the same thing.
The twitch of her lips that comes as a sign that she is holding back a grin seems to confirm this, before she continues teasing you with, “Maybe you will soon begin to welcome this place as your new home.”
You cannot help but smile in response to her jab. “And it sure beats slipping out of the castle at night to travel into town out of boredom, doesn’t it?” you tease her in return, knowing full well that the revelation of your past evening activities and witnessing you unruly actions of slipping through the window late at night still haunts her to this day.
She may not have said a thing about it. Nor had she ever brought it up.
But you can see it from time to time just how much it still bothers her. You can tell that this is also the real reason why she has grown curious to know about what you have been up to on the hours that you are not under her watch, and why she has been prodding you with her jabs and curious questions. As if she is subtly making sure that you have yet to make an effort to slip away from the home castle and disappear into the night when she isn’t looking.
“I sure hope it does,” she says with a bit more sarcasm, which reaffirms your suspicions. Yet you can also see the pride and relief in her eyes when she says this. Once it seems clear that your answers have perfectly alleviated her concerns, Nanny Abigail soon appears much calmer. You notice it when she finally changes the topic and asks, “How is the tutoring going so far?”
Thinking about the tutoring that you have been receiving simply makes you smile. Unlike the lessons and the long tutoring hours that you had to take back at The Citadel, the tutoring hours that you experience here have been a lot more pleasurable, and at the same time, intriguing.
Because not only are you being taught about etiquettes and the laws of the monarchy which applies both in this realm and the human realm part under Nythelean Empire’s ruling, followed by lessons that are teaching you about everything that you need to know about your royal heritage, you have also been learning more about the fairy tale land and the magic that exists in this realm.
Learning about everything that you have never studied before has given you a newfound enthusiasm that you feel even on the longest days of lectures.
The more you learn about magic itself, the more curious you get about your father’s secret doors and its magic portals. And with more knowledge as your guidance, the more it urges you to unfold the mystery behind them, to be able to find your escape by finding new places that you could reach and see the new world around you simply by walking through the magic portals instead of walking directly out through the palace’s gates—just like what Nanny Abigail has been concerned about.
If only you have enough time on your hands to make it worthwhile, and the courage to just step into the doors without any reservations and with a clear head to be able to observe even the smallest thing you could find. Because you have to admit that the magic that is attached to those doors is still intimidating to you, especially with how little the knowledge that you have about your father and his magic.
“It has been doing quite well. The new tutor is quite patient with me and she explains her lessons really well. Lady Laurel is also kind when she is answering my silly questions or helping me find answers whenever I feel lost, especially since I came in knowing nothing about magic and this mysterious land,” you confide to your guardian as you recall giving your tutor a long list of questions that you needed answers to about the home castle and the world surrounding it, and when she patiently guided you through the books about magic to help you learn more about them under her guidance.
Nanny Abigail seems pleased to hear this. “That is splendid,” she says while clasping her hands together in glee. “I never doubted for a second that Lady Laurel would be a wonderful tutor to fill in all the things that I couldn’t taught you. And it’s hard to have doubts when His Majesty himself claimed to have chosen the best when it comes to your education and royal lessons.”
“I suppose you can never really doubt the King’s personal choice,” you say this with a smile. “Father did choose the best guardian to take care of me, after all.”
Nanny Abigail responds to your compliment with a scoff. “I’m flattered,” she says with a mocking tone in her voice, though you don’t miss the unmistakable twitch that appears on the corner of her lips when she once again tries to conceal her smile, no doubt feeling pleased with the acknowledgement that you are giving her for her role as your guardian.
You have to admit that she deserves it. Especially for everything that she has had to put up with when dealing with you growing up. “Since you are now free from your royal duties and your tutoring for the day, have you made plans to enjoy the rest of your day off?”
At her question, you look away briefly to hide your anxious smile. Because you have made plans for the day. Though it doesn’t really involve venturing into any magic door, but to simply study them closely from outside and do some more calculating before you are back into using the portals again.
One of the things that has drawn your curiosity the most is the fact that—after trying out different doors and coming out in different places—you finally have a specific place that you wish to visit through the portals. The place that your heart has yearned to return to, despite having your memory of it getting distorted over the years that you have been away from it.
The place where you spent the short, yet the most fruitful and peaceful period of time of your childhood with your mother without having any of the royal responsibilities weighing you down. The place that you have always associated your life of freedom with before growing up in The Citadel.
The Seacrest Manor, the summer palace where you had once lived peacefully with your mother before your father came to take it all away when he brought you home to the capital.
You didn’t realise it at first, that each time a magic door took you back to Smotia, you were secretly holding hope that you would somehow be reunited with the summer palace. But each time, you have only been disappointed when none of the doors that you have tried so far could bring you back to your childhood home.
Your yearning had not been the only reason why you have been searching for ways to return. There were a lot of things that your father, King Aneas, had said to you about your childhood memories with your mother and the home castle that kept tickling the edge of your thoughts ever since the day you talked to him about your connection to this place.
You have no idea what about it that keeps troubling you, but it does make you want to see it for yourself. To see the old home of yours which your mother had built for you to know that your childhood memories had been real, instead of a distorted image which was created to fill the void that your mother had left behind in her passing.
But time and time again, just as that wishful hope kept growing, you kept getting even more disappointed. For some reason, you kept failing to find the right portal to take you back to that place. Leaving you to wonder if that place ever truly existed, or if your father had somehow made it so you would never be able to return to the summer palace ever again.
Before you can let this slip out of your lips, you bite your tongue and hide it with a smile. “I’m planning to do a bit more exploring, then maybe end the day early. Lady Laurel informed me yesterday that I would have to start revisiting my dancing lessons again starting tomorrow, just in case I would have to join my father in future royal events since we’re back home.”
Nanny Abigail regards you with a proud smile, completely oblivious to your secret mission. “I’m glad that you are focusing on your studies. But please make sure you are not overdoing yourself, Your Highness. I would hate it if I must inform His Majesty about the princess falling ill in his absence.”
You return her smile as you finish your tea. Still lost in your own musing, you don’t realise it until far too late that your guardian had just made a slip up. That while your father has been absent without any news sent to you, Nanny Abigail may have been in constant contact with His Majesty even while he is far from home.

It took you a total of two weeks of venturing through your father’s magic doors before you finally gain courage to travel further away. Down to more hallways, and with a bit more distance from your private quarters and the King’s royal chambers.
Aside from gaining more information about the doors and the magic portals, and learning how to calculate your next destination, you have also learned that the more you use the portals, the more you seem to be more aware of the enchanting voices coming from the magic.
The humming sounds that they make as they exude magic no longer scare you. Sometimes, you could even hear words faintly murmured between the indistinct humming. Though after making efforts to decipher them and failing, you finally realise that the language might be a part of ancient tongue which you have never heard or learned before.
You are quite sure that you might be able to find the right books in the palace’s library about the ancient languages of the Far Far Away land, yet it hasn’t been easy to look for these information on your own without raising questions. So you bide your time, hoping to one day find the chance and the right way to bring this up to Lady Laurel during your lessons.
Today, you are back with another adventure.
You remind yourself to stay focus, hopeful that by doing so, you would be able to memorise the faint spell. But, much to your disappointment, as you walk across the portal, the humming sound that usually engulfs you only lasts for a brief moment. While the distinct sounds of the spell sounds louder this time, it dissipates far too quickly before you manage to catch what it is trying to say.
Within moments, you emerge in a foreign room that no longer feels like a part of the home castle. As always, you take a moment to breathe, as you are still surrounded by the ripples of magic which seems to cling onto you upon stepping out of the portal, and you wait until everything settles down. Until there is nothing left but the deep silence that always follows.
Taking a long and deep inhale of breath, you can immediately sense that this place is nowhere close to home. Not to the Stargrave Castle in the magic realm, and neither it seems to be a part of any of the districts which surround Smotia.
The air around you feels warm, and a bit stale, which is quite surprising as you find yourself standing at the center of a cottage which is surrounded by fresh plants and green vegetation rapidly growing at every corner. There are massive trees growing right on the other side of the clear windows, giving you a pleasant view which shields you from the bright sunlight shining from the sky.
The cottage itself feels cozy, with big, comfortable loveseats filling the main room, a small fireplace at one corner and an adequate bedroom which appears on the other side. There are large windows overlooking the garden surrounding the cottage, and floor-to-ceiling bookshelves spread across the walls, all filled with books and journals which draws your curiosity.
As you started today’s exploration a bit early, you still have a long period of time left before you would have to return home in the nightfall. So you take the chance to look around to get to know more about this place before venturing further.
The books in the shelves and the pictures you find around the fireplace are not giving you much information about where you are. Then you walk into the bedroom, finding it looking just as normal as any regular household would. With a cozy bed taking its center, accompanied by a pair of bedsides tables with unlit table lamps, and a smaller bookshelf on the side of the room.
Aside from looking as if the bed has never once been used, there is nothing that you see here which may give you any hint or clue about this place.
But then you turn around, and an old wooden closet that is strategically placed in the corner of the room comes to view. You take a peek inside to find a row of common people’s clothing neatly hanged on one side.
There are a couple of shirts, vests, and a few pairs of pants, only enough to fill the closet to make it seem like someone actually lives in this space and has been wearing them regularly. But it only takes one touch to know that none of these items have been used. Much like the stiff wooden bed that overtakes the bedroom.
As you shift around the hanged clothes, you find some items that do seem to have been properly worn being slipped in between.
You see a couple of long cloaks and coats made of high-quality fabric. Similar to what you have seen worn by travelling merchants and landlords. They feel silky and heavy at the same time the moment you brush against them. Yet as you touch them properly to get a closer look, a hint of your father’s perfume immediately wafts through the air, engulfing you with its familiar presence.
Feeling a bit dubious, but not entirely surprised to find your father’s trace within such a modest-looking cottage, you step away from the wooden closet and have your attention drawn to a dresser placed nearby. Puzzled, as the furniture was completely out of view from the bedroom, you approach it with cautions, only to have your eyes growing wide at what you find.
Right on top of the dresser, placed neatly in front of a square-shaped mirror, are a full set of disguises that you have never seen before.
A set of bright-coloured fake long hair and nicely trimmed fake beard made in similar tone colour are set up on what seems to be the head of a mannequin doll. Seeing them and thinking about how your father may have come here through the portal from time to time, and that he would be wearing the merchant’s clothes along with these items as his disguise, you cannot help but let out an incredulous laugh.
