Hello, just wanna start this off by saying that I love your art. I've decided to ask my favourite artists for art tips as I wanna get into it, but no matter what I do it never looks right. So, any tips?
WARNING YOU JUST OPENED THE FLOOD GATES GET READY FOR A LONG ASS POST
WOOOOO BOY, first off huge fucking compliment i honestly didn't think i was anyone's favorite artist (despite what my friends say) and i find it super cool of you to try and draw
Anddd nowww the cowards will run out as soon as you read more
okay so first things first, disclaimer! I AM NO PROFESSIONAL BY ANY STANDARDS, IM JUST SUPER INTERESTED IN ART, DO NOT TAKE MY WORDS AS GOSPEL AND YOU DO NOT NEED TO TAKE MY WORDS OF ADVICE (you didnt say i was but just to cover my ass)
I am still learning as an artist so this will just be advice that helped me, lets just hope i can remember what got me here, and this will be just me jotting down my thoughts as they come so maybe im not the best person to come to about this (i may repeat what other people say in terms of art so bare with me)
SO WITHOUT ANYMORE DISCLAIMER! YOU WANT ART TIPS FROM ME? WELL GET READY FOR SOME BULLSHIT FROM A PERSON WHO'S BEEN SO ARTSY FARTSY IN THEIR ENTIRE LIFE AND HAS NO IDEA WHAT THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT, WELL COME INTO THE SHIT TRAIN!!
Now i dont know if you are an intermediate artist, beginner, need help in specific areas or whatever the hell else but! here's the three main points i always wanted to scream at artists who are just starting out!
Your art WILL look like shit in the beginning
References and inspiration are YOUR FRIEND
DONT be afraid to trace
(I know I know this feels like regurgitated and it probably is BUT HEY STICK WITH ME)
does your art looks fucking trash? THATS GOOD!! KEEP DRAWING!! My art looked fucking ugly when i started and some might say (me) it still does, but thats okay!! You learn more and more from just drawing without any tips, art is a pure skill that builds up, do not be discouraged!! The point of art isn't to be the greatest in the world, it's to be at peace with what you create so if your art looks good to you and you are in a happy place in your progress, you are basically successful in my eyes at least (this doesn't mean to quit learning obviously but it'll come in time, be patient, do not push yourself! that's how you stop loving art and we don't want that happening!)
Ever find yourself asking "man why the fuck does (include art shit here) not look accurate??" well here's a tip, USE REFERENCES! DO NOT BE LIKE ME WHERE YOU JUST WING IT OR ELSE YOU'LL BE CRYING OVER YOUR DRAWING TABLET LIKE I DID AT SOME POINT!! Pay attention to the shapes of the reference, break it down and draw over it if you need to, shapes are very important in art and you need to be able to draw whatever you want in the most basic forms (im no good example of this, i really need to practice more aughhh). As well as references, inspiration is KEY!!! Everything is inspired off each other, nothing is original, so steal from your favorite artists!! Look at their speedpaints, look at how they use colors, analyze how they draw anatomy in their style, see how they use shapes, etc etc, learn from who you consider are the "greats of their times"!! USE ALL THE INSPIRATION YOU HAVE AT YOUR FINGERTIPS!!LITERALLY COPY THEM IF YOU WANT EVEN IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY DID THAT, YOU'LL LEARN WITH TIME!! just whatever you do, don't compare yourself so heavily against other artists, i know its hard, i do it myself even! If there is an artist who has a style you so so want, don't crumble if you can't draw in their style perfectly, you'll never win against someone in their art style. I suggest taking inspiration from multiple artists and mashing them together until it looks good in your eyes!!
That actually leads me to my next point! TRACING IS OKAY!! Now obviously I do not mean directly tracing over like some lines, showing it off/posting it and calling it completely original. I mean tracing over the references i mentioned before, or like what i said before, i believe you should actually trace from your favs! (don't call it original like i said before), tracing can help build memory on how to draw certain things like how i took a photo of my hands before, traced them, and then put it to the side to redraw it, making me understand futher how hands work! OR like how i traced a piece of art that i liked to understand how the artist drew their bodies, tracing is used by total professionals in the industry so do not be afraid!! You have total permission from me to trace my art and learn how to draw my wack ass bodies
and for a little extra bit, little bit of a hot take (I'm actually not sure how much of a hot take this is), i don't think you HAVE to learn the fundamentals to get into art. NOW BEFORE YOU RUN OFF SCREAMING AND SHITTING, IM NOT SAYING YOU DON'T NEED THE FUNDAMENTALS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!! I'm just saying that if you want to get into art as a complete hobbyist and just want to draw to yknow draw and be happy, you should just go for it! Again don't make art something you hate! I completely encourage learning the fundamentals but don't ever feel like you're failing just because you don't, get into it when you have the time! be patient with yourself, this goes for any hobby/skill but just sink some time into it, i promise you will get further in you hobby than if you push and rush yourself into complete burn out
OH AND HERES MY ULTIMATE TIP! THERE IS NO WRONG WAY TO DO ART!!
