Everything will be different now
Peter Parker/Natasha Romanoff
SpiderWidow
Peter doesn't want to believe what is happening.  The first stage is always denial.  He writes off his obsession with a hormonal surge.  The guy does not cease to convince himself that he will still find his true love, because he is surrounded by quite beautiful girls of his age, and Peter himself is sure that he does it well (no)
     Parker can only allow himself to fantasize, which however (as he thought) was enough for him.  There were plenty of reasons to stay in the shadows.  The most obvious of these was the age difference.  He is 18, and she is 35. Yes, and reciprocity could not be counted on.  A stately, intelligent, beautiful, and most importantly, a respected woman, and a teenager who cannot pacify his hormones.  Completely different people.  It's funny even to think about it.  Parker understood this, and each time the awareness of reality cut him from the inside, delivering incredible pain and suffering.
                          ***********
  Natasha had fiery red hair.  It seemed that only by touching them, you could get a great burn.  Romanoff was all fire, and Peter was a moth, spellbound by the fire.  Knowing that he was going to certain death, he continued to fly.
                              ************
     Peter loved looking at Natasha.  Sometimes she noticed it, but with a great desire to look away, Parker still did not do it.  After all, if he averts his eyes, one gets the impression that he was caught for something obscene.  For a while, it seemed to Peter that she appreciated his attention, and that is why, in response to his studying look, she gives a warm smile, which he forever imprints in his memory.  If he wanted to, Peter could remember each of her smiles, each of which he appreciated and remembered.  Parker smiles back at her, hoping that he does not look stupid. At first they silently look into each other's eyes and do not need extra words, such moments come when both want to be distracted from the madness around them, and they do this, finding comfort in  each other's eyes.  Peter appreciates every moment that slips into these, to some extent, "intimate" minutes for the guy himself.  And then Natasha looks down at him, shifting her gaze again to the eyes studying her.  Peter swears he saw her bite her lip lightly one day.  And after the exchange of smiles, Natasha averted her eyes, as if there were no glances and smiles a second ago.  These "glances" remained only between them.  For Peter, such moments were intimate and carried a special value.  But each time he was forced to instill in himself, contrary to his wishes, that this was their special friendly gesture, which was long overdue to become some kind of routine.  But he could not deceive himself.  These views turned him wildly.  A pleasant feeling burned in his chest, just thinking about how he wanted to continue.  But he still preferred his fantasies.
                                   ******
        There is another way to get Peter's heart to do somersaults.  During their gatherings in the Avengers Tower, Parker is always in his favorite place - on the left side of the sofa.  Natasha always sits down next to him, tightly pressing shoulder to shoulder, as if deliberately embarrassing the guy, but the following moments make Peter's heart literally jump out of his chest.  After a minute (if not less), she grabs Peter's hand, interlaces her fingers with his, and wraps her hands behind their backs.  Peter starts to shake every time Romanoff does this.  They did it all the time, but for Spidey it was like the first time.  He tries not to squeeze her thin hand too tightly, although in his state it is difficult to control himself.  But not too weak either.  Peter starts to breathe more quickly, and can hardly contain himself not to stare at her, showing his indignation.
                                      ****
  Natasha feels him trembling every time, but she never says anything, because she guesses that these moments mean something to Peter and she doesn't want to hurt him with her grin (although it was very difficult to restrain herself).  But she could not do this to him, no one treated her so reverently and attentively.  And of course this attitude flattered her.  But the boy is only eighteen.  She will not forgive herself if she "seduces" a boy who has recently become an adult.  After all, it's not okay to try to please a boy who is 17 years younger than her.  But Romanoff probed the possible ground with such casual but obvious gestures.  And, God, how she liked to watch his reaction, how he got lost, but made every possible effort to seem more confident, not even realizing that Natasha saw him through.  She took pleasure in first encouraging him, and then cutting off, not letting him really understand anything and pretend that she didn’t do anything.  One day she allowed herself to bite her lip.  Peter even glanced around to make sure the gesture was meant for him, and then fell into a stupor with realization.  This time, Peter thought it would be more appropriate to look away this time.  This amused her greatly.  But the Spider did not make it clear whether the Spider was scared or simply did not expect such a sharp turn of events.