“Oh, Father. Just what have you been up to?”

The center of the market town of Narlès is thriving with its daily business.
There is not a single shop or stall in sight that remains idle under the afternoon sun.
Merchants actively move from one shop to another to trade their goods and handle their business with the keepers. Shopkeepers are either frantically tending to their buyers who keep flocking into their outlets or promoting their merchandise loudly to attract possible customers from the streets. Errand boys and girls are seen weaving through the crowd of people in the streets and between stalls to deliver goods.
Every single thing within the marketplace seems to be constantly moving.
The rush of overflowing consumers entering and leaving the main marketplace appears like a stream of blood pumping through the veins, making it seem like the entire marketplace has become its own living entity.
Viewed from high above, all the motions happening down below becomes quite an amusing sight to see, as the Prince of Faes, Min Yoongi, observes everything with keen eyes without any of those people noticing his presence.
Perched on a line hanging from one rooftop to another, Yoongi balances himself without ever looking away from the bustling marketplace, unwilling to miss anything that is happening right this moment. Except that he isn’t here simply to enjoy the sights, nor is he here to trade goods with the merchants and shopkeepers.
Cloaked under his disguise and hidden from view, Yoongi is here on a completely different mission.
More than an hour ago, an intense wave of magic rippled through the fissure of time and space, signifying the presence of a magic portal opening. Using his magic, Yoongi traced its presence, and it led him to arrive here in Narlès, one of the busiest market towns within the human realm.
For the past two weeks, this is something that he has been doing to spend his time. As the flow of magic kept emerging in various places and always at different periods of time, it ripples back to him, calling for him to follow its trace.
So he kept following wherever the ripples of magic called for him, leading him to keep traveling to various, completely unexpected places each time the magic portal would materialise.
That would possibly be the reason why he wasn’t too surprised when he was brought back into the human realm this afternoon, after repeatedly experiencing the same thing as of late. But it does make him wonder why the magic would bring him here, of all places, after the magic portals kept bringing him back to Smotia and its surrounding territories.
Which is what this market town not a part of.
Located in the juncture between multiple neighbouring kingdoms, Narlès has become a sovereign city, established under its own autonomy instead of being ruled under any reigning kingdom. Governed by its own people, Narlès has become one of the most important trading market centers for its surrounding cities and towns, and would often act as the middle point for business trades between kingdoms.
As their immediate neighbour, Nythelean Empire and the people of Smotia have become one of their biggest consumers over the years, allowing Yoongi to grow familiar with this territory through the work that he has done under the guise of being the leader of the mercenary army.
It would have been easy for him to blend with the people in the market. But he chooses to step back, allowing him to gain the perfect peripheral vision of the entire marketplace to find what he is searching for.
Or, in this case, who.
While he continues his keen observation, a black crow cuts through the air and hovers around Yoongi briefly, before it lands on one of his shoulders. Despite his wish to completely disregard the mysterious crow’s presence, its appearance has effectively stolen Yoongi’s attention away from the bustling market, albeit briefly.
But he says nothing, and is instead turning his eyes back to the market to watch a couple of young boys running between the stalls to pursue a passing carriage with fresh delivered goods to sell.
The crow flaps his wings as it seems to follow Yoongi’s gaze into the market, then a deep voice calmly speaks,
“I don’t suppose that you came to this place today to buy some merchandise to bring home.”
The corners of Yoongi’s lips lift to a grin under the thin fabric covering half of his face which serves as a disguising mask. “Yijeong, it’s always a pleasure to have your presence,” he says in return. This time, he gives the black crow the attention that was asked of him as he looks at it through the corner of his eyes and inquires him, “But do tell me, just how did you manage to follow me all the way here?”
The black crow, who turns out to be his loyal companion merely scoffs at him. He shakes his wings in a dramatical fashion before finally answering Yoongi’s question. “It wasn’t too hard, really. As the last person who conjured the magic portal has left it widely opened in his bedchamber, glaring back at anyone who would dare to step into his room in his absence.”
Yoongi closes his eyes and curses under his breath. It isn’t like him to be so careless. Not with this kind of thing, and certainly not when it involves the magic portals. “It certainly will never happen again.”
The black crow makes a sound that seems similar to a scoff before Yijeong’s sarcastic voice speaks again, “I sure hope so.”
Yoongi snaps a quick glance at his best friend who is no longer paying attention to him. If only Yijeong had come in his human form, there is no doubt that Yoongi would have been able to see the scepticism written on his friend’s face after hearing his response. But the crow on his shoulder remains calm—aside from the slow rise of his wings which happened right after his sarcastic remark—with his eyes browsing through the crowd of people roaming through the marketplace.
Instead of noticing Yoongi’s attention, he remains silent and starts searching with his sharp eyes.
As if he knows exactly what Yoongi has been trying to find down there.
“Don’t worry,” Yijeong continues without looking at his Prince, “I’ve covered your portal for the time being before jumping into it. I also made sure that no one would be able to enter your chamber until you would return home.”
“Thank you,” Yoongi says with a sigh of relief. “I really appreciate it. I meant it when I said it won’t happen again.”
The black crow chuckles. “I’m not sure why you are making promises to me. I’m not the one you should be answering to if anyone ever discovers your secret.”
Yoongi says nothing in return. Because Yijeong is right, after all.
Guilt pulls at him when he imagines what his carelessness would have caused, and how much trouble he would have found himself in if Yijeong had not been at the right place and time to find and fix his mishaps.
Not only would it have spoiled Yoongi’s secret mission—one that must be kept from anyone other than his own people—but it would have also unveiled some of the best-kept secrets behind the family magic that has been passed down from one generation to the next, including Emperor Aymon’s past choices which may have changed the course of Fate of every living being in the Land Far Far Away who are somewhat connected to the Emburn Empire.
The magic behind the creation of the portals connecting various realms, and the spell that could be used to bend and manipulate time and space was a huge part of the ancient magic passed down within his family from Yoongi’s blood ancestors who once ruled the land of Emburn.
The magic behind it was so sacred that only the chosen ones among the bloodline would be able to conjure the spell, and those chosen ones have always become the ones deserving of the throne, chosen not only to preserve the ancient spells but also to use it to rule and maintain the prosperity of the empire, the sacred land of Emburn, and its people.
Just like how Emperor Aymon has been harnessing this powerful magic to rule his empire, and how Yoongi would one day harness it once he ascends to the throne in place of his father.
At least, this is how it was supposed to be.
Except that there will be no need for Yoongi to wait until the day his father steps down from the throne to be able to harness the magic behind the portals connecting the realms. As Emperor Aymon has long since passed down the magic into Yoongi’s hands, allowing him to conjure the spell and summon the portals and use them to go through with his mission.
Emperor Aymon made the decision to pass it down early once he realised that his ailing body would not be able to take on all of the flowing mana needed to rule and maintain his empire. On the day that Emperor Aymon sent Yoongi on his mission, he already knew that it would have been consequential for Yoongi to be able to master the spells to travel easily between realms to fulfil his final wish.
That was when he bent the rules that his ancestors had made for reigning emperors and transferred his mana, passing down the ancient magic coursing through his veins to his son, to best prepare him for his journey.
“Harness the magic and wield it the best you possibly can and to however you need it throughout your journey ahead. This magic will help you on your travel, and help protect you from any evil will that you may come across in your way.”
But that is not the only secret that Emperor Aymon had kept for many years. One that he never once revealed to anyone until the day he shared it with Yoongi before sending him on his way.
That on the day the ancient magic was passed down to Emperor Aymon from the previous ruler, there was another who was granted the same blessing. It was someone who, after being taught properly how to harness the ancient spells to their own benefit, had managed to find a way to alter the original form of the magic to make it their own.
And that person is the one that Yoongi has been spending years trying to find.
Years of following nothing but their shadows, until the most recent rise of magic allowing him to know that they have finally returned to the Land of Far Far Away.
It wasn’t hard to recognise the space-bending spell. As much as they have altered the magic behind it, there is still the familiar flow of mana behind it—an identifying signature of the ancient magic of Emburn that Yoongi could easily recognise once manifested.
Yet as he began following the traces left behind by the magic portals, Yoongi was caught by surprise to what he found. Because the person behind it, the one who has been harnessing the magic to open the magic portals, hasn’t been the one he was expecting to find.
But the surprise has been a welcomed one nonetheless, when he kept seeing you emerging on the other side of the portals. It has been a miracle which he could only thank the universe for happening, yet Yoongi immediately knew at the very first revelation that he couldn't make any rash decisions.
Not until he could finally make sense what exactly has been going on. He needs to know what you are up to and how have you managed to use the magic spells to summon the portals. And then, once—if ever—he finds the answer, he would have to find away to figure out where you have been coming from.
This is the reason why he is up here, observing the situation, instead of hastily chasing your shadows the same way he has been doing for quite a while.
As if Yijeong has been following Yoongi’s train of thoughts in their silence, he suddenly shifts on Yoongi’s shoulder as he questions the Prince, “Haven’t had enough of stalking her yet, have you?”
Yoongi doesn’t bother to look at his friend as he scoffs to say, “I’m not stalking her.”
“Really?” Yijeong’s voice is filled with scepticism, which isn’t showing much due to his current form. But Yoongi can still feel it when Yijeong questions him again, “Then what have you been doing, Your Highness?”
Yoongi is hesitant to answer at first. He isn’t quite sure why he is still keeping his distance.
After almost getting caught on the day he followed your trail to emerge—completely unexpectedly—at the royal orchard house, Yoongi has his own suspicions that you might have caught on to his presence. Even if you have yet to see him with your own eyes.
But Yoongi has certainly noticed the changes in your behaviour as of late, when you have grown more cautious during your explorations ever since your trip to the royal orchard house. You have been making it hard for Yoongi to keep up with your movements, always disappearing from sight before Yoongi could get any closer, as if deliberately doing so to stop him from witnessing your return to the magic portals.
“I’m just—making sure she’s safe,” he begins explaining himself. “If our intel on her had been correct about her never stepping foot in the fairy tale land before, then I don’t think she really has a good grasp on the magic that she has been using. That may explain why she’s been quite reckless. Understandably so, if you think about how new all of this must have been for someone like herself, if she—just as we both suspected—has truly only been raised in a world without magic. She must have only gained access to the Wicked King’s magic quite recently, so she is bound to be curious to see and experience everything while she has the chance to.”
