Genuinely can't comprehend how there's undertale fans out there who get mad at streamers for not going for true pacifist first and who feel the urge to backseat.
I was watching pointcrow's first playthrough earlier and there was legit one person in chat saying 'as an undertale veteran this pains me' and... It shouldn't! Playing blind and not doing everything 'right' the first time is EXACTLY how it should be done - it's the most organic experience and the coolest way to enjoy it. (There's no right way to play it btw, every way of playing undertale is right).
Backseating and trying to reveal what LOVE is and telling people they messed up just sucks. Undertale is a fun and compelling game and if people like it, they'll typically go back and try pacifist (and usually genocide too) later! Doing neutral first makes pacifist feel so much more magical!!!! All that bleakness suddenly starts to disappear! A full second playthrough also lets you get all the dialogue about frisk seeming familiar to everyone, which you miss out on by just going straight to undyne's letter or by triggering the genocide route.
Let first time players play how they want and let them have fun! Backseating and/or telling them things taints a blind run and takes so much fun out of it. I didn't think people did it any more but crow played it last year and his chat was still full of that. Undertale let's you do so much and people need time to figure it out manually.
I feel like longtime undertale fans should get that, y'know? Trial by fire - I always wish I got to play fully blind but I watched a run first. If someone's gone all this time without knowing anything, let them figure it out in their own time and watch the magic happen.

btw i swear i'll probably get around to writing the final update to the Roommate Undertale Saga at some point buuuut now that we've finished the true pacifist run. for no reason in particular does anybody have any recommendations for a good genocide run playthrough to watch
rn we're still deciding if we Do wanna watch an actual youtuber or if we just wanna go with a no commentary playthrough but personally since i Did guide them through a lot of their playthrough idk how much it's set in just how deep the game part of it goes & i think i want something/someone that would show that a lil better, especially in the struggle with Those Two Boss Fights. a zero commentary run where they just blitz through those two would take the spice out yknow. but i also do not want to sit through like 2 hours of frisk running at a wall

Info on the Advanced Magic Au character sheets, simple designs posts for any aus, and comics for AM! Undertale Au here:
Character sheets are delayed for now due to Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving btw! They will be back as soon as possible, and as soon as I figure out Undyne and Muffet (and a different secret boss fight) designs.
The reason I have not figured these designs out is because I am trying to keep them as close to the original Undertale designs as possible while still being noticeably different. The reason that flowey is not very different, and Why Toriel is basically unchanged, is because this Au is supposed to appear as if you were going to play though a normal Undertale playthrough, and then the Au slowly shows how it is different.
Simple designs of characters, such as fell or horror, are only temporary unless they become popular, but I doubt it. These are just filler posts until I can get caught up with the Au.
The comics for AM! Au will be coming soon, and will be posted along intermediately with the character sheets. There may also be sneak peeks of the comics, with sketches and colored pictures of characters as I go, but not the full comic. These will probably not be with every comic.
These comics will be in the order of pacifist run, neutral run, and then genocide. If popular, characters designs for the other souls and comics of their journey through the underground may also be posted. Those would just be snippet comics, and not full comics.
Speaking of snippet comics, ones like the Grillby one will also be posted. They are going to be one or two panel comics, and generally lower quality than the actual comics. However, they may also have more detail than normal comics, as shown in the flirting Grillby one.
That is it for the update! I believe I do not have any followers, so if you like the content I've already posted, maybe follow so you can keep up with the progress! Thank you! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Hi! How about 22 and/or 23 for the salty ask? :)
Yes YES it's an ASK!!!
22. Popular character you hate?
Canon Gavin. Fandom Gavin I like because Detroit Evolution was actually pretty cool and he ended up being a good character there, but canon Gavin has absolutely no redeemable qualities. He physically harasses 2 androids, almost kills (or in bad playthroughs successfully kills) one of them, is openly hostile and makes fun of Hank's alcoholism, and never once is he shown being kind to anyone. (I get even more annoyed at the fandom when they try to defend his behaviors by saying "oh but he uses he/him pronouns to refer to androids instead of just calling them "it" a couple times, or oh, he just has a tragic past!!! Which isn't mentioned in the game at all!!!!! And then they go hate on North for wanting to kill humans only when they are a direct threat to her or other androids' lives and only kills a total of one person, the man who raped her in her backstory, in a pacifist playthrough.) I mean, in the game he's pretty much there just to be the literal character representation of police brutality and workplace harassment. Given all he is and does, I think I'm being pretty goddamn nice when I say he fucking sucks but could get a redemption arc if you really tried.
23. Unpopular character you love?
North. She's the best, and while I don't agree with a lot of her violence, she's still a great character and is completely justified for having her beliefs based on her past. She deserved better writing than David fucking Cage wrote for her (aka she shouldn't have to be "calmed down" by Markus and only be successful when he's there).
I also have to mention Adam, Shaolin, and the Stratford Tower android. Adam gets a bad rep because he starts off thinking androids are machines, but he turns around. In both the river and border crossing routes, he apologizes to Kara and the fam and acknowledges their human qualities. Meanwhile, Shaolin and the Stratford Tower android are the only deviants that the fandom doesn't redeem or make near any content of. While Shaolin did murder his owner, he had been abused for months, emotionally and physically, and at the time he murdered his owner he was being beaten with a baseball bat. Then, while the Stratford Tower android did try to kill Connor and then several humans, it was only after Connor exposed him as the deviant, threatening his own life. He helped Markus and the Jericrew, and he didn't attack until he was ruthlessly interrogated and possibly even tortured by Connor. Meanwhile, even Daniel, who takes the life of several different people and takes a little girl hostage who isn't threatening him in any way or involved in the situation... the fandom has sympathy for. And I wonder why it's the black characters that people ignore while they give all the white, male ones a second or third or a million chances. 🙄
Thank you for the ask! Love your blog btw 💛
Feel free to ask me more here!

