I've been seeing just about all moments of GO S2 being put under a microscope and absolutely dissected frame by frame

And still I am yet to see anyone mention a moment that might be small in the grand scheme of things, perhaps not as character defining as many other that have been (rightfully) analyzed a thousand times over, but which was *so* important to me, and every single time I watch it I'm just filled with so many feelings and jhaghagha

(putting this under a read more to not spam y'all with a ginormous post clogging your dashes)

The moment in question is this (my apologies for the pics, I currently don't have a proper way to take screenshots of S2 and had to snap photos of my tv screen lol)

It's such a quick moment, a small blip in the entirety of episode 5, but let me tell you why it absolutely destroys my heart every single time.

First of all let's refresh our memory on Aziraphale's relationship with Heaven and Gabriel specifically, shall we?

The very first time we see Gabriel in S1, he surprises Aziraphale at a sushi restaurant. Aziraphale looks to his left, because that's the side where Crowley usually appears when approaching him, but instead of his boyfriend the familiar Demon, he sees the reflection of Gabriel at his other side, and he turns around with what reads to me as very much an "oh shit" expression.

In episode 2 we see Gabriel again, along with Sandalphon; they are flanking Aziraphale and leaving him no way to escape in what to me seems a blatant intimidation tactic, especially with Gabriel being all "hey you remember Sandalphon, right :)" and Aziraphale being like "Oh yeah, likes smiting and turning people into salt, I sure do! *nervous laugh". There's literally no reason for them to be acting like this if not to (un)subtly remind Aziraphale what his place is, and that he is NOT safe, not even in his bookshop.

Whenever we see Aziraphale in Heaven he is constantly standing ramrod straight, hands kept caged behind him, none of his usual mannerism to be seen. He always smiles like a hare being stared at by a hawk and the cinematography very much underlines that tenseness by both showing the impossible, cold and sterile expanse of Heaven in contrast to the camera being shoved right in the characters' face to make the viewer feel just as uncomfortable as Aziraphale is.

When Gabriel and Aziraphale speak in the park there's this moment after it looks like Gabriel is leaving, but he pops right back up in Aziraphale's space in an instant, causing the reaction we see in these screenshots. Aziraphale is clearly taken aback and tense, eyes widening which is like, fair considering Gabriel pretty much jump scared him, but that's rather the point, isn't it? Gabriel pretty much jump scared him. He didn't just turn around and jog back to Aziraphale to ask him about the sword, he purposefully moved himself up to him without any warning. Like sheesh, talk about terrifying bosses.

No Gabriel here, but just another example of how much Aziraphale does NOT like being in Heaven. When he gets discorporated and finally manages to stand up for himself, saying he refuses to fight a war, he still looks like *this*. Like he's one step away from just discorporating a second time and without an actual body out of sheer anxiety.

When all it's said and done at the Tadfield airbase and the four horsemen are gone, Gabriel and Beelzebub decide to go check what the heck is going on, at which point Aziraphale pretty much seems to be bracing himself, straightening his back, adjusting his clothes nervously and then holding his hand in front of him in a show of dignified quietness I definitely read as him doing his best to hide just how anxious he truly is.

Of course we don't see Aziraphale's reaction at being told to shut his stupid mouth and die already by Gabriel due to the body swap, and at this point is pretty safe to say Crowley has never shared with Aziraphale that little tidbit of information, but even not knowing the extent of the cruelty Gabriel showed toward him at the end, he still knows that Gabriel and, by extension, Heaven was more than willing and ready to murder him.

Even at the start of S2, when an amnesiac Gabriel arrives at the bookshop and then hugs him (awkwaaaard), Aziraphale looks like he's entirely frozen and unable to react to the improbability of what is happening, and when Gabriel asks him if he can go inside the bookshop Aziraphale's immediate reaction is to pretty much recoil with an immediate "No!".

Of course he is then forced to let him in because there's a naked man on his steps while the whole neighborhood is watching, and we get some many more little moments of Aziraphale anxiety emerging through his body language: The pacing, the way he sits ramrod straight in front of Gabriel, and him literally backing away multiple steps when Gabriel asks him "You know how it's like, when you don't know anything at all, and yet you're totally certain that everything will be better if you were just near one particular person?"

(Because of course Aziraphale knows how that feels, and that's exactly the same reason why he's been so scared of Heaven for-fucking-ever!) (Also as an aside let me just bless Michael 'Acting Choices' Sheen for that smile that lasts a shard of a second after Gabriel asks that. You can pretty much see the word "CROWLEY" stamped in big bold letters on his forehead in that moment lmao)

(Also as an aside to the aside. Jon Hamm is just fantastic. Gabriel comes across as such an asshole in S1, but Amnesiac!Gabriel is a fucking cinnamon roll and he pulls it off so well ajahjahja)

Then of course we get the whole exchange about the 'something terrible' that sends Aziraphale into more anxious frenzy until another tiny, kinda overlooked moment hits us in the shins, in which Gabriel says "You're funny. I love you." And like, can't blame anybody for not looking at that moment without much thought, I know that that sentence had me crying laughing multiple times on multiple rewatches, but also... God, you can see the way some of that fear instantly leaves Aziraphale, the way he relaxes ever so slightly and ??? Aziraphale??? Is that all you need to instantly start trusting someone who wanted you dead? Who treated you like shit for who knows how long? (Why am I even asking this, of course that'd be enough, it's Aziraphale we're talking about, here.) Then of course the rest of season 2, he and Crowley having a row about what to do with Gabriel with Aziraphale insisting that he needs them, as his friends, yada yada, we get back to the initial moment that sparked this post.

We get there, Aziraphale's (eldritch) Ball and the romantic moment he's been working himself up for ruined, murderous Demons at his steps putting both he and all the humans inside in peril, and all he would need to do to avoid any harm coming to them is to give Gabriel up, and... "You came to me. I said I would protect you. And I will." Not just the words, but the way Aziraphale says them; voice lowered and serious, that hint of hesitation and fear at the start that melts away into full blown confidence at the 'And I will'.

It isn't just Aziraphale being scared by Gabriel mentioning the 'something terrible' at the beginning, nor the brief moments of cryptic recollection that he witnesses Gabriel going through-- It's that Aziraphale sincerely accepted to protect him, and he wasn't going to give that up. He is a Guardian and a Principality, after all.

And like, I see this and how am I supposed not to get my heart utterly shattered by it? If Aziraphale had rejected Gabriel, or treated him unkindly in any way, I hardly doubt anybody would be hard pressed to say Aziraphale did not have the right to do so, not after the way he's been treated by Gabriel and Heaven his whole life. But he doesn't. He is kind to him, if a tad long-suffering at times. The protection he extended over Gabriel is utterly sincere and unwavering.

And ngggggggh I don't even know where I'm going with this. I just. Love Aziraphale so much. Stupid, clever, anxious, brave man-shaped thing that he is, recklessly throwing himself into the line of fire for somebody that, by any means, did not have any right to ask something of that magnitude from him. He is my scrungly, and by God am I ever so excited to see how everything will play out in season 3. I want him to fully grasp that bravery and raise absolute -metaphorical- hell with it. Shine bright, you crazy bastard.

The lights were switched on.

Sounds of poppers went off in droves.

Confetti and streamers flew through the air.

“OTANJOUBI OMEDETOU GOZAIMASU!”

“Why, you shouldn't have!” Sparkles became animated around Gojo's beaming aura as he clasped his hands together in joy one moment before looking and sounding dead serious the next. “But really, you should have.”

“After your insufferable reminders to us the past few weeks, we considered dropping out.” Nanami bluntly put it before sighing in defeat. “L/n-Chan however pleaded for us to aid her in this endeavor.”

“Be grateful L/n is willing to put in all this effort for you, you dolt.” Utahime sternly admitted, although the smooch on her cheek from Shoko had the scarred sorcerer blushing and hiding her cute face in her wife's shoulder to Shoko's amusement.

