Highlighting a part of the Kirsten interview that @parisian-nicole shared.
Maybe today's bullshit episode is part of the "other satisfaction" between the Garvez satisfaction.
Crossing ALL THE FINGERS that we're in the "Aww man" stage and the "Wait, what?" stage is coming and it leads to real Garvez.
Trying so hard to be hopeful but goddamn I am so dejected right now.

This is your daily reminder to all eligible Americans to get out and FUCKING VOTE RIGHT THE FUCK NOW (or on Tuesday, depending on where you live). No, this won't be settled by 5pm next Wednesday (and expect at the very least a massive amount of caterwauling about fraud from the right, if not outright violence), but let's make it absolutely uncontestable as we can. Please please please vote.

Wonderful Things That May or May Not Be Wonderful!!! Hey kids! You know who likes tall grass? Nobody. I mean who wants tall grass around? You know what tall grass is good for? Hiding in. You know what hides in tall grass. All sorts of nasty stuff. Ticks. Rabid badgers. Lost LEGO pieces. Random encounters. Things that can and will cause you bodily harm. Plus, tall grass will make your lawn not look as nice. It will slowly break into your house, make cracks in your foundation, and steal your life settings. So what can you do? Get one of us lawnmowers to help you out! Why! Because we also hate tall grass! We want to make it suffer. We want tall grass to know its place as short grass and we have the means to do it. Whether you push us, we pull you, or you ride us, we will do everything in our power to mercilessly shave every last blade of grass until it is of reasonable length. As long as you take proper care of us and give us a shed to call home, we will be there for you and we won 't break into your house and steal your life savings. This has been your friendly neighborhood Bobba Swaggletooth here to tell you that tall grass is evil, lawnmowers are wonderful, and gasoline prices are still way too high. Bobba Swaggletooth away. (This PSA has brought to you by a bored human being with way too much time on his hands)

That Wattpad psa gives me flashbacks to being a young artist on the early days of DeviantArt and being absolutely terrified that those YouTubers who got popular off the trend of making fun of “cringe DA ocs” and “terrible DA art” (which were mostly things made by young teens and preteens) would find my account and “expose me for being a bad artist” under the excuse of “just critiquing”. Long story short I didn’t even know people still did that sort of thing let alone without credit to the og author and I’m sorry y’all have to deal with that shit
Anon I’m so sorry that you had to live in fear like that. It fucking sucks. The only thing the YouTuber did was link back the original story but that doesn’t make it right, and quite frankly, makes it even easier for trolls to find these victims and harass them further if they wanted. My only relief was seeing that those videos had such little interactions. I reported their accounts.
My biggest fear has been someone ripping off my stories but now it’s this, taking my passions I made for myself and decided to share with the world, to be dissected and commented upon like it’s their job to do it. Let people live their lives unapologetically and if someone has to use others peoples work - and rate them as “worst” - to gain the attention they so desperately crave, well then I hope they step on legos daily and that their car tire pressure constantly leaks. Assuming they’re even old enough to drive cause ofc they didn’t put an age on their accounts😒

Bad Batch Ep. 14 (?) Spoilers Mt. Tantiss Base - A Review
Review of Mt. Tantiss Base, submitted by a non-architectural expert nonetheless possessed of some modicum of common sense 1. Have a way around the death jungle 2. Stop putting all of these crates in hangar bays. Seriously. Move them. No crates allowed. Every rebellion agent ever has somersaulted for cover behind some convenient crates at least once their lifetime. Statistically, it's got to be the biggest base-killer and expenditure cost the Empire has 3. Have someone check-pointing an actual check point, like the hangar bay door instead of the hangar bay open space (with CRATES IN IT) 4. Have full-body intimidating blue scans that actually do more than "oh, you have some organic flesh here, you must be authorized!" 5. Do not put the gigantic Zillo monster that you knew had to be coming -- because some people (squints at Filoni) absolutely cannot have a Star Wars climax without a Large Beastie with a Semi-Righteous Vendetta -- in close proximity to your most closely guarded Force-sensitive prisoners 5. Do not have vents. No vents. Let them all suffocate 6. And, of course, the biggest one: Stop making your prison cell walls out of removable LEGO bricks. Basically:

when AJR sang “don’t throw out my legos, what if I can’t let go, what if I come back home, can we keep my legos at home, ‘cause I wanna move out I don’t wanna move on” and then followed it up with “I’ll come by when I’m gone, it won’t be the same though, I can’t even go home”
unparalleled. sends me into hysterics every time.