Cyber World seem like The CORE if that part of the underground was longer. On both of my playthroughs of Undertale (both pacifist, btw) The CORE felt like the shortest section.

I've noticed you posting undertale stuff. Is it a good game? I've owned it for years but never actually opened it.
is
is undertale a good game.
idk the pope owns it so thats probably something
no but seriously undertale was a massive hyperfixation of mine when it first came out. i know it became a massive meme, and i think it’s become cool to pretend it was overhyped now, but its just really kind and heartfelt, and i adore every single one of the characters. there’s a sincerity to it that really gets to you, that makes the pacifist route warm and cozy and the genocide route absolutely devastating. plus its one of those games where just about anything you do will get you a unique line of dialogue, so there’s a ton of replay value, at least if you’re like me and scour games for all the Lore(tm) you can find. (and believe me, there is a LOT of lore that you don’t even really get from the first playthrough, including shit you can only find in the goddamn code that people have written just an absurd amount of theories about. you dont need any of that to enjoy the game for what it is but damn is it a fascinating rabbit hole to go down)
i don’t know if any of that makes it a “good game,” in a way that someone who plays a lot of games would mean; the gameplay itself is pretty basic and the graphics and stuff are charming but not particularly mindblowing. but it’s a wonderful experience, and i’ve never met someone who regretted playing it.
EDIT: oh btw if you do decide to give it a go, don’t do the genocide route first. mostly you can do whatever you want in the game and still get a good experience, but the genocide route makes absolutely zero sense if you don’t already know what was sort of “supposed” to happen.

WHAT.
WHAAAAAT.
Okay, so this is me just waking up and providing my earlier promised word vomit, but I HAVE A THEORY.
Deltarune Spoilers below.
Okay, so, first off, I was initially super unimpressed with Deltarune’s story. It was fun and charming but it was no Undertale, and the whole Lightener/Darkener storyline was pretty uninspired after the monster/human one. But I just shrugged it off as a decent way to spend Halloween.
THEN there was the Asriel reveal, and I was like “Oh, okay, there he is. He was the Bat Boy all along” (who, btw, both Wit and I were screaming about how much we didn’t want him to be evil because he was so precious and fluffy.) So okay. THEN I wandered around the town. Because I know Toby Fox and I know you have to look at EVERYTHING. Gerson was a dead historian, but okay whatever. And then Undyne didn’t know Alphys, which seemed weird. And then Bratty and Catty hated each other and that’s when I knew something was up.
After catching someone be like “lol it’s Toby Fox making fun of AUs,” though, it clicked. That’s what this is.
It’s an AU.
Specifically Suburban AU. (Or Teacher AU ha haaaa.) But it has the framework of Undertale but trying to fit characters in places that almost work. Toriel and Asgore are divorced parents. Asriel’s gone because he’s at college. Sans and Papyrus are the new kids (?) in town--and probably the intended main characters in this AU because of course they are, they always are.
PLUS it makes the whole Lightener/Darkener plotline make so much sense. In my post-playthrough screaming session with @im-fairly-whitty, I was saying that it’s basically Undertale-lite in every sense. There’s bits and pieces of Toby Fox here or there, but the non-party characters aren’t as endearing (save for Rouxl, who is a GIFT), the conflict isn’t as tense, and it even ends with a “was it all a dream?” cop-out. Super not Toby’s style. But if it’s an AU, then it makes total sense.
(Also, worth noting, when I say non-party characters aren’t as endearing, Lancer is not included. Lancer is a wonderful boy, and his friendship with Susie was my favorite part.)
ANYWAY. Deltarune is definitely Suburban AU. But then what happened with Kris at the end?
I have a theory.
Multiple timelines are canon in Undertale. In Sans’ Genocide fight, he says that timelines are being eaten up by the anomaly, which he reads as Frisk--but, in actuality, is you the player. (I had my own headcanons about what that meant, but those don’t matter right now.) The anomaly is going through and destroying timelines and has made it to Undertale’s.
So what I think we’re seeing is the carnage that came before we got to Undertale. We’re watching timelines get destroyed.
My issue is, who’s the anomaly? Is it us, or is it an outside force taking a hold of the vessel?
I think it might be a little bit of both.
In Undertale, there was a lot of debate over whether Chara (who uses the name you give) is the main antagonist of genocide or if you are. The general consensus is that you’re the one who makes the choices that enables Chara to come out and finish the job. And I think Deltarune leans more into that.
In the beginning, you’re asked, as the creator, to give your name. That’s the name used on the save files. So the game knows you’re there and it’s addressing you as the controller of what happens in the game--it’s following the same kind of thought as OFF had with the “puppeteer”. It also tells you over and over that your choices don’t matter.
What’s interesting about Deltarune is that there really is no choice. Most people, of course, played Pacifist, because we all know Undertale and are used to our choices changing the outcome of the game. But in Deltarune, there’s no way to play Genocide. Your enemies flee before you can kill them. Everyone lives regardless of your choices. No matter what, you’re playing Pacifist.
And I don’t think Kris likes that.
After the initial screaming at the SOUL-ripping scene, I thought it was INCREDIBLY obvious what it was supposed to mean. You control Kris via SOUL. They rip out their SOUL and throw it into a cage, freeing themself from your control before having a knife materialize in their hand.
And you have no choice but to accept it, because you as the player have no power here.
I don’t know where Deltarune’s going to go, but I think it’s going to involve you going head to head with the Anomaly to save the timelines. And I’m super excited to see that storyline.
...also, excuse my language, but fuck Jevil.

