What r your thoughts on each Futuristic Four member 👀👀👀 (i am holding back a flood of excitement i like ur art btw)
WAHHH thank you I am also very excited. I have soo many thoughts. More under the cut
Violet
- I am totally unbiased abt her she totally isn’t my favourite incredibles character. I totally didn’t basically kin her when I was little
- also her speech about like “the government only gives rich people a slap on the wrist and lets them go” like girl the second supers get legalised you work for the government!! your mom works for a billionaire!! Do you know that?
- down to some headcanons. I think she’s very much the voice of reason in the four, between both of the boys being kinda impulsive and penny just eager to do things, someone has to make sure they don’t blow themselves up. She’s the only eldest child amongst the four and it heavily shows, half the time she looks like this:
Tumblr media
- that said she isn’t above the mischief they all get up to, she likes being able to relax and not think with reason for a wee bit as long as it doesn’t cause mass destruction. She’s the logical friend but she isn’t like the mom friend or anything like that.
- she’s also the tank which is funny considering she looks like a twig but those shields + two traumatic experiences sure do a lot in terms of fighting skills.
- I also think she involves her life the least in the sphere of the four. she has a decent social life at home and she almost sees the four as an extension of her hero life rather than her personal life, they don’t know anything about tony and have never interacted with dash and Jack jack, maybe one time one of them interacted with her parents but it wasn’t what she wanted. this might cause problems down the line.
- she’s a very musical girlie, I definitely stole this from someone else but her friends like dropping off vintage vinyl in their homes to her since she doesn’t like buying them herself and she’s very much a teenager with music blaring from her room but it’s like. The Beatles or something instead of my chemical romance. until it IS my chemical romance because penny drops off one of her old cd players and you know violet would THRIVE with early y2k pop rock and it only gets better when Wilbur donates his mom and dad’s old cd collections. this ends up with her having insane taste, half franny’s broadway tracks, electro swing and emo phase and half lewis’ lonely island and weezer tracks
- she also very much is an “acts of service” kinda affectionate for her friends. She’s the tallest so she grabs things from high shelves, opens jars, luges things around the lab for Hiro, organises Penny’s stuff for her sometimes, definitely helps organise Wilbur’s space cause it’s a mess etc.
- oh and. idk if you wanted lgbt headcanons but. bi violet. she learns what it from one of the others (probably Hiro considering his friends are a fruit salad) and is like “OHHHH that makes sense.”
Wilbur
- there’s something wrong with him. I fully believe that it is not the future that is Like That but in fact just the Robinsons that are Like That and that becomes more believable when you realise most of the weirder robinsons’ family members were kids, teens and young adults right between y2k and now. They are pretty much eccentric rich people, but like morally good.
- he’s not much of an engineer or inventor like his dad but is actually way more artsy like his mom, but instead of music he likes model making and Lego like stuff. he’s thinking of studying architecture when he’s older though he’s pretty unsure of his path forward in life in general. He’s only a kid.
- in general actually he’s pretty unsure of himself, often dotting back from interest to interest, whim to whim until it doesn’t interest him. 99% sure he has adhd tbh but surprisingly he doesn’t struggle with things like school, but more with his sense of identity, he cannot define himself properly quite often and is constantly driven to find a purpose in life, since both of his parents knew who they were rather early in life and as he gets older this is just a more stressful prospect to him. He is very loud and boisterous to make up for this
- so as can be expected, the adventure that landed him to meet the others was just a whim that stuck. And maybe he feels guilty for that but he’s happy it happened.
- he’s very much the kinda teenager boy who sees himself as invulnerable and he often is the one who creates humiliatingly dangerous scenarios the other three have to save him from. Sadly, none of these saves have halted his own belief in his invulnerability, but instead made him wanna reach greater heights of almost dying. at least he’s pushing his friends’ limits, both power wise and nerve wise.
- I headcanon he didn’t really do school, more like a private tutor, as the youngest in his entire family and only child he very much is the kinda kid who’s best friend is one of his uncles or his cousins. No, he doesn’t let any of the others come around to his, his parents would kill him, does he steal the Time Machine to visit at least one of them at least ONCE a day, of COURSE what ELSE will he do all day??
- to no ones surprise, he’s very much the distraction of the group, a master of distracting people as much as himself so Hiro and violet can GET em. It’s how he makes up for being the one who starts most of the fights.
- definitely organises group dnd sessions that he dms and when he gets bored he sculpts their characters for funsies. he has 10k+ word docs worth of lore.
- speaking of which, loves giving gifts, usually little models and projects he makes.
Hiro
- he is the most social member of the group but it was not his decision, he inherited his brother’s friend group of full grown adults and I’m not entirely sure if he would be socially conscious enough to keep up with the four if not for everyone wanting him to finally have friends his own age. It’s not that he doesn’t like any of his friends, in fact he loves a lot of people pretty easily, it’s just that he gets dragged down in his personal projects so much that he maybe struggles to put in effort a wee bit sometimes.
- he is also the main host for hangouts, in his workshop or the cafe because the other four can poke around too much in his bedroom and he doesn’t really like anyone going near tadashi’s part of the room or messing around with his “order” of things, aka the mess he understands.
- it was priority one after they all become besties that he design supersuits for them, he especially liked the challenge of actually working and amplifying violet’s power while creating abilities for penny and wilbur. for penny he of course included bolt as well, copying a lot of the tech shown in the movie to make them a tag team duo with matching coloured armour while wilbur he just gave green lantern construct thingies. He gave them these as a gift and sadly none of them get a lot of use out of them but they appreciate it none the less and he enjoyed the project A LOT.
- he is also very much a gift giver, he’s not good with words so effort is the best he can show.