Uhhh i think that's everything? Im not exactly sure how comprehensible this is or how the spelling is since i am not beta reading this! But apologies if this wasn't what you were looking for! (if anybody even read this far) and i hope that if you asked your other favorite artists they answered with anything better than whatever this is! I wish you alot of luck in your art journey and thank you for giving me an excuse to talk about art! OH AND REMEMBER TO TAKE BREAKS

hello, about the new enstars fan post where you say that most of the story is sort of unavailable, where do i start digging? you mentioned the wayback machine and the wiki, is it the fandom wiki? + do you recommend a specific story to start with?
OOO thank you for asking i'm so happy to help with this! i hope you don't mind if i write under the assumption that you're a complete beginner with enstars lore >v<)7
(this is also going to be just for the first game (referred to as "!-era"), since i'm actually less read on !!-era (the second game/the one that got localized) than i am with ! . i think it's necessary though since ! has the most basic necessary lore in it. this means the newer units, alkaloid and crazy:b, won't be mentioned-- SO sorry if you were hoping to hear about them in particular)
putting under a cut to not clog peoples' dashes! i'm so sorry this is about to be long but important es stories are going to be even longer so. prepare
where do i find the stories?
using the wayback machine to browse the ensemble stars fan wiki is a great, easy place to find a good majority of !-era stories! you can still use the direct site to preview stories for summaries and involved characters, but unfortunately since happyelements struck the fan wiki for copyright and got every translation hosted on it taken down, wayback is the only way i know of to access links to stories that were hosted there.
here's the link i usually refer to for quick access to stories on the wiki! this one will bring you right to the main story. to branch off and find others, use the Story tab under the wiki's title!
Tumblr media
if a story you want to read isn't on the wiki, or you'd just rather read from a different source (wayback runs a little slowly + search bar won't work, and fandom wiki is... what it is), a quick google search is still likely to get you where you want to go. many fan TLers still host their story translations in places like tumblr blogs, dreamwidth pages, twitter threads, or other personal websites!
most basic lore please start here - main story and The War™
the Main Story in ! covers trickstar's revolution of yumenosaki against the status quo enforced by the student council, led by eichi (also leader of fine). you're about to get very acquainted with trickstar; other units do play important parts but trickstar are your protagonists for now. what's equally important about mainsto though is the introduction to dreamfes, SS, and how these idols are actually battling it out through singies and dancies. it'll get you familiar with how things work around here in ye old enstartown, how wild and absurd stuff can get, and you'll get brief intros to several characters and units as well! not everyone but... most of them
after mainsto i strongly recommend reading the Reminiscence stories (aka The War™) !! these take place 1-2 years before the main story and contain VERY juicy general lore for the series. if you aren't leaning towards any units after main story, you probably will be after these. the war stories also provide REALLY important context for character development of LOTS OF THESE GUYS. you don't really have to read them in chronological order (i didn't), so if you're curious: Crossroad features Undead and Akatsuki (particularly rei and keito), Marionette features Valkyrie (past), Checkmate features Knights (get ready for leo tsukinaga), and Element features Fine and Switch (this is a big one). Wonder Game, though it isn't exactly a reminiscence story, is also good to add on-- there's some more on ex-fine and switch in here!
"i read the necessities, now what?"
THE FUN PART: LET THE HEART LEAD, BABY!!!
hopefully from reading the main story and the war someone will have caught your eye, whether it's a particular unit or one or two characters on their own! from here the best path to take is just to follow whoever you're interested in and want to know more about! there's lots of stuff going on with like every unit so the world is your oyster... and if you're lucky you'll get worms of the brain like me and my valkie disease <3
the best resource ever for where to go next is this reading list spreadsheet !! i use this ALL THE TIME; it's sorted by unit and further by individual character to point you to stories that will teach you about your chosen guys.
and that's about it!! SO SORRY if you weren't expecting such a wordy response but i am cursed with verbosity and this series has So Much. i am also thrilled to help people enjoy enstars because for as long as i spent making fun of it, i've actually come to really like and enjoy it... it's definitely a lot of reading but i've had so much fun i haven't minded at all. i hope you can have some of that fun too..!!! love and peace...

hi! i saw your milgram pv translation thread and i wanted to ask a few unrelated questions about japanese if that’s okay!! i was just curious how long you’ve known japanese for. did you learn it? if so how long did it take to reach fluency? or was it your native language? i was curious because i want to start learning japanese and use it to fulfill my foreign language requirements when i go to uni. do you have any tips for a beginner who wants to learn japanese?
Ohh this is gonna be a long one, I hope you don't mind 😂
I started to dabble in it back in 2014/15, but I only got more serious about learning it around 2019 I think? I taught myself the basic grammar and the hiragana/katakana from a textbook at first and then used Duolingo later on. The majority of my vocabulary is actually stuff I've picked up while consuming JP media, though - a lot of it from different kinds of anime/manga, drama CDs, interviews, some variety shows etc. That's mainly a personal studying preference though - I have the easiest time learning languages while I'm actively doing things with them, whereas a lot of people seem to prefer going by textbooks from what I've heard. Different methods work for different people!
