leans into the mic. "saying all men are trash in response to the various ccs getting outed as abusers is the wrong move and will harm male victims of abuse and sa" and "the reason these male ccs were able to abuse people and cover it up for so long is because of rampant misogyny in the content creating space and it's important to listen to the women coming out with their stories right now" are statements that coexist. btw

All the jokes about Ken and horses are good but I just wanna say it's such a good parallel to how actual young men get swept into misogyny and the patriarchy.
Like they're told to believe it means men get to be cool and manly and have this power but with that comes extremely rigid commands of what they can be as a man and a cycle of self hatred for never matching those gender roles perfectly. Patriarchy tells men that if they just do exactly what is expected of them, then they get all the "cool stuff" that comes with. That doesn't work though when there's only a small group that actually gets that power, but men will keep trying to fit into those roles in hopes that they can.
In the end there are no horses or the myth men are told, it's just endless cycles of self hatred and ingroup fighting.

what I was talking abt earlier. we have fully looped back around and away from feminism, societally, whereas before it was very Feminism 101 to acknowledge that many parts of existing as a woman in a misogynistic society are painful and upsetting.
not that being a woman is Inherently Negative in a bubble. but that living on this earth, in the conditions we're living in, is hostile to women.
and that gender is a performance. that many of the Staples Of Femininity as accepted by society are things that you have to create and perform and mold artificially and aren't inherent, that COMPLAINING about day to day difficulties of existing as a woman is something that you're allowed to do.
acknowledging these basic, again, feminism 101 things, that something tied to womanhood is more time consuming or more expensive or more dangerous Because Of The Problems. does not CREATE the problems. that when women complain about having to perform femininity, they are not, in fact, oppressing themselves. the call does not come from inside the fucking house.
saying that you HAVE suffered does not fucking equate that you believe you SHOULD have suffered.
like I could talk about this for hours. how braindead and one-dimensional the Takes are getting. "being a woman is looking in the mirror and going fuck yeah i'm a woman" damn. I guess any negative experiences you have by living in a misogynistic world... are your fault if you are anything but positive?
"you don't actually want liberation" we've fully gone back to telling feminists "you WANT to be oppressed" when anything negative about our society is pointed out. it's not real until I say it out loud, I guess, and then I'm actually the one who caused it.
if anybody expresses any unhappiness with how they're treated or the status quo or the language and culture surrounding womanhood and femininity. they've created it, right that second. they invented it just now. it wasn't a problem before somebody complained, right?
also trans women aren't braindead zombies who just follow the flow of whatever cis women around them say. I am pretty fucking sure they are very much aware of pain, and are MORE than aware of the swirling torrent of misogyny and standards of femininity than anybody else. actually. and I am pretty sure someone complaining on tumblr that being a woman means always putting on a performance is going to make someone change their mind about transitioning. also "performing femininity" as a necessity to being treated well as a woman is not fucking NEWS to your Local Trans Woman. I AM PRETTY SURE SHE GETS THE CONCEPT. using trans women as a scapegoat for this braindead perspective on gender politics is spineless, meritless, and pathetic.

i am very aggressively protective over nonbinary people who look amab because some of you are very quick to accept nonbinary people who look afab but shit on anyone else.
and stop saying "afab nonbinary" and "amab nonbinary" because we all know you're just treating us like "female" and "male" which, yk is the exact opposite of what nonbinary is meant to be.
treat nonbinary people like nonbinary people, nothing else.

Memory
Blade & GN!Reader
A/N: more vague potential romantic relations with Blade also a little sad?
-------
Blade doesn't remember what happened last week again, this isn't the first time nor will it be the last. You don't make a fuss over it, gently reminding him about the past weeks events to him as you sit by his side flipping through some documents.
His eyes are distant but you can tell he's listening with minor interest though his eyes squint as he does. It's all vaguely familiar but the memories so far away after his recent Mara flare up. But you understand his mind while not broken is fractured so much it's hard to keep memories whole.
Though you wish he did remember more, you're happy he remembers you even if it's just scattered pieces.
How he always seeks you out even if he doesn't remember your face half of the time.
How he lets you into his space and ramble away even if he won't recall what you've said.
How he protects you, keeping your enemies attention on himself.
How he finds you during your most vulnerable moments and keeps you company though he can offer little comfort.
It's alright if Blade doesn't remember because you do. You remember, you'll always remember for him and treat him as you've always have regardless if he'll never recognize you completely.

Personally I don't actually see Sam as a woman in a literal sense and I understand the term "woman-coded" isn't totally free of baggage but to me it's more about being boxed and perceived in a certain way that colors the pattern of treatment he experiences by the narrative that feels allegorically gendered. Especially since they're often applied to him without his desire which is very similar my own experience with gender as well. Like just the ways that monstrousness is treated when is manifests in sam versus dean are SO different and it feels fair to analyze them in a gendered way e.g. demon blood sam being physically restrained and locked up, sam being solely blamed for something that was objectively multiple parties fault; moc dean continuing to roam free during his descent into violence, everyone's expected to believe him when he insists that he's fine. This is obvious not a feminist debate or analysis it's just one interesting lens to view the character imo.

the mischaracterization of byler is so weird bcs for a while it was like “oh mike is big manly alpha and will is tiny yaoi femboy” but then people were like “oh thats wrong” which is good but then they were like “its wrong bcs actually will is big manly alpha and mike is tiny yaoi femboy” and. its so weird to me like neither of them are either of that what are we doing. i thought we were past the whole “man and woman” stereotype gays like. theyre allowed to both be guys who like stereotypical teenage boy things like video games and scifi movies and theyre also both allowed to be unathletic loserdorks like. its ok. they are allowed to not be one dimensional gay characters that fit into the heteronormative mold.
