It’s always struck me as weird that NPMD ends with homecoming and not prom, because as a non-American, isn’t prom the quintessential American high school end trope thing??

Because of this I looked up what the actual difference is and holy shit homecoming takes place at the end of the first semester of the school year????? (Correction: turns out it’s actually around September/October which is roughly the end of the FIRST TERM)

So you’re telling me that not only do Steph, Grace and Pete have to process their trauma but also deal with SCHOOL????? FOR ANOTHER HALF A YEAR??????? AS HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS?????

When you idly think about Celegorm possibly being most like Nerdanel of all the sons of Feanor, and then you start thinking about Nerdanel getting a post-Darkening moral decay arc all of her own to mirror her son(s)'s.

My central celegorm thesis is that he becomes what he becomes because he has a specific moral/social worldview #that is actually heavily based on 1) common cultural understanding of said worldview and 2) direct positive intervention from the valar #like he is an acolyte of a specific god and that goes with specific rights and responsibilities for everyone involved #and once the noldor arrive in beleriand that specific framework *collapses* #because the valar can't be fucked and the amanyar don't have the same religious&cultural expectations #so he upholds his end of the bargain as long as he can (both emotionally and materially) #but when it all collapses (structural damage from what happened to ardehel #and then complete collapse from the bragollach) he breaks HARD #and I think there's space for something similar with Nerdanel #who was likely raised in fairly close contact with aule and who stays faithful to the valar as feanor starts to go off the rails #who makes all the 'right' choices! and her reward is the obliteration of her family #and quite likely at least some degree of social ostracization for her association with her husband and children #not sure what her final straw would be though #...possibly it could be celebrimbor's capture and death actually. hm. #Anyway! Ask game where izuku time travel and somehows saves hawks which leads for massive hero worship of him

1- izuku is yeeted backwards through time and crashes outside the shanty Tomie and Keigo lived in. Tomie hides and, curious, Keigo peaks outside to see a darkly costumed hero in a torn cape and cowl sparking lightning and spasming bits of darkness. he thinks that is very cool but also probably dangerous, ready to fly off.

Izuku, who looks around and has no idea where he is, sees the shack and heads closer to try and see if anyone is there and can tell him where he is

2- Tomie freaks and grabs Keigo to run, but Izuku is able to pretty easily catch up and pull out his hero license, apologizing for the scare and getting halfway through asking where he is when he stops because either Hawks has a secret lovechild that Shoto and Fumikage are going to go crazy about, or, this kid is just Hawks. which means he's time traveled. And he knows exactly what's going to go down, how the commission botches the war arc, leading him directly to the runnaway arc he was in the middle of- not to mention Keigo is like, six years old right now and looks just like all the other small kids Izuku's helped before.

3- Izuku is like "Hey, actually, can i like, buy you some food? or we can go to a safehouse? from your villain husband/father that i know about?" and that spooks Tomie enough that she tells Keigo to fly away as fast as he can, but he comes back in under a minute to help her, only to see Izuku letting her go back inside the house, and muttering to himself about how to help them.

He could try to hunt down All Might, but he doesn't know if his number is the same this far back, or the ramifications of dealing with time, or if Gran Torino will believe him, or if his teacher has even started at UA at this point, and Keigo lands and says he sounds like he knows a lot of heroes.

Danger Sense didn't warn Izuku and he's startled, but nods, saying the problem is a lot of them don't know him yet.

4- Izuku thinks about it for a while with the vestiges as he takes Keigo into town and brings food back to the home for dinner, figuring out what he should do because none of them know what to do about time travel. Eventually, he decides to take Third's advice- he doesn't know any heroes that will believe him or can risk causing a paradox with, but he does know a hero he can blackmail whose life choices he probably can't make any worse.

To say that Endeavor is surprised when some stranger waving a hero license in the air and carrying two civilians with his quirk lands in his front yard is an understatement.

5- Izuku gets Enji to talk with him in his office while he shoves Tomie and Keigo at Rei and the three todokids, telling him everything- that he's from the future, that he can prove it with a lot of information that he really shouldn't have and a very legit license from the future, and that if Izuku is about right about when he time traveled, Rei is very recently pregnant with Shoto so Enji better get it together before Touya tries to kill the infant threatening to replace him as central piece in the mini eugenics experiment he decided to run. He tells him off for caring about the ranking system more than the reason heroes exist, warns him that he should probably see if he can stop the commission from training the kid they currently are training to be their super illegal and immoral assassin before she snaps and kills the president, and then decides 'oh what the hell, predictions of death have been great motivators in mine and All Might's experience!' and tells Enji that unless he wants to be killed by a quirk affected Shoto minutes after killing Touya, he'll prevent that future by changing things right now.

Izuku leaves the office with a stunned Enji and announces that Endeavor oh so kindly offered to make sure that Tomie and Keigo have safe housing and food. He ruffles Keigo's hair, tells him that he should be proud of working so hard to improve his quirk so quickly that he's practically faster than Izuku, who was so bad with his quirk originally that it was out of control and broke his own bones, recommends Touya look into Sheild Industries for support tech, waves at a shy Fuyumi, and then slips the kids a phone number for absolute emergencies with the passcode 'one for all' written on it. Then he leaves.

Keigo watches him go and announces that he must be the greatest hero ever, and Keigo is going to be just like him one day.

Touya takes offense since obviously Endeavor is the greatest hero and then Touya will be. Keigo looks at the still stunned Enji, then back at the very cool multi quirk silhouette, and decides that Touya's tastes cannot be trusted.

+1- Several years later, Endeavor watches the sports festival and pulls out his phone, calling Touya and only saying "no" because he knows that Touya is also watching and seeing the bone breaking kid who looks just like the hero from ages ago. Touya protests that he didn't want the kid for internships anyway, just thought he must be that old heroe's son. Enji goes 'nah, it's him, before he time traveled' and does not elaborate even as Touya asks if he's joking. Keigo is already filing the paperwork for the internship, and says he already knew that, because Izuku muttered a lot- but he's not going to let him vanish without a word this time! not to mention, his agency is going to be the one to make the first official merch that Keigo has been dying to collect for over a decade now. Touya questions Keigo's tastes, and Izuku ends up picking another agency.

here's the thing, right. like. okay, let's take everything up to the title showing up as the 'origin' style opening for dai, where you establish character. but like. literally what about that opening establishes character. you get brought to the chantry in haven where they briefly discuss executing you before declaring the inquisition. you can either begrudgingly support the people who have actively threatened you repeatedly or you can go uwu i'd love to help you guys out im so excited to be working with you. like. hello.

#throughout most of the haven stuff you don't get to develop your own opinions on anything. key information is shoved into codexes with #no other information or dialogue contradicting what was said. if you do express an opinion the game goes out of it's way to have every #single companion hammer you over the head with the 'correct' opinion. and for some reason they're almost ALL on the same page. #for example. DORIAN advocating for the circles so southern thedas doesn't ''become like tevinter'' like hello what. WHAT. #magic dangerous. apostates bad. blood magic evil. wardens bad. tevinter evil. qunari evil. dalish bad and stupid. ferelden bad and stupid. #chantry good! templars good! seekers good! orlais good! colonialism good! #like somehow. ALL OF THEM. #when it's to that extent like it's clear they're trying to push you towards some kind of conclusion. rather than letting you make your own. #or even be able to express it. #historicwomendaily #elizabeth woodville #Elizabeth really had terrible in-laws #And these people weren't even the worst of them - that particular award goes to Richard of Gloucester #As complicated as her first widowhood sounds it was a breeze compared to the literal nightmare she went through during her second. #Honestly though: part me wonders what Elizabeth's first marriage was like because we know absolutely nothing about it. #The marriage itself is a blank slate but the fact that her husband's parents & siblings were so indifferent and uncooperative #to her - and their own kid-grandchildren?? - after he died indicates that his family may have been rather dysfunctional imo? #Certainly they (or most of them) don't seem to have cared about the wellbeing or dignity of his young and newly widowed wife which #doesn't exactly suggest closeness or support during the marriage itself from their end. #Elizabeth doesn't mention John Gray in her deathbed will either though she mentions Edward IV. She may have thought it was #'inappropriate' to mention her first husband beside her significantly higher-ranked second husband...but she DOES mention her son by #her first marriage - which would have drawn attention to it anyway - alongside her royal daughter so that's unlikely to have been a reason. #Maybe it was simply the passage of time? She and John had been married for very few years and she lived such a different life after that #So it's possible that her first marriage simply seemed very distant and faraway to her. #Alternatively it may have simply been undivided affection for Edward IV (her husband of 19 years who she married for love) #which fits well into the relatively personal nature of her will. #Of course we don't actually know anything about any of this and this is all pure wild speculation on my end...but I'm curious. #It's really a shame how little we actually know about Elizabeth's life - made worse by the very limited primary records of Edward IV's #reign and the fact that his chamber records don't survive. And it's even more frustrating that this is so rarely actually acknowledged #by historians. I'd argue we know far more about the life & interests of most other 'prominent' women of the Wars of the Roses #(sans the Neville sisters) than we do about Elizabeth Woodville.

#and now i will explain them all in detail #cos i started watching hannibal back in like. january or february and will immediately set up camp in my head and started to settle there #*I* pay rent to *HIM*. he lives there permanently. sweating and monologuing constantly #em was not only the character of 2022 but also of 2023 and of 2024 and the rest of the decade and all decades to come #she had such an impact on me keke palmer's performance will live with me forever and i love nope so fucking much #i almost didnt include her because nope was more of a last year obsession. but she lives on #aziraphale.........no comment #severance.......i love them all so much and at first i wanted just irving and then just helly and then i realise i cried over mark this week #and then i realised i couldnt possibly leave out dylan when hes probably my favourite character. so then i settled for all of them #hawkeye is my fucking wife. enough said #martha... well i knew i had to have a doctor who character. i thought maybe the doctor but then i thought their companions mean more to me #sometimes at least. i did have a fourteen icon for a while but then i was like but Donna..... and then i thought. well #these past few months at least martha jones has been eating away at my heart. i go batshit insane when i think about her #her impact. her grace. her power. so she had to go on the list.it was a toss up between her and donna for sure though #then i figured i had to include a karamazov since reading that book took up half of my year. and ivan was my favourite of the 3. so <3 #kim goes without saying. literally nothing to be said hes the character Of All Time. to me #stewy also goes without saying ive had so many Stewy Save Me moments since the beginning of season 4 all the way to the end of the year #i miss him every day. he is the moment. i wish there was more of him all the time #and the last one is a bit of a wildcard cos all my insanity abt melshi has been on my andor sideblog. #but rest assured ive been thoroughly Not Normal about him. he literally side appears in 4 episodes and has 11 total minutes onscreen #but i love him. so much. and hes occupied most of my thoughts since september. once again his impact his power his grace. his homosexuality #enough said. that's all. thanks for reading. this was a great year for autism and madness #tag game #🍪