(The textbook I used is a German publication so I doubt it'll be much use to you, but it's this one if you're interested 🙇‍♂️)
I do have to admit that I'm not actually really fluent in the language - I understand a decent amount (especially when listening, since that's where I've got the most practice) and I can make basic conversation, but I'm far from native speaker level 😂
I've never studied Japanese as anything more than a hobby so I can't really speak on using it to fulfill requirements for uni, but I do believe that it's a relatively easy language to learn (in comparison to other languages I've studied)? In terms of grammar at least. We don't talk about kanji lmao
As for tips,, the most important things are to keep at it and have fun! Finding a studying method that works for you + maybe even finding a way to connect studying the language to your other interests can really help keep your motivation up in my experience. (Also don't feel discouraged when progress is slow, it is a completely different language from English after all!)
I'm wishing you all the best on your Japanese learning journey, anon! Good luck!
Tumblr media
(I'm putting a list of some of my favorite Fun Ways™ of learning new vocabulary and stuff under the cut in case you want some input / ideas btw 👉👈 I'm not sure how useful these are when you're a complete beginner but maybe it'll be useful)
slice of life / highschool anime are a really nice way of picking up new words in passing since they tend to not dive into complicated / very specific vocabulary (e.g. there's no talks about law / medicine / etc etc) and the characters usually don't speak in specific dialects - I'm especially thinking of Miira no Kaikata and Gakuen Babysitters here, but I'm sure there's more
(the same goes for anime specifically geared towards children, but I don't have any recommendations there 🙇‍♂️)
once you know hiragana, renshuu's J-crosswords app is a fun way of practicing them and expanding your vocabulary!
when it comes to kanji, I've found it helpful to just jump right into it and try to read manga in Japanese. a lot of manga include furigana (i.e. the pronunciation of the kanji written next to them in hiragana), so if you know hiragana, you'll eventually start picking up recurring kanji as well 👌 you'll definitely be best off with digital publications for this though, especially if you don't have excellent eyesight. the furigana in manga volumes are small fdjhsgdjfd
listening to native speakers (especially in actual conversation & not acted like in anime) is always very helpful as well! I'm personally pretty interested in the seiyuu industry so I tend to go for anime-related radios or shows like Seiyuu Yoasobi for this, but it works just as well with Japanese (or bilingual!) Youtubers etc - this is also a matter of finding things that with your interests honestly
and, last but not least, following some native speakers on social media! you probably won't understand much initially without the good ol' translate button but I personally still always feel a little sense of achievement whenever I can actually read a tweet on my own 😂

how did you get involved with your wheelchair rugby group? there are a few in my area but i am not quite sure if i'm supposed to just like, email them? ask if they're doing anything soon and if so can i show up? i'm a most-of-the-time wheelchair user for over a year now and i'd like to get connected to things like that but i guess i don't know what to expect (and i've not been diagnosed with whatever my issue is yet so i'm using a hospital-style chair still, not exactly sporty but i've modified it as much as possible to make it work better). i am really missing being active & would love to be in touch with my local disabled community
ooh that's so exciting you're close to a few! I'm incredibly lucky my club is literally 10 mins down the road but some of my teammates travel hours.
I joined my club back in about September, I just messaged their facebook page asking how to get involved and they told me to just come along to their Saturday training to try it out. Now I'm more experienced I go to their Tuesday night training as well. I think most clubs have a casual and a more intense training. I'm sure email would work just as well, just let them know that you're looking to join a club and interested in a taster session!
At my club you get a couple of sessions free before you need to get a memberships and insurance so I was able to try it out but I knew from the start it was going to work well :) We get new people coming along every few weeks I'd say, usually they're just paired up with me because I'm still mostly doing fairly basic beginner stuff. At my club everyone's very friendly and respectful and welcoming to beginners, I hope the clubs by you will be the same :)
Don't worry about your chair, you won't be using a day chair, the club should have specialist rugby chairs you can use. They're reinforced and designed for the contact, it wouldn't be safe to use a day chair. And honestly, if you've been using a hospital chair please go and try it out so you can see how fun these chairs are, they're huge and go so fast compared to a hospital chair it's amazing! Whenever I get to training at the end of the week and get in my chair I just start doing laps around the hall because I'm excited to be back in it, it feels like putting on running legs after being stuck going slow all week :)
The main thing I can think of to expect is that it's really damn hard work at first. I'd had my chair for about 3 months when I started and I thought that had improved my strength but that was nothing compared to playing. It's a lot of muscles you don't use in your daily life, even using a day chair, and the chairs are heavy and it's a high intensity game. Especially if you haven't been as active as you used to be, it might feel a bit discouraging at first to get tired out and sore so quickly. I still get upset with myself when I struggle at sessions. But it really builds up your strength and fitness fast, and it's so much fun I really think it's worth the hard work! I just really wasn't prepared for how tough I found it at first, especially when the professionals look so effortless with it.
It's also a mentally intensive game, you have to think tactically all the time and pay attention for the whole duration because things change so fast. I found that type of concentration really tough at first. It's honeslty only the past few months I've started feeling like I know what I'm doing during games. Again, I don't mean to be discouraging or anything I more mean like it might seem like a lot at first but you definitely get through that initial confusion and have even more fun than the start!
in conclusion yeah it's a super fun sport, it'll really help your fitness & day to day life using a wheelchair too tbh, and honestly finding a good community of disabled people is just as important as the sport imo :) I really hope you give it a go and I'd love to hear how you find it! Please dm or send more asks if there's anything more specific I can help you with!

pottery week 6/6
the last week! today was pretty fun. it was all choosing colors and glazing. it's almost like glazing donuts, except the things we are in contact with are actually hazardous to our health. our instructor (an old man) always wears a mask, but he said we don't have to as we don't spend nearly as much time in the studio. anyway, i have 5 items that are going into the kiln and i can't wait to see what they look like. my two tiny cups may be used as mini sauce bowls, and the 3 small plate/bowl things can hold small dishes.
the glaze covers some imperfections of the clay.
i envisioned that people in class would try to befriend each other, but that didn't really happen with our group. i thought our last day of class would be a little more dramatic, but it was the same thing. people left the studio at different times. i didn't even say bye to anyone although it likely will be my last time seeing everyone (unless i return to the studio).
i'll miss the weekly wheel throwing sessions. i'm considering going to a beginner/intermediate class at a different studio close-ish to my apartment that starts in may. it'll be another 8 week commitment so i have to figure out how to fit in visiting home (or not). however, i'm starting my acrylics painting class tomorrow. i'm excited but also nervous because i've never been to that exact area, or taken the subway in that direction. i'm hoping it's in a nice/safe area because my class doesn't end until 8:45pm and i don't want to feel unsafe on my way home.
yoga: i officially completed my 20th class of the month today! i'm still undecided if i want to attend one last class on tuesday, my last day of membership. i'll also be flying out to LA that day. towards the second half of the month, i stopped being as interested in hot yoga and enjoyed the 75 min flow+restore classes more, which were slightly heated but not hot-hot. the hot yoga classes were much more intense and required preparation and maintenance - can't be too full, need to hydrate a lot, need to shower immediately, etc. if i wasn't hydrated enough, it was easy to feel lightheaded while doing certain poses.

Grimm’s Law and Verner’s Law: part 1 - Indo-European background
OR: how ‘cannabis’ and ‘hemp’ are actually cognates
tldr: sound change is cool and this great series of videos can explain it better than I can: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aal9VSPkf5s. this is going to be the first of a few posts on sound change in German and English. I originally wanted to explain the second sound shift, but quickly realised that it doesn’t make sense without any of the historical context, so please bear with me
What makes a language Germanic? Imagine for a moment that you’re an alien a la Matt Haig, newly arrived to Earth and presented with a sample of the world’s languages - or specifically, part of Eurasia’s. Some languages look very similar to each other; some very different. How would you go about building a hypothesis about which languages were related to each other, and which weren’t? How would you then test this hypothesis? And how, presented finally with data that shows your languages are related, would you explain how these changes came to happen in the first place?
Before we go on to Germanic, though, let’s talk about Indo-European today. You guys probably all know that IE is a large language family that stretches from Icelandic to Hindi; Germanic is one of the sub-groupings of this wider IE family. Within the sub-family itself, there are divisions: German is more closely related to Dutch, Norwegian to Swedish, Icelandic to Faroese and so on. This seems all fairly obvious to us now.
Way back when many centuries ago (not that many centuries, and certainly long after the Bible began), the idea of a language family spanning English to Russian to Farsi was a little less obvious. For much of the 17th century, people (esp a bishop dude called John Wilkins) sought to prove that English was related to Hebrew - this was an important endeavour at the time, because it would lend the language religious authority, especially in its translation of the Bible. Fast forwarding to the 18th century, a man named Sir Williams Jones who lived in Bengal realised - on account of his classical education and extensive contact with Indian languages - that there were much greater similarities between Latin, Greek and Sanskrit than anybody had previously realised. He wasn’t the first to think it, but he was one of the first to make such a definitive statement. The following quote is probably one of the most famous in historical linguistics, so I apologise for quoting it in full: ‘The Sanscrit language, whatever be its antiquity, is of a wonderful structure; more perfect than the Greek, more copious than the Latin, and more exquisitely refined than either, yet bearing to both of them a stronger affinity, both in the roots of verbs and the forms of grammar, than could possibly have been produced by accident; so strong indeed, that no philologer could examine them all three, without believing them to have spring from some common source, which, perhaps, no longer exists: there is a similar reason, though not quite so forcible, for supposing that both the Gothick and the Celtick, though blended with a very different idiom, had the same origin with the Sanscrit, and the old Persian might be added to this family.’
He was wrong in a lot of ways - he excluded some languages that do belong in this family and erroneously included others. He also wasn’t the first to come up with this idea. This quote, more than anything, marks the beginning of people’s interest in the ‘common source’: how could such a thing ever be proven, if we didn’t have access to the language itself?  Part of the building ground for Indo-European historical linguistics was the desire to prove that linguistics was an empirical science much like any other, with laws that held universally and hypotheses that could be tested and demonstrably falsified. This rested on two principles both promoted by the Junggramatiker, or Neogrammarians, a Leipzig based group of scholars. Firstly, that sound change - the process by which sounds change, arise and disappear - was a highly regular process that held universally and obeyed certain rules. Secondly, that languages that exist today are structurally and in principle no different from languages that existed thousands of years ago - that is, we have no reason to assume that processes existed in the past that don’t exist today. This is called the uniformitarian principle.
If both of these things are true, that means that it would be possible to not only determine how exactly these languages were related, but also reconstruct an earlier version of the language once spoken by all Indo-Europeans!! (I hope you agree that this is immensely cool.)
Reconstructing these rules is important, because it allows us to better understand structural similarities between languages. There are some similarities which are surface deep: it’s easy to compare English cold and German kalt or warm and - well - warm, and say that they look alike. Pfad and path is a little harder, but when you compared Pfeffer and pepper it’s clear, ok, there’s a <pf> / <p> alteration going on there. Leaving the Germanic family behind, though, things get a little more tricky.
How exactly is venue cognate with come? What about English quick and Latin vīvus? And how can sister and Hindi bahan possibly be cognates??
Some of the most meaningful observations are structural; they are not surface deep, and they’re not immediately available for study. This is because, quite simply, the time depth since Indo-European was spoken is vast; there have been extensive sound changes in all of the languages concerned.
And that’s exactly what Grimm’s Law is. It’s a sound change that happened specifically in the Germanic branch of Indo-European, so it’s common to all Germanic languages, and nothing else. It’s one of those diagnostic criteria that an alien would use to determine that Norwegian and Dutch were related: it’s present, apart from where further sound change has obscured it, in every Germanic language - and it’s not present, apart from in borrowed words, in any non-Germanic language. That’s what we mean by diagnostic.
Let’s have a look at some examples! We’ll explain it in more detail next time, but this might whet your appetite. Don’t worry if you can’t read the phonetic description; it’s the consonants that are important at the moment (don’t, please, ask me about vowels. just please don’t).
(nb: where I use an asterisk *, this means that this form is reconstructed, not actually attested: we don't have any records of IE. > just means ‘goes to’ or ‘becomes’ in the various daughter languages. Also <these> brackets are talking about spelling, and /these/ brackets are talking about phonemes, or actual sounds. Also, the little ‘ means aspiration - we’ll talk more about what that means next time)
*p > f (no later shift in German, though /f/ is sometimes spelled v):
Engl. brother, Germ. Bruder (cf. Lat. frāter, Skt. bhrā́tā)
Engl. full, Germ. voll (cf. Lat. plēnus, Skt. pūrṇás)
*t > *þ (Engl. th) > Germ. d
Engl. three, Germ. drei (cf. Lat. trēs, Gk. /trê:s/, Skt. tráyas) Engl. thin, Germ. dünn (cf. Lat. tenuis, Skt. tanús)
*ḱ, *k > h (no later shift in German):
Engl. hundred, Germ. hundert (cf. Lat. centum, Gk. /he-katón/, Skt.
śatám)
Engl. horn, Germ. Horn (cf. Lat. cornū)
*kw > *hw (Engl. wh) > Germ. w:
Engl. what, Germ. was (cf. Lat. adjective & relative quod, Skt. kád)
*d > *t (Engl. t) > Germ. z:
Engl. two, Germ. zwei (cf. Lat. duo, Gk. /dúo/, Skt. dvā́)
BRUH. ISN’T THIS COOL!! AND THERE ARE MORE!
You can see here already by looking at the German and English that both have sometimes subsequently undergone sound changes, like English */hw/ to /wh/ and then finally to /w/, which becomes German <w> or /v/ - these sometimes obscure things. And if you really want to find out why German is different to English, well, we’ve got quite a few sound changes to get through before we get there!
Melissa, you might be saying, I know for a fact there’s something yucky and not-worky about Grimm’s Law. What about cases where it doesn’t seem to apply? What’s that? Also, I swear some Danish dude had the idea first but just didn’t publish...
Well. You’re not wrong. But this post is long enough already. Next time, we’ll go over what exactly it is, where exactly it manifests itself, and how it didn’t seem to work 100% of the time...and I suppose I still haven’t answered how ‘hemp’ and ‘cannabis’ are cognates...you’ll just have to stay tuned!
Bis zum nächsten Mal!

Hello, I hope you have a nice day! Can I ask of Michael, Freddy, Bubba, Amanda and Pinhead (from movies) reacting on the reader who plays DBD and when playing as the killer plays as their counterpart from game, and as a survivor be are chased by one of them?
hi! interesting idea!!
Tumblr media
Slashers' Reaction to: You Playing DBD w/ Their Characters
Character(s): Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, Bubba Sawyer, Amanda Young, Pinhead
Tumblr media
Michael Myers:
Michael catches sight of the blonde woman, which you seem to be controlling, as she staggers forward.
He watches, at least you think he does, but who can be sure other than himself? He does have a staring problem, after all.
In truth, he is paying some attention. The resemblance is undeniable, that is her and this is the street she was at that Halloween night.
One question remains to be answered — but also never asked, as always — though, what has you so worried you feel the need to slam your fingers and panic like this?
Then Michael finds out.
Same mask, same outfit, and no doubt the same knife his then-tiny hands first used in the year 1963.
'You', are running from him, hoping he won't get close enough to stab you.
And, well, suffice to say, Michael's rooting for the opposite outcome.
Unfortunately he's let down when you make a successful getaway.
Why must you torture him like this?
It's like blue balls to him, except ten times stronger and not sexual, plus the only blue thing is his jumpsuit anyway.
Bored of playing the prey, you switch to killer then. The Stalker pops up as default from the last time you played him and Michael beckons.
"You.. wanna play?"
Nod.
Was it strange of the Boogeyman to have better mannerisms when he wanted to kill people online for a change, technically speaking?
Yes or no, who cared, you didn't know. You did know for a fact that everyone in the world would've died to see him try, so, meh, you figure.
Why not humor him. At least he asked nicely, right?
And try, Michael did. But there was clearly not much need for him to put a lot of effort in.
Why is he so good at this?
Why would his real life experience really help his gameplay at all?
I literally taught him the controls five minutes ago!
Unnerving thoughts ran through your head as he put every last one of them on death hook one by one.
"Good thing the Entity is not real, but I'm sure you'd be really in demand if it was."
Finished and satisfied at last, he nodded. A good job well done, indeed.
Apparently Michael is really dedicated about killing — not surprising — and takes his passion and to every platform.
Tumblr media
Freddy Krueger:
Laughs as your teammate snaps their finger to wake you up.
"What a damn buzzkill!"
Though the buzz is not yet dead, because they get downed while you're back to safety thanks to their sacrifice.
Boy can he watch you do this for hours.
The more your friends panic, the more of a joy it is for him.
Freddy can see why you find this fun, even though you have your own reasons for that.
Straight up amazed without any hiding when you tell him he can play as himself if he wants.
He does, although not the best.
"2/4 is good, that's half!"
"Beginners luck."
That pisses him off, but Freddy is determined to prove you wrong, just lend him your account for a weekend.
"Sure, but then it'll be just luck."
At this point, he's ready to get the game just to best you.
How does one say 1v1 me bro in scary burnt old man?

Bubba Sawyer:
Bubba's ears pick up the distant noise of a chainsaw. That's his jam, don't you know?
He makes a curious little noise, wanting to know what's going on.
A teammate drops to their demise with a scream, but you're determined to prevent it.
"Sorry, Bubbs, can't explain now, but you'll see soon."
If you say so. Bubba sits down with a plop and attentively watches what you're doing.
He sees the hook, an all too familiar object.
Then the bloodstained yellow apron.
Realization falls upon Bubba, but he still feels the need to ask. He does so by being loud and pointing to the in-game him first, then his body.
Unfortunately, you're too engrossed in body blocking to answer him.
Fortunately, he's not a hundred percent aware of what you're preventing 'him' from doing, otherwise Bubba wouldn't exactly be ecstatic of it.
Thanks to your help, your friend manages to struggle down game Bubba's shoulder. Yet you don't seem to be as fortunate as them because his saw is on to you in seconds, and down you go.
"Well, you got me."
That confirms his previous suspicions.
You go right on the same hook you helped your friend avoid.
Able to differentiate between real life and video games, animalistic buy happy noises come out of his mouth.
Afterwards, you go in shop and show him the Canniball.
Bubba's curiosity is handsy at times, like now.
He traces the outline of his model, saying something, possibly critiquing his design and you wish you could understand.
"Whaddya say? Should we get it?"
Frantically excited, Bubba nods aggressively. "Alright, let's."
He is having the time of his life watching you go after survivors, expressing his emotions and reacting more than you at times.
Part of him is wondering if he can play too, but he's quite shy to tell you himself.
If you offer to teach him to play, he might feel more confident.
Bubba might get frustrated if he's unable to capture everyone at first, so please encourage him plenty of times and put your faith in him.
With reassurance, patience and practice, he'll do better and make you and himself proud.

Amanda Young:
If it wasn't for the character you're playing as, Amanda wouldn't have spared a second glance to your method of time wasting or whatever it was again.
Whoever's hands those are, there is a hidden blade under their right sleeve, just like hers.
"What's this one about?"
Roaring, you ambush an injured survivor, dashing to their frame in milliseconds and making them fall.
Amanda's eye twitches as the person on the ground lets out a shriek, and you address her question. "You."
"What?"
"A version of you that no longer believes in second chances, anyway."
Confused more than ever and unsure if you're messing with her, she sits down. "The fuck does that mean?"
"It's a game."
She tilts her head, looking at your face even if you're unable to return the favor. And?
"Not exactly like Jigsaw's, that's all."
Amanda's quieter with that, staring at a beeping reverse bear trap on a subject's head.
"Watch."
You don't have to tell her to pay attention, she knows up close and personal what's coming soon from the erratic beeping.
Still, her eyes widen a bit as the body drops to the ground.
"Guess she couldn't be saved."
"None of them are, that's the point."
The words send a light chill down her spine, but Amanda seems to recover pretty quickly.
"Play as one of them." And we'll see.
Demanding you play as a survivor against the Pig, surprisingly and patiently, she waits until you get her as the killer at last.
By the time you get lucky, she's pretty much into the gameplay as much as you are. This one is definitely not as boring as the others, at least.
Coincidentally, you get the map The Game, and once again Amanda shudders at how eeriely accurate it mostly is.
You put up a good fight, only getting hooked once and when you're rescued, you successfully remove the death machine on your head as well.
"See? Everyone is savable."
Tumblr media
Pinhead:
Uninterested.
Why did you summon him when you're playing with your much less interesting, thin, technological box out of all times? Boring.
But why does one of the virtual humans seem to possess the box? Wait..
You make them open it.
Now his interest is piqued.
Of course, there are no hints to finding that out, aside from him narrowing his eyes ever so slightly at the bright screen.
You opened the box, I came.
Quietly watches over your shoulder, amused, as your character tries to untangle themselves from his never ending chains.
Definitely thinking you're not going to make it, no one escapes from him.
Well, you do.
Hmph. Unrealistic.
Turns out you don't, not for too long at least, because he gets two hits not even a minute after your unfortunately short-lived freedom.
Full on smirks at the turn of events, not that he expected anything else, but you're too busy trying to struggle out of 'his' grasp.
Try as you might to get away, you still die in the end.
He's weirdly enjoyed this process of fake him hurting fake people, you should definitely summon him each time you play.
There's little chance he'll ever give it a go, but he does seem to enjoy watching survivors in trials with himself, especially the misfortunes. Scratch that, only the misfortunes.
He will be visibly offended if you don't do a good job playing as him, however.
His, Mori, you mouth some basic in-game terminology every now and then that he happened to pick up, always makes up for it, though.
Definitely finds it to be a shame how the concept of Entity is only made up as he would've liked to learn about such a being.

Meena & Ro
Meena: You missed out skipping on the diner after rehearsal today Meena: I saved you a slice of pie though 😋 Ro: Oh? Ro: Well thank you Meena: It was yum Meena: and Ali convinced the lady to give us a discount by promising her a front-row seat Meena: idk how she does it 😂 Ro: Of course she did Ro: She's Ali, that's the most succinct way to express such a feeling Meena: You are so right Meena: anyway, pie aside, I was just wondering if you'd like to piano practice this weekend Meena: my own playing has been lacking since we started rehearsing so I thought this was a decent way to keep my head in the play and get a selfish bit of piano time in myself Ro: I would love to Ro: Undeniably the songs are much simpler to play than they are to sing, but equally undeniably nerves are a factor even with beginner level pieces Ro: I must confess however to being surprised you aren't dedicating your weekend entirely to your love interest Ro: Perhaps you feel he doesn't require any further rehearsal and is, in fact, perfect as he is Meena: I know they're not remotely a challenge for you but never hurts to be over-prepared Meena: and I can promise you I'm not secretly working to get your spot instead Meena: will not slam the lid on your fingers 🤭 Meena: 😳 shh Meena: is it obvious? Ro: That's very much appreciated on all counts, Meena Ro: I know better than to believe that your denials are anything but, in spite of how that promise would sound to a sceptic Ro: Obvious is potentially an overstatement, nevertheless as I also know you, I can see what's unfolding Meena: 🙊 reading that back, yeah Meena: He's just so nice Meena: and funny Meena: and yes, he's doing an excellent job Ro: It's romantic Ro: What a wonderful story to tell of how you both met Meena: its funny how things like this make you notice people you never did before Meena: but I don't think we're at a meeting outside of rehearsals stage yet Meena: not alone Meena: I'd be too embarrassed to ask Ro: I'm sure it would be possible to arrange more group gatherings afterwards Ro: Until you feel more confident in his company anyway Meena: you can always rely on Ali and Carly for that Ro: We certainly do see more of Carly out of rehearsals than we have within the confines of the stage Meena: I'm sure it'll all be alright on the night Ro: Faith goes a long way Meena: and trust and pixie dust Ro: Exactly Meena: Do you think Jamie likes Jenna though Meena: they seem like they know each other well Ro: Of course not! Ro: He's clearly smitten with you Meena: I'm just so aware of the ultimate cliche of mistaking on-stage chemistry for off Meena: then I'd have to buy a wig and some sunglasses Ro: It is a pitfall, but in this instance, it's one that there are enough people around to prevent you from falling into Ro: In order to allow you instead to fall in a much lovelier sense Ro: And avoid stretching our wardrobe budget even further Meena: Thank you Meena: I'm just fussing needlessly Meena: almost as needless as Sophie having hair options, agreed 😏 Ro: It's okay Ro: A lot of nerves are frayed for a multitude of reasons Ro: None more than your brother's, I suppose Ro: Chosen