I didn’t like the established back story of the IMF
Like for lack of a better phrase but when did they decide the IMF is the suicide squad? It just seems like something so unnecessary that they could say to later reinforce Grace’s position on the team, but we aren’t even seeing her in part two? This is the first time they’ve brought this up and it could’ve just been left. Plus realistically how much do we all believe that Luther, Benji and, Ethan were in such bad shit from crimes they had created (or were framed) that they were coerced to pick a government agency of an IMPOSSIBLE mission force because it was better than the alternative, like how long were they ALL going to prison for? I know people can change and shit but these characters weren’t written that way? If this was something established in M1 we would be seeing way different characters and more growth would we not? It just seemed like something lazy and tacked on so they could recruit Grace which to be honest could have easily been done another way.

I just want to specify, I don’t hate villains getting redeemed.
I hate though the easy, unearned, exponential power-up of Gentle, in a flashback. Making him solo that prison in that same arc where HK sidelined the entire Class A, not letting them have a single villain fight even though there were more than enough to go around.
And I especially hate fandom praising this as peak writing. The same dudebros who still want Shigaraki and Dabi to die, who still want Bakugou to be featless and humiliated, who still diss all the class a characters as useless pawns and yell foul whenever the kids get to do anything.
But when the loser middle-aged YouTuber with the under-age looking love interest suddenly gets an exponential and unexplained power-up, there is no problem with it. Because it’s another character they can project onto who gets rewarded immediately for doing one good thing.
I really hope these dudebros will keep their mouths shot when it’s gonna be the kids’ turn to shine.

You ever get to the point in a show, where you’re not sure if you’re accurately seeing what’s really there, or if there’s so much influence from fandoms and headcanons that it permanently skews your point of view?
I’m still watching Yellowstone, though at this point, I don’t know why. It’s edging towards Game of Thrones level of “There Are No Likeable Characters Why Am I Watching This?”
I used to really like Beth. Honestly, I did. But the more I rewatched it, and the more that the story progresses, the more I just want to slap the shit out of her, because she is a modern day Antigone, and it’s driving me up the wall.
I am more than willing to admit that a huge chunk of that is because I personally hate the narrative of the only love you can have is for your spouse, or your biological family. Like somehow sharing DNA or a bed is the only way you can ‘truly’ love someone. Because fuck that narrative. I don’t see my biological family except once every 20 years (a few, next time I see them, will be their funeral, because they’re twats). My godchildren have no biolgical ties to me whatsoever, and my parents treat them like their grandchildren. I love them as if they were my own. I have never, ever wanted biological kids but I want to adopt at some point, and I will go to jail for assault and battery if anyone ever tried to tell me the vile crap they spew on TV shows regarding adoption.
But at this point, I want Beth dead. I want her dead, and I don’t want a miracle walk away, because I draw the line at threatening children, especially toddlers. I don’t give a fuck what happened - this does not make the case of ‘Well, Beth would be nicer if she had her own kids’ because we’ve seen she absolutely would not. She’s undiagnosed schizophrenic psychopath at this point. The beginning of the season she’s telling her father he needs to move on from his wife, which is fucking hilarious given that she has sabotaged every attempt at a relationship her father has like some deranged Elektra complex with the justification that ‘they’re not my mother, and they can never compare’ (up to and including arranging to have one of the women thrown into prison for 10 years). She has a husband who loves unconditionally, and has point blank said he doesn’t want kids, he doesn’t even like dogs. She winds up with a teenager that comes to live at the ranch that desperately wants her to be his mom, she has a job whenever she needs one, her father loves her and still - she is a fucking horrible human being. The kid she ‘adopts’ - she and Rip throw him in the basement, and the first time she gets mad at him, she assaults him in a store, and another mother films her and threatens to call CPS (which she should’ve anyways) and the mother is shown as the nosy-busybody Karen who should mind her own business. Beth has the patience of a honey badger on meth. She has zero impulse control. None of which would magically be fixed if she had a biological child.
But that seems to be where the narrative is heading. Like oh, it’s because of her brother that she’s this upset/unhinged/self-loathing....if ONLY SHE COULD REPRODUCE, SHE WOULD BE FULFILLED. Are. You. Fucking. Kidding me. And everything in the fandom is how great Beth is, and how relatable she is, and then going through fanfic, the she’s written so completely out of character you would assume that it was a mis-labelled AU, and it makes me wonder if we’re watching the same show. If the character they’re writing is what they identify with, they’re not the same person, and the more I watch the show trying to see what they see, the more I know we’re not watching the same thing.
At this point, if Jamie doesn’t eventually snap and kill her or at least hit her with the car, I will be amazed.

