An attempt at a Elvis x Reader drabble

Summary -> In private Elvis was your loving husband and you were his doting wife, but in public Elvis was Elvis Presley, and you were just the wife. Unfortunately, sometimes that public dynamic would follow the two of you home, making way for arguments.

Warnings -> Jealousy, marital dissatisfaction, arguments, very cute and domestic 1st scene though, if you only want some pure fluff read that first scene it's adorable, denial of sex, yelling, swearing, flirty fans, circa 1956, Elvis' confusion leads to anger, Elvis is such a cutie I can't even be mad at him in this. Elvis is also a dad in this because I felt like it.

Elvis leaned into your hand that cupped his cheek which was smooth from being freshly shaved.

"Now,"

You reached down for the comb on the hotel suite's bathroom counter, holding it casually between two fingers. While you smiled up at him your thumb stroked his cheekbone gently as you asked,

"Would ya hold still so I can fix that mess of hair?"

Elvis laughed softly and turned his cheek slightly to press his lips on your palm, smirking sweetly as he murmured against the skin,

"Sure thing Mama…"

With a smile you stilled his head by keeping your hold on his cheek, tapping it lightly you signaled for him to get lower, which he complied with as he bent his knees slightly, lowering himself to a height that you could see the top of his hair better.

As you neatly combed the gelled mess back into place you mumbled fondly,

"See what happens when a man fusses over his appearance? Just makes it worse, you men, so reckless with your hands…"

He asked testily with a smirk,

"And when a woman fusses over her appearance?"

You simply responded with one last perfecting swoop of the comb,

"Women don't fuss."

He drawled out a sarcastic, "Mhm…"

To which he was answered with a pointed, "Mhm."

After feeling pleased with your work you placed the comb down and smiled up at him, "Perfect", you said just before kissing his cheek.

You then turned to the long bathroom mirror that covered the entire length of the long marble countertops, leaning over it ever so slightly to rub at the skin around your lipstick, making sure it wasn't off-kilter in any way.

He smoothly stepped behind you, the front of his body pressed against the back of yours as his spine bent with yours, leaning over you onto the bathroom counter as you eyed him through the mirror. His arms wrapped around your waist and his chin fell to your shoulder as he stared back at you through the mirror.

His voice was low and gruff as he suggested,

"We don't really gotta go to this little gatherin' tonight now do we? Couldn't we just enjoy the rest of our time in San Francisco? We got about 10 more hours."

Elvis punctuated each sentence with a kiss to your neck, right in that spot he knew you were ticklish. You laughed softly and gently batted him away with a few swipes of your hand which in turn made him laugh.

You spoke while trying (and failing) to keep a serious face,

"Elvis, t-the mayor-"

Your laughing made it hard to put together a proper sentence.

"He's holding this soirée tonight in honor of you coming to- Ack..!"

Elvis laughed and said sarcastically before biting your ear,

"Oh, a soirée? I'm sorry little Ms. French I didn't know it was such a big deal"

You tried your best to continue through the giggle-fest Elvis could pull from you.

"Don't you w-wanna show them all that Southern charm you used to get me to marry you?"

Elvis growled playfully as his hands wrapped around your waist tightened and he picked you up from behind, evoking a squeal of surprise from you as he mumbled into your ear,

"Ya make it sound as if I schemed on you with those charms"

You laughed loudly as he held you up and responded,

"You did scheme on me! Made me think I was marrying a John Wayne cowboy type, just to find out you're a Harpo Marx clownish type, but instead of playing a harp you play a guitar"

He growled into your ear "Oh you little-" before ravaging your neck with playful kisses.

A knock on the bathroom door interrupted your fun, the both of you turning to see it soon opening after Elvis', "Come in Roberta"

As the door opened you smiled to see Roberta, the sweet old lady who'd been working for you and Elvis since a month or two after he released his first RCA record which brought in the money needed to have a personal nanny for yours and Elvis' daughter, sweet little Charlotte, who she was holding as she stood in the doorway.

Roberta smiled as she saw her two employers as in love as ever in each other's arms, the both of you looking like a million bucks in your outfits for tonight.

"Well kids, I just wanted to let the two of ya know Charlotte is all dressed and ready to go, and that the bellboy said the car's out front and ready.

She was much older so even though you and Elvis were adults, she still referred to the both of you as kids, because the two of you in life experience were like kittens compared to a sweet old cat like her.

You smiled and quickly made your way to take your daughter out of her nanny's arms, cooing over how darling she looked in her little dress and coat before saying with a smile, "Thank you, Roberta."

You looked back at Elvis as you bounced Charlotte in your arms, asking with a soft smile,

"Could you grab my purse over by the sink Honey?"

Sometimes you forget how Elvis' emotions could flip like a switch.

One moment before walking into the big building as Elvis held Charlotte and nervously stared at the doors, you'd cup his cheeks gently and whisper reassuringly, "Hey, everybody here is here for you, to just be around you. You're the man of the evening, they're the ones who should be nervous right now, and I bet you they are"

And then the next, you're holding your sweet daughter in your arms while Elvis is holding some random girls (who you're sure are somebody's sweet daughters) in his arms as he's telling them what "overcomes" him to make him move on stage.

You could vomit, you really could, at the way they all put their hands mindlessly on his chest, and 'ooh' and 'ah' over him explaining what it was like for him to film his upcoming debut film "Love Me Tender"

You got along well with the mayor's wife and a few of San Francisco's socialites who were older women which meant they weren't here for Elvis they were here because their husbands who were close friends of the mayor were here. Due to their disinterest in Elvis, they were easy to make casual conversation with.

The younger women, however, were a different matter. Most of them clung to Elvis or waited their turn to do so. And as you watched from afar you were well aware you could go over there to claim what was yours, but you didn't feel the need to. The ring was on your finger, and his child was in your arms. Sure, he didn't often make eye contact with you through the night like he always used to, but that was just because he was surrounded by so many fans. Right?

Sometimes through the night, he'd shifted through the room to you, with a group of girls in his arms, only now it was a different set, and of course, the merry mayor following him closely, buttering up to America's icon. You shifted Charlotte to your hip as Elvis introduced you to the short, tubby man.

"This is my wife, and right there is our little girl, Charlotte."

The mayor tipped his head to baby Charlotte in your arms, "It's nice to meet you little miss, and," he then turned his head to you and held his hand out, "It's nice to meet you as well Mrs. Presley"

You laughed softly at the title and politely urged him to just call you by your first name.

The night went on like that, now and then a new important man would shuffle his way into the circle of girls that surrounded Elvis and the two of you would do introductions, eventually, Elvis had offered to hold Charlotte for you, and as he picked her up he smiled at her saying, "There's my little girl", making those big fish eyes that often entertained the little girl.

The women that surrounded him would coo at how sweet of a father he seemed to be. You only watched with an unimpressed look as one of the girls chimed in,

"She's blonde? I thought you said under that mop of shoe polish dyed hair was a light brown color, or are you just trying to fool me, Mr. Presley?"

The girl giggled and obnoxiously leaned her head against Elvis' shoulder and made a playful face at your daughter as she did so, clearly infatuated by the adorable baby, but not as much as she was with the man who had fathered the baby.

Elvis laughed softly at her jest, and responded simply,

"Well Hon, it's true that I have light brown hair now, but when I was a baby I had blond hair, it just turned brown as I got older, happens with a lotta babies"

The girl giggled once more and took an almost mournful sigh as she stared up at Elvis through her batting eyelashes (you were surprised she didn't fly away with how fast those things were flapping), and crawled her hand that rested on his chest a little higher as she spoke,

"I think I'd have to see that to believe it…"

Oh, brother.

You sighed softly at the ridiculousness of these girls, and the added ridiculousness of Elvis actually laughing and smiling along. He would get a little bit of nagging later. Thankfully you didn't have to stomach the situation too much longer as Charlotte began to cry. As Elvis tried to hush her and bounce her in his arms you smiled politely at the girls and made your way closer to Elvis.

As you took Charlotte from his arms you spoke softly,

"I think she's just a bit tired Elvis, I'll calm her in the car for a bit"

Elvis mumbled a soft 'Alright Hon', and caressed Charlotte's cheek gently with his index finger before leaning your way to kiss you. But, feeling as annoyed as you felt now, at the last second you'd turned your head, his lips landing on your cheek rather than your lips, his original target.