Yes, this must have been the case, Yoongi wonders to himself. This is what he has caught on to so far, after observing your activities as of late and how you seem to be handling the magic spell and the portals.
As someone who has been able to open the portals this easily and walk through them to reach the places that you have been to, you don’t really seem like someone who is quite used to the portals and the aftereffects of the magic behind them. It is quite obvious that this is all new to you, and this knowledge is something that has piqued his own interest to know more about you—about your story and your secrets—before he would finally make his move to approach you.
“Just like her mother did, you mean?” Yijeong suddenly asks him, surprising Yoongi how it rubs him the wrong way when the missing Queen is being mentioned.
Yoongi furrows his brows as he considers how to answer his friend. While there had been many speculations about the circumstances behind the Queen's disappearance, this is one among the many theories that both Yoongi and Yijeong heard being spread among the people of Smotia which somehow made sense.
That the Queen may have access to the portal and was lost in it.
“We don’t really know if that was really the case with the Queen,” Yoongi carefully says. “Unless we can find out more about the portals and how she is capable of accessing them, which is something that may not happen until I can get closer to her. So we should refrain from making too many assumptions until then.”
“I suppose you’re right,” Yijeong says, surprising Yoongi when his friend easily agrees with him instead of arguing. Although he notices soon enough that it is only because Yijeong has had his attention drawn somewhere else.
“Speaking of you being right and someone being reckless—” Yijeong starts, drawing Yoongi’s attention back to the busy market, allowing him to see exactly what his friend is seeing.
Even when you are hidden under the guise of your worn-out cloak, he can still easily find you among the crowd. He sees you weaving your way through the marketplace, swiftly moving from one stall to another, obviously captivated by everything that you are seeing—the market, the people, the goods that they are selling. So much so that you fail to notice a few other movements happening close by, with every single one of them following every step you make.
As flashes of swords, blades, and other metal objects keep peeking from under their cloaks, Yoongi can easily tell that they are not the kinds of people whose presence he should take lightly. Not with the hostility that he can sense from them even through the distance.
“Fates,” Yoongi swears in rage.
And he immediately sets off, leaving his hiding place behind to jump straight into the heart of the marketplace to follow your footsteps, ensuring your safety even from a safe distance if he must, before unwanted danger finds its way to reach you.

Being the two youngest among the autobots it's no surprise from anyone that you both ended up together. You two were like teenage lovebirds, sweet to one another and always expressing your love. There is one thing though that hasn't quite happened yet, and that's interfacing.
There's no skill from either of you when it comes to interfacing, both completely new to it, virgins, and it's something you've both held out on for a long time, seeing no right moment for it to happen just yet. You did wonder why you haven't felt the need to do it with Bumblebee yet, though when you both talk to Ratchet about it he says it's normal to feel not ready, and that everyone feels different when it comes to something so intimate. He expressed that rushing or forcing it to happen won't help, and might cause either of you to express distress or regret.
So, you wait, and wait, until the moment happens.
On earth it's the new year, an event humans celebrated before the start of a new year. You and Bumblebee sat on top of the ark having the perfect view of where the fireworks were going to be set off. Everyone else was doing their own thing, even taking part of the celebration with Sparkplug, Spike and Carly among the other humans.
Bumblebee and you decided to have your time together, to spend time and share your love in your own privacy. Resting yourself against his chassis you gently trace your digit against his arm plating, optics looking over the spectacular view you both have, knowing you have the best seats in the house for the fireworks, which were to be set off within the next hour.
"Earth sure has its own beauty." You hear yourself whisper calmly.
"That it does, wish everyone sees it like we do." Bumblebee agrees through a tender hum. "Guess that's what makes us good together."
"Aye, very true." You snuggle into his side, nuzzling your face gently into the crook of his neck and let out a low purr. For a moment you continue to do this, before you feel his frame twitch slightly and hear his venting hitch. "What's wrong?"
"N-nothing..."
"You're a terrible liar." You can't help but smirk faintly before lifting yourself to look at him better. "Bee, what's got you tense?" You then feel his frame more, noticing his heat increasing. "You're heating up..."
"Yeah, I know." He sounds nervous, unsure even. "I...it's fine, I'll be fine."
"Don't keep secrets from me. You never have before, don't start now." You touch his face plating, caressing the area and getting him to look at you. "You can tell me anything, always."
For a moment he's quiet, before finally confessing. "Remember what Ratchet said? The moment will happen when it happens..."
"Yeah?" Confused, you stare at him, than you slowly figure out what's wrong with him. "Bee, are you aroused?"
"I think so?"
"Oh..."
He's indeed warming up more as you continue to caress his cheek plating without even realising it, and by the time you do, his plating is so warm, pinkish hue appearing in his face as you feel yourself growing oddly warm too. The sight of him like this, it sends a strange warm buzz through you, and now it's your turn to crumble in nerves.
"I think I am too." You barely manage to say while fiddling with your servos.
"Alright. So...what now?" Bumblebee sounds embarrassed, but you feel it too. Neither of you had any experience, and you already guessed that when it did happen it was going to be a learning experience, it just so happened suddenly without warning.
"Maybe we could touch one another?" You've seen videos, you both have of course, so you still had an idea where to begin.
Bumblebee nods, going along with it, and you lay back down before shyly moving your servo between his thighs and across his heated panel. You hear him let out a hitched exhale at contact, the heat continues to boil, before his panel retreats and and you watch as his spike emerges out of its housing.
Your digits lightly ghost across the twitching length, before gently wrapping your servo around the base and giving him a slow pump, feeling some of the soft bumpy ridges as his spike throbs eagerly under your touch. This feels good, and you're making him feel good.
Bumblebee is unable to suppress his sounds as he feels himself heat up even more throughout his entire frame, his waist bucking slightly under your touches before realising he should be touching you.
Shifting closer, you shyly retract your panel and your untouched valve is exposed for him to explore. Moving his own servo between your legs, your optics flutter as you feel his digit skip against your valve, feeling the odd bundle of nerves and warmth settling within you and growing more velvet-like, smooth and tender.
Moving your legs more apart you give him better access, keeping your servo wrapped around his pulsing spike while still gentilly pumping him, letting out soft vents as you feel his digits play between your valve lips. It's all an exploring adventure between you two, and you still have time before the fireworks and new year start.
Bumblebee skips a digit across your node that causes your body to jolt from the contact, followed by a whimpered mewl, and this makes him stop.
"Did I hurt you?" He's worried he's done something wrong.
"N-no, no, you didn't. Just felt...surprised, but in a good way." That's the best way you can answer it. "How about me? Is this alright?"
"Yeah, I like it." He says through an aroused gentle smile. "I'll keep going?"
Nodding is your answer and he resumes his actions. The two of you touch one another, bringing your arousal levels up quickly much to your surprise, covering your mouth a little to muffle your increasingly desired whimpers as your optics flutter close due to the boiling heat rushing through you.
At some point, and somehow, you end up straddling his lap, sharing a heated kiss with him as you grind yourself along his length, you're soaking valve lubricating his spike like overcharged beasts craving a good rutt. But this isn't that, this is your first time, and you're both ready. The ridges stimulate against your node, adding to the growing arousal and building more fluids through your channel.
Your growing moans are faint against his inner neck, glossa darting out to lick along his neck cables, causing his frame to quiver along with his own increasing moans, his spike begging to be buried in your valve. Meeting his baby blue optics, you caress his warm cheek, as he does the same to you, sharing dainty smiles, young love blooming even more, before you grab hold of him and position yourself against his leaking tip, slowly sinking as you let out a shaky exhale.
Grabbing hold onto his shoulders you control yourself as his spike stretches your channel, letting out a soft hiss feeling the burning sensation snap through your valve, tearing your seal and your lover claiming your innocence. The pain does linger, but not for too long, and it's not long before you're fully seated in his lap with his pulsing spike stretching through you.
Bumblebee lets out a stuttered hiss between clenched dentas with his servos gripping at your waist, holding you still while his face tightens as if he was both in pain and feeling overpowering pleasure. Only a few drops of tears stream down your cheek plating, and than they cease. It's not until you move slightly that Bumblebee jolts and lets out a startled groan before there's another warmth filling you.
"W-what was that?" You can't help but ask, the small burning pain still surrounding your valve, his spike twitching along with the warm fluids that suddenly soaks your inner channel.
"I...I think I overloaded?" Bumblebee doesn't even sound sure. "Sorry, I'm sorry. I didn't mean for it to happen so fast, it just caught me off guard, and feels so good."
"Its alright. I mean, I'm more lubricated now, right? Can I move a little?" He nods and you slowly rock your hips. You're still unsure how to move, just that you try to stimulate yourself on him.
Even though he's already overloaded he feels the pleasure still against your rocking hips, moaning into your neck as he rests his servos against your hips, gently holding you against him while you slowly roll into his lap. The burning sensation slowly vanishes and the pleasure soon grows more fierce within you, grinding your node between your bodies in perfect sync as you keep his spike buried in your valve. It's all happening, and you want to finish it perfectly.
Your thoughts grow foggy as you continue to ride him while he bucks up slightly against your movements his spike twitching wilding even more much to your surprise, and hearing his startled venting hitching, you can only guess he's surprised himself that he's growing hard again, a second overload slowly building in him than.
No words are needed between you two and let the moment happen. His servos roam across your hips and waist, holding you close still as you start to bounce on his spike more, letting out moans and hitched vents while he thrusts up into your lightly, sounds increasing more vibrant from you, loving every second of it, silently questioning yourself why you never did this sooner.
"Bee, Bee..." His name moans from your lips, licking them eagerly as you feel yourself grow more hot and your thighs start shaking, servos resting closely against the back of his neck.
"Primus...oh Primus!" He stuttered loudly, arms clinging onto your quivering frame and jerks again deep in you.
In the exact moment, right at midnight, your overload erupts through your systems, your fluids flooding through, as you let out a high pitched moan mixing in with the fireworks setting off in the distance. You hold yourself against his chassis and nuzzle into his inner neck, purring gently between vented breaths, savouring the warm buzz still swimming.
"Oh Bee, that was wonderful." You say to him fondly. "Twice?"
"Yeah, twice." He chuckles lightly, sounding not fully convinced he was able to overload twice so fast. "Didn't think that was possible, yet it happened. Primus, I'll love you forever."
