Ok so you who needs to become a thing? Dorcas and Mary. And here are my selling points.

[quick question, is it just me who makes an insane amount of correlation between the colour lavendar and Dorcas? Like idk it just makes sense somehow. Ykwim?]

1) Their shipname would be something like:

A. lavendarhaze (cause prev point + Mary canonically has a hazy memory of her past. It makes no sense now that I'm typing this out but I swear it works)

B. or lavendarsea (from the research we did on Mary's name yesternight)

C. or OR ✨️Femmefatale✨️ (cause, hear me out on this, I can't think of a more femme person in our fandom than Mary and plus who can be more fatale than Dorcas "Voldy had to kill me personally" Meadows? Is it obvious that I am extremely sleep deprived rn?

D. Realizing her name has Meadows has now given me the option: SeasMeadows. (Can we please have an assessment of all these options please I need your thoughts.)

2) They would both love gossiping and they'll already be besties because of it. And then one day they're sitting together and Mary sees her laugh and in her head she is like oh and abruptly says "I like you." And Dorcas is like thrown back for a second but then she smiles slowly "I like you too." And that's that they now go on dates and they're a couple. Is that too boring? I feel like I'm always going to the oblivious sapphics trope. I mean I love it but... ykwim?

3. Their dates would be like picnics by the Great Lake watching the sunset and cute coffee dates and going on walks and making gift baskets for each other and stuff like that. Wowie is my brain so dry rn

4. They are lipsticks stains and written letters and heart emojies in texts and blue hour and rose bouquets and wine glasses with left over rosé and out of breathe giggles and crossed ankles below the table and origami swans for each other and late night phone calls and goodbyes in sticky notes on the fridge door.

5. I just think they're nice. : )

I got some of your agit art as my phone and laptop background (if you don't mind that) because it's so nice to look at and some of my designs for characters and environments have been inspired by your stuff a great deal (beta/proto kid especially)

The way you do colours, lineart and backgrounds is so pleasing to the eye. I love analysing every little bit of it when you post new art.

Olympia Soiree Part 4 - Yosuga Route

Damn, when Yosuga appeared and put those drunks bothering Byakuya in their place, I didn't even recognise his voice for a moment because of how cold he sounded. I guess that's "Lord Jigoku" talking and not Yosuga. Camelia running out of power scared me for a moment, I thought she broke lol! Glad to know it's just because Yosuga has been too busy to wind her spring so she "fell asleep". LMAO at everyone commenting on how fat Daifuku has become because Byakuya has been feeding him too well🤣 I found it so funny seeing Daifuku next to a real daifuku lollll. Omggg the colourful xiao long bao is so pretty!! I remember eating something like that before, honestly normal ones are the best, but I have to admit that seeing the various colours and sharing it with someone, choosing and trying the different colours is a fun experience in itself. Wait, I totally forgot, but Yosuga is only 20 years old?! Dang, he always acts so mature, I thought he was older than that loll, now I feel like I'm a granny compared to him🤣

Um, I didn't expect that. Yosuga is the only Purple left because his people all died from haku and he is the lone survivor? Okay, the past of the Purple is quite morbid. I wonder how frightening it must have been for Yosuga as a child to witness his older sister be the first to contract haku and then have it spread like a plague and be basically surrounded by death. The land being purified by flames is a very scary thought...and how unfair that they threw Yosuga to Yomi because he was outside the district that day and "survived". Really unfair that Yosuga has to bear the burden and "punishment" for being a Purple that let haku spread (since they didn't tell anyone and tried to cure it themselves apparently). Kinda crazy that they forbid Yosuga from "mating" though, like how controlling can they get for this guy. When Yosuga put candy in the letterbox for Byakuya, my heart felt so warm, he's so attentive and caring. Omggggg the CG of Byakuya and Yosuga with the cherry blossoms!! So beautiful!!! Well, honestly I was wondering why more men weren't "using" the women in Yomi to procreate and hope for their perfect colour children, so it's nice to know that Yosuga's existence changed that. I wonder how he did it and how he got all this power tbh.