(This is a little bit of a rant, I apologize. You aren't obligated to read it, I just needed to put it somewhere in someone's view so it wasn't gnawing away my sanity like some dirty secret.)
TW: mentions of extreme food allergies and intolerances, hypoglycemia, diabetes, brief mention of possibility to food-related death
Y'all...
My friend's kid is coming into the world in like a month and I just pray this child is free from dietary and immunity issues.
As a child that couldn't and still can't as an adult, eat white bread, mayonnaise or cosume things with red dye or suffer debilitating migraines from eating highly glutenous foods that we didn't know were causing them until I was like 14, I want this kid to enjoy childhood without having to constantly, methodically search ingredient labels just to find out if she can consume something as simple as a Caprisun.
The joy that eating brings you at mealtime begins to die with the more limits you have to follow. What was once a wide open plain is now a horrific and claustrophobic box and that you cannot step out of for fear of causing yourself some kind of accidental harm. Sameness becomes annoying and boring.
Food becomes bland and you become desperate so all you have to turn to is a spice drawer, but if I put certain things on it, it becomes inaccessible for my mom. She's allergic to all kinds of peppers to the point that she could die from certain amount of ingestion.
She's even allergic to peanuts and various tree nuts, but almonds are safe and she thinks cashews taste like stale peanuts.
She didn't always have a peanut allergy, but wasn't always hypoglycemic and my dad wasn't always diabetic.
I want this child to come into the world ready and able to explore food. I hope she doesn't develop ARFID or any other eating disorder and become stressed about certain foods, I want her to be adventurous with food. I hope she is able to try things like Belizean Stew Chicken, Egg Salad Sandwiches, and other really popular food items where I live.
All of this may sound incredibly weird and kind of selfish, but as a child that only knew I could for sure eat about 10 different things, I do not wish those horrific walls to anyone, especially with how long it took me to find ways to enjoy food again.

Why I love the end of School Live! so much
First of all any of the main four dying would have emotionaly devastated me and second of all when I first got into the serie, my mental health wasn't really great and it taught me that relationships can be hard and messy but reaching out to people is worth it and that yes, sometimes life is weird and unfair and hard but good things are here too and sometimes trying your best in enough and you survive :>

something I really appreciate about first kill is that there was no time wasted in the whole pining department. Like it is set up in the very first episode that they have crushes on each other and it is IMMEDIATELY defused because they kiss, and like do I love mutual pining? yes, but is it just so nice to have a kiss happen in the first episode? ALSO YES. and it didn't feel like insta love because it was very clearly established that they’ve had crushes from afar and this is spin the bottle so it makes sense, and I thought it was perfectly clear and reasonable that yeah this could happen and it’s because it all shows that I am utter trash for (think like Gilmore Girls and the like) this has been established as something that Happens and it’s just nice to see it be about queer people

i honestly can’t get over this whole nyck thing. i just. ??????. the year f1 introduce all these rookie sessions to try and help young drivers progress they just proved how it was all for show. they let nyck drive for like twelve teams and didn’t once interfere with that to say like “hey. that’s the opposite of why we put the rule in” they just let it happen. and with alfa’s shitty loophole too. if the rule didn’t have to apply to both cars alfa would’ve counted saudi as zhou’s second session too and they even admitted that with no shame.
what is the point of feeder series and young driver programs if someone (who’s already an fia world champion so like. the opposite of a young rookie trying to build up experience) just gets to drive every fucking rookie practice session and is a reserve for literally every fucking team on the grid.
i have nothing against nyck specifically but this is exactly why i can’t see myself ever rooting for him. he’s basically the more experienced guy that took so so so many opportunities away from the young drivers this year and it is so shitty. so so shitty.

