favorite thing about them: god how to choose. i love how contradictory he is. i love how much he blends into the background and has a net zero relevance on the game's story, and yet he sticks out like a sore thumb, both thematically and tonally. the judgement spiel makes him the direct deliverer of a core game mechanic, and yet he's... such an outsider about it. i love how morally grey he is. a resonance hybrid between a painfully selfless good man and a self serving bastard. he's the depressed nihilistic man. he is his girlfriend's manic pixie dream girl. he is just some guy. he is the last barrier against universal annihilation. he serves cunt (but only once). he parallels flowey in his refusal to engage the narrative, but whereas the narrative starts orbiting flowey instead, sans condems himself as the audience to the player's actions. #finalgirl. also it's still a theory, but if the otherworld stuff is ever confirmed ingame that will make him the most video game character of all fucking time. hands down. no competitors.
least favorite thing about them: every morning i wake up and i stare in the mirror and i ask myself "do i wanna fuck sans undertale??" and i hesitate. and well i could do without that kind of pressure
favorite line: "that's a promise" "besides. chances are... i've already tried to steer you in the right direction. so what can i say? what can i say that will change the mind of a being like you...?"
brOTP: i like whatever he and grillby got going on. that barman/regular comradery, the mood of the bar late at night and being the only client left. the silent vulnerability of it. it's all hypothetical since grillby doesn't really Have much of a presence in the game, but they obviously get along well. alphys too, what a pair of nerds. oh my god i didn't mention papyrus. oh well, they don't feel like a brotp tbh, it's like. they're halves of the same coin. sans inevitably implies papyrus in my mind, and vice versa. do NOT separate them.
OTP: do you have to fucking ask
nOTO: you know people usually put stuff like incest or age gap ships here because they make them understandably uncomfortable, but if there's a ""ship"" that i violently HATE re:sans it's. whenever they make him and toriel a mother-son dynamic. i am not talking about platonic or qpr soriel, i love those as well, they are besties first and lovers maybe, i mean SPECIFICALLY the take that she's his mother. no the fuck she's not. infantilization of sans and mommyification of toriel aside, that's the entire point of their friendship she is NOT his mother. they're on the same level, he is literally the first person she's gone eye to eye with as an equal in her centuries of isolation and THAT is what helps her snap out of her cycle. she is not his superior, he is not her protège. it grosses me out so much.
random headcanon: half decent singer, but hates to sing in public unless he's being a clown on purpose. used to sing papyrus to sleep as a baby. that's a pretty standard hc though, uhhhh.... he hates drinking. though he's surprisingly knowledgeable about corks, for some reason.
unpopular opinion: abby i'm so sorry i know u like it & i 🤝 about it in some cases ex: specific fics we both like, but he does NOT canonically have 1HP outside of a genocide battle. and i'd really appreciate it if people stopped pushing that hc on everyone else.

Character ask: Queen Esther
Favorite thing about them: Her courage and selflessness when she risks her life to save her people, and her cleverness in the way she uses flattery, entertainment, and well-chosen wording to maneuver the villainous Haman into a vulnerable position and turn her royal husband against him.
Least favorite thing about them: I suppose the fact that at first she's reluctant to approach the king without being summoned and come out as Jewish to him. Of course it's natural that she's afraid to risk her life, but still, thousands of other people's lives are on the line and she almost chooses to protect herself rather than them.
Three things I have in common with them:
*I'm part Jewish.
*I'm often afraid to reveal my Jewish heritage in public.
*I often wear purple – most mass-produced Queen Esther costumes for Purim seem to dress her in purple, since it was associated with royalty in the ancient world.
Three things I don't have in common with them:
*I'm not married to a king.
*I'm not an orphan.
*I've never been to the Middle East.
Favorite line:

OTP: Well, I have to say her husband King Ahasuerus, though it's hardly a modern love match, and though there are plenty of valid reasons to loathe him and wish Esther could leave him. If not for their marriage, she couldn't have saved her people.
nOTP: Haman.
Random headcanon: I accept the Talmudic tradition that she was a vegetarian rather than eat non-kosher meat in her husband's palace, but not the tradition that she lived on only legumes and seeds. While I understand the appeal of saying "Out of virtue and piety she turned down the most tempting dishes in favor of plain, simple food," that's not a balanced diet, and Persian cuisine has so many wonderful vegetable dishes she could have chosen from!
Unpopular opinion: I don't think she and Queen Vashti need to be pitted against each other. While I don't like the tradition of vilifying Vashti in order to glorify Esther as the superior, deserving replacement, neither do I think admiring Vashti's courage and defiance means we should look down on Esther for being "docile and submissive" or "complicit with the patriarchy." After all, it's by finally breaking the rules that Esther saves her people, and ironically, despite having banished Vashti for her disobedience and chosen Esther as a suitably docile replacement, Ahasuerus obeys Esther's will in the end. I admire and sympathize with both women and see Vashti as ultimately vindicated by Esther.
Song I associate with them: Well, it's mainly a song about Haman, not Esther, but I have to choose this popular silly children's song for Purim, "A Wicked, Wicked Man." It's the song I most associate with the holiday.

Favorite thing about them: I just love his whole personality loll. He's a crazy, funny little guy that I think is really cool
Least favorite thing about them: Nothing. Only when he gets really mischaracterized by official writers who don't understand him, which happens A LOT

Notp: Batcest, any of them that have adults paired up with him, including the canon ones Mar'i x Damian, Cassie x Damian, and Cassandra x Damian
Random headcanon: He can do ballet and it's because it's something Talia taught him while he was growing up in the league and being trained to learn many other things. He's a skilled professional at it now because of this and also bonds with his sister Cass over it and will sometimes even join her in her dancing. He also tries teaching Jon too, which can become fun for them both, and his other friends sometimes as well whenever they get curious or don't actually understand it that much like they think they do. Damian also owns a pair of green ballet slippers, but usually keeps them put away in his closet to keep them safe and clean and only takes them out when he really does want to use them.
Unpopular opinion: Okay sooo, a lot of people believe that Talia's character just gets only more ruined because of Damian's existence or whatever, but I don't believe that at all. Damian may be her son and is big part of her life because of it, but his character itself has nothing to do with hers like that at all when it comes to hateful writers choosing to write her horribly and just as another evil, lunatic villain and whatever else. Some people even say that he stole her story, but he did grow up with her during those 10 years of his, so of course he's gonna have the same life she dealt with and is also gonna have to get through certain issues from it now too because of it. But the point is that if anyone's gonna get blamed for Talia's usual trash characterisation, it should be the writers who hate her, NOT Damian who has many writers of his own who don't even treat him that well or like him that much at all either just like with Talia. Trying to pick on him is never going to fix anything about her. If Talia's ever gonna get anything better that she deserves in comics and other things, it needs to be done by writers who actually have care about her character and don't have anything weird against her that just only causes bad intentions of messing her up and then THAT'S what will finally start doing justice for her. And this not meant as an argument towards anyone or whatever btw, this is just me stating my opinion and beliefs about the whole thing
Song I associate with them: Self love by Metro Boomin & Coi Leray (Mostly because even though Damian may always put on a very confident act and always seems so prideful of himself a lot of the times, he actually has a lot of insecurities underneath all of that and doesn't actually always think so great of himself as a person)

I just LOVE the way Gleb Melinkov draws him and gives him his Arab features without holding any of it back as well! He even gives him long lashes (longer than Flatline's even, which I noticed while looking at another panel from this series!), which I really love too!!