It's cute how Byakuya realises that she likes Yosuga, I wonder what she'll do~ How nice that Tsukuyomi was the one who took care of Yosuga when he was little and left in Yomi by himself! I guess he could have been considered Byakuya's big brother if they actually got to bond haha. I really liked how Yosuga's words helped Byakuya realise what she wants her role in this island to be and have the resolve to do it. I honestly never thought of the idea that Byakuya could be the Leader of the White and one day lead her own clan with her children, the thought of it is actually really cool! I think it's really nice, especially since everyone has been pressuring her and telling her that her job is to have children so that the sun will not die with her, but now with Yosuga talking about her becoming a leader, she's decided that rather than living for others and listening to them, she actually wants to live for herself and choose for herself that she wants children because she wants to do that. It's just sad that her realisation also made her think that she definitely can't allow her feelings for Yosuga because he is forbidden to mate. Anyway it's sad to think that Yosuga and Kuroba had to witness an older sister that took care of them commit suicide and be decomposing with haku (after not being able to handle the stress of being raped). It's nice that it pushed Yosuga to protect other women in Yomi who are vulnerable, but yeah it's sad that they couldn't help her and had to see her body like that. I'm fascinated that Sakyo actually wants Yosuga to get married with Byakuya and mate so he can have more "White samples" through their kids, considering women of the White can only have daughters that will be borne of the White. I guess this rule where Yosuga is forbidden to mate is veryyyy flexible lol.

I've always wondered whether it was possible to go back to Tennyo Island, so it's kinda interesting to know that Tsukuyomi lied and Byakuya can actually go back, and the island would "welcome" her by getting rid of the whirlpools. Yosuga honestly makes me feel very confused haha. He seems to have such a love-hate relationship with Byakuya? He seems to "hate" her because he's always been told by the people of the Purple how terrible and scary women of the White are, especially since they have killed someone from the Purple before, but at the same time, Tsukuyomi told Yosuga all sorts of stories about Byakuya to him, and I feel like those stories made Yosuga come to "love" this girl that he never met. And then at the same time, it feels like Yosuga wants to die, and that's why he kept trying to push Byakuya to use Batsu on him by inappropriately touching her, even though it definitely made Byakuya less bothered than he thought lol. I feel so terrible for Yomogi, she just rejected a guy from the Yellow who had a wife and child, and he felt so humiliated that he accused her for seducing him and nearly got her executed for it! Glad Shura and them were able to stop that and just have her sent to Yomi, but it's pretty crap that this guy had enough power to even do that to the poor girl. I'm glad Byakuya has been able to help Yomogi and her mother reconnect through letters, I think that's wonderful. Yomi has always been a place so disconnected from the surface, so having these letters must give a lot of comfort to people who have always wondered how their children are doing down there.

Oh, so the previous leader of the Blue, Shura's husband was the one who "cleansed" the Purple with flames😮 Aww, Byakuya found out Yosuga built the letterbox for her, he's so sweet. I'm really happy about how Byakuya proudly told Kanan to publish to the world that she wants to take Yosuga as her husband, and to call him the best guy ever hahaha, she's so cool. Did Yosuga meet Byakuya as a child? Ooh, so, young Byakuya asked Tsukuyomi to give young Yosuga a seashell she found to kinda cheer him up since he just lost his parents and older sister, and had become all alone. Damn, Yosuga seducing Byakuya and telling her he wanted to go all the way with her was pretty hot hahaha, it's just too bad that I'm unfortunately not really feeling it for Yosuga's route, so I don't feel that much of an emotional connection to him even though I really like him as a character. Still cute though, especially when he kept blushing and kicked her out before he really couldn't control himself after she told him that he's her soulmate hahaha.

Even though the route hasn't really been that engaging to me, Yosuga speaking with Douma and asking for his permission to marry Byakuya was actually really heartwarming. I loved how he said he came from the depths of Yomi to the surface because he couldn't bear to be apart from her any longer. It legit made me swoon hahaha, and when he said he believes that Byakuya would not kill him even though he knows that she's capable of it and has mutilated Douma's hand. His firm belief in her and his resolve to be with her is just touching. Honestly, considering Shura's words all the time, it's unsurprising that her husband, the previous leader of the Blue, Akon was a vile jerk that raped Yosuga's sister hoping for her to bear his children, since Shura couldn't. When Shura revealed that she had haku though..it clicked why Sakyo was always so desperate on finding a cure, to the point that he's willing to sacrifice anyone in his way. I'm glad Olympia knew to make a deal with Sakyo and Shura though. She has the upper hand considering they need her body for experiments, so I'm really happy she's using what she has to protect Yosuga and her future children from being touched by them, and also articulating the need for progress in having the people of Yomi get to go to surface and stuff like that into becoming a reality instead of always being brushed aside as "impossible". It's really sweet how much Byakuya really wants this island to change for the better, whether it be the people's quality of life or to finding the cure for haku. It's nice to see Yosuga be able to finally cry properly in Byakuya's arms, and have a resolution to his sister's death after all these years.

I guess it's fitting for them to have sex for the first time at Tennyo Island haha, it’s where everything started, whether it be when she first gave him that seashell as a kid or when he showed her more of himself, and how much he wanted her to kill him. Anyway, I really love Yosuga's voice, but I have to admit that I really don't think their relationship is very romantic or sweet at all loll! Otherwise, Byakuya with purple hair is nice! I'm also glad that Yosuga feels like there's meaning to living now even after finding out the truth of his sister's death. He's felt trapped for so many years, it would be nice to see him with less burdens. Awww, I love how the ring he gave her is made out of moonlight shells (whatever they are), it's such a fitting ring for their love haha. Aww, so cute to see Asuha and Camelia get to see the sea, it's nice to think about how much potential growth there is for everyone, especially since Yomi will have a school too. Asuha can be a doctor like Kuroba🥲 Anyway, both bad endings are pretty sad, although I have to question the one where Byakuya uses Batsu on Yosuga... Like considering how fearful she is of using it and everything, I honestly can't imagine her doing it regardless of how much she "loves" Yosuga and wants to "save" him. Otherwise, the one where Byakuya becomes a lifeless puppet doing Sakyo's bidding in order to get Yosuga back from him was pretty devastating. Guess Yosuga was right to have been so harsh towards Sakyo, I guess I forgot how ruthless he can get when it comes to protecting Shura. Still shocked that Shura is actually his sister though. Btw, the CG of Byakuya was super beautiful despite the terrible situation. I love the short story where they bathe together though, that was niceeee!

Overall, I'm honestly pretty disappointed in Yosuga's route. He's so great as a side character, but sigh. I think I have to agree with a lot of other comments I've read where things just kinda go down after they go to Tennyo Island. Like, I get how Yosuga is a guy carrying a lot of pain and wanting to die, but the whole thing where he wanted to force her to kill him and that if she doesn't, then maybe she loves him enough that he'll try another way was just weird imo lol. He also quite uncomfortably can go too far considering how much he advocates for consent for the women in Yomi lol. Anyway, I think my biggest problem with this route was that the sequence of events felt clunky and never really flowed nicely for me. The ending was also solved very simply (as usual) considering how big of a problem it was for everything. However, I do appreciate getting more insight into Sakyo and Shura's actions, and I quite love how protective they are of each other. I guess you can say, Yosuga was also more childish than I thought and he didn't have a lot of the charm he showed in the common route, which was very saddening. I also don't think his CGs are very great either so it dampened my enjoyment even more lol. The romance was definitely lacking, and the sex scene etc was really cut short lol! Like yeah, they don't really show or say anything explicit usually, but Tokisada's and Riku's ones definitely felt much more passionate and engaging. But yeah, honestly it was a drag for me to finish Yosuga's route and I'm glad it's over. I guess I found it difficult to empathise with Yosuga even though his story was sad. It was nice that Byakuya and Yosuga both experienced similar circumstances where they both lost everyone in their clan and had become all alone, it made it feel sweet that they could both find someone they could connect with even though I like them more as individuals than together lol.