Okay y’all remember how in the original Lego Star Wars game during the Jedi Temple level in ROTS the clones were disguised as Jedi?? And how in the ROTS novel the clones do the same thing??
Well apparently that was meant to be a real fucking scene and you can go and watch a brief clip of it and you truly have not experienced euphoria until you’ve witnessed it for yourself

I just saw your post about Tommy and had no idea he was a racist or a sexist :( I seriously used to love that man because I thought the way he responded to some people on twitter was funny and I watched his interview with Brent Miller. He seemed like a cool guy nooo
hmmm couple things to unpack here:
1) the words added to my original post, most notably by user @/nonbinarykai are not mine, nor does that person speak for me. I did not use the words racist or sexist in my post, which centered around my belief that mr Andreasen does not put a lot of love into the show and I don't think he's fit to be the show runner.
2) I do, nonetheless, think there is some truth to those claims, though perhaps with slightly more nuance. I think Tommy is very much responsible for the insensitive and tonally-off jokes from the early seasons — he's the creative director and he has the final call on everything. However, I also think the early seasons were a larger product of their time and the kind of humor many shows allowed on air, particularly since Ninjago was marketed towards young boys. It doesn't actually surprise me that they would implement this more mocking/insensitive type humor, whether it's towards girls or unmanly men or whatever. Finally, I am not a believer in judging people off mistakes they made a decade ago if they have made an effort to change. I do, in some ways see that effort, even if the execution doesn't always match.
However in large part, I do still hold a strong grudge toward him due to the money he and lego make off the bastardization of asian culture, as well as the complete lack of any kind of apology for the earlier mistakes. If there was some remorse shown I could probably be motivated to forgive him, but that doesn't seem to be the case. So, in the end, do I think he's a racist and a sexist? Well, I think he's condoned racism and sexism in his show, and what is art except a representation of the artist? I think he's exhibited a long history of ignorant and thoughtless behavior that he shows little awareness of. But I do hesitate to use such strong labels when there doesn't seem to be an active malignant intent.
3) the insight we gain from something like a filmed interview is so preciously little compared to the vastness of a person's life, career, and morals. this has been a psa to criticize your own parasocial relationships, particularly those with white men in positions of power.

Alerting people in the Ninjago fandom a generalized PSA about me
Just know I have multiple accounts and no I don't care enough about them they are one of the anonymous ones that pop up just the throw aways and no I'm not doing that to fear monger, I'm just letting you all know that's how much I don't care. I actually have them to make sure that the person didn't end up deleted and that they 100% blocked me on this account.
It's like Calypsolemon how many years has it been and I didn't even know you blocked me until I went on to my alt account and noticed you had posted some art that's how much I don't care.
To those that have blocked me let alone on multiple accounts it is up to you whether or not you still want me to support you because honestly that is how neutral I am that is how much I do not care I just want to help people share their art, so it is your choice
I'm not going to stalk, I'm not going to do any of that. During a couple situations in the last couple of months I could have done that, but I didn't that's what I get treated as when I have never done that.
It is disrespectful it's terrifying and it's not okay to continue to harass someone after they block you. This is just a PSA about me it's your choice whether you want me to continue to support you or not thank you for reading this and I hope you all have a good day afternoon and night

Legobiwan's tip of the day: If you find yourself driving through the desert during the height of summer (or any other unnaturally hot region), and you *still* haven't gotten around to fixing your car's AC, and your phone is prone to overheating -
Buy two cold drinks at the gas station and nestle that phone between them. You'll be good for at least two hours.