for his looks and persevering with his talents in an attempt to get them on par is an impressive endeavour though Meena: I am still really surprised Meena: its just so not his thing Meena: but I think its good Meena: I just hope it does get better or he won't wanna do it Ro: Caleb and Ali have both dedicated a lot of time and effort into his performance Ro: I don't think it'll be misplaced for us to have faith in him Ro: And in everything going well Meena: 🤞 Ro: Toes as well Meena: 🩰😘 Ro: Did Ali tell you Tommy is coming home early to help? Ro: He wants to be at the final dress rehearsal as well as opening night Meena: She did Meena: sure it'll be beneficial to have a professional give us their opinion Ro: Yes Ro: But you're allowed to consider it the opposite Meena: Why would I? Meena: I know he's good at this sort of stuff Meena: well, was, sure he's only got better now Ro: He's also very... Ro: Excitable is perhaps the word Meena: Its definitely one word for him Meena: but that's okay, I'm not going to rain on anyone's parade Ro: Carly and Ali definitely do not need the distraction Meena: Like you said, she's Ali Meena: she'll still be able to do it Meena: aren't you excited to see him? Ro: Of course, always Ro: I just don't see why he needs to be so hands on with this Meena: I see what you mean Meena: its just so up his alley, I guess Ro: You're right Ro: There's a chance I'm being unfair Meena: No, I really do see Meena: but I don't think he'll come in and totally takeover, he's not that guy, is he? Meena: like he doesn't think he's better than us just 'cos he goes to that school Ro: I'm sure he just feels as if he's missing out, going to school so far away Meena: I imagine, yes Meena: we're all so involved in each other's day to day Ro: True Ro: There are so few secrets Meena: 🤔🤔🤔 what secrets are you hiding, hmm? Meena: 🤭 Ro: They wouldn't be if I refused to keep them Ro: Or at least try Meena: Too true Ro: If you would like me to trap Jenna's fingers in the piano lid, I promise not to tell a soul Meena: oh, I could NEVER 😏 Meena: no, I can't commit that cliche either Ro: Understandable Ro: I approve of you wishing to rise above them Ro: You do deserve a better story Meena: that's so sweet of you Meena: highly unlikely my story will mirror Sophie's any time soon Ro: Imagine growing up on such a beautiful island though Ro: I do envy her that, in spite of my love of Ireland itself Meena: and having such cool parents x4 Ro: Yes Ro: Although having three overprotective fathers would have its drawbacks as well Meena: You devil, Ro Ro: I was actually thinking of you and your budding romance Ro: I meanwhile remain a pillar of virtue Meena: 👼 Meena: Only getting hitched in the play, I can assure you Ro: For now Meena: 🙉 Oh hush 💛 Ro: Consider me silenced Ro: Simply because the dishes will not wash themselves Meena: Enjoy, Cinders Meena: I'll come to yours tomorrow, about 10? Ro: That's fine Meena: Yay! 'Til then 😊

Hm, I can try to share, though I'm not sure how much detail you wanted. I have never told anyone this but I have a oviposition kink and I have for a really long time. No rhyme or reason. Just years of day dreaming and embarassingly looking up ovipositor sex toys at 2 am every few months. Well, about a year ago I saw one I really liked with some pretty small beginner's eggs. I tried to stop thinking about it and failed. So a few weeks ago, I bought it! It was 3 am and I went to sleep immediately after because I was so embarassed. But, well. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. I'm SO excited I don't think I've ever looked forward to a sex toy this much ever in my LIFE. It's been featured in my dreams twice since I ordered it. It won't be here for probably another week because its shipping path is in the snowstorm but... the fantasies are strong. It's only for me for now but I think I would die of happiness, among other things, if a partner would be willing to use it on me. Soon it'll arrive and I'll finally get to try it. I hope it's not as good as I've imagined. I hope it's even better!
I'm way too shy for names but let's go with lucky mouse? -🍀🐀
Sorry I didn't get to this earlier, I was busy this morning and too tired last night.
First off, thank you for sending this ask! I know this sort of thing can be really difficult to talk about, especially when you are shy. Good little mouse! *pats your head*
Now oviposition. Not really my kink, but it also isn't something I mind or would find off putting if my partner was into it. Most people consider it weird and off putting, but I don't really see a fundamental difference in weirdness factor than something like tentacle kink or other monster fuckery that lands more on the monstery side of things. Basically, be reassured that no one reasonable who is into kinks and fetish stuff would hold it against you. Just want to make sure you get that.
I don't have much to say about the kink itself since it's not my thing, but congrats on ordering your toy! I hope you have as much fun as you hope you will. Also if I had a partner into that, I would totally be willing to play into that, so there is every chance you can find someone who will do that for you.
Last thing is, I have never actually had an in depth conversation with someone who is into oviposition. I like hearing about the details and the whys of kinks that are not squicks for me but are also not really my thing. I find it very interesting. But my anxiety makes it very difficult to have that kind of exploratory conversation in a public setting. I'm not sure if you would be interested in trying to figure a way to have a conversation about it in a more private setting, like in a discord chat or something.