But he couldn't say anything as you'd already begun to walk off.

As soon as you slid into the backseat of the car, the driver asked where Elvis was. You explained that you and the little one were just resting up for a bit and that you weren't sure when Elvis would be through. Charlotte had calmed down and quite quickly fell asleep in your arms, the closing of her pretty little eyelids had marked the end of the party for you. You wouldn't leave your baby to sleep in the car alone, and you wouldn't force her to be awake for the rest of the party.

You didn't mind though as you felt all partied out yourself. As much as you hated to admit it, you don't think you ever could get used to seeing Elvis surrounded by girls and entertaining girls the way he'd been since his launch to fame.

You didn't think it was unfair of you to feel this way. It wasn't as if this was something planned when the two of you got together a few years ago. It was only recently that you'd had to start enduring Elvis Presley, the rock and roll heartthrob, and not just Elvis, the dorky boy who drove a truck and had a hard time putting together a neighborhood team to play football with him.

You closed your eyes with a sigh, resting a gentle hand upon your daughter's hair. You leaned your head against the car window, it was cold as the nights were beginning to have a little chill to them. The seasons were changing, and with them, so was Elvis.

Oh well, such is life.

"…Just to the hotel Frank…"

You hummed softly at the familiar voice, pressing your head impossibly closer to the window as you tried to adjust to a more comfortable position. Just as you had settled comfortably back into the window a warm weight in the form of a hand pulled your head elsewhere. You were too tired to care, so you let it, your head soon resting comfortably on familiar broad shoulders.

That voice spoke again, but it seemed that in your half-asleep state, his voice kept coming in and out.

"…took me awhile, but… sorry… gotta entertain the fans…"

You felt annoyed by the voice interrupting your slumber, but you tried your best to ignore it after letting out a disgruntled hum.

It felt as though only a minute had passed since you'd gotten peace again before you heard that familiar voice, your husband's voice, whisper as his hand gently kneaded your shoulder, only now it was coming from the other side.

As you opened your eyes you saw the soft lighting of the hotel's sign lights spilling into the open door of the car along with Elvis' figure outside the car. Now it seemed he was holding a sleeping Charlotte in one arm as his hand tried to soothe you awake.

"C'mon Honey, we gotta get some sleep 'fore the flight"

You hummed softly and after mumbling a 'thank you' to your driver you got out of the car with the help of Elvis' steadying hand which naturally shifted to your hip after you were standing upright.

Elvis unlocked the room and kissed your cheek, mumbling something about the baby and Roberta, you were too busy on a mission to get out of this uncomfortable dress and still miffed at him, to care to process what he was saying. Your mission was to get to the bathroom to get ready for bed, as you made your way there you stopped by your suitcase to grab a short silk nightgown and your robe.

As soon as you stepped into the hotel's bathroom, and Elvis disappeared off to who knows where you could finally let out a breath. You were exhausted but you couldn't go to sleep just yet in your state. You tiredly shuffled over to the sink and began to take apart your pretty party appearance piece by piece. The hair clips that tugged at your scalp now rested on the sink, and the makeup that caked your face now caked a rag.

You struggled to reach the zipper of your dress, and for a moment your body went limp and you debated just going to bed in it. With your head hung tiredly and your eyes closed, you could've fallen asleep standing there had a set of familiar hands not graced your bare shoulders. Elvis' voice close to your ear as he asked through a smirk,

"Ya need help?"

You opened your eyes and looked at him through the mirror, you finally got a good look at him, his hair had been fussed with, could've been from him carding his hands through it throughout the night, or from one of those girls carding their hands through it. You nodded with a sigh, upset with him, but definitely in need of assistance.

As his rough fingers glided along your bare back before working at the zipper, Elvis' lips quickly fell to your neck, placing soft little pecks along the skin. You stared at him through the mirror blankly, and shook your head as you mumbled,

"Not tonight Elvis, I'm too tired…"

He hummed softly as the sound of the undoing of the zipper and the feeling of the dress loosening around your body filled your tired senses.

"Who says ya gotta put in effort Honey? I can handle ya the way I always do,"

You felt his lips curl into a smile against your skin as he murmured,

"I know how ya like it when you're tired…"

You sighed and tried pulling your neck away but his lips followed, and his hands began to explore you thoroughly as the only thing holding that dress on your body was his pressed so close against yours. You quickly stepped to the side, leaving him to shuffle forward as you were no longer there for him to lean his body against.

You kept a hand on your dress to hold it up on your body as he watched with furrowed brows.

"Elvis, I'm not in the mood for it tonight alright? We have a flight in a few hours, I want to get some sleep."

"Baby-"

Elvis reached his hand out to you but you took a step back and shook your head, a firm, "No, Elvis." leaving your lips as you walked to where you placed your nightwear with a hand still holding up your dress. Just as you began to head for the closed bathroom door he followed and asked,

"What's wrong Hon? W-what did I do to ya?"

His voice got louder as the confusion he felt was beginning to get him worked up,

"Seriously Baby, I took ya out to this nice party or fuckin' soirée or whatever pretentious bullshit you called it and this is the thanks I get?!"

You shoved him by the chest as you whisper-yelled, "You're gonna wake the baby..!"

Elvis scoffed as he took a step closer to you, practically caging you against the bathroom's door, his teeth were grit as he stared at you incredulously,

"You've been in a bad mood with me all night, seems like ya haven't even been listening… I told ya I was puttin' her with Roberta tonight! You would know if ya didn't have a stick shoved so far up your ass."

You stared up at him, feeling a pang of hurt at his words. He continued,

"Actin' like you're too good to talk to any of the fans. Spendin' all ya time schmoozin' with the rich old hags who don't give a rat's ass about me or my music"

You abruptly yelled back at him, staring daggers up at him through your teary eyes,

"That's why I was with those women Elvis! Because when I'm hanging out with them I don't gotta watch as they make goo-goo eyes at my fucking husband! I don't need to watch them paw and grab at the father of my child!!"

Elvis shook his head with a scoff and looked away from you, still keeping his hands pressed against the door, caging you in one spot. He mumbled something along the lines of "naggin' me like a jealous old wife…", a term that had only become a thing said in your arguments since Elvis' rise to fame.

You cupped his cheeks in your hand and pulled him to look at you, your voice shook as you affirmed,

"That's cause I am a jealous old wife Elvis… And had I known I would've turned out this way when I married you a few years ago… I…"

Your voice had dissipated before you could finish your sentence. You stared down at the tiled floor of the bathroom. Elvis was still wearing his shoes, whereas yours had been off the moment you stepped into the room. You could see the creases in the shoe of the foot that he was tapping nervously, and you could see the way your toes scrunched tensely.

The bathroom was quiet, and Elvis' voice which was once full of defense was now softened as he spoke quietly,

"Now, ya don't mean that Baby. You're just tired is all…"

He looked down at his shoes nervously and then at himself through the mirror on the other side of the bathroom. His hands that once caged you in landed ever so gently on your arms, his words came out through nervous stutters,

"You were right, we-we gotta catch a-a flight. Better head to bed,"

There he goes. When things get just a little too real, when the words are just a little too honest, and when reality is a little too close to crashing into the both of you, he expertly redirects it all for another time. Wanting to keep his schoolboy fantasy of having a little family of his own intact.

The little fantasy that he would whisper in your ear late at night in high school as the two of you squeezed into his twin-size bed, knowing if he talked at a normal volume the very thin walls of his house would give way to his voice waking his parents in the small room on the other side of the wall.

The little fantasy that he assured your Daddy would come to fruition if he got your parent's blessing. And it seemed so as you soon gave birth to sweet Charlotte, but just months after she was born you saw the first few strands of that fantasy being shot to hell as Elvis' talent had started being recognized.

And though it had only been maybe a year or two since then, you felt as though the boy you married straight out of high school was becoming a man you didn't recognize. And while you could keep the fantasy with Elvis going when the two of you were alone such as during the time you spent getting ready with him, it all crumbled bit by bit as his love affair with the fans and the public would disrupt his love affair with his wife. And he would let it.

So, I meant it when I said it was supposed to be a drabble, less than 100 words, short and sweet, as requested by a lovely anon. Don't know what happened...

