--- VISERYS did not do much around this place. he had accepted john’s offer to teach him about principles of engineering. who knew? if he enjoyed the work enough, it was possible that he would pursue a degree. however, he was still wanting to be served on a silver platter, and he was stubbornly rejecting the fact that he would need to WORK in this new life. he did not want to. he was once a prince, who was meant to become KING. he should not need to lift a finger. when a knock came at the door, he expected to see his mentor and father-like figure behind its frame. instead, he saw his little sister. for once, he did not try to mask his surprise upon seeing her. “daenerys,” he greeted neutrally, but it was better than the hostile way in which he’d addressed her before. he liked the idea that they could slowly mend their bond. “what brings you by?” was it just him, or... did she appear quite NERVOUS? or was his perception off?

I love all your headcanons with the Dimitrescu daughters, so hats off to you, if it doesn't bother, can you do a headcanon about the 3 daughters with a male S/O on their wedding night?
Broken Truth: Hmm, that sounds simple enough. Let the words...
*STATIC*: Broken, wait. I have an idea.
Broken Truth (Looks at the mask): Let me hear it, *STATIC*.
*STATIC*: Do you remember the ask you did for Lady Dimitrescu meeting her daughters' partners: Th Village Painter, The Village Jeweler, and The Village Blacksmith?
Broken Truth: Yes, what about them?
*STATIC*: Here's my idea. (Whispering something)
Broken Truth: Oh! I like that idea! Let's go with that. Let the words weave together! - Names - Bela's Partner - The Village Artist - His name shall be Magnus. Cassandra's Partner - The Village Jeweler - His name shall be Matias. Daniela's Partner - The Village Blacksmith - His name shall be Maximus.
[At The Wedding of Magnus Vilkas & Bela Dimitrescu]
The Court of Castle Dimitrescu was decorated with the finest exports all across Romania - The Vilkas Lord spared to expense when it came to making his future wife happy; she was the very light of his life.
He stood in the room allowed her future son-in-law to use to prepare himself, looking himself in the mirror as he adjusted his tie.
The gleam of his Family Ring shined in the light when he secured his tie around his neck. He holds out his dominant hand, looking upon the colored gems that created his Family Crest. This ring gave him so much power and standing as a Noble Village House but at the same time, it brought back a very painful memory.
Before the Lord of House Vilkas could think back on it, there was a knock at the door. He spoke to the other person on the other side of the door, commanding them to enter: The door opened and a familiar face stepped into the room - The Village's Jeweler, Matias.
"Greetings, Lord Vilkas." The Jeweler bowed but it was met with a scoff from the Lord.
"Do not bow to me, Matias. You are a Vilkas as well, besides you're my twin brother; no formalities." The Lord said as he faced his brother.
"Regardless of our blood bind as brothers, you are still the Lord of House Vilkas and must be treated as such, even by blood,
" Matias said.
"Speaking of blood..." Magnus inhaled and exhaled before asking his question, "Did he come?" He asked.
"No. When I went to his house to see if he would attend, he slammed to door in my face; he says he wants nothing to do with the Vilkas Family." Matias explained causing the lord to turn his gaze to the ground in what looked to be heartbreak, "My Lord, it was not your fault." He said.
"Oh, really? Then why is he not here? It was my birth that ruined his life and...it's not fair - we were both robbed: Him of his rightful place and me an older brother." The Lord of Vilkas said.
"Brother, you and I were born on the same day but you are the only one he blames. If anyone is to blame, it's father; he was the selfish bastard that robbed us both." Matias said as he walked over to his elder brother and placed his hand on his shoulder, "Try not to think about this today, it's a very special day."
"Yes, you are right. Today is the day I marry the most amazing woman on the face of the Earth." Magnus smiled.
"Second best, Brother - My Cassandra is the most beautiful." Matias said with a smirk
The brothers argued over which sister was the most lovely when they saw the time and finished up before heading down the Courtyard.
The music - composed by Matias on the keyboard - began to play as Bela - wrapped in the finest silks that made her dress - walked down the aisle by her mother with her youngest sister walking behind her with a basket of black rose petals, throwing them in the air.
Once Bela reached the front, her hands locked with Magnus', who looked into her eyes with tears in his own.
"You are a true gem, my beloved." He said.
"Thank you, My Lord."
Mother Miranda - who took the position of a power of a priestess - called out to the guests: The Lords, The Daughters of Dimitrescu, and the residence of House Vilkas.
Once the vows were read and the 'I Do's were side, "By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride."
And he did, with all the love in his heart - which was endless.
[At The Wedding of Matias Vilkas & Cassandra Dimitrescu]
The Famed Jeweler of the Romanian Village smiled at himself in the mirror as he fixed his suit's jacket with a wide smile on his face - the Vilkas Family Crest Brooch secured to his chest over his heart and soon, he was going to place the crest of the Dimitrescu Dragons beside his own.
"You smile as if you are the cat that devoured creme." His elder brother chuckled from his place by the dresser, "You are really happy, aren't you?"
"Why wouldn't I be? I am going to marry the most incredible woman on the face of this planet - a true goddess given human form." Matias beamed as he fixed his tie.
"We've been through this, Little Brother - Bela is the most incredible." Magnus scoffed.
"Your opinion - Not Fact. Besides, My Cassandra shall always be the most amazing woman in my eyes; she is just too perfect to explain with words. I'm glad Madam Dimitrescu allowed me the privilege of marrying her daughter, I don't deserve her." Matias said with a smile as he thought back.
"I thought the same thing when I was getting married to Bela - she still is a wonder I shall never really deserve but I will always treasure." Magnus smiled.
"Oh, speaking of you two - I heard Madam Dimitrescu told you she wanted a grandchild soon." Matias said as he looked back at his brother, whose face was bright red.
"As much as Mother-In-Law would want a grandchild, I told her that I was waiting on Bela to be ready - we shall have a child when Bela is ready, not a moment before then." Magnus said.
"Good to know you treasure your wife's decision, did she finish redecorating the Family House?" Matias asked.
"So far, she can't seem to choose what she wants to change or what rooms she wants to make into her private rooms. On a better note, the staff willingly let Bela fed off them if she gets hungry and I'm not around. How's your construction going?" Magnus asked.
"Almost done, Cass held me draw up the plans so I know she's going to love the place. It will be ready in a weak." Matias said.
The brothers looked at the clock and saw it was almost time for the bride to come. They finished up with their own preparations and headed down the courtyard.
The violinists that Magnus hired began playing the song as Cassandra walked down the aisle with a bouquet of black roses in her hands & a smile on her face with a gleam in her eyes.
Matias stood at the altar with Mother Miranda with a smile on his face as his future wife came up and they linked hands.
"You are so breathtaking, My Beloved." Matias said.
"Thank you, you're very handsome yourself."
Mother Miranda began her rites - blessing the young couple before her and everyone else with long life, eternal love & endless happiness before the 'I do's were said and the marital bond sealed with a kiss.
Everyone was so busy celebrating the newly married couple that they didn't notice a large cloaked figure walk to the table that held the gits and place a small envelope on the table.
The feast began and the presents were given, The Lord of Iron found the envelope and didn't remember it being there at first and gave it to the new couple.
Matias opened it and turned it upside down, a pair of shiny keys landed in the palm of his other hand.
"Are those house keys?" Cassandra asked.
"Yes, but they told us that the house wasn't going to be done for another week... did they lie so that it would be a surprise?" Matias questioned.
"Well, looks like you'll be living together sooner than expected." Magnus smiled as he placed his hand on his wife's hip to pull her closer.
"It would seem so." He looked to his wife, "Darling, what would you like to decorate the house with?" He asked.
[At The Wedding of Maximus & Daniela Dimitrescu]
Alcina already didn't approve of Maximus' relationship with her youngest daughter - but this proposal filled the Lady of the Castle with rage.
She knew that she wouldn't be able to stop her daughter from loving Maximus, but she could prevent the wedding from happening on her Castle Grounds.
Daniela was upset that her mother was against her marriage just because her lover wasn't as rich as her sisters, but he loved her and he was willing to be hurt if it meant she was going to be safe.
Maximus told her beloved that it didn't matter - he could make them a great wedding, all he needed to know was where she wanted it to happen and what she wanted for it.
Daniela wanted her wedding to overlook the ocean at sunset - the light would be perfect. Maximus would give her everything she wanted but there was only one thing he asked for.
"I don't want the Vilkas Lords at the wedding."
When questioned by his future sister in laws, he told them 'I have a bad history with that family and I don't want them at y special day."
The Elder of the Dimitrescu Daughters had nothing to say about that and agreed.
On the day of the wedding - The site was lovely and everyone came in attendance; even Alcina. She didn't want to come up she wanted her daughter to be happy.
The Dimitrescu Daughters were there without their husbands and they were crossed with it.
Maximus waited for the arrival of his fiancee and when she did arrive - it was by carriage...a very familiar carriage.
The door of the carriage opened and Daniela stepped out...but she wasn't the only ones.
The Lords of House Vilkas - Magnus & Matias - stepped out in suits and had uncertain expressions on their faces.
"You?!" Maximus glared at the men, "What are you two doing here? Why were you in a carriage with my fiancee?!" He roared at them.
"I was on my way here with Aunt Donna when they pulled up and asked me where the wedding was taking place, I didn't tell them and they rushed us in the carriage." Dani said as she walked over to Maximus and Donna was getting out of the carriage.
"You forced my fiancee into a carriage?! For what reason?!" The blacksmith growled.
"Please, I know you are upset but we just want to speak with you - I want to speak with you." Magnus said as he took a step forward.
"I told you that I wanted nothing to do with your family, Lord Vilkas!" Maximus said with a glare.
"Stop calling me that! I'm not Lord Vilkas right now, I'm your little brother!" Magnus shouted with sadness in his voice.
Everyone looked wide-eyed at that confess and all eyes looked at Maximus.
"You're the Eldest of the Vilkas Family?" Daniela asked as she looked at the man she loves.
"I share their DNA and nothing else." He glared at his brothers, "I am not a Vilkas., that was taken away from me the moment they were born."
"What is he talking about?" Bela asked her husband.
"We grew up thinking that we were the only children but when we found a birth record for a son that was older than us, we asked our parents about him." Magnus began.
"They told us that he was an accident, an unwanted child, a placeholder for the Vilkas Heirship until a true heir was born..." Matias said.
"Then the moment the twins were born, my father disowned me, beat me to a pulp, and tossed me into the snow during a blizzard with dagger - the insignia of the family I once had was scratched out. I begged them to let me back in, I cried that I didn't want to die, but they ignored me and I began to walk into the forest, looking for some kind of shelter." Maximus' eyes looked to the ground at the pain of the memory.
"Brother..." Magnus said but he didn't know what he could say to his older sibling. All the pain he's been through, all because he was planned.
"It wasn't our fault. It was father and mother's, they were the ones who did that horrible thing to you! They robbed you of your place as The Vilkas Family Head & they robbed us of an older brother. Please, Maximus...We need our brother." Matias said to him.
Maximus looked at the two of them before he told them to sit beside their wives so that they could begin the ceremony. They took their seats, Daniela and Maximus took their places and the rites were read, the 'I do's were said, and the kiss was sealed.
Alcina just sat there with a stunned look on her face - the one she wanted was related to the family she respected, what's more, he was the rightful head?
Maximus looked at his brother and wondered - could he really have a relationship with them after their births took away his life?

