Nations and Nature
Nations represent both the Land and the People. They cannot live without having a population to represent, just as they cannot survive if they have no Land to claim as their own. They are, after all, strange beings that are part nature and part human.
But what else does nature affect a Nation? We know the Land grants the Nation their semi-immortality, knowledge of their history and the innate ability to sense other Nations crossing their Land. But there's also the little things, such as:
Knowing the flora: Since Nations represent nature, they have the ability to recognize local plants and flowers. By focusing on a plant, they get a general idea of what it is: name, time of bloom, benefits, etc. It's one of the reasons they have vast knowledge of natural medicine. Having a green thumb is a given.
Disney princess syndrome: Like plants, Nations have an affinity with the local wildlife. They don't talk to animals by any means, but Nations have a calming presence that puts them at ease up to a certain point. They share the Land, they coexist as long as they don't disturb each other. A wildlife photographer would be a perfect career for a Nation.
Finding water: While nature can be harsh and merciless, the Land is a Nation's home. They can't get lost in their Land, especially since they always know where their Heart, the capital, is at all times. But if they're far from civilization, it's instinct to find the closest water source. It's a bit harder if a Nation is in another Land, but possible if they focus enough, or even if Nature deems you worthy of its help.
Give me shelter: Similar to finding water, Nations have no problem looking for shelter. They're excellent survivalists and quite resourceful thanks to their knowledge of the flora and fauna. For baby/young nations, Nature has a soft spot for them, mostly because it sees them as little saplings, and will guide a Nation toward the safest place (a leaf flying in one direction, a rock falling to catch their attention, an animal blocking their path, etc). In fact, young Nations have an easier time blending in and hiding when surrounded by nature.
Get out: In times of war and conflict, a Nation in another Land will get a feeling of unease when entering a forest or traversing a mountain. Nature does not recognize you as their Nation, and it will let you know. After all, invading a Nation's land is akin to breaking into someone's house. So, if you find yourself more prone to stumble over a rock, or find the wild berries a bit more bitter, or suddenly find your food invaded by ants, well, that's just Nature telling you to get lost.
Touching grass: It's a known fact that Nations love being close to nature, whether it be by going hiking, swimming in a lake, camping, etc. Walking barefoot on natural ground feels amazing; a sense of peace washes over a Nation when connecting directly with their Land. It's why most Nations don't like spending too much time in big cities. Walking on asphalt, roads and man-made parks just feels off to them.
Gentle repose: If a Nation dies while surrounded by nature, it will keep the Nation safe from the elements until they come back to life (branches curving to protect them from the rain, covering the body in vines/roots/leaves, keeping the critters away from them, etc). However, if a Nation dies for good, if it's truly a Fade, then Nature will reclaim the Nation back into the Land, leaving a patch of flowers as a reminder of who laid there.

hello zero am I allowed to ask which bllk guys would make for the LEAST normal relationships? 👀
yes of course... i had to think about this one but ive concluded
shidou - its unconventional overall. we all know why hes here lets be real but his insanity aside i just think he is like. strange in relationships like he does actually like you theres just something really wrong with him and how he expresses it. he's going to get ur name branded on his ass or something insane like that
rin - i think he has like. a weird obsession with you that he masks with apathy but he gets like homicidal about you liking other people sometimes. then goes back to doing whatever.
he has like. the emotional processing capacity of a peanut. and he has no idea how to treat you either so its just ??? he is nice and out of his mind at once. his range really
KARASU - idk if you've met him yet but im telling everyone that guy is a freak. that guy is going to play very strange mindgames with you. his hobby is literally...analyzing people. his character flaw? treating mediocre people with disrespect. i feel like trying to navigate a relationship with him is like an episode of black mirror
ness - this guy is like canonically fucking obsessed with his teammate and threatens to kill isagi for stealing his attention. hes like in the bastard munchen arc and he is soooo sexy to me but like. CANON yandere. absolute nutcase he is sooooo fucked in the head.

Halsin’s quote about “resentment will spring up regardless like mushrooms” (or something along those lines) lives in my head anytime something happens. It’s the first thing that comes to mind whenever I find myself resenting someone else or when someone is acting negatively about me.
And the quotes:
“No matter how long I live, I will always strive to remain a keen pupil. Only a hook would think he could drink in all knowledge until none is left”
“You sound like a student, reciting words for a test without considering their meaning.”
“Sometimes I think conventional wisdom is too narrow about what someone can or can’t be.”
“Natures tapestry is infinitely complex”
So on and so forth, I could create an entire list of quotes but that’s for another time. Like the writer of Halsin absolutely slaughtered, dare I say decimated. As a writer it’s so amazing to see just what people can write. It may be mundane, but the idea that someone wrote that, spent time writing that, is amazing. I don’t see glory in the mundane, because what you call mundane is glorious, and isn’t that what we call poetry? (okay so yeah I took that out a poem I wrote while sick and added more words to chunk it up, but my post my rules I can ramble all I want).
And the voice actor? Absolutely pulls it all together. The delivery of the lines absolutely amazing and I think that’s part of why they stick with me so much. The way someone talks can be a make or break of whether or not you actually pay attention and take weight as to what they’re saying. I think everyone has had that one really boring history teacher who all you remember is how boring they were and the way they spoke, so kinda like that. You probably get the concepts, but nothing else. But when someone talks good you pay more attention and are more likely to y’know take weight to what they say. The way the voice actor did Halsin is just so top tier.

Hellii Hellooo
Ignore my previous message, my keyboard was being STUPID and submitted it-
Anyway-
1) Does Pico know or understand the concept of a 'date'?
2) If yes, do Pico & Bao go on dates?
3) & if yes again, are they rare or common occasions?
I witness ALL MOON👀👀👀
lmao hoi anyways
I'd think so yes! I'd consider Pico being the one to ask out Bao, cuz where he grew up the animals he'd see when it came to courting each other they make their point very upfront, so if he takes interest in someone he's just gonna go for it. Plus he sees his uncles Warren and Hypno all the time and can already tell how smitten they are with other, he's no stranger to that.
Also yesssss!! I haven't drawn anything yet for them cuz I wanna draw their first meeting with each other first and foremost before I do sweetsy stuff (whenever that comes to pass)
Okay Date stuff or more like outings tho. I think Bao would enjoy taking Pico out around the Hidden City, showing him all of his favourite spots, catching in the sights etc. Pico would love it, but he still is basically a farmboy, so I think he could only handle being in large crowds and the overwhelming bustling city for so long and stick by Bao's side so they don't get separated once the wonder wears off. Bao would take this into account and try to think of areas where it's less noisy and crazy. On Pico's end of setting up dates, he'd invite him out to the forest, maybe spend some time with the dogs, go on picnics or hikes/walks. It's a good break for Bao too since he's busy running the tea shop all the time and could go for some peace and relaxation once in a while.
3. Hmmmmmmm I'd say they'd happened pretty frequently :3

I know that we’re all waiting and excited for Euron Greyjoy to serve the Eldritch apocalypse in TWOW, but frankly I’m more interested in what Jon and Bran will be up to. Bran is probably spending the majority of the book under the tutelage of Bloodraven (and potentially breaking from it). He’s probably going to unlock, or rather expand, new powers and there could be elements of greenseer magic that we probably haven’t seen yet.
Then we have Jon who, post-resurrection, will have magic crashing into him like a dump track: old god magic, R’hllor magic, and all that other weird stuff he can do. All the powers he’s been suppressing in ADWD will come spilling out and I’d imagine part of TWOW will be Jon trying to adjust to this magic as he’s going through all this rage and resentment (brought on by learning the truth of his parentage and dealing with the betrayal at castle black). I expect TWOW to have Jon in a really dark place and there’s the chance that magic will spill out as he (understandably) lashes out; whether he’s using magic knowingly or unknowingly, who knows. There’s even potential for Jon to get a magic mentor in the form of Melisandre; though it’s unclear how long Mel will hang around at the Wall because she needs to get back to Stannis so that the Shireen-bonfire can happen.
And - this is pure speculation on my part - TWOW seems to be the one book where magic is dialed up to 1000; I’m envisioning magic in this book to be a constantly pulsating element that as some point bursts into a huge explosion. With the Others coming and whatever Euron’s doing (and potentially Dany and her dragons), magic should have a heightened presence which makes me think that Jon and Bran are going to be experiencing some upscaling in terms of raw power. As magic becomes more and more prominent, Jon and Bran will do bigger more impressive things. I really cannot wait to see what they pull off in this book.