“Honestly, you knew we were gonna throw one either way. Your disappointed whining wouldn't rest otherwise.” Shoko patted Utahime's noggin, airily adding.

“Congrats, Gojo-san, for one being one year older!” Haibara draped an arm around Nanami's shoulders, leaning against his husband's fit suited form. Raising his alcoholic free drink to that. “And for all your hard work, as always!”

“Yu-kun~!” Gojo shed waterfalls to that; dampening his black blindfold. “Nanamin, why can't you follow your hubby's example~!?”

“Your conduct can answer that.” Nanami's disdain spoke volumes as well.

“So can this grand gift from us.” Nanako and Mimiko rolled up literally with a big wrapped box topped with a bow on a foldable trolley cart.

Eyes widening behind that blindfold, Gojo cheekily giggled as he took that lid off.

With some aided help from inside.

“Tada.” The calm cheer from Suguru as he popped out of that giant wrapped present box with open arms struck love's arrow through Satoru's heart.

“YAY~!” Tackling his hubby to the floor with such intensity made the latter grunt roughly before breaking out in breathy laughs as he was being smothered in amorous smooches followed by Gojo literally chewing on them cheeks.

Expected reaction whenever those two have not been in each other's reach for just mere hours. Imagine days or weeks spent apart.

“I've missed you so much~!” Gojo whined.

Geto chuckled as Gojo suckled and tugged on his reddened cheek. “Satoru, you saw me this morning.”

“Exactly my point! I need my squeeze~” Gojo nuzzled his cheek against Geto's red marked one.

“Gojo-sensei …” Yuji's voice ominously trailed off, getting both senseis attention.

Tokyo and Kyoto students unite, lined up with cream filled pies in all their hands, smug and devious grinning looks on their faces, readying for the strike.

“Tanjōbi omedetō!” Yuji, Yuta, Junpei, Kasumi, Kokichi, Aoi, and Takuma's cheers were more enthusiastic with smiles beaming bright.

“Tanjōbi omedetō.” Megumi, Nobara, Maki, Panda, Mai, Momo, and Kamo were more on the lukewarm side.

“Mentaiko.” That is all Toge owned.

The room exploded with a shared consensus.

That be it, to bury this man, albeit in a celebratory way.

Those pies flew.

A gawking Geto was caged in Gojo's smothering hug, dragging him down with him.

Filled with unbridled enjoyment, Gojo did a double peace sign pose, covered in cream, so memorable, so snapshot worthy as many took them pics. Even with his bashful pie covered husband pressed to his side.

“I hate you,” Suguru grumbled.

“I love ya too.” Satoru cooed, smooching his man fully just to lick all that cream off, taking Suguru's chuckles as a good sign before returning the liplock.

Nanako and Mimiko giggling at their pie coated papas, taking pics whereas the rest of their fellow teens were either flustered by the PDA or were numbed to the daily PDA of these two.

“Hey! Someone better clean up this mess cause it ain't gonna be me!” Riko complained before passing some towels for them to wipe all that cream off when her mom dove in to sweep up said mess. “Not you, Kuroi!”

“But someone has to!”

Gojo waved it off. “Eh, we can clean up after hours. Now then, where did our darling wifey go?” Seeing your figure slipping away in the midst of the creamy chaos made this white cat curious.

“Possibly preparing her gift for you, I believe.” Suguru hinted at, winking as the twins dragged him by the arms to the bathroom to get cleaned up.

The birthday man took that as his chance to find out himself, easily tracing your cursed energy signature, huddled up over the closet in your shared bedroom.

“There you are!” Your heart bursts out of your chest at seeing him pop his head into the room. You were too absorbed in what you held that you forgot to sense for anyone approaching you.

“Did you plan all this for big ol’ me?” Satoru smirked widely as he stripped off his cream splotched jacket, already knowing the answer before it got past your lips.

Your irresistibly shiny lips.

“Hey, Sugu helped. And Ieiri, Yu, Riko, Yuji, Yuta – it was a team effort. There, I said it!” You pouted.

Toru laughed a bit, dropping his creamy jacket to the floor, stretching his arms all feline like, seducing you with his flexing muscles through that black compression shirt, burning up immensely at the sight but turning away to try and focus. “I just didn't have time to wrap it amiss helping set up!”

“Any gift from you is perfect, regardless of the packaging.” He praised, slipping off those creamy pants, revealing his soft blue boxers.

“Well it's my first time celebrating your birthday with you and Sugu wanted me to feel included in helping set up and I was gonna use the kitty wrapping too – MMPH~!”

Being turned around so swiftly made you grow dizzy but his sturdy grasp kept you standing, pinning you as you were flooded with so much warmth.

The taste of creamy goodness came from that piping hot mouth of his as he took his chance to dive that tongue right in.

The familiar dance playing out as he made sure every inch of that succulent mouth of yours was touched by his very essence. Your hands loosened their grip on that small velvet box as your muffled moans made him want to wrap his own hands around you, caressing the back of your head to pull you in deeper with one as well as resting the other on your lower back.

“Such a decadent angel for a handsome devil like myself.” He sighed in bliss, falling back to land on your giant shared bed, pulling you down with him. “Now gimme gimme~!”

You rolled your eyes endearingly at his childlike spirit. “Okay, I give. Here.” You two sat up as you watched in bated breath.

He opened the box to find a silver locket with three tiny gems embedded in the lid.

An amethyst. A turquoise And a (birthstone).

One for each of you three's birth months.

“I considered putting in a blue zircon for your stone, but you're not a fan of traditions so I went with the modern option.”

He held it by the silver chain, chuckling as he marveled in its worth. “It's perfect.”

You scooted closer, hugging his arm, as anticipation made you bounce to his amusement. “Open it up.”

Once that lid flipped open, he gaped a bit.

There was a fitted picture inside. A very familiar one. He should know. He took the pic himself.

It was on your first date with the sorcerer couple.

Seated outside in the early evening.

Vines trailing down the brick back wall.

Fairy lights hanging above.

You had a rose placed behind your left ear; symbolizing your new dating status, by a tenderly smirking Suguru himself who wrapped an arm around you as Satoru took up your other side with a beaming grin as he took the picture himself.

With you blushing, shyly smiling, through it all.

“Man, how a year just passes by.” Satoru got all nostalgic.

“Trying to get that photo at just the right size was a challenge but I'm just glad it fits. Do … Do you like it?”

Your soul trembled as he pulled down his blindfold; his spiky hair now settling down, to see it with his own glowing eyes in the flesh, heartfelt emotion racing through his irises.

He looked up to pierce you with his intense gaze. “Have I told you how much I love you?”

You rubbed your nose with his, giggling as he mirthfully returned the gesture. “Every day since that first date.”

He clasped the locket around his thick neck, now hanging plush between his voluptuous pecs. “Well, I love everything you give me.” He cupped your cheeks to kiss you tenderly. “Thank you Y/n … for this … the bash … for coming into my life.”

A loud rough coughing sound brought you two out of the entrancing moment to look over and see Suguru in his white undershirt and gray sweatpants.

“Our lives, actually.” Suguru crawled over the bed to smooch you just as affectionately. “Satoru, pants."

“I could just go out in my birthday suit~” Satoru coyly suggested.

You nearly got a nose bleed at that.

Suguru snorted before nibbling on those smug lips. “Tonight, you madman. But for now, pants.”

“Hai hai.”

Kasumi smooching off the frosting she poked on a flustered Kokichi’s nose.

Kamo fails in talking down Todo by putting Yuji through another rival challenge to test their brotherly bestie bond.

Nobara cuddling against Maki as she live streamed those two on her phone.

Yuuta laughing at something Panda said with Toge holding his hand and giving it a squeeze, intertwined.

Yuji and Aoi having a chugging contest just to have a wandering cursed doll whack into him, choking out his Cola.

Megumi rubs Yuji's back after handing him a water bottle, with Yaga running over to grab his wayward creation, apologizing to Yuji whereas Todo encourages – more like yelling – for his brother to keep striving forward.

