Thank you for correcting those ignorant Jason stans. Their headcanons of Jason being a good cook and enjoying fancy food are so seriously harmful.

Cass (who canonically lacks a lot of home skills and greatly enjoys eating other people's food) is one of the best cooks. Bruce (canonically a terrible cook who can't even make a sandwich) "does okay"—sure, it's your headcanon. Alfred, the classy British guy, is logically a great cook and "super posh". We can sum up Tim's unimpressive cooking skills just briefly.

But we need an entire section describing your headcanon about how Jason can't cook and needs to stick to "poverty comfort foods", because he comes from a poor background.

hm maybe i’m going to get flack for this, but i genuinely don’t understand how some self-claimed fic lovers can be the same people who a) pressure and harass writers into producing more and more stories, regardless of their current health or personal lives, b) pressure writers when they aren’t updating fast enough, again, regardless of their current health or personal lives, and c) now, apparently, feed their supposedly beloved writers’ stories into ai bots. it’s becoming incredibly disheartening and clear that some folks don’t care so much about writers and really care exclusively about feeding whatever greedy need they have to just consume.

Since Masters of the Air lends itself to a more episodic approach, each of these stories will take place as a series of short format pieces posted more or less in chronological order. Pavilioned In The Fields - Cordelia Callaway (John Egan x OFC)

Cordelia Callaway knows planes - she grew up building them and watching them be flown, and there is no one better in the entire Army Air Forces for keeping a level head while one of them comes in for a landing in flames. If the only way she can contribute to the war is making sure all these man land safely, then there's no one else you'd want in your control tower, because she doesn't do things by halves, either. Unfortunately, that also means holding grudges - and if you're the 100th's executive officer, that means you might be in for a very, very long war.

Your Best Girl - Fred Torvaldsen (John Brady x OFC)

Someone said this war would come with donuts, and Freda Torvaldsen is here to make sure they’re right. As a somewhat new replacement for the Red Cross Clubmobile team at Thorpe Abbotts, Freda - or Fred, as she's usually called - is still learning everyone’s name (and everyone is still learning hers!) but she’s confident with time that she’ll fit right in - and a certain clarinet-playing captain is hoping she fits right in with him.

Seek To Hold The Wind - Marion Brennan (Neil Harding x OFC)

It is one thing for the Army Air Forces to send planes out, and quite another to bring them back home. Someone must be there at the end, to gather all the pieces up to make sure what has just happened makes sense. That's Marion Brennan's job, and she's damn good at it - a life spent in the Army will do that to a woman. She's also here to do it without distractions - though a certain former football coach and commanding officer is making that rather difficult.

But still leaning on the side of disliking it. #My thoughts mainly changed after talking to certain ppl (who to my knowledge are either against or neutral on it). #Two things these ppl had in common was the fact that neither were proship and both thought ship discourse was dumb (which yeah agree) #(Also for reference I'm not proship either) #When talking with one of these people we were talking about Holydemon and the discourse surrounding it. #Which made me think... #Both Batmeat and Holydemon share something in common. And that's in both ships the characters canonically hate each other and one killed/- #injured the other. #And in no way in the canon (key word CANON) universe would they get along under any circumstances. #But then why is one more accepted over the other?? #And then I realised it has to do mostly with this weird mob mentality the fandom has coupled with the way both these ships are interpreted. #Based on my own experiences it seemed Batmeat was mostly enjoyed by the genuinely gross people in the fandom. #And by this I mean people that had gross intentions with the ship and wanted to interpret it in an abusive way. #Meanwhile Holydemon was created as a silly joke between the Spooky Month team that evolved from joke to people genuinely enjoying it. #To my knowledge Holydemon was never created out of ill intent but rather to be a silly joke + demon x priest old man yaoi funny. #But Batmeat was mostly used by pro/comshippers to fetishize/romanticise abuse. #(Please keep in mind I have seen a bunch of examples on Twt as the ship doesn't seem to be as big here on Tumblr and isn't much of a- #point of discussion). #(But I found that a lot of the known gross ppl in the fandom seemed to enjoy Batmeat which I can only assume left a bad taste in- #people's mouths. Because it sure as Hell did for me). #HOWEVER call me crazy but if Batmeat was created with the same intentions as Holydemon would people still find it gross or think it's a- #funny joke ship? #I dunno I've just been thinkin about it a lot lately. #Oh and another thing I noticed is a lot of the ship discourse in the fandom usually surrounds Bob so take that as you will. #For whatever reason he is the one character that not only broke but split the fandom in a way I have never seen in any previous fandoms- #I've been in. A little unpopular opinion on something I've seen happen more commonly throughout November/December and wanted to address quickly for my own blog: Please never hesitate to reblog anything from me. You see me reblogging a sentence starter list that you like? Go for it and reblog it from me directly without any pressure on you whatsoever to send anything into me before doing so. You like a GIF-set or musing that I reblogged? Nab it from me, it'll brighten my day to see that we share an interest in something. I like to see interaction between me and anyone who follows me. I like to see that little activity notification light up.