                                   *****
    Usually Natasha understood what she wanted and always confidently walked towards the intended goal.  But Peter ... he changed her mind.  She didn't want to see anyone but herself next to Parker.  Every time Romanoff saw the Spider, something warm and viscous spilled over her chest.  An ordinary person would think that she was just a little nervous, but Natasha denied any thoughts of this nature.  Would she be nervous?  Never!
  Peter became for Natasha a kind of weak point, an obsession.

      One day changed the fate of both.
    Peter spent his Saturday morning at his home in Queens.  It was early March and that day turned out to be rather cloudy, and then huge dark clouds hung over the city, warning of imminent rain.  On such days, I do not want to do anything, there comes some kind of apathy for everything.  Peter liked to devote such days to watching movies or reading books.  These activities somehow lifted my spirits.
      But his idyll was broken only by one phone call.
   "Peter!"  Fury's voice came from the tube - "listen carefully, now we have a very important task, but I'm not calling you for this" - Peter was intrigued - "we don't need the whole Avengers, but Stark said that training for you will not be superfluous, so you  I have to come to the base, we will leave you someone for training, and we are already flying out, so I recommend to hurry."
  Before Peter had time to say anything in response, beeps were heard from the other side, announcing the end of the conversation.  Peter dreamed of getting on some "top secret" assignment.  He can't wait to prove himself.  He wants to seem more responsible and adult than he really is, but it seems to him that no one takes him seriously (Even during telephone conversations).  He wanted some kind of recognition.  And each time, hoping for a serious assignment, he only gets training with Steve or, even worse, with Barnes, from whose hands it is impossible to get out alive.  But it is useless to argue.
      After a while, Peter was already entering the main hall, looking around such a familiar room.  The interior was empty and Peter was about to turn around to search other rooms.  But before he could do this, his eyes covered someone's palms.  Not having time to understand anything, Peter turned sharply, brushing off other people's hands, and grabbing a potential "attacker" by the wrists.  Imagine his surprise when he turned sharply and looked into Natasha's green eyes.
  “What are you doing?” The redhead asked with a touch of irony. “It's just a joke, Peter.
  “Sorry, reflex,” Peter justified himself, feeling a little guilty.
  “Yes, I understand,” Natasha replied with a note of mockery. “Well, what do you propose to do?
  “By training?” Parker answered with an obvious lack of understanding in his voice, not expecting such a question.
  “Are you really doing everything Stark tells you?” Romanoff asked in surprise.
  "Well ... I think it will be useful ... and ..." Not knowing what to say, Peter tried to continue.
  “God, just don’t say that you’re afraid of the evil uncle Tony, who will come and scold us?” Natasha pouted her lower lip and raised her eyebrows.  And then she could not restrain herself at all, she laughed.
  Parker could not help smiling, realizing how funny and true it sounds.
  “Why didn't you go with them?” Peter asked a question that had been of interest to him for a long time.
  “They decided that I was too often involved in operations, and that I deserved to rest,” Mocking Fury, and raising her index finger, she lowered her voice and spoke just like him.
  This made Peter laugh out loud.  The resemblance to Fury is amazing.
  “I've never heard so many jokes from you, only if during your quarrels with Mr. Stark.” Peter said.
  “You just don't know me well, but you can take this wonderful opportunity and get to know me better,” said Romanoff a little more quietly, shifting her gaze to Peter's lips, but realizing what was said, she returned her gaze back to Parker's eyes.
  With her phrase, she struck Peter on the spot.  To be honest, Natasha herself did not expect this from herself, she was thrown into the cold from the realization of her words.  But after that, the fear turned sharply into confidence.  She began to slowly approach Peter with the thought of "now or never."
  “Um ... Miss Romanoff?” Peter asked, clearly not expecting this turn of events.  Of course, he dreamed about it from their first meeting, but now he was simply not ready.
  “Peter,” Natasha is stretched out almost in a whisper, “Did you know that you are insanely beautiful?
  Determined not to waste time, Red hugged Peter's face with her hands, stood on tiptoe and kissed Peter tenderly on the lips.  She kissed without pressure, completely weightless, as if asking permission to continue.
  "Umm ... Miss Romanoff ..." Peter began, but was interrupted by Natasha.
  “No, no, no, now it's just Nat,” Romanoff muttered through half-closed lips.
  "Uh ... yes, but I have to say something ..." Again, Peter does not have time to finish
  “Not now ...” Natasha continued to whisper.