The night ended with everyone wearing party hats and blowing in birthday whistles as Satoru, wearing matching sweatpants, smiled as you dimmed down the lights along with Riko and Kuroi rolling out the cake; the candles being the only source of light.

Singing happy birthday.

Capturing this moment with his eyes, his mind, and his soul.

Claps and cheers fill the air after he blows out the candles.

“Ya wanna know what I wished for?” He asked as he settled beside you on the couch, plated cake in hand, savoring every bite.

“Unless you don't want it to come true, probably not.” You reminded him.

“Superstitions or not, I'll only say this …”

Suguru settled on his other side, relaxing against him, humming as Satoru gave a forehead smooch.

“Whatever comes next …”

Eyeing the bustling lively room of students, colleagues, friends and family with awe.

“We face it head on. As one.”

Your face rested against his shoulder, laxing in tranquility.

“Happy birthday, Toru.”

He kissed your forehead next, dropped his plate in his lap so he could wrap his arms around you both, letting you two use him as your pillow.

The fulfilling nourishment topped with the wholesome vibes of today got you three in the mood to just nod off for a bit.

“Thank you … for the best … b-day … ever.”

The befuddled, amused expressions thrown your way went unnoticed by you, of course.

As you three snoozing lovebirds curled up and cuddled up together on that couch.

With that gifted locket in full view.

Hi Anon! ☺️

Fake, fan fiction, CPN.

Anon is talking about the bus and taxi that BXG had wrapped in GGDD graphics for the Tencent event last night.

This is something BXG do whenever there's a big event like this, especially ones there's a chance they'll both attend (these types of things are planned well in advance, long before BXG would know for sure whether GG would be attending).

One bus and a taxi is actually pretty low-key compared to some of the things BXG have done in the past. It's not unusual for them to do multiple buses, digital billboards, etc. and they even lit up the entire exterior of the arena with BXG graphics/slogans for Weibo Night a couple years ago.

Solos love to make it seem like turtles behavior is risky or dangerous, but I find that notion totally ridiculous. These are fan materials and all in good fun. Bystanders will immediately recognize it as such, and are unlikely to take it too seriously or get offended.

At the end of the day, GG and DD are the only ones with any power to put a stop to these things and they haven't, so I think that says everything we need to know. I've talked about that a bit in the past.

So, Anon, not to worry.

As for GG and DD's reaction to things like this, there has been some discussion of that in LRLG rumors in the past. I'm especially thinking of the light banners at Tencent 2020. You can read more about that event here.

Fake rumors are fake rumors, but I think it's a pretty safe bet that they and their teams find these things amusing and heart-warming. There are plenty of examples but here are just a few:

Back during DDU they filmed a segment where DD was driving with the other DDU brothers in the car. DD was driving by a group of BXG and honked at them (some were clowning that the pattern of his honking sounded like BJYXSZD because he was doing 7 fast honks, taking a pause and then 7 again).

One year for DD's birthday BXG hired a digital billboard truck to drive around the Hunan TV building all day (where DD was filming DDU). The truck was decked out in BXG graphics and with a loudspeaker blaring GG's voice from the BTS yelling "HAPPY BIRTHDAY WANG YIBO", and there were fan repos of DD, the other hosts and Hunan TV employees laughing and taking pictures.

GG was seen smiling at BXG balloons during his visit to Milan.

When DD was in LA his car was driving by a group of BXG who were standing on the streetcorner holding balloons and chanting BJYXSZD, and DD's assistant was filmed laughing and taking photos/video from inside the car.

There are countless examples of GG and DD appearing to look at and react to BJYX light banners and headbands.

I'm sure there are many more examples I could add, but you get the general idea. I think it only makes sense that GG and DD would find these things mostly cute, and appreciate the support.

Mileapo, Bas and Tong are still in Hong Kong (they have a week long trip there), doing the Man Suang tour today.

Mile was gonna touch Apo here, you can't change my mind:

It's the way Tong's the lead dancer here, they're all following his lead, but you can see Apo gazing at Mile instead, who then also shifts his look away from Tong to Apo:

And Apo also said that Mile's character in Man Suang, Chat, is just like Mile in real life, shines and brings on trust. I was just thinking about all of the bullying and abuse Apo had suffered in his career, and what it must mean to him, when he says Mile's smile makes everything shine, and makes him feel he can trust the world... ;_;

Some Not-So-Gentle Reminders and Points for the Gravity Falls Fandom (And for Fandoms in General) to Consider, Especially the Dishonest and Clueless “Apologists”

Note: So here’s my official first Gravity Falls post. I’m not exactly a new fan, though I am having a second wind of interest and appreciation for it and everything in it. For this particular post, I guess I just really felt like getting some thoughts off my chest and just kept going after that. Sorry for lack of pics/direct evidence. This was supposed to be quick and most of this stuff should be pretty obvious if you just pay attention and take the bias goggles off. I might come back and add images/media later. I’ll gladly correct any mistakes too, big or small, if need be.

Now consider this:

- Stan, in the scene where he allegedly “broke” Ford’s science fair project, didn’t even touch it! I repeat, Stan DID NOT touch Ford’s science fair project! What he touched, was the table it was set on when he slammed his fist down! Yet he was and still is blamed for it breaking by everyone in the fandom and show, even himself. How has this common claim so rarely been questioned by a fandom that prides itself on being skeptical and solving mysteries? Just use your eyes and rewatch the scene, people!

- The fact that Ford was so quick to accuse Stan—the one person in the whole world out of his entire life that had supported him through thick and thin and always protected him—of breaking his project based on minimal evidence at best, implies that Ford already had a low opinion of Stan by that point and probably much earlier. It implies that even if he did love Stan, he definitely didn’t believe in him. No one had ever believed in or supported Stan until Soos came into his life, followed by Wendy, Dipper and Mabel.

- No matter how you try and slice it, Ford had been outright shown time and time again, through both words and actions, to have not appreciated Stan’s love or devotion to him, or their closeness. At least not outwardly, to us viewers. His true feelings might not always show and we do get some glimpses here and there of his thoughts on Stan, but appearances matter a lot! Someone being open to doing things with another person, seemingly to keep up an air of decency and calm while they’re trapped in the same place together, doesn’t mean that person appreciates the other. It doesn’t even necessarily mean that you want a relationship with that person or to reconcile.

- Ford’s usage of the words “suffocating” and “meant for something greater” when talking to Dipper about familial relationships and specifically the boy’s connection with his sister Mabel, besides many other talked-to-death things, is very telling and shows how much he was terrified of the intimacy he had with Stan. There’s literally no nicer way to put it. He didn’t just want to escape the bullying he received or the crappy town he grew up in. He wanted to escape Stan. At some point in his adolescence, Ford seemed to have grown to view Stan as an obstacle to his success, a weight on his shoulders, a leech or spotlight hog of some sort, or just a painful reminder of awful experiences. This in itself is a very realistic reaction and when you look at the examples, the case for Ford truly being proud of what he had with Stan looks very shaky. Despite what I’ve noted here, I do think Ford did and does greatly love Stan deep down. But he also seemed to be afraid of something, which seems to have led to him wanting to run away from his feelings—and from Stan.

- Again, it’s possible to love someone dearly but still harm them or view them as harmful to you or for both of you to harm each other. If you really want to view Ford’s immediate discarding of what was supposedly both his and Stan’s dream, along with Stan himself, in a somewhat more positive (well, more selfless) light, you could argue that Ford thought he was holding Stan back (instead of solely vice versa). After all, if Stan did depend on Ford as much as we see him do in the series to the point where they were practically a (mis?) matched pair of socks, it could very well be that Ford felt like he was forcing Stan to be the ‘dumb but brawny and funny’ twin to his ‘smart but weak and weird’ self. Maybe he figured Stan shouldn’t have to keep defending him and making a fool of himself to make Ford happy and feel less alone in his ‘freakishness’ into adulthood. Perhaps he thought some separation was what they both needed to finally grow into two fully-fledged, separate beings.