Love for Love's Sake | Things You Didn't Notice #9

(okay it's not an episode number this time i just still have many details to point out oops pls let me go)

I swear. I thought I'd stop mentioning small details because I already wrote like 10 posts on Tumblr translating and explaining all the cultural stuff regarding this show and the obsession is already becoming embarrassing, but I rewatched the last episodes again and I've got tiny. Little. Details. That I can't help but point people to once again. Because damn, the amount of thought put into this show!

(trigger warning: first part talks about suicide and depression, next ones are linguistic and cultural)

The Black Suit & The Sea

I would've asked Koreans I know about the significance of such symbolism but they are celebrating Seollal (New Year) today and I don't wanna ruin the festive mood asking about "how would people dress for suicide" x)

But after watching this scene, I recognized some strong parallels in Korean media depicting depression, suicide and one's decision to end their life. One of it is bridges and jumping (if you don't know what Bridge of Life is, ask me and I'll share, so this post wouldn't become too long) but another one is sea.

My interpretation - Koreans wear black suits to funerals, so if someone is headed to the sea in a black suit, it might mean this is the character's attempt to "have" their own funeral before finally ending their life. Why do I think this combination is somehow significant?

Because I remembered a music video one of K-pop artists I like (Kim Hanbin) made, after he experienced the downfall of career, extreme hate and rejection from the public, and severe depression. His whole album Waterfall tells Hanbin's personal story, dark thoughts and his battle to survive during the time when he was gone for 2 years, but in the music video for this album (illa illa) he is seen emerging from the sea in a black suit – metaphorically regaining his music and, most importantly, desire to live. Watch with lyrics!

If we think, this is how you depict suicidal thoughts/attempt in Korean media (of course, Love for Love's Sake was even more blunt in telling us the meaning), then Myungha wearing black suit wasn't just for the pretty or dramatic picture. More than that, we see him wearing the black suit for the whole last evening – especially when he goes to finally meet his mother.

Which tells us Myungha has already decided to disappear from this world, and was determined to do it on that day, and his mother rejecting him and pretending she doesn't know her son might not have been just the last straw... but it definitely could've been Myungha's last attempt to find anything in his life worth staying for, worth not going through with his plan.

Anyway, what a scary but beautiful symbolism.

Let's talk about something happier! More heartwarming!

Do you remember when we talked about the carefully placed movie posters in previous episodes? I payed more attention to the background this time when in Episode 8 Yeowoon ran to the cinema searching for Myungha in his world. And what an amazing discovery! When Myungha starts existing again and calls Yeowoon, the movie poster behind Yeowoon says "Guardian" (보호자).

And I already said in another post that Myungha in previous episodes admitted himself being Yeowoon's "guardian, protector" in the exact same word. But now this word is shown next to Yeowoon! As Yeowoon is the one who changed the main mission and has now declared himself Myungha's guardian and protector and will do his best to make him (his favourite pereson/bias/blorbo) happy. They have now both become guardians for each other. This. Goddamn. Show.

And I also want to shout out the VFX & Production team for this show – all the visual effects are very down to earth, gentle and not over the top but enhancing the series to the max. Like, maybe you wondered where on the screen does it say "Monday, August 14" and "Saturday, August 12"? Well, as expected, you see it on four monitor screens above the box office – the date, the ongoing movies (yep, still our favourite two fake movies) and available dates etc.

But when Yeowoon and Myungha agree to meet each other in the exact system time, they are facing each other without a barrier, and the screens are now counting down the time until the Game End. Instead of normally showing movies, like in the previous shot, it says "Time remaining: 3 hours, 23 minutes, 15 seconds". It was either done with VFX or practically, but still, the thought of incorporating system messages into the actual background is insane and I'm always happy to discover such details.

I don't know how many of you have motivational stairs at your schools, we definitely didn't have this but it's quite a popular thing in Korea. They put popular and uplifting sayings for students on each stair, sometimes they even quote motivational phrases from idols, like this:

And it's interesting that when system gets broken and Myungha is about to disappear, we see the deep cracks coming through the stairs, we see ruined school BUT at the same time the quotes in the show are so obviously in our focus. And they are already written (see screenshots above) in Korean and English, but I'll still write down: one is saying "Stay hungry, stay foolish" and "If you dream it, you can do it, you will succeed". So, perhaps... motivational quotes from sunbae?

And the last moment isn't heavy on translation but I still want to talk about it because cool Korean culture!xD You see the gang grilling meat on the roof (it's called samgyeopsal and it's very popular to have for gatherings), and then Myungha makes a "ssam" and feeds it to Yeowoon – but Sangwon steals it.

Ssam is a wrap, you grill meat then put it on the salad leaf, add other ingredients (like mushrooms, sauces, garlic, green onions etc, there are many side dishes) and then you wrap it in this sort of salad sack and eat it. It's very tasty and unusual combination. But the thing is! There is no way to make it for someone else and leave it on their plate so if you make a ssam wrap for someone and want to give it to a person, you literally have to feed them (like Myungha does with a very fond smile). This is why it's often seen as a romantic gesture (aka feeding someone from your fork etc) and why it's hilarious that Sangwon steals this ssam from Yeowoon (because he wants and he gets Myungha's affection and he's not above being a brat about it!)

I'm sure you can already sense it anyway without me telling you about romantic/close-friend implications, but I thought you guys might wonder why are the guys fighting over the salad leaf.

Another funny thing – Sangwon mentions "There's a saying, 'Don't scold dogs while they eat'". This is a Korean proverb "밥 먹을 때는 개도 안 때린다" ("You don't hit even a dog when it eats") which means that, no matter how annoying you find someone, no matter how angry you are, you can't scold this person while they are eating. Eating is a very important cultural thing in Asia, of course, so do not have arguments at the dinner :D But it's funny how Sangwon uses old proverbs to be mischievous and steal Myungha's love without consequences xD I adore him

I swear, this gotta be my last post about all the details in Love for Love's Sake. There is one more scene with the mirror and a caption, and I'm very curious if it means something because it was seen twice, during system breaking down scene as well, but it's either in Chinese or Japanese and I can't read it.

Let's talk about Queen Charlotte. If you still need a reason to watch Queen Charlotte, do it to watch India Amarteifio's magnificent performance. Her first scene, she is silent, and I wondered if she got the part solely because she looks so much like the elder Queen Charlotte.

But then she opens her mouth and lays claim to this character during a monologue about her GOWN of all things. She goes off on a rant about her gown that showcases her intelligence, her social acumen, her awareness of political realities, her biting wit, her anger at her situation, and the whole time she's clearly one of the most beautiful woman in the world. That's just in the first 10 minutes of the show!

Her character development is finely handled, and the dialogue is top notch. Seriously, two of her declaration of love make the Top Ten Best Declarations of Love of All Time.

"I care not for his sanity! I care for his happiness! I care for his soul!" It's too bad George didn't hear that, but then when they meet again a few minutes later, she tells George, "I will stand between the heavens and the earth, and I will tell you where you are!" Her love is fierce and unapologetic.

What a strong and admirable young woman. Truly an incredible character.

But she is still human; she still has flaws. We see her insecurities, vulnerability and loneliness. Then, when she's older, we see the cost of the strength she expended to help her husband. She has nothing left for her 13 children.

Her children tell her she was their queen, but not their mother. Damningly, Charlotte gets defensive. Rather than listening and healing old wounds, she defends herself. Even when her daughter tells her about multiple miscarriages, even when her son needs compassion, she defends herself instead.

The only person she will talk to about her mothering is Brimsley. He is polite but he won't lie. Instead, he phrases it as a comment on the fact that all of them serve the King. He doesn't really answer the question, and Charlotte shifts to asking Brimsley if he cares for her. He says yes, but she doesn't say she cares of him. She's apparently held herself aloof from him through their decades as Queen and Queen's man. She must care about him on some level, but she can't say or it or show it -- the same way she treated her children. The only person who gets the full measure of Charlotte's love is George. She has nothing left for anyone else.

She is a fiercely loyal wife, a strong queen, and a distant mother. She loves gossip and the marriage market of the ton. She's one of the most complex and well-rounded female characters in any show, and definitely ranks at the top of interesting characters in the Bridgerton universe.

During Miorine's impromptu enlisting of Earth House to help run GUND-ARM, we see the spray painted sign that Miorine and Suletta made beforehand leaning outside the door. Given that they definitely didn't make the sign at Earth House, I like to imagine that they made the sign, and Miorine was like:

"This is the worst. Suletta, help me carry this sign to Earth House."