Favorite thing about them: I really always liked his leadership style, especially in the Teen Titans 2003 cartoon, which I grew up with
Least favorite thing about them: Only when he's potrayed as a dumb, clumsy guy in some canon stories just to lift up other characters and put them in a bigger spotlight instead. It makes no sense because he's a professional acrobat and always has been that way since he was a little kid, so how could he ever be so trippy all over the place as if there are invisible banana peels getting in the way everytime?! And he is very smart, especially with all of the important experience he has from his many years of hero work, so he's not dumb either and if he was, he wouldn't have made it so far with this kind of life because of it or ever get much done like he did because he has to overly depend on others knowledge
Favorite line: "Titans Go!"
Brotp: Dick and Starfire, Beast boy, Raven, Cyborg (I know he's friends with many others too, but this is the group I grew up with and am more attached to, so they're my fave to see together)
Otp: Dickkory because they bring the best out in eachother and have so much love for one another too
Notp: DickBabs because I just don't think they really fit that well together at all and most times Barbara just makes Dick feel bad in a lot of ways with how she usually treats him in a romantic relationship, and that's not a healthy thing to deal with at all. And then there's also Batcest and Slade x Dick (which I don't even get at all because Slade is just such a horrible, gross and very toxic guy)
Random headcanon: Years ago, back when he would used to have long hair still, he one time had it tied up in a ponytail and then a villain chopped it off in half while fighting him. Dick was pissed and really kicked their butt for doing that
Unpopular opinion: People always think of Dick as the positive, sunshine guy and then there are the ones who get very mad about it and say that he's actually the angry, tough guy because him being super friendly and happy is just too "ooc". I don't listen to any of that stuff, because I believe that he's actually both. He IS a friendly guy with a warm, charming, humorous attitude that easily attracts others, and is very much an inspiration to many because of his positive, sunshine vibes as a great, hardworking hero, but none of it makes him dumb, weak or gullible, because he IS also the type who can become very serious and gets mad when he needs to be, also doesn't actually take bull from anyone, can be chaotic and crazy, works a LOT, is independent, does have a lot of intelligence and especially experience that should never be forgotten about just because he's nice, and also definitely has the determined mind to take care of things and get them done even though others will sometimes try to tell him what to do, but he doesn't actually listen because he's not the type to easily be controlled that way like a puppy would be and if he believes it's something that needs the attention and it's what should be done and no one else is doing it, then he will do it
Song I associate with them: Annihilate by Metro Bommin, Swae Lee, Lil Wayne & Offset (because it's about being fearless, embracing self strength and individuality, and becoming a much more independent person, and I think that totally fits Dick because he's not the type to fear much and hates being stuck under Batman's shadow and having independence is something that always had an important role in how Dick's life goes)
Favorite picture of them: Well, I just found this pic of him, which was done by Travis Moore
It's very nice and really shows the struggle he goes through as a hero a lot of the times. Also, I really always liked the way he draws Dick, because he doesn't just look like everyone else and isn't sharing same face syndrome with his brothers and Bruce either, it's just a look that's unique to only him and it fits him very well. It's the exact way I always imagine him looking like whenever I envision him in my mind, even the hairstyle that's given to him by this artist too!!!

Favorite thing about them:
I really like how as a character he was able to deeply touch so many people!! Seeing so many people finding relief in being able to relate to and emphasize with the character makes me happy.
Least favorite thing about them:
I mean, his personality? I don't like how his many flaws are written to be interpreted as strong points / good traits for his character to the point no flaw is actually a flaw, it makes the reading experience very frustrating for me.
Favorite line:

Mmmmhh, I don't spend a lot of time thinking about Dazai. Soukoku, probably. The Buraiha trio makes me emotional a little. Souheki, but in a very passive-aggressive, over-competitive, one-sided rivality, can't-stand-each-other way. Dazai and Kyouka. Dazai and Atsushi too I suppose, though I prefer them romantically. I think he makes for a lot of interesting dynamics with virtually all the characters, but none compells me in particular tbh.
OTP:
Odazai is plain canon to me, idk what to tell you. I think they make for a beautiful, tragic love story. Get you a man who is willing to change the path of his whole life for another man just like that, nobody does it like them (actually, wait, I can think of another man... ).
Although I always distantly liked them, dazatsu has grown on me like, an INSANE amount in the last few months. I'm not sure what happened. I think it was an unfortunate (lol) coincidence of growing a little fonder of Dazai and just wanting to give more space and agenda to Atsushi. Like to me a lot of what dazatsu is really is about giving Atsushi more agency and autonomy and independence and overall just respecting him as a complex, full fleshed out character. I don't see ANY kind of power imbalance in it I keep finding people talk about. Dazai pushes Atsushi to be better every day, and Atsushi does exactly the same for Dazai. Atsushi admires and respects Dazai, and Dazai admires and respects Atsushi equally. I really don't know why the ship isn't more popular and instead just gets discarded most of the time tbh. I feel like everyone should sit down a second and actually give Atsushi the dignity to choose for himself.
And fyozai!!! The investment in this ship mostly goes on waves for me but despite that I firmly believe that they really make for an engaging and interesting dynamic to be interpreted romantically. The epitome of “You're both just enabling each other's mental illnesses. You're both perfect for each other. Never change. Just never involve anybody else in what you've got going on.”
nOTP:
Nothing comes to my mind.
Random headcanon:
Not canon related, but in modern aus I feel like he'd be one to always end up working at ceo roles and he would HATE it. He fires himself and starts working at some cheap frozen yogurt place and one month later he'll find himself as the ceo of the most important oil company of the country AGAIN without him even realizing it / despite his active efforts to avoid that. And he HATES IT. He fires himself again but the loop only repeats forever. He's just that kind of person for whom all doors open automatically.
Unpopular opinion:
............ I could be here forever. I regretfully fail to relate to a lot of characterization / readings of the character I've seen the fandom give him. I really don't want to dwell on this so I'll just mention something mostly unrelated to his characterization: I wholly can't share the take of him being physically built like??? At all??? Which got REALLY popular a few months ago. Dude feels like he never lifted a finger his whole life, I really don't know where the idea comes from???? And I personally don't take his manga visual portrayal as a telling factor for this; pretty much all the characters have the same body type, it's impossible for me to base the buff Dazai assumption on how he's drawn in the manga.
Just one thing about his chracter though stop making him matchmaker for ss/kk he really isn't stop don't do it please

My girl!!! My high school gay awakening and I am Not Joking when I say that. I'm gonna be shameless in this one not gonna lie I'm sorry but not sorry for whatever gets written down here.
Favorite thing: I- making me choose--- I love her your honor I've loved her since I was like fourteen that's half my life by now- Honestly though her kindness despite what she's been through is her greatest strength. Choosing to be kind like that even after having seen some of the worst things that their world has to offer is admirable.
Least favorite thing: We don't get to see her exist enough outside of Things Happening(tm) ): I want to see her be silly I want to see how she is on a normal day I want to see how she is beyond just when she's around Nero.
Favorite line: "I don't know anyone else who is as human as you are." This one knocks me tf out Every Time.
BrOTP: This one's the hardest to pick, because like we don't get enough of seeing her interact with anyone else. Beyond the obvious of picking Nico I think she could get along well with Vergil if they manage to get past the absolutely Horrible First Impression he managed to pull off in the form of Nero's arm 💀

Random headcanon: Kyrie was a certified weird girl when she was little. As she grew up she grew out of it (mostly) but when she thinks no one's looking she lets herself get silly. (yeah this found its way into my dadgil series. You will see more of it later and that's a threat.)
Unpopular opinion: Kyrie can swear, she just chooses not to most of the time. It makes the times she does more impactful because when she swears it's the emotional equivalent of full-naming someone when they're in trouble.

favorite thing about them: her rebellious, fighting spirit is absolutely what drew me in (I feel like that was the case with so many of us!) I loved that she was very clearly the delinquents' WILD CHILD!
least favorite thing about them: I hated how she treated her brother sometimes. Obviously after Lincoln's death is the most glaring example, but it's not the only one. It's a shame we weren't given more opportunities to see the two addressing & healing from that toxic pattern they had going (because the Blake Siblings really were super important to each other!)

honestly this isn’t as much to do with her as a character as it is to do with the people who’ve played her but she has done so much for my self esteem in a really roundabout way. as someone with dark brown eyes and frizzy kinda untamable brown hair reading fic about her helped me appreciate more things about myself.
if you struggle with self image i really cannot recommend highly enough finding a character who looks and acts like you and reading stories where someone is absolutely, irrevocably in love with them. whether that’s platonically or romantically. i know it’s weird but being able to look in the mirror or at some aspect of my personality that i don’t like and say “that’s still lovable” is WONDERFUL.