- There’s an argument to be made that Ford is/was extremely narcissistic and insecure. You know what many narcissists (with or without NPD) have in common? They have low self-esteem. Low self-esteem often born from a childhood of emotional abuse and neglect and constantly being told there’s something wrong with you, that you’re not and will never be good enough. Low self-esteem and a need to hide it and look for ways to avoid rejection or coming rejection, even if it’s just perceived. It can be easy to forget that Stan and Ford were both treated terribly inside the home as well as outside it. Ford was on some level the golden child whereas Stan was the scapegoat. There are some narcissistic dynamics going on here. (They’re very prevalent in families, you know?) Childhoods like theirs are known for breeding such people. This means that Ford may have saw himself in a negative light but felt Stan’s love was exacerbating the problem because he was being led to believe that Stan was a problem; The problem child.

- Stan shows signs of extreme codependency to the point of having traits that practically mimic that of BPD/EDD/EUPD (including insecurity and low self-esteem as well). He’s clearly terrified of abandonment yet of closeness too, at the same time. This is likely also caused by his and Ford’s childhood. Many people with BPD come from homes like theirs, too. Now I understand these are cartoon characters, so the urge to diagnose, while understandable, is typically pointless. However, if we’re speaking theoretically on which disorders match up with characters the most based on what we see and find out about them, then yes, Stanley seems to be extremely codependent—especially toward Stanford—and likely suffers from other emotional trauma that was made far worse after he was kicked out.

Do we ever see it so much as implied that this concerns Stanford though? That he sympathizes with whatever current plight his brother is going through even once outside of the finale of all times, particularly before Stanley had seemingly already been erased out of existence? I don’t think we do. Well, maybe once. Stanford gave Dipper a pretty and high tech tie to give to Stanley... I guess he wanted to throw his poor, dumb dog of a brother a bone. (I kid, I kid. But not really.)

You can’t even claim that it was the same the other way around and say that Stan doesn’t pay mind to Ford’s struggles or want to help him out of them ever, because the show often goes out of its way to illustrate to us the opposite and often also makes it clear just how much Stan adores Ford. Spending their childhood protecting and sticking up for him. Dropping/giving up everything for Ford repeatedly. Being concerned over Ford’s sanity/behavior when he visited him that fateful day in 1982. Still holding out hope he’ll change his mind on their old dream despite the hell he’s been put through. Forgiving Ford for everything even after he almost ‘dies’ to clean up the problem that, mind you, FORD CAUSED TO BEGIN WITH. Ford “ruined” his own life! (And is implied or explicitly shown to have had a hand in bringing about the intense hardship of others’ lives. E.g. Stanley, Fiddleford....the evidence is there.)

- In fact, there can be no talks about “who was more responsible for Weirdmageddon” without acknowledging who was the first one to shake the devil’s hand: Ford! I mean, of course it’s mainly Bill’s fault, he’s the villain! The point is that it’s harder for others to do wrong when we refuse to help them. We know romantic relationship cheaters are jerks but what about those who knowingly help the cheaters cheat? They never get a pass, now do they? Then the same can especially be said for Stanford, who did not refuse to help Bill—even despite warnings about summoning him—until it was too late and the cat was miles away from the bag. At that point he had no one to blame but himself for the problem continuing to escalate. I mean, don’t you remember the many questionable ways he tried to contain it?!

- Stanley is not even close to being the dumb twin. Not in anyway. On top of all the skills he’s learned over the decades, he’s actually implied to be close to as smart or even equal to Stanford. His whole life is actually a testament to how amazing he truly is at surviving and, given the right tools, thriving. You know what some of you sound like when you have nothing but crap to say about this main’s relatively positive traits, irrespective of his actual wrong-doings? Stanford Pines, pre-realization of all the ways he has screwed things up for those around him. You know, who the man was only after he erased Stanley’s memory. Though a lot of you seem to self-insert and project onto Stanford to an unpleasant extent anyway, so I guess that’s not surprising. You know who else you end up sounding like? Filbrick Pines. Yeah, that one. I don’t know, seems a bit disturbing to be. You know who else you often end up sounding like? Bill Cipher, if I remember properly. In fact, wasn’t it implied that much of Stanford’s negative views of Stanley and not needing family, was influenced by Bill? Hmm.

- You can not blame Stanley for pushing Stanford into the portal while completely ignoring the context of the scene and all the actions that lead up to that point. Ford sent Stan a vague postcard (implying he may have known how to reach Stan all along). Ford allowed Stan inside and in the basement where things were bound to be the most dangerous. Ford told Stan to take the book and get as far away from him (“sail as far away as you can. To the edge of the Earth”) as possible despite knowing their were a lot of tender feelings there, especially when it came to the two of them sailing together. Ford started the fight when Stan tried to burn the book he was given, that Ford wanted to get rid of anyway! Ford pushed Stan while trying to get said book back onto a bunch of buttons which activated the portal to begin with! The accidental lever turn came after that and the Stan accidentally pushing him into the portal was just the nail in the coffin of their faux family reunion that Ford caused to happen.

No one made Ford choose an unsuspecting Stan as a tool and means to an end for the mess he put himself and possibly the whole world in. That was his choice. Either they’re both to blame or Ford is solely to blame. What you’re not going to do is put the entirety of the blame on Stan. Call me every name in the book for this, but I believe the BIGGEST innocent victim in that scenario was Stan! You don’t need to blame him for every single terrible thing that happened to Ford because Stan already blames himself for everything! Even when it doesn’t look like it could have been him responsible for it! He already is full of shame and remorse that fill every step he takes every single day. He worried every day for thirty years that the blood of one of the only people in his life that he’s loved, may have been on his own hands.

- I think it’s possible that one of the reasons Ford latched on to Bill despite all the red flags, was because Bill reminded him of Stanley. He wanted a friend. He wanted his best friend back. Bill played the role almost perfectly—until he didn’t anymore and Ford realized his mistake. This could mean that there’s a chance he realized the biggest difference between Stan and Bill since he did end up contacting the former after Bill’s betrayal, and in his own words, chose Stan because he trusted him. He still trusted Stan. It could have been less than when they were children though and all that time with someone that reminded him of Stan yet ended up betraying him ‘too’ may have caused him to start associating Stan with Bill. I can imagine that after he was sucked into the portal, Ford’s associating Stan with painful betrayal may have worsened. But bringing him out of the portal could have slightly improved it. And seeing as they finally sailed away by the end, he realized must have he was wrong to ever associate them, if he had before. I bet they’re probably still sailing around the world together over a decade later right now.

- If the thought of both twins not returning home and choosing to live with their grunkles and exploring gravity falls/world and sailing the sea together, bothers you, ask yourself how it would have been soooo much better if only Dipper had stayed while Mabel went back home? You see the issue with that now? I won’t argue whether or not it’s okay for a 12 - 13 year old boy to stay in a far off place with an adult family member. After all their parents didn’t mind sending them alone to Gravity Falls for the summer to live with their great uncle anyway, which was likely dangerous/irresponsible of them for many reasons. I just think it’s suspicious that some people can only see the issue if someone suggests that both twins should have left their parents and life in California behind to resolve the issue of the apprenticeship and keeping close to one’s sibling all at once.

- The Stan Twins told their story in ATOTS but only we, the audience, actually see it play out. The characters don’t. The way brothers explained it may have made it seem to each other like the other still had no sympathy for them and didn’t think that what they did was wrong. Stan even called Ford’s dream college “stupid” while the flashback was being shown and he was explaining his side of the story. The fact that neither apologizes for the painful things they helped contribute to in their young adulthood which affected them, probably didn’t help either.