S: "W-why, Miorine-san?"

M: "They're going to be working at the company so I'll just have them make a better sign."

S: "Oh, did you ask them?"

M: "Not yet."

During this scene where Martin and Ojelo are talking, we get a look into the betting program he and Nuno are always using, and we get to see the top 10 ranked duelists at Asticassia at the time of this episode.

Of special note: Shaddiq is currently at rank 1, and due to the gray up arrow next to his rank, we can see this is a recent change in his rank. But considering that he doesn't duel very often, (at this point he currently has 7 wins and 0 losses) we can probably assume this is because Suletta has knocked both Guel and Elan from the top spots, leaving him alone at the top. His Odds are at 1.3

Suletta is currently at Rank 2, and we can also see by the gray arrow that this is a recent promotion. She probably rose up after defeating Elan. Her odds are 1.9.

Elan is Rank 3, and the red down arrow means he's recently been demoted, presumably after losing to Suletta. His odds are 2.7

Guel, surprisingly, is still rank 4 with a 3.4. Because he's the only pilot at the school to have won a double digit number of duels, his Win - Loss ratio is still presumably one of the best, even with 2 official losses.

Sabina is rank 5, with a 6.9. She's not only the second highest ranked pilot in Grassley House, but is the 4th best among all the other members of the main 3 houses. Even at that, her rank is 6.9, 3.5 points below Guel's. It really goes to show the gulf between the best pilots and the VERY best pilots at Asticassia.

Lauda is rank 7, with a 9.1. Still top 10, but he's eclipsed by Guel even at his lowest. It's nice to see proof pre-Schwarzette that Lauda can hold his own, and it gives more context to his statement that "[With a Gundam's power], he's a match for his brother." He's probably never beaten Guel in a duel, and with the difference in their results, he's probably never come close, either. On some level, he probably resents him for that.

Renee is rank 10, with odds of 13.3. We don't learn much about Renee, but we know now that she's the 3rd highest ranked pilot within Grassley, underneath Sabina and Shaddiq, but the gulf is large.

I don't think there's any way in hell to figure out how the odds are calculated, (I've tried.) but we know that the lower the odds, the higher your rank.

Because the names are color coded, we can actually see how many members of each house are in the top ten. Grassley - Shaddiq, Sabina, Renee (3/10) - 30% Peil - Elan (1/10) - 10% Jeturk - Guel, Lauda, Ragnar (3/10) - 30% Earth - Suletta (1/10) - 10% Unknown House - Olta, Jonas (2/10) - 20% (These two names are color coded the same, so I'll assume they're in the same house, as 'unhoused' students have the standard blue color coding : e.g Miorine)

Okay, we're ALMOST done here, but, because Ojelo often says the odds of a duel out loud during it, we can actually track the odds of Guel, Elan, and Suletta up to this point. (Ojelo always says the odds in terms of Person he's betting on's odds - Opponent's odds.)

This is the Recording System that opens when Prospera sends her all of Aerial's past data. The screen is similar to the one that appears when Eri is speaking to Lfrith, but other than that there's not much info that can be gleaned here.

Not text, but I really how during the scene where Suletta asks Prospera why she lied to her, and Prospera continues to lie to her about why, Suletta's face is drawn in a way that's uncomfortable to look at once she falls for her manipulation.

This scene is also where Prospera tells her outright that Gundams are safe, and for nearly the entire rest of the series, Suletta repeats this, even when faced with direct evidence to the contrary because she wholeheartedly believes her mother would never lie to her for no reason.

Okay okay FINAL non text thing I PROMMY, but this scene implies that at some point, Suletta spoke with Shaddiq about the situation with her mom for at least a little bit at some point. I wish we got to see that.

Not text (sorry i lied) but I think it's interesting that the video Miorine watches of her father's speech is a secondhand recording and not an actual recording of the event.

Some closer looks at the editing software used to create the PR video. The name of the raw video file is GUND-ARMInc.PV01, and the placeholder text for the GUND-ARM Inc. Logo is GUND-ARMInc.PV02.

Also all of the silly visual effects like the hearts and musical notes make sense when you realize they had Suletta edit the actual video.

We can actually see Till's rough sketch of the GUND-ARM logo on his tablet screen, complete with construction lines. That's why they have to use a placeholder in the editing software, it's not complete yet.

When Miorine chooses the data files to cast to the screen, the 3 video files are named GUND CARDO NABO MS

The files are dated by year, so all of these files were recorded in A.S. 101.

Here is all of the editing (blessings) in the GUND-ARM PR Video 1. When Suletta walks into frame, the video is covered in a filter that makes hearts and stars appear on the screen. When the video cuts the first time, the filter changes to one that makes various musical notes appear on the screen. Then when it cuts again the filter is gone. 2. Suletta walks into frame, and then tries to correct her position, and then it cuts back to a shot of her in the original spot she was standing in. 3. Aerial is horribly keyed into the shot, and you can see bits of the green screen behind it. Tiko also walks in front of it and they didn't know how to edit him out. 4. When they begin the dance, each step cuts to a later time of day and Suletta looks noticeably more exhausted, which means they kept having to re-record it. 5. They kept having to edit Aerial's arms to make the dance moves work.

They move them around

And they stretch them.

I like that Prospera laughs at the video, because for her, it's probably like watching her daughters having fun and playing together.

The food for the party that Suletta and Miorine are bringing are from ASTICASSIA FOODS.

After putting the kids to bed, you and Mick stayed in the living room, sleep not on your mind as you caught up on your favourite show to watch together while staying in eachother's embrace, his hand resting on your waist as he kissed the top of your head every now and then, until some noise caught his attention, footsteps from Angie and who he assumed was Aurora coming closer unti your oldest daughter greeted you, "Rora, is everything alright?", you asked as you saw her reach the living room entrance.

Switching from standing on one foot to the other, your daughter looked uneasy as she pushed her curls to the side, "can I sit here with you? I promise I won't make any noise", she said in a small noise and your heart squeezed as you moved to sit up properly, opening a space for her to stand between you and Mick, "of course, my love, here", Mick said as he arranged the blanket so it could cover all three of you as Angie laid by his feet.

Aurora fiddled with a loose thread on the blanket before speaking, "you know how you said I could talk to you when I didn't feel good?", she began, getting both of your attentions, "can I do it now?", she looked up, "of course you can. You don't need to ask", Mick encouraged her. "I was trying to sleep and all I could think about was that papa is going to start racing soon, and he won't be home as much", she muttered, her eyes beggining to water as you noticed your husband frown. It was true when other driver's partners had told you that once they're old enough to understand it, it gets harder when they leave for the races, "That's true, yes. I won't be home as much, but I'll do my best to be here as much as possible", Mick caressed her curly locks, "are you? And you won't forget about me? Or Seb? Or mama? You won't forget about us, right? Not even Angie!", she said, the expression now moving from sad to a somewhat bossy one, "I won't, princess. How could I ever forget about you?", he said as he kissed the top of her head, "a girl in my school said that her papa is always travelling and she doesn't know if he still remembers her, she hasn't seen him in a while", she pouted.

You had heard some of the mothers gossiping about it when you went to pick her up, the women clearly not understanding what boundaries and minding their own business was like as they spoke about it loud and clear for anyone in a 10 meter radius to hear, "has papa ever forgotten about us?", you questioned your daughter, "No, he always calls your phone so we can talk to him. Or sends us videos for us to see what he has been up to", Aurora reasoned with you, "I just don't want you to forget about us. I love you a lot. We love you a lot, right, mama?", she offered as she got up on the sofa, her arms coming to wrap themselves around Mick's neck, "I love you guys too, more than anything in the world", he replied back, kissing her cheeks while you looked at the scene, their bond so effortless and simple, but full of love.