Burning Love - Part Three
a/n: the third and final part of this little series is here! I hope you enjoy! Feedback and reblogs are helpful! Support me here if you’re able! (not proofread)
Warnings: cocky!Harry flirting, a tiny bit of angst, fluff, and smut!
Words: 8K
Pairing: Harry x OC (kindergarten teacher Danielle Robinson)
Masterpost
Tumblr media
Having a firefighter as a boyfriend was anything but boring. Sometimes Harry was called away in the middle of the night for backup, sometimes he had to straight up sleep at the fire house if someone was on vacation, and sometimes he was cooking up a storm so the guys coming back from a fire had plenty to eat. Danielle would sometimes help cook as well. The guys really liked her turkey chili.
Danielle’s classroom knew who her boyfriend was too, and they loved it when Harry would come by for a visit. He’d bring them little coloring books, or sometimes he’d get Doodle to come for an even better surprise visit.
When they were together three months, Harry made sure no one was in the fire house so she could come to his office, and he gave her a little strip tease. She had practically been begging him to play the part of the sexy fire fighter and he was finally doing it for her. The only condition was that he got to bend her over his desk and fuck her. She even let him hit it raw, it was the greatest mutual gift in the world. Also hearing her moan out, “You’re hitting it so good, don’t stop, Harry!” over and over was pretty nice too.
Yup, things had been going pretty well for the new couple. Even though they were still in the puppy-love phase, it wasn’t all sex all the time. Harry would sometimes come over and help her late into the night as she was crafting activities for her class the next day, or he’d go to the art supply store with her because Danielle never made a list and she would often forget at least one thing she needed for class. Harry always remembered what she’d forget. Danielle was also a big help with the fire department’s fundraising efforts. She made the best hash browns anyone had ever had at the monthly pancake breakfasts. The deputy fire chief even got them a matching set of aprons. Things were going so well that she even started to let him call her Dani.
One Sunday afternoon they were walking through the grocery store together. Harry liked pushing the cart for Danielle as she mumbled to herself about what she needed for the week. She liked that he joined her because he could pick out the snacks he wanted to leave at her place, and vice versa. They were walking down the coffee aisle, Harry liked Hazelnut and Danielle liked French Vanilla.
“Dani?”
Danielle looks over in the direction of the deep voice that said her name. Her eyes widen when she realizes it’s her ex, Oliver.
“O-Oliver?”
“Oh my god, it’s so good to see you!” He exclaims, throwing his arms around her. She doesn’t reciprocate. “It’s been what, three years?”
“Something like that.” She swallows, and hooks her arm around Harry’s waist. “This is my boyfriend, Harry.”
“Hi.” Oliver shakes Harry’s hand. “You shop here a lot?”
“Yeah…this is the grocery store closest to my apartment, why?”
“This is my first time as this specific store. My fiancé lives in the area, and we’re choosing to buy a house here so her son won’t have to switch elementary schools.”
“Her…her son?” Danielle wanted to smack him.
“Yeah, guess he’s like my son now too.”
“Olly? Did you find the decaf tea?” A woman long blond hair, and a slightly swollen belly comes rolling her cart down the aisle with a little boy sitting in it. “Oh…Danielle…hi.”
“Hi, Rory.”
“Miss Robinson!” The boy exclaims.
“Hello, Joey.” She tries to say with a smile. Danielle wasn’t sure how she could have been so stupid. Joey took the bus to and from school, and she had only ever spoken with his father. She also didn’t make a second glance at his mother’s name on his contact list since it was under Lorelei.
“Joey raves about you all the time.” Rory says, trying to cut some of the tension.
“Mumma, it’s Chief Harry!”
“Aw, nice of you to remember me, buddy.” Harry says. “Um, we’ve got frozen stuff in the cart, so we should probably get going, right, darling?” He says, looking at Danielle, and she feels thankful for him finding a way out of all this.
“He’s right, we should really get going.”
“Guess we’ll be seeing more of each other, huh, Dani?” Oliver says with a soft smile.
“So it would seem.” She looks at Joey. “See you tomorrow morning in class, Joey.”
Harry pushes the cart as they walk away. She was beyond mortified. They get in line and pay for their things. She had driven there, but she has Harry drive back to her place. She was quiet until they got inside her apartment to put the food away.
“He, uh, seemed a little delusional there, no?” Harry says.
“He’s always lived with his head in the sand.” She scoffs. “Rose colored glasses, you know?”
“Did you not know that-“
“No, I didn’t realize that Rory, the person he cheated on me with, had a son. I knew that she was a married woman. They got divorced because of Oliver.” She shakes her head. “Joey’s father is such a sweet man, I can’t believe I never put the pieces together.”
“How exactly did they meet?”
“The first school I worked at was a K-5 a few towns over. Rory was the principal’s secretary, she still is, I think. I brought Oliver with me to a holiday party, and they got to talking. She’s a couple of years older than he and I are. I don’t exactly know how things progressed from there, but apparently she’s pregnant with his kid, they’re engaged, and they’ve bought a house! Isn’t that just kick you in the crotch, spit on your neck fantastic?”
“Remind me to never watch Friends reruns with you again.” He chuckles.  “I can’t believe he had the nerve to hug you like that?”
“He hugged me like that because he’s still in love with me.”
“What do you mean?”
“Until I blocked him on literally every platform that I could, he would send me these messages about how he fucked up and that he’d do anything to win me back. He’s in a loveless relationship. He’s made his bed and now he has to lay in it.”
“Does Rory know it’s a loveless relationship?”
“I doubt it. If I had to guess they probably got engaged after they found out she was pregnant. It was probably her way of trapping him.” Danielle rolls her eyes. “You know what they say, once a cheater, always a cheater.”
“Well,” he comes around her to hold her from behind, kissing her cheek, “you don’t have to worry about that or pay it any more thoughts, alright?”
“Yeah.” She smiles and turns to kiss him. “I just hope I don’t start running into them all the time now.”
“We could always go to the market near my place, or we could do the online order thing.” He shrugs. “Whatever you wanna do. I just don’t want that idiot making my baby upset.” He pouts at her and she pouts back.
“I love that I get to be your baby.” She sighs as she nuzzles into his chest.
“Me too…I…I love you, Dani.” He kisses her forehead before she looks up at him.
“You do?”
“Mhm.” He smiles. “Guess there’s no perfect time to really say it, but that’s how I feel.”
“Oh, Harry, I love you too.” She kisses him, and blinks some tears away. “Like, a lot.”
“Let’s get these groceries put away, hm? Then I’ll fuck you on the counter. Would you like that, sweetheart?”
“I would, very much so.” She chuckles.
//
It was the last day of school, so Danielle had both of her groups in the morning. There was a small ceremony for the kindergarteners to commemorate them being able to move on to the first grade. They each got a personalized certificate with some type of achievement they earned in Miss Robinson’s class. She spent two weeks working on them. Once it was over, Danielle had to clean up her classroom for the summer.
“Happy last day of school, babe.” Harry says as he walks in, holding a small bouquet of flowers.
“I think you should ask for a separate office here with how often you come to visit.” She jokes as she takes the flowers. “Not that I’m upset, but what are these for?” She smiles.
“You made it through another year with a group of five-year-olds, thought you should have something nice for it.”
“Well, that’s very thoughtful, thank you.” She kisses his cheek. “I’m just finishing up here and then we can grab lunch.”
Harry nods as he waits for her, helping her take a few boxes out to her car. He thought she looked gorgeous today in her light blue sundress. They enjoy their lunch together before Harry has to go back to work.
“Wanna come to my place tonight?” She asks before they part ways.
“Sure.” He pecks her lips. “Want me to bring dinner?”
“No, I can cook. I’ve got stuff to make a taco salad.”
“Okay, I’ll see you later.” They kiss again and off they go.
Things had gotten quite domestic with one another, and Harry was really starting to like it. He also really liked that she was about to be off for the entire summer. Sure, Harry had bonfires, lawn mowers, grills, and other things of that nature to worry about, but his group of volunteer fire fighters would be coming on once again, so it freed up a little more time for himself. He’d be able to take a vacation with Danielle if she wanted. Or he could just take a ton of long weekends so he could spend some time with her. He wasn’t exactly sure what she did over the summer, but he figures they’ll talk about it soon.
When Harry gets to her apartment later that night, he realizes soon means tonight. Danielle was running around her apartment in a tank top and shorts boxing things up and packing.
“Hey, uh, what are you doing?” He says, startling her.
“Oh! I didn’t even hear you come in!” She gasps and clutches at her chest. “Sorry, I’m just trying to get my shit together. I always save this stuff for the last minute.”
“Are you moving?” He asks, almost frantic.
“What? No.” She chuckles. “But I do need a lot of my things with me for when I go up to Seabrook.”
“Seabrook?”
“To my parents’ summer house. I told you they had one, they’re snowbirds, remember?”
“Yeah, you mentioned that…” He swallows. “Are you going for a long weekend?”
“No, I’m going for the majority of the summer. I was actually sort of hoping you’d be able to water some of my plants, but if you can’t I can ask the neighbor again.” She goes over to him and gives him a kiss. “Come on, I set dinner up in the kitchen for us.”
They both go into the kitchen and sit down with their taco salads.
“You’re sort of blindsiding me a bit, babe. I mean, you’ve known you were going to New Hampshire all this time and didn’t think to tell me?”
“I figured I’d come back on weekends.” She shrugs. “You’re going to be working all day, so I figured you wouldn’t really mind if I wasn’t around as much.” She takes a bite of her food. “I also thought maybe you could come up and visit…you know, meet my family.”
“It’s gonna be torturing not being able to come over and see you after work.” He pouts. “But of course I’d love to meet your family.”
“I know…that’s sort of why I was keeping it to myself. I’ll miss you just the same, I hope you know that. This is just really precious family time that I wait all year for.”
“I get it.” He sighs. “What weekend would you want me to come meet them?”
“I’ll have to ask my parents what weekend would work best for them. The first couple of weeks are spent catching up with their friends, and whatnot. The house is in a fifty-five and over community.”
“And you won’t mind driving back on weekends?”
“Not at all.” She shakes her head. “All of the traffic will be going the other way, and the beaches are always so crowded on the weekends. It’ll be perfect.” She smiles at him and leans in a bit. “Plus, I’ll be coming back to you with sun kissed skin. I’ll have lots of tan lines to show you.” She winks and it makes him chuckle.
“Alright, alright. I get to use more time off in the summer, so I’ll be able to take lots of long weekends. We have more of a crew because a lot of our volunteers are teachers, so they have more time to help out.”
“That’s good! I’m so happy the school year is over with. Did you see I put the flowers you got me in a vase?” She points over to the vase in her kitchen window.
“I did.” He nods, a smile growing on his lips. “M’glad you liked them.”
“I loved them.” She kisses his cheek. “You’re so sweet to me, Harry.”
“You’ve turned me into a total mush ball.” He sighs. “But I suppose that’s not a bad thing.”
“You were a mush ball the second you walked into my classroom for the first time.” She smirks.
“And you were a flustered little thing.” He smirks as her face falls. “Ah, she can dish it out, but she can’t take it.” He kisses her temple and takes their now empty plates to the sink. “When are you heading up?”
“A couple of days.” She sighs. “I hate packing so much, it’s the worst.” She groans. “I just keep telling myself I’ll be relaxing on a screened in porch soaking in the ocean breeze with a book in my hand before I know it.” She flops down onto her sofa and Harry sits next to her, rubbing her back. “At least I’ll see my niece and nephew soon too. I love getting to spend so much time with them.”
“Tell me about them, I wanna know as much about your family as I can before I meet them.”
“Really?” She sits up to look at them.
“Mhm.” He puts a pillow on his lap. “Come lay one me. I’ll play with your hair while you talk.”
“If I didn’t love you before.” She giggles, and rests her head in his lap. He starts scratching at her scalp and she sighs. “Okay, so, my dad…”
They both fell asleep on the couch that night talking. Harry told Danielle a lot about his family as well. In the wee hours of the morning, Harry carried her to the bed, and they both snuggled up while they got a few more hours of sleep.
//
“Danielle, it’s the middle of the night! Where are you going?!” Her brother Clark asks her in a panic. “Shit, are you crying?”
“I…I just got a call.” She sniffles as she throws her hoody on. “I have to get home.”
“Why, what’s happening.”
“H-Harry’s deputy chief called me…there was a really big fire a few hours ago, and a wall collapsed on him, and now he’s in the hospital.” Tears were streaming down her cheeks. “I have to get home to him, Clark, I need to be there when he wakes up.”
“You’re in no condition to drive, especially not for two hours. I’ll go with you. Let me just go to Isabelle.”
“You don’t have to do that, I’m fine.” She wipes her eyes. “I’ll let you know when I get there. I’ll be back in a few days, I’m sure of it.”
She rushes out of the house and gets into the car. She had the radio practically silent, and she was sucking down an iced coffee. Caffeine put her anxiety into hyper drive, but she needed to stay awake somehow. Harry wasn’t even supposed to be at that fire. He got called in as backup, but he wasn’t supposed to go inside. He went in looking for the family’s new puppy.
Once she gets to the hospital, probably looking like a mad woman in her pajama pants and oversized hoody, she checks in and asks where Harry’s being kept.
“Please, I’m his girlfriend, I need to-“
“Dani!” The deputy chief, Ralph, comes rushing towards her. “He just woke up, come with me.” He yanks her by the wrist before the nurse at the desk can say anything.
“Is he okay?”
“He will be.” Ralph nods. “Here we are, go ahead in. Take your time with him.” Ralph smiles, and Danielle returns it.
“Harry?” She says just above a whisper.
“Hey, baby.” He gives her a soft smile. “What are you doing here?”
“I hopped in my car a second after Ralph called me. I was so worried.” She sits on the edge of his hospital bed.
“I’m okay, sweetheart, just a few scrapes and bruises.”
“Harry…your arm’s in a sling.”
“Just a sprained wrist, it’ll heal up real soon.”
“How can you be so calm about this?” She asks as she curls up next to him. He throws his arm around her and sighs.
“Because if I let every little accident scare me, I wouldn’t be able to do my job properly. This is what I signed up for, babe.”
“Did you at least find the puppy?”
“I did, shielded the poor thing from the wall that collapsed on me. M’gonna have to go on light duty for a while.”
“Which means what exactly?”
“Lots of administrative work…that I can do remotely. So, I was thinking…maybe I could come up to Seabrook with you for a little longer than a weekend.”
“I’d love that! We can drive back up together. Everyone’s excited to meet you.”
“I’m excited to meet them too.”
//
After Harry rested up for a few days at home, with Danielle doting on him even though he told her she didn’t need to, the two drive up north together.
“Auntie Dani’s back!” Sarah exclaims as she bursts out of the porch.
“Sarah!” Isabelle yells after her. “We don’t run out of the house, no matter how excited we are to see Auntie.” She picks her daughter up. “Sorry, Dani.” Isabelle chuckles.
“No worries.” Danielle laughs. “This is my boyfriend, Harry. Harry, this is my sister-in-law Isabelle.”
“Hi.” Harry says, and Isabelle gasps when she sees his arm in a sling. “Just a sprained wrist, m’fine.” “It’s nice to meet you. This must be Sarah, yeah?”
“Hello.” The little girl smiles.
“Come on, everyone’s inside getting ready to head down to the beach.” Isabelle says.
Harry and Danielle follow inside. She takes him into the kitchen where her parents, Robert and Donna were finishing up their coffee.
“Dani!” Donna smiles. “How was the ride back up?”
“Fine, not a lot of traffic once we were out of the city.” She smiles. “This is Harry.”
“The hero that saved the puppy!” Robert says.
“I’m no hero, just did my job. It’s nice to meet you both. Thank you for inviting me to your home.” He shakes both of their hands.
“Are you kidding? We were over the moon when Dani said she’d be bringing a boyfriend with her.” Donna says. “Honey, why don’t you help Harry get settled and then meet us down at the beach?”
“Okay.” Danielle nods.
The two bring their things inside while everyone else makes their way to the beach. Danielle helps Harry put his clothes away in the dresser.
“So…are we alone right now?” Harry asks casually after putting his things away in the bathroom.
“Um, yeah. Everyone went down to set up at the beach, why?”
“Well…” He sits down on the bed and tugs her to sit on his lap, straddling her. “I haven’t been able to do much the last few days, and I’d like to make up for it.”
“Harry.” Her face flushes. “I can’t just fuck you here.”
“In the privacy of a bedroom? Here I was thinking this would be the perfect place.” He rolls his eyes.
“I just…” She bites her bottom lip. Before she can say anything when she opens her mouth again, he’s kissing her. “Fuck, okay, but we have to be quick. And no leaving marks, I don’t need to feel like a teenager at the age of twenty-seven.”
“How about no marks in any visible places?”
“Harry, I’m gonna be wearing a two piece, a lot is going to be visible.”
“Your ass?”
She whimpers softly and kisses him again. They both fall back on the bed, careful not to hurt his wrist. Danielle ended up riding his dick since he couldn’t really prop himself up with hands at the moment, but neither of them minded. It was a much-needed release for the both of them. Once they’re both cleaned up, they change into their bathing suits and go down to the beach to join her family.
“Auntie Dani, do you wanna dig a moat with me?” Ryan asks her the second she sets her things down.
“Sure! Just let me get some sunscreen on, okay?”
“You’re already looking a little red.” Clark remarks, and she glares at him. “Nice to meet you, Harry.”
“Same to you.” Harry says as he sits down in his beach chair.
Danielle peels her coverup off, and lathers up in sunscreen before grabbing a sand toy to help Ryan dig a moat. Isabelle was down by the water with Sarah.
“Harry, do you like seafood?” Donna asks him.
“I do.” He nods.
“Wonderful, I thought it would be nice to go out to eat since you’re here with us now. Celebrate having a full house and whatnot.”
“Oh, well…that sounds nice, thanks.” Harry smiles at her.
“I hope you won’t be too miserable working from inside the house…there’s no central air or anything.” Robert says.
“Oh, it’s not a problem. Heat doesn’t exactly bother me.” He smirks, and Danielle flicks some sand at him. “Oi, what was that for?!”
“No fire fighter jokes or puns.” She points a finger at him warningly. “We’re on vacation.”
“Come on, that was a good one, admit it.”
“I will do no such thing.” She looks at her parents who were chuckling at the exchange. “Don’t encourage him, it’ll only make it worse.”
“Anyways,” he side eyes her and then looks back at her parents, “I’ll probably just set up on the porch when I need to hop onto email. My deputy chief is taking on a bit more for me for the next couple of weeks.”
Harry never really saw himself being a dad someday, but as the day went on, and he watched Danielle interact with Sarah and Ryan, he suddenly understood why women would get baby fever seeing a man hold a baby. He may have only been with Danielle for five months, but fuck…he wanted to be the father of her kids. Yes, he got to spend an entire week with her and her classroom, but it’s not like he got to witness her loving on any of the kids. The way she cradled four-year-old Sarah to her chest as she napped, or splashed around in the water with Ryan, well, if he had ovaries they’d be bursting.
Seeing her help them at dinner was just as cute too. Sarah insisted that her booster chair be places next to Danielle, and Danielle ended up helping cut up Sarah’s chicken fingers. Then Harry got to witness Danielle tucking Sarah and Ryan in for the night to give Clark and Isabelle a break.
The two decide to turn in a bit early since it had been a long day. Danielle was sitting up in bed reading her romance novel. Harry was reading the same one. They had formed a little book club with another once they found out they liked the same genre of fiction.
“Dani?” He says to her.
“Hm?” She says without looking at him.
“Do you think you wanna have kids of your own one day? Or are your kindergartners enough kids for you?”
She immediately closes her book and looks at him. She was a little shocked.
“I…I always thought if I met the right person then I’d want to have kids. Like, turning that love into something physical, you know? What’s got you asking me about kids all of a sudden?”
“In all honesty…watching you with Ryan and Sarah today sort of sparked my interest. You’re so good with them in so many different ways. I…I mean I never really thought twice about having kids, but if you and I decide this is a long term thing…I’d love to be the person you have kids with.”
“Thought you didn’t like playing the what if game.” She leans in and pecks his lips.
“I don’t.”
“Okay, so, it’s not an if with us, Harry, it’s a when.”
He smiles and kisses her tenderly.
“You’re the love of my life, you know that?” He says against her lips before kissing her again.
//
The school year was just about to start again. Classes would begin just after Labor Day. How were Harry and Danielle spending their long weekend? Well, she was currently bouncing up and down on his dick reverse-cowgirl on her couch while he sucked a nasty bruise into her neck, rubbing her clit with one hand, and kneading one of her breasts with the other. She felt like she was drooling from how good everything felt. The two of them had both tanned nicely over the summer, and now they Danielle was fully back in her apartment, Harry was taking full advantage.
“Fuck, fuck!” She pants. Harry was thrusting up into her, pounding against her g-spot.
It was how she liked it, she didn’t care if she was sore later, and he was happy to give it to her like this. She turns her head slightly and she licks into his mouth to suck on his tongue. He replaces his tongue in her mouth with two of his fingers, which she was happy to suck on while his fingers continued to work her clit. They had been together for a while now, and sometimes when you were a little older, time didn’t make much of a difference when you were trying to check off certain boxes with the person you loved most. So, Harry just blurts out what he’s thinking.
“I think we should move in together.” He grunts, and she gasps around his fingers.
“Wh-what?” She says, whining because she’s so very close. This wasn’t the type of talk she enjoyed during sex. “Harry, please, I’m almost there, can we talk about this after?” She tugs at his hair, making him groan.
He grips her hips, helping her rock faster on him, and she goes to rub her own clit. He was fucking so hard and deep that she thought her spine was going to crack in half, but she didn’t fucking care. She wanted it. He hits it just right again, and her eyes roll into the back of her head as her back arches, her body molding into his as she rides it out. His come shoots up inside her a moment after, and he presses his lips to her temple. She tries to move off him, but he wraps his arms around her tummy to keep here there.
“Can we talk now?” He breathes, his breath hot on the shell of her ear and she whimpers. “I really think we should live together.”
“And whose place do you want to live at, hm? We’re both pack rats, Har. We both need home offices, we both-“
“Just answer the question: do you want to live together?”
“Yes.” She looks over her shoulder at him. “I do.”
“Okay, then.” He smiles and gently lifts her off of him. “Right when we started dating, I got pre-approved for a home loan.” He wraps her up in the blanket she has on the couch and carries her into the bedroom so they can both lay down before cleaning themselves up. “I put the house hunting on hold, obviously…I’d need to get pre-approved again since the three-month window they gave me lapsed, but…I can afford a pretty decent house.” He smiles fondly at Danielle. She had that after sex glow to her, and it always made him melt.
“You…you can afford a house?”
“I can.” He nods. “Been saving up for a while. I was sort of hoping…well…we could look at houses together. I could buy it, and then we could split the mortgage payments, or I could just pay the mortgage and you could take care of the utilities and other bills. Whatever makes more sense.” He shrugs. She blinks a few times and then licks her lips.
“I just…wow, I can’t believe you wanna do something so huge with me. Buying a house with someone is a pretty big deal.”
“I feel like it makes more sense to buy the house first, and then save back up for a wedding later, but that’s just me.” He gives her a smug look and her eyes widen. “I think that’s why the divorce rate is too high, not enough people live together before they get married.” A grin starts to form on her lips. “Don’t look at me like that, we’ve talked about long-term stuff before.”
“We’ve talked about hypothetical babies, not buying a house. Do you already have a realtor?”
“No, and we don’t really need one. We can just look up the houses we wanna see and contact the realtor that’s selling the home. A friend of mine did that and they said it was a way better experience.”
“I can’t believe this.” She shakes her and then giggles, throwing her arms around his neck. “You wanna be us a house! I wish I could help with the down payment, but my student loans have prevented me from putting a lot into my savings…”
“It’s no problem. You’re able to afford this place on your own, so I figured you’d be able to help with bills and stuff.”
“I definitely will be able to.” She kisses his cheek. “Let’s go take a shower and then we can start looking on realtor.”
“Eager.” He smirks as she tugs him up from the bed.
“Now’s the time to buy! All of the snowbirds who are looking to make the big plunge to warm weather full time will be looking to get rid of their houses, and with the school year starting we don’t really have to worry about competing with families. It’s perfect, Harry!”
It was, it really was.
//
By the beginning of October, the two were moved into a stunning home with four bedrooms, and four baths. They got just about everything on their wish list, and anything they didn’t, Harry said he could make happen. Danielle was able to pass out candy for Halloween to the kids in the neighborhood, which delighted her to no end because a few of her new and previous students stopped by. And when it came time for Thanksgiving, even though they weren’t full unpacked, Danielle was able to host a fabulous dinner for her family.
It wasn’t always perfect, they disagreed on paint colors, furniture, curtains, and rugs. They usually found some way to compromise, though. Sometimes Danielle had trouble checking her attitude at the door. There was one evening she got home a little later than usual, so Harry got dinner started. A nice gesture on his part, which she thanked him for. However, when it came time to clean up, she wouldn’t stop huffing while she loaded the dishwasher.
“Alright, what’s wrong?” He finally asks. “Why are you reorganizing everything?”
“Because you never put anything in here right.” She snaps. “Bowls and cups go on the top rack. Look at this! You put one of the little plates up here, how the fuck is that supposed to get cleaned properly?” She says as she moves the small plate to the bottom rack. “You also don’t load the silverware correctly. Did you want me to stab myself?! I’m usually the one that has to unload it.” She huffs again after throwing a pod in and turning the dishwasher on. She crosses her arms and looks at him. “I’m your girlfriend, not your mother.”
“I never said you were.” He crosses his arms as well, astonished at her tone.
“Yeah? So, did you think that your dirty socks and underwear just magically picked themselves up and put themselves into your hamper? Did you think that the bed magically gets made? Did you think that the broom and dustpan do a little fucking dance and that’s how the shmutz on the floor gets cleaned up?!”
“You’re making it seem like I don’t do anything to help out around here. I’m the one that rakes the leaves and mows the lawn, I’m the one that has to stop what I’m doing to come kill a bug every time you yelp, I’m the one that takes care of all the trash in the house-“
“Only when I say something about it overflowing. I have to tell you to do everything!”
“Look, I’m sorry I don’t load the dishwasher in the way that you’d prefer, but the dishes get clean, so-“
“No, they don’t. I either have to run it again, or I wash the stuff by hand. We’re gonna have kids someday, Harry, I don’t want them picking up on your bad habits.”
“My bad habits?!” Okay, now he was getting angry. “I have to ask you to clean your hair out of the shower drain. In fact, your hair is fucking everywhere! You never wipe off the mirror after you pop a pimple, which you know you shouldn’t be doing anyway.” He rolls his eyes. Her face falls into a deep frown. “Not so much fun when someone’s pointing out your flaws, is it?”
“Fuck off.” She turns on her heel and makes her way out of the kitchen.
“Oh, so that’s how it’s going to be. You’re going to start an argument with me, but you’re not going to finish it?” He says as he follows her out to the staircase.
“You asked me what was wrong, and I told you.” She states.
“Yeah, but you didn’t have to be such a bitch about it.” Her eyes widen with anger at that, and her nails press into her palms. She starts stomping her way upstairs. “Dani.” He sighs. “Shit, I didn’t mean to say that.” He follows her up the stairs.
“But you did.” She goes into the bedroom and almost shuts the door in his face, but he catches it, making his way in. “You men are all the same, you know that? Any time a woman calls you out on some crap, she’s a bitch.”
“You got upset over something as insignificant as loading a dishwasher. You know we’re lucky to even have one? There are people who don’t have the luxury.”
“Yeah, I know! And I’d probably be the one to always be washing the dishes.”
“If it bothered you that much, then why didn’t you say something to me before?”
“Because I didn’t want to come off as naggy! I don’t want to be one of those women that’s always telling their partner what to do and how to do it, but holy fuck, who actually raised you?! I mean, some of the things you do, I just don’t understand.” She shakes her head.
“We were obviously raised differently.” He sighs. “You know if you just told me-“
“But I don’t want to have to tell you! I don’t want to have to ask because I shouldn’t have to.”
“I’m not a mind reader, Dani!”
“I’m not asking you to be! But when the sink is full of dishes, do you think you could take care of it without me having to mention it? Do you think that when the trash is full you could just bag it up and take it and put a new bag in? I can’t tell you how many times I’ve accidentally thrown something out without a bag being in the barrel. It drives me bananas!”
“Okay, I’ll…I’ll try to be better about those things. I don’t want you to feel like you’re having to pick up after me.” He runs a hand through his hair.
“And…I’ll try to not just explode on you when something’s been bothering me.” She sits on the bed and lays back. “Ugh, I just had a long day. Kids are starting to get colds, and the meeting I had after school just wouldn’t end, I’m supposed to get my period in a couple of days so I feel bloated and gross.” Harry sits down next to her and rubs her thigh. He looks down at her with a soft smile. “Listen to me.” She sighs. “Here I am complaining about stupid things when you literally put your life at risk every time you go to work.”
“Don’t compare us, babe. You’re allowed to feel annoyed and stressed.”
“How do you always stay so calm?” She tugs him down to lay with her.
“I don’t know. It’s hard to stay upset when I have such a cute girlfriend.” He kisses her cheek and she giggles.
“I’m sorry I got so mad.”
“It’s okay, baby.” He kisses her cheek again. “We’re bound to have an argument once in a while. The most important thing is that we always make up afterwards.”  He starts kissing on her neck and she bites her bottom lip.
“Harry, I just told you that I feel bloated and gross, and-“
“So, let me make you feel not gross.” He says as he moves on top of her. “Let me love on you, darling, it’ll help you destress.” He moves her up the bed until he’s situated between her legs. He undoes her pants and drags them down her legs. “Are you wearing boxer-briefs?” He questions.
“Y-yeah? I started buying them a little while ago. They’re more comfortable, and they breathe better. Plus, no panty lines.”
“How did I not notice this?” He blinks.
“Because I usually change when I get home into something a little sexier.” She chuckles.
“Actually…” He tugs on the band and lets it snap back against her skin. “You look pretty sexy in these.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
He tugs them off of her and kisses on her tummy. He parts he legs and licks around her folds. She sighs and lets her body rest into the mattress.
“I really feel like I don’t deserve this since I was so nasty to you.” She says as she cards her finger through his hair.
“You can make it up to me by letting me fuck your mouth afterwards. Seems like you could use a break from running it, hm?” He sucks on her clit, making her groan, and she nods.
“Yeah, seems fair to me.” She gasps as he licks into her warm center, and uses his thumb on her clit. “Would you make me come a few times, though, at least?”
Her gives her a devilish smirk, which she takes as a yes while he continues to work his tongue in and out of her. He gave her four orgasms before crawling up her body and stuffing his throbbing down her throat. Feeling her nails dig into his hips as he thrusted in and out of her was everything he needed. They didn’t do stuff like this often. He didn’t want to be one of those couples where certain types of sex or positions were used as punishments. But he knew Danielle genuinely enjoyed feeling a little bit of pain, not that they’d ever talked about it. He didn’t want to embarrass her by bringing up one of her very obvious kinks. Whenever he did fuck her throat, though, she always moaned around him, and she’d end up drenched between her legs all over again, so he knew she enjoyed it. He also made sure to love on her right afterwards, praising her, telling her how good she did for him, and he’d get a glass of water for her to sip on while he cleaned her up. They had good, healthy relationship in many aspects. He loved her, he really fucking loved her, and he never wanted to be without her.
“Dani, fuck, I love you, I love you so much, shit!” He cries out as he comes down her throat. He pulls away from her carefully and she smiles up at him after swallowing. He wipes a few stray tears away from her cheek.
“I love you too.” She says, voice hoarse, but still there.
“Do you feel like taking a bath tonight? I could rub your shoulders for you.”
“I’d like that, yeah, thanks.”

A couple of months later, and it was fire safety week once again. They made it through their first holiday season together, and his thirty-third birthday. Now they had been together an entire year, owned a home together, and were looking into potentially getting a dog. Harry had told her all about the senior dogs at the shelter, and Danielle sort of liked the idea of not having to train a puppy, even if they were undeniably cute.
All of the kids in both of Danielle’s groups knew that Chief Styles was Miss Robinson’s very special friend because she had a picture of the two of them on her desk, and one of him as her desktop wallpaper. It was no surprise that some of the kids teased them a bit, and asked some personal questions, but other than that the week was going well as it usually did. When Friday rolled around, it was time for the kids to put on their performance for the fire department. It was an assembly all of the grades came to, along with the other teachers. Once the four songs, and a skit, are over, Harry goes up to give his thanks just as he did last year.
“Thank you all so much for another fantastic week. Fire safety is extremely important to learn at a young age. I know we had a lot of fun together, but remember, when you’re missing Chief Styles, don’t call 911 to talk to him. Have your parent or guardian come down to the fire house, and we can say hello there, alright?” That was usually where the assembly would end, but today things were going to go a little differently. “If I could have all of the kids back up on stage for a moment? Parents, I promise this won’t take more than a couple of minutes.”
Danielle was visibly confused because she hadn’t planned anything else with the students, and Harry hadn’t mentioned adding anything special today. So, she sat in her seat in the front row and watched. She leaned over next to one of her colleagues.
“Do you know what’s going on?” She asks.
“Just watch, Dani.” Her colleague says, and Danielle sits up straight in her seat again.
All of the kids were holding a piece of paper in their hands. It was facing blank towards the audience. Some of them were giggling as Harry and the other fire fighters placed them in certain spots. Ralph gives Harry a thumbs up, and he starts speaking into the microphone again.
“Not a lot of people know this, or maybe they do, I don’t really know, but last year was my first year getting to host fire safety week with the lovely Miss Robinson, and over this last year she’s managed to steal my heart, giving me the great privilege of calling her my girlfriend.” The kids behind him snicker and giggle. “You said you’d all be cool, come on.” He looks over at Danielle, who still really had no idea what the fuck was going on. “Miss Robinson, could you come here for a moment?”
She nods, and gets up slowly, walking over to him. He takes one of his hands in hers.
“What are you doing?” She whispers.
“You’ll see.” He winks. “Miss Robinson has taught her kids how to spell lots of interesting words already this year. She teaches them how to sound things out, and all that good stuff. I had a chance to teach them something this week and they’ve been dying to show you.” He tugs her to the side so the whole audience will be able to see. “Alright, kids, flip your papers over to show Miss Robinson.”
She gasps when she sees it, cupping a hand over her mouth as her eyes start to well up. All of the papers spelled out: M I S S – R O B I N S O N – W I L L – Y O U – M A R R Y – M E ? She looks at Harry, who was now down on one knee, holding up a gorgeous ring in a little black, velvet box.
“It says, Miss Robinson, will you marry me?” He says to her with a beaming smile.
“I can see that.” She says, wiping some tears from her cheeks.
“Will you?”
“Yes! Oh my god, yes.” Everyone in the room cheers as Harry slips the ring on her finger. He stands up, and kisses her, not to vulgarly because there were kids around, but enough to show how happy he was that she said yes. “When did you have the time to plan all of this with them?”
“Got their parents’ emails from one of the other teachers.” He smirks. “Are you surprised?”
“I’m shocked!” She turns to her students. “You all kept such a big secret from me!” They crowd around her to hug her as she opens her arms for them.
A ton of the teachers, parents, and fire fighters all come up to the congratulate the pair. Once all of the fuss is over, and the cafeteria is cleared, Harry and Danielle go back to her classroom so she can pack up her things for the day.
“Do you like the ring?” He asks nervously.
“Are you kidding, I love it! It’s so beautiful, baby.” She pecks his lips. “I can’t wait to call my parents, I’m buzzing! Think of how cute Sarah’s going to be as a flower girl. Oh, and they’ll start calling you Uncle Harry, how sweet!”
“Gonna have to let Ryan be a groomsman, or I think he’ll try to kill me.” Harry chuckles. “He’s quite protective over his Auntie Dani.”
“And don’t you forget it.” She presses her finger to his chest. He leans in and kisses her tenderly. Normally, Danielle didn’t like getting so lovey dovey in her classroom, but she figured she had a good excuse in case anyone walked in. “I still can’t believe you planned all of that and pulled it off. Those kids usually can’t keep a secret.”
“I promised them all a ride in one of the fire trucks if they kept their mouths shut.”
“Damn, that was really smart.” She chuckles.
“I’d say so.” He smirks. “Do you feel like going out to eat tonight to celebrate? Ralph and his husband were hoping to treat us.”
“Sure.” She nods. “I’ll just need to cancel my yoga classes really quick.”
“You can still teach your classes if you want. I can just tell him we won’t be ready until later.”
“No, see, I wanna go home, and stay there for a bit.” She tugs on the suspenders that were keeping his fire pants up. “I’d like to celebrate with you privately first, Chief Styles.” She takes his hat off and puts it on her own head before catching his bottom lip between her teeth and sucking on it. He groans into the kiss, and she lets his lip snap back. He had inadvertently put her into one of her ‘Chief Styles/Miss Robinson’ moods, which he wasn’t upset about in the least. “How’s that sound?”
“Well, Miss Robinson, I’d say it sounds like you’re trying to seduce me.” He smirks, and she rolls her eyes. It was her least favorite joke.
“I can’t wait to be Danielle Robinson Styles so that you can’t make that stupid fucking joke anymore. I’m not a forty-year-old woman seducing a recent college grad!” His face softens immensely. “What?”
“Nothing.” He puts his hands on her hips and gives her a squeeze. “I just…I didn’t think you’d want to change your name, is all.”
“Harry, I’d be proud to be called Mrs. Styles. Think of how cute it’ll be after we get married and I have a new class, and then when you come in for fire safety week, I’ll be able to say my husband, Chief Styles.” She pouts at him.
“Alright, it’s time we get you home before my stiffy pops through my pants.”
She giggles as she grabs her bag, and they both rush out of her classroom, and out to the car. They held hands the while way home, not wanting to be apart from one another’s touch for even a second.

a bird on the wire drabble | #59. “How do I put up with you?”
This one is for @aenarsnow who sent me an “OR” ask and I already wrote one for when the sun sets in the east but I couldn’t help myself and did a flangst one for bird on the wire!  Someone check my temperature, I’m in an angst-writing mood lately.  🤣🤭👀
They were married once before in the Winterfell godswood, but this was different.  This was something of a…renewal.  With the family.  The Entire Family, in all CAPS because that’s what she thought of them as.  It was The Entire Family, complete with Kingsguard and all the assorted accoutrements.  She had simply asked them to make their footprint as quiet as possible.
It had been Jon’s idea, one which she had thought was lovely.  A vow renewal, for her family to attend.  A few years in the making, their little Aly could participate, carrying a sprig of flowers in her small hands, trotting down the aisle.  A white dress made specifically for her, a lovely filmy creation from her favorite designer Ellaria Sand, her back exposed with small cap sleeves and embroidered vines throughout it.
She stood in the window of their rented house, one of Drogo’s, which he’d lent them for the few weeks they had decided to stay before and after the wedding.  The breeze coming off the Shivering Sea was cool, the home in the far North of Essos, on the very northern edge of the Dothraki Sea.  It was secluded, the nearest city almost four hours away.  They would not need to worry about paparazzi or other press crashing in on the event.  The Kingsguard, per her request, were as far away as they dared to be.
It was lovely this morning, she thought, holding her cup of coffee in her palms, watching the waves roll lazily along the sand.  In the distance she could see her mother walking with Aly, both of them kneeling every so often and picking up a shell, placing it in Aly’s bucket.  Her daughter would be four soon; where did the time bloody go?
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw movement, and caught sight of Viserys rocking out on the veranda, seated like a strange black bird on the stone wall, one arm around his knees, which were almost in his face, sucking on a cigarette, his silver hair in a knot on his head.  He’d been good; he tended to do better in Essos than he did in Westeros.  Rhae was with him, sitting on the opposite side—normally—with a cup of coffee and a cigarette himself.
Don’t let the public know you have a vice Rhae, she thought, shaking her head and rolling her eyes.  He had been on his best behavior since his arrival a few days ago.  He was still dealing with her departure, secret wedding, and move to the North.  Even if she hadn’t really left.  She was still the Princess Royal, she still worked officially for them, but it was on simpler terms.  She was in love, the man she loved was “less than” according to her brother, and that was unacceptable.
She was tired of pretending to be other people just to have the man she wanted.
The love she wanted.
The hot coffee scalded her tongue and she swallowed it, regardless, enjoying the warmth.  She turned away from the window, spotting her husband in the large four-poster bed, hugging her pillow and watching her through hooded eyes.  “How long have you been staring?” she asked.
“Not long.”  He smirked.  “I like watching you.”
“Pervert,” she teased, walking over to offer him her coffee.  He took it and she crawled back onto the bed, drawing her legs beneath her, and hooked her arm around her ankles.
“I made my living watching you.”
“Yes, you did.”  She smirked, finding it something of a relief and yet also a slight achy pain at the memories.  She linked her fingers in his, playing with them on the soft, silky sheets, watching them slide together.  They were a perfect fit.  “I know we’re already married, but I still think this is a little chancy, seeing the bride before the wedding.”
He rolled his eyes.  “Dany, really?  I think we can handle whatever comes our way.”
True, she figured.  She exhaled hard, slumping down, head knocking against the headboard, swallowing the lump in her throat.  After a few seconds, she opened her eyes, picking a spot on the ceiling and staring.  “I just want to run away.  Why do I still want to run away?”
His hand squeezed in hers.  “It’s habit.  Too many years of it.”
They’d been married for almost five years now; they had a child.  She had her foundation, her charity, and she was one of the hardest working royals.  The public said she was happier, they could see it in her eyes, and they wanted her to be their queen.  Rhaegar had seriously misjudged things, he’d been too consumed in his own grief and fears to realize that she was the future of the Targaryens.  She was miserable before, now she was free.
Dragons did not belong in cages.
And yet…
Yet there were days where she still wanted to disappear into a wig and contacts, to pretend she was someone else, and while she did that as a coping mechanism, while she hated it and wanted to cry each time, she did it, in a sick, twisted way she missed doing it.  She slid away from him, getting up and padding towards the closet, stepping in and opening up the garment bag with her wedding dress.  She fingered the silky, filmy material, letting her mind wander.
It shouldn’t work.  They had never been allowed to be <i>normal</i>.  She didn’t understand it most days.
He came up behind her, feet padding on the hardwood floor.  She pulled the bag shut, spinning around on him, scowling.  “No peeking!”
“I wasn’t peeking,” he lied.  He leaned against the door frame, crossing arms and ankles.  His eyes narrowed, whispering.  “What is it Dany?”
She shifted, shrugging.  “Nothing.”  Lie.
“Don’t lie.”
“I’m not.” Lie. He arched his brows.  After a few seconds, shifting on her feet, she huffed, pushing her fingers through her hair and didn’t know what to do with her hands.  “I don’t…I just…” She was confused.  She didn’t know why.  Meeting his comforting gray eyes, she whispered, “How do I even put up with you? How do I do this?”
He frowned.  “What do you mean?”
“I just…I still don’t know…how do I do this with you Jon?  How do we do this life still?  I know it’s stupid, we’re already married, and we have our daughter and our lives and we…we make it work, but maybe it’s Rhae being here or my mom or Viserys but…” She groaned.  It made no sense, picking this fight, dragging these emotions into everything when they had no business being taken out from the chest, she’d locked them up inside when she’d finally broken out of that cage.  Hair tugging in her fingers, she dragged her hands down over her cheeks and cried.  “Sometimes I just don’t know how I’m doing this.  If it’s all going to slip away again.  Like one of the dreams.  Like those days we had together, and all went away.”
It must be what people felt like when all they knew was turmoil and everything started going right.  When would the carpet get ripped out from underneath her?  She knew she shouldn’t feel that way, but she still did.
He reached for her, wrapping her up and she buried her face into his shoulder, hugging him tight.  She didn’t cry; it was more just a wave of fear than it was anything worth truly sobbing over.  He stroked her hair, his fingers tangling in the curls.  “This is real Dany, this is all real, and nothing is going to change that.  We have each other, we have Alysanne, and I know you wanted to do this for your family, but we don’t have to if you don’t want to.”
She shook her head.  “No, I do.  I want to.”
“Rhae isn’t going to do anything to stop this Dany, he can’t.”
“I know, I just…it’s just leftover…” <i>Trauma.  Fear.  Nightmares.</i> She touched the fading scars on his chest, from so long ago, and lifted her face, smiling through unshed tears.  She loved this man so much.  “It will be fine.  I’m just…”
He touched his forehead to hers, whispering, “Healing.  It’s healing.”
“Yeah,” she murmured, holding him tight.  She stood with him in the closet for a while, not feeling ready to let go just yet.
That was, until the door opened, and a little dark-haired girl with her father’s frown came flying into the room, dragon temper on full display, shouting about how Uncle Viserys broke her seashell and just what exactly did they plan to do about it?
It’s real, Dany repeated, pulling away to grin at her daughter, who didn’t sense the heavy emotions she’d walked into, too busy presenting them with evidence of her uncle’s treachery.  She blew out a hard breath, watching Jon lift up their little girl and carry her off to deal with it.  She closed her eyes and hugged herself.  It’s real and I can do this.

It could be exciting
This is just a little something I came up with, I don´t know if I´ll do a second part. English is not my first language so I apologize now for any mistake.
Summary: You are both insanely shy, but what happens when one of you gets made fun of.
Warnings: Swearing, racism, just Bucky and reader being shy and cute as hell.
Relationships: Bucky x Mexican!Reader (this is for the story, there aren´t many dialogues in Spanish but I put the translation next to the phrases).
He walked through the same streets everyday, he liked that routine and liked knowing what to expect when walking to his usual pub where he enjoyed reading, sometimes drinking and even looking at the people walking by. The one day he had to find a different road to get to the pub was the one day you had settled in your new job at the animal shelter. It had recently opened, so Bucky had never seen it, but when he passed by after changing his usual way because of a sidewalk that was being fixed he stood from across the street watching the cats and dogs (separated by a wall but on the fenced garden). He loved animals, he had never owned one though, but he knew he wasn´t specifically a dog or cat person, he was just an animal person.
You were happily walking downstairs from your small apartment (it was over the shelter since the job also offered the option of renting the place upstairs) heading to the cats´ part of the garden. You were too busy looking for the thin red ribbon you knew the cats loved to play with to notice the metal-armed guy looking at the animals. His heart was already throbbing at the sight of the 8-10 cats either sleeping or chasing each other before he saw you, so when you got there, he only got a new reason to stay for longer watching.
You seemed completely in your element, he couldn´t help smiling to himself (widely). You were seating down in the middle of the grass holding the ribbon in the air, moving it from side to side with all the awaken cats seating in front of you, following the bright red thing that was in your hand. Once you had their attention you started moving it across their faces to annoy them, and then you swept it through the floor to make them follow it. You were giggling like crazy at the things they were all doing: standing in two legs when they couldn´t reach the ribbon, turning in their back and rolling, jumping from side to side and even hitting each other while trying to catch the toy.
If he had been happy at how pretty you were, at how comfortable you seemed around the animals and at the beautiful vibe you gave, when you started playing with the cats, moving playfully and clumsily, rolling on your back just like them, petting them, chasing them and letting them crawl on top of you when you were laying on the ground he regrated not having installed a camera on his metal arm just to be able to look at this moment forever. Your laughter was like music to his ears. I don´t even know her name, Jesus. He thought to himself.
He stayed there for God knows how long, but since he was at the other side of the street you never saw him. Oh but he had seen you, and he had already stablished in his mind the new street he would cross everyday from now on.
A few days went by and he did as he promised, he walked down the same street, and even when you weren´t there, he stayed watching the playful creatures for a while (but his heart ached whenever he realized you weren´t there).
You had finally settled everything in your new apartment, there were no boxes left. You sighed and threw yourself at the couch with a groan. You were about to fall asleep (in a pretty uncomfortable position) when you felt little claws jumping on your butt and settling on your back. You could hear the purr coming from Wolfie (who happened to be quite heavy) and you tried to move, but it was too late, when the cat settles on you, you can´t move. You were falling asleep again when your phone started ringing.
-Ugh tiene que ser broma!!!!- (You gotta be kidding me!!!) You shouted as you felt Wolfie jump off of you and you stood up walking over to the table.
-Hello?- You said.
-Hello?- You repeated slightly annoyed.
-Argh no era nadie- (It was nobody). Since you were already up you decided to go to the library, you could use some silence (yes that goes for Elton, that’s always demanding love) and your friend Dani had recommended you a book recently called “The alien”, so you decided to go and find a place where you could buy the book and also seat and read.
It didn´t take you long to find “The pendulum”, a cafe-library that was four blocks away from the shelter. It was great to know there was such a place so close to your place.
You found the book in no time (it was amazing to see they had a section of books in Spanish) , ordered a black coffee with a teaspoon of sugar and sat down in the most hidden table you could find. You weren´t antisocial, just a huge introvert that could sometimes talk to people easily, but that enjoyed not being disturbed, especially when reading.
You were pretty caught up in your book, but the long-haired guy with deep blue eyes certainly was enough to get your attention. He was insanely handsome, like ridiculously, and he seemed to be happy walking through the aisles of book. You smiled to yourself; sure It was great to get to see cute guys every now and then, but that was always it, you weren´t interested in dating, or more specifically, on initiating a conversation with a stranger. He saw you a couple of minutes after he entered the place and immediately recognized you as the shelter girl. He went to ask a girl that worked at the store for the book he need, she had a bored look on her face that made her seem kind of rude, but you didn’t like making assumptions about people..
Of course she had seen the cute guy and had been wandering around him waiting for him to ask anything so she could flirt, but at the moment he only had eyes for the clumsy and funny girl that worked at the shelter. He was shy, like really shy, he had never considered talking to you, he knew exactly what would happen, but he was happy with being able to see you at the shelter and now at the library. He had been walking around for ten minutes and forgot he was actually looking for a book, so he headed to the first worker he saw.
-Hey, I´m looking for a book called “The other side”, it´s pretty old and I haven´t seen it in any shelf- He asked calmly.
-Hey cutie, come with me, I´ll look for it in the computer- She said while tangling her hair with her fingers and smiling.
She seemed nice (at least when she was flirting), and it was none of your business if she wanted to talk to the guy, or if he wanted to talk too. Normally you didn´t care, sometimes the handsome guys you saw would flirt with other girls, sometimes they would flirt with you, but this time there was something about the blue-eyed that made you want to go and help him. Maybe he just seemed shy, but something told you he was different to the other guys you had seen.
-Let´s see- The girl said while typing- Mmmmm it´s only available for Kindle, if you have one you can buy it there. And if you do, we have a gift card for it of 15 dollars in the purchase of any item from the store that´s over 20 dollars-.
-I´m sorry, what´s a Kindle?- The guy asked shily. Okay, he was cute as hell, you thought. He genuinely seemed to not know, not because he was ignorant, but maybe because he was used to actual books, not electronic.
The girl laughed rudely.
-You really don´t know what a Kindle is? Hahahahahaha from what century are you?- She asked while still laughing. You were in the perfect spot to see his face, and that seemed to really affect him. Now that was something you wouldn´t tolerate, you knew what it was, being made fun of for not knowing things. You quickly stood up resting your book on the table and walked over to them. They were pretty close, so it wasn´t weird that you had heard the conversation.
-Hey- you said angrily to the girl- you enjoy making fun of your clients? I´m sure then you know absolutely everything, right?-.
She looked at you a bit shocked, but mainly pissed.
-Aw you´re defending the cute guy? I´m sure that´s the only reason why he would ever notice you- She answered. Oh she´s messing with the wrong one.
-Unlike you, I don´t care if people notice me, and it´s not my problem if you feel the need of being approved by everyone else. I defend him because you´re being an asshole and I know what´s like to be in his place so unless you want me to get you fired leave him alone or help him find what he is looking for-. You stated.
Bucky was impressed at how clever you were, and he couldn´t help the smile that creeped into his face while looking at you.
-Get me fired? Huh- She laughed- It´s my word against yours-
-It´s your word against hers and mine, I wouldn´t be so confident in keeping your job if I were you- Bucky said with a tone that seemed perfect for the occasion. He looked at you in complicity and winked an eye at you. And to be honest, you almost fucking fainted.
-The client´s always right, plus there are cameras here- Shit! You thought to yourself, just what you needed. The fucking accent. You had a pretty good pronunciation, and with the amount of idiots that saw a threat in latin people you were thankful for that, but on that last phrase the accent came out stronger.
-Oh hahahha, so you´re one of those huh, that should get back to their country, that cant even speak English right because they only speak Mexican- She said in between laughter.
-Hey!- Bucky said angrily- if anyone should get out of here is people like you-. You felt your heart jump in your chest and you turned to him with a thankful smile.
-And wait, did you just say “speak Mexican”? HAHAHAHAH It´s Spanish you idiot, and for your information, there is more that one country in Latinamerica. See, that´s being ignorant and racist, she should feel bad, not you-. You said winking at Bucky. He smiled widely and you could have melted at the sight.
-Ugh whatever, get the hell out before I…- She couldn´t finish, because the manager of the store came from behind a shelf and started talking.
-In the name of our store I apologize sincerely for this. Here is the book you were looking for sir, we do have it, and a card for you miss to get a book, both for free-. He continued to apologize and when he finished, he took the girl to his office. Later you would confirm she got fired. After thanking the manager, you went back to your table, followed by Bucky.
-Thank you so much- He immediately said- Seriously, I don´t know how to thank you for what you did-.
-Thank you too for defending me back, and honestly, for being a nice and smart guy other than a racist idiot-.
-Oh you don´t have to thank me for that- He said quietly as he felt his heart beat faster. You were talking to him, to him, directly to him, you, that amazing girl that even before knowing your name you were already wandering in his mind all the time.
-I´m Y/N btw- You said placing your hand in front of him, for him to shake. You were dying for his touch, even if it´s just a handshake. And he was dying too: your name was beautiful, and he was about to touch YOUR hand.
-James, but you can call me Bucky- He said taking your hand as his mind raced with thoughts of how beautiful, smart, nice, kind you were. This was ridiculous, he would normally not even talk to people and now he wanted to know everything there was to know about you. He wanted to tell you he had recognized you from the shelter but thought it would be weird so instead he did something he had never seen himself doing ever again.
-Mmm, would you like to, I don´t know, mmm, only if you want to and if your free, of course, mmm would you like to…- Seriously, could this guy be any cuter.
-I´d love to go out with you- You said slowly, praying for that to be what he was about to ask. You got your answer when his face lit up in a way you had never seen before. And as a result, you´re face turned to a bright red and got covered with an idiotic smile you didn´t know you had.
-You can put your book in my bag, just remind me I have it- Oh he wouldn´t, it was the perfect excuse to have a guarantee he would see you again.
He handed you the book and opened the door for you. You were both smiling like idiots at each other and started walking. You were so lost in each other that none of you had said where you would go or what you would do. You just walked and thanks to God none of you got run over by a car before you agreed to go to a restaurant that had just opened, it would be exciting to try something new, you both thought before heading out to the place.