"As I will too." You share a tender kiss with him, caressing his warm cheek platings under your servos. "Happy new year, Bee."
"Happy new year, my love."

cw: nsfw, a little suggestive, mentions of sexual acts, no smut yet, pet names (no use of y/n), pining, poly!satosugu mentions, childhood friends to lovers trope, explicit language, bickering + petty arguments (not much in this chapter)

CHAPTER TWO
“i mean what else is there to say?” geto’s voice floated through the spring air. “if he won’t give you an answer, i can’t help either. i have no clue what happened.”
“it’s something, suguru—”
“is this your way of blaming me, princess?”
you turned around, walking backwards for a brief moment on your path to the apartment pool with geto. a frown sat on his lips as he took in your words. but you shook your head curtly. his words make you let off a tired sigh before responding.
“what i’m saying is, there’s something we’re missing,” you stressed, voice putting emphasis on your words. “gojo isn’t one to hide anything.”
“trust me, i know,” geto said as he walked behind you. watching as you turn back around, your black slippers pitter-pattering against the stone pathway that leads to the gated entrance to the pool. his eyes raked over your body, taking in the hot pink swimsuit top against your brown skin, your bottoms hidden under a long sarong that was tied around your waist. a pattern that consisted of flowers that matched the color of the top adorned the fabric. unimaginable thoughts jumbled in his head, but his face showed no signs of any of them.
geto was a mess. he had been a mess since you all were younger, honestly. he had always attracted partners left and right. but, he always had his eyes set on two people in particular. sure, he engaged in being intimate with others — he even had a short-lived relationship that consisted of him and two partners. though that relationship ended horribly, but he only had himself to blame. he remembered them both storming out, going on about him not giving them enough within the relationship. they were not wrong, but he was trying his best. though he never could get over the fact that they were not the two people he saw every night in his dreams.
they were not you.
they were not gojo.
geto lost control for a while when he got to college. falling for anyone who set their sights on him. waking up next to people he knew he had no business being with. some nights, he even brought home people who merely reminded him of you and gojo. opting for not seeing their faces in certain positions, but still never satisfying his need to have you both to call his own. he would wake the next morning to their back facing him, letting the room fill with peace. only a low snoring was heard from the other side of the bed as he relished in the idea of the person being one of the two he was most familiar with.
“gimme your sunscreen so i can put it on your back,” you ordered as you made him sit in one of the lounge chairs. his back facing you as you had moved around him. pulling it from his pocket shorts, geto handed you the tube of sunscreen quickly. his fingers brushing over your own in the process. pulling the hair tie that held half of his hair up out of his hair, you worked to gather all of his hair and pull it into a man bun. the expanse of his broad shoulders fully revealed with his lack of a shirt, your stomach fluttering at the sight.
then his thoughts began again.
geto did not shy away from his feelings mentally. he knew he was in love with the two of you equally. so the events with gojo were like a slap in the face. they affected him much more than he had let on. but how could he show that when he knew you both would look at him differently if he were to confess? so, he had begun to cling on to hope that things would resolve themselves after a while — to no avail.
your hands running across his back, around his shoulders, and near the back of his neck were enough to plummet him into the many times he had wished you were with him daily. wished your arms were wrapped around him as you held him, running your fingers through his hair.
“here,” you said as your arm jutted out over his shoulder, handing him the tube of sunscreen back. geto’s own hand grabbed at your wrist subconsciously as he pulled your arm to him and pressed a kiss into your warm skin as you broke him out of his thoughts. an action that made your breath hitch in your throat.
that’s new, you thought.
but geto had no reaction to what he had done as he grabbed at the sunscreen. as if it were just a normal interaction between you two. muttering about something under his breath that you could not hear. then he stood quickly, pulling the lever on the lounge chair to allow the back to lay flat.
“lay down, let me put yours on,” geto almost demanded. “take the skirt off; you’ll be uncomfortable.” something had clearly gotten under his skin, especially with the way he had reacted unusually, but you figured it would be best to leave it alone. having already put sunscreen on the front of your body, you removed the sarong tied around your waist, a laugh leaving your lips at his proclamation of it being a skirt.
“it’s not a skirt,” your laughter caused your words to come out choppy, “it’s called a sarong.”
“skirt, sarong. you know what i mean, princess,” geto jokes even in his grumpy mood, watching as you throw the fabric over the arm of the chair and lay down.
dammit. maybe i shouldn’t have asked you to lay down. he thought as he watched you move in order to get comfortable on the lounge chair.
your braids had been pulled into a low bun, and your back on full display. usually, geto could hide his wandering eyes, but now he was lucky you were not facing him, as he got a better look than earlier. the pink swimsuit bottoms showing just the bottom of your butt as you laid down. holding in a groan, the man pulled himself together and readied the sunscreen in his hand, rubbing at your back gently.
“sugu…,” you sighed.
“hmm?”
“have you ever thought of being a masseuse?” you questioned half-jokingly. his hands felt amazing. too amazing. it was stirring up something inside of you that should not be making itself known. a certain feeling had begun to make its way between your legs.
“no, should i? how about i make it my side job?” geto chuckled, his eyes trained on your back.
“yeah, it feels good,” you sighed and it almost made geto fall apart. “charge like a hundred dollars for a massage.”
“you must want me to go out of business with those prices. one hundred dollars right from the start of the business?”
geto laughed as he finished with the sunscreen, standing to his full height as he looked at you. your eyes closed and your face relaxed. ‘relaxed’ — something that he wished you knew at all times. but with this situation with gojo, he knew you would never be relaxed if it were left up to them.
the time by the pool was well spent; a few people had been outside too, and someone had even shown up playing music from a speaker. the volume low and mellow as the lyrics of some slower songs had played out in their entirety. the sound droned out in the background as you and geto got into the elevator, waiting for the doors to slide close.
“wait, hold it!”
a voice called out in the distance, causing geto’s hand to jut out in order to stop the automatic doors. your head lifting from your phone screen to look at the entrance of the elevator. your bright-haired best friend making his way towards you and geto.
“be nice, sugu,” you said with a small smile as you greeted the man getting into the elevator, “hey, ‘toru!”
“hey, beautiful. geto.”
oh god, you internally groaned.
“gojo.”
“we just left the pool! we wanted to invite you, but you weren’t in your apartment when we got ready.” you tried to shift the conversation as the elevator ride seemed to drag on.
“maybe next time. got a little busy this morning. had to study for my exam in my biology class tomorrow,” gojo started with a light apology, a smile playing at his lips.
“oh, you study now?”
almost had it.
geto’s words broke between you and gojo’s conversation. just as the elevator dinged, signifying you were on the fourth floor.
“mhm. guess you could say i’m turning over a new leaf,” gojo answered dryly. but there was an air of something hidden behind his words as he exited the elevator.
gojo was telling the truth, somewhat. he had been out studying. but he was home when you and geto came knocking at his apartment door. his feet were quiet against his wooden floors, as he had known the distinct little knocking pattern you had used all the time. his hand jutted out slightly to reach for the door knob, but his movements halted when he heard geto’s voice on the other side of the door too.
his smile fading just a bit as he neared the door silently. looking through the peephole at you two on the other side. you stood in front of geto, a pretty smile laying across your glossed lips as a hopeful glint played at your eyes. you looked…beautiful. geto stood behind you in just black swimming shorts and a towel draped on his shoulder. his hair half up and half down, a style that you all had grown accustomed to.
the two of you…looked beautiful.
see this was not a case of gojo being jealous of you two. no, this…this was something else.
his hand hovered over the door knob still, eyes still peering out through the peephole as your smile seemed to falter just a bit. the lack of response definitely started to steal what hope you cling on to.
“he probably isn’t home...”
geto tried to lay it out lightly, it seemed. which gojo was somewhat thankful for as he watched you both saunter off, presumably towards the swimming pool.
gojo had begun to feel guilty for his actions as time began to tick by. not only towards you, but towards geto. it was purely jealousy that had him stuck in his ways. but once again, the jealousy was not aimed towards you and geto. no, he had felt a sense of longing for the both of you for quite some time — it was ridiculous to him, honestly. for a long time, he had thought that you three were meant to be together.
his jealousy was aimed at geto and the people he had watched geto bring home—
deciding he needed some air, gojo shook his head free of any thoughts. removing himself from the door as he grabbed some of his belongings and threw them into a backpack. the walk to his suv was quiet and quick. he did not want to run into any of you when leaving the building; surely that would make for an awkward story about how he had not heard you knocking.
the library.
he had decided he was going to go to the library. hell, you would probably be proud of him for thinking of going to the library rather than the pool. the thought made him push a little chuckle through his lips as he started the black suv. working his way through the parking lot.
he wanted the both of you in his arms. not to be distancing himself from geto, and ultimately feeling like he’s causing you stress. he had not learned to deal with his emotions, had not matured in a way that could allow him to feel like he would not be hurt if he were to just tell this all to geto. or maybe even to you. which he did not understand.
he never had a hard time expressing himself.
he never hid anything from you two.
he never held a grudge.
gojo had begun to wonder if he was experiencing heartbreak from someone he had never even been with. why was it making him so bitter? why did it make seeing geto’s face such a hard task? why was his brain a mixture of emotions when around the two of you?
this was not right; you two were his best friends. he needed to talk to you at some point. have a sit-down and just let everything out. but how? how would he even bring it up?
“hey, i’m in love with the both of you. you both drive me insane. i would give you both the world. also, i am so deathly afraid of geto hurting the both of us emotionally.”
gojo let out a laugh to himself behind the steering wheel.
“i sound like i’m losing my fucking mind.”
he was losing his mind.

"Unrequited"
Scaramouche x reader
Genre: Angst
(sorry guys I lied)
Chapter 1 , Chapter 2
Tumblr media
(Present day)
Under the vast expanse of the night sky, Scaramouche found himself once again drawn to the streets of Inazuma. It had been years since he last walked these familiar paths, yet the memories of his time here with y/n remained etched in his heart like an unyielding tattoo.
As he wandered through the dimly lit streets, a sense of longing stirred within him, a yearning for something he had thought lost forever. But tonight, beneath the shimmering stars, fate had other plans.
In a twist of destiny, y/n found herself wandering through the same streets of Inazuma, her heart heavy with memories of a love she had forgotten. She had carried the weight of their separation with her for years, a burden that seemed to disappear with each passing day.