I'm actually hesitating between Fusell and Buggler... eh fuggit I'll let you choose ;A;
I honestly cant do buggler i have nothing nice to say about the R interpretation, which if you are who i am assuming would probably suck to hear... But i DO really like Fussell
Favorite thing: the fact that he balances out the sbr2 cast making it more camp than grating when hes onscreen, close second is definitely how he was characterized
least favorite thing: the fact they made him distinctly ex human or at least incredibly human like in design, shoulda been more fuckt up tbh. would really sell the agony... either that or at LEAST keep him obscured ontill the helmet broke for symbolism

unpopular opinion: he was better than yet another evil team- i said it- the cast already being as big as it is with the dastardlies and the siblings they wouldve made 5 or 6 half baked characters under the time crunch they had that i think it genuinely wouldve made sbr2 worse.

Favorite thing about him- Honestly, everything. In literally every version of Newsies I’ve heard of, he’s just so silly and goofy but still retains that kind of street-smart, wary air about him, and his character is just so fun and amazing!
Least favorite thing about him- He traded his mom for a box of cigars, what a bad son >:( /j
Favorite line- “Could you stow the seriosity long enough to just drink in the moment… *gasp* I’m famous!!!”
brOTP- Race and Davey. Just the vibes, y’know. They’d be best of friends- Davey would keep Race out of jail, and Race would teach Davey to live a little.
OTP- This is honestly the hardest question of this. I love Sprace, and Ralbert, and Spralbert… can’t choose :(
nOTP- Race/Jack (Rack? Jace?). As with a couple other ships I’m not fond of, I just think they’d never see each other as anything more than brothers.
Random headcanon- Race loves strawberries. He’ll steal/eat any he sees at farmer’s markets or in people’s houses (he’s been caught stealing strawberries from the Jacobs’ more than once). He loves the sweetness, and they remind him of being a small child.
Unpopular opinion- I don’t really love the notion that Race is some dumb, slutty twink. It’s a hilarious thing to write for him, and it’s funny to read when done right, but I think as a street-hardened newsie he wouldn’t be so… soft, y’know?

everything. i can’t choose. she is my favorite idk. Okay but actually once again i enjoy her depth a lot LOL i’ve spoke about it a million times but it will remain true 4ever. i love analyzing her behavior ohhh omg i just love her growth in general from s2 -> s5… she initially used to recoil at even the idea of romance, especially with a GIRL, but in s5 she could tell biff to his face that she’s a lesbian and that’s just so. Like she came so far ☹️

the random biphobia in 5x2 or whatever ep it was. like her saying she was glad she didn’t have to worry about her girlfriend “straying for dick” hmmm. i really really disliked that and also how OOC it was?? like wtaf. but that’s more of a writer issue again i think. still i’d say that’s my least favorite thing, because while she has a lot of negative traits, i wouldn’t necessarily say any of those are my least favorite. mostly because it requires much more nuance than just “i don’t like that she’s mean” like yeah i don’t like it when people are mean but idk. it requires much more thought than just saying that + she does realize it. she slowly grows from it, i mean we don’t see a lot of spelled out growth but there definitely is and we also know she does have a heart of gold deep down. and she’s a good friend. it sucks that she’s bad at expressing that but that’s not a least favorite trait that’s actually part of why i like her so much?! like her struggle w that kind of stuff and deflecting by just saying rude things. soooo yeah my least favorite thing is just the random biphobia i guess lol

favorite thing about them: his character development!!! When I first played P3 I din't like him but there was something saying that he'd get better.... he does!!!!! I also love how in Reload he gets his new Theurgy a different time that he gets his new Persona but that's less a junpei thing and more a reload thing....

Uhhh I could go on a rant about Personas and about how Hermes and Medea fusing is a parallel to how Orpheus and Thanatos fuse(resuscitation(song in 3 that plays when junpei summons trismegistus) and self redemption(song in 4 that plays when makoto summons thanatos) have the same tune) but that would somehow turn into p5 spoilers and how it's WILD that both Robin Hood and Loki exist when the only other examples of someone having 2 main Personas(wild cards only have 1 that acts like a regular person's persona with how it evolves the rest are shared between wild cards and change between rereleases) are the guy that had a Shadow inside him that's abscence created the Persona and a guy that had someone else give their life to him(so life and personas are in some way linked too) ESPCIALLY since they fuse together like the others end up doing(i know all p5s 3rd tier personas have their 1 and 2 fuse but they both existed at the same time and arent evolutions of each other so it doesnt fit) and was this supposed to be about Junpei?