  She was wildly hot until she looked into Peter's eyes.  She saw fear there.  Romanoff thought he wanted to stop her, but was afraid.  Sweet excitement melted in my chest.
  “What's the problem?” Romanoff asked, pulling back a little, although she understood that the problem was obvious, but it was worth asking.
  “It's all ... it's all wrong, and I'm not sure ...” Stammering, Peter continued to come up with an excuse, not so much for Natasha as for himself.
  "God, Peter Benjamin Parker! What's wrong with you? You dreamed about this more than anything else! What's your problem?" - one after another, thoughts flashed through the guy's head, forcing him to listen.  Peter wanted to, but he was afraid.  After all, he is an inexperienced teenager who simply has nothing to surprise her with.  And the fear of being rejected and ridiculed became stronger than his desire.  But Natasha interrupted his stormy stream of thoughts.
  —Okay, I won't if you say that you don’t want me — Natasha challenged me — Come on, one phrase and Aunt Nat will no longer bother you — Natasha added, slightly dropping her eyelids, and directing her glassy gaze into Parker's eyes  ...
  Natasha didn't need an answer.  She knew that the Spider would not resist her, and when he still admits defeat, it is only a matter of time.
   Inside Parker, two feelings continued to struggle: fear and desperate desire.  Fear kept saying that you shouldn't do things that you will regret for a very long time.  But the desire, backed up by his dreams of this moment, insisted that trying is not torture and worth a try anyway.  And at the end of this internal dilemma, Peter came to the conclusion: "If she insists on this, then she really wants it, which means she just needs to pull herself together, turn fear into confidence and act."
  “You know I’ll never say that.” Peter replied, lighting up Nate with his bright and slightly nervous smile.
  “I thought so.” Threw Romanoff before attacking Spider again.  She felt his insecurity and wanted to help him relax as soon as possible.
      This time their kiss was longer, more confident, deeper than the last time.  Now their languages were fighting among themselves for primacy, but no one wanted to give up in this fight.  Peter's hands went around Nat's waist and pulled her closer to him, as if Parker was afraid of losing her.  A warm, pleasant feeling blossomed in my chest, because of it both felt themselves "in their place."  For a second, Natasha allowed herself to pull back to get some air in her lungs, but Peter did not want to be ignored, even for such a short time.  His hands went down to Romanoff's buttocks, squeezing them tighter, letting her know that Peter wasn’t the type to wait.  In one sharp movement, Parker pulled her towards him, biting into her red lips.  For a second, Peter was even amazed at his confidence, but decided not to waste time and move on, guided only by his instincts.  Natasha smiled at him, and then continued to lick his palate and from time to time pull back her lower lip, thereby forcing the Spider to move towards her. Natasha's hands helped her in this, grabbing him by the hair and guiding him closer and closer to her.  With a snap, Romanoff unzipped her latex suit, grabbing Peter's arm and placing it on her chest.  The guy was not satisfied with the unzipped zipper and with this thought he pulled off the suit from her marble shoulders, and then completely exposing the whole body from the shoulders to the waist.
  "It seems that the bolder, the better. Because I don't see any other explanation. Besides, she seems to be really happy, which means I'm doing everything right." - Parker's internal debate was not planned to stop.
     They kissed passionately, with taste.  These were magical moments, but Peter wanted to surprise Natasha, to make her really pleasant.
     Captivated by this idea, Parker grabbed Romanoff and sat him on the counter, ridding his entire body of the latex suit.
  “I didn't know what you can do,” Nat stretched out intrigued.
  “I thought today was our discovery day.” Peter said with a grin.
     Peter slowly went down to Natasha's thighs with his hands, picking up the elastic of his silk panties with his fingertips, getting rid of the interfering little thing.  From desire between Natasha's thighs, everything burned, it seemed if Peter hesitated even a second, then she would just start dripping.  Romanoff lowered her back to the table, propping her body up with her elbows so she could see Peter and his face.  Parker gently spread Nat's legs, placing them on two high chairs on either side of him for added convenience.
    Noticing the excess moisture in Natasha's crotch, he first bent down, parted the labia and began to lick every last drop.  Each movement of his tongue, increasingly brushing her clitoris swollen with desire, made Natasha bend in an arc.  She couldn't contain her moans escaping from her every time Peter changed his pace.
      Then Parker abruptly pulled away from Natasha, leaving her dissatisfied, causing this to snort disapprovingly.  Then Peter brought two fingers to Natasha's lips.