- In one of the scenes from the ATOTS flashback, Ford yelled at Stan “Help me Stanley!” as he was slowly sucked into the portal. He wanted Stan to save him! These were Ford’s final words to him that Stan internalized and are what Stan immediately set out to do! He likely worked for decades with these last words in mind, not knowing whether Ford would still be alive when he brought him back to their world! Ford even threw the book that they’d fought over to Stan before he disappeared. How do you think that looked from Stan’s POV? Like a visual cry for help on top the audible one I bet! Also, Ford had some awful nightmares thanks to Bill. It was terrible what was done to him and pushed him to the point of insanity. However, he wasn’t the only one with fears, regrets and a troubled past. Imagine what Stan’s nightmares must have been like, especially the ones with Ford in them? The parts of Stan’s dreamscape that we got a view of were depressing. The dreary colors, the symbolism...

- Both sets of twins are extremely sensitive to and immediately take things to heart, especially insults/criticism and all of them can at times act less mature than their actual ages. They all feel inadequate in some way. They just showed these traits to different extents and unhealthily cope in different ways. Be careful with their feelings and what you say to them because all of them wear a front as a cover for protection. They also all occasionally lack common sense, act silly and say and do the oddest things at times. Plus they all need someone who genuinely loves them dearly to hold them down and would die for their family (or die of heartbreak if they didn’t get there in time).

- Stan and Ford after decades apart and so much animosity between them, are sailing on a ship. They could be together in the middle of nowhere very often. Knowing of all those negative feelings that were present, it leads me to think about all the ways their trip could have gone wrong. Many understand that their father was abusive, but what if they were or became abusive to each other? I don’t want to believe this would happen and I doubt we were supposed to consider such a thought. However, the terrible possibilities are still there. At worst, I prefer to think that things are at times bitter but then sweet.

- It’s very fascinating to me how so much “Stanford Defense” seems to be built upon throwing other characters under the bus to make him seem less culpable for his own choices. It boggles my mind how the same people who claim that characters such as Stan and Mabel are never questioned on anything (laughable to say this point, especially coming from them) seem to be the ones doing everything in their power to keep people from so much as voicing displeasure anymore at any part of Ford’s character. I swear I’m ever seeing the same names on different sites arguing with people about how wrongly ridiculed he is. It’s really is starting to look like all the “Stanford gets soooo much unnecessary HAAAAATE and is always bAsHeD” people are trying to take things in the opposite direction. Which is just as upsetting if not more so, because such behavior only leads to the shutting down of discussion and critique. That’s horrible for a fandom to go through, just like the other way around. Can’t Gravity Falls do better than that?

- Your faves won’t ever be every single person’s faves. Sometimes people will even dislike a character that you like. That’s fine! That’s life! Just don’t forget while loving said character, that this does not have to mean you approve of everything they say or do. You don’t need to jump to one’s defense whenever someone makes a point. Especially a valid one that can’t truly be disproven anyway. It makes you look delusional and like you’re in a parasocial relationship with that fictional character. Learn and never forget the difference between arguing an important point with societal implications and solely defending a character for the sake of it, please.

- Mental illness is not a joke or something to wear as a badge of honor. It’s also not something that, if noticed, should be swept under the rug. In the case of fictional characters, I think it’s quite admirable when people can see certain traits of themselves or their loved ones in characters past the stereotypical ones, but that also gives us a chance to talk about those traits and just how hard it can be to live with them and why sympathy and amnesty is so important to healing and moving forward. I believe Stan and Ford especially show signs of extreme mental illness in the show that I have a hunch were placed in them on purpose. This seems to be one of those cases where we’re supposed to see our own family dynamics in them.

- It’s asinine to claim to love a character but ignore or even outright deny their faults and flaws, even when they admit to it! If you love someone, love all of that person, even if you’re often at odds with them. When someone says they love Stanford for literally deny things about him that are proven to be true, I’m left wondering if that person actually loves him—or just the idea of him. Same with any other character this happens with. Enough with the need for our favorite characters to be pure, perfect versions of ourselves. Enough with the need to wipe away issues and to go as far as making up traits for the character, or even stealing their traits from another to make him or her look better and the other character look worse. You’re in effect masking what depth is actually present and risking putting a bad taste in the mouth of those that are neutral on them; souring them to the character and even fandom.

- Even the characters with potential who were unfortunately underutilized—such as Caryn Pines, the mother of the Stan Twins—still tended to fill their main roles in the story pretty well, even despite time restraints. Some of these and other side characters even managed to gain their own small group of fans and fan-creators on their behalf, within the larger fandom. That is pretty wild and deserves some praise. Nice one writers!

- Sometimes it really does help to just remove yourself from the story and just be meta with your takes, i.e. to distance yourself when discussing something because it helps make you less biased and more evidence-based. There are times where we really do see something in a character that indeed was not there or meant to be there. Death of the author can only allow for so much leeway in interpretations. Authorial intent will always matter. This show was very detailed and there are so many things you only noticed after looking again. Some theories exist that imply the whole story for the Pines Family would have mattered no matter what in-universe. We need to be careful when arguing things, we may be/end up wasting our time even more than we think. Oh and ...cartoon logic haha. Also no one loves or will ever love the Pines Family like the Pines Family can. Nor like the creators/writers themselves do. We also can not understand them the way the ones who made them can. When in doubt, it tends to be best to just trust them and their intentions, and your gut as a last resort.

- The Gravity Falls ending was meant to be a happy, fairytale-like ending. That’s how it’s been implied to be the case by the creator (probably not with the company known for fairytales, Disney, even asking him to) and is the reason why every character was so quick to forgive and forget, and why everyone but the ‘super bad guys’ got their ideal ending. Sometimes it’s really not about what would have been the most interesting or profound (or logical) to viewers when making directive choices but about what would make us feel most at peace.

Note: This was all written with mostly one perspective in mind. There are however, many others ones and I do think lots of them are valid takes too, some of them I may even agree with as well and may have hinted at. Also, although it can be hard to tell with so many questionable decisions made, things not done that should have been and even some writing errors here and there, I do think all four of the Pines Family members and those adopted into the family, truly love each other and express it in different ways. That’s what this whole show is really all about and how it ended: With Love for Family prevailing.

To me Taennie was basic pr. It perfectly fits everything about it.

I know for BTS fans this has been something completely new (which is probably why so many still don't believe it was fake), but when you look beyond BTS, pr relationships are actually quite common in the entertainment business (a quick google will get you some prime examples). Huge stars (Taylor Swift, all the Kardashians, many formerly closeted celebrities) engage in pr in mny different ways. Some use their actual partners (and children..), some are formed by placing two people together (co-stars, an a-lister with someone way less known, etc). There can be various reasons for it, but it all boils down to wanting to establish a certain image. Why do huge celebs still engage in this? They have already reached the top, right? Reaching the top is never enough, it's staying at the top that matters more and you do that by keeping people engaged.

So not all things are fake. I find Taylor Swifts new relationship a perfect example of something that is real, but also very good for their image. We know she's able to hide, she just doesn't now (and good for her btw). Sometimes things are done deliberately (the leaking of footage... sextapes, secret dates caught by paps, etc). And, sometimes things are completely fake (a closeted person who needs to look straight, a celeb who need attention to go away from a scandal, two people needing a boost of fame).

This had nothing to do with Jk. Sure it would have sucked for him to see everyone and their mother talk about his partner with someone else. But, it was a business decision and I think Jk knows all about business decisions being sucky (if you think this is the ony thing they ever had to do that they didn't like you would be mistaken). So in my opinion this was not something "Tae did to Jk", it's just another thing in the line of things that suck about being closeted. Tae's actual involvement was small (only one walk imo) so I think that's why he agreed to it. Did he expect things to go wild? I suspect they knew it would be big, but I think maybe they misjudged the vile reactions of both fandoms (Blinks and Army).

Up to Paris Taenie was this are-they-aren't-they situation. Very odd with leaks no-one exactly knows how to place (with edited pics for crying out loud), but Paris is what cemented the realness for so many. Paris conveniently (no, that was not coincidence at all!) took place just before Jennie's new series dropped (which she probably really wanted to do well), which is a perfect example of how pr-relationships work. The 'official' ending just before Tae's enlistement was also perfectlt timed and put in place to protect Jennie. She'll now be able to be seen with a new person without being accused of cheating on one of SK's very loved celebs while he is away for enlistment.

I have no doubts of Taennie having been pr, at all. Jk has little place in the whole thing imo.

I bet you would. You seem out of ideas and in need of free advice. I've talked about this many times before, over several asks. I'm going to give a few examples of the hundreds of ideas i have lol.

Know your audience/fandom and who you should spend your time catering to

It’s larries, females, 20-30 years old, former 1d stans. It's not chavs living in their mothers basement in Doncaster...

How to do it: Ditch the lad image, the athleisure wear, the toxic masculinity, the Liam Gallagher impersonation and the punk/anarchy/indie image and sound. Stop taking fan favourite songs off the setlist ffs. When you don’t know the lyrics of your songs or the order of the setlist, you can’t afford to change it up. Have one set list and learn it!

What to do instead: Cater to the 37 million followers that already know and love you. Find ways to engage them again. 1d nostalgia always works. Post an unseen pic from the 1d days. Start taking proper care of yourself! The grey's got to go. Make pop/rock songs that's radio friendly, choose the right singles (see the response of the fandom!), dress up for shows and occations (so we can drool and look forward to your outfit), be yourself on stage and interact more with the audience (bond with us!). Show us some personality. Dare to be sexy and show us your ankles! Spend more time showing your personality on social media. Start using tiktok. Make yourself look interesting. It doesn’t have to be much.

To attract the gp and keep your fans loyal you need to act professional

Know your lyrics, be on time, use transparent communication and keep your promises.

How to do it: When you say soon it should be soon, when you say the 28 of each month, that's once a month. When you cancel a leg of tour or change a show in the nick of time, say why it's being done and why it's done so late. Act your age. Don't sweep things under the carpet and let things go unaddressed if the fandom is reacting negatively.

What to do instead: The gp or concert reviewers attending shows will demand that you know your lyrics to have a good experience. So rehearse and keep to one setlist if you have truble remembering lyrics. Hell, use prompters if neccessary. Learn to apologise properly and heartfelt. If you can’t, hire people to do it for you. Nip discontent in the bud. Either distract from it, address it or apologise for it.

Trust is important

Read the room, don't lay blame on fans (it's never the fans fault), don't EVER shit on fans and don't make promises you can’t keep.

How to do it: Monitor fandom. Constantly. 24/7. Keep up with the discourse of the day, fandom reactions and discontent. Feel the fandom pulse so you'll know when the timing is right for announcements etc. You'll learn what needs to change and improve things to make the fandom thriving and content. A happy fandom = free engagement and promo.

What to do instead: If you need to remind people you have a kid and larry isn't real, do the heavy lifting yourself. Don't throw fans under the bus. Do a tabloid denial or post a pic of F and yourself. Don't say the queue system changed because you listen to fan demands. That's bullshit. Stop lying and be transparent. Don't say you love all your fans and call out conspiracy theorists in the same breath. Both can't be true at the same time.

Don't do PR relationships for promo. Bad press isn't good press. It's bad press that's harming your image and growth.

How to do it: Stop doing PR relationships with lesser celebs. No one is buying it. Everyone is laughing, and the only one remotely interested in taking you on are 10 years your junior. It won't give you the promo you need either. Stop shitting on larries for press. Larry talk will always get you press because it's tabloid, but don't do it on fans expense. Do a denial or an interview if you must.

What to do instead: Use platonic female friendships as promo. Go parachuting with Florence Pugh and call the paps or film the whole thing and post on social media. Go visit Perrie and walk your dogs together. It will help rid you of the toxic male image, get you press (two celebs for one) and make it seem like you have a life besides partying. Stop being antagonistic to journalists and hostile to fans on twitter. Start building a relationship and a bond of trust.

Bonus: Start doing charity again (openly), let us back in your life (even if it's fake. I want to know which colour you're considering for your kitchen walls), i want social commentary on social media (what does he think about spitgate, the number of bins in England, and if he'd ever queue for a Stanley cup). I also want (and need) him to speak up against genocide. He's got an anarchy tattoo. Have some balls. He'd get good press from it too and kudos from his target group and the gp. I also need him to tease us more. I want something he's got in the works to look forward too, something not stunt related. Is he signing up for Soccer aid again? Is he doing a big interview? Post some lyrics on twitter. Engage us. Make things exciting and encourage a positive environment. It's not that hard to improve things tbh. The bar is that low.

Trigun Maximum 3 Part 1

Tumblr hit me with a You're-too-naughty-label for my Trigun Maximum 2 Part 2-Post, so here have a link to it, because you can't find it otherwise. (There is nothing sexual in there... Tumblr, wtf! I reblog naughtier pics than what I wrote about the manga) *cries*

01: Reservoir Dogs

Oh, this page! The situations with Vash that are the most impactful for Wolfwood, the ones where he felt with him (blue) and the ones where Vash was explicitly inhuman/above human to him (red). All coming down to the panel in the lower left where both of them share a nonverbal quip, in which Vash most likely appeals to Wolfwood to not kill the people who made him suffer so much. And Wolfwood has to make a decision! Again. From how Wolfwood starts the fight, yeah, he tries to keep Ninelives alive by disarming him. He tries so hard to find a compromise between them. All while being in fucking freefall, btw.

Ew, human body parts scorpion puppets! (The grammar program wanted to desperately change this outcry to “human body parts are scorpion puppets…” Thanks for making it worse!)

I think it is interesting that nearly everyone around them has problems dealing with the twin’s humanity. But still the glaring difference between Knives and Vash is obvious to them.

I think it is also interesting that Leonof’s point of view is based on how they deal with suffering. He suffered in the past and broke from it. His real body starts to inflict self harm upon itself at the mere mention of that, while the puppet he controls states the plant’s resilience as a glaring example of their inhumanity. And he reasons that he wants Vash in his collection for that very reason. Maybe to learn from him how to be that resilient.

Such a bitter outlook. While Leonof has his little ideological crisis just by Vash existing, Wolfwood fights for his life, again, and again internally against his deeply rooted cynicism.

I love how so much of Wolfwood’s inner beliefs are directly contrary to his existence. The nihilistic bastard says nothing changes, all good is for naught and ideals don’t matter. Without giving us much context, we can confer much about his life. He had no one to really look up to, even if he was in a safe place it was in constant danger of disappearing or he had experience with that just happening, he has seen good people die and their goodness being for nothing in the long run. But then here he is, still willing to dirty his own hands so he can make sure that orphaned kids have that safe place that he didn’t have. He changes their future. But he is completely unable to see it.

And Vash does. I love how the panels drive that down. Vash is not deterred by Wolfwood’s cynicism. Vash is not deterred by his own experiences. If it is the right thing or not remains to be seen.

WHY ARE THE TOMA CRYING?! QQ BABIES! NOOOO! Meryl, what did you do to them? (And while they are the horses of No-Man’s-Land, we now know they can barf. I’d like to see the No-Man’s-Landers reaction to the German idiom: “Well, horses have been seen throwing up.” Which kinda means: You never know. All is possible. And I just want to know their reaction to it! They don’t know horses and they don’t know the idiom and they would know even less likely that horses are unable to vomit. *cries* I am suddenly emotional about this scene. AHHHHH! I wanna see Meryl and Wolfwood being completely confused, Milly just accepting it and Vash being like: Huh? But Horses can't vomit...)

02: Cement

“This is my business.” What do you mean, Wolfwood? Your decision and you standing by it? Or you being unforgivable?

*sees Ninelives opening their mouth* I am not gonna say the whole thing but it ends with dentata… Thanks, Freud.

I have problems following the whole action, but damn. It is bloody, gory and feels so personal. And it fits Wolfwood’s state of mind, battling with the feeling of dread by Vash, his own mortality and his struggle being trapped in a No-Win-Situation. All odds are against Wolfwood and are towering over him. David against Goliath. Wolfwood is so small.

Nightow is able to give us that sense of Wolfwood being small and a punching bag. But he still is able to add those moments that show how fucking quick Wolfwood’s deduction is and how fast he acts to it.

I love the way Nightow draws Wolfwood here. He seems to be less there than Ninelives with how part of his body is not drawn. And it reminds me so much of the page of Wolfwood’s past where he was shot the first time.

“I don’t want to die!”

And that is what it comes back to again and again with Wolfwood.

Sassy!

Did I mention that I love the way how Nightow draws body language? You really do get the feeling that Wolfwood is barely able to stay on his feet.

Well, Wolfwood said he’d disarm him. And, look, that way he didn’t have to kill Ninelives! Even though Wolfwood desperately fought for his life, he was able to hold up Vash’s ideals here. He tries so hard, man. I feel for him.

“The rest of them will come... That's for sure... Like demons risin' from hell…” While Wolfwood enjoys his (earned) victory (too early), he is already thinking about the consequences of his decision and what further strife it will bring him.

Oh, fuck, I didn’t realise the arm was moving! I needed to take a double take when I saw it holding the up button in the next chapter. Ew! Ew! Ew! Maybe it is me not being able to take in all the detail that Nightow draws. Good that I am reading the manga in discussion mode.

3: No Escape!

Damn, the chapter title. No escape from what? No escape for Nicholas from his fate? Is it an omen that Nicholas’ struggle to escape his bloody lifestyle is doomed and that he has to kill again and again? That though he tried his best to upkeep Vash’s ideals that he has to decide between Ninelives’ and his own life? Is this foreshadowing that he will be unable to escape his place between a rock and a hard place and end up squished?

Nicholas’ third gun, the fucking rocket launcher.

Vash hears Wolfwood’s struggle, but we don’t get any insight into what he thinks. Worry for Wolfwood? Surely. But what more? Does he reflect upon their talk here? Is he considering that Wolfwood is risking his very life for Vash’s home right now? For him? How that explicitly contradicts Wolfwood’s very reason to be at his side? As a traitor to be and follower of Knives.

As another user said, Wolfwood’s fight is a close combat one, all dark and claustrophobic. It is David against Goliath. Vash is in open space. His struggle is not for his life, not really, his struggle is to reach Leonof and get through to him. By switching between their fights, Nightow stresses the difference. That's such a brilliant way to story tell.

Please correct me. I have a really big problem reading Wolfwood here. Why is he grinning? I read it as defiance and a dare against the thought of something being immortal and thus being unable to be reached by a mere mortal like him. It is as much a challenge towards Ninelives as it is towards Vash. But I am not sure and I need other perspectives!

And just a quiet, little panel between Wolfwood spearing and shooting Ninelives, shows him being drenched in blood, looking weary and tired. And the way the blood smears under his eye, looks like he is crying. The panel is so full, you barely see it and you barely see it on the page. You need to pay attention to see it. And damn, if that doesn't summarise Wolfwood's plight and arc perfectly. I think it is my favourite panel out of the volume, there are so many cool ones, but this is so quiet and sad between all those loud and cool fighting ones. Wolfwood is drowning, someone please rescue him!

And while Wolfwood’s fight is bloody, explosive and incredibly loud, Vash’s is quiet and dreary. It plays with our feeling of foreboding and your knowledge that what he fights is the corpses of close ones.

Baby with a gun!

“I see beneath that cold, calculative expression of yours.” Interesting, Leonof. A chapter ago you said that his cold stare hides a void full of suffering. What more do you want to see? Are you mocking him? Or are you trying to relate?

And the chapter ends with Vash declaring Leonof’s real name and that the game ends. No escape for Emilio, either!

04: Emilio the player

Hi, Brad! Those aren’t only puppet parts! :3 Those are body parts of the people you grew up with. Joy!

The puppet master reacts to the name. Leonof registers the name as his own, but his puppet seems to deny it! His puppet is his way to keep a distance from himself and reality.

Vash knows the name of everyone he has met. (I cannot even remember the name you just told me. Vash superpowers! Well, that, but it also makes him so incredibly inhuman for me. He knows everyone, but connects to no one. It reads like such an artificial bond. He loves humanity, but like I love Pokemon. (without the fighting system)) But damn, Leonof’s breakdown is so creepy. 10/10 sleep paralysis demon. Good work, Nightow.

But seriously, I read up guignol and was kinda shocked that it is comparable to the German Kasperle theatre and had a bit of a culture revelation. *hugs their French brethren*

The same page has Vash connecting the dots and forming a plan on how to defeat Emilio without killing him. I love how we get the foreshadowing without realising it.

Gosh, I have a thing for wet hair Vash. He just looks so much better with his hair down!

I know that No-Man’s-Land doesn’t have the best dentistry, but, Emilio, your teeth shouldn’t shatter like this.

The thing that put me off of Charles new relationship was actually Charles himself. I'm not claiming to be a body language expert but Charles is easy to read when you pick up on his patterns.

He's god awful at hiding his emotions both positive and negative. I saw someone compare him winking to a dog wagging it's tail when it's in a good mood and it's a great way to explain it. When Charles is genuinely happy you can very clearly tell both by how he posts and how his face reacts.

For example almost every Charles/Ferrari fan immediately knew the car this season was shit based on his Instagram post about the car and his face during testing, not even the first race and many fans knew what season we were gonna have. Last year he posted about the car multiple times, so many heart emojis and was borderline trying to fuck the car, this year it was an upside down smile and one single post. You can tell if he liked a race or not by his photodumps or lack of posts.

It's the same with people, he can't hide when he's upset with someone or when he doesn't like them and him ignoring Alex constantly (excluding the pap pics during summer) was so telling to me.

I don't think he dislikes her as a person otherwise he wouldn't date her but I do think she did something he didn't like (in my opinion it's the responding to gossip accounts by changing her bio and posting her locations that just so happen to match f1 like Miami before the offical public announcement at the Monaco GP) because his reaction with her is the exact same way he's reacted with other drivers and they all have in common that Charles didn't like something that the other person did and instead of being mad he just ignored them, it happened with Seb, Max, Lando, Mattia and Carlos on multiple occasions. He can hold a grudge so I do think it's very possible that's the reason he's still ignoring her, I mean the guy kept ignoring Max for years even after Max helped him out and tried to talk with him all over one small fall out.

There's multiple interviews of his old karting mentors including Fred and they all said he's lovely but if you do something that pisses him off like changing his setup without asking him he won't talk because he doesn't want to say something he'll regret or doesn't actually mean. I mean Silverstone last year had Charles so pissed off he wouldn't respond to Binotto which forced him to go to Monaco to talk with Charles and that fully damaged their relationship and Charles refuses to even say Binottos name and calls him "previous management"

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

Augh... Okay, so something I like about all iterations of Trapper is that he is not always saying what he's feeling- he's often holding something back, but you can tell, and you want to find out. I think the Doylist explanation for that in the TV show is Wayne Rogers doing a lot of acting without a lot of lines lol, but whatever little story he's making up in his head for "what's my motivation" legitimately comes through at multiple key points IMO!

Like for example of what I mean, I love his first and last scenes in the movie- there's this hidden delight when he recognizes Hawkeye that shows he recognized him but doesn't want to say anything, and then at the end his words are pissed off but you csn tell he's sad- even though he's physically restrained in both scenes there's a lot of emotion. And in the show, I looooove the little facial journeys Wayne takes Trapper on that really heighten his reactions or line delivery. I love the contrast between his rough edges and sarcasm and his gentleness and willingness to do the right thing when he can. He's my baby boyyy.

6. What's something you have in common with this character?

🤔 I honestly feel like we have a similar sense of humor. IDK how to put it into words but I relate strongly to his vibe.

12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?

So many kcjckc. Plus I feel like I've incorporated most of them into a fic at one point or another kxkcn.