My view on the Scully religious episodes: they aren't always the best (unfortunately not every Scully-focused ep can be Beyond the Sea or Never Again) but I do still appreciate them for being Scully-focused in the first place and many of them are quite solid, not on a top 10 list but still really good if a little clumsy (Revelations, All Souls, Orison), the thing I really love and remember about them is that Scully is constantly doubting and questioning both herself and her beliefs in them (i definitely dont think she has blind faith, shes actaully the most unsure in those episodes), and I find that very human, is it contradictory to the other aspects of her? Absolutely but we all are to some degree and it makes her more interesting

I don't mind contradictory actions if it fits reasonably with a character's established patterns, i.e. Scully and belief, etc. And, yes, Scully did question her faith... well, tbh I think she struggled with it more than questioned it. Revelations clarified that position-- "I believe God's hand can be witnessed" [Mulder then asks something along the lines of "even without proof?"] "Maybe that's what faith is"-- and showed that, yes, her faith is hard for Scully because she's a woman who must be shown the proof before she believes. Yet, she doesn't extend that rationalization to her faith or religion as well. Even in the tightest religious circles, questioning and grappling with those questions often comes up in the literature or teachings or etc. (except in cults or extremists, of course.)

Perhaps the concept was handled a bit clumsily for my taste; but does it make it bad? No; and no less enjoyable than some other episodes. I would prefer Scully wrestle with her faith than cut it from her arcs entirely.

Boiling it down, I thiiiink? my problem is: the episodes state that Scully is grappling with greater questions of her faith only to be followed by a scene or two later of her dismissing further questions and discouraging Mulder from digging deeper into said beliefs or questions. And likely that behavior stems from fear, i.e. turning aside from her cancer because she couldn't change or understand it.

And, rationally, it makes sense on paper... but there's an oddball point that doesn't mix well with the other thesis points (and that my brain can't. pinpoint.) needing to be drawn out and further reflected upon. Hey, maybe it's nothing or maybe it's something. There's just a few too many question marks for me to lay the matter to rest, just yet. :)))))

SatouShio Propaganda (Underage, Age Gap - Satou is 15 and Shio is 8, Unhealthy dynamic - Satou keeps Shio locked inside constantly)

"Those that know Happy Sugar Life might be looking at this ship with the question of "How does a fifteen year old yandere kidnapping and isolating an eight year old child make it a good ship?" - To begin with, there's the fact that Satou's love is based on love alone, rather than lust. Before meeting Shio, she'd go through hundreds of boys using lust (not as an emotion, but tactic) to try and figure out if any could spark love, but none did. Due to her past with her aunt, she wasn't able to spark any emotion, all of it was falsified. Upon meeting Shio, and Shio explaining what she felt love was, Satou felt her first true emotions in a long time.

On top of that, out of every character in Happy Sugar Life, as bad as Satou can be, she is the best person for Shio to be with - and there is no arguing otherwise. If she heads back to her father, she'll be beaten and abused. If she goes with her brother Asahi and her mother, she'd be starving and impoverished - on top of that, Shio's mother outright openly stated she was abandoning Shio when Satou first met her, and Taiyou almost outright states he desires Shio physically, unlike Satou's emotional-focused desires. If we look at the scenes Shio goes outside, the streets are as dangerous for her as Satou's claiming during Shio's isolation. Satou taking Shio back to the apartment they stay in was the best case scenario for Shio.

In episode 5, Shio even states that she loves Satou - more than anyone in her family - and that Satou is warmer than her family. It's hard to make an argument that Shio should be with anyone but Satou, despite the nature of the anime. Shio wants to be there, and is better off there than she would be with anyone else. Satou may be a murderer, but in all cases of murder it's either to protect Shio's safety outright, or to protect their relationship together - Satou loves Shio romantically, and Shio loves Satou back. While some may argue Satou's love is familial, they kiss on the lips in episode 2, recite wedding vows every night, and have another more intimate chaste kiss in episode 11 during a pseudo-wedding where they exchange rings."

"Satou also doesn't see this reason for murder as a bad thing, nor the murder as a bad thing - it's justified to her because she's protecting Shio and their love. The first thing she ever apologises to Shio for is kissing another girl and telling someone else she loves them - it was a lie to the other girl, but Satou still breaks down apologising to Shio for betraying their love this way. The only thing that matters to her is that she treats Shio with true love. Being with Satou brings Shio happiness and joy, and being with Shio is the only thing bringing Satou any form of emotion. Shio is her light and her reason for continuing on, she'd give up without her. The two are doomed from the start, with Satou dying and Shio keeping both wedding rings and Satou's ribbon, claiming Satou is in her heart and they're together forever now, but I am near certain if Shio didn't ask Satou to die together, they would've been able to find a way to retain a happy love life after leaving the town."

Bwen Propaganda (Incest - Cousins, Species Difference - Gwen is part Anodite)

"During the original series, Ben and Gwen were almost always bickering, arguing, name-calling (calling each other "Doofus" or "Dweebs"), making fun of each other, or fighting. They had a love/hate relationship. However, deep down they really do care about each other as shown on various occasions throughout the show. Especially in Secret of The Omnitrix, when Ben would go far lengths to keep Gwen out of danger. Such as transforming into Four Arms, despite the fact that the Omnitrix's self-destruct mode countdown would only accelerate. When he found out that she was still alive, he ran through the open field of heavy fire in order to hug her.

In the Omniverse continuation, even though Gwen went to college early in the show, both have openly stated that they miss each other a lot (hugging one another before she left in The More Things Change: Part 1). Gwen ALSO runs to hug Ben when he returns to Earth in The Frogs of War: Part 2. While I'm also very much an original continuation type of girl, their bickering relationship is toned down immensely in the 2016 reboot with more heartfelt and considerate moments between Ben and Gwen looking out for each other."

Yes! I love replying to comments, even when I feel awkward about it. I really like getting replies from authors, I find it discouraging not to, so that's partly why. 6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

It's probably my first fic, This Town. The whole fic is Niall processing Zayn leaving the band – but more importantly leaving him, and they don't get back together in the end. It's not my fault, Niall wrote a sad song! But also I was in the thick of grieving, so. That's what happened.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I almost, almost always write happy endings, so I could really pick this one at random lol, but I'll go with enough to make a girl blush. I really love how far Louis has come at the end of that fic and how happy she and Niall are together and how good they are together. Plus, I wrote a happy little timestamp for Harry and Zayn (count me in).

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I've gotten comments that don't sit well with me, but not really. I did post a fic set at the beginning of COVID before I knew how bad it would get, and someone messaged me to say they were sorry about the hate it was getting... but I didn't see any?

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

yes! I write smut that I find hot, girl direction and boy direction. When I started writing, I felt like I wrote absolutely terrible smut and I worked really hard to figure it out. Practice makes progress, baby.

10. Do you write crossovers? What the craziest one you've written?

I've written a couple of reality show AUs with the actual people from the shows in the fic – you came into my life and you wanna be on top? Nothing too crazy!

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I think someone stole a shiall one-shot and posted it on Wattpad. Weirdly, I feel like I haven't made it because that doesn't happen to me more often.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

yes! Most recently, someone asked if they could translate pink like the paradise found into Russian and they were so lovely.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I took part in a round robin for Nic's (@louandhazaf) birthday a few years ago! (Louis referring to merlot as the basic bitch of wines was me!) Co-writing has come up as an idea a couple of times, but the timing or idea etc has never been right.

14. What's your all-time favorite ship?

I kind of have to fall deep for a pairing to write them, so I love a lot of pairings! Aside from larry, I think gryles might be my favorite. Something about the pining best friends who can't be together because of... REASONS just gets me where I live.

15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

I had an idea for a lilo exes to lovers AU based on bennifer and I wrote a snippet that I really liked for it, but I felt like I was white washing Jennifer Lopez, if that's the right word? Like you can't separate her from the fact that she's Puerto Rican, so casting Louis in that role didn't feel right. I could try to figure out another way to approach it, but I don't really think I'll feel inspired enough.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I think I'm really good at continuity, and writing scenes with lots of people and involving all of them.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I always feel like I start sentences with "Niall did this" and "Harry did that" (sorry, writing narry at the moment). So, narration that's not action? Does that make sense?

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I think it can be done effectively. I liked how the French worked in Darling, so it goes. It made sense to include because Harry moved to a country where he didn't speak the language. I tried to make the meaning of the French clear when Harry understood it, but I didn't include translations in the notes because Harry didn't understand a lot, and I wanted the reader in his shoes. I worked really hard on the French because I don't speak it, but I asked @somethingwittyorother to look it over and their feedback was incredibly helpful.