  "Close." - Peter ordered imperiously.
  Natasha did not object, she even liked that at least somewhere the role of the dominant was assigned not to her.  She slowly opened her mouth, swallowing two fingers, and beginning to generously wet them with saliva, while she did not take her gaze from under half-closed eyelids from Peter's eyes.  Parker even admired this picture for a few seconds.  Natasha, lying on the table, completely belonging to him, licks his fingers without taking her lustful gaze from him.  This sight awakened animal instincts in him.  But Peter had to stop her.  He wanted to see it through to the end.
  “Enough!” Peter said, removing wet fingers from her mouth.
    And now a new wave of vivid sensations rolled over her with renewed vigor, forcing her to moan more often and louder, while Peter abruptly entered her, picking up the pace.  She prayed not to come in the first ten seconds.  But it was not there, Peter put the thumb of his other hand to the girl's clitoris, starting to press on it, adjusting to the rhythm of the fingers, which caused a new barrage of groans that filled the entire room.
       A couple more movements and Natasha's eyes roll up, her mouth opens, gasping for air, her back arches, and her hands rummage around the table in search of at least some support, but not finding anything they grab onto the edges of the table, almost tearing off the glass cover by the root.  For another couple of seconds Natasha lies motionless, slowly coming to her senses.  She realizes that she has never finished like this before.  The redhead comes down from the table, wraps her arms around Peter's neck and whispers in his ear how much she loves him and how much she needs him.  Then she feels his lips and bites into them with a kiss of gratitude.  Then Natasha looks at her watch in horror and begins to dress convulsively.
  “What is it, are you late somewhere?” Parker asked with undisguised surprise in his voice.
  “Everyone will be back any minute, do you have any idea what will happen if they see us?” Natasha said, zipping up her zipper and putting her hair in order, thereby hiding all traces of their closeness.
       Peter took a rag, wiped the table with it (to be sure)

  When all the Avengers returned to the tower, they held some kind of urgent meeting, at which they discussed the details of the next mission.  But neither Peter nor Natasha was interested in their discussions.  They only continued to give each other their views, but both knew that now everything would be different.

Okay, we don’t know each other, at all, but... one puppet of an eldritch monstrosity to another, I guess. The shit in 031095 probably can’t be entirely 1-to-1 with 777 (especially considering yours are actual gods) so I feel a lot better about your future than mine, however I am pretty sure they’re similar enough for this warning to still be applicable.
Please, please don’t fucking disregard your boundaries when talking to these things. I’m pretty sure you chose to get claimed- which uh, good job? Can’t beat them, join them is a decent enough philosophy. But if they breach the terms of your pact or something, I guarantee there’s a way to get out somehow. Please take it. I might just be a paranoid old man here, but there’s no way this is gonna hurt so uh.. just. Keep this in mind.
- Professor Peter Parker, 031095, sent from @ask-screamspider
... A spider, huh? Never thought I’d catch their attention this quickly.. But I suppose you’re not here to attack me or whatever spiders like to do, so I suppose I’ll bite.
So, I’m aware of safe ways to break a pact because a spider I know often tries to convince me to break it. If that day comes (which I doubt it will), I’ll seek to break it but that’s not in my sights. As I’ve told her before (and probably many times more), I simply cannot achieve what I want as the weak, timid doormat I used to be.
A lot things stood in my way in the past: anxiety, fears of stepping out of line, wanting to be a people pleaser 24/7, never having the courage to stand up for what I believe in... but now, none of that concerns me. And I don’t ever want to be stepped on by others again. The Writhing One opened my mind and awakened my flesh, and allowing me to really push the limits of my form. It feels incredible, just being able to take charge over your mind and body and change it to optimize your potential.
But I know that this idea scares people, so I really can’t blame you (or my spider) for feeling that way.

Flower Child (Peter Parker x ofc)
Chapter 10: Every Batman Needs a Robin... or an Alfred
warnings: mentions of traumatic occurrences, depictions of anxiety, two mad scientists, and very inaccurate science it’s fine
Had Lila not been completely washed over with shock, she may have thought she stared at the mask for far too long. But it wasn’t necessarily her fault, she’d been through the wringer that day: first having to actively compete in the academic decathlon, then almost dying, and finally seeing that Peter Parker, the boy she had more than a small crush on, was Spider-Man. It was a lot for any fifteen-year-old to swallow.