Sam Wilson has a crush on two things: good coffee and you
Tumblr media
Pairing: EMT!Sam Wilson x Nurse!Reader
Word Count:1.981
Warnings: bad words, probably bad descriptions of medical professions and f l u f f
A/N: This is my submission to @sourpatchkidsandacokecan @littledarlinhavefaithinme "Little Darlin's Mystery AU Challenge". Thank you Clea for hosting this challenge! My prompt was EMT/paramedic featuring Sam Wilson. Many thanks to the only person lovelier than Captain America - Dani @xbuchananbarnes who kindly kept up with me rambling on and on about this for weeks. The banner picture was found here. I hope you like it ♡
Tumblr media
Sam Wilson was having a really bad day.
He had slept in, having missed his alarm by well over forty minutes, and when his - goddamned, motherfucking, idiotic - roommate Bucky started banging on the door warning that they were going to be late, Sam rose in a flash, tripping on the strewn covers and stubbing his left pinky toe on the foot of the bed. Howling in pain, he half-entered, half-fell in the shower, scrubbing himself as fast as he could while muttering curses under the cold water.
The temperature was just warming up when he got out, only to realize he forgot to get a towel from the clean laundry basket. Trusting that drying himself off with a face towel was less humiliating than asking Bucky for a regular one - even if it meant going over his legs five times - Sam lost even more precious minutes, having to forgo his beloved french-pressed coffee in order to get to the hospital on time. Barnes could be a dick sometimes, but he was the best ambulance driver in the city, and, right now, Sam’s only hope.
Only they were not on the ambulance yet, and New York City's traffic didn't make way for Bucky's old Camaro - "It's vintage!" - the way it did for first responders. So when the tires screeched in front of Brooklyn General and the two friends rushed to the ER, they were greeted by the displeased face of their supervisor, Maria Rambeau.
"Please come in" she said in mock welcome. "I'm sure emergencies can wait for the princesses to get their beauty sleep."
And because anything in life that can go wrong will go wrong, you happened to pass by precisely as Sam was spilling out apology after apology. From the corner of his eye, he saw you stifling a laugh as you ducked behing Maria to get to the women’s rest room.
That was Monday.
Tumblr media
Late evening blended into early morning and Sam found himself in the hospital cafeteria, upper body slumped on a chair and legs stretched in another. He always found it funny how healthcare professionals were usually the ones with the most unhealthy habits - like the irregular sleeping habits and the copious amount of bad coffee. Still, over and over again he took refuge on beige walls of the cafeteria, trying to find a modicum of rest between calls.
So far, the night had brought in an amateur archer with a cracked rib and a teenager with a allergic reaction to spiders. All in all, not a bad 24-hour shift.
Sunlight was just beginning to filter through the shutters when you walked in with Carol Danvers, another nurse. Your scrubs were rumpled and there was a dot of smudged mascara under your eyes. A thin line streamed your cheek from where the surgical mask sat and he was sure your hands were dry and scratchy from the latex gloves just like his were. Even so, to Sam, you were as beautiful as you did when you arrived yesterday morning, if only for the twinkled of mischief he could still catch in your gaze.
Next to him, Bucky snickered.
“You’re so whipped.”
That was Tuesday.
Tumblr media
The first time you saw each other outside the hospital, it was a coincidence.
Sam turned left at the coffee aisle and there you were - almost unrecognizable in legging pants and a cap, bopping to a song he couldn’t hear on your earphones. You looked worlds away from the capable nurse he knew you were, staring absentmindedly at the rows of grains, weighing different options on each hand.
He couldn’t help it. Maybe it was the familiar white packaging on your right palm or the way the black pants hugged your calves and thighs in a soft curve your scrubs could never achieve. Somehow, finding you in the domestic setting of the local grocery store brought the words out of Sam’s lips, past lungs and vocal cords, toppling the insecurity that lived at the tip of his tongue.
“The Colombian one is great,” he blurted out.
Your removed an earbud, then the other. Your confused frown morphed into the most beautiful stretch of lips when you recognized the tall man at the end of the aisle.
“Hey,” you beamed. “I know you.”
I know you.
I know you.
I know you.
“From the hospital,” you quickly explained yourself, not knowing you didn’t have to. “You're Sam, right?”
On the inside, he was hyperventilating.
Oh my God, she knows me.
“Yeah,” he cleared his throat. “Sam Wilson.”
Two steps forward and he was close enough to extend his arm. The handshake was brief and polite, but thrilling. Sam sensed the gentle caress of your palm on every nerve ending of his body. He was wrong yesterday: your hands were so soft it felt as though you'd never once wore latex gloves.
“Y/N Y/L/N,” you said and damn it sounded so much better coming from your mouth rather than someone else’s. “Since you’re a friend, do you think you can help me understand this coffee?”
Friend. Friend. Cool. Helping a friend at the grocery store. He could do that. Friend. Get it together, Wilson.
Sam cleared his throat again.
“Well, I use a French Press, so if that’s your thing I’d suggest a medium or dark roast. That one is one of my favorites,” he pointed to the small white bag you were still holding in the cradle of your elbow.
“Oh wow, you’re a pro,” you laughed. “I don’t think I can operate anything more complicated than a coffee bag.”
Sam raised his eyebrows.
“A coffee bag? Really? That’s like a crime against coffee!”
You giggled, carefree, melodious and slightly embarrassed, like the first warm breeze after a long winter, still shy and oblivious to her greatness.
“In my defense, I’ve been trying to get better,” you claimed. “I don’t think I can survive much longer with the cafeteria coffee as my standard.”
“You’re right about that,” Sam said. Then, in a push of his good luck, he added. “Hey, if you want you can borrow my book on coffee recipes. When’s your next shift?”
“Tomorrow morning,” you replied. “And thank you! Are you sure you won’t need your book?”
“Not at all!” he shook his head. “Besides, it would a crime to let you keep using those coffee bags.”
And there it was again, the laugh. He could keep hearing it forever.
There was a pause, then. That awkward silence in the middle of a sentence when someone wishes they could say more but they don't know how to. It's child's play all over again, from the itch at the tip of the fingers to the flutter in the stomach. In a few moments of quiet, everything is a lot - emotions are too intense, too noisy and too much, toppling over careful overthought expectations of an infatuated heart.
He saves the memory of your smile, willing it to be good fortune, read from coffee grounds sitting on a an empty cup.
“Ok, then. I’ll see you tomorrow, Sam.”
“See you tomorrow, Y/N.”
That was Wednesday.
Tumblr media
He found you at the nurses’ station.
Standard green scrubs, hair out of your face, glasses on the bridge of your nose. There was a pink stain on your middle finger from the neon pen you used to highlight patient’s prontuary.
He’d never seen you in glasses before and something about them made his heart beat faster.
“Hey, Y/N,” he said, fingers drumming the countertop in a nervous tick disguised as smooth greeting.
“Oh. Hey, Sam, ” you offered. Next to you, Carol Danvers looked like the cat that ate the canary. “How are you?”
“Good, good,” he nodded. “What about you? Committing any coffee sins recently?”
“I’ll let you know my coffee bags are safe and healthy, thank you very much,” you grinned and laughter bubbled from him in easy breaths of adoration.
“Here,” Sam slid a small rectangular to you. “The recipe book I promised you.”
You held it to your chest like a precious gift and he crumbled, tiny pieces of man falling apart in earth-shattering joy.
“Thank you so much,” you said. “I’ll let you know how it goes.”
“Please,” Sam whispered, either to you or to himself, he wasn’t sure. “Please do.”
That was Thursday.
Tumblr media
It took Bucky a lot of convincing, but he eventually let Sam take the Camaro.
"Never call her old again, ya hear me?" he complained. "Not when she's helping you get your girl."
Sam was going to call it something a lot worse if he didn’t manage to find a place to park soon.
On it’s defense, it was Friday night on Fulton Street. Chances of finding a parking space were little to none, even if you were a man with a crush and a nice car. So when he finally reaches you, looking pretty in a dress under the artificial light of a café, he’s just a little breathless from racing down three blocks.
“Y/N!” he exclaimed and you beamed, brighter than the signboard, or his headlights or the first twinkling star shining through the foggy city sky.
“Hey,” you said. “I thought you’d bailed on me.”
“Never,” he breathed out. “I just… Idrovemybestfriendscartoimpressyoubuttherewasnoparkingspace.”
“What?”
“I wanted to impress you, so I borrowed my friend’s car,” he admitted. “Only there was no parking space, so I had to go around the block a few times.”
Relief flooded from you and your shoulders visibly relaxed - but not enough.
The text came ungodly early, in an hour that most people would consider impolite, but not you and definitely not him. In your line of work, odd hours were just regular hours.
Hey Sam, it’s Y/N. Y/N L/N. I hope you don’t mind, but I got your number from an EMT named Steve. He said he’s your friend. Anyway, there’s this café in Bed-Stuy that’s doing a “French Press Festival”. I don’t know what that means but I thought maybe you’d like to come. With me. Like friends, of course. To honor good coffee.
He said yes of course. Perhaps more than once.
“I have something to confess, too,” you said. “I thought you’d found out about it and that’s why you didn’t show.”
Sam froze.
“I’m not a coffee newbie,” you admitted. “I actually know a lot about it. But when we met at the supermarket you seemed so enthusiastic… And honestly, I’d tried to find so many excuses to talk to you at the hospital but I was embarrassed - you make me nervous!”
And nervous you were, fingers twisting each other in a painful, agitated grip.
“I didn’t want to ruin the first good opportunity I got by saying that I knew the Colombian coffee was awesome, and yes, coffee bags should be banned from the face of the planet.”
There are moments that define a boy's heart. Shape it like more than muscle and blood, with something akin to manhood. Sam Wilson was grown - long limbs, tall frame and brave heart - but something in your presence screamed schoolyard crush and teenage fever at him. Like a toddler learning to walk or a boy tasting love for the first time. Like an adult discovering that some things feel better when they speed through older veins.
Sam’s smile was an earthquake - shattering the ground and dismantling structures in its wake. It rattled the five feet keeping you apart, pushing your bodies forward finally.
“I must say I was a little disappointed when you mentioned coffee bags,” he stated. Then he opened the café door and mentioned you forward. “But not as disappointed as I’ll be if say you’ll prefer Chemex over French Presses.”
You grinned and maybe Sam’s fortune was read before the coffee was poured.
“I guess you’re in luck, Mr. Wilson.”
That was Friday.
That was the beginning.

Love Will Find a Way
Ch. 12 on ao3
It took Dani approximately three minutes.
The small town of Troyes, located just a little Southeast of Paris, was still covered in darkness as Dani began to stir. Before the sun could peek through the curtains, she padded her way to the bathroom, her eyes still half-lidded with sleep. As was her habit in the rare event that she woke up before Jamie, she simply returned to bed, sidling up behind the gardener and pulling them close together. She adjusted her arm beneath Jamie’s pillow and let her head rest against it, closing her eyes once more.
Then, at last, she realized what day it was.
The au pair’s eyes flew open - wide as saucers - and she clutched Jamie with a jolt.
“Mmph?” Jamie asked. “Poppins? All right?”
Her heart hammered against her ribs and she forced herself to take even breaths. “Jay…”
The gardener shifted and turned so she could face the au pair - though her eyes remained closed - and Dani was struck anew. This beautiful, complex, miracle of a woman had said ‘yes’ all those months ago.
 And today, she would…
“Jamie,” she said in not more than a whisper. She reached for a brown curl, tucking it behind the gardener’s ear in awed reverence. “Jamie, baby,” she called her from sleep softly.
 “Hmmm?”
She stroked Jamie’s shoulder, tracing a trail that left goosebumps. She picked up the hand that followed the arm and brought it to her lips, kissing Jamie’s garden-tough knuckles before turning them over to kiss the muscle of her thumb tenderly. “We’re getting married today.”
Dani watched as a slow smile crept across Jamie’s features until she was wearing that smirk that usually made the au pair’s knees feel weak and her stomach flip. It was quiet in the room, so the only sound was her own sharp intake of a breath that she stilled by biting her lip.
Her eyes still closed, Jamie asked, “Are we now?”
Dani nodded though the gardener couldn’t see it. She pressed forward to lay a gentle kiss on the other’s lips, unable to wait any longer. To her relief, Jamie pulled her in, dragging the au pair to lay on top of her as their kiss deepened. Dani’s head was a pleasant fog as Jamie’s hands traveled to rest on her hips and pull her weight down while thrusting up to meet them.
The morning air was chilled, but the heat they were currently building became too much for Dani. She tossed the blankets and the sheets off of them. When Jamie made a soft noise of protest, she grinned on her lips. “I’ll make you warm.” She pressed her length against Jamie, sliding against her. Jamie was so soft, so smooth. She reached to weave their fingers together and raised their arms toward the head of the bed as she rocked into the gardener, effectively pinning the all-too-willing gardener down.
The pleasant tension between Dani’s legs climbed until she at last brought one of Jamie’s hands to her center. The gardener moaned her approval into Dani’s mouth and began a practiced rhythm. Even now, Dani still found herself wondering how the gardener could do this to her - touch her like she knew Dani better than the au pair knew herself.
She traced a light but sure touch down Jamie’s throat, along her collar, one of her breasts and her ribs, before she finally wove it between Jamie’s legs to match the gardener’s rhythm. Jamie split their kiss to throw her head back on the pillow, arching into Dani. At the sight, Dani forgot what it was to be anything but right here and right now with Jamie, and she thought that was perfect. She could never want anything else. Her lips found purchase on Jamie’s raised chest, and she grazed them across soft skin until they found a pink tip to take in. Gently, between her teeth, she pulled a nipple and sealed her lips around it to tease it with her tongue and suck. This caused Jamie to curse which didn’t at all help to slow Dani’s inevitable climb. She could feel Jamie getting closer and closer to the edge as well. When Jamie gripped the hair at the nape of Dani’s neck and said her name in a devout whisper, the au pair leaned forward to take an earlobe between her lips and then whispered “Come for me.”
As if a switch had been flipped, Jamie’s body collapsed and convulsed. Her grip on the au pair’s hair tightened and when Dani heard her name escape Jamie’s perfect lips in a cry of ecstasy, she came undone herself. Wave after wave of pleasure coursed through her as she begged Jamie not to stop. All the while, she felt Jamie grinding against her hand as her own waves crashed down upon her.
The au pair found her lover’s lips and let their tongues tangle themselves together as they each rode the other’s hand through aftershocks. At last, she fell to the bed next to Jamie, wrapping a leg around one of the gardener’s and letting her arm encircle Jamie’s waist as she laid her head on the gardener’s chest.
The gardener traced a finger up and down Dani’s spine, making her shiver. She kissed Dani’s shoulder in sympathy before pulling the covers back over them. “That’s one hell of a way to start a wedding day,” she said with a soft laugh.
 “Yeah,” Dani managed. “I’ll say.”
 ***
 “Wow...James, you’re gorgeous.”
“Clean up well enough when I have to,” Jamie said with a chuckle. “Hand me that, will you?”
Owen handed Jamie an elegant, gold-leaf bridal comb - the finishing touch - that had been sitting on the bed in a hotel room about a block away from the cathedral. Dani and she had decided to part for a few hours to make themselves ready, leaving some things to surprise for each other.
Owen still stood back, eyes wide and mouth gaping for a moment.
 “You all right, mate?”
He shook his head. “Did I mention you’re gorgeous?” he said with an aghast laugh. “Poor Dani’s not going to know what to do with herself.”
With a roll of her eyes, Jamie tapped his shoulder with a playful punch. “Easy, Sharma.”
Owen grinned. “Price of being a bride, I’m afraid. People get to tell you how beautiful you look. Anyway, you ready for this?” he asked. He sat on the bed and patted the spot next to him.
Jamie nodded and sat beside him as her gaze became glazed in thought. In truth, a part of her couldn’t believe that she was here- that Dani was about to promise she’d spend her life with her. “‘Course I’m ready. Feel a bit legless, if I’m honest.”
 “Already been in the drink?”
“No, mate,” she sighed out a laugh. “Just really fucking happy.”
“Ah,” he said with a teasing tone. “So you’re drunk in love.”
Jamie couldn’t even be annoyed at his lame attempt at a joke. “Guess so. Right, on to a little business. Flowers?”
 “Check.”
 “Seriously, flowers?”
“Seriously, check. Moonflowers in the bouquets and all.”
 “Everything good at the restaurant?”
 “Check.”
 “Dani’s mom? Judy?”
“Check. Check. They were with Dani earlier, but Hannah’s with her now.”
 “Good. The gremlins?”
 “Henry’s got them squared away.”
 “Henry?”
 “Hannah’s got him squared away.”
 “The rings?”
Owen tapped his breast pocket. “Got Dani’s here. Hannah has yours. We’ll keep them safe until Miles is about to walk down the aisle.”
 “The priest?”
 “He’s ready.”
 “Photographer?”
“Fine. Everything is fine, Jamie. Aisle be damned if anything goes wrong today.”
“Damn right, you will be,” Jamie laughed.
“Well,” he said, pushing off the bed. “I better go get Hannah so that she can escort you down the aisle to wedded bliss. I’ll be needing to find Dani, but I wanted to check in first.”
Jamie felt her heart squeeze with fondness for the man. “Thanks, Owen. Really.”
Owen grinned at her. “Do I get a hug?”
She narrowed her eyes, but nodded. “You’ve earned it, I reckon.”
They held each other, squeezing tight in a silent testament of how much they meant to each other. Before stepping back, Owen placed a light kiss atop Jamie’s head. “Love you, James. Marry the heck out of that woman.”
 “Plan to,” Jamie grinned.
 ***
 “Breathe, Dani.”
Dani tried for a subtle nod, not wanting to move too much as Hannah finished helping her with some make-up. “Right. Sorry.”
“Nothing to be sorry for, dear. I just don’t want to have to see Owen carry you down the aisle,” Hannah said with a soft chuckle. “There.” She dotted one last bit of powder on Dani’s cheek. “How’s that?”
 “Perfect. Thank you, Hannah.”
“‘Course, dear. Now, I have been asked to purvey a request. If you are not in the mood, we can carry on as planned, but if you’re feeling indulgent, there are a few Wingraves that want to see you before the big event.”
A bright smile spread across Dani’s features. “They’re here?”
 “Waiting in their room, yes.”
“I’d love to see them,” Dani said, and she meant it. The children had a calming effect on her. With other adults, she often found herself saying or doing the wrong thing, but with children - particularly children she was close to - she was more sure of herself.
Hannah texted Henry and two minutes later there was a soft rapping on the door.
 “Come in!” Dani called.
The door opened, revealing Henry smiling. “Miss Clayton, we’ve come to give our best wishes.”
Flora and Miles sped past him to meet Dani’s outstretched arms.
“Oof!” Dani said upon impact. “Oh my goodness,” she said, drawing back so she could see them better. “Look at you! You both look so sophisticated and dashing !” She said the last bit with an oafish accent, making the children giggle.
“You look wonderful, Ms. Clayton,” Miles said as Dani straightened his little bow tie that matched his suspenders.
“Yes, perfectly wonderful!” Flora agreed. “Are you excited? I’m terribly excited.”
“I’m terribly excited, too,” Dani agreed. “Can I tell you a secret, though? I can’t wait to see Jamie.”
“That’s not a secret,”  Flora said all too seriously, making Dani grin all the more. “I’m sure she can’t wait to see you either. You do look so lovely.”
“Thank you,” Dani said, “and thank you for coming to see me.”
“Yes, well, children, we’ve wished Ms. Clayton well. Now we best be off to the church,” Henry said, beckoning them to the door.
Dani walked them forward, and Henry stood still, his eyes scanning Dani as if he wanted to say something. He reached out to place a hand on her shoulder, “Good luck, Miss Clayton. Though, you and Jamie are just so god damned lucky already, aren’t you? You’ve found each other: each other’s better halves, through and through. You deserve every happiness. ”
“Thanks,” she said again and hugged him. “I’ll see you all there.”
Dani felt a tightening in her chest at the sight of the three of them leaving. So very soon, she would no longer get to see them every day. She wouldn’t see Flora’s curiosity blooming or Mile’s becoming more and more like his uncle. With whom would she debate politics and philosophy without Henry over breakfast? She shook her head, feeling a bit dramatic. After all, they could still call and video conference and visit. True, they were all growing past the need for each other, but that was okay. It was more than okay. It was wonderful.
Hannah seemed to sense the bittersweet scintilla in the air. She wrapped Dani’s shoulders in her arms in a sideways hug. “Right, what say we go get you married?” NOTES: Thanks so much for reading! Reblogs super appreciated!