Honestly, it simply reminds me that we're all part of a community, and more specifically, a fandom that consists of characters and nations that we all came to love and then share that amongst ourselves. And honestly, seeing a reblog happen shortly after me but it's from the source, creates (in my opinion) an odd sense of chosen disconnect between people that can feel awkward, it's as if we're walking on eggshells as to not rub each other the wrong way. But what's wrong about going 'Hey, I see what you reblogged, I like it too!', it even gives you potential common ground to start a conversation. We're a community, and I don't know about you, but I like seeing people interact with each other beyond merely threads and notes. It's the little things that matter, after all.

People in this fandom will really look at The Fool, Patience, Lacey, Carson, Sedric, Hest, Davvie, Lecter, Kennit, Ash/Spark, and yes, even Fitz himself, and still have the gall to call it queer bait.

These characters are explicitly queer, their actions impact the narrative, they are well written, and their identities are treated with respect. That is the best possible queer representation you could ask for in any story.

I've seen people on tumblr basing the likelihood of if they read this series on whether or not it's "actually gay" and I'm here to tell you that it is. There are queer characters. There are queer protagonists. And no matter what you see people in the fandom say, Robin Hobb wrote some amazing queer representation in a genre that rarely sees it at all.

EDIT: and I think it's pertinent to note that, no, characters who are questioning or struggling with their feelings about sexuality instead of knowing 100% does not make something queer bait or "less gay"

TLDR;

Queer bait = disrespectful marketing ploy that exploits queer audiences

Queer bait ≠ "my two favorite characters never have sex"

I really do not encourage you to do this. For one it’s not very nice to have one fic writer discuss your idea/suggestion with you, maybe even write a Drabble or a fic etc, and then see that you didn’t actually care about it being from them specifically and that you went around asking other people.

Think of it this way: if you wanted something custom made, would you walk around asking every single person who does custom work to do the exact same thing for you? Doesn’t that mean that you don’t really care for the quality of the product you’re asking for? Doesn’t that also mean that you don’t actually care about WHO does it, you just want it done? Writers are not here just to pump out content for you.

If you sent me an idea or a request etc in my mind you sent it to me because you like interacting with me, or you wanted to know my specific thoughts on it, or you thought I was a person to come to with your thoughts. That kind of feeling goes away completely if I see that you didn’t actually care for my opinion specifically, you just sent the same ask to a bunch of other people. It just makes you feel like you are one of many people that they are hoping will just write for you, without concern for your individual sense of creativity or writing style etc.

While we’re on this topic, I also want to say that it is incredibly rude to take one person’s ideas and then suggest them to other writers and play it off as a suggestion in their ask box. I’ve seen this happening a lot lately and it’s very uncool. like the right thing to do here is if you see a writer make a post about an idea that you like, maybe ask them to elaborate, or nicely suggest that you would love to read a full length fic with that idea. The very rude thing to do is instead to ask someone else to write that idea. Do you think the author is not capable that you go to someone else? This is a community, people’s blogs are not places that you just stop and shop and take what you want and then leave.