As soon as Lila saw what Peter had pulled out of his backpack, the red mask with white eyes that had saved her life twice now, her mind went on the fritz, and all conscious thought ceased. She barely even heard Peter ask, “Now do you understand?”
A significant span of time must have passed after the initial question, for the look on Peter’s face grew worried. Lila still hadn’t moved, spoken, or blinked after locking eyes with the Spider-Man mask. “Lila?”
Finally, Lila looked back up at Peter. Mouth opening and closing like a fish, she struggled (more than usual) to find the right words. “I…I - and y-you…” She trailed off, suddenly finding the need to sit down. She moved to her desk on wobbly legs and sat in her chair, gaze focusing on the wall behind Peter as she let her first initial thoughts come to her.
Peter Parker is Spider-Man.
Peter Parker fought Captain America.
Peter Parker is a superhero, and you were going to kick him out of your room.
“Lila,” Her attention was back on Peter. A twinge of guilt settled in her stomach at seeing his panicked expression, which was enough to sober her up and begin to rationalize her thoughts. “I need you to say something, p-please.”
“I th-thought you were lousy at keeping secrets,” Lila breathed, eyes darting back to the mask and up to Peter. She ran her fingers through her hair and wiped at her eyes, which still had streaks from her tears. At the look of slight confusion on Peter’s face, Lila breathed out a small laugh.
“What? I can - I can keep secrets-”
“Clearly. E-Exhibit A.” Lila gestured to the Spider-Man mask Peter still held. “I just… you made it so o-obvious with Liz, I r-really never would have guessed-”
“Wait, you know I like Liz?” It was difficult to tell what panicked Peter more, the fact that he revealed his secret identity, or that Lila had known about his crush on Liz. Lila pretended it didn’t hurt for him to admit it.
She stood up, rubbing her hands on her legs. Shrugging, she said, “I d-don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I don’t t-talk a lot? So I just - I just watch people. It’s h-hard to miss the way you l-look at her.” Mostly because I want you to look at me like that. “I just can’t believe I missed th-this.” Holding out a patient hand, Lila looked to Peter.
Reluctantly, Peter handed the mask over to Lila. The texture surprised her, the fluid fabric sifting through her fingers as she adjusted the mask to stare right back at her. Despite her best attempts not to, the crushing weight of the last week hit her again. “S-So, your Stark Internship…”
“Yeah,” Peter agreed. “It’s this.” She didn’t say anything in response, opting to think over what that meant, how much Peter had actually done for her besides picking out a computer for her dad’s shop. It was a vicious cycle of taking things in. Peter seemed to take her silence for something else, for he added, “Lila, please, you can’t - you can’t say anything-”
“So it was you?” Peter grew quiet once again as she looked up to him, eyes shining with unspilled tears. “It was you at - at Delmar’s? Fighting off those bank robbers? It was you today in W-Washington? In the elevator?”
Guilt flashed in Peter’s eyes. “Lila, I swear, I never meant for anyone to get hurt. Delmar’s, it - it was a mistake, and I had no idea the Chitauri core was explosive, I-” Peter was cut off by Lila stepping forward and wrapping her arms tightly around his neck.
She wasn’t much for displaying affection, but being so close to Peter made her feel safe. And now, she knew why. As Peter hesitantly wrapped his arms around her waist, Lila breathed, “Thank you.”
In his hold, Lila felt Peter tense at her words, which confused her. But before she could think too into it, he relaxed, holding her fractionally tighter. There was a slight worry that Peter could feel her heartbeat through her clothes, but her ultimate decision was that she shouldn’t care. She was hugging Peter Parker, the boy who saved her life and despite everything, told her the truth.
“Um,” Peter said, suddenly stepping back from her awkwardly, hand running through his hair. Nerves coursing through her body once again, Lila wondered what she could have done. “Thanks, I guess.”
Disbelieving laughter burst through her lips unwillingly. “You’re - You saved my life, and y-you’re thanking me?”
Peter mirrored her smile, which was a relief, “Yeah.” His hand rest at the back of his neck and Lila wished he would stop being so distracting. “It’s kind of a thankless job, so… to hear it is really nice.”
“You should hear it more often,” Lila said, completely meaning it. Peter sent her a grateful smile. Both of them were still standing, not entirely sure where to go from there. What could happen with the two of them? Would they just go their separate ways from there, Lila carrying Peter’s biggest secret and pretending that nothing had changed?
It occurred to Lila that this might be her chance to change that. She didn’t want to go back to normal. Peter telling her the truth was a leap of faith, and Lila was determined to make it worth it. “Um - is it okay if I ask you something?”
“I mean, it can’t be any worse than Ned. He had so many questions,” Peter admitted, sitting down on her bed once again.
Lila tilted her head to the side, “Wait, Ned knows?” She thought about it for a second, then nodded. “Oh - of course. He - he had the Chitauri core with him today.”
“Yeah,” Peter said, “It was a total accident. He kind of saw me crawling on the ceiling of my bedroom-”
“Wait, on the ceiling?” Lila asked. A childish kind of excitement filled her, and the realization that she was talking to a superhero settled in her mindset. She briefly thought of Sophie, and her list of questions she had for every superhero she hoped to meet one day. Now that she was right in front of one, what were Lila’s? “What else can you do?”
“Um - I can crawl on walls, which is how I got up the monument today,” Lila nodded, sitting down next to Peter, eyes and full attention on him. “I can lift things, really heavy things-”
“Like elevators?”
Peter let out a quiet chuckle. “Yeah, like elevators. There’s also this uh - thing. I call it like a sense of sorts where I can feel things before they happen. Like, if someone tried to throw a punch at me, I would feel it coming before it actually happened.”
That explains why he always seemed to know that I was coming up to talk to him, Lila thought. It seemed so clear now that he was explaining it. Peter wasn’t in need of his glasses anymore, he didn’t struggle as much in gym class, and Lila had thought he’d filled out his sweaters and flannels a little more this year…
“Okay, so - so how did th-this happen?” Lila asked. “You didn’t like, create a t-teleportation device and a house spider slipped in, r-right?”
Peter actually laughed. Her question apparently took him off guard, and he shook his head. His eyes were shining, and he smiled at her. Lila ignored her stomach doing somersaults as he answered her. “No, no. It’s not like that. Actually, do you remember the school trip we took to Oscorp? It was during our mutation unit in biology?”
Lila nodded her head, “It was their cellular ex-experimentation lab, and they had a r-really cool plant display.” She thought back to that day in early January, remembering how she could see New York’s skyline so clearly out of the windows. “Y-You got so sick at the end of it.”
“You remember that?” Peter looked at her curiously.
Nothing out of the ordinary, just pining from afar. Ignoring the blush that rose to her cheeks, Lila hastily pointed a finger at herself. “Wallflower, remember?”
“Um - y-yeah.” Peter shook his head, the memory coming back to him once more. “That was why I was so sick: p-part of their experiments were radioactive testing, and a group of spiders had been exposed. One got out somehow and bit me right here,” He faced the opposite direction from her and ran his fingers along the top of his neck, brushing some of his hair aside.
Lila leaned forward to get a better look at what he was pointing to and placed her fingers over his. Lifting up several loose curls from his neck, she noticed a tiny scar that resembled a bug bite. Rescinding her touch, Lila shivered at the thought of a spider crawling on the back of her neck. She didn’t even see Peter’s shiver in response to the feeling of her fingers on his skin.
“Okay, um - is there anything else you can do? Mentally communicate with spiders, eat b-bugs, inject venom into y-your enemies…?”
“None of the above,” Peter said, still a slight smile on his face as he turned back to face Lila. She could have sworn she thought she heard him mutter thank goodness under his breath.
“So - So now I know, and Ned knows. Does a-anybody else know?”
Peter shrugged, “No. Just you, Ned, and Mr. Stark, but only because he built the suit-”
“Wait, wait, so May doesn’t know?” Lila asked, eyes wide. The idea that he was under no adult supervision (she opted not to count the incredibly busy billionaire) made her nervous. Was he really doing this by himself? “A-At all?”
“If she knew, she would freak out, okay? Like, lose her ever-loving mind.” Peter suddenly stood up, and his nervous posture appeared once again. “Just with everything that happened-” With Ben Parker, he didn’t need to finish, “- no. She cannot know. Lila, nobody can know, okay?”
It was more than a plea, it was more than desperate, and Lila understood. This was life or death, it went past high school, went past homecoming, went past herself. Nodding, she locked eyes with Peter. “I promise. I won’t - I won’t tell anybody.”
There was a tense moment where Peter regarded her doubtfully. Not that she could really blame him, this was a massive secret that needed to be kept, and how was Peter to know she was trustworthy. But she was Lila, and she would do anything for Peter. He must have sensed she would, for he nodded slowly. There wasn’t really much else for Lila to do except hand Peter back the mask she still gripped tightly. Taking it from her with a small thanks, Peter put it back in his backpack.
She didn’t want to seem like a snoop, but Lila couldn’t help herself. She’d gotten a glimpse of the rest of Peter’s backpack as he put the mask away, and saw something she couldn’t ignore. “What’s that?” She asked, pointing to the dark metal bands sitting on top of his suit.
“What, these?” Peter pulled them out, and Lila nodded, standing up and stepping closer to inspect them. Peter handed her one, which she took delicately and inspected. It was lighter than it looked, but knowing that Tony Stark might have had something to do with them, they were probably more high tech than her cellphone. Finding a little button on the top of the band, Lila clicked it, revealing a compartment holding a vial of a white, iridescent substance. Holding it up to the light, Lila looked at it in awe.
“Tony Stark made this?” She asked, eyeing the vial still as it became almost transparent in her bedroom light.
Peter nodded. “Well, he made the web-shooters, but the web fluid, is - is mine.”
Lila found her gaze torn away from the web fluid and back on Peter. “You made this yourself?” It was difficult to keep any awe out of her voice.
“In chemistry,” Peter shrugged like it was no big deal. But the tinge on his cheeks said otherwise. “Just a formula I’ve been working on.”
Deciding it would take too much time to go into specifics like how it went from a fluid to webbing material, or how to get out of it, or even how Peter managed not to tangle himself up in it, Lila asked, “Can I see?” At his confused gaze, Lila clarified, “The f-formula. Can I see it?”
“Oh,” Peter nodded, suddenly reaching into his front pocket. Producing his cellphone, he started flicking through and producing a picture. Handing his phone over to Lila, he stopped at her questioning gaze. “What?”
“You keep content in regards to your s-secret identity on your phone?” Lila asked, taking the cellphone from him. She ignored his stuttering protests and stared at the picture of the formula he’d written on graph paper. Running the calculations through her head, she nodded silently as she studied it. When she’d finished, she hummed, handing the phone back.
“What?” Peter asked again.
“What do you mean, wh-what?” Lila asked.
He narrowed his eyes in suspicion. “You hummed. It’s not wrong, I’ve made it before, it works fine.”
“I believe you,” Lila said lightly, not wanting to cross any lines.
“Well you hummed, you were skeptical-”
“I wasn’t skeptical-”
“If there’s something you think is wrong-”
“It’s a perfectly functional formula, Peter-”
“Lila just tell me.”
“Fine,” Lila said. “It’s fine, the f-formula is fine it’s just - you’re being too conservative with the use of Toluene.” Peter cocked his head in confusion. “If you up the m-methanol by an eighth and Toluene by half, you’ve got the same lightweight structure, just m-more durable.”
Still, with a suspicious look on his face, Peter looked from Lila back to his phone, reading the formula over again. He did the same mental calculation she did, eyes widening in surprise. “You did that all in your head?”
“I’m not as good as y-you are in chemistry,” Lila huffed indignantly, “But I know enough. And - And there were similar formulas to it in the decathlon today, it was still kind of fresh. Do you want to go try it out?”
“What the formula?” Peter asked and Lila nodded. He sighed, “All my stuff’s at school-”
“Well, we can just try it out with some basics at the greenhouse,” Lila stated calmly. The actual idea gave her a huge thrill, to help Peter in some way after all he’d done for her. “Just some experimentation with it, if you want?”
Apparently her offer was too good to pass up. Peter nodded enthusiastically, and Lila took that as her cue to get ready. Shoving her shoes onto her feet, Lila hastily made her way into her bathroom, rummaging through the cabinets for her toner. Checking the ingredients on the back, she hummed in satisfaction, seeing the salicylic acid as one of the ingredients. Lila gripped it tightly and headed back to her bedroom, where Peter watched her as she threw it into her backpack before zipping it up. Guiding him out of her room with a quick wave, the two made their way down the stairs into the kitchen, where Lila made a beeline for the cabinets under the sink. She found the appropriate glass cleaning solution and placed that in her backpack as well.