20. Favorite fic you've written?

It's usually the last fic that I posted, so right now it's Suddenly Last Summer. I had the best time writing it and it was such a fulfilling creative outlet, and I just love it.

nothing can beat her sacrifice for Tinkerbell knowing she was gonna get captured from the humans, she was more scared for Tinkerbell then she did for herself, maybe it was her way of making it up to Tinkerbell for what have happened to Tink after slamming the door on her and probably realized Tinkerbell didn't deserves to get captured so she took her place instead, just my thoughts, in the end she's the reason Tinkerbell is still alive afterall next favourite was her befriending Tinkerbell after all the rescuing was over and it started when they reunited with each other, i think it turned out she was actually relieved Tinkerbell was okay this whole time after Tinkerbell got kidnapped by Lizzy and shortly after she hugged Tinkerbell with the picnic scene she wanted to start over with Tinkerbell and officially formed a friendship, letting go for everything that has happened in the past moving everything in the past, the reason why it's extremely high on the list is because when Tinkerbell was first born, she didn't wanted to have like anything to do with Tinkerbell and tries to get rid of her and from everybody she had most of the issues with Tinkerbell because she bullied Tinkerbell and made everything about herself this whole time back then, for that reason i didn't expected her to be into Tink's life once the human event have started but some people do change for the better and have its redemption and Vidia is one of them who do have a heart, that's why it's on my second best list of Vidia next up on my top 3 was the scene she felt guilty about the whole thing and decided to tell the girls the truth about Tinkerbell and couldn't forgive herself she got a little involved with the event and if something bad happens to Tinkerbell, she'll be more upset if she won't get to Tinkerbell in time to save her from the humans and it scared the crap out of her if she can't make it up to Tinkerbell if she won't survive all this, it really looked like she was defending Tinkerbell after the others made fun of Tinkerbell with her temper because Vidia was most likely the one who seems to be upset and she wasn't on friendly terms with Tinkerbell so i was surprised the others weren't so upset at all and they are Tink's friends but Vidia was relieved to find forgiveness by others after they all comforted her about the situation so she forgives them all aswell right afterwards too she has a sarcastic nature of her and most of the times i find it quite funny to be honest and it's showed in almost each movies, one of them was when she found out Tinkerbell had a sister and asked if there was an another Tinkerbell, her funny ways of saying it's a bad idea when Tinkerbell is up to something, she likes to mess up and i meant more of like making jokes or atleast act like one, "fairy to fairy advice" when she tells Periwinkle in a funny way yet NOT joking about how Tinkerbell can be at times and Tinkerbell was like "uhm haha yeah guess who's talking" i love that about her and the scene that made it to the top 5 is her caring side, even if she doesn't always shows it the right ways, one of the best ways was when Silvermist became seasick she took it easy on her, the other one was the Gruff situation when under weird weathers and just wanted Fawn to be safe, Vidia also often make sure Tinkerbell stays out from troubles, even after the third movie, she'll especially be there for Tinkerbell even if she doesn't agree with the plans or opinions, one of them was when Tinkerbell was still working on the box and Vidia reminded her in sarcastic ways to take a break from all the working before the 4 seasons festival have started, i LOVE her caring side

next one is her redemption, one of the best compared to all the others, she carefully went after Lizzy in hope to befree her on her own, she was terrified for Tinkerbell after she saw all those poor butterflies pinned up in display cases thinking Tinkerbell will most likely to be the next target and she got scared when Tinkerbell got attacked by a cat and called the others for help once she realized she couldn't befree Tinkerbell on her own, she leaded the others to the house, explained them everything and aside from the whole situation she felt guilty for it also didn't wanted Tinkerbell to die once she saw Tinkerbell while she was trapped in a jar and didn't wanted for Tinkerbell to die when sacrificing her own life for Vidia, sure she was relieved to see her but she was scared for her when Tinkerbell almost risked her own life by stopping the car to save Vidia, i can tell when she said her name and begged Tinkerbell not to go there, one of the best redemption for that reason the next one was the one she stayed with Tinkerbell even when she made bad choices or felt like she got ignored, i'd expected her to leave Tinkerbell like she used to do at first but she didn't, she even stayed when Tinkerbell entered the fairy house made by humans, she'd probably knew if she won't protect her from the humans Tink will get captured WAY earlier and won't survive life if she let something like that go and does care for her even if she shows it in a irritating way, i'm proud of Vidia in the third movie next one was her working with the group, she helped others building a boat, she helped the others during a waterfall, she kind of technically helped the others to lead them to the house and even during cat attack she was much help the next one was her stopping the others from fighting in the pirate fairy movie and not just once but like 3 TIMES, one with Rosetta and Fawn with the shoes one, the other one with Silvermist and iridessa and the last one when iridessa and Rosetta got into a serious fight with the disasters by blaming each other, i don't know if this has anything to do like how she used to fight with Tinkerbell at the time they weren't on friendly terms with each other and didn't wanted Rosetta and iridessa to end up like she did with Tinkerbell but i'm glad she intervene in a calm way like a mother or big sister by saying Zarina is to the blame for all the messes it have created, even the switching talent one knowing arguing and blaming each other won't get you anywhere in life with bad situations, if she wasn't even there to stop iridessa and Rosetta from fighting i'm sure it will escalate sooner or later and they only get themselves to blame, i love this mature side of Vidia in this movie, she's the type that will adjust with the situations after overreacting at first and that one scene that made it to the top 10 was the scene she was being there for Tinkerbell this whole time when Tinkerbell got seperated from her sister by Lord Milori, she really looked like she wanted to stand up for Tinkerbell but have no idea what or how for the way she looks at Tinkerbell and then turned to Lord Milori a few times but i'm glad she was being there for her and comforting her about the situation and tried to take her home, that's a sweet thing to do for a friend who was having a hard time about all this and sticks with her at all times, that's what true friends will do in my opinion, she comforts the others too, sure but i love this one slightly more

there are more things what i love about Vidia then the ones i don't love about her but it's mostly only the first movie though but all is forgiven once she came into Tinkerbell's life when on the mainland, i ironically used to hate her but now i love this girl, she really rocks in my opinion and she often takes the situation very well, she's most likely the only one who have that strength

Do you mind if I ask your top 10 favorite characters (can be male or female) from all of the media that you loved (can be anime/manga, books, movies or tv series)? And why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before.....Thanks...

Thank you for the ask and no, no one has asked me this before.

I must admit Iam someone who doesn't really have favourite characters in a way I can rank them but I like talking about every character I find interesting which tends to be majority. Also my opinions about what characters I like change very frequently.

I find it hard to rank characters I like from different media so here's the list in no particular order

Katara (avatar the last airbender) - ever since I watched atla I have always loved katara and the premise of her character. Katara is someone who lost her mother at a young age due to abilities that she possessed of being a water bender. She was then forced into a motherly role after her father left for war so she definitely struggled coming to terms with a lot of things and probably felt a sense of isolation being the only bender in her tribe. I love how katara is tough and femine at the same time, how she also has her own complex feelings about things and how she is the glue to team avatar.

Pidge (Voltron) - no I was never active in the Voltron fandom but even with the wasted potential of the show pidge will always be my favourite character in that series. Pidge is a character who would do anything for both knowledge and family. Her knowledge is what ends up saving voltorn a lot of the time and I loved her motivations and the character conflict she had where she wanted to prioritise her family over Voltron. (Ps I don't recommend watching voltron the story writing went out the window in season 2)

Itadori yuuji (Jujutsu kaisen)- I think you kinda tell the type of characters I like by now all are moan characters (I guess I just have a soft spot for MCs). To me yuji is a very fascinating character he can bring out the best people and honestly his character arc is very satisfying to see. The boy who was cursed to try and save people failing to do so and then going on to develop ideologies like how he is just a cog within a system and how his only purpose is to be a vessel and die but then all of that being broken Infront of him and he ends up causing the people he wanted to protect pain just by existing is something so heartshattering. The losses he goes through and how he always viewed himself as a lonely guy but now he finds strength in community and ends up viewing his only purpose is to save megumi.

Izuku midoriya (my hero academia)- Iam not sure if this counts but Iam more in love with the wasted potential and the what we could of had when it comes to izuku. Izuku isn't the regular shonen MC kinda guy there are many scenes of him analysing and overthinking things easily. He is also someone who isn't afraid to show and express his emotions and I truly wish he was handled by a better writer because there are some very small things I like about his character that don't get explored. Izuku is a very emotionally intelligent character who is able to realise a lot of things about people he usually spots and sees what people want to keep hidden and he isn't afraid to point these things out and actually do something about it.