Homecooking [Apr ed]

April was an exciting month for me!

I had staycation as you know. .. I followed 2 badminton tournaments during my time off: the Korea Open & the Korea Masters. Due to the time difference, things were difficult but bcos I was on vacation, it worked out lol I also watched the ISU Short Track World Championship 2022 that happened in Montreal from April 8-10. Yes, it overlapped with the badminton tournament dates so I’d watch badminton till ‘very early’, then get up for the 8am start for the short track competition. It was intense! Hence I feel like my staycation was more hectic than my work days. But it was all worth it!

I had many thoughts re: the Short Track competition. 1st of all, Canadian Short Track skater Charles Hamelin retired after this race :’) it was soooo emotional omggggg I’m so happy that the Canadian team won the mens 5000m relay at the Beijing Olympics. I feel like that was a nice closure to his career, you know what I mean? As for the Korean Short Track team.. . TBH, the ladies division was kinda hard to watch at times. It was the return of SSH, who was in a lot of controversy & stuff for the past few yrs. I’m glad she returned but the team moments were so awkward. I also became a new fan of Lee June Seo, & I wished that the commentators would pronounce his name properly or at least, keep in consistent. There’s a Korean girl with surname “Seo”, & similar for her. .. “Seo” was pronounced differently all the time!!! There was “siu”, “sau”, “soo”, “so”. .. SMH. The closest is “saw” in English......... lol oh well. Anyway, congrats to the Korean team. Choi Min Jung is AMAZINGGGGG!

Okay, enough about the sports . .. haha

Random soup I made using white beech mushroom, onion, Spam, & chayote. Forgot what soup paste I used.. . but probably deonjang judging by the colour :P

I recently had the seafood version of this mung bean pancake. This is the original mung bean only version. I prefer the seafood one more bcos the seafood bits made the texture more interesting; this was more mushy & uniform throughout.

I may start doing this in my future homecooking posts - a book review break to share what I read during the month. It’s my goal to read 15 books this yr. This one is book #5 - “The Red Palace” by June Hur.

June Hur is a Canadian author who specializes in YA fiction (with a Korean setting). She’s written 3 novels (4th one to be released in 2023) & I’ve read AND OWN all 3! I know it’s YA but . .. I don’t typically base my choice on YA vs non-YA. Her stories are very interesting in that it’s mystery-solving & there’s just not much out there with the Korean historical setting, you know? I can see all 3 of her works as a Kdrama, esp this one! I breezed through it during the badminton x short track week! The pace was consistent; the characters were humane & relatable; the plot twist was excellent; style of writing (bcos it’s not a translated work) was very easy to read (also bcos it’s YA but still... it was well-written). I highly recommend this book!!

*PS: I plan to continue collecting her books ^^

Another pasta. This was was a tomato pesto sauce with beef + mushrooms. I decided to add some tomato as I was cooking .. . & yeah, the tomato juice -.-” the product became water-y.

Sujebi with napa cabbage & Korean fish cake (the long cylindrical ones).

Noodle soup with white beech mushroom, napa cabbage & imitation crab.

Mini portion of bibim-myeon with chicken breast over a bed of spinach.

Trying the strawberry cream cheese from Costco. It’s alright! Compared to other ones, the texture of this one was very soft & smooth.

JJAMPPONG with mini dumplings.

Another type of noodle with mini dumplings & fish cake.

As you can see. .. napa cabbage is a big part of my life LOL so is broccoli. I typically use broccoli for work meals bcos I feel they’re more filling. & napa cabbage.. . I don’t really like it in a dry dish if that makes any sense. It belongs in a soup of some sort bcos it’s so good at soaking up flavours.