Dani x Jamie Secret Santa Fic
Hi there! This is my fic for @damiesecretsanta‘s Secret Santa thing! It’s for @webgeekist but ofcourse for everyone to enjoy! Merry Christmas to everybody who celebrates it, have a good day to everybody else ;)
AUTHOR’S NOTES
Apparently, there’s two Vermonts in the USA? One is a state and one is a city in Illinois? I have no clue which they went to, but people in the Dani x Jamie Tumblr group chat kindly told me that the state gets more snow, so I chose that one. Montpelier is apparently the capital. You learn something new every day!
Am I over Dani and Jamie? Not at all...
I still have a whole scenario in my head with things following this, but the fic had to end here because that’s how I planned and wanted it and also I don’t want to write NSFW scenes because I am an innocent baby. Maybe I’ll write it in the future, though.
The title is inspired by the song This must be the place by Sure Sure, a song that I found in Amelia Eve’s JAMIE playlist, which I listened to while writing this fic. Thought it fitted.
Also, this is the first fanfic I have ever written, and it might not be great, but I’m proud of it anyways. Enjoy!
This Must Be The Place  Dani x Jamie - by @dewonderewereldvanfleur
In the first few months after their depart from Bly, Dani and Jamie didn’t plan anything more than one day ahead. Dani wanted to, sure, but she did not dare to dream of a ‘future’, how nearby or faraway this future might be. That’s why, when Jamie asked her about taking the train to Vermont for Christmas, Dani’s heart sank. Not because she didn’t want to go to Vermont, but because she couldn’t bear to think about Christmas yet. And Jamie understood. Jamie always understood.
“One day at a time is what we’ve got.”
And so, they resumed their adventure, one day at a time. However, on Christmas Eve, Dani found herself in a tiny shop at the mall. Jamie was getting them both dinner, as they had agreed to not do anything fancy and just eat some fries. Now was the perfect opportunity for Dani to buy Jamie some more last-minute Christmas presents. As she shoved the presents in her bag, she saw Jamie walking towards her and grabbed something else from her bag. Jamie’s eyes fell on the sparkly red envelope.
“What’s this, Poppins?” She gave Dani her fries and opened the envelope. Inside were two train tickets to Vermont.
“Early Christmas present. It’s the night train, leaves at eleven.” Dani replied. Jamie raised her eyebrows
“Dani, you sure?”
Dani smiled. Nodded. Jamie looked into her eyes, then down at her lips, where they lingered for a bit. She grabbed Dani’s hand instead. They hurried back to their room at the inn, the door barely closed behind them as Jamie put her lips on Dani’s, gently placing her hands on Dani’s lower back. Dani moved even closer to Jamie and together they stumbled backwards, until Jamie’s back was pressed against the wall. Dani put one hand one Jamie’s hip, eagerly directing her towards the bed, the other hand caressing her curls. As they fell onto the mattress, Dani moved her hand to under Jamie’s shirt. Jamie smiled, and smoothly broke away from the kiss.
“We should pack our bags, shouldn’t we?” she said, when she saw Dani’s disappointed face. She took the bag from under the bed and started putting their clothes into it. Dani reluctantly followed her lead.
Later that night, Dani and Jamie got on the train and walked down the aisle looking for an empty compartment. Luckily, not many people were traveling on Christmas Eve, so there were plenty left to choose from. Jamie placed the bags in the holder above their heads and passed Dani a blanket they had bought earlier at the station. Suddenly, Jamie was overcome by a sense of endearment for the other woman, who had already sat down and put half of the blanket over her legs. She kissed Dani softly on her forehead and sat down beside her, entangling their hands as soon as she was settled.
“You all right, Poppins?”
“Yeah. You?” Dani squeezed Jamie’s hand.
“Never better.”
“I’m glad. We should try and get some sleep; we’ll be there by morning.”
“Won’t be a problem. I’m knackered.” Jamie rested her head on Dani’s shoulder and closed her eyes. Dani formed the blanket around them and buried her nose in Jamie’s hair. By the rocking of the train, both soon dozed off to sleep.
Early the next morning, Dani woke up from the conductor, who was checking tickets a few compartments earlier in the train. She looked at Jamie, who was still soundly asleep, and reached to their tickets as silently as she could. Dani stared at the conductor and put her finger on her lips to shush him before he even opened the door. As he checked their tickets, he whispered:
“Thank you, ma’am. It’s 5:45 am, we’ll be at the Montpelier station in ten minutes. Merry Christmas.” He quietly closed the door behind him. Dani softly nudged her sleeping girlfriend.
“Jamie…” she whispered, “Good morning, Jamie. It’s time to wake up…” She nudged her another time. Jamie mumbled something. “Don’t make me get you train coffee. It’ll be worse than mine.” That got Jamie up. She slowly yawned and rubbed her eyes. Dani smiled at her. “We’re almost there. Five minutes and we’re at the station.”
“We’re there?” Jamie looked outside. Everything looked very green. She furrowed her brow. “Hoped there’d be snow here. Another time, I guess.” Dani planted a kiss on the tip of her nose.
“Come on, let’s get ready.” She untangled their hands under the blanket and got up to put the blanket back in her bag, while Jamie stretched herself and put on an extra jumper. The train stopped and they stepped onto the platform. They sat down on a bench for a bit and took in the view. It was definitely colder than it looked, with the morning sun brightly shining down on them, as if she was delighted they were there. Dani noticed Jamie rubbing her hands together and took the present she bought the day before from her bag.
“I got you another something.”
“Poppins, I thought we said no presents!”
“Yeah, well… I couldn’t help myself. Open it!”
“When we’re settled here somewhere, I’m going to get you some presents too!” Jamie pretended to be grumpy, but very excitedly opened her present. Inside were a pair of knitted gloves and a matching beanie. She grinned. “Exactly what I need right now.” She put them on and stood up. “Let’s get settled, shall we, Poppins?”
Already well after noon, Dani and Jamie had found a place where they could stay for at least two weeks. They had already spoken to the owner of the cottage, Dan, after having dug through the Yellow Pages for several hours. They had lunched in Montpelier and done some separate shopping, as they had agreed. Fortunately, there were busses driving in the direction of the cottage, just outside the city, every 30 minutes, and it was only a 10-minute walk after that.
They were greeted by a brown-skinned man. He shook their hand and spoke in a heavy Vermont accent.
“Welcome to Vermon’, ladies! The name’s Dan, I live a couple m-oy-les from here, so just drop by if you need anything! Everything should be in order. I’ll come and see you in a few days anyway, for the payment and everything. For neeow, got any questions?”
“I don’t think so.” Dani looked around her. “It’s beautiful out here. The cottage looks… splendid.”
“Perfectly!” Added Jamie, grinning.
“All right, then!” Sam continued. “Enjoy the moun-ains and Happy Holidays.” He got in his car and drove away. Jamie looked at Dani excitedly.
“This must be the place, then. It really is beautiful here!” She exclaimed, looking at the mountains and the trees surrounding the tiny house. She stepped on the porch and pushed open the front door, followed closely by Dani.
The cottage consisted of roughly four rooms. The first door on the right led to a small kitchen, that just fitted a furnace, a fridge, and a sink. In the windowsill were herbs in colourful pots and spices were on shelves on the wall. Across from the kitchen’s was a cosy living room, that had a dining table, as well as two armchairs in front of a fireplace. In one corner was a basket with several knitted blankets and in another was a cabinet filled with books and boardgames. Above the dining table was a chandelier that looked ancient, but somehow had electrical lights, and next to the door was a cute little Christmas tree decorated with fairy lights and purple ornaments. When Dani returned to the narrow corridor, Jamie quickly put her presents under the tree. The bathroom was nothing special; it had a toilet, a shower, and a mirror. Dani didn’t cover it, as she hadn’t seen Eddie in months. The bedroom, like the kitchen, was quite small, which meant that the king-size bed was as wide as the entire back wall. There was a big window in the wall, and on the sides were dark purple curtains to close at night.
Dani looked at Jamie and felt her heart swell. Jamie’s hair was tied together with a bandana, but one happy curl was dangling in front of her eyes. Those beautiful blue eyes, that had caught Dani’s attention even the first time they had met at Bly Manor. Jamie saw Dani staring at her and raised her eyebrows. Dani’s gaze moved down to her lips, where her eyes lingered, and she felt her cheeks turn pink. Jamie must’ve noticed too, because she leaned in, and Dani could feel her warm breath on her own lips. Dani pulled Jamie closer until their lips met, and a certain warmth filled her chest. Jamie tasted like tea and cinnamon, and the scent of her flowery deodorant filled Dani’s nostrils, until all her senses were captured by Jamie, Jamie, JAMIE. Jamie nibbled Dani’s lip and Dani let out a little gasp, which made Jamie smile. Dani pulled away to take off her jacket, and Jamie quickly resumed their kiss as soon as it hit the ground. Dani, who had her back turned to the bed, fell backwards on the matrass, and pulled Jamie with her, and-
“Ow! Shite!” Jamie cursed, as they bumped their heads together. Jamie rolled over on the bed, next to Dani. “Such a hard-headed woman, you.” She joked. Jamie looked over at her girlfriend, who hadn’t answered. “Dani, you all right?”
“Uhm, well,” Dani sighed, rubbing her forehead, “not, really. This shit freaking hurts.” Jamie pulled away Dani’s hands, and saw that it was already bruising.
“You just stay here; I’ll get you some ice.” Jamie quickly jumped off the bed and got some ice from the freezer, to put on Dani’s head. “Keep it there for a bit, Poppins, or you’ll be black and blue tomorrow. I’ll cook us some dinner.”
After dinner, when Dani had recovered a bit, it was time to do the dishes, but Jamie could hardly contain her excitement for Dani opening the presents. She saw the Christmas lights on the porch through the window, and as soon as washing up was done, she grabbed Dani’s hand and pulled her to the living room. Jamie grabbed the basket full of blankets and gave it to Dani. Then she grabbed the presents from under the tree.
“Let’s go sit outside, Poppins.”
“Yeah, okay. It looks cosy.” Dani smiled and they walked outside. They wrapped themselves in blankets and sat down on the steps. Jamie pulled out three presents, and she handed Dani the first one. Dani opened it to find a mug inside; painted on it were the Vermont mountains.
“It’s only for tea that I make, though,” Jamie added grinning as she handed Dani the second present. “you’re still shite at it.” Dani laughed and opened the second one. Inside were the ugliest Christmas socks she had ever seen. She tried to look glad, and Jamie burst out laughing.
“Ugly aren’t they, Poppins?” she said, still smiling widely. “I know, don’t worry. But they’re really soft and warm! I hope you’ll like this one, though.” She handed Dani the last present. It was a small, rectangular package wrapped in dark red paper. She carefully opened the present and turned the book to face the cover. It was an old copy of James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl. Jamie looked at Dani and added:
“Was my favourite book as a kid. One of the only books I had, actually. Read it so much it eventually fell apart. Literally.”
“Wow, Jamie…” Dani stammered, “I love it. It means a lot.”
“Well, I just came across it in this bookstore, and I wanted to share it with you.” Jamie chuckled. “It’s silly, but I just couldn’t put it back after finding it.”
“It’s great!” Dani assured her. “Oh! I just remembered, I found something too.” She ran inside and came back with her coat. She pulled out what looked like a couple of branches. “I found this plant on the street, and I thought you could save it…”
“You thought I could save it?” Jamie looked at Dani, and then back at the plant. “Poppins, I’m pretty sure that’s a mistletoe.”
“Are you now?” Dani grinned mischievously and locked eyes with Jamie. She held the mistletoe above her head, and she saw Jamie’s eyes dropping to her lips. Her eyelashes hid the blue of her eyes, so Dani followed the lashes, down to Jamie’s nose, Jamie’s lips, just in time to notice her softly biting her lower lip. Dani felt a shiver move through her body and took a deep, shaky breath. And then they were kissing, Jamie’s soft lips on Dani’s, her hands in Dani’s hair. Dani could hear Jamie breathing deeply and brushed her tongue along her upper lip. She felt Jamie tremble and put her hands on her hips. She grabbed the fabric of Jamie’s sweater and pulled her in even more, moving her hands under it, onto the warm skin of her lower back. Dani gasped and Jamie’s tongue slipped inside her mouth, hot and sweet and gentle and confident. She felt her heart pounding out of her chest, every beat in sync with Jamie’s movements. One of Jamie’s hands drifted from Dani’s hair to her back, drawing a line down along her neck and between her scapulae. Dani felt Jamie smile against her own lips and opened her eyes. Still embracing each other, they locked eyes and sat like that, foreheads still together, both panting heavily, unwilling to let go just yet. Dani felt something cold tingle in her neck and noticed Jamie shifting her eyes away. She followed Jamie’s gaze and saw fluffy, white flakes flurrying to the ground. Jamie smiled and grabbed her hand. As the snowflakes got bigger and the snowfall got heavier, they moved back until they were against the wall, drily under the canopy. They entangled their legs and rewrapped themselves in the blankets. Jamie leaned her head on Dani’s shoulder, and Dani wrapped one arm around her waist. Jamie sighed and quietly whispered.
“Merry Christmas, Poppins”
“Merry Christmas.”

The Best is Yet to Come
A Brightwell Fanfic
Story By: @hoffkk
Prompt: Gimme a starting question, and I’ll give you a brightwell fic that ends with a kiss!
Question: What do you think I’m doing here? from @officerparker
Summary:  When Malcolm and Dani become engaged, his mother gets a little overzealous with the wedding planning. The couple is grateful but also annoyed and at a loss. How does one stop Hurricane Jessica?
**********
"Mother, what are you doing here?" Malcolm asked curiously. He wasn't expecting her arrival this morning, yet here she was just letting herself right into his apartment as classy and sassy as ever.
"What do you think I'm doing here?" Jessica retorted exasperatedly. Not waiting for a response, she quickly added, "I'm here to plan the wedding of course."
Sitting at the counter next to Dani drinking coffee, he shared a confused look with his new fiancée then flicked his gaze back to his mother and replied, "We literally just got engaged two days ago."
"Exactly. We're all ready a full day behind," She noted, moving forward with her designer handbag in one hand and a large paper shopping bag in the other. "and if this is going to be the event of the season, we must begin preparations as soon as possible. Speaking of... what season were you two thinking of getting married in?"
"We haven't really gotten that far." Dani told her.
"Oh, no matter, we should really pick the location first and then see what they have open over the next year," Jessica said with a wave of the hand. "which reminds me, I took the liberty of making a few calls yesterday to the trendiest wedding venues in the city and..." She continued to rant as she walked off toward the living room to put down her bags and get out her phone. Malcolm rolled his eyes then mouthed "Sorry" to Dani who just smirked and gestured with her head to follow. Heading down the hall with their coffee, they all sat down on the couch as Jessica looked at the notes on her cell and listed off the venues she had called and the dates available. After much discussion, they settled on the Tribeca Rooftop. It had the wow factor that Jessica wanted, and Dani liked the idea of an outdoor wedding, especially after looking at the pictures of the location in a wedding magazine that Jessica had brought with her. As for Malcolm, he was happy as long as both of the women were happy. With this decision made, his mother made a call to book the location. Next, Jessica grabbed the shopping bag she had brought and pulled out a fancy white board with white ribbons stretched across it, creating an elegant diamond pattern.
"This is the wedding vision board." She smiled as she handed it over to Dani.
"Vision board?" Dani queried with a quirk of the brow as she passed the magazine to Malcolm and took the board.
"Every time we make a decision, we add it to the board under one of the ribbons to create the perfect vision of the perfect wedding." Pausing a moment, Jessica grabbed the wedding magazine from Malcolm and her scissors from her purse. Then, after some tearing and cutting, she slid a small picture of the rooftop between two ribbons in the center of the board. "There. Brilliant." She went on, admiring her handiwork. "Now, let's talk about color scheme." The discussion went on for a couple hours as they talked colors, flowers, and food. The latter brought up the question of the head count for the wedding. When his mom was talking about inviting over 300 people, Malcolm knew he had to put an end to her madness but didn't know how. Then, like a miracle from heaven, his phone rang. Hastily pulling it from his pocket, he answered after the first ring, "Hey, Gil. Good to hear from you, buddy. What's up? A case? Uh huh, of course. We'll be right there. Bye."
"Malcolm, you can't leave now." His mother grumbled unhappily.
"If there's a case, we don't have a choice." Dani told her. "Don't worry, we will finish this conversation later."
"We better. The wedding is in 8 months, and we've got a lot of work to do." Jessica told them.
"Right. Why don't you head home and work on the guest list then? You make your own, and we will make our own, then we can cross reference them later this week." Malcolm suggested.
"Fine." Jessica huffed. "I suppose that will work. Oh, and I want to make an appointment at Kleinfeld 's Bridal, so you need to decide on the wedding party ASAP, okay?"
"Will do." Malcolm nodded.
"All right, go do whatever it is you guys do to get ready for work. I'll show myself out." Then, grabbing her purse, she gave a wave and an air kiss then called out, "Ta-ta for now, my darlings."
The couple stood and returned Jessica's goodbye as they watched her head back to the front of the apartment and out the front door. Once the door shut behind his mother, Malcolm sank back down to the sofa and breathed a sigh of relief, "Oh, thank god."
"What are you doing? We have to get going." Dani said crossing her arms and staring down at her fiancé as he ran his hands through his hair and leaned back.
Resting his feet on the coffee table, he closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose, willing away a small headache that was beginning to form. After second, he replied casually, "No, we don't. That was just Ainsley."
"What?" Dani questioned, feeling puzzled.
"I lied to get my mom to leave." He explained.
"Wow. Thats..." She trailed off, coming to sit beside him before finishing. "one of the sweetest things you've ever done. Thank you."
Malcolm felt her warm lips against his cheek and suddenly felt much better. Opening his eyes and dropping his hand, he inquired, "So, you're not mad."
"No." Dani assured. "Don't get me wrong, your mom was being very helpful, but she was also a little..."
"Intense? Neurotic?" He suggested.
With a smirk, she shook her head at him then amended, "I was gonna say overwhelming."
"Yeah, well, Jessica Whitly is nothing if not a planner, all the way down to the very last detail." Malcolm assured. "And when she sinks her perfectly manicured claws into a project, she really gets into it, especially if it involves me."
"Clearly." Dani retorted, staring at the nearby upholstered chair that currently displayed their vision board which was exploding with magazine clippings now. "I mean, knew wedding's were a lot, but Whitly weddings are A LOT a lot."
"Don't worry, I'll talk to her." He told her as he moved his feet back to the floor and threaded their fingers together."I'll tell her to back off and let us make the decisions. In fact, just say the word, and I can tell her we changed our minds about everything we decided today."
"No. Don't do that." She tossed back. "I like our plans."
"Really?" Malcolm challenged skeptically. "Because I know you, Dani Powell, and grand events aren't exactly your style. You can't really want a fancy rooftop wedding with over 300 people."
"The concept isn't terrible." Dani replied vaguely, not wanting to admit that he was right. "Besides, it made your mom so happy when I agreed with her suggestions."
"But this wedding isn't about her." He argued. "It's about us."
"I know." She nodded, pulling his hand into her lap and sandwiching it between her own. "But I also know your mom has been through hell ever since your dad's arrest twenty years ago and deserves to finally have something good to celebrate. You all do. So, let her plan her heart out and create an amazing celebration as big as she wants. She'll be happy, and it'll make everything much easier for us in the long run."
Malcolm looked into her warm brown eyes and smiled at how incredible she was. He never thought about the wedding that way, but Dani, as usual, was right. Happy occasions were in much shorter supply for the Whitly family than most. They had been since he was ten. So, now that these joyful moments were coming around more often, they owed it to themselves to make the most of them. Needing to be certain about her stance on this though, he asked in confirmation, "Are you sure?"
"Positive." Dani smiled back. "Honestly, this may not be the wedding I always pictured, but there is only one detail that really matters to me."
"What's that?" Malcolm questioned with a tilt of the head, trying to read her expression.
"You, waiting for me at the end of the aisle." She smiled affectionately, meaning every word. It was true. Jessica could do whatever she wanted... release 1,000 doves, dress her like a cupcake, invite all of New York City... it didn't matter. As long as the end game was marrying Malcolm, she'd be happy, truly, blissfully happy.
"Done." He beamed with pleasure before closing the gap between them and kissing her slowly and deeply to seal the promise.
Dani responded in kind, cupping the side of his face with her free hand. After a long moment, she pulled back and stared into his sapphire gaze as she stroked his cheek tenderly with her thumb. Not wanting the moment to end, Dani bit her lip then said, "You know, we should probably do that again... as practice for the big day."
With a cheeky grin Malcolm countered, "Or we could practice for the big night."
Her smile widened and amusement lit her eyes as she replied, "We could do that."
Without hesitation, Malcolm moved in one quick fluid motion, lifting Dani from the couch bridal style. She squealed in surprise and giggled in delight as he headed down the hall and across the threshold of the bedroom. If being engaged was this wonderful, Dani couldn't wait to be married. Starting a life with Malcolm was definitely going to be the best thing that ever happened to her. Yes, the best was definitely yet to come.

Babe, there’s something lonesome about you.
Something so wholesome about you,
get closer to me.
-Hozier, “From Eden”
The Godswood of Winterfell was always magical. Something about the overgrowth of the plants gave it a mystical quality and enhanced that it was a holy place. It was surrounded by activity and noise but remained quiet and peaceful, wholly removed from the frenetic atmosphere of the castle. Jon found himself there often, listening to the soft bubbling of the hot spring and the light birdsong. He’d spend hours there if he could but somebody always discovered him and the moment was ruined.
Now, instead of the uninterrupted nature scene, there were a hundred or so chairs arranged in front of the heart tree to form a long aisle lined with white and wine colored flowers and twinkling lights. The decorators even wove them around the tree branches, letting the strings dangle off and wave like the branches of a willow. At the beginning of each row of chairs stood an arch, laden with flowers and greenery. There wasn’t an altar or arbor, the Weirwood provided all of that, its red leaves stretched over the place they would stand.
On top of the ethereal decor, the excited energy from everyone gathered for the rehearsal ceremony created a palpable buzz. Jon hoped it was enough to cover up his apprehension. He refused to be nervous, it wasn’t any different than all the state appearances and functions he participated in. But there was still reason to be hesitant.
“I’m sorry I’m late,” Dany’s voice called from the back of the seating area, “The final fitting took longer than expected.”
The wedding planner assured her it was okay as Dany charged up the aisle. When she reached the front, a bundle of fabric was pushed into her arms and she settled into the seat next to Jon.
“Is that a bride’s cloak?” “Yes,” she sighed, “I had to make a compromise with Her majesty so I could repay a favor I owe someone.”
He assumed she meant the single photographer that prowled around the area of the Godswood, whose obnoxious camera clicks interrupted the soft bird song and whispers around them.
Dany unfolded the bundle and swept the black cloak around her shoulders, fastening the clasp with ease. Jon was a little pleased to see it was lined with fur.
“You’ll be glad to have it tomorrow,” he commented.
“Why? It feels fine right now.”
“There’s going to be a cold snap.”
The forecast didn’t predict for anything other than a rain shower over night but Jon could tell. The drizzle would turn to flurries and the snow would stick around long enough for the wedding ceremony around noon. At least it would be ice and snow instead of muddy and damp.
“Let me guess, you can feel it in your bones?”
“Something like that.”
“Doctors say that’s a sign of arthritis.”
Jon splayed his hands out in front of him and then turned them so Dany could see, “They look fine to me. Would you like to assess them, considering you have a wealth of medical knowledge?”
“Mm, I’ll pass, thank you.”
He shrugged and dropped his hands but unconsciously popped the joints. He noticed Dany doing the same thing.
“Alright everyone, let’s get started,” the wedding planner said, “We will be running through the whole ceremony so everything goes smoothly tomorrow. After the processional we will have the opening remarks and invocation from His Highness, Benjen Stark, a reading from both sets of Their Majesties, then the unity promise and changing of the bride’s cloak, then we’ll exchange vows and rings, and finally the recessional. It should be noted that the vows and rings section will only be mentioned.”
They were given the run down of the processional order and dismissed to their starting positions. Dany retreated back down the aisle with Sansa and Arya right behind her, wrangling a gaggle of high born children. A stirring, melancholy melody started from the string quartet behind the seating and his father and Catelyn started down the aisle. They were followed by Elia, escorted by Bran as her husband would be responsible for leading Dany.
As was a royal wedding custom, the bridesmaids and pageboys followed the bride down the aisle, so Dany walked before them. With her brother absent, she forged down the lengthy walkway by herself. She was far enough away that she looked small and lonely despite the bodies behind her.
That Dany reminded him of the version he’d first met, the outer shell of Daenerys that the media observed and critiqued. Jon would’ve assumed she used her solitary nature as a form of elitism. Keeping people at an arm’s length and seeming to float above them just to show she was better. But he knew her at least a little bit better than that and was starting to understand it.
Being alone was easier for Dany. He noticed that long and lengthy social events weighed on her. She still smiled and made conversation, like any good Princess was taught, but she always slipped away quietly when things settled down. It made sense then, why she skipped the gala to swim in fountains.
As she neared, Jon saw that instead of a bouquet she had a sword in her hands. It took him by surprise until he remembered that she was supposed to have it. The presentation of a weapon the groom could use to defend the bride was meant to further reinforce the idea that she was under his protection. Rheagar would carry it tomorrow but, for now, it was hers. And paired with the stoic look on her face, Dany looked like a painting of a warrior queen Jon saw at a museum opening once. A romanticized rendering of a woman standing against the backdrop of a dark, furious storm. Her dress and hair caught in the forceful gales before the skies opened up, the sword held tight against her chest.
Then the breeze picked up, tousling Dany’s hair and fluttering the white silk of her rehearsal dress. And Jon wondered if the Gods pulled that warrior out of her frame and set her walking down the path toward him.
“You picked a fine young woman, Jon,” Uncle Benjen remarked.
There weren’t priests for the old gods so the wedding committee picked the closest thing they had to a holy man. It helped that Uncle Benjen was ordained by the state too.
“We’re just lucky she hasn’t sprinted back down the aisle yet.”
Jon elbowed Robb in the ribs, “That’s because this is a rehearsal, dumbass.”
“You never know.”
But they did know and there was no chance anyone was allowed to get cold feet.
Finally, Dany was standing at his side, her stoic expression as they turned to face Uncle Benjen. As he started in on his opening remarks, Dany set the tip of the scabbard into the ground and rested her crossed wrists on the pommel.
The invocation started when Uncle Benjen started asking the Gods to watch over the ceremony and provide a number of things to the couple about to be married. It was during this that Dany leaned toward him and whispered,
“So, do you have a huge bachelor party planned for after this?”
“You mean like a stag party?”
“Yes, that.”
Jon hadn’t wanted to tell her about the custom practiced in the North so it would come as a surprise. But he figured Dany wasn’t a big fan of those, so he decided to tell her. The ceremony moved on to the readings.
“Actually, we have this… tradition-” the look she gave him was full of annoyance- “where the groom has to steal their intended from their family. Otherwise he isn’t worthy of her.”
“I think we’re far past needing to worry about ‘worthiness’ but continue.”
“And we get out of the castle for a while.”
“Just us?” she raised an eyebrow.
“And the security detail.”
“Alright, I’m in. Just one more question.”
“Yeah?”
“Am I supposed to put up a fight?” the smirk on her face…
“You can if you want to,” Jon agreed.
“I’m in.”
Uncle Benjen stated it was time for the unity promise and motioned to Dany.
“If you plan to steal me, then you’ll probably need this.”
She offered the sword to Jon, the modestly embellished scabbard glinting as he took it. A hand-and-a-half, a bastard sword. A small smile bloomed on his face, he wondered if Dany knew it was called that. The hilt was wrapped in black leather, a little worn from use, and the silver pommel contained an egg shaped fire opal that shifted between orange and green and red. He pulled the sword out of the scabbard enough to reveal the swirling texture of the blade. Valyrian steel, the technique of making it was long lost to the world. Owning one was rare as the Targaryens kept them in a private collection.
House Stark had one in their possession, the greatsword Ice. It was gifted to them by the original dragon lords of Valyria who settled on Dragonstone, before Aegon’s ambitious conquest and the doom. The greatsword was only used in the coronation ceremony of a new King of the North now but it was still considered to pass from king to king as though they still used it in battle.
It would belong to Jon, without question. But there was a time when it couldn’t be. He couldn’t remember if he really wanted the sword and he certainly didn't expect it. But what young, bastard boy doesn’t want to rise above his station by some miraculous means?
“Does it have a name? All the best swords have names.” Jon prompted, wondering if Dany knew any of the history behind the weapon.
“If it did, we don’t have any record of it. It’s one that we loan out to museums but I’ve always been fond of it so I figured it could find a home here.”
There was something wistful about her tone, as though she wasn’t really talking about the sword.
Jon handed the sword to Robb, who placed the Stark bride’s cloak in his hands. He turned back to Dany and she removed her Targaryen one. The direwolf embroidered in pearls and jet gave the cloak weight and her shoulders shifted trying to distribute it and keep the clasp from her throat.
“May you each bring your best self to the other. May you each bring commitment as well as faith to the task set before you. May you maintain enduring respect and trust. May all who follow your lives have cause often to rejoice, not only in happiness, but also in your brave and generous living,” Uncle Benjen recited.
Jon couldn’t think of a more perfect blessing for a marriage forged in politics. There was no reflection of love, merely neutral intent and factors that would make any business relationship successful.
They had to go through the recessional, Dany and Jon retreating down the aisle to the playful cheers of their family. Luckily, the wedding planner deemed the single run through acceptable but there was still one more rehearsal waiting for the happy couple.
The tables of the Great Hall were pushed to the sides, as they would be after the dinner portion of the reception, to create a dancing space. Above them hung the banners of every house in the North, from Karstark to Reed, and the decorators hadn’t spared the hall in their descent upon the castle. The same flowers and lights were strung through the heavy chandeliers, similar bunches near sconces and on window panes.
The choreographer gave them last minute reminders before the music started. An old fiddle, guitar, and pipe ballad at a walking speed, perfectly paced for two arguably amateur dancers but a tad melancholy for a wedding celebration.
“Are you ready for this?” Dany asked over the music as they circled each other.
“As ready as I can be. You?”
“We’ll see.”
The first pass of steps was easy and they stayed far enough away to avoid injury. The next part brought them closer until Jon offered his hands and Dany accepted them. They both had to focus harder to keep from making mistakes. However, their little blunders still happened.
The instructor once explained the symbolism behind the steps and their order. Something about the development of his and Dany’s relationship but also the expected camaraderie between North and South. Jon didn’t know if any of the wedding guests would pick up on it, they would be too drunk to really care, and all he could focus on was how complicated the steps were despite the slow pace of the song.
Jon second guessed his hand placement and missed the intended mark entirely, colliding with Dany’s rib cage. She stumbled but recovered.
“Sorry,” he muttered, trying to remember what piece of the overly complex choreography came next.
She chuckled and shrugged it off, “If it boosts your confidence, you’re better than a good portion of the partners I’ve danced with at court.”
She looked up at him, inclining her chin in the slightest hint of movement. Their bodies were pressed close together as they moved back and forth across the floor, allowing them to lower their voices.
“I highly doubt that.”
“Not all noblemen are light on their feet. I’ve had my fair share of toes and fingers crushed.”
“Fingers?”
“It’s a long story,” she dismissed.
“One for tonight?”
“If the conversation leads us there.”
They quieted as they came closer to the end of the dance, the series of steps and passes and small hops requiring their full attention if they wanted to get through it. Dany stepped on Jon’s foot when she was behind the music.
The apologizing started again but was cut off when Jon wrapped his arm securely around her waist for a small lift, foreheads bent close to offset the gravity. Dany’s cheeks were a deeper shade of pink when he set her down but whether that was from the dance or something else he couldn’t tell.
They entered the last section of the dance, a series of spins and twirls ending with the two facing each other, palms touching. Instead of the expected applause, they were celebrated by a groan from the choreographer.
They received a sum of all their mistakes, accented by looks of disappointment, but Jon and Dany fell into their regular fit of stifled laughter that came with the hilarious thought of broken toes and misplaced hands. They would run it two more times before they were allowed to leave the Great Hall, tired and sweating.
Jon found Robb and Theon in the smoking lounge with a large group of people fussing over a pile of foam swords. Left overs from someone’s birthday party long ago but they would serve their purpose.
“We’re going to have to split into teams, Dany doesn’t have enough family for it to be any fun,” Robb said as Jon approached.
“Sansa and I will be with her and the Southern Queen tonight,” offered Arya as she poked her sister with the soft weapon.
Sansa knocked it away but when Arya stuck her again, she gripped the foam blade and pulled it from the young troublemaker.
“And I plan to be there too,” Rhaegar Targaryen, who arrived at Winterfell only an hour ago, pitched in.
“Just don’t give Dany a sword. She’d love to knock me senseless right about now.”
“I will make no such promises,” Jon answered, not wanting to deny Dany the satisfaction taking her anger out on her brother in a relatively harmless way.
After double checking the transportation and destination arrangements and sending Sansa and Arya off to ‘guard’ Dany, Jon was able to relax into some light drinking with the men who joined him. They lounged around with their glasses and laughed at stupid jokes they had heard a millions times before. He was already feeling a little more like himself, ready to run through the halls of the ancient castle wielding a foam sword like a damned idiot. It wasn’t long before they were ready to begin that night’s fun.
Jon stood, raised his glass and said, “Alright boys, let’s go steal my bride.”
Cheers and laughter rose up as Jon drained the contents of his glass and slammed it down on the table in front of him.

Make My Wish Come True | Whoever You Want (6th Day of 🎄)
Tumblr media
It’s officially the 6th day of Christmas! We’re halfway through this you guys! I hope you’re enjoying my stories! 💕
(Credits to the owner of this gif!!!)
~~
‘Mi amor,
I have a little surprise for you this Christmas. Now bare with me, I know you can get a little impatient at times, but I had this day all planned out just for you. I wrote a couple of letters and placed them around the city. I want you to follow them for me, baby. Your friend Cristina will come by in a bit to pick you up and take you to your next letter – more instructions will follow throughout the day. I hope you love your flower, make sure to take it with you everywhere you go today. You’ll see me very soon. I can’t wait to see you. Te amo. x’
I looked down at the letter in front of me and wondered what he had planned for today. I had woken up to an empty bed and had gone to the kitchen to make myself something to eat, only to find breakfast already made and set on our table. A single rose rested in a glass vase with this letter attached to it.
The smell of pancakes infiltrated my nose as my mouth began to salivate at the glorious scent. I warmed myself up a cup of coffee, sat down and took a bite of the food. “Mmm…” I smiled and mentally thanked him for this wonderful surprise, but I did wish he was here so we could be eating this together.
After breakfast, I had gone into my room to quickly get ready. Cristina had texted me saying that she was gonna be here soon, so I might as well get ready quickly. I simple pair of jeans and a cute top ought to be okay.
My phone rang when I finished putting my shoes on.
“Hello?” I answered as I picked up the phone. “Hey! I’m right outside!”
“Okay, I’ll be there in a sec.” I hung up, quickly slipped on my jacket, locked the front door and walked over to her car. “I’m here!” I laughed and got inside, setting my things aside as she started her car once again. “So, Cristina, my love, haha where are we going first?” She smiled and started driving away.
“Oh girl, that’s a surprise.”
We sang along to some music that played on the radio as she continued to drive to our destination, until she stopped and parked the car in front of a hair salon. “Um… what are we doing here?” I asked as she unbuckled her seatbelt. “Surprise.” She laughed. “This is our first stop.”
“I’m – what? Wait, hold up..” She got out of the car and I followed after her. “A hair salon? You’re not telling me that I’m gonna..” she nodded her head and took my hand in hers. “C’mon!” We walked inside and was greeted by the people here. “Hi, can I help you two girls today?” The lady asked as she stood behind the counter.
“Yes, we have a reservation for Ms. (L/N).” Cristina responded and the lady nodded. “Oh, you’re Ms. (L/N)?” She asked as I nodded. “I actually have something for you..” She crouched down, grabbed something from under the counter and came back up with a rose and a single note. “Here you are.” She smiled and handed them to me.
“Oh, thank you.” I shyly smiled and grabbed the small gifts.
‘Baby,
Surprise! I know you’ve been saying you want to go get your hair done again really soon, so I booked an appointment and I want you to treat yourself with a new hairstyle and get your make up done. Don’t worry about paying for it, I already got that covered. I can’t wait to see you mi amor. x’
Well… this is going to be interesting. I looked through the hairstyles and colors I might want to try out until I found one that spoke to me the most. The lady called my name and I sat on one of the chris styling chairs there and showed her what type of style I’m going for.
“Let’s get this started..”
-
“Girl, you look amazing!” Cristina spoke as we got inside her car. “It totally suits you!”
“You’re makin’ me blush over here.” I laughed and grabbed my two roses in my hands. “It’s the truth.” She smiled as she started the car. “Okay, Uber driver, where are we off to next?”
“Oh wow, so I went from friend to Uber. What an upgrade.” She joked as she started driving to our next destination. “And just because of that, I won’t tell you where we’re off to next.”
“You weren’t gonna tell me anyways, weren’t you?”
“Nope.” She smiled. We continued to talk and joke about things going on in our lives as she parked outside of a nail salon. “… Nails?” She nodded and hopped out as I followed after.
“(Y/N)! Cristina!” I heard my friend Alexis yell as she came over to greet us. “Hey! How are you?”
“I’m doing great! How about you?”
“I’m doing amazing. Oh! I have something for you.” She had us follow her to a nail technician and told her that we have an appointment already set for us at this time. “Is this her?” The lady spoke as she saw me approach her. “She sure is.” Alexis spoke as we now stood right in front of her.
“Give me one second..” She reached below her desk and pulled out a rose and surprise surprise, there was a letter attached to it. “Here you go.” She smiled as she handed it to me. “Thank you.” I smiled and took the gift.
‘Princesa,
Go get your nails done, baby. I took it upon myself to pay for you and your friends because why not? Everyone deserves to get pampered every once in a while… and plus, I love having your nails scratch down my back as I… well, you know ;) anyways, I’m counting down the time until I can see you. I hope you’re loving my little surprises for you. x’
“We’re getting our nails done, girls!” I spoke as they cheered. “We’re getting treated like queens today!” Cristina spoke as each of us sat down on the chairs. We got manicures and pedicures together as we gossiped about everything. I haven’t done this in a while with some friends and it honestly just felt so good to be able to see them and chat with them again. When we were done and we went back to Cristina’s car, I just had to ask again because now I’m getting really interested in what’s really going on.
“Okay, I’m gonna try again… where are we heading to next?”
“Girl, you know neither one of us are gonna tell you.”
“It’s a surprise!”
“But I really wanna know! I’m all anxious and excited now. Please? I’m dying to know!” They both shook their heads and got strapped in, as did I. “Man, y’all suck.”
“Yeah, but we both know who’s dick you’re sucking.” Alexis spoke as Cristina let out a loud laugh. “Oh, you bitch!” I laughed. “Shut up!”
-
“We’re going… shopping!” Cristina spoke as she parked her car. “Yes, because you need an outfit change.” Alexis said as we all got out of the car. “What? My outfit isn’t bad today.”
“No… but you’re gonna need one for what’s gonna happen later on.” We walked inside the building and went straight for the clothes. “Where is she?” I heard Cristina ask as we were walking through the aisles. “You looking for me?” We turned and saw Daniella standing behind us. “You guys took longer than I thought.”
“We got a little busy.” Alexis spoke as we all took turns greeting her. “This is for you.” She spoke as she gave me another rose and letter. “Oh my God, this doesn’t end.” I laughed and read the letter.
‘Bebecita,
You know you feel good on the inside when you look good on the outside. So, you can already tell where I’m going with this. Treat yourself with a brand new outfit and strut your stuff! I can’t wait to slip it off of you later ;) make it easy for me, yeah? I can just imagine how beautiful you look like right now. Don’t worry, baby. I’ll see you really really soon. These little surprises are almost over. I still have two more things up my sleeve. x’
“Okay, mission: help (Y/N) look sexy and cute as fuck tonight.” Cristina spoke as they all got to work to find the “perfect dress”. We looked through all of the pretty dresses the store had to offer until we had our own little stack of clothes in our hands. They brought me over to the fitting rooms and gave me a few dresses to try on. The conversations and comments went something like…
“It looks cute, but where are we gonna find shoes to match?”
“Hmm… it’s way too long. It’s like a curtain, no offence.”
“I like the color, but the design is ehh…”
“(Y/N), babe… it’s a no.”
“This one’s way too short. I mean, your ass looks great but this is not the right dress for this occasion.”
It was just an endless loop of me trying on a dress, them telling me different comments and I end up trying on something different. “I have a good feeling about the next one – I know it!” I walked back into the dressing room and slipped off the dress. I grabbed the next one off the hanger and tried it on.
“So, after this, do you wanna go and get some coffee together?”
“I had one before you got here.”
“What? Really?”
“Well, yeah! You guys were taking forever doing - … oh.. my.. God…” Daniella stopped speaking when she saw me get out of the room and walk in front of them. “What do we think?” I asked.
“You look so hot! Oh my – ”
“Yes! Yes! Yes!”
“Girl, you look amazing.”
I twirled around in the dress and laughed. “I love it. It’s so comfortable, it’s not too tight, not too short or long… it’s in our price range.” I smiled.
“He’s gonna be speechless when he sees you.” I went back into the changing room to put my regular clothes in a bag, I came out with the dress in my hands but I didn’t see Daniella anywhere. “Hey, where’s Dani?” I asked. “Oh, she went to the bathroom real quick. C’mon, let’s go and pay for the dress!” Cristina spoke as we started making our way to the cashier. “You guys really don’t have to do this. I have my card with me right now.”
“We know, but we’re buying it for you. I don’t want you to spend a single cent right now.” After having bought the dress, we waited off to the side for Dani to come with us. I looked over and saw her walking towards us with a bag in her hands.
“What’s this?”
She handed the bag to me and smiled. “A gift.” I shook my head. “Dani, this is so sweet but – ”
“You need shoes to match with that dress. It’s a gift from me to you. You can pay us back later some other day. I’m thinking breakfast.” She laughed as I took the bag in my hands. “Thank you.. all of you.” They are honestly the best friends a girl can ask for.
They took me to a bathroom somewhere in the store so I could try the whole outfit on together before we left to Cristina’s car. I feel good, I look good… I feel amazing right about now.
-
“Why did we stop here?” I asked as I took my flowers in my hands and got out of the car with them. “You’ll see.” Alexis spoke as we walked down the street until we stopped in front of a horse carriage. “Oh my God..” I muttered. “Hop in.” Cristina spoke as I stood in front of the three of them. “No way… he didn’t actually..” Daniella nodded as Alexis laughed. “Girl, just go in! He’ll take you where you need to go next.”
I turned and gave them all a hug before I hopped in. “If this is some type of trick..”
“It’s not! We promise!”
The man made sure I was safely strapped in and handed me a rose with a letter when he was done. “This is for you, Ms. (L/N).” He smiled and walked to the front of the carriage before hopping on himself.
‘Mi vida,
I know you’ve been waiting all day to see me. Well, now the time’s finally come. I can’t tell you how nervous I actually am to see you. Don’t ask me why just yet, you’ll see soon enough. Baby, this whole thing may be a little cliché, but I don’t care because I wouldn’t want to do this with anyone else but you. I’ve been planning this little adventure for a while now and all I can hope is that you’ll say “yes”. I love you, mi amor. I’ll see you in a few minutes. x’
Say “yes”? Say yes to what? I looked at the small bouquet of flowers in my hands and smiled. He’s honestly the sweetest and most romantic guy I’ve ever met. We continued on this little horse carriage ride for a few minutes, taking a little stroll around the town, until he came to a stop. “This is as far as I can take you, Ms.”
I got off the carriage and looked around and saw we stopped at a park. “Just follow the lights. He’s on the other side.” He smiled and trotted away.
There wasn’t really anyone at the park this late at night, but I followed the lights like he told me. I could hear hear soft music playing ahead of me, so I hurried along until I stopped at the entrance to a gazebo. There he was… standing there…
He turned around and looked at me, a flower in his hands and his mouth slightly open. “Mi amor… you look… gorgeous..” He held out his hand with the flower and I walked over to him and took it. “You don’t look too bad yourself.” I laughed as he slowly spun me around. I looked inside the gazebo and saw so many lights surrounding us. It looked so magical.
"Will you honor me with a dance?” He asked as he played a slow song for the two of us to dance to. “It would be my pleasure.” I smiled.
He placed one of his hands on my waist and brought me closer to him while his other hand held onto my own. I placed one of my hands on his bicep as he slowly led the two of us into a waltz. “So, what’s the occasion? I know it’s close to Christmas and all, but why did you do this?”
He spun me around and laughed. “Well, it’s a very special occasion if you ask me. In fact, it’s a really important one.”
“Really?” He nodded. “Tonight, hopefully, is the start of… a new beginning, if you will.” Confused, I tilted my head and looked up at him. “What do you mean?”
He waited a few moments before answering my question. “What – What I mean is… we’ve been together for a long time now. I’m lucky to be with someone who’s not only my girlfriend, but my best friend. You are just so amazing and I’m so happy I found you.” Heat spread across my face as he continued.
“Baby, I’ve been waiting to ask you something for a few months now…” We stopped dancing as he slowly got down on one knee and took out a small black velvet box. “Oh my God…”
“(Y/N), mi amor… you are the one person I want to wake up next to for the rest of my life. The one person who makes me a better person and can make me laugh whenever I’m upset. The one person I want to start a family with..” I can feel tears brimming from my eyes as I couldn’t believe this was actually happening. He opened the small box and inside was a ring.
“(Y/N)… quieres casarte conmigo?”
I nodded my head and spoke. “Yes.. yes, a hundred times yes in every language.” He smiled and slid the ring onto my finger, stood up, cupped my cheek and brought me up to his lips to meet me in a kiss.
“Te amo, mi amor… my fiancé…” He smiled and kissed me once more. “Te amo.”

White Wedding - Malcolm Whitly/Bright - Part 2
flightlessbirdie suggested a part two so here we go! She also suggested using the song, Jackie and Wilson by Hozier during the actual wedding. This part is told from y/n’s view.
Warnings: None, fluff, kissing the bride, cuteness
Who would have thought this would happen, you think to yourself, the grand double doors in front of you practically looming over you. That I would ever get married, much less to someone as great as Malcolm. You and Malcolm had a bit of time to warm up to each other, him being a profiler consultant for the police department at the time you joined the team had him put seniority over you. You and JT had clicked almost immediately, and that intimidated Malcolm, who spent months struggling to get JT to warm up to him, and you came along, this gorgeous goddess, and had JT laughing and bringing your favorite coffees to work every day.
He never told you, but he got jealous. He was weary of the newcomer being of any use to the team, but admired your friendliness and how easy victims and suspects warmed up to you to talk to you in interrogations. You were astounded at his ability to form a profile and find the person that you were looking for with such ease, almost like he was a serial killer himself.
You knew about his past, his father, and everything. You watched the documentary his sister had done on their father, watched with suspicion as the patient that screamed off camera about wanting to be filmed stab the man that held the camera, and watched with realization as Martin Whitly, stereotypical narcissist, swoops in and saved the day, saving the cameraman. You didn’t buy any of it. It was clear the man planned to get the cameraman injured to save his life, look like a hero on a documentary spent villianizing him.
When you finally met Malcolm, the Prodigal Son (Dani had mentioned he referred to himself that way before), you couldn’t see it. You saw the signs of course, of a broken man with horrors embedded deep in his mind, the horrible PTSD he still struggles with so many years later, but you didn’t see his father. You never saw his father in him, the man he fought so hard to rid himself of. You saw this unique man that was smarter than anyone combined, one you wanted to get to know.
So the first time Edrisa came in the room and flirted with Malcolm, blatantly flirted with, you were surprised by the glare radiating from your eyes, toward the sweet girl, and was seething when Malcolm blushed, looking away from her, towards you. A glare he didn’t miss, which made his eyebrows furrow, and caused him to make a mental note and investigate further.
Which he did, he would read on flirting, because this kid couldn’t remember the last time he needed to flirt, and would come into work, having memorized your coffee order off of JT, present you with the warm beverage, and kneel down to your eye level, and whisper, “You look gorgeous today” before winking, straightening himself back up, and disappearing, leaving you flushed, flustered, and smiling.
So you, one not known for stepping down from a challenge, decided to up the ante. You picked him up in the morning to go to work every day, the same time every morning, without fail. He insisted you didn't have to, knowing the route was out of the way for you, but you did it anyway. He'd leave his home, see you sitting on the hood of your car, smiling softly, holding out a caffeinated drink enough to keep any normal person awake for six years, but perfect for him.
You would pull him into a hug, linger a couple seconds too long, and he would be hyper aware of your breath on his ear, before you would pull away and climb into the car. He fell in love with you quickly after that.
You, however, took longer. He was obviously in love with you for months before you even realized his flirting wasn't jokes anymore. It took a night out with Dani for you to realize. She had to practically create a PowerPoint presentation for you to see it, and even then you didn't believe it. You were nowhere near as intellectual as Edrisa, who was constantly with him at the precinct, or as pretty as Dani, who he bonded with over time. You just couldn't see it, you couldn't see him as possibly available, so you avoided feelings as much as possible.
So it came as a surprise when you had to save Malcolm from having a gun against his temple, because of course only Malcolm, and your chest hurt from the fear of losing him. The fear of seeing defeat in his eyes. His never left your own, saying all the words he couldn't. "Y/n..." His voice whispered out, almost a good bye, and you pulled the trigger, barely avoiding Malcolm's own temple, embedding into the man behind him.
Malcolm didn't even jump when the suspect collapsed, the gun going with it. He didn't even look away or blink. So you dropped your own gun, and kissed him. Kissed him like his life depended on it, in a way, it sort of did.
The sound of the doors creaking open pulled you from your reverie, and there is Malcolm, standing there at the end of the aisle, looking as gorgeous and perfect as always. JT holds your arm as you walk down the aisle, your best friend as your father is no longer here to do so. He would never admit it but you can see his eyes glowing with tears.
You two make it to Malcolm, and JT sends you off with a, "you hurt her, your dead, Bright" to which Malcolm cracks a smile to, before nodding. "I'd rather jump off a bridge myself, JT." He responds.
The ceremony is quiet, only the voice of the wedding officiator, Ainsley Whitly, who went through the process to be able to do this, only for Malcolm and your wedding. "We will now hear their vows" she says, turning to her brother. "Malcolm?"
He takes a deep breath, and locks eyes with you, just like when he had a gun to his head, except this time he looks excited. "I spent months trying to think of what to say and write down," he begins, "but this isn't something you can prepare to say. Y/n, I love you. You have changed my world, and have treated me like my own person, not like I was my father's son. So.... Thank you." The crowd behind you two chuckle, and you smile warmly.
"y/n?" Ainsley asks.
"unlike this man," I shoot a look to the man in front of me, "I prepared my vows, because I suck at speaking. Malcolm Whitly, I can't believe it took us this long to get here. I've never felt this way about anyone before, but I'm glad I found you, and you found me. We saved each other, in more ways than anything and I can't thank you enough. I love you so much." He leans down to kiss you but Ainsley swats him on the arm, causing the crowd to laugh. "Not yet!"
So tired trying to see from behind the red in my eyes
No better version of me I could pretend to be tonight
So deep in the swirl with the most familiar swine
For reasons wretched and divine
Malcolm and you were an awe to be seen on the dance floor, your first dance together, and Malcolm had picked a song he feels went beautifully for your relationship, the woman that saved him.
She blows out of nowhere, roman candle of the wild
Laughing away through my feeble disguise
No other version of me I would rather to be tonight
Lord she found me just in time
He holds you close, singing the lyrics softly in your ear, drowning out the noise around you. He sounds like an angel, with so much confidence you'd think he wrote the lyrics himself.
'Cause with my mid-youth crisis all said and done
I need to be youthfully felt, 'cause God I never felt young
She's gonna save me call me baby run her hands through my hair
She'll know me crazy, soothe me daily, but yet she wouldn't care
We'll steal her Lexus, be detectives, ride round pickin' up clues
We'll name our children Jackie and Wilson, 'raise em on rhythm and blues
Lord it'd be great to find a place we could escape sometime
Me and my isis growing black irises in the sunshine
Every version of me dead and buried in the yard outside
Sit back and watch the world go by
Happy to lie back, watch it burn and rust
We tried to work, good God it wasn't for us
They don't hear anyone else anymore in the reception, can't see anyone else. All that is left is you and Malcolm, the Whitly's, the two that never let anything get in their way. It's now you two against the world.
She's gonna save me, call me baby, run her hands through my hair
She'll know me crazy soothe me daily but yet she wouldn't care
We'll steal her Lexus, be detectives, ride round pickin' up clues
We'll name our children Jackie and Wilson, raise 'em on rhythm and Blues
Cut clean from the dream that night, let my mind reset
Looking up from the cigarette, she's already left
I start thinking of the art for what's left of me and our little vignette
For whatever pour soul is coming next
She's gonna save me, call me baby, run her hands through my hair
She'll know me crazy soothe me daily but yet she wouldn't care
We'll steal her Lexus, be detectives, ride around pickin' up clues
We'll name our children Jackie and Wilson, raise 'em on rhythm and Blues
The song comes to a close and Malcolm ends the dance with you dipped, looking up at the man you chose to spend your life with. Your smiling at him and he's smiling at you. "We aren't naming our children Jackie and Wilson" You say as he pulls you up, kissing you.
He laughs and the sound is beautiful. "Of course not" he agrees, leaving his arms around you. "Mrs. Whitly"

"This plan is stupid." You said reading the note. "I dream about you every night.....seriously." You rolled your eyes. "That's not gonna sway her."
"All she probably wants to hear is how in love he is with her." Bobby said like it was obvious.
"Shhh." You and Bobby moved farther to the back of the library for a more discrete aisle.
"It will work." Bobby spoke once again.
"Are you kidding me? It's gonna take more then that. She's cold stone now."
"I guess you're right." He sighed leaning on the book shelf.
Your eyes wondered around thinking of another plan until one jumped out at you with a simple flyer. "Oh my god the Zeta Swing Charity, it's perfect."
"A blind date? That sounds pretty risky." He said.
"They just need a moment alone together. No other Kappas and Theatas showing each other off."
"What if they fight?"
"We'll watch them and make sure it's romantic." You smiled feeling hopeful.
"So how can we mess with the charity so we make sure they end up together?"
"We'll just distract the Zetas and take their donation." You shrugged. "Easy."
"In front of a whole party of people." He laughed. "Sure."
"But first, I need to get the insight of it. Meet you later?" He nodded and leaned in about to kiss you causing you to push him away. "Not here. Someone could see." You looked around.
"Fine." He mumbled and turned the other way.
....
"Hey, Dani?" You smiled seeing a Zeta. "What's up?"
"Hey (Y/N)." She looked at you confused from your approach. You never have really spoken before.
"I had a question about your charity. How does it work exactly?"
"Well whoever wants to buy a ticket gets a card and you fill it out of what your interest are and we sort them into different color buckets so we can match everyone up with a date."
"That's cool. Can I buy tickets for my Kappas?"
"Well, we'll be going door to door tomorrow so you don't need to right now."
"Oh okay." You tried not to sound disappointed. "When do you find out your date?" You asked.
"Saturday morning everyone will receive a card with an address on it for a date that night."
"Just an address?"
"Yeah. In this case we don't get any stand ups or refunds if they don't like who they get." She shrugged.
"Okay good to know."
This was gonna be harder then you thought. How were you gonna switch the tickets?
.....
"Will you please stop pacing?" Jennie was sitting on the bed across from you.
"I don't know how we are going to pull this off." You said biting your lip.
"Maybe we should just go back to plan A instead. Find out which senior is dating a Theata and then we can just take it from there."
"But we can't get any information from the Theatas because even they don't know and Jinu is not telling anyone, purposely for this reason and we can't get the information from the seniors because then Haeryung will get involved." You we're rambling.
"(Y/N) calm down. Take a breath. Everything will be fine." She started.
"Ladies!"
"Ugh." You both rolled your eyes and continued on your way downstairs.
"The Zetas are here if anyone wants to participate in their charity." They're here already? They said 11.
"It's $5 a card and we'll have you fill it out and we will set you up on a blind date." Faye spoke as the other kappas were blushing. "Who wants one?" She began and no one rushed into raise their hand or grabbing their wallets.
"Oh come on ladies. It's still the beginning of the school year. Non of you should have boyfriends or girlfriends yet." Mimi smirked.
"Can I make one small request?" Haeryung spoke up. "As you may know we do have our strict rules of no Theatas."
"We'll make sure none of you have a Theata no worries." The leader spoke.
"Alright ladies, go ahead." She smiled. "We must help out our fellow sisters."
Most of the girls got their card except you and Jennie. "Come on (Y/N) there is tons of hot not Theata boys out there."
"I can't think of dating right now, I'm working on my studies." You smiled.
"It's just one date, and it's for a good cause."
"Not thank you."
"We help out our fellow sisters."
"Well then I can just give them the $5 then. I don't need a card." You fought back.
"Sorry we can't accept it." Faye pursed her lips.
"I don't feel like going on a random date with a guy I don't know."
"We offer lgbt set up as well." Dani spoke.
"No, it's not that." You shook your head.
"Is it because you fell in love with a Theata and you're keeping it a secret?" Haeryung spoke making the room fall silent.
"No. I told you I'm not into dating right now." You stood your ground.
"Then explain the hickies on your neck." She sassed.
"What hickies?"
"Don't play dumb (Y/N). You obviously need to work on your makeup skills."
"Why are you calling out me? I'm not the only one who has hook-upped at a party."
"Okay, we aren't forcing anyone to play, it's no big deal." The Zetas we're caught in between.
"Fine I'll take one." You began causing Haeryung to look at you once again. "But you have to get one too."
She laughed. "I don't have time to date, I have tons of work I have to do."
"On a Saturday?" Jennie asked.
"This is a ticket to a date you probably couldn't even get on your own." You spoke up.
"Excuse me." She looked at you with hatred.
"Just look at you, you're too uptight, you obviously need to get laid." The rest of the girls giggled causing her to shy away and make her way out of the room.
"She'll take one." Mimi gave the money.
The rest of the girls were patting you on the back but you held that ticket in your hand with disappointment on your face. Now you had to go out with some random guy when you were suppose to be with Bobby watching over Haeryung and Seunghoon. Now what?
"That was awesome." Jennie laughed.
"Was I too harsh?"
"Nah, she'll get over it, let's go get the guys."
You got up to your bedroom and you immediately started to get undress as well Jennie.
"Woah woah wait." Bobby came out of your closet, scaring the both of you.
"What the fuck?" You said.
"Sorry." He looked guilty.
"How long have you been here?" Jennie asked picking up something off her desk.
"I just got here but you guys were no where to be found and I heard someone coming so I got scared and ran in the closet." He spoke.
"You picked a wrong time to sneak in. All the girls are on their way out." You started.
"Oh great. Then maybe we could stay here." He gave you a sly look but it soon changed once you looked at Jennie. She was reading some note, taking all her attention. "Um to look for clues or something."
"Jennie you okay?" You asked.
"Oh yeah. It's nothing."
"Oh hay, Hanbin said you two are hanging out today?"
"Yeah." She smiled. "I better get going." She grabbed a few things and made her way out.
"They are so cute." You smiled.
But as soon as that door shut Bobby was already leaning up on you kissing his favorite spot causing your most trouble in this damn house. "You need to stop being so messy, Haeryung's been noticing."
"Just tell her you have a boyfriend." He didn't stop causing you to lean against your dresser.
"I can't because she'll want detail: what's his name? Which fraternity? Etc."
"Tell her to mind her own business." He started pulling the straps of your shoulders.
"I can't, have you met her?" You said as his lips went down closer to the top of your breast.
"Fine, I'll find a new place then." His hands were exploring your body causing your head to fall back, soaking in the pleasure.
"She's up to something." You both stopped as you heard voices pass your room. "I'll catch her, just like that Jiyong trash."
Then you heard the front door shut. They must all be gone. "Jiyong is the girl Haeryung got kicked out."
"Great so she's going to frame me if she catches me or not."
"We won't let that happen. She will go on that date and they will click like old times and forget about you." Bobby reassured.
"I just need to make sure I can steal her card tomorrow morning." You said nervously.
"How did you get her to enter?"
"It's a long story." You bit your lip.
"You think everyone is gone?" He had his head leaning against the door.
"They should be." You said causing him to smile and quickly be at your side once again. "We can search her room." Your face lit up walking right passed him causing him to pout.
You opened the door and made your way down the hall. The house was completely silent so you knew it was vacant. You jiggled her handle and opened the door to a typical tidy room.
"She's such a princess." You rolled your eyes. "Be careful what you touch because she'll probably know."
You got down on her knees and searched under the bed first as Bobby was looking through her desk table.
"Not even a spec of dust under-here." You got up and began to search the closet. "Anything?"
"No, just a bunch of old photos."
"Nothing." You turned around and began checking her night stand. As soon as you opened the drawer you saw crap and more crap. You rummage through a little seeing nothing important until you hand felt something weird, like silicone. You pulled it out and screamed at the top of your lungs feeling disgusted.
"I touched it." You got up and ran to the bathroom scrubbing your fingers.
Bobby was alarmed from your sudden outburst and looked where you were searching. His worried expression quickly to a devious smirk followed by a chuckle.
He closed the drawer and made sure the room was left the way it was and made his way to the bathroom where you were drying your hands.
"Thought she was too pure for that." You spoke causing Bobby to laugh.
"Maybe we're being too harsh. She's probably not much different then us."
You laughed at him with pure sarcasm and your eyes glanced down to what he was holding. "What's that?"
"Oh I found this ritual book." You rolled your eyes and grabbed it.
"Oh my god, this is the kappa nu student handbook." You quickly looked through it.
"You don't have one?" He asked.
"Well we have a printable, but this is the actual book." You we're flipping page by page. "Ah here it is. No theatas."
"Really." He looked next to you. "It's hand written though. Meaning it's a forgery."
"Well we can't know for sure by this copy, we need to look in the actual copy that is probably in the Deans office."
"Okay." He shrugged. "Well just have Dk steal it."
"I don't want to risk anyone getting in trouble."
"Dk can't get in trouble, his father is the Dean. He didn't even want to go to this school."
"Alright." You agreed but were still feeling uneasy. "I just wish there was a better way."
You we're starring at Bobby trying to think of something. "I wonder if Jinu has ever snuck in here." Your eyes light up. "We need to check the other seniors rooms. T-they could have evidence of Jinu."
Your we're speaking so fast You we're sure if Bobby could even understand you. You ran to Jeonghwa's room first. You felt a bigger suspicion with her more then Mimi because it seemed that Mimi was more of a dedicated minion to Haeryung then her. You began to check everything quickly once again, bed, closet, etc.
"I think it would be too easy if she had evidence lying around." Bobby said already giving up.
"Yeah. It has to be Jeonghwa though. I'm sure of it."
"We can steal her phone...wait, I'll steal Jinu's phone." He shrugged. "He'll probably won't be as discrete with his."
"This is nuts. We are going through so much to uncover a secret that will be over at the end of the school year. Maybe we should just wait it out."
"What about the Juniors who will be your seniors next year." He asked.
"I don't know, maybe they won't be as cruel." You sighed.
"So being a secret is going to be tough." He started.
"I know but we'll just be careful."
"That's not going to work." He started to smirk.
You just stared at him with confusion. "I don't know how I'm going to control myself around you in public."
"It's not like we aren't going to see each other." He was climbing over you causing you to lay back on Jeonghwas bed.
You giggled as he started to kiss down your neck once again. "I won't be able to hold your hand or kiss you in public."
"You can managed." You began playing with his hair behind his head.
He brought his lips up to yours as his hand started working it's way up your shirt. He was grinding against you, feeling every inch of him.
"You that turned on already."
"Well you teased me earlier." He said kissing down your chest on the outside of your shirt until he pushed it up revealing your exposed chest. He was sucking on the one and playing with the other. You couldn't help the moans escape your mouth causing him to be more excited.
You reached for the waistline of his jeans, blushing from his erection bulging through. You reached down to unbuckle his jeans and began palming him on the outside of his boxers causing him to stop kissing you and pause in his track. You bit your lip from how weak he was against your touch. He leaned down farther kissing you once again as you continued pulling him out properly.
"Do you have- Wait a minute." You looked around the room, forgetting where you were. "Shit, this is Jeonghwa's room and she'll know-"
You both froze from the front door suddenly opening. "Fuck fuck fuck....get up." You panicked and quickly got out of Jeonghwas room. You stood at the corridor seeing Mimi place her keys down on the table with her face in her phone. You pushed Bobby to go into your room but the commotion sent her eyes up to you.
"Hey." You smiled nervously.
"Aren't you suppose to be on the quad with the rest of the girls?" She asked.
"I wasn't feeling too well." You lied.
"It's not contagious is it?" She made a look at you.
"No just a migraine."
"I have a question." You started again as she was about to enter her room.
"What?"
"As sisters we're suppose to be honest with each other right?"
"Yes of course." She said but you can tell she was confused.
"I just feel like sometimes seniors Haeryung and Jeonghwa are keeping secrets." You said as innocent as possible. "Maybe that's why they're so against me."
"They aren't against you." She said reassured. "And you can keep your personal life to yourself if that's what you wish but you should know that we are sisters and we are always there for each other if you want to share anything, and no judgement."
"So we can keep secrets?"
"If it's not hurting anyone or yourself then why not? Everyone has secrets, doesn't mean you are a bad person."
"I hope Haeryung and Jeonghwa feel that way." You said trying to sway.
"Like I said, everyone has secrets, they don't wish to share."
She entered her room and closed the door behind her. You went back to your room disappointed as Bobby was waiting for you on your bed.
"Nothing. She admitted they are hiding something but got nothing." You sighed.
"You don't think It's Mimi do you?"
"Who's dating Jinu? I don't think so, she never leaves Haeryung side most of the time. It's Jeonghwa who is always out and doing something."
"But her room had no evidence."
"Maybe she knows Haeryung checks our rooms when we aren't here and doesn't want to get caught."
"She snoops through your room?" Bobby asked almost annoyed.
"That night you snuck through my window, she entered my room and was surprised I was there. She said she collects all the laundry but it's probably an excuse to snoop."
"If I were you I would leave while I still can." He teased.
"I wish. My mom loves this place." You laughed.
You heard Mimi's door close once again and open the bathroom door followed by the splashing sound of the shower.
"I guess she's not leaving anytime soon." You giggled.
You got up and looked out your door to the empty hall. You closed it once again and locked it.
"Let's finish." You smirked and noticed Bobby about to get up. You pushed him back down and got down on your knees in front of him, taking him by surprise.
You noticed his bulge still visible from before and continued pulling him out once again, right where you left off. You immediately stated to pump him causing him to bite his lip.
You leaned down bringing your mouth to his member kissing the tip. He was getting harder by the second. When you started to bring your mouth farther down, his breathing picked up. You bobbed your head at a teasing pace. He closed his eyes and his head leaned back weakly.
He started letting out soft moans making you smile against him. When you brought your head back up you noticed how red his tip was that you knew he wasn't going to last long. You started to suck as far as you would allow yourself and stroked the remains with your hands.
"Fuck, you're good at this." He said looking at you weakly.
You blushed and pulled him out of your mouth but continued stroking as you kissed up the sides. You continued to suck one last time because you knew any minute he was gonna crumble. You could tell by his lack of staying still was the signal. He moved your hair out of the way and couldn't help but play with it. He was a moaning mess that you were lucky the shower was still going unless Mimi would clearly hear him.
At the point you felt him twitch and release inside you. He collapsed back laying on your bed as you continued cleaning up the mess.
"Let's get out of here." You suggested. "Let's meet up with Jennie and Hanbin." You said already getting ready.
"Sure." He was still wiped out on your bed. "Or we can just stay here."
"Not as long as Mimi is prancing around the place."
"Fine." He got up putting himself together.
-
"What's wrong?" You asked Jennie as she was getting ready.
"Nothing." She smiled. "Just tired."
"Oh okay. Well I switched the cards so Haeryung will being going on a date with Mr. Theata Leader." You felt so achieved. "Can't wait."
"Aren't you suppose to go on a date also. How will you see how things go?"
"Shit, I forgot. How am I gonna tell Bobby?" You felt timid all over again.
"I'm sure he will understand."
You were ready to go and already started texting him. You went downstairs as the other girls were about to leave to follow the address on their given card.
"I better have gotten someone who cares about his grades and also looks handsome." Sorry to disappoint you. "Good luck (Y/N) on your date. Maybe you'll meet a nice guy who isn't into foreplay as much as you."
You rolled your eyes at her followed by a genuine smile. "I hope you have a great time on your date Haeryung. Hopefully you will have a date who actually knows what fun is."
You looked through your phone once again and saw no text back from Bobby. What if his phone is dead and he thinks you stood him up? You thought of the worst.
You noticed your address was the cute little restaurant on the other side of the school. It was known for its very romantic setting and intimate surroundings. You waited outside as long as possible before you were forced to go in.
You got to your assigned table and noticed a guy already seated at the table. Once he saw you he stood up and bowed. "You must be my blind date."
"Nice to meet you." You tried not to sound so rushed but you wanted to sit down for a few and fake sick or something to get you out of there. You both exchanged names and just sat down awkwardly. The most annoying part was the seating area was round booths so you were forced to sit on the same side as him.
"So what made you want to join in the charity."
"Just helping out fellow Sorority sisters." You pursued your lips. You tried to avoid eye contact as much as you could and keep your eyes glued in the menu.
"You ready to order?"
"Just a water please." You said speaking before him.
"Yeah same." You handed the menus back.
Once the waitress was gone he scooted closer to you and reached for your hand which you quickly pulled away.
"Look, I only did this charity to help out, I'm not looking for a relationship."
"We can take it slow if you want."
You just laughed and shook your head staring at the different tables. You tried to be as sweet as possible but you were too uncomfortable.
"This is a nice restaurant they've chosen." He tried to make small talk but you just nodded.
You felt him lean in closer once again and didn't try to come off as bitchy but you wanted to just take off. This guy clearly wasn't getting the message. You felt his hand caresses your exposed thigh and tried to make its way up your skirt. You jumped away and he looked at you with confusion.
"I told you I'm not looking for a relationship."
"Okay. But doesn't mean we have to waist this date." He leaned down trying to kiss your neck and this time you were out of the booth and out the door.
You went outside quickly and grabbed your phone and still saw no text from Bobby.
"Hey I'm sorry, can we start over?" The guy followed you.
"I already have a boyfriend alright." You raised your voice.
"I'm sorry I'm just confused. I understand you want to help with the charity but why for blind dating. This is suppose to be a set up for people who are looking for relationships." He started getting angry.
"You're right. I shouldn't have."
"Hey, I'm sorry for sounding like a jerk but it's pretty fucked up if you ask me." The raised his voice. "All you sorority girls are the same, think you rule the school and can walk all over the place but all of you are just selfish and stuck up and don't give a shit about anyone but yourselves." You we're silent as he attacked you.
"I'm stuck up? You were practically dry humping me in there when I moved away from you twice. You're disgusting."
"That's another thing all of you are teases and slu-" Then next thing you knew he hit the floor from the powerful swing of a right hook. The guy stood back up and took off.
"What the fuck are you doing here with that guy?"
"Bobby? I tried texting you."
"I was worried I was going to be late so I left and forgot my phone but you never showed up." He was angry.
You didn't know if he was angry from before the dumb guy attacked you or after.
"I'm sorry I couldn't-"
"You entered the charity?" Then it was worse from the look he was giving you. Betrayal.
"Haeryung made me. It was the only way she would enter."
"Doesn't mean you had to show up."
"I wasn't gonna do anything, I was gonna say hi and leave but the guy ended up being a creep."
He sighed but you could tell he believed you. "I'm so sorry." You wrapped your arms around him and looked up and pouted. "Please forgive me, I'll do anything you want."
"Let's just....get out of here." He tried to leave but you still had him locked down around your arms. "(Y/N) come on."
"Not yet." You leaned your head against his chest, embracing into his warm touch. Then you looked up once again, kissing him tenderly.
"So how did the date go?" You asked as you both were walking to his fraternity, hands interlocked.
"Well...." He started and you knew it didn't go well. "First the dumbass was late, and once he got there he laughed and her face turned so red. It was hilarious. She thought the whole thing was a joke. She got up and he eased her to sit back down but they basically fought the whole time. They were talking about their past and how much a jerk he was and it ended with her throwing her water in his face."
"She didn't even give him a chance?"
"No. Sorry." He said. "Look I know you want to expose Jeonghwa and Jinu but I feel bad about it. Jinu is a good guy and I just don't want their relationship to get ruined because of us."
"You're right. We'll just leave them alone. I guess It's time for Plan C. Sneak into the Deans office and find the official Handbook."
....
"Hey have you guys seen Jennie, she won't response to my text." Hanbin spoke as soon and you and Bobby went through the door.
"She was out earlier maybe she's back home and resting. She's been a little down lately." You said.
"I should go anyway, it's almost curfew. I'll tell her to call you." You said kissing Bobby goodbye.
You walked the short distance to your house and made your way inside. You saw the girls watching a movie in the living room and saw no sigh of Haeryung. Where was she?
You continued walking upstairs and entered your room, surprised it was completely dark. "Jennie? You here?" You blindingly made it the light switch turning it on.
You turned back and saw no sign of Jennie and what's worse was her side of the room was completely empty. Her closet was open with dangling hangers empty, drawers opened and vacant as could be. Your heart was racing as you went over to her bed seeing nothing left but a note.
I, sister Haeryung and the rest of our Kappa Nu sisters are sorry to inform you, sister Kim Jennie have been banished from Kappa Nu Sorority. You have failed to abide our rules and not only have you been warned but failed to take matters in your own actions. It's best to pack your stuff as soon as possible and continue on your way. Best of luck in the future and hope no harm comes to you and your further here at Seoul University. Sister Haeryung.
You threw down the notes and paced back and fourth before marching to your door. As you were about to open the door you saw a white envelope on the floor from being slid underneath. You picked it up and opened the letter as the words were too familiar.