Detroit: Become Human- Blind Play Through, Outcomes and Quick Review
Was very excited to play this, and purchased it within 24hrs of seeing the trailer for the first time.
It didn’t disappoint; in fact, it’s the best choose-your-own-adventure video game I have ever played (though there admitting isn’t very many due to the complexities of designing a game with so many possible alterations in the story).
As much as I’ve loved the Walking Dead games and The Wolf Among Us (Telltale), Detroit:Become Human has absolutely shamed them in terms of how it doesn’t half-ass the approach to “your story is tailored through your choices” like Telltale did (for Walking Dead at least).
You want to save a character? As long as you get them safe, you can. It doesn’t do an Ava/Trip copout and kill them both within the same or the very next chapter in order to “tie up” events. You just save them. Your decisions almost ALWAYS matter.
My only criticisms are with the story itself; the idea that androids so advanced exist and work so seamlessly in the not so distant future is laughable, in all honesty, seeing as Apple have a hard enough time getting Siri to understand Scottish accents in the year 2018.
I also had a bit of a problem with the scenes in Jericho and anywhere too dark. I understand that this could be due to my old ass, relatively low/mid-spec TV though. The graphics were very good but scenes where the lighting was low (not counting black out scenes btw) were a little tricky to navigate.
Another minor peeve was the way racism was presented in the game; the story is obviously a allegory for how people don’t treat each other (especially illegal immigrants) with the respect that any human being ought to be afforded, but I found the whole “androids ride in a separate carriage at the back of the bus” slightly ham-fisted and too on-the-nose. It didn’t need to do that; I could already see that the story was about race and what it means to be human.
The latter, also makes you wonder why the humans were so bothered with being separated from their androids on the bus but will gladly have them help around their homes and live alongside them like nannies and butlers.
It’s very obvious that Connor and Hank are based of Sonny and Del from the film, iRobot. But I suppose that’s less of a criticism and more of an observation.Maybe this was deliberate? It must be. (I still loved their friendship).
Outcomes (1st Playthrough)
Connor: died in Jericho (didn’t mash button quickly enough 😓) after being shot
Markus: Dead (became a martyr for a pacifist uprising)
Kara and Alice: Dead (got to the Canadian border and found the tickets but had a change of heart and gave them back, then bumped into a guard, was scanned and promptly shot)
Luther: Dead
Hank: Dead (fell off roof while fighting Connor v2)
Simon: Dead (left on roof)
Jericho and the Android cause: Defeated by humans
North: Alive but due to be destroyed (failed to adopt Markus’ approach to the uprising and ultimately lost)
Connor v2: Spared North (failing his mission but allowing him to keep some of his humanity)
Menu Chloe: Free 😊
Favourite moments: Markus’ introductory chapter, Connor teasing Hank by the food truck, Kara curling up beside Alice at the motel and realising she loves her.
Favourite character: Sonn- I mean Connor, with Carl a very close second.
Characters I dislike: Zlatko (sick fucko), Gavin (prick), Todd (Satan), North (extreme and didn’t change in her- perfectly justifiable- views towards humans despite my Markus/her “friend” being a total pacifist) and Amanda (cold, but I suppose that’s due to the fact she was an early android?)
Characters I wanted to like but am pretty indifferent to: Rose ( she is pretty 2D because she is apparently the only person to know what slavery is??? Only 20 years from now and we’ve just totally forgotten that? Really...? Still liked her warmth though), Luther (similarly to Rose, I would’ve probably loved Luther if his character had been given more dimension).
I’m disappointed with the ending I got but hey 🤷‍♀️ I can always rewrite the story, can’t I?