I just had a paediatrician scream in me over the phone
I work at a doctor’s office and I had to phone to get a little one admitted to the hospital. Usual procedure is phone hospital, book a bed for the little one, phone specialist, give them little human’s details, and tell them the parents are on their way.
This woman had the audacity to scream on me over the phone saying I’m stupid, I know nothing, I should phone her first and went on this huge rant.
Ma’am, I work at a GP’s office. I cannot possibly memorise every single practice in our area’s procedures for admitting patients. We live in the middle of nowhere…
I hate fucking specialists. They are cocky, rude and they barely ever work. We admit patients who have emergencies, real emergencies, and then I get the “sorry ma’am, doctor doesn’t work on Thursdays and Fridays, he is also on holiday for a month from this and this date”. Ma’am he just came back from holiday! How the fuck…
I have very little respect for people who chose to dedicate their lives to medicine and then spend the rest of their time in their practice fucking up and being rude and not doing what they said they will. I have respect for those in the medical field who want to better this world and help people.
Not all medical practitioners are the same and we have to be honest about that for a moment. We literally avoid some specialists due to their bad work ethic.
If you study medicine, do it because you actually want to help. Because you actually have a passion to help people. Not because you can take a trip to Switzerland every 4 months or to take your wife shopping in Monaco every 5 months. We have too many people studying medicine because they are promised a fat cheque and not enough people studying medicine to help people.
Not all doctors are built equal…

I’m gonna lose it if I see another Little Miss meme, it’s the fucking ugliest artwork I’ve ever seen in my life, I did not get born safely in the 1980s only to be haunted by these fucking Schoolhouse Rock-wannabe monstrosities now that I’m pushing 40, please god how does no one else see that these are the worst??? The fucking worst???

i think hotd discourse is so much more frustrating than got discourse, at least for me, because hotd is good? like got was poorly written and so we were all just making up our own characterizations of events according to whom we liked and it was fine because any reading made sense based on what we saw on screen, because it was bad. i could disagree with somebody about something but ultimately it was a really really death of the author experience because the only intent the writers had was “shock people and show tits”
but hotd is good!! there’s so much intention in so many of the choices!! it’s saying so much about narrative and history and the role of women and sexual exploitation!! there are things about it which are underwritten or worthy of critique but there is so much there that lends itself to really interesting discussion. so it’s so much more frustrating to see people fall into the team black/team green discourse completely unironically. like you’re allowed to like characters on one side more than the other, but everyday i see these bad faith readings and it’s just frustrating because the story is so good and i don’t see how watching on a “team” doesn’t completely wreck the experience.

when u go to write a mentally ill person in ur story you are presented two options. the first option is to write your mental illness realistically as you actually experience it with all the ups and downs and people who are like you will resonate with it and feel seen. except every person who reads instagram infographics on mental health that uses the phrase narcicisst for anyone who does anything that crosses them and unironically call themself a dark empath will call you scary and tell you that youre demonizing mentally ill people
the second option is to lie and write inspiration porn for those people to get hard to

Tiny art rant incoming :)
I have all these thoughts and visions of art I wanna make that is so meaningful to me because it's sensual and lovely and lively and beautiful and just absolutely wonderous because it came from me and it's my art.
These thoughts, I want them to make connection with my hands. I want to feel that rushing sensation from my brain to my hand and watch it become physically existent.
I just need it to happen.
I will try to share them them with you when they finally take their physical form.

“Bamboo is antifungal”
Because it’s rayon
“Eucalyptus fabric is cooling!”
Yeah, because it’s rayon
“We make clothing called seacell out of seaweed!”
Yeah I looked on your website it’s made by the lyocell process, which means-
-wait for it-
It’s fucking rayon!!
Listen. There is a list of actual plant fibers that are directly made into fabric: cotton, linen, ramie, some hemp. I’m sure I’m missing a couple.
But if you’re wondering “huh how did they turn that plant material into fabric,” 99% of the time? It’s RAYON.
All rayon is made by putting plant material in chemical soup, dissolving out everything but the cellulose, and turning the cellulose into filaments/fibers.
The source of the cellulose has zero effect on the eventual fabric.
Rayon made from bamboo or eucalyptus or seaweed is not any better than rayon from any other sources.
Don’t let companies mislead you!