platonic kiss (sam and dani, just because)
KISSING  MEME  PROMPTS:
“Oh thank God there YOU are!”
Dani reached out to grab his face, pulling him in before pressing a kiss to his cheek. It wasn’t like she had thought he wasn’t going to show up, but today had been exciting enough, she didn’t need to WORRY about whether or not her best friend was going to show up in time to walk her down the aisle.
A few years back she hadn’t even THOUGHT that marriage would be in the cards for her, but then Santana had stumbled into her life and turned it upside down, in the best way of course. Fast forward a couple of years and now they were here, about to get married. Dani couldn’t be HAPPIER, but she also found herself feeling more nervous than she had ever been.
“So. Huh. What do you think?” She then asked, pulling back to to a quick do a turn, so he could get a good view of her dress. “Does it look OKAY?”

A gift for @dykeyfangs from @motherfuckingmagicbrian!
I loved writing this, and I’m a sucker for happy endings. Happy Candlenights!
Summary
It’s winter in Kepler. Snow is on the ground and people spend most of their time in hearth warmed homes. But smoke isn’t the only thing in the air. The Amnesty Lodge residents are getting ready for a wedding. A little set up to the happiest day of Aubrey and Dani’s lives.
Aubrey
“Alright now Aubrey just calm down.”
Aubrey was pacing barefoot in the snow. She danced a small flame between her fingers and watched as her crystal breath caught the warm light.
“How’d you even know I was out here?”
She looked up at Mama, also dressed in pajamas, but with the good sense to be wearing a warm leather duster and boots, leaning on a carved wooden cane.
“Aubrey, honey, you’re glowing like a Christmas tree and there’s a trail of melted snow in the shape of foot prints all the way from the lodge. You ain’t exactly conspicuous. Now, wanna tell me what’s the fuss?”
“Oh you know, tomorrow is supposed to be the happiest day of my life and I’m afraid I’m going to mess everything up. How are you?” She chuckled awkwardly at the end, but her voice was tense.
Mama guffawed, almost doubling over.
“Aubrey Little, savior of two worlds, done in by a little pre-wedding jitters?”
“It’s not funny!” She threw her hands in the air and paced faster. “What if I get cold feet? I could leave and not come back, how could I do that to Dani? I love her.”
Mama clamped a hand down on Aubrey’s shoulder, rooting her in place.
“Aubrey, look at me. The only cold feet you’ve got are the ones pacing shoeless in the snow. Tell me, are you actually thinking about up and leaving?”
“No! I would never-“
“Then what are you worried about?”
She stopped fidgeting for a moment, looking up at Mama.
“I……I don’t know. Sometimes it feels like if I’m this happy, something will go wrong.”
“And if it does?”
“What?”
“And what if something goes wrong? What if out of nowhere aliens invade, what will you do?”
She stuttered for a second. “Well I guess, we did it last time. We can handle it and kick ass.”
“You hear that Aubrey, We, even under pressure you’re not thinking about yourself. I have full confidence that even if the world was ending again, you’d be right there by her side. You’re not one to run away in the of danger. You really think you’d chicken out on a wedding?”
Aubrey stood in stunned silence. And then all the worry and tension drained out of her. She laughed in relief and it was like the cold actually caught up with her. She rubbed her hands together and shivered.
“I think you’re right. Even when the world was ending all I thought about was her. Can you believe I get to marry her?”
“I can.” Mama took off her coat and wrapped it around Aubrey, then gently cuffed her face with one hand. “What I can’t believe is you standing out here playing at Frosty the Snowman. Now let’s get inside. I need my beauty rest if I’m to be walking Dani down that aisle tomorrow.”
Aubrey, engulfed in Mama’s jacket, opens her arms for a hug, and Mama pulls her to her chest.
“Thanks Mama.”
“I love you Aubrey. Dani too. And I’m so happy for you both. Come on.”
And together they headed inside.
Wedding Prep
“Larry, Curly, Moe, do you three know what you’re doing?”
“Who?” Jake looked up in confusion, he was sitting on the floor, folding cloth napkins into little rabbits for the reception.
“Never mind, it’s a reference. Besides the point. Are y’all ready?” Mama sighed and looked at the half set up room.
She had tasked Jake, Barclay, and a tag-along Stern with turning the Amnesty Lodge parlor into a wedding venue. So far they’ve managed to align all the couches and dining chairs into a bisected audience. At the moment Jake was sitting on the carpet, Barclay was on a ladder stringing lights and a flower garland in the rafters, and Stern was acting as spotter. And then Barclay looked sheepishly down from the ladder.
“Well, about that…”
“Barclay so help me if the next words outta your mouth ain’t ‘Everything is perfectly fine and this wedding will go off without a hitch.’ I’ll push you off the ladder myself.”
“Everything is perfectly fine and this wedding will go off without a hitch. But, I may have forgotten to become a wedding officiant.”
“If my hair wasn’t already gray already it would turn so for the stress you cause me. How did you forget to become a wedding officiant?” Mama pinched the bridge of her nose with her free hand.
“Alright now Mama, hear me out.”
“I’m a listening.”
“I just got so wrapped up in preparing for the Sylvan ceremony I kinda forgot about the Earth one. So I am technically ready for a wedding, just uhh, not this one.”
“Barclay are you telling me that we have no one to make the marriage official in legal terms? Ya’know here in Kepler, on Earth, where Aubrey’s from? Where we currently are?”
“Oh if you just need a justice of the peace or something I can just step in for the pesky signing of the certificate and verifying witnesses and such.” Stern piped up cheerily from the bottom of the ladder. He looked a little out of place without the suit and badge, but amazingly comfortable is a sweater and button up.
“What’s that now Joseph?” Mama was incredulous to say the least.
“Yeah I can legally marry people. Wouldn’t be my first time either. Besides the point really. Barclay can do all the ‘I do’s’ and the speech and all, and I step in for a bit of paperwork and the whole thing can carry on, tidy and such.” He smiled in a very sure of himself manner.
“Dare I ask why this is a thing you can do?”
“Why didn’t I know you could do this?” Barclay was mock betrayed atop the ladder
“Oh well, it started with an undercover mission-”
“Actually nope, not important. Don’t wanna know. Just make sure nothing else goes wrong ya hear me. I gotta go check with the caterer make sure they ain’t putting bacon in the collards. Don’t burn this place down.” Mama finished her thought with a tap of her cane on the ground and left the room.
“Should we tell her about the flowers?” Jake looked up at Barclay and Stern, who answered together.
“NO!”
“I was just asking.”
Dani
“Are you ready darlin?”
Mama knocked on the door frame with her cane. Her casual duster and jeans traded for a deep green suit, but the sturdy hiking boots stayed the same. Her hair was down in two neat braids framing her face. Dani was fidgeting in front of a full length mirror. She was in a loose white jumpsuit that left her arms bare. The legs were embroidered with a shimmery orange thread and a vine blooming with flowers climbed up to the bodice. Her hair was braided back with small pink flowers. Up her arms were gold cuffs and bracelets. She’s fiddling with her rings. One on each hand. She was slipping them on and off and watching herself change in the mirror. Only one actually did something though, her disguise making her look human. Hiding her bright eyes and sharp teeth. The other was more of a change to be.
Aubrey proposed with a toy ring she got out of a gachapon machine in the mall. Dani was distracted by some toys in the pet shop window, trying to keep Dr Harris Bonkers from escaping her arms to wreck havoc. They were back in Kepler for a few days visiting Mama and Duck and wanted to spend some time goofing off. And then Aubrey tapped her on the leg. She was down on one knee struggling to pop open the little capsule.
“Hold on, give me a second. Guess I should have opened it before I made you turn around.” The cap came off with a triumphant pop and clattered to the floor. She pulled out a cheap ring with a red fake gem flower. “Ok well I was hoping for the heart shaped one but this will work. Dani would you make me the happiest person to ever save not one, but two whole worlds? Please.”
Dani started giggling.
“Don’t laugh at me!” But Aubrey was laughing too.
Dr Harris Bonkers slipped on to the floor and stood watching them. Dani knelt down to Aubrey both shaking with laughter.
“Of course I’ll marry you. You’re my home.”
Dani was holding both rings in the palm of her hand. After a moment she slipped the engagement ring back on her finger. She gently placed the other ring down on the desk in front of her.
“Mama, I’ve never been more ready in my life.”
“I’m glad to hear.” She smiled from the doorway. “Care to lend your ear for a second? I got something you may wanna hear.”
“Of course, what is it?”
Mama walked over to the bed and took a moment to sit down the patted the spot next to her. Dani sat down lightly and Mama gently held her hands.
“I have known you for as long you’ve been here in Kepler. And it has been a pleasure. A pleasure to know you and to watch who you’ve become here. You’ve always been a dear around the lodge, offering to clean or cook for Barclay. Not only that but you were here helping every new Sylph refugee who crossed through the archway. Do you remember when Jake crossed over? You couldn’t have been here more than two months and there you were, chomping at the bit to get him settled. Hell, you were the one to introduce him to the Hornets and that Hollis kid. And now you’re back on Sylvain helping folks over there. What I’m getting at is that you are a truly wonderful person. Who you are, right now, in every aspect, is truly one of the best folks around. I want you to know this. And I want you to be happy as you are.” Mama held Dani’s face in her hands, wiping a tear away with her thumb. “Save those tears for the wedding, alright?”
Dani nodded and wiped another tear away.
“I love you Mama.”
“I love you too Dani.”
“Are you ready?”
“I’ve never been more ready in my life, Dani.”
Wedding Bells
Amnesty lodge didn’t look like a whole new place, but it was still magical. A garland of lights and flowers was strung from the rafters. All the chairs and couches were lined up with an aisle between them and they were packed. All the lodge residents who stayed were there, and a few who came back just for the wedding, like Vincent and Alexandra. The Hornets were wearing what could only be presumed as their best, unripped jeans and the occasional button up shirt. Hollis was chastising Keith with a hat they had clearly just snatched from his head. Juno and Minerva were both dressed in ranger uniform, either because they collectively deemed it wedding attire or they were fresh off the plane. Thacker was talking to Sheriff Owens, Kirby and company, using a walking stick to emphasize a story wildly, going right through Deputy Dewey. Stern, Jake, and Barclay were in different stages of formal dress. Stern overdressed in a tuxedo, and Jake pulling at a bow tie. Barclay looked nice in a blazer and tie, with a not so classy bigfoot pattern on it.
And then in walked Aubrey. She was wearing a short, poofy, and sleeveless white dress, fishnets, and always combat boots. Her dress had the same orange flowers embroidered up the skirt and bodice as Dani’s jumpsuit. And hanging from her neck, as solid as a memory, was the Flamebright pendant. Sylvain wasn’t the only one with her walking down the aisle, Duck had an arm linked through hers. He, at least, was wearing a suit. When they reached the altar he gave her hand a quick pat. A little reassurance, but also to squash a flame staring on her bouquet. Even before Dani walked in Aubrey had tears in her eyes. And then Mama was walking Dani down the aisle, and Dani too had tears in her eyes. As soon as they were settled there was a rapid pat pat pat of little feet down the aisle, as Dr Harris Bonkers ran in as ring bearer. Now they were ready.
It is sunrise at amnesty lodge. Light spills over the Monongahela forest. Somewhere in the woods, the remains of an archway remembers moon light. Snow catches the fresh snow and it’s almost like the world is on fire. But for now, it is safe. Inside the lodge there is a wedding going on, and a town, no, a family is celebrating.
“We are gathered here today…”

Well That’s Embarassing
Summary: Mox goes to the mall with his girlfriend but quickly grows bored. Luckily, they have a game they play sometimes where they try to embarrass each other in public.
Pairing: Jon Moxley x OC (Dani)
Word Count: 1500+
Warnings: False, humorous accusations of kinks and medical issues? It’s an odd one, feel free to message me if you have concerns. The whole premise is them saying fake things in public to embarrass each other so it gets pretty silly.
Author’s Note: Hey, I’m alive! Well obviously I am, I have been reblogging stuff but I wrote a thing! Wow! Thanks to @kingcorbean and @vonschweetz for their help in it <3 The post that gave me the initial idea is at the very end.
Also apparently in the time I’ve been gone they took away line breaks? Gross.
I don’t have any tag list anymore it’s been eons, but I’m also tagging @robwiethoff because I love her.
Tumblr media
“Please?”
“No.”
“Please?”
“Just go by yourself.”
“But that’s not as fun.”
“So?”
A groan was his only warning before his lap was suddenly occupied. Dani’s legs hung over the arm of the chair he was sitting in as her arms wrapped around his shoulders. He made a show of it, letting a woosh of air escape as if she had knocked the wind out of him - she couldn’t knock the wind out of him even if she tried, he was used to being tackled by men 3 times her size.
“C’mon Mox.” She pouted at him.
“I don’t want to go to the mall.” He told her plainly, his face unamused even as he wrapped his arms around her waist. He might not be interested in going to the mall, but he’d never be upset about his girl in his lap.
“Jon.” She whined, dragging out his name. He responded by mocking her, whining wordlessly back at her. She tried to fight back the laughter at his girlish noise but a small smile broke through.
“Just go to the mall. Take my card, get whatever you want.” He offered.
“But who will tell me if I look good if you’re not there?” She huffed, leaning into his chest.
“Someone who works there.” He shrugged.
“They tell you look good in everything so you buy more.”
“They’re right, you do look good in everything.”
“Jon.” She whined again, adding a wiggle of her hips for good measure.
“You really want me to go?” He sighed.
“Yes.” She sat up, smiling brightly at him.
“You want me to go, be miserable, make fun of all the stores we go into, and sit around while you try on clothes?” He reiterated, trying to make her reconsider.
“Yes.”
“You want me to complain the whole time we’re walking around, asking how much longer until we can leave, reminding you every 5 minutes that you owe me big time?”
“Did I mention I’m stopping at Victoria’s Secret?”
“Why didn’t you say so, woman?!” His entire demeanor changed, perking up at the thought. He tightened his arms around her as he stood, picking her up. She laughed as he started walking towards the garage. “Let’s go to the mall!”
It didn’t take long for Moxley to grow bored of the mall as Dani wanted to stop in at several other stores before Victoria’s Secret. They were in some home decor store when he decided to try and hurry it along. He saw a horse figurine and picked it up before calling her name loudly.
“Hey Dani, we should get this for your sister. You know, the one that likes to fuck horses.” He spoke loudly, making sure any shoppers in the area could hear.
Dani’s eyes widened at first before narrowing, knowing exactly what game they were about to be playing. They’d done this a million times before, trying to embarrass the other in public for fun.
*****
The airport was busy around them as they said goodbye. Dani was used to him leaving to go back on the road, but it was harder now that he was wrestling in Japan. It was so much farther, the time difference was huge. He was going to be gone for almost a whole month before he got a chance to come visit.
“I gotta go.” He spoke softly, the moment just for them in the hustle and bustle of the airport.
“I know.” She admitted sadly, tears threatening to spill over as she loosened her grip on him.
“I’ll call every day.” He promised.
“You better or I’ll fly there to kick your ass.” She threatened weakly.
“If that’s the case, maybe I won’t call.” He teased, making her laugh softly.
“Don’t you dare.” She pouted, pulling him in for a quick kiss.
“Miss you already.” He murmured against her lips.
“Miss you more.” She replied, reluctantly releasing her hold on him.
“I love you.”
“I love you too. Let me know when you land.”
“Always do.” He pecked her on the lips once more before joining the line through security.
Dani brushed away at the tears that had started to fall, cursing herself for being so emotional as she watched him progress through the line. She was happy for him, this is what he wanted to do. He was happy and healthy, he had a spark he’d been missing for years.
“Hey Jon!” She called out to him, refusing for their good bye to be so mushy. “Take care of that rash, okay!”
He grinned, taking a few steps forward as the line moved. “Okay, but remember to wipe front to back while I’m gone.” He called back.
Dani laughed, seeing the shocked and disgusted looks on the people around him in line. “I will. Your hemorrhoid cream is packed in your carry-on. Take care of your butthole.”
“Thanks for letting me borrow it.” He answered as he moved to the front of the line. He lowered the shades he was wearing to wink at her before stepping into the area where she couldn’t see him anymore.
*****
“No, no. She didn’t fuck a horse. She said that being with another man after you was *like* fucking a horse.” Dani shot back. “Because of your tiny penis.”
“Your mom didn’t think it was tiny.” He shrugged, setting the figurine back on the shelf.
“My dad had a micropenis, I wouldn’t trust her.” Dani responded flippantly as she continued to browse.
By the time he had his comeback loadad, asking her how she knew, she’d already moved to the next aisle.
Point Dani. Game on.
...
“I don’t care if you consent, I’m not putting all of these candlesticks in your ass.”
Point Mox.
...
“Oh, we need to get some puppy pads. I’m tired of cleaning your explosive diarrhea out of the carpet.”
Point Dani.
...
“This dress would look really nice on you, but it might show off all those boils you’re trying to hide.”
Point Mox.
...
“I’m not comfortable bringing any blow-up holiday decorations into the house until you can promise you’re not going to try to have sex with it.”
Point Dani.
...
It carried on throughout several stores and it didn’t speed up their shopping at all, but at least Moxley was having fun now. By the time they made it to the final stop, his arms were full of bags from the other stores. His annoyance of being dragged along and having to carry all Dani’s bags lessened as he wondered what in the store Dani was going to be trying on.
“You can go set those down and sit in the boyfriend chair if you want.” She told him with a peck to his cheek. Mox nodded and headed to the back of the store where he’d find the chair. He stopped a few racks away from Dani as he saw a display mannequin wearing a lacy blue thing with straps all over the place.
“How about this?” He pointed it out to her, wiggling his eyebrows.
Dani dropped the bra she was looking at and came to see what he was pointing out. She looked it over, feeling the fabric between her hands. “It’s nice,” she agreed, “but the last time you wore lace you complained about the chafing.” She smirked.
Before he could respond, she shot him a challenging look and picked one up off the table, the look clearly saying that if he wanted her to try it on, he should accept the defeat. He kept his mouth shut, not entirely sure who won the point considering he was walking away quite happy with himself.
After browsing, Dani made her way to the change room to try things on. She stepped out of the room to get his opinion on a few of them (his opinion always varying degrees of “yes get it” and “wow that’s hot”) but kept a few for later surprises. When she left the change room ready to buy, she had an armful of multicolored garments, lace and silk and cotton all mixed in.
Moxley stood behind her while the items were being scanned and bagged. He was happy to notice the strappy blue piece made the cut - she hadn’t let him see it on so it must be good.
“I’m going to rip that off of you with my teeth.” He claimed happily as he watched the piece being folded gently. Dani looked back at him in surprise while the cashier turned pink at the declaration.
“Stop it, that’s embarrassing.” Dani admonished with a gleam in her eye. “You’re my brother, you need to stop saying things like that.”
Mox sputtered as the cashier looked up in shock at the two of them. The poor woman quickly looked back down and focused on finishing the transaction. She took the credit card without looking either of them in the eye, running off as soon as she handed Dani her bags. Dani handed them off to a still shocked Moxley, who followed her dumbly out of the store.
“You okay back there?” Dani finally asked once they had passed a few stores, looking back over her shoulder at him.
“You’re gonna pay for that,” was the only thing he could think to say.
“I assumed I would.” She shrugged coyly as she slowed down to walk beside him.
“Tonight.” He promised.
“I’ll be the one in blue.”