im sorry if this is a weird ask but i feel dumb and you talk about issues in the monkie kid fandom. off tumblr i keep seeing asian artists in asian countries drawing the characters as humans with yellow skin. and I know that is bad and it makes me super upset to see it! but because they're asian i also feel bad for getting upset at them because people say to listen to asian fans. but these are asian fans doing a thing asian fans tell people not to do. am i bad for being upset at them?
Hi, this isn’t a weird ask at all ^^ and you most certainly are not dumb
And I don’t think you’re bad at being upset for them. Even without the racist context, humans aren’t supposed to be drawn with yellow skin
But with the racist context, it’s incredibly bad. Asians have had a history of people using yellow skin as an insult towards them, although I know there are attempts to reclaim that. I don’t have much to say on the reclaiming bit because despite being Asian myself, I’m only half and am a little disconnected from that side.
There’s also a possibility that they don’t realize it’s a harmful thing. Despite it having a history of being used for harm, there are people who don’t realize it’s an insult which is horrible. They either don’t realize how wrong it is because they don’t personally see a problem with it, they don’t think about it or something other reason, I don’t know, it’s still bad.
Even with the artists being Asian, there is a possibility they flat out don’t realize it’s harmful. They should know or at least learn because it’s been used against them in racist contexts
I still don’t get why you would want to draw humans with yellow skin in the first place even if that part didn’t exist, humans just aren’t supposed to be yellow.
I think this is a small PSA to the Monkie Kid fandom and I am not trying to call anybody out here. Please don’t draw people yellow skinned when not in lego form because yellow skin has been used as a slur. If you put some human feature while making them mostly lego then color them yellow that is still bad since they have some human feature. Also if they’re lego, they’re not supposed to have human features but if you do add one, don’t make color them yellow, just give them a normal skin tone. I’ve seen art where they give them a full human body or mostly human features then slap on a yellow skin tone… just… just why?
And honestly I’ve done something where I’ve reblogged art that I didn’t realize was actively harmful rather it was trying to be or not and I am trying to be better when I look at a piece of artwork so I hope that people are better when they examine Monkie kid content or think more about the things they want to create for the fandom.
You’re not wrong for being upset at people especially Asian artists who should know of the slur that was used against their ancestors and in some cases continues to be used today.
Also I’m glad you’re doing your best to listen to Asian voices, anon ^^! I think that’s great for people to try to actively listen to POC or just another race or ethnicity
If those Asian fans are doing something that the majority consider harmful then it is extremely upsetting especially if it’s something related to a slur. You are not bad or wrong for being upset at something that they should know about. It is extremely disheartening for people to not realize how detrimental it is.

Haunted Houses
Written as a special treat for Halloween and for @tonystarkbingo
Title of Fill: Haunted Houses Collaborator: iam93percentstardust Card Number: 4012 Link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/20504642/chapters/66707110 Square Filled: K5 - Ghosts Ship/Main Pairing: Tony&Bucky, pre-Stuckony Rating: G Major Tags/Warnings/Triggers: Past Major Character Death, Howard Stark's A+ Parenting Summary: Bucky decides that he doesn’t want to move toward the light after he dies. Instead, he settles down where he’s always lived and keeps everyone else out by haunting the place. He meets his match though in Steve, a real estate agent who’s too stubborn to give up on the house, and Tony, recently come into his inheritance and looking for a place to hide. Word Count: 1151
When Tony is twenty years old, his godfather murders his parents. That would be bad enough but Obie doesn’t stop there. First there’s his parents, and then Obie tries to go after the company, and then when Tony finds the proof he needs to have Obie convicted of double dealing, the man tries to have him murdered too. By the time Obie’s trial is over, Tony has cut Ty out of his life, sold the mansion on Park Avenue, and had his first meeting with a realtor too hot to be allowed.
“So Tony, what dream home are you interested in?” Steve, the realtor too hot to have such a boring name, asks him.
Tony fingers the corners of the photo he’d tucked into his wallet. He’d found the picture a couple weeks ago when he had been going through his mom’s things. It’s a picture of him when he’d been much younger holding hands with someone invisible. It had stirred something in his memory, some vague thoughts of a brownstone that he and his mom had escaped to whenever Howard had been in one of his moods. He had flipped the picture over to see a caption on the back in his mom’s neat penmanship: Tony and Bucky at the house on Rose Street. That’s right: Bucky and the only happy memories of Tony’s childhood.
“A brownstone,” he tells Steve, the too hot realtor. He doesn’t want to sound like he already has the house he wants in mind. He draws a circle on Steve’s map in a wide radius around Stark Tower. He’s pretty fortunate that the brownstone isn’t too far from either his parents’ mansion or the tower, although, now that he’s thinking about it, maybe that’s why his mom had picked this one over all others. “Around this area.”
Steve looks at it, humming doubtfully. “Lot of retirees in this area. Might not be a whole lot of places up for sale,” he says and then hurries to reassure him, “But I’ll see what I can do!”
“I don’t much like people,” Bucky says, helping Tony put the next Lego on his tower.
“You like me,” Tony points out.
Bucky gives him a broad grin. “That’s cause you’re my Tony Cat. You’re special.”
If Bucky is still anything like how he used to be, he’d be willing to bet that house is up for sale again, or will be soon. Ghosts can be vicious little monsters when they want to be. There’s a reason there are all those PSAs on what to do if you’ve got a stubborn ghost living in your house.
A wave of doubt rushes over him. Sure Bucky had liked him back then but that was then. This is now. He’s not the same little boy he used to be and he definitely remembers Bucky telling him once that it’s adults that he really doesn’t like. For all he knows, Bucky has forgotten all about him. Maybe Bucky has a dozen small children that he’s treated like they’re special over the years. Howard’s told him often enough that he isn’t special. Maybe it’s time he believes it.
But…
He thinks back over the memories he’d shared with Bucky, the peace he had felt every time he so much as stepped foot inside the door of the brownstone, and makes his decision. No, Bucky might not remember him but this is what he needs right now. He’s tired, exhausted after the long months of dealing with Obie, Ty, and SI. He needs a break away from it all and since he can’t actually take a holiday without causing a stock market crash, being able to have his own little hideaway is perfect.
“That’s all I ask for,” he says quietly and ducks away to hide a blush when Steve smiles at him.
~
Steve takes him to five houses before they finally end up at Bucky’s brownstone on Rose Street. Tony has managed to find something wrong with all of the other houses except for one and that one, he was able to be sufficiently lackluster about that Steve had made a frustrated sound, promised him that they would find his perfect house, and dragged him away.
“That last place was okay,” he protests quietly as Steve guides him up the steps of Bucky’s brownstone with a hand on the small of his back. Steve’s hand is bleeding warmth through his jacket, even in the late autumn chill, and he finds himself pressing back into it.
Easy boy, you just got over Ty.
“It wasn’t okay, you didn’t even look at the breakfast nook,” Steve informs him. “I’m going to find you a house you’ll actually love.”
Steve sticks the key in the lock and opens the door, his friendly smile immediately dropping into a sharp glare as he catches sight of something inside the house. Tony frowns curiously, trying to shift into a position where he could see the inside but he can’t.
“I’m not gonna lie to you. This house comes with a ghost but Bucky’s a real sweetheart long as you treat him right,” Steve tells him as he steps aside, letting Tony into the house.
Almost immediately, Tony is awash with memories of a time when things were better, simpler even. A time when he had spent all of his free time with his mom, playing with Bucky, never thinking about having to impress Howard or placating shareholders or having to keep an eye out over his shoulder for Obie’s assassins.
“I don’t care,” he says softly, looking around the foyer for Bucky.
And there he is, gently letting go of a lamp that looks like it’s been repaired several times. So that’s what Bucky does to people he doesn’t like; he does a poltergeist routine. It doesn’t really surprise him. Tony remembers Bucky having a bit of a mischievous streak when he’d been a child. He bites back a smile.
“Hi,” Bucky says, his outline abruptly solidifying the way it does when he goes from invisible to visible. Tony wonders if Steve can see Bucky when he’s invisible too or if he’d been glaring at what must have looked like a floating lamp.
“Hey,” he murmurs. There’s no indication that Bucky remembers him even the slightest bit and he bites back a wince. He’d told himself not to get his hopes up, hadn’t he?
He keeps an eye on Bucky as Steve shows him around the house. It’s the same as he remembers it, just a little more musty, and his resolve firms with every step he takes. So maybe Bucky doesn’t remember him. That’s okay, they can become friends again. This house is exactly what he needs.
“I’ll take it,” he says, startling Steve.
“I—really?” Steve asks, shooting a glance at Bucky, who nods. He wonders what that’s all about.
“Yeah,” Tony says, nodding resolutely. “I’ll take it.”
