Hrmm... Revising my game and I feel like there's still sooo much writing left to do, for something that probably won't even amount to much, so.. I do want to narrow my focus more (especially given my health problems seeming to get worse/less energy the past few years), but I'm not sure how would be best to...

I currently have 5 characters as the Main ones with full planned questlines and such, with each character having 6 quests you can do for them. But I haven't really started the writing for the 5th main character. So then I was thinking, if I were going to write 6 full quests worth of content anyway... is it better to allocate that time on just doing a Complete 6 Quests for ONE single character, OR would it be better to do something like.. choose THREE side characters and do 2 quests for each of them? So that people have a wider variety to interact with and sort of sample around (of course with the idea that, once the first version of the game is released, IF people actually care about it enough to make it worth the effort, I would then add additional content to complete those 3 characters stories as well)

If you were playing an interactive fiction sort of game centered around talking to & doing quests for a cast of characters (like there's no larger plot, more it's just about interacting with people, every character kind of has a self contained story, the focus is just learning about them and the world and exploring the area) --- Which would you rather have?

(and of course it would be stated up front which characters have only partial questlines, so people don't expect them to have full quests like the others and then get disappointed, or etc. etc.)

Basically, is it better to just focus in specifically on having one fully complete questline? Or for there to be a few stories that are not complete yet, but have more initial options available?

#I guess I just feel weird about investing too much into characters if possibly nobody will like them. so the idea of being able to sample #around a wider variety opens up the option of like 'hey even if neither of these 4 are your favorite - you have 3 other options soon too!' #or whatever. So, when I was still using Photoshop, my main inking brush was Stumpy Pencil from here: https://stumpypencil.blogspot.com/2009/11/return-of-stumpy-pencil.html I use the Pencil: Stumpy 6 pt. for basically everything. :P

As for color and texture, I BELIEVE most of my brushes came from Charlie Bowater (free, here: https://charliebowater.gumroad.com/l/BoiJD) and Kyle T. Webster (uuuuh I'm not sure which set exactly anymore, though I've had good experience with everything I've used so a good ol' Google search should get you pointed in the right direction)! There are a few others as well, I think, but I've just been transferring all my brushes from install to install and I nnnnno longer recall from whom they came, I'm so sorry 😢Maybe Algenpfleger?

These days, I use Clip Studio primarily, so it's a different story--I've had to make a few myself (I had to recreate Stumpy Pencil, for instance, to my endless sorrow), and I'm not sssure how to share those or if I even can in a couple cases since I was grabbing old brush shapes, but I have gotten these brushes from the Clip Studio Assets, and I've messed around with most of these and liked them!

x2 is the best fandom for me because i rarely last long in fandoms where my views are the active majority (being part of the most popular ship or liking the most popular character etc) because in that case the activity is consistent and so i don't feel all that compelled to contribute and burn out really quickly from feeling satisfied by either canon or fandom or both

but while i'd confidently say kresniks are a fairly notable part of x2 fandom... there's like 5 people here 😂 so as a result i am compelled to contribute but i also don't feel pressured to because the fandom moves so slowly (read: not very much at all)

i am playing cyberpunk 77 and can confirm its not very good

#heres the thing. V occupies a very specific character niche that is popular in action movies and video games that i am so so weak for #the hypermasc hypertraumatized guy who employs incredible violence but is really really gentle with folks #and takes enormous amounts of personal responsibility and guilt for a narrative element that is not actually his fault #and the voice actor is good and i made a good face in the CC #BUT!! i cant recomend this game to anyone it crashes maybe four times an hour it remains to this day incredibly transphobic racist and mis #ogynistic ajd incredibly incredibly cringe. the combat is okay but the driving engine sucks #as does the parkour engines. i really hate the armor system and i think much of the player available fashion in the game #there are some parts of it that r very cool but like idk. i think its pretty poorly made but massively budgeted #in that it is often beautiful and that there are parts that are pretty cool but balancing and gameplay r just not up to tripple a standards #and this is all patch 1.5 so the quote fixed unquote version #anyways. i got it for five bucks but i recomend pirating it if u wanna play its not worth five bucks

Finally finished my Whorl redesign. They were cute before but idk, I wasn't digging their eyes. I gave them a frisbee head and they are much better for it now! More in depth info to be found below!

Whorls are a sophont from the slime ball planet Backera, the planets crust is entirely covered in miles thick microbial mat so the floor is always very much alive. The main form of "animal" life on the planet are the pentapods, analogous to Earth tetrapods in terms of niches and all that. Pentapods are distinguished by their five limbs, five jaws, partial exoskeleton, and an internal boney limb girdle. Whorls are from a clade of predatory pentapods who branched into frugivory a while back, eventually leading to tighter knit communities built around maintaining their farm mats. Whorls live in towns with populations between a few dozen to a few thousand, their settlements are also how they get their name. Their buildings are spiral shaped, expanded by spiraling them outward! I'm getting around to drawing that, its v cool. They eat mostly 'plant' matter, fruiting bodies from sessile organisms and maybe some choice floor scrapings. Meat is also greatly enjoyed, but is typically reserved for older Whorls or very small children. Children who by the by, go through a little aquatic stage before committing to wet land. Babies are traditionally left to grow in slow moving rivers, but modern times find communal pools to be a lot more popular.

Whorl families consist of one 'bearing' parent and anywhere from 1-5 'seeding' parents. Whorls do not have sexes, but they do have a few genders! Mostly they have to do with who is stabbing/getting stabbed and gender will change throughout a Whorls life. An important note here though is that most pentapods, including Whorls, fertilize via traumatic insemination stab. This is understandably rough on the stabbee so generally only older, larger individuals will be the ones going through pregnancy. That's the basic gist, will get more into it as I get around to it. But just wanted to reboot them a little!

did you know that prior to mass effect 3, female shepard was never used in any promotional material for the series?

(and there's no hard data available on this, but i very distinctly recall a lot of gamerbro outrage when me3 had an optional reversible cover so you could pick between male and fem shep on your personal game)

did you know that only 18% of players chose femshep in any shape or form (default or customized) during the original release?

(anecdotally, i know a few people who didn't even realize you could play a female at all in me1 bc of how the cc is setup)

did you know with the release of the legendary edition in 2021 the percentage of femshep players didn't even double (despite jennifer hale's seemingly enormous popularity amongst the broader playerbase over the past decade) and is reported at 32%?

did you know that dragon age inquisition has the same breakdown between male and female inquisitors (68% to 32% respectively)?

did you know during the playtests for assassin's creed odyssey, it was a 50/50 split between kassandra and alexios, and ubisoft suits actually thought when the game was released, kassandra would be more popular? and yet once again, about 70% of players chose the male protag

did you know evie and aya were both supposed to have a much larger roles in assassin's creed syndicate and origins but were forced into a smaller role bc the ubisoft marketing team didn't think the games would sell well with a female lead?

cdpr hasn't released data on male vs female v, probably because the game handles gender a little differently than just two strict options like many other rpgs, but it was revealed that panam was the most popular romance, sitting at about 68%, which means at least 68% of players chose the male v body. I'm sure some players did not make that choice as a cis male v, but i would also guess that those who didn't are a small minority of this demographic, and if you factor in kerry romancers, this split is probably very similar to other games in the genre

now i realize that a lot of the male v players who are in more transformative fandom spaces (like tumblr) are not the str8 gamer dudebros of reddit angry about pores on a female character's face and whatnot. i realize that a lot of you are also on the outskirts of the perceived norm and also feel under-represented by mainstream male protags and that's incredibly frustrating and alienating and i genuinely feel for you

but female protagonists and female gamers who want to play as female protagonists and who have a few niche spaces to celebrate female protags are not the reason for your lack of representation

and frankly you don't sound a whole lot different from the angry incel gamer boys when you say shit like "fem v gets too much attention"

so maybe try advocating for male protags who don't fit the generic boring gruff white guy mold without throwing women under the bus. we're should be allies in this fight, not rivals

When you know more about a thing, you’ll take more risks. Once you’ve owned enough unreliable cars, you can better sense when something is going to leave you on the side of the road. Let me give you a more concrete example: most cars need oil to run. The important thing is not to be afraid of taking dumb risks. Sure, there’s dumb dumb risks, but those are often done by people who don’t know what they are doing. In order to take smart dumb risks, you should spend your entire life accumulating knowledge of a niche field, so that you know what you can safely ignore, and what you can put off for another couple thousand miles to save thirty bucks, tops. i am genuinely shocked that it isn't bigger as a pairing - surely we're all agreed that "i have seen your heart, and it is mine" is an outrageously romantic thing for the locket-horcrux to say to ron? surely we've all deeped that the locket makes its bid to save itself by showing ron softcore pornography? - but not, i think it's worth saying, because i think there's any merit in the tedious fanon [particularly prevalent in ships which pair hermione with other men] that ron is a closet blood-supremacist who'd make an amazing death eater. he's not - he's principled and loyal and, even in a world where voldemort wins and he's the only member of the trio left alive, he's not going over to the dark side. it sounds too much like hard work. 

instead, i back ronmort as a pairing because ron is... kind of mother. and we all know lord v's very much in want of one of those.

So I just finished Edgerunners, I mean I could tell it was gonna end badly (as in it is sad not badly made) from the Easter egg in the game and the endings we get there. I'll admit I didnt find it easy to binge watch but I've finally watched it and love the aesthetics of some of the characters so maybe I'll do more. I inspired the jacket more on the in game version, with the labels and everything. Had to place the sleeve labels on different place and take some creative liberties but mostly it's as accurate as I could get it. I didn't remove the normal spec or shadow.

Jacket is a recolour of @darte77 's Cyberpunk Jacket. You need the MESH (only need Darte77_m_Top22aHQ). Included a version with light emission and without. It was my first time doing this and I couldn't get it to flash slowly so if it bothers you get the normal version :) I know some areas could be better but I did my best with my limited CC creating knowledge.

Pants also my recolour of the same creator as the jacket, you need the MESH also. (Darte77_04pantsHQ.package)

Shoes are just a recolour of base game sneakers.

I updated the hair! I found this archived version of his hair as the original creator site was deleted.

"Cyberware" was "painted" by me and random Sandevistan image tattoo included. Again, I did my best 😅I know it's all a bit meh and someone else could probably do it better but the cyberpunk sims community is way to niche and past trend. I copied the pattern from some Cyberpunk2077 cc images, not the anime, and I made up some of the geometry because it was a nightmare 😂 It is in the upper back tattoo category.

Necklace is this by @gorillax3-cc though I can't find the one necklace version so maybe it's included?

Hahaha I love questions like these! I’m not sure if they’re niche but I love all the nuances, like things I never thought of. Like my boyfriend’s upper back by his neck jiggles when I squish it and I was like holy shit that’s so cool!! I loveeeee being squashed like once we were at a museum and he just squished me up against the wall and my mind went all fuzzy 🤤 and he sent me a video of him ripping out of a way too small button down 😍🥵 OH and at the museum there was a hallway type thing that gets tighter as you go through it and he couldn’t fit and hnggggggggg that was v good