But tonight, as if guided by some unseen force, their paths collided once again. Scaramouche's breath caught in his throat as he caught sight of her, a vision of beauty amidst the shadows. And in that moment, time seemed to stand still as their eyes met across the crowded street.
For a heartbeat, neither of them moved, their gazes locked in a silent exchange of emotions too powerful to put into words. And then, as if drawn together by an irresistible force, they began to move towards each other, the distance between them shrinking with each step.
And when they finally stood face to face, the world around them faded into insignificance, leaving only the two of them in their own private universe. Without a word, Scaramouche reached out, his hand trembling as it brushed against y/n's cheek, as if confirming that she was real, that she was here.
Tears welled in Scaramouche eyes as he reached out to her, her fingers intertwining with his as if they were never meant to be apart. And in that moment, all the pain and heartache of the past melted away, replaced by a warmth and a love that had never truly faded.
"I thought I lost you," Scaramouche whispered, his voice raw with emotion.
"Sorry,"
"But who are you?"
y/n replied, her voice soft but filled with conviction. "Have I met you before? You seem to know me."
And with those words, the weight of Scaramouches chest became heavier, then. Ah, yes... He erased himself. Why would she remember him?
"I-... You remind me of someone..."
He said.
"May I know who's that 'someone'?"
Y/n asked, as Scaramouche looked at her with eyes full of emotions.
"She was my Lover, my soulmate and my everything."
'But I lost her'
"She must be a Amazing person, I hope you guys will see eachother soon. '
'I already have'
"Yes she's great she's the most Amazing, Beautiful, gorgeous, loud, crazy and fragile girl I have ever seen— She was with me from the start to the day we've been separated."
A hand landed atop at Scaramouches hand,—It was y/n, and she wore the cheeky smile she always had. With gentleness she pulled scaramouche into a hug, a warm hug—the hug he missed.
The nonexisting heart scaramouche has started beating faster every minute. His eyes started to tear up as he wrapped his arms around her, tighter.
"There, there. How about we take a walk? "
Y/n suggested.
Scaramouche obviously said yes, and there Two souls met again. Are they for each other I don't know?. All I know is for in the end, love always finds a way, even in the darkest of nights. And as long as they had each other, they knew that they could weather any storm, overcome any obstacle, together, forevermore...
"That is the end of the story, now, kids go to sleep now you don't want your father to get mad"
"But MOOOMM! Did they end up together? What happened to the two souls?? MOOOMMMM!"
A little boy with an e/c boy with platinum hair asked.
"Well, they're meant for each other yes, but fate is unpredictable. And in the end one's soul isn't meant for each other despite how strong their love is for each other."
"What do you mean by that mama?"
A girl with cherry-red eyes spoke.
"Let's just keep that a secret for now little ones"
Their mother closed the book and returned it to the upper shelf.
"But maa!!!"
They both cried until the door opened up revealing a Platinum-blond haired man.
"What's the commotion all about?"
His, calm husky voice asked.
"Zuha, please take the children to the bed please hon,"
"Noted dear, how about you?"
"I'll stay here for a little longer,"
"Ok, Goodnight love"
He said as he kissed her forehead.
"Good night, love you"
She replied returning the kiss.
For 2,000 years. Generation by generation, The lost wanderer stays loyal—to her. He has loved each and every version of her. Every millennium, every year, each time he sees the smile on her face, it'll take him back to the day he was still a lone kabukimono who fell for a mortal, a fragile human girl. Every time he falls—she falls for another— The wanderer of Inazuma, the gentleman Kaedehara Kazuha.
Did he mess up so bad that he can't have a future with her? But aside from all, his heart stays loyal for her even if generation by generation he sees her fall with him, die with him. And forget everything he, He still remembers how you smile with the smallest things and laugh with pure joy.
Yet, if possible he wished and hoped, One the universe's out there, they can have their happy ending. Their small family— where they'll live besides the river with 3 kids and 2 cats.
"Y/n, even if I have to wait for Millions, billions, heck even Eternity, even if I have to fight Gods, Angels. EVERYTHING just to see your smile, even if your heart is fixed to another. I love you, more than everything. You're my Roman Empire..

god, forgive me.
part three of n/a.
Tumblr media
ricky rocks. i always forget to update this story even though it's my favorite plot tbh
kathaholics 🦵
finn guess who we just fucking found
sab god himself?
josh we were a little more luckier than that
enya luckier than god?
enya can't wait to hear this
josh the bitch who lit stacy on fire
finn she's coming to smoke with us
sab oh great, another deadbeat to add to our group
josh how could you say that, chicago is a national treasure
josh she did what no one else could do
sab josh, she basically committed arson
finn no, we weren't lucky enough for that
finn more like, third degree burns
josh arson would be like if stacy had just completely disintegrated
josh which sadly did not even come close to happening
"these two jackasses would get themselves expelled if they ever talk like this in public."
"what do you mean?" enya snorts, "they talk like this all the time in public. neither of them have a filtered thought to save them."
louis watches the continuation string of messages between finn and josh dogging on stacy golifolk feed through his screen within their groupchat to no end. he lied in the back of their rec room on an old dusty chair while sabrina and enya continued to discuss how stupid their two friends were.
"louis, you ready to go soon?"
louis perked his head up to sabrina's inquiry, finding both of them looking at him now.
"what?"
"the graveyard," she nodded, "ditching school... remember?"
louis dips his head back as if suddenly being hit with recollection, “oh yeah, uh… no.”
“no?” sabrina is on her knees know, hanging off the back of the couch as she looks at him in surprisal.
“yeah, you seemed to have heard me correctly.”
“okay, no need to be rude about it, blockhead,” enya barges in, looking widely distasteful to his disinterest. “you’re the one who wanted to go.”
“and now i don’t.”
enya rolls her eyes before mumbling, “fucking cunt,” then turning back around to sit normally on the orange couch both her and sab were on. sab still watched him, more with confusion than annoyance that enya was hunkering.
“what’s up with you?”
kathaholics 🦵
josh yo, wtm
josh i got my bag and we already hopped the fence, so the rest of you fuckers better be on the way
sab looks up from her phone as he still scanned josh's messages, “so, you going or not?”
louis feels a strain of annoyance in his chest and a flash of heat flare upon his face; anger. for some reason, he felt a large amount of annoyance and irritation with sabrina still talking to him even after his rejection. he felt this a lot lately, and not just with sabrina, but right now she was putting the cherry on top of increasing his bad mood.
“fuck off, sabrina.”
**
“do you fuckers have no sense of time?”
“relax fuck face, you act like your mental watch is so good.”
“when weed’s involved, it’s immaculate.”
enya gave a hefty sigh before swinging her bag onto her designated seat. she then looked up, analyzing the three sets of red eyes before her, she smirks, “well, well, well, if it isn’t the woman of the hour.”
“my fellow candle stick holder.”
sabrina rolls her eyes as you and enya lean toward one another to shake hands, and you’re just beaming with a thin pressed smile of amusement. she couldn’t believe this was happening.
“ladies, take a seat. you know where you belong,” josh extends his arms out to the dusty old cushions that filled the area across from him
the graveyard was an old abandoned boys school from the 1950s that was never tore down, but rather left for catholic delinquents to discover and deem as there smoke spot. the five of them currently sat in a rusty old school bus that was cleared of most its seats and replaced with scruffy old couch cushions, bean bags, and really anything to provide comfort.
you were beyond amazed at the craftsmanship when your two new friends pulled you into what was the perfect smoke spot. your urge to spark up had increased immediately upon the sight, cutting your tour short and landing all three of you on the couch shoved all the way to the back.
“aye, where is louis at?”
“his cunt ass decided he didn’t want to come,” the sour tone of enya's voice suddenly covered every part of the bus, making everyone look up to her.
you were quick to catch onto the look josh and finn share over you despite being in your high state. her tone was very sobering and somehow you felt ten times more aware of everything all because of her clear distaste for this louis boy.
“fuck, why is that?”
“fuck if i know, louis has a fuckin’ stick up his ass lately.”
“isn’t that right.”
“sorry, who are we talking about?” your face screws up while you pass on the blunt you had to finn, looking between each of them subtly.
“louis partridge,” finn inhales “brown hair, brown eyes, and apparently a recent stick inputted into his ass.”
“such a clear decipher, almost like you didn’t just describe every walking fuck in our school,” enya rolls her eyes at finn and the vague features he offered, then looking to you. "he's the same year as us, was going to be top boy."
her provided information wasn't anymore of a help either.
"what?" however, a burst of energy seized through the group upon the relevance of it.
"lou was going to be top boy?" sabrina's posture was pulled straight as the rest of them, looking for clarification from enya--all she does is shrug.
"no wonder louis has been such a prick lately. he has to start fulfilling the roll," finn chuckles to himself, slowly starting to slouch back down. "too good for us."
"hey, whatever man, good for him," josh lightly taps finn, "maybe we'll finally get coed bathrooms and cig breaks like we've been petitioning for since first year sense we know someone on the board now."
"you guys are disgusting," enya rolls her eyes.
"what, you think they won't go for the dart breaks between class?"
you think enya's eyes are about to fall out of her head by the amount of eye rolls she's had in the past five minutes. you suppress your snicker as she looks at them with a dead stare.
"yeah, good luck with that one," she readjusts herself. "louis doesn't seem to give a damn about us, let alone your first year petitions."
"cmon, en, it was just one thing. he was only pissy because of coming down off of whatever josh gave him this morning," sabrina's voice lightens in defense of him, pushing enya further in annoyance.
"it wasn't just one thing. he's been a dick for the past couple of months. you can't tell me he hasn't when we're the ones who always have to deal with it because these two dimwits are too high half the time to even speak," her pointer finger jabs in your general direction in reference to both finn and josh who seemed shocked to her accusation. "tell me you didn't forget just because you've known him for so long."
there are hints of more spite that intertwined within the sentence, and you wonder why.
"well, I have known him for a long time."
"we all have, sab, but I don't forget his bitch fits because of it."
"oh, cmon, enya, don't you think you're being kinda harsh?" josh motions mindlessly with the hand that isn't propped behind his head. "you're just still pressed about him throwing out your booze stash."
"yeah, and you would be too if it was your pot."
"yeah, well at least I'm smart enough to not bring it around him when he's asked you not to," he takes a hit, his nonchalantness pissing her off. "plus, you're the one who put it in his room."
"suck me off," she grumbles, finally throwing herself into the cushions as if finally giving up. "he shouldn't be friends with alcoholics when he doesn't want to become one himself."
silence, but you still wonder;
"who's louis again?"

winter greetings and their departures.
wanderer x gn!reader, sweet & soft fluff, emotional angst, loss, memory loss.
warning! minor spoilers for wanderers backstory and major spoilers for 3.3 sumeru story quest. 4.3k words.
an: hi this is me b4 writing this and i feel like this is gonna ruin me.
edit: I'm ruined. I hate everything. part 2!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There was never much that Winter would bring to Snezhnaya, after all, it was always winter here. From the piping hot delicacies, the layers of clothing, the deep inches of snow. You practically didn't need to wait for Winter to come. However, what it does bring is gifts, and one day you received a puppet at your doorstep, unbeknownst to you that is.
Tumblr media
A couple of weeks ago you had found a boy slumped up against the wall of your house. Seeing this as you hummed to yourself planning to spend the day shopping, you obviously were surprised at the figure that donned a large hat and light clothing sat unconscious against the wall. At first you had assumed that maybe it was a drunk who didn't know better, however, after feeling his temperature, you decided to leave the pondering for later.
After a tough struggle of getting him into your home, you laid him on your couch, draping him in multiple blankets. Immediately after doing so you put a hand to feel for his pulse but nothing came through and panic surged through your body. You tried feeling for his heart but nothing beat underneath your palm and there was no sign of his chest ever having been raising up and down, even back when you found him outside. Had he died out in front of your house that long ago? You felt guilty for not being there soon enough but you were wondering just for how long had he been out there? Why did no one help?
You didn't exactly know what to do till you saw him open his eyes, sending your body stumbling backwards as you yelped form the horrifying sight. He's dead. He's meant to be dead. "Who the hell are you?" This doesn't happen to dead people does it? God, please, what possession occurred within your home? "You're alive?" You inched near him. "Of course I'm alive, have you ever seen a dead person before or should I show you one?" Despite his threats you were relieved to know he was well, "Oh my god, you're alive." You say as the weight leaves your shoulders. "I couldn't feel your heartbeat so I thought you had died by now." You don't notice the way his face scrunched at your words.
"Who are you?" You know, he was awfully direct for someone who was drunk prior. "I'm the person who had to drag you out of the freezing cold." You tell him your name as you expect a form of thanks or emotional gratitude but it never comes. "Do you want me to get on my knees and pledge loyalty to you?" Maybe you should've left him to die.
But you didn't, that's why you were here now, eating dinner together like you do every day.
You came to find that the young man, who's name you came to find out is Scaramouche, was not as bad as you thought he was despite his horrible personality. In fact, he was good company once you adapted to his way of speaking. He clearly isn't as direct about his emotions as you thought he was.
You would say you two had become good friends since the incident that occurred, although, he's never really told you how he ended up there. You always thought he was too embarrassed to admit what occurred, after all he has a lot of pride, but you've come to realise he doesn't enjoy alcohol, not unless he seems to be in a bad mood. You never wished to pry onto what happened for him to end up in such a state so you let it be.
"It tastes good right?" The question leaves your mouth excitedly as you expect to be praised. It had been the first time you were the one who made dinner because ever since the first time he met you he decided you were too careless and 'might try to poison him' if he lets you do the cooking. But, after some haggling, you managed to persuade him. Most likely because he seems to have grown a soft spot for you. "It's fine."
Your spoon hitting the bottom of the bowl. A silence overcame the room. The dish before you two was goulash, but not just any goulash, no, it was Your Special Goulash recipe. You had mastered this recipe to perfection, no, more than perfection, it is a goulash so good the Archons would be astounded. "Liar." You bitterly said. "What, you seek more praise?" He spoke, his voice was somewhat laced sweetly with honey as though to further taunt you. "Yes. Yes, I do. This is years of work, it is more than fine, it is magnificent!" You take strong pride in your skills when it comes to cooking and it won't be undermined. "I think it's pretty average." "Average?!" You repeated with astoundment.
One could say you were almost this close to jumping over the table at this blasphemy. He was clearly taking much amusement in your behaviour. "Yeah, I bet I could make a better gou-" His sentence is cut short by a spoon being forced into his mouth and he feels the warm liquid seep into his mouth, the seasonings it carries covering his tongue. His gaze stays stuck to your hands and his eyes are wide. You could easily tell he was astounded and you began to smile happily, but his shock didn't come from what you thought it did. He raised his sights onto you, and your stupid face.
Scaramouche felt his face grow warmer, and it wasn't frustration at your actions but something else. You take note of this and your eyes seem to glimmer, at this he pulls your hand away from him, thereby removing the spoon as he swallows. "So you do like it!" You're so dumb. Such an idiot you are. His hand is raised to his face as he mumbles something but you don't hear him, and you ask him to repeat it, repeat what you know will be the praise you deserve. "I said...It's too hot."
"...What." You stand still, disappointed once more. "It's goulash, it's meant to be hot!" And to your surprise, he mimics the same volume as you. "Well, it's too hot!" "You just don't know genius when you see it!" Taking a seat back down harshly. "Ha! I see it in the mirror every day." Crossing his arms as he bites his bottom lip, as though trying to keep his own resistance against something, making himself appear frustrated despite the colour of his ears. "You wish. Just eat up." You huff, biting your own food.
"Whatever." And he does the same as you, but with each bite he takes he stays more and more focused on what you did. You're so careless. Do you ever think prior to acting? He chuckles to himself, and you raise a brow but don't ask anything.
You both continue to eat peacefully.
Scaramouche had begun to act oddly. It's small things he does that have changed.
He used to cling onto you, he wouldn't directly ask for it but you'd give him it and he'd welcome it despite his complaints that you're too touchy, "You better not do this with anyone else." He'd say to you. And whenever you tried to leave his grip he'd pull you back in, asking you what you thought you were doing leaving him like that. He used to always keep you in his sights, he'd stay reading a book somewhere in the room just to make sure he can also keep an eye on you. But now, he seems too busy, too worried, with something, you aren't entirely sure what. You've asked him about his behaviour but he brushes it off, acting as though you're imagining things.
You question why he feels more distant nowadays, why even after having known each other for a long time now it feels like you're back to being strangers. Despite always being the more honest one out of the two you didn't want to admit to him that you missed having him there, with you. Yes, you two still lived together, but, although you don't want to admit it, you missed his touch.
It's an odd thing to say that you lost someone when they're always with you, it's kind of like having an anchor tied to you, yet the rope isn't tied around you, it is in you. You are one.
You wanted to figure out what's wrong, to sort things out. So you decided you'd try again, that you would do your best.
"Scara?" You called, peaking your head into his room. His answer was quick and to the point, not bothering to stare back at you. "What is it? I'm working on something." You pranched towards where he was sitting, attempting to peer over his shoulder, glimpsing at what he was working on before he abruptly hid it. You feel your brows furrow as you bite your tongue. Why was it that he suddenly began keeping things from you? You can recount exactly when it started. It wasn't like he shared everything with you, nor did you expect him to, but he didn't go out of his way like this.
You straightened your back. It was better to simply be straightforward with him. "What are you hiding?" Your voice was flat, there is no reason for there to be anything other than suspicion. "Nothing." Quick as always to cover up, but unlike other times he might have lied to you, this time his eyes didn't meet yours, they stayed focused on the ground.
You fisted your hands, annoyance surged through your body, but another part of you felt differently. You felt disappointed, not in him, but yourself. You somehow felt you had done something to cause this, to have him leave you behind. It felt slightly hollow. How can you blame him when you want to so badly just forgive him for whatever it is?
"Scara," You started, and the words threatened to never continue sounding out, to stay confined in your throat, suffocating you. But once he glanced up at you, anticipation in his orbs, you knew he was aware, aware that he had done something. If so, why hasn't he done anything regarding it? Regarding how he neglected you. You barely eat together anymore, he's too busy. "Please, just tell me, what's wrong?"
Truth is, he did wish to tell you, but then your idea of him would shatter. Everything you saw would fall apart. He can't have that, he doesn't want you to hate him, he can't take that. "Is it something I did?" No, no, no. God, no. He finds himself denying it repeatedly in his mind, the guilt seeping into his body, realising that you might have been blaming yourself the entire time. The last thing he'd want is for you to denounce yourself in his stead. He knows what he's doing. He knows what he has been doing to you and he knows it's cruel and awful, but he has to, he has to. He's done worse so why was this most bothersome for him?
"Did I ever say that?"
"No, you didn't. But, what else am I meant to think." You were the one who suffered the consequences of his actions. He expired a heavy breath, before admitting his thoughts, putting aside his usual act. "You're right. No, you didn't do anything. You never did. I'm simply caught up with some stuff."
"What stuff? You keep saying you're busy but you never tell me what. I'm… starting to get worried. I don't know what you're doing but if you have to go out of your way to hide it from me then it mustn't be good."
He didn't respond, only blankly blinking at you. It was hard to figure out what he was thinking till he stood up, his following words cut through not only the tension that had built up but you as well.
"I plan on leaving."
"What, where?! Why?!" You couldn't wrap your head around why he'd make such a plan, or why he would have to, nevertheless want to. "I have something I need to do. It's important to me." Important to him. Important to him? Why had he never mentioned it and why does he only bring it up now. He still continues to be discreet about his actions despite clueing you in with small tiny drops of information. But you didn't want the info, you wanted to know when it would end. "Then is it more important than you and I?"
It was as important on its own as he was. And since they were tied, if he were to say it is then he'd be saying he's worth more than you. He wouldn't want to put you down. No, you meant the world to him, you were so beautiful, you were wonderful and full of life but in a way he felt like he didn't deserve it, he didn't deserve this warmth, your warmth. You were the world but his vision was much bigger, he was a god, this is his birthright. If you'd listen to him, if you could understand, if you could trust him. Trust him blindly without a second thought. That's what he wishes to ask of you, he doesn't want to cause you any more pain but this is necessary for him to achieve. "Yes. It is."
He didn't need to hear your words to know how you felt, every part of your face said it. The misery, the burning, aching misery that swirled within those orbs of yours. How your body tensed, your jaw clenched tighter, and your brows raising higher in astonishment. A laugh leaves your throat, a scratchy bitter chuckle, and he hates it. "I see. Okay, I get it." It was clear he had already decided to dispose of you, that whatever this other thing was is more valuable, it matters most, not you. You feel as though you've been shot, the emptiness filled with disappointment and shame at him and yourself for ever thinking he'd have chosen you. You step away, and move towards the door. He says your name, it sounds almost pitiful, and you are hesitant to glimpse at him. You're weak, at this point what do you have to lose. You both know the end.
So you turn, you face him once more. Now you are the one to observe him, watch the way his face scrunches at your expression, how his fists are clenched. His mouth agape as no words leave his mouth yet you see it in his eyes, how he pleads you to stay, begs you to forgive him. You wish to think it isn't how he said it was. Scaramouche always had a tongue that defied his thoughts. But you wanted to hear him say it was you. It never came. No words came. Nothing but silent mouthing, as though he was whispering to you, knowing that if he spoke his voice would break. 'I love you.' And you see the way his shoulders drop, his orbs following the slightest of movements you make. You can't find it in yourself to say the words back. You only gaze at him as though he was the worst man you had known, and he might've been. To your disdain, you didn't hate him at that moment, you pitied him, and you hated yourself for feeling sympathy for that man.
You left without a word said, but you both knew each other well enough to know what you both were thinking.
After that, everything was quiet. There was no more tension. You didn't bother asking the Archons or a deity for help. What good would it be to ask a higher being for help, does that not only prove how dire your situation is, how pathetic it is? You didn't need the Archons, you will adapt as you always do.
One day, everything became all the more quiet. And you realised how much comfort you took in his company. You were truly alone now. It's just you.
You stare blankly at his door. You sit against it like you have done a thousand times, and you pretend he is just working again.
Not once did you enter his room. You didn't want to know what he took, because you feel its empty space in your chest, and you didn't care for what he left because you felt it in the silence as you monitored the items he touched for any traces of him like an owl, never blinking.
You were once again at his door, knocking thrice and awaiting any sound to erupt from the room but you only had the peace of no noise return. And yet you hated it, you felt frustrated. To you it was never placid because you could hear your thoughts echoing throughout the rooms, his name tormenting you, following you. How could one forget him, with a face like that, a personality so annoying like that? And yet you loved it; you loved him.
The day he left the snow had already erased all footprints he might've left behind, you would think that maybe that's why you feel his ghost here constantly. But it's likely your delusions.
Today, you'd enter. You wanted to feel him. To remember what it was like to have him. You didn't wish to forget him. The numbing coldness of the metal on your palm became evermore permanent as your hand seemed to refuse to budge. What had he done to have put me in such a state? You think it's funny.
You turn the knob, and push the door open.
White. So much white. The glacial weather was near enough to numb you, but that was not why you stood paralysed. You felt tears twinkle in your vision, before departing and travelling down your cheeks.
Snow. It's all snow.
He had left the window open. God, he probably never left out the door.
You stayed still as you processed this. Your mouth agape as your eyes stayed glued onto the sight before you.
It always snows in Snezhnaya, so why was this so much more painful?
It's torturous. It's horrible. It's pure torment. Yet it is such a beautiful sight to you, it is home to you and you hate it.
Your eyes wander around to where all the snow particles have fled to: The bed he slept on, the cabinets, his desk. The desk he worked at.
You walk closer, you feel your feet dip into the snow. You study his table, only a match, a bottle of ink, and a letter. He left a doll next to it.
You spent the entire day there, cleaning the snow out, and you left everything else untouched as you shut yourself in there just as he had, reading the letter where he had written it and then, you cried. You cried till your weeps went mute. Your attempts to stop your tears continuously failed. You hate him. Every aspect of him. And you hated how well you knew him.
'My dear,
I know it's shameful of me to say goodbye like this. I don't want to see what face you make.
I'm going to Sumeru, I'm going to fulfil what I was meant to be. Then, I'll come for you.
I'll be stronger then, I'll protect you from everyone, so this time let me save you instead. Wait for me, I won't take long.
I love you. Next time I see you I'll seriously say it. Thank you and I'm sorry, for all that I caused you. I'll make sure to repent with the rest of my life.
(I hope you like the puppet. It was made for you.)
Yours Truly,
Scara.'
It seemed that the weather only grew colder day by day in Snezhnaya. You had developed a pretty steady routine which was unusual for your normal self and today was your special day, today you got to spend a day treating yourself to all things nice. You've worked hard this week after all.
So, you walked out to the hallway dressed and ready to go, hurrying past the guest room and putting your shoes on, wrapping yourself with a scarf as your gloves turned the knob of your door. You leaped out of the house excitedly, only to catch yourself on your foot as you found someone standing at the right of your door.
A beautiful face was what you were met with, you felt the air knock out of you as you stumbled back. You didn't spot how the man smirked at the sight of this, nor would you know the relief it gave him to see you still the same. "Did I frighten you?" He wanted to test the waters, just out of curiosity, just so maybe, maybe it's fine, maybe you're an exception.
"No- I mean, yes? You did. I'm sorry, who are you?" For a second his face dropped into a sour expression, but he returned himself to his previous composer. "You ought to be ashamed. To think you'd forget me after I told you to wait for me." His words were a whisper but despite their gentle tone their weight laid heavy on him.
"Pardon? I couldn't hear you…"
He resented himself for what he was going to say and he was internally cringing and god he hates you for having him say something so dumb, but if this was a sick joke maybe he should appease you.
"I'm just a wanderer, that's all. Sorry, you wouldn't happen to know where I could find the best goulash?"
"The best goulash in Snezhnaya?! That's a hard thing to decide… Well, there's a diner down far by the town's heart. I'm heading there so you could join me if you'd like?"
Kind-hearted as always. An idiot to the core. But so was he for thinking that you'd offer him, a stranger, your secret recipe. Yeah, he should've cherished it when he had it. It was good, really good, and your face was pretty too, stupidly pretty.
He studied your outfit. Layered and thick as always, a contrast to his. You had yourself packed warm but that wasn't what he was focused on, you had a messenger bag strapped across your chest, and off it he saw the puppet he gave you. It was his.
"Where'd you get that?" He asked, pointing at it and ignoring your offer.
You found everything about this so-called wanderer odd. But when he asked about the puppet you had attached to your bag you couldn't quite recall when you got it. "I'm not sure… maybe it came with the bag? Sorry, is there anything else I can help you with?"
"No, nothing else. One thing though," You piped your head up, and he swallowed his pride. He didn't want to lie to you, even if you don't remember it now, he doesn't want to lie to you. But he never realised how much of a difficult thing to say it was, especially when you don't remember. Could he say he loves you, does he have the right anymore?
"Wanderer?"
"I… love you." He could feel that same heat that would always arise within him coming back once fourth. He tilted his ichimegasa down to hide his face, spitting out his next words quickly. "I'll be departing now!" This had been the first time that you knew that you saw him flustered, or that you've met him which made his words more absurd to you, but you felt almost flattered to be told that by someone so pretty. It was such a simplistic way of thinking. Then his words register once more, and you look at the chained puppet, unlocking it as you gaze at it. How alike they were.
How strange, how weird it was, the gaps in your memories, the guest room in your house, the puppet that looks like him, him acting so weird towards you, so casual.
You begin to wonder if this was really a mistake.
Despite the flustered emotions he first felt, he quickly let them pass, realising you'd simply think nothing more of him than him being some creep. Ha, to think he'd settle for such a thing so easily.
To think he'd settle for this so easily. What was he meant to do? What should he do? Tears welled within his eyes as he walked, and he hoped that even if the snow covers his trails it never erases what's already beneath.
He made a gigantic mistake. One he has to atone with the rest of his life. Unfortunately, it appears it isn't with you. He was ready to spend the next hundred years being pestered by you. But to be rid of that was an even worse punishment.
The wanderer won't tamper with your life. He wouldn't do such a thing to you. Despite his many wants to, his need to be with you, he won't. Because it is he himself who made himself land in such a position. Maybe rather than having shown up like that he should've recreated everything from the beginning, maybe then you would behave just as your stupid self normally would. Supplying him with warmth, dumb comments, annoyance, affection, care, humanity. Humanity. God, you had already made him a person long ago.
What should he do, what should a lost wanderer do when his home doesn't look at him the same. When those familiar eyes only return an unknowing look, a clueless, foreign stare?
How long does it take to rebuild a home, to rebuild the love you once carried for him?
The snow continues to seep into the room like sand filling up an hourglass. The doors knob has icicles on its insides and the inks long gone solid. All that remains is the opened envelope and the letter it contained, with stained tears. Another tightly sealed letter beside it.

A Cry For Help
Evan Buckley x Platonic! Fem! Reader
Request from @lillybearblog: “can i make a request for Buck from 911? Maybe you are bestfriends for awhile and he comes over and notices there is a small fire or something. You are passed out on the floor and wake to the smoke and Buck checking your pulse or something. He gets you out safely”
Summary: Buck is recently informed that his friend is going through a recent breakup, that has led her to begin drinking in a way Buck had never seen her drink before. When a fire starts at her house, Buck is determined to help his friend.
Warnings:  Angst, Alcohol, Mentions Of Infidelity, A Little Blood (But No Gore Or Anything), Language
A/N: I wrote 3/4ths of a story that I didn't know how to finish, and then this came to mind. As always, I'm sorry for the delay. I'm not very consistent, nor am I organized. But I am trying.
I hope this is good. I know that it's not exactly what you asked for, but I tried to at least keep the concept. As I said, I had to rewrite the story, and it was exactly as you explained, but the way I had written it felt like it was never-ending, and it was just taking too long.
Words: 2.3K Words
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was about 10 PM when Buck was finally off the clock. He was finally able to kick back and relax after facing a very grueling 24-hour shift.
The past day had consisted of Buck suffering through small house fires, drunk drivers, and even vengeful exes. Luckily for Buck, everyone came back alive, some with injuries, but surely all still alive. They delivered a man who suffered 4 stab wounds, from a woman everyone suspected to now be his ex, to the hospital. And the 118 quickly, yet safely made their way back to the firehouse.
As soon as the truck was placed in park, Buck was quick to release himself from the safety of his seatbelt and out of the vehicle. He began to make his way to the locker rooms after stretching his arms and neck a little. “Another one bites the dust,” Buck spoke to himself with a small, happy smile.
Eddie came up behind Buck, clapping his hand on his shoulder, as he joined Buck on his walk to the locker room. “Buck,” Eddie called out. Buck turned his head to face the Latino. His smile grew on his face. “What made you so happy? Aren’t you tired?” Eddie asked, also smiling but with a questioning look.
Buck answered, “I am. I’m just happy that our shift’s over. This shift made me happy to realize that I am no longer Buck 1.0. I’ve matured into a Buck that I never thought I could be.” Buck’s hands moved sporadically, through the air, as he spoke. His line of sight was lost in the distance.
Eddie congratulated the younger man as they entered the locker room. Their conversation shifted to a different topic while the two changed out of their work uniforms.
Their conversation came to a halt when Bobby frantically stormed into the locker rooms. “Have any of you heard from Y/N? I found out some bad news, just now, and she didn’t come in for work.”
The two stared at the older man in concern. “She didn’t call in?” Buck asked, confused. Bobby shook his head.
“No. No, we haven’t heard anything,” Eddie spoke up. Bobby nodded his head with a sad smile before he walked back out of the locker room.
Buck and Eddie looked at each other with a scared look. “I’ll- um- I’ll check up on her,” Buck told Eddie.
Eddie gave Buck a slight nod, to let him know that he understood. He grabbed his bag and started his way to the locker room doors. “Let me know what happens,” Eddie replies, then leaves.
Buck stayed behind. Something told him that something was wrong, and it all started when Bobby told him about Y/N not coming in. He grabbed his phone, unlocking it to see 10 unread texts from his friend, 5 missed calls, and 1 voicemail, all within the last hour.
Buck read through the texts. Most of the texts were about how much Y/N now hated her boyfriend after catching him cheating. Buck could tell his friend was drinking, because with every text, somehow, the words looked slurred.
Buck felt his jaw clench as he read the text. He couldn’t believe that someone like Will, Y/N’s now-ex-boyfriend, could treat a person who is so sweet and caring like that. He didn’t deserve Y/N. No one did, in Buck’s mind. She deserved more than what the world has given her, and it seemed unfair that right now Y/N’s chugging down a bottle of something she’ll regret drinking in the morning, and Will’s off with some chick that Will deemed better than Y/N.
He moved off of messages and clicked on the “phone” app. He opened Y/N’s recent voicemail and was instantly upset when he heard her start to speak. “Heeeyyy, Buck,” she slurred. Buck grimaced at how drunk she already was. “I don’t know if you got my messages, but I don’t know what to do. I know you’re probably at work because we were all scheduled together, but can you come over when you get this?” It hurt Buck to listen to this. He could hear her beginning to cry, and he wasn’t there to comfort her. “I thought he loved me. He even proposed a week ago. But it seems all that was fake. He’s been going out with that fucking whore, behind my back for months, Buck. MONTHS. I thought he loved me…” She paused, and Buck looked down at his phone, taken aback by the vulgar language that was spewing out of her mouth.
“…Fuck,” she cursed over the phone. “Shit… Fuck.” Buck didn’t know what was going on, but whatever was happening over the phone couldn’t have been good, based on her change in tone. Suddenly a loud thud was heard over the phone before the voicemail cut off. Buck looked through his phone to see if there was anything else, but the voicemail was the last thing he received from the girl.
Buck raced out of the locker room, in search of Bobby. But as soon as he got to the main floor, the bell had gone off, signaling an emergency in progress. Bobby rushed past Buck, but Buck was quick to grab his captain’s arm.
“Bobby, there’s something I have to tell you. It’s about Y/N,” Buck tried to speak but was cut off by Bobby.
“There’s an emergency at 128 West Lafayette St,” Bobby quickly said, hoping Buck would understand what he was saying. Luckily, he did. Buck’s eyes looked up at Booby in concern. “That’s Y/N’s address,” Buck said in dismay. Bobby only gave the younger man a nod as a reply.
“Can I go with you guys?” Buck asked.
“I don’t know. We already lost too much time here talking-”
“I’ll be quick,” Buck argued.
Bobby let out a small sigh. “Sure, but you have 5 minutes, and then we’re out,” Bobby agreed. And with that, Buck was off. He rushed back into the locker room and quickly applied his work uniform, and then back to the main floor where he and a few others threw on their fire protection gear before getting into the truck.

By the time the 118 made it to Y/N’s house, what dispatch described as a small fire, now covered half of Y/N’s small home. Buck watched as fire tried to escape the house through broken windows. It took almost everything in him not to jump out of the moving vehicle. He sat patiently, waiting for the driver to park the truck, so he could get out and save his friend.
The truck stopped, and Buck practically flew out of the vehicle, not waiting for anyone. “Okay,” Bobby said outside the truck, calling everyone in, around him. “The fire is quickly escalating, so we need to quickly evacuate the building and get that fire out. Johnson, you, and Wilks will be putting the fire out from the top. Gomez and I will be on the ground, working to put out the fire. Buck and Todd, I want you to make sure every room in that house is clear. Got it.”
“Got it!” Everyone replied.
Everyone went their separate ways. Buck and Randall Todd, a fellow 118 member, headed into Y/N’s home. Buck had no clue where he was going. He only knew that Y/N was drunk before the call went dead and that she was upset. “I’ll get upstairs,” Randall said, earning a thumbs up from Buck.
Buck searched the living room, bathroom, and dining room before his walkie went off. “Cap upstairs is clear,” Buck heard Randall say from his walkie. It went off again, but this time Bobby spoke, “What about downstairs?” Buck grabbed his walkie and spoke, “All is clear, except for the kitchen. Heading that way now.”
He made his way to the kitchen, and the sight before him made him stop in his tracks. Y/N lay on the ground, a little ways away from the stove. Her head lay in a small pool of blood, meaning she hit her head hard.
Buck rushed over to the girl, giving her a little shake. “Y/N, hey, are you conscious?” Buck asked, slightly tapping the girl’s face. The girl stirred slightly under Buck’s grip. “Buck?” she murmured.
Buck grabbed his walkie and spoke into it, “I found Y/N, cap. She’s barely conscious. She hit her head really hard.”
“Bring her out, Buck.”
“Copy that.”
Before picking the girl up, Buck observed the area around the girl. On the counter next to her was an empty bottle of Jack Daniels. Buck had never seen or heard of the girl ever drinking that. In fact, he remembered Y/N specifically telling him that she’d rather die than be caught drinking that. Buck scoffed at the memory.
He bent down to grab the girl. His large hands swept under the girl to pick her up, but they quickly retracted when he heard something crunch under his feet. Glass sat spread across the floor next to the girl, leaving Buck to believe that she was carrying a glass in her hand when she fell. And on the other side of the girl, Buck found Y/N’s phone completely cracked.
Buck tried picking the girl up once more, coming out successful. He lifted her up, holding her in a bridal-like fashion, with his arms supporting her back and legs. Buck made his way out of the house, where he was met by Bobby and two paramedics from the 118. He placed the girl on the open gurney.
Y/N stirred awake once more, this time longer than the last. The first thing she saw was Buck, which put a smile on her face. “Heeeyy, Buck,” She said. Buck frowned, remembering the voicemail that led him here. She shifted as her co-workers took note of her pulse and potential energies.
When she finally got comfortable, she noticed Buck’s frown. She looked away from Buck, copying the same sad look Buck had shown. Her eyes shifted over to Bobby, who carried a look of disappointment. It took a second to realize why he was looking at her like that. She had brought back something in him that Bobby hated reliving.
She looked between the two and softly said, “I’m sorry.” Y/N couldn’t bring herself to look at either of the men, but they surely had their eyes on her. Buck grabbed the girl’s hand, caressing it with his thumb. “You have no reason to be sorry,” Buck spoke.
Y/N shook her head “no” as she began to block out everything around her. The memories that led her to this moment in time all flashed through her eyes. She remembered everything. She remembered coming home from lunch with some friends to find Will lying in bed, her bed, sweaty, next to a girl Y/N did not know. She remembered throwing the engagement ring he had given her, just last week, in his face. She remembered kicking him out of the house, speeding to her closest liquor store and purchasing alcohol that she never thought she’d drink, and then going home and drinking until she couldn’t remember anymore.
“Y/N,” Buck called out, getting her attention. Y/N cried. She didn’t know what else to do. Everything hurt. Her body ached in pains she had never experienced before, and her heart was practically torn to shreds, so she just let it all out.
“Y/N, Bobby and I are going to meet you at the hospital when all of this is done,” Buck said. His heart broke to watch the girl break down like this. He wiped a tear from her face before Andy and Samara, the two paramedics on duty, began to get Y/N into the ambulance.
Bobby came up behind Buck and stared at the crying girl. “Go with her,” Bobby said. Buck spun around to face Bobby in shock. “What?” “You heard me,” Bobby argued.
Buck scoffed, “I have to help with the fire.”
Bobby’s head tilted at the man in front of him, giving Buck a knowing look. “You’re off the clock. I let you come to make sure Y/N was fine, and I want you to do the job you were assigned. Plus, Y/N needs someone by her side. I’ve been where she’s been, and I wish there was someone like you that was by my side when I needed it most,” Bobby said, giving the boy a soft smile.
Buck saw the pain in Bobby’s eyes as he attempted and failed to not look at the girl in the ambulance, struggling to cope with what had happened. Bobby looked at the girl as if she were his daughter. He saw a lot of himself in her, and it pained him to have to watch her suffer to the point where it got this bad. So, Buck discarded the part of his uniform that belonged to the firehouse and handed them to Bobby.
Bobby gave Buck an assuring look, putting a smile on Buck’s face. “Hey, wait up,” Buck called out to the paramedic that was trying to close the doors, so they could leave for the hospital. They opened the doors again, allowing Buck to jump in. Buck climbed in, sitting next to Y/N as she stared up at the ceiling of the truck with tears streaming down her face.
Buck’s hand met Y/N’s, and he squeezed it, letting her know that he was there for her. “It’s gonna be alright,” Buck whispered to the girl, but she didn’t respond. Her eyes stayed focused on the ceiling, not reacting to anything but her inner thoughts. But that didn’t stop Buck from comforting the girl. She’d been through a lot in 2 days, and Buck wasn’t going to add to that. Not that he wanted to either.
“You’ll be okay,” Buck said again, only louder. And he continued to remind her of that throughout her entire recovery, because it was a cry for help, and Buck wasn't going to ignore it.