Takemichi hanagaki (tokyo revengers)- This was the first series I actually started to make theories for and I loved takemichi as an MC. He was someone who made a lot of mistakes in the past and got the chance to change everything so he did and he tried to become everyone's saviour but sometimes not everyone can be saved. I just also really love the idea of a character who was lonely and got a chance to escape from that lonieless and surround himself with the people he loved just to slowly lose them and then goes on to blame himself and views that his only way of redeeming himself is to help another person suffering the same fate as him (I think the TR ending could of been improved a whole lot more but Iam not mad with what we got it's pretty good for a time travel and deliqunent manga)

Mao Mao (the apothecary diaries)- honestly I love how relatable and adorable she is. There is also the fact that she grew up in a bath house where her emotional needs where neglected so she grew up quite apathetic and slowly her character is used to explore the female world in china and how broken and unfair the system can be to people all make me love her character. Also who doesn't want to be a cat and spend their days doing nothing.

Violet evergarden (violet evergarden)- oh how much I hold this short series dearly. Violet was always used as a tool her entire life the series follows her journey of her learning love she goes and writes letters for people trying to capture what they want to say and understands their feelings learning about different types of love whole she slowly starts to incorporate that into her life. I do have some mixed feelings about the ending considering that Gilbert and her share a nine year age gap and some of the controversial stuff that goes with the ship but overall violets story is really beautifully executed and her character development is beautiful.

Eren Yeager (attack on titan)- Yes another MC I love. If you're wondering no I don't believe Eren was right for what he did but i understand why he did it. I understand why he wanted destruction and viewed the world as a rotten place I also understand why he wanted to abandon his duty and live out his life in peace with the person he loved. I love how isayama wrote his character and I especially love how he humanised Eren in chapter 139 and actually showed us that Eren is still a 19 year old who was exploited and used as a child soldier, a child who saw too much when he was too young in a world that was too cruel for him to survive.

Genya Shinazugawa (demon slayer)- he definitely deserved more screentime but I love genya he is an absolute menace all he needs is some demon flesh and a gun and he is sorted. I loved his character arc with sanemi how the manga explored his confusion of what happend to his mother, him naturally growing to become cold hearted to survive, him wanting nothing but his brothers love and the tragedy behind his character how he could never hear his brothers last words to him.

Percy Jackson (Percy Jackson)- loved this series and I read it when I was young. I mainly love how Percy is just a little confused meance to society who has a fatal flaw of being too loyal to the ones he loves. His story of not fitting in and his relationship with his mum Sally is everything to me. I haven't read the series in a long time but I still truly love Percy.

Yeah my liking for characters is actually very basic. Majority of these characters are main characters but that doesn't mean I don't like talking about other characters I just like thinking about and analysing these characters way more also this list changes a lot of the time. This is going to be a very long post of my opinion on Buddy Daddies last episode.

I am very satisfied with Buddy Daddies ending because I was worried how would Kazuki and Rei become a real family with Miri when they have the organization pointing their guns at their back.

The answer is: Before the organization manage to do something, we're going to charge in first.

I love that.

The action scenes on this episode is *chef's kiss* They're still able to banter while fighting ("Domestic violence", etc) which I think very chaotic and funny of them. This show trully has dark humour like what Uchiyama-san and Toyonaga-san said in the interview.

Buddy Daddies is mostly a comedic show but they can be a bit gory when they want, like how they executed Ogino's death. I cheered when Kazuki, the one who's always seen as the weaker one between the two, stabbed Ogino and then Rei pushed him so the knife would cut through his throat. Don't you think it's awesome how he was obsessed with people's last words but he couldn't say his or even write because Kazuki immediately burned the kitchen. Also, I noticed Kazuki probably used Rei's lighter, the one Rei gave him last episode!

Rei's confrontation with his dad is also well executed. I didn't think Rei would dare to shoot his dad, but he did! I also like how his dad warned him that even if Rei kills him, the organization still has his back and he could never escape his blood-ties with the Suwa family. His dad even let Rei kill him. But Rei had other solution, that was making his dominant hand permanently disabled, thus making him weaker. He still could shoot a gun with his left hand, it was shown multiple times that the could. He would also be able to fight only using his left arm, legs, and head (he likes headbump doesn't he). But having a permanently disabled right arm would hinder a lot of his job as a hitman because it would be harder to fight (ofc) and also handling bigger guns (sniper? Idk the name. Rei was usually seen being a shooter from afar using big guns).

A nice addition that I like is when Rei walked out, Shigeki pointed a gun at him but was never able to shoot. Maybe, just a little bit in his tiny and cold heart, he still acknowledges Rei as his son, someone who shares the same blood as him.

Honestly I was worried at first like how the hell are they going to solve Rei's problems with the organization in a single episode while still having to close the season with something heartwarming. But, I am satisfied with how they executed it in the last episode.

Also, Kazuki and Rei being the best dads dressing as santa even though they were both beaten up, badly injured, and could barely walk only to see their daughter singing is a cherry on top. Your highness, they're a family!

But I didn't expect such a huge timeskip. Miri looked so happy and healthy, good job daddies. She also looked a bit like her auntie Karin. I love how the family are still in contact with auntie Karin even though she's Kazuki's in-law and Kyu-chan. Miri also knows about her mother's passing, so at some point Kazuki and Rei told her. Misaki must be proud seeing how her daughter has grown into a beautiful and kind lady.

The comment about Kazuki drinking out with a girl was kinda unecessary though because ignoring the "no homo" meaning, Kazuki hooked up with girls back in the days just to run away from his guilt after his wife's death. It was sort of a coping mechanism? for him, like how he was also addicted to gambling. I thought after he finally starting to move on in episode 7, he would stop going out with girls like Carol and Dorothy (where are they though, I need them in the last episode).

Anyway, I love the ending! For an orgininal series with a limit of 12 episodes, they executed it pretty well.

Kazuki and Rei might not be romantically involved with each others at the end, but they're still partners, buddies, co-parents. I'm pretty sure they love each others platonically, I mean how can you spend 10 years (and more) of your time raising daughter together and opening up a diner in Okinawa if you don't love each others. They were also strictly platonic since episode 1 so as much I had wanted to see them together, it would've been a bit rushed if they squeezed the romance only in the final episode. And them having queerplatonic relationship is really good, I rarely seen that in an anime.

It's also refreshing to see that in this anime, a family with two dads and one daughter with no blood relation is seen and treated normally by the characters, and also for the viewers. I read in one of the interview with the staff/PD that they wanted to explore an unusual family dynamics consisting of two dads and one child, where in the heteronormative society a family usually consist of one father and one mother.

To be honest, I read a lot of BLs with family/kids trope but to make a family consisting of two dads acceptable in their universe, usually they had to make A/B/O setting where the omega is able to be pregnant with their child. If they went for modern days setting, they usually make one of the father had a child with their previous wife, be in a relationship with other guy, but his child is oblivious about their relationship and doesn't really think of his father's S/O as his other dad.

Kazuki and Rei raising a daughter together (who is not their biological child) probably make people see them as more than friends, but no one in the series see or treat them badly. Kyu-chan only reminded them about their jobs and how may affect Miri, Anna-chan only asked Miri if she were happy with having two dads, the daycare moms only interested in how attractive they are and what are their jobs because they're rich as hell, Misaki never questioned about her daughter being raised by two men but only worried when she found out they were hitmen, even Shigeki who wanted to kill Kazuki and Miri only said having connection with other people is bad for business.

In modern days Japan where same sex marriage isn't allowed, I like how two dads raising a daughter together is seen as normal in the eyes of its society. The viewers too, whatever their sexualities are (because I've seen a lot of straight men liking this series), also see their family as something normal and are all rooting for their happiness. I think it's very neat, like the show really is telling the viewers that, "Yeah, the family is not considered to be what we normally have. They are not related, the child is raised by two fathers who aren't romantically in love with each others. But they are a family. A family can be formed in more than one way."

This is my personal opinion, but I think making Kazuki and Rei strictly platonic until the end is not only to focus on the found family part, but they want to convey the message of "A family that isn't related by blood and doesn't consist of one father and one mother can also work" to people including them who are in a heteronormative society. Because me being raised in such society knows that even with a single hint of homosexuality on screen, a lot of people would be upset and stop watching. That's just my take though.

In conclusion, this is a good series which covers the realistic aspect of parenting added with some actions and dark background. Buddy Daddies is now added to another of my all-time favorite anime by P.A. Works, one of them is Nagi no Asukara. If they are going to make a second season (slim chance) or an OVA, I'll make sure to be tuning in.

Rhaenys' decision to join Rhaenyra's side was arguably the most logical choice and in line with her character/motivations

I'll be partly referring to a recent post by @squgs HOTD and Ambiguity. They discuss a really interesting point and I didn't want to hijack their post by addressing a minor detail that they used as an example. But it also wouldn't leave me alone, since it's been bothering me for a while how a lot of people seem to interpret Rhaenys' motivations and actions in episode 10 (and 9). Apparently, House Velaryon backing Rhaenyra seems confusing to some (which I agree it might). Obviously everyone can have their own opinions and interpretations of the characters, but I am passionate about mine and need to make my case somewhere where I don't offend anyone accidentally. So I'll just write down my thoughts here. (This is just me ranting for fun, don't take it too srsly pls)

I agree that the Velaryons taking Rhaenyra's side instead of remaining neutral doesn't seem to make a lot of sense if you look at what happened in the show and their conviction that Rhaenyra is responsible for Laenor's death. BUT, I've wasted a lot of time thinking about it, and I do think joining Team Black was their best shot.

I do believe that her wish to see a Queen on the Iron Throne and protecting her grandchildren are her main reasons for joining Rhaenyra.

Moreover, I think that she believes that an alliance with Rhaenyra ensures she keeps what she has and furthers the goals of House Velaryon as well as her own (more than, say, joining Team Green would)

Firstly, I'd like to address why I would rule out Alicent's offer in episode 9. It seems like a good way to go if Rhaenys wants Baela to inherit Driftmark, IF Rhaenys believes that Alicent is to be trusted and actually has the power to back it up. If she thinks that Rhaenyra has the better chance of coming out on top in the end, then she would only make herself a traitor by agreeing to this deal. Then there is also the fact that she would turn directly against her remaining family members. Corlys made his wishes clear before he left, naming Lucerys heir and by that putting them indirectly on Rhaenyra's side - there was no way to be sure at the time that he would actually die, or, if he survived, go along with this deal between Rhaenys and Alicent; Baela expressed her loyalty for Rhaenyra too (in the deleted scene, and probably made her standpoint clear before at some point) and might not even agree to go along with it. So putting all her eggs into Alicent's basket might not work out in Rhaenys' favour, and even tho it might prolong the negotiations for peace between the factions, it would definitely not hold back Daemon and Rhaenyra indefinitely imo. They have enough dragons to risk it even without Meleys and the Velaryon fleet. They are completely convinced that Rhaenyra is the rightful claimant to the throne after all. They won't just give up and resign themselves to the situation. In any case, with or without an escalation, Driftmark is closest to Dragonstone and I don't see them forgiving Rhaenys for siding with Alicent. They would fly over there and take that inheritance away from Baela in a heartbeat and just install someone else on the Driftwood throne. I don't see the Greens being able to stop that from happening, and Rhaenys probably knows that. Apart from the possibility of Rhaenys getting the heir for Driftmark that she wants, I see no gain in joining Team Green, especially since the Velaryons clearly consider them traitors; view Aegon's coronation as usurping the throne and have to assume that Team Green would actively try to kill Rhaenyra's sons.

Secondly, I also believe that Rhaenys' main motivation is to keep her family safe and ensure her house's survival. I am convinced that she cares about the boys, not only Baela and Rhaena. We didn't get any real scenes with them, but what I saw in the background in episode 7 is enough for me to believe that she at the very least doesn't want them to get hurt. They are also members of House Velaryon as far as most of Westeros (including Coryls) is concerned and additionally, they are betrothed to Baela and Rhaena. By making sure that they survive to take over the Iron Throne and the Driftwood throne, she is ensuring her granddaughters' futures (futures that they also both seem to want). She may not have the same ambitions as Corlys, but she probably also wouldn't pass up that opportunity. So: even if she didn't care about the boys, it is in her interest that they survive. Joining Rhaenyra is the way to protect them.

That also brings me to the question, why she didn't fight for her own claim, but then decided to fight for Rhaenyra's, even though she couldn't really stand her at this point in time. Simply put, her chances back in the day were much worse than Rhaenyra's. At the time of the Great Council (and Jaehearys' death) she only had one dragon and very few supporters. Rhaenyra has a whole bunch of dragons, more support, the lords actually swore fealty to her at one point and she was appointed by the previous king, which means more loyal lords might stand with her even if they had preferred a male heir otherwise. Rhaenyra has a claim that can be backed up with a lot of arguments and force, while Rhaenys was a woman AND rejected by Jaehaerys. Of course she could have tried to fight for the throne anyway, but that would have been so much more risky and probably doomed to fail, especially with no other members of House Targaryen backing her up. She would have risked the lives of her family and herself to take a throne that she might not be able to hold in the end anyway (Daemon and all the lords who voted against her would have had something to say about that even if Viserys himself didn't care that much). So, arguably, Rhaenyra has a better chance of success (at least that's how I see the situation) and I am convinced that Rhaenys wants some form of justice for the slight against her. She might see Rhaenyra as a way to change "the order of things" after all.

And finally, while Rhaenys obviously doesn't trust Rhaenyra and Daemon, she also has no more reason to trust Alicent and Aegon. In her eyes war seems to be an inevitability, but while Aegon hasn't exactly shown a lot of virtues so far, Rhaenyra seems to prove herself reasonably capable at the moment. So why not back the arguably better ruler for the kingdom? I do think that it also would have made sense for the Velaryons to simply remain neutral and wait out the war, but her deciding the way she did also isn't unreasonable. Especially when the support of House Velaryon might just cause the scales to tip in Rhaenyra's favour (which would be way more in their interest than the Greens winning). Not to forget: Corlys actually swore obeisance to Rhaenyra, so accepting her as Queen would actually be the honourable thing to do.

And then there is the fact that she seemingly is now tired of standing at the side lines, unable to do anything. She clearly wants to take action and have more influence on what is happening around her. So taking a side and becoming an active part in the war might be her way to do it. Whether it's smart in the long run is another question entirely.

My point is that her reasons for wanting to join Team Black do actually make a lot of sense even if one might think that her disagreements with Rhaenyra and Daemon are too great. If House Velaryon stayed out of the war, they would risk their grandchildren's deaths that might have been prevented if only they had helped when they could. All five of them are closely connected to Rhaenyra and Daemon and have no intention of just leaving; if they remained on Dragonstone and then died, House Velaryon would have no future. From Corlys' and Rhaenys' perspectives, there is probably nothing worse than that, even if for different reasons. Staying neutral for no other reason than a (completely justified) grudge, could possibly cost them more than joining the war would.

While Tecna is fight me mode when you insult her soft baby boy boyfriend. (9/10) One minus point for the senses drama in season 2.

Bloom x Sky

Idk, man. I think it started out pretty sweet. They became friends to lovers. Both are too shy and maybe unsure of their feelings for each other. Going on walks with the dog. Supporting each other and listening to the problems. Love that so much. Then the drama kicks in. He is engaged?? He is actually a prince??? LOVE the drama (not for my girl bloom. I love her and will fight you), but for ME, for my angsty self *chef kiss*. The scene where she walks through Magix when she makes the decision to leave, the heartbreak, the angst. Ughhh sooo good. Can't really remember a lot of the relationship in the other seasons. Although I do think they have sweet moments. Like in season 2, when they are on vacation and Sky stands watch to protect the girls and tells Bloom not to worry, he'll wake her first if something happens. Calling each other soulmates kinda cringe, kinda sweet. Overall average straight couple. (5.6/10)

Musa x Riven

I really don't wanna get heat for that one, but my God, adult me, is not happy. My teenage self, tho 👀. Loved the angst, drama, bad boy and girl in love, him getting together with the 'wrong' girl and then he transforms into the hero and comforts and falls in love with the 'right' girl. Love it! Season 1 really fed us well. Would applause the difference and complexity in all the relationships, BUT then they really went back to moody edge emo boy in crop tops. Bro. Riven could have been the best character and then they ruined him slowly building up to fuck him over in season 4. I could hardly watch that shit show. They had their moments, but yeah...(6/10).