Have you guys tried this??? If you haven’t, I don’t recommend it. It was very dry. ..

I FINISHED ANOTHER BOOK~ WooooooooT!! Book #6 DONE~

This is a sequel to Dial A for Aunties. I personally liked the first book more but this one was pretty entertaining as well. Compared to The Red Palace, this one took me slightly longer to finish. I didn’t find I was into it as much as The Red Palace. Still good though! An easy read!

Udon (yeah.. the square ones that I don’t like) with fish cakes, corn, napa cabbage, & cherry tomatoes. This batch of cherry tomatoes were larger than usual & unusually not very juicy. You know what you bite into one, oftentimes, tomato juice just squirts out? Well, not this one. It was hardier (?).

luckily, you had bought a beret a few weeks back and decided to put it on for show, giving yourself a once over in the mirror before heading back out

fred, once again, swore his heart had swelled in his chest and his eyes could hardly leave you

“bloody hell, woman, how do you do it?”

you looked down at yourself, “do what?”

he reached out for your hand and pulled you a little closer

holy hell man your art is heckin gorgeous!! the colours, the SoftNess Of It All, focken BEAUTIFUL if this hasn’t been asked before, what brushes do you use for art, especially linearting? i have trouble finding a brush that’s textured nicely and opaque enough so that i don’t have to duplicate the layer to make the lineart bolder, care to share your secrets?

And ofc! I primarily use Procreate now and its default brushes! But if you want to see my photoshop brushes, there is an ask I answered here!

For my Procreate brushes I’m gonna put the rest of the answer under the read more, because it got a bit long!

The main brushes that I usually circulate through are the Ink Bleed brush under the inking tab:

the Chalk and Shale Brush under the Calligraphy tab (except for these I go into the brush settings and turn StreamLine all the way down):

and I also like Peppermint and Derwent brushes under the sketching tab!

If you want to get a really nice, broad stroke I definitely recommend the Shale Brush + the Chalk brush! It’s also better to use them on a bigger canvas, because on a smaller canvas, the brush tends to look a bit too rough around the edges!

Anyway, I went on this trip in Feb 2019 & things were very well-normal. It’s just that the snow hit. .. & then everything closed =(

In this post, I’ll be focussing on the few shops that we went into (bcos they were open) haha

I forgot which ‘building’/zone this was but it was in the basement level. I felt like I’ve traveled back in time haha the architecture & style was very vintage-esque. I also think it’s the colour scheme too; like the above dark aqua colour, & below, the mustard & dark maroon.

This was probably the busiest indoor area we’ve been to. & the most opened shops too!

The variety of shops here was good but like. .. if only they were open. This was one of the few bigger shops that sold many handmade items. They were nice but so pricey. In Edmonton, we have this place called Ten Thousand Villages. This shop reminded me of that.

In the atrium of this basement area. This would have been a fun place to see but .. . closed.

I LOVE PAPER GOODS! Took a look but didn’t buy anything.

A shop we spent quite a long time in: Osara Commissary.

It is a Japanese vintage shop.

A lot of dishware. I was so scared of breaking stuff.. the layout of items in the store (tables/shelves) was very crowded.

Some calligraphy-related products. (Very pricey!!)

We had a good time in here. I left empty-handed since I didn’t find any ‘Seattle representative’ items for souvenirs. Their products were nice though; can’t deny that but it’s also not “special” & souvenir-worthy, you know what I mean? But DL got some panda pens for her sister/relatives. There’s a small stationary area near the till that I didn’t take any photos of bcos the cashier was like standing right there :P

Inside a shop called Golden Age Collectibles!

This is the world’s oldest comic shop!

So they had a lot of collectibles to say the least: from figurines, to sport cards, to comic books, to games, to magnets....... to pins. I shopped for pins here as souvenirs. They’re light, unique, & cute, & came from a special store.

Taking a fresh breathe from being in the basement level for so long haha it wasn’t that long, but the air is just different there compared to the nice crisp winter air, you know? It felt so nice~

Then we headed indoors to another section. These bagels looks so good!

DL & I went into a store that very much resembled Sunterra x Italian Centre: called Delaurenti Food & Wine! haha they had some ready-to-go deli items & a lot of gourmet products. The store was huge! Aisles & aisles of ‘same product’, like there was an aisle with just vinegars, an aisle with just chocolates, etc.. it was intense! I’ll just show you some stuff that interested me enough to take a photo :P

I really liked how the ppl traffic was so low in here.

MIL’s gochujang~ they have diff “flavours” of gochujang. The garlic one sounded great actually but so pricey!

Various oils that look like the small bottles of acrylic paint that I buy lol

Fancy creams. I really wanted to buy some of these but . .. gotta think about luggage space & everything. This was still just the 1st half of our trip. I am sure I could find these in Edmonton if I looked hard enough (or buy online) so not worth the USD price tag.

This was by far my fav packaging. The paper they used was this rough heavyweight paper (antique texture) & the loved the art. The wrap-around appearance is so appealing.

Here’s some with nice pattern - looked very holiday-y.

These were nice too. They kinda look like surrealistic book covers haha like a cover of a Murakami novel.

This set of pattern looked oriental, like the wall/window decor pattern of East Asian palaces. I think it also has to do with the gold lines as well. Looks very royal-esque.

We spent quite some time in this store bcos there were so many things to look at. It was an interesting place & I was so happy it was open!

So what did I end up buying? I got some chocolate, but it wasn’t from this shop. I got pins! Like a LOT of them, I think around 20. Many of which were coffee-related hehe bcos I love coffee. They were so cute! I didn’t take pictures of or inside the actual store, but there was a Seattle-only merch store that we stopped by, where I got some more chocolates, postcards, & coffee. I can’t remember the store of the store but it was just a small corner store. I thought the prices were reasonable from what we’ve seen (it hurts when you convert the USD to CAD but oh well).

Do you listen to music that’s not in English (other than kpop)?

Only Japanese tbh 😂😂 I do listen to Arabic songs when my parents play them in the car but I don't intentionally look for it myself ._.

Do you have a nighttime routine or do you just sleep whenever?

wELL SLEEP hehehe...... I have one of the worst sleep routines omg like I basically sleep at 03:00 - 04:00 (more like I prepare to get to bed at 03:00 and actually am in bed at 04:00) and then have to get up between 05:00 and 06:00 depending on when my classes start...... and then on weekends my sleep time shifts 1/2 hours (so 5/6am) and I wake up at like 13:00....... I do not fit in this social construct designed for larks ><

If you could join a group who would it be and why?

If gender matters then I'd choose Mamamoo or Pristin (Mamamoo cuz according to my friend's mum I apparently have a nice voice for soulful music 😂 and they're playful so qwq and Pristin cuz they seem fun and cute qwq) if it doesn't then Astro cuz omggggg they are sooo fun qwq I'm just qwq I can imagine myself being excited all the time and playing with Myungjun tbh 😂😂😂 it's either that or I'll be asleep every time the others decide it's a great time to film sth :p

Would you rather go on vacation in a city or in nature?

I love looking at nature but I am so so scared of insects omggg like I'd go to like a greenhouse or sth in the middle of the city 😂😂 or just a green city cuz those are nice qwq but yh, def a city person ://

What languages do you speak? or want to learn?

I speak English, Dutch, Egyptian Arabic, and a bit of German (slowly starting to forget everything I learned in school for 7 years...) and am in the process of learning Korean and Japanese :3

The smell of the earth after it rains 🍑🍑🍑 also just fresh scents I guess?? I have a really sensitive nose so artificial lavender smells and perfumes with a non-fruity scent give me head and stomach aches ;w;