STRONGLY believe he's a middle child from a poor Irish Catholic family

I like the idea that he's a bit of a "best little boy in the world" and from an early age was determined to do whatever he had to to get out of the neighborhood. I think he worked hard and excelled at school and sports and got lucky with scholarships, and doesn't actually get along very well with his brothers because they think he thinks he's better than them (and secretly he does just a little bit.)

I think his dad died when he was very young and he doesn't have many fond memories of him because he never talks about him.

I think in civilian life he hasn't actually been cool since he was 21, but he knows how to play act that role and gets a kick out of getting to be cool again in camp

Absolutely baseless headcanon but I think he's a total radiohead and stereophile. Loves jazz and blues, and loves rock n roll when that genre emerges.

First of all, thank you for supporting us on ko-fi, Anon! <3 It means a lot.

To answer your question (and talking about that drawing specifically, because the dynamics between characters and ships could be different for any other sketch or comic), I think it’s closer to the latter: at this stage of their relationship Azul and Idia aren’t really aware that they have feelings for each other, and even if they get inklings of that, they shut them down by rationalizing. “It’s not like we owe each other anything” is a thought that both of them would have, but if Idia’s reaction is passive (he would rather give up and be quietly salty), Azul is very obviously annoyed. They probably wouldn’t know that they’re hurting each other, but out of these two Idia would be the first one to recognize that Azul is feeling jealous. But unfortunately for Azul, he is likely to think “well screw him, why is he allowed to do it and I’m not”… Or maybe he’ll get amused and consider it to be Azul’s cuter side lol, it depends.

What unites both of them is that they really cherish their quality time together when they play board games: it’s their special little thing, even if they don’t want to admit it. So both Azul inviting Jamil to play board games and Idia playing games with Lilia could potentially rub either of them the wrong way, even though it’s very possessive and childish of them.

We do ship them romantically! Rook has too much love inside his heart, it’s difficult not to lol And he has a lot of interesting moments with Epel…

… this one, for example! This is such a Rook thing to do, and knowing Epel, no wonder it was embarrassing for him. But he deserved all the pretty flowers~

What I especially like about these two is that a simple “he gave him flowers” thing could be both cute/wholesome and quite sinister, considering Rook’s knowledge about certain plants and stuff.

*pulls up chair into yr askbox and takes a drag of cigarette* im here to talk wva/remco. okay firstly literally i think abt the back to back pics like twice a week that whole photoshoot was my first wva/remco (wvemco...??) epiphany. but anyway being someone whose grasp on how contracts in this sport (also just the sport in generally) work is tenuous at best allows my brain to come up with random potentially highly implausible concepts such as: "wva ends up on quickstep". why? who knows! (wants a bigger/different role? something something merger fuckery? i dunno).

anyway but even if it makes no sense the narrative compels me. mainly the wout-pov experience of going from having jonas as the teams crown jewel to remco. there are so many core differences bw jonas and remco that setting wout against that change fascinates me. is remco as clear and concise a communicator as jonas is reported to be? maybe not. there might be more tension bw them wrt TTs and one day races (tho remco isnt going to like,, flanders afaik). i also feel like there have been moments where the media has perceived there to be tension bw wout and jonas where maybe, yes they didnt fully support each other as well as they couldve and they were selfish (bc they both have their own individual goals that they want to go for at the tour for example), but the two of them have such a clear understanding of one another and nothing but absolute support for each other that its obvious that theres no actual bad blood at all. i wonder how different things would be bw remco and wout! especially because remco is young and brash and comes across as moodier (?) than jonas and id be curious to see wout handle him.

id also be curious to see wout Handle him if you know what i mean 🤐😵‍💫👀 i feel like remco is kind of a brat and really wants a reaction and wout might not know how to deal with him. largely in my mind im just like "hmmmm they should fuck" like but i DO think its compelling beyond just that skhvkdjhkdjh

☙Why Harley and Ivy were always meant to be together❧

I often see people on the internet who complain about Harley and Ivy being a couple, it's usually people complaining about how they only became a couple because DC wanted to be 'woke' or something and how they preferred them how they were before, so here I wanted to make a little post to show how there was always something going on between Harley and Ivy long before they became canon.

Harley's first appearance was on September 11 1992 in Batman: The Animated Series, she appeared for four episodes as Joker's Sidekick until on January 18 1993 her fitfth appearance ever was in the episode 'Harley and Ivy', here the two meet for the first time, and become partners in crime, being defined 'the new queens of crime'.

Harley's first comic book appearance, eight months later in The Batman Adventures #12 (September 1993) is together with Ivy, and her first canon appearance in Batman: Harley Quinn #1 (October 1999) also includes Ivy.

This shows how Ivy's character was always important in Harley's history, and she was never just Joker's Henchwoman.

But this doesn't mean there was anything romantic between them right? Well let's take a look at a couple things.

Here's some official art by Bruce Timm himself, who (for the people who might not know) is the co-creator of Harley Quinn; He made quite a few drawings of the two together back in the days where they appear very close like this picture here where they're huggin, or there's even this pic here where Ivy approaches Harley for a Kiss with mistletoe while Harley is nervous about it. Apparently there's even more risqué art but I'm not including that for obvious reasons, sadly Bruce Timm sexualises Harley a lot, but despite that this shows that Bruce Timm himself always saw these two as a thing.

Fun Fact:

Talking about Harley's own creators view on Harley and Ivy, her other co-creator Paul Dini wrote the 'Love is Love' comic for DC's tribute to the victims of the Orlando nightclub shooting:

Moving on, Harley and Ivy appeared in other episodes of the Batman Animated Series together and became a real Iconic duo. But What about the Comics? Here's some instances in older Comic-Books where the two are portrayed as being pretty close:

Batgirl Adventures (1998) / Batman: Harley and Ivy (2004)

There's also some instances where one of the two was portrayed as caring deeply about the other:

One being this in Batman Adventures #3 (2003) where Harley is all Lovey-Dovey about Ivy.

Or there's also this panel from Batman: Gotham Knights #14 (2001). where when asked if she gets lonely Ivy says that she's got everything she needs while being surrounded by pics of her and Harley (And funnily enough also a picture of Supergirl).

But the major example is definitely this panel from Batgirl Adventures (1998), which honestly speaks for itself and truly shows how even back in the day these two were often perceived as a couple.

Fun Fact: This panel and the one before were both written by Paul Dini

Worth mentioning: during this period in time there was a phase where Ivy was often somewhat hostile towards Harley, and even hit her at times (As you can see mainly in Batman: Harley and Ivy (2004)) This is often brought up by people who ship Harley with Joker. It is undeniably true that there were instances were Ivy definitely wasn't good for Harley, but not only did that kind of behaviour from Ivy stop since they then changed her attitude back to normal and created the whole 'Harley is the only Human Being she cares about' thing, but it's also important to remember that Joker is abusive to Harley in basically every universe, more importantly the main one, while with Ivy, she was only abusive to Harley in the DCAU comics, while being normal and loving in other universes, and her behaviour was also mostly comedic since we can see Harley doesn't have much of a reaction in those comics.

Last but not least, another instance of Harley and Ivy's relationship having romantic undertones is found in Gotham City Sirens (2009), which is more recent but still takes place a few years before the couple became canon.

Here in Issue #24 Harley accuses Ivy of caring so much about her because she is in love with her, Ivy gets incredibly mad about this, so much that she almost tries to kill Harley, but stops after seeing her Arkham cell covered in Joker graffiti, she remembers that she has a problem and how much she cares about her. Here Ivy is clearly in denial about her feelings, a dynamic that we later see appear again years later in The Harley Quinn Animated Series, though in a much different way.

In conclusion, Harley and Ivy clearly have history, and it's crazy or at least ignorant to claim that their romantic relationship came out of nowhere.

This post also turned out a bit long, I don't know if anyone will read it or care about this but if anyone did I hope you like this little snippet of Harlivy history, and I incourage you to add more if anything comes to mind!

I remind you that these are fictional character and you're free to ship whoever you want, even Jarley! or you're free to not like the ship of Harley and Ivy of course, even though me being me I obviously wouldn't get that.