- he’s a little bit hypocritical in that if he gets hurt he’s very stubborn with baymax’s attempts to heal him but if ANY of his friends get even a scratch on them he’s pushing Baymax on them like “no no, get that cleaned up. get a bandaid. come on. Don’t fight him about it.” With his arms crossed
- he felt so awkward when he introduced the six to the four. they got along great, besides some lingering awkwardness and Fred’s joking attempt at a rivalry but he couldn’t help but feel like SOMETHING was gonna go wrong at every turn. He was surprised in fact to see them get along so well.
- Hiro often acts as the secondary fighter for them all, most of the time when he’s with them he doesn’t have access to Baymax so he just tries his best with armour and it’s small amount of gear.
- he’s the one who gets talked into doing dumb things for the sake of doing them. He doesn’t have the teenage boy invulnerability of Wilbur, more like the scientific mind that wants to do the most dangerous version of every test on mythbusters. He always has Baymax on stand by, his fatal flaw is just thinking that will always be enough.
- oh and just as a wee add on, I like to imagine him as autistic and aroace. And maybe trans, mostly because the idea of Baymax doing t-shots is fun to me.
Penny
- probably my biggest character change, cause penny is a wee bit nothing in the original movie. Not her choice really but there are things to expand on which I do. I know one of the more common things to do is make penny an actual secret agent like she in her show but I think it’s funnier for her to just be like. a retired child actor who hangs out with a bunch of superheroes and geniuses by accident. She is just a guy.
- But she is a very traumatised guy, between the fire incident and just y’know- being a child star for a semi Disney coded network, she’s got some stuff going on. Mainly breathing problems and some panic attacks. Thankfully, Bolt is a very job-oriented dog so with acting out of the picture, they had him trained up as a therapy animal which of course he does amazingly and diligently. Her mom moving them onto a farm was also very much a part of this, the clean air and work she thought would be good for her.
- She’s just now adjusting to being a more regular child, having acted for a long time, and is on the path back into integrating into school but she has yet to make any friends, especially not her own age. She’s often stuck at home so she’s very welcoming to her friends’ visits to her as it eats up her time.
- Penny’s place is the most common hangout spot for all of them as it’s just her, her mom and the animals and a lot of room to do whatever they want. Penny is always find with them being around and actively makes attempts to keep em around as long as possible so she doesn’t go stir crazy, week long sleepovers in summer and stuff like that.
- She also likes how if she travels to any of their own time period, she doesn’t have to deal with the fear of paparazzi and gossip tabloids and that’s probably why she’d rather travel to San Fransokyo for anything like buying a toothbrush or a snack rather than drive down the road.
- Treats Baymax like a pet quite often, petting him and calling him a good boy just out of habit, the others find it funny but she always gets embarrassed.
- she’s the healer of the group, when Baymax isn’t around, and Bolt acts as an attack dog part time. she gets panicked a lot by seeing her friends hurt so running in with a medkit to clean them up is always her top priority. She hides it well but it stresses her out when hiro and violet aren’t around cause she’s worried they’ll get grievously injured in battle.
- she’s also big on words of affirmation, team hypeman to the extreme. She cares about her friends a whole lot and she will tell them exactly why with no excuse or insecurity allowed. This doesn’t go over well most of the time considering violet and hiro can’t handle compliments and wilbur will soak it in with way too wide a grin.

do you have some favorite things from the y2k era?I've been watching a lot of vhs recordings of tv from around that time so it reminded me of your cmy2k stuff
EXCELLENT QUESTION i'm so crazy about the tech just in general like VHS i have a huge nostalgia bias in favor of but the Y2K era was a huge time of like tech experimentation and VHS was already starting to die out by the year 2000 in favor of DVDs so this is around when you get like, combination VCR/DVD players that have slots for both and it's my favorite shit ever it is so cool to me that instead of just wholesale abandoning the by-then-outdated analog technology the instant something better came along to replace it they were joining analog together with digital it's SO COOL!!!! i just miss analog technology in general especially with how tactile so much of it is, like even a modern TV remote the buttons don't have a satisfying click when you press down on them there's almost no tactile feedback it sucks
but Y2K era tech experimentation in general is so much my favorite shit cuz the latter half of the 90s decade is when home computing got exponentially more accessible to the general public and because of this people start getting computers in their homes AND cell phones are becoming a thing for Everybody not just businessmen who would also have pagers anyway, like this specific period of time (especially due in part to the fact THE NEW MILLENNIUM just sounds futuristic) everyone was generally like "yoooo this is the FUTURE we're going into the FUTURE!!!!!!!!" so you get the Y2K futurism boom everyone making and taking advantage of all this new technology and Especially trying to make the new tech look and feel as futuristic as possible that's why the imac G3 was like that cuz in 1998 blobjects and translucent plastic = The Future
and that goes hand in hand with just blobjects being FUCKING EVERYWHERE i fucking LOOOOVE blobitecture and blobject furniture it's so goddamn cool and weird. like inflatable translucent chairs were a huuuuge thing around this time i remember when i was super little like around 2002-2004 approximately we Had an inflatable chair until we got a cat with claws who popped it. but that was just a normal cool piece of furniture for someone to have!!!! same for like the resurgence of lava lamps. and for that matter the resurgence of a shitton of other 60s/70s design trends cuz it's a similar principle with people thinking This Is Now The Future (back then with the space race and moon landing and civil rights and all) + 30-40 year nostalgia cycles just naturally bringing that shit back into trending but in the 90s it's got a modern cyber spin on it that i'm so crazy about. like 70s supergraphic ultramodern is still so goddamn stylish to me and elements of it are i think present in the majority of any kind of design that involves blobjects, but then you look at something like the corporate gen X cyber style especially examples of interior design or architecture:
Tumblr media
and the shapes are 100% influenced by organic blobby shapes of 60s/70s design but Y2K futurism is so goddamn big on cold kinda liminal feeling futurism as opposed to the bright colorful hippie futurism of 60s/70s, and i think the kinda intentionally-bleak feeling i get looking at a lot of Y2K futurist interior design HAS to be somehow inspired by the wild west that the internet was back then right?? like the Future = Cyberspace that was the whole thing with Y2K futurism, but the internet of the late 90s was still a pretty desolate wasteland that if you don't know how to navigate you'd just get totally lost. and they look at this and go "hell yeah sign me up that's the future i'm lookin forward to" and make all their office buildings and fuckin shoe stores feel cold and alien like that and it's SO FUCKING COOL!!!!!!!! ipod minamalist futurism and the stark white of an apple store have NOTHING on the inherent style of an office waiting room that feels cold just looking at photos of it
also the ambitious shit people tried to do with limited computer graphics especially early 3D video games is so goddamn charming and now that we're caught in a "how many pores can we render on this man's face" feedback loop i don't think is ever gonna be captured again except by people Intentionally trying to evoke nostalgia for the graphics of that period. also early amateur web design ALSO EARLY PROFESSIONAL WEB DESIGN like nowadays every goddamn website looks the exact same but having an intro screen or an enter button or just like a themed UI frame that the whole site fits into AND flash AND early javascript everything was so goddamn experimental and new!!!!
sorry for rambling so much about just general Y2K futurism and experimentation shit i'm also crazy about late 90s synth sounds and midi sequencers. like not cheap fucked up bad midi like everyone makes fun of but GOOD midi like you hear in those playstation D&B jungle mixes there's something that feels so nice and mystical about that era of synth pads ough i need it so bad. don't even get me started on rave flyer influenced graphic design because it's still my favorite shit on earth and i need it soooo bad especially the shit where it's like. intentionally distressed and they tried on purpose to make it look like the printer ink fucked up but it's INTENTIONAL it's everything to me
in conclusion this thing is a soap dish

La Squadra and Fashion Aesthetics
i originally wanted to do eras of fashion but i think a post like this works a bit better. i know so little about fashion but it was fun thinking about this lmao (also i’ve made little mood boards of what i think but some of the outfits may be on the more feminine side bc it’s hard to find more masculine things on pinterest sometimes </3 but it’s more for just the whole general idea of what i mean). i might regret making this post and it’s a little chaotic but anyway ✨ (edit: i regret it but i put too much effort into it oops) edit again: here’s the link to some more characters!
୨ ╭ ୨୧ ✦ ︶꒷꒦・⎯⎯・⎯⎯・₊ˎ✧๑
Risotto:
he’s probably one of the easier ones to think of so i’ll start with him
goth/emo vibes for sure. it’s so obvious but i had to say it
lots of chains and harnesses
lots of necklaces and random accessories too
high platform shoes and boots
layers, layers, layers
and maybe a little bit of punk but definitely more leaning on the goth side than anything
i was going to say e-girl but maybe more for the accessories than clothes lmao (i can totally imagine him feeling embarrassed googling ‘e-girl accessories’ just so he can find a nice choker or chain or something)
here’s a little moodboard! it’s not exactly what i was thinking but i’ll roll with it
Tumblr media
Formaggio:
i wanted to say more streetwear kind of clothes for him at first but i get a bit of a punk vibe from him
spikes and chains
heavily patterned trousers
the little thing under his shirt in his design already gave me fishnet vibes so a lot of fishnet
maybe chokers too? he’d look cute in one of those
or maybe like old school avril lavigne kind of fashion
skater punk kind of fashion? i think he could skateboard lmao
another moodboard! i’ll do his moodboard kind of half and half for both kinds of fashion because i can’t decide
Tumblr media
Ghiaccio:
like cybercore/futuristic y2k fashion?
lots of silver, white, and blue colours
also lots of iridescent clothes and clear clothes
platform shoes? (i think he’d look good with some platform trainers or something)
i think the colour palette of this aesthetic was what reminded me of him more than anything else lmao
sporty vibes which i think works for him
also a bit of a space vibe but let’s not talk about that lmao
again here’s a little moodboard. i tried to find some that actually reminded me of what he already wears
Tumblr media
Melone:
i don’t know what to call this but i’m gonna say colourful y2k
lots of that colourful, plastic jewellery (like those resin rings and stuff)
bright colours and bold patterns!
like, way too much colour
way too many accessories too
lots of hair accessories like colourful butterflies clips and hairbands etc!
i could also totally see him wearing like a bright pink juicy couture track suit omg
i’m not entirely sure this moodboard captures what i mean but i tried </3
Tumblr media
Prosciutto:
this man was so difficult omg anyway i think he would wear like dark academia style fashion
loose fitting shirts and sweater vests (i can’t 100% see him wearing sweater vests i’m not gonna lie)
blazers and suit jackets all the way
not necessarily a whole coordinated suit thing all the time i don’t think. as long as the clothes go in some sort of way i don’t think he would mind
also wears stuff like this to ANY occasion no matter how casual or fancy the situation is lmao
moodboard time! honestly this is probably the most accurate one in my opinion lmao
Tumblr media
Pesci:
maybe like a 90s grunge fashion sort of thing
plaid shirts and baggy t-shirts
ripped jeans and clothes that look like they’re past the point of being wearable tbh
converse and vans? but they also look past the point of being wearable
i don’t have much else to say so moodboard time again (yeah most of these pictures are of nirvana i’m so sorry but it’s the only way to get across what i mean lmao)
Tumblr media
Illuso:
i was so stuck for this guy and i wanted to say 90s grunge kind of fashion for him instead (i still think he’d look good in that but this isn’t about my illuso fantasies rn lmao) but his ugly ass duvet looking shirt reminded me of a puffer jacket so i’m going with more streetwear fashion for him
generally just loose fitting, baggy clothes
kind of looks like he didn’t make an effort even though he definitely did
comfort is the key! very comfy clothes
here’s the moodboard! i don’t even know what i’m doing at this point
Tumblr media
୨ ╭ ୨୧ ✦ ︶꒷꒦・⎯⎯・⎯⎯・₊ˎ✧๑
i ended up hating this post after i finished it but i spent way too much time on it not to post omg at least i tried lmao. also i know i didn’t include sorbet and gelato in this post but their clothes reminded me of cargo pants and stuff so i think they’d probably wear streetwear kind of fashion too! i realised when i made this post that i literally dress like all of these 😭

On The Vibe Shift And Architecture
I’ll attempt to keep this from turning into a multi-part essay on the concept of Form and Art and Public Works under modernity, and while I’m at it I should clarify that I’m less rooted in architectural theory as I am in greater literary and structural (small S) cultural philosophies. Most of this is observation on larger cultural trends. Feel free to contradict this with YOUR cool architecture studies stuff but do know that if you do it in a condescending manner I will drop an anvil on your head.
The past 20 or so years have really been the years of referential style. After 9/11 America as a country looked to the past for structure and familiarity. Just as the 30s had Europe clawing at symbols of Rome for specific reasons we will not mention here, there was a need for strength. For symbols of it. For callbacks to when things were “Ok” that also blended with the eternal nostalgia train of new generations making enough money to buy reproductions of their youth. The late 90s and early 2000s already had y2k fears, 9/11 just made things that much more drastic.
Maybe it’s just me, but the past two decades have been a nonstop nostalgia fest. A whole 20 years of being born in the wrong generation. First the yearning for the white picket 60s in the wake of the war on terror before shifting in a hard pivot to the stongman antics of the 80s as a country in the midst of post-9/11 Obama-failure culture warring longs for a Ronald Reagan to sort things out (This includes the left, they just wanted their iron-fisted iconoclast in the form of Bernie or Hillary). We did get a hollywood republican president but he obviously wasn’t what they wanted. Too volatile.
Now we’re in many ways clear of that, at least for now. The world order is set to rights for the moment, with the international community firmly united against Russia and whatnot. A boring man sits in the white house. They’re making the Ford Bronco again (a last gasp for retro?). It’s feeling very post-watergate in a way.
Partly thanks to @kontextmaschine I’ve been thinking more and more about the Vibe Shift, and a return to permissiveness as the punk thing to do definitely looks to be in the cards. Social Justice is important as ever, but the 2017 pink hat crowd gets irrelevant, they’re uncool. It’s no longer punk rock to be uptight about things. I think part of the vibe shift might be a culture tired of looking backwards in a 20-year retrospective on the last century. A generation that doesn’t remember the 90s now reaches adulthood and is ready to make new things and look at the future with a fresh light. Sure, y2k is back, but with it things ironically feel like we’re ready to look forward again. It feels like normal nostalgia.
My predictions on what 2020s will bring architecturally aren’t really that groundbreaking. “The cutting edge of technology will no doubt influence design” is not a controversial statement, after all. What I will say is that a melding of the natural form and recent AI-driven understandings of structural design will most likely be seen. 3D printing and VR Imaging are all the rage, and a lot of prefab will be undoubtedly influenced by this. I think the 70s-into-y2k ultramodern style nostalgia will meld splendidly with this. LED Lighting allows for crazy light fixtures too. We’re over the grit and realism, and I think some fanciful design is on the horizon for sure.
I foresee advances in futurist sustainability, not only with callbacks to Carter era solar-panels-and-Syd-Mead Design (look at Genesis/Kia/Hyundai’s EV design!) but with a mature look at mitigating carbon output and the environmental impact buildings exact on the environments they’re constructed on, both as singular units and as a whole.
For as much as I loathe them, I think the unattractiveness of suburban culture/commutes paired with the inaccessibility of single family housing (partly due to the whole Airbnb scourge) will drive the design trend toward apartment blocks and more 5-over-1 housing, hopefully with innovations intended to make them less exactingly ugly and shoddy. [Dear reader, do know that they will not stop being ugly and shoddy] This is America-specific, I know, but
Energy-wise i feel that Nuclear power is one crusading republican away from finally being brought back properly, and if the bleeding hearts on both sides can rub the idpol out of their eyes they’d see that the energy-to-pollution-ratio makes nuclear--a technology that’s only gotten cleaner, safer, and more efficient--the greenest energy we’ve had in a long time. Expect massive twitter fights about this. In any case, I hope to see cooling towers once again dot the skyline.
I’m interested in how the cottagecore trend towards more agrarian aesthetics will interact with the steel-siding industrial future look that a lot of the 2010s held, and how the split (at least in America) between the Urban young professional and the settled-down homeowner will marry the two aesthetics. The vibe shift gets a little fuzzy here, or at least is made so in my mind by the commodification of aesthetic as identity rather than as consumption.
I’m not architecturally educated enough to do anything more than basic predictions on “I see trends, socially.” [Dear reader, I am talking out of my butt] I’ll try not to add unprompted additional thoughts to this if I can help it. No promises.

The return and evolution of Y2K
Y2K—two letters and a number entirely summarises the incoming vibes and fashion trends of the year ahead are feeling more so 2002—from crochet tops, platform shoes, kitchy jewelry, asymmetric wear, bold and rich textures, floppy bucket hats to boot.
The original Y2K aesthetic emerged around the same time as the Gen Z-ers currently driving its resurgence—it spanned the very end of the 1990s through the beginning of the 2000’s, Y2K as it is generally understood by both fashion historians and TikTokers alike, to include everything from shiny, Matrix-inspired fabrics to the high-cropped designs Tina Knowles whipped up for Destiny's Child. If there was one through thread of the era, it was excess.
Tumblr media
The original Y2K, much like its resurgent counterpart, emerged as a bit of a pendulum swing. Similar to the way the 2008 recession led to minimalism in the 2010s—and, in counter-response, 2020s burgeoning maximalism—a recession in the early 1990s was all about simplicity. Then why is Y2K making such a golden return?
In actual fact the trend is evolving into a cultural style for many in this day and age with a more futuristic focus inspired by fashion icons like TLC and brands like Baby Phat. As predictions of what fashion theorist call the 20 year rule, with a merge of the trends of the era to match the energy of the evolutions trail and error. We are here for it!
Tumblr media
Some trends to look out for !!!
Arm warmers, leg warmers, detached sleeves—whatever you wanna call them—these babies are back with a vengeance. Slip them on with any fit to give early-aughts energy.
We're not new to the bucket hat. They’re coming through bigger than ever—literally, tho. Oversized, floppy fur bucket hats are about to be the hottest accessory in the game.
Pelvic cut-outs, cleavage cut-outs, ovary cut-out—ya, 2022 is the year of the random splash of skin. The more unexpected the keyhole, the better.
Don't panic—high-rise jeans aren't going anywhere however, the hip-hugging styles are coming back with the rest of the early-2000s revivals.

The biggest cultural Influence for fashion in the y2k era and the 1920’s was futuristic , and what they thought the future would look and be like.
It’s crazy to see how different they both saw it, especially the aspirations that they did have in common. I mean yeah ofc 1920’s and y2k era vision of the future were wildly different because they’d imagine what they could with what the already had/ were told are possible.

Initial Logo Design Trends: A Look Ahead to 2023:
Initial Logo Design
Tumblr media
Not everything about life after the epidemic has gone as planned. Climate change, conflicts, and economic difficulties have left many of us feeling disillusioned. As a result, some of us are turning to individualism, anti-establishment politics, and spirituality in search of meaning and purpose. Despite this unpredictability, though, the creative sector is offering welcome relief. In the world of design, we're seeing trends for an Initial Logo Design that transports us to other worlds, both past and future. From sci-fi references to retro throwbacks, these designs capture our yearning for a better tomorrow. Designers are using their past experiences to inspire new and innovative creations, and the future looks bright as a result.
Old-School Flowing Mercury Fonts:
The liquid mercury typography trend in design has become popular recently and resembles a font style from the turn of the century. Mercury was commonly used in thermometers and other products, and at room temperature, it's a slow-moving liquid that tends to ooze rather than flow. The unevenly distributed weight, rounded corners, and general sense of organic oozing into letter shapes give the font a contemporary feel. It lacks symmetry and feels funky and metallic, almost otherworldly.  As a throwback font, it's nostalgic, but the play on depth, texture, and letter formation provides it with fresh energy with an Initial Logo Design. Overall, the melting mercury logo trend feels lively, exciting, and free. If you're familiar with the Y2K style, you'll recognize this font immediately, but it still feels relevant and modern.
Playfully Drawn Doodles:
Tumblr media
Escapism comes in different forms and doesn't always require a futuristic approach. In the current climate of the world, designers are finding ways to create positivity through playful line drawings and casual humor in their work. This trend is all about finding joy in simplicity, and the style feels like the playful doodles we used to draw in our science books as kids, adding a sense of mischief and innocence. As the world faces a variety of crises, designers are turning to nostalgia to fuel their creativity, bringing back a sense of comfort and familiarity. This trend highlights the importance of finding joy in everyday life and looking for the positives in our environment, even during difficult times. It's a reminder to take a step back, embrace simplicity, and find happiness in the little things to create an Initial Logo Design.
The Joyful Energy of Red in 2023 Logo Designs:
As we move into 2023, monochrome logo designs will feature the color red more frequently than black, particularly when the Initial Logo Design incorporates a character or mascot. The color red is known for its ability to grab attention and convey strong emotions, as well as being a symbol of luck. By utilizing red in their designs, designers can bring out the personality of the brand they're creating for. These logo designs draw inspiration from comic strips, evident in their 2D line drawings, Real Estate Logo Maker exaggerated expressions, line grids, and speech bubbles. In a world full of tension and negativity, designers are finding positivity by referencing the childhood memories associated with these styles of illustrations. The color red plays a key role in cartoon-style characters by adding an energetic and charismatic vibe that the audience can't help but absorb. This trend is all about infusing joy and lightheartedness into the designs and reminding us to embrace the lighter side of life.
Blending Tradition and Innovation in Logo Design for 2023:
As we head into 2023, design is reflecting the need to cope with the reality of our ever-changing world. Adapting to the "new normal" of 2022 has required innovation and fresh perspectives, and one-way designers are achieving this is by incorporating traditional cultural imagery into contemporary Initial Logo Design. This trend involves blending old-school aesthetics with modern color palettes, abstract patterns, and minimalist design elements. By simplifying ornate details into line drawings or transforming traditional logo shapes into vector art, designers are creating unique and striking visual identities that bridge the gap between past and present. The result is a refreshing take on traditional cultural imagery that feels both timeless and current.
Conclusion:
Tumblr media
The world of logo design is constantly evolving and adapting to the changing times. As we move into 2023, we see a continuation of some of the trends from 2022, as well as new ideas emerging. From playful line doodles to throwback liquid mercury fonts and the use of red in monochrome designs, designers are finding inspiration in nostalgia, humor, and cultural imagery.  The key is to stay flexible and open-minded, to innovate on what we know and what we've experienced in the past. As with any creative field, Initial Logo Design is about finding the balance between tradition and innovation, between the familiar and the unexpected. And ultimately, it's about creating designs that speak to the personality and values of the brands they represent, designs that leave a lasting impression on their audiences.

We are Cebu Institute of Technology Bachelor of Multimedia Arts students. We provide information about fashion, style, and outfits, as well as demonstrate various types of fashion and our personal fashion style and taste.
This account is basically anything fashion related, from its history to its latest trends. This account also gives tips and tricks on how to enhance your style and help you find your ideal look. In here are different types of fashion each with a brief summary.
What is Fashion?
Fashion is a form of self-expression and autonomy expressed through clothing, footwear, lifestyle, accessories, makeup, hairstyle, and body posture at a specific time, place, and context. The term refers to a fashionable look as defined by the fashion industry.
What year did Fashion started?
Fashion began when humans began to wear clothes. These garments were typically made of plants, animal skins, and bone. Before the mid-nineteenth century, there was no clear distinction between haute couture and ready-to-wear fashion.
Where was the word "Fashion" originated and what place did it start?
The history of fashion design can be traced back to 1826. From 1826 to 1895, Charles Frederick Worth is regarded as the world's first fashion designer charles, a former draper, opened a fashion house in Paris He established the tradition of fashion houses and advising customers on what type of clothing would suit them.
But how Fashion changed over the years?
The new gradually replaces the old Athletes, musicians, movie stars, social media, and royalty are all influenced by popular culture They are also interested in what people wear in popular films, television shows, online videos, books, and music. We are also influenced by advertising in the fashion industry Stars in popular culture do not stay stars by doing the same things over and over. Instead, they are constantly looking for new ways to maintain their popularity. These new perspectives are frequently expressed through new clothing or hairstyles.
Why Fashion keeps us very interested?
Every person on the planet perceives fashion differently, but we can all agree that it represents the way someone dresses and expresses their style. Fashion, it is safe to say, is universal and can include a variety of cultural and spiritual connections.
Examples of different various of new fashion wears/trends:
Streetwear- a casual fashion trend that emerged in the 1990s It includes clothing that is both comfortable and fashionable, such as graphic tees, hoodies, sweatpants, and sneakers. Hip-hop culture and skater style inspire streetwear brands.
Tech Wear- is a formed from technical and clothing. It is a new futuristic and mysterious trend that believes in the function more than the aesthetics of clothing. Professionals call this movement a visionary art in the fashion world.
Y2K wear- is an aesthetic is radically different and was inspired by the mid-'90s and early 2000s dotcom boom, when the internet became more popular. Shiny materials, chunky sneakers, pleated skirts, baguette bags, and colorful sunglasses are typical of this style, which is futuristic with a slightly retro edge with the massive peak in technological advancement, viewers were both optimistic and skeptical about the future and how it could transform our lives.
Casual Wear fashion- is basically a non-dress code meaning you can literally wear anything. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t look stylish, the code that is casual, infrequent, spontaneous, and appropriate for everyday use. Following the counterculture, casual wear became popular in the Western world.
Thrift Fashion- Thrift Fashion or upcycling fashion is a practice in which people buy secondhand clothes from thrift stores and tailor them into new and unique pieces that more authentically showcase their personality and style.

Markus Klinko Reflects on 20 Years of 'Dangerously In Love' This June will mark twenty years since the start of Beyoncé’s solo superstardom with the release of her first studio album, Dangerously in Love. Featuring collaborations with Missy Elliott, Sean Paul, Big Boi, Sleepy Brown, Luther Vandross and a hit lead single with Jay-Z, it’s safe to say that the album flourished, foreshadowing the star’s future success. The flashy cover of Renaissance, which features metallic disco horse “Reneigh,” isn’t Beyoncé’s first time donning a bedazzling outfit for her album’s artwork. In the infamous cover art for Dangerously in Love, the 21-year-old’s striking pose, combined with the diamond-covered garment, was inspired by a web-like portrait of French model Laetitia Casta. And the brilliant mind behind both of these photos is photographer Markus Klinko, who had previously met Beyoncé on the set of a photoshoot. For Vibe Magazine’s October 1999 issue, Klinko captured the essence of popular R&B girl groups Destiny’s Child and 702; he recalls meeting Miss Tina, Beyoncé’s mother, and immediately knowing that this was only the beginning of Queen Bey’s stardom.“And I remember shooting them, and her mom was standing next to me,” he tells PAPER. “And I was turning around her and said that one in the middle there — that one is going to be very famous. She has huge potential. She's very charismatic, and to be honest, her mom just kind of looked at me and said, ‘Yeah, we know.’”Fortunately, the two kept in touch, and Beyoncé requested Klinko’s skill for Dangerously in Love. She ended up receiving more than just photos from him. According to Klinko, the star’s first choice of outfits included a “red carpet-like, long skirt,” but he suggested a denim bottom to complement the shimmering diamonds. So, as anyone would do for Beyoncé, he improvised and offered his pair of jeans, which completed the look. You can tell Klinko never tires of telling this story and others about his well-deserved accomplishments. With an endless celebrity portfolio of stars like Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, Lil’ Kim, Britney Spears, Naomi Campbell, Christina Aguilera and Anne Hathaway, it’s not surprising that his work has resulted in some of pop culture’s most recognizable portraits. Aside from setting the standard for celebrity images in the 2000s, Klinko has been recognized for shooting other exceptional album covers like David Bowie’s Heathen, Mariah Carey’s The Emancipation of Mimi and Kelis’ Tasty. On February 4, his solo exhibition “ICONS KLINKO” opened for viewing at the Nicole Longnecker Gallery in Houston, Texas. After leaving Texas on March 25, the exhibit will be making its way to Paris and New York later this year. Throughout the hallways of the traveling gallery, visitors can find portraits of Bowie, Gaga, Mary J. Blige, Iman and Spears alongside Klinko’s latest collection, The Angel Factory. Inspired by his role model Andy Warhol, the digital collection is a commentary on pop culture and cosmetic surgery.“It’s a collaboration between various companies in the medical beauty and wellness industry, so these medical companies are supplying me with these ultra-high-tech lasers,” he says. “I'm shooting these models, and it's almost creating a futuristic clinic environment, as if they were halfway robots. When you look at celebrities and how they are so into keeping themselves perfect with plastic surgery and fitness, it is a very big deal in our society right now.”Although his defining title is a photographer, Klinko views himself as a “pop culture documentarian” and is fortunate that he’s interacted with stars of the 2000s and 2010s that define pop culture. Even though his work reflects a nostalgic Y2K moodboard, Klinko says his mindset is inspired by the ‘70s.“I really reminisced about the ‘70s — the whole disco ball, Studio 54-type of lighting,” he says. “So all I was really trying to do is bring the current 2000s artists into that ‘70s bling, glam kind of atmosphere. Little did I know, the cameras and lighting that I used were very advanced, compared to the equipment that was available in the ‘70s.” Klinko agreed that the aforementioned album artwork for Carey, Blige and Bowie were incredibly detailed and received praise for capturing minor details like eyelashes, skin texture, jewelry and fabric. This level of detail is, of course, best-viewed in-person. ICONS KLINKO has been open for a few weeks now, and Klinko notes that its presence and engaging crowd is a “defining Texas moment.” As he references the joke about everything being bigger in Texas, he mentions that the love her hometown shows is proof that Houston is “really proud of Beyoncé” and that the exhibit will probably return in late September during the Renaissance tour. In the meantime, Klinko is keeping an eye out for his artwork of Bowie on The Weeknd’s new show for HBO Max, The Idol, since the artist gave permission to license the image for the show. “To me, that's pop culture that goes full circle. That's sort of really, really fun,” he says. Photos courtesy of Markus Klinko https://www.papermag.com/markus-klinko-beyonce-2659453796.html

Into the mind of a Zillennials :
Both Millenial and Gen Z
Urban Dictionary defines zillennials as "too young to relate to the core of millennials but too old to relate to the core of Generation Z. They were 2000's kids and transitioned from teenagers to adults during the 2010's."
Born in 1996, when I found out about the term zillennial it comforted me, but it also made me wonder and think more about this micro-generation I belong to and the things we’ve been through. The more I analyzed my own generation and thought about it in the grand scheme of things, the more I realized that by understanding my generation a person could gain many very particular and important insights into the most active buyers of the current market, 20-40 year olds.
So let’s start with Nostalgia. Why is it such a big trend nowadays, especially with these generations? Well, let 's use Zillennials as our core analysis point. For us in this generation nostalgia is particularly strong because we feel old, we feel like we’ve experienced so much in your short lives that we already look forward to moments of nostalgia and remembering the simpler days of dial-up internet and having to despertly avoid using the internet on our phones or we would be murdered with absurd charges on our phone bill for 1MB of internet.
This point of disconnect between age and experiences lived is something a lot of people of these generations share. Let’s start with the amount of evolution in technology these generations saw. While Boomers and Gen X were only introduced to rapid technology changes well into their adult years, Millennials, Zillennials and Gen Z have been dealing with the rapid evolution of the internet and technology in general since some of them were babies.
Speaking personally I was 4 when I started using a computer and dial-up internet. By 7 I had a Myspace, Facebook and a MP3 player and already knew how to burn my own CDS. By 10 I was already using Wi-Fi and uploading videos to youtube and blogging. Now at 25 smart homes are a normal thing, I have a smartwatch that I can answer calls on as if I’m a Power Ranger, Elon Musk is making a neuro-link that can connect the human brain to the internet and all of the things I saw in the futuristic movies and kids shows of the 2000’s are now reality! How can a person not feel old like this?
Keeping all of that in our minds let’s now also take a look at the amount of historical, tragic and traumatizing events these generations have seen:
Y2K
9/11
War in the middle East
The 2000’s economic recession
The Burst of the world wide web
Bird flu pandemic
Crazy Cow disease pandemic
The Burst of Smart devices
The Swine Flu
Covid Pandemic
The New Economic Recession due to the Covid Pandemic
War between Russia and Ukraine
Aliens being real and confirmed
Housing Crisis
And these are just the very talked about and world wide events.
When you take into considerations all of these events and the technological evolution this generations have lived through you start getting a more clear look at certain driving factors of these generations:
We are unfazed by big world changing events and yet take small and focused problems very seriously - Obviously this is not a rule for absolutely all people of these generations, but nonetheless it is obvious when looking at socials that this is true. For example, we are currently years into the war in Ukraine and 3 years into the Covid Pandemic. Have those problems been resolved? No. Are they headlines any more, of course not! People care more about Instagram turning into Tiktok. Twitter becoming X and Elon Musk being stupid, Why? Because what are we going to do anymore about the war or the pandemic? The people that care are all vaccinated and have protested about the pandemic and the war. Nothing really happened, as we are used to, so we move on to things that we feel we can actually make changes. Also our planet is literraly boiling us alive because we can not seem to slow down our polution and consumerism.
We care more about mental health, being ecological, LGBTQAI+ rights, legalizing weed, using second hand objects and other things that Boomers tend to think of as secondary because we don’t care about the "big scheme of things" (AKA money and capitalism) anymore. I know our world is doomed due to climate change, rich people wanting to be more rich, pollution and violence, so our focus is trying to make life easier while we still have time here.

New Balance and Mowalola are proud to introduce their first collaboration with the launch of the Mowalola 9060. Initially debuting on the runway for Mowalola’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection at Paris Fashion Week, the new 9060 collaboration includes two colorways: black/purple/yellow, and black/teal/pink. The former pair will be exclusive to Mowalola’s platforms. Both versions of the 9060 silhouette will be available first on November 11th at 7pm UK and globally on November 18.
Dubbed “Burglarwear,” the collection visually explores the concept of thievery-- what it means to take something for one's own, versus to steal, weaponizing ownership as a means of self-expression.
The creative campaign accompanying the launch features a dark and dangerous high-speed chase, involving the MBI (Mowalola Bureau of Intelligence), who is in hot pursuit of the girl with the most wanted shoes – the New Balance x Mowalola 9060. The perfect party shoe, inspired by rebellion and nightlife, the highly coveted 9060 collaboration is durable for moshing and dancing all through the night.
The New Balance x Mowalola 9060 boasts a leather and mesh upper resting on a chunky ABZORB midsole, offering an athletic yet tech-focused look. The 9060 is a new expression of the refined style and innovation-led design that have made the 99X series home to some of the most iconic models in New Balance history. The 9060 reinterprets familiar elements sourced from classic 99X models with a warped sensibility inspired by the proudly futuristic, visible tech aesthetic of the Y2K era.
The Mowalola x New Balance 9060 is available now exclusively at Mowalola.com and globally on newbalance.com and at select global retailers now with suggested retail pricing of $179.99 USD. To learn more follow @newbalance or visit www.newbalance.com.

Blessed-cursed. The best example of duality in an ENHYPEN title track name.
And probably the most subtle one about it too (other than Tamed-Dashed).
The MV is similar to Tamed-Dashed in that it, on a surface level, has little to do with the storyline. It’s no TXT ‘Nap of a Star’, let’s just say that. It’s also similar to Drunk-Dazed in its use of lighting, camera angles, and general cinematography.
It reminds me a lot of this BTS Dionysus fan MV, as well, and of JUST B’s ‘Tick Tock’ MV.
Tumblr media
We begin in this apartment, which I have seen in some BTS media, but am unsure where - perhaps ‘Ego’ and the Wings album?
It’s also 1999 going into 2000, which is funny since it’s before any of the members were even born. It also informs some of the aesthetic of the MV, which, again, is similar to ‘Drunk-Dazed’. I think this is less ‘early 2000s fashion’ and more ‘TV version of what 20s people think 2000s fashion looks like’, but it gets the point across. It’s almost certainly a way to show how the boys remain young forever - as immortal vampires. We see them in classic 17 and 1800s clothes in teasers for ‘Given-Taken’ and ‘Drunk-Dazed’, and in ‘Drunk-Dazed’, ‘Tamed-Dashed’ and ‘Blessed-Cursed’ we see them in more modern, 2000s to 2010s clothes. In ‘Blessed-Cursed’, we also see more futuristic clothes and scenes - think ‘Thunderbirds’ or ‘Ender’s Game’.
We are slowly moving forward through time, seeing how the world changes, yet the boys don’t change with it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We start with this Jay shot, which is overlaid with graphics, including ones showing the year ‘2000’, as well as ‘Y2K’. Are they trying to imply that ENHYPEN caused Y2K? That it was a supernatural event? Or are they just trying to cement the era and make Jay look cool? Probably the latter.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Throughout the MV, we are introduced to each of the boys in their own space. Jungwon is in a padded red room, with a light in the ceiling that reminds me of ‘Blood Sweat and Tears’, and with a guitar. A clear reference to music and idol life. Ni-ki is in this other room, with white light on one side and a yellow projection of ‘liar’, a word we know to be important to the album, on the other side.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jake and Heeseung come together in this (more on that later). Jake is in a white room with some red fur that makes not-too-subtle angel wings, and Heeseung is in a black space with sand on the floor and dust in the air. Jake’s wings also remind me of kagunes in Tokyo Ghoul - another sinister piece of imagery inspired by both Christianity and East Asian myth.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sunoo is somewhere with a wall of lights behind him (and looks like he came out of the ‘No More Dream’ MV), Jay is in a corridor which looks like it has gaping mouths on the side (look at the wall pattern to the right of his head), and Sunghoon is in a futuristic room on a throne.
Some interesting things to note:
Sunghoon is the one shown with futuristic imagery the most
Jake and Sunghoon are the only ones on thrones
Each piece of scenery has a different focus, and each has a unique source of lighting (more on lighting later).
And there goes my image limit! Very fitting - these shots have nicely set up the settings and vibe of the MV.

one thing you have to understand about 2000s fashion is that like... emo music was contemporaneous with the y2k biomorphic blob. we were all listening to straylight run or something corporate on windows media player visualizers and skins that looked like if zaha hadid was into kitsch. nobody could afford the fruit-flavored macs but we were surrounded by transitions lenses advertisements that made you think people slightly richer than you were living in a futuristic fantasy world, even though really you knew it was all greenscreen. this is how ashley tisdale happened, as a simultaneous rejection of the physical materiality of modern life and an acceptance of its overwhelming everythingness, as both a diversion into virtual fantasy world and an attempt to immanentize its eschaton