“Okay, are you ready to go?” Lila asked, taking her house keys out of the bowl perched on a countertop. Peter nodded, and the pair headed for the front door. But they didn’t even cross the living room by the time the front door opened, and Ted Landry walked across the threshold. He clutched a paper bag tightly in his hands, and he started when he saw Peter and Lila looking back at him.
“Oh, Tulip, what’s-” He eyed her backpack and keys in hand, “- Are you going somewhere?”
Lila shifted awkwardly. “Yeah, Peter was - he was going to w-walk me to mom’s greenhouse. If that’s - if that’s okay.”
“Uh… sure.” It came out as more of a question. “Just make sure to close back up-”
“Is that tomato basil?” Lila asked, stomach lurching with hunger. She could practically smell the soup from where she stood.
Her father held up the bag and looked at it as though he forgot he was holding it at all. “Yeah, from Hale and Hearty, just like you asked...” His tone was still confused, and he trailed off as Lila took the bag gratefully from him.
She kissed him on the cheek and guided Peter out the door. “Thank you. Love you!” She shut the front door with the image of Ted standing in the foyer, looking lost in his own home.
                                  *****
“Okay,” Lila said as she threw her backpack onto one of the tables in the break room on the second floor. Taking out the glass cleaner and toner, she set them down next to her backpack and moved on to take the soup out of the paper bag. Fortunately, her dad had gotten her a larger container, and she popped it in the microwave that was exclusively saved for Sophie when she was working long shifts.
“S-So, I have a microscope up in the greenhouse,” She gestured up the stairs to the door of her greenhouse, “And I definitely have some Toluene glue up there from rebuilding some of those garden beds-”
“Why are you helping me?” Peter asked out of the blue. Their walk had been silent for the most part, both just in their heads about this strange situation. Lila was taken off guard from his question, pausing her movements and interrupting her train of thought. Staring at him curiously, she waited until Peter elaborated. “I mean - we just - we’ve only started talking for like a week, and you already know my biggest secret - I… I don’t get it. You could l-live your whole life just moving on from this whole thing, why are you getting tangled up in this?”
Because I’ve had the biggest crush on you since eighth grade?
Lila tucked her hair behind her ear and felt nerves dance in her stomach. “Um - I just - you s-single-handedly saved my life twice, and I-”
“But I’m not expecting a thank-you, Lila. I wasn’t going to let you die, I just-”
“No, no, I get that, it’s…” She sighed heavily. “You don’t have a multi-billion dollar company behind you or experience in a world war, or e-even seven Ph.D.’s behind you. You’re just you - s-saving New York by yourself.”
“It’s really just Queens,” Peter mumbled, and Lila smiled in adoration.
She shook her head, “You c-can try downplaying your i-incredible selflessness, b-but it doesn’t change the fact that you’ve been doing this alone. I just don’t - I don’t want you to have to do this alone anymore. E-Even if I don’t have seven Ph.D.’s… yet.” She offered a small smile, and Peter returned it. The unspoken agreement that Lila was on board with helping Peter with Spider-Man hung between them, and the pair bonded despite the unconventional circumstances. “Plus, every Batman needs a Robin… o-or maybe an Alfred. I’d make a pretty good Alfred, I think.”
Suddenly the microwave sounded. Lila smiled wider, stomach still screaming at her. “So, tomato basil?”

can we always be this close? | 02. everything has changed
takes place during far from home and because i love taylor's new album. i present a six chapter one shot featuring taylor songs that represent petermj during the film. (slightly altered for missing scenes i added)
read on ao3 | word count: 1.6k
Come back and tell me why I’m feeling like I've missed you all this time. Meet me there tonight and let me know that it's not all in my mind
  “I am Spiderman, and I messed up,” Peter’s voice was frantic and he spoke so fast Michelle almost didn’t hear him.
“Wait,” she stopped him. “Are--are you being serious right now? I was only like…67% sure.” She felt her heart pounding against her chest. This was not how she imagined Peter finally coming clean with his secret, nor how she imagined this night would end up.
“I need to get back to the hotel,” Peter lunged forward to grab the metal part lying on the ground—a part that came from one of the drones, the drones Peter had no idea existed.
“Wait!” MJ crouched down to meet him at eye level. Her hair had fallen out onto her face, but she didn’t seem to notice. The two teenagