Just got to the part of ORV with the scenario set up by the nebula “Emperor” and I am losing my mind at Han Sooyoung basically using her version of the story as an allegory for how Kim Dokja’s company feels about him and his constant sacrifice. Meanwhile, Kim Dokja is as oblivious as always to the fact that people actually care about him and is just like “oh, of course she wrote the story this way only because she knows that Sun Wukong would really like a story where he gets to relax and not sacrifice everything!”
Glass Onion is a masterpiece. The movie really manages to get you to believe that Bron is some kind of quirky genius asshole at the beginning (because that's what we're TOLD) when everything we see about him underlines how much of a fucking moron he really is (the Mona Lisa is smaller and painted on wood, not canvas, the Louvres never sent him the original and this asshat couldn't tell).
The movie works on a meta level exactly the same way it works in the narrative: Everything it says is in plain sight from the beginning, you're just expecting it to be more complex because you're told by some dude with money that it is.
In short. Rich people are fucking dumbass, don't ever enter the narrative that they got their wealth because they know something you don't. If it looks like a moron, speaks like a moron and acts like a moron, it's not a clever ploy. It's just a moron.
It goes below the cut, my friends, so don't read it if you don't want to. But if you do read, don't look for a reason to get angry. For the love all things holy and unholy, it's not always about you.
We are not a family, and we are not all friends. And I'm so very ok with that. I don't need another space in my life that is that amount of work. I come here with stories, and you're so very welcome to read them. I really, really wish and hope that if you do read them, you reblog them and say something kind. I promise to always be as inclusive as possible, and to give appropriate warnings for the content of my stories.
And that's it. Because this right here- this is my space in the fandom. Your blog is your space in the fandom.
I don't need to share my space that with anyone. I don't owe anyone in this fandom anything, and they owe me nothing. That's supposed to be the beauty of these relationships. We choose to interact with integrity, or we do not interact.
Please, god, everyone stop looking for reasons to feel like a victim, and get to creating. Or, get to taking long walks. Or, get to reading those books that have been sitting on your shelf ignored. Because there is not some sort of prize to win at the end of this. The beauty and fun is in the creation and interaction. Period. End of story.
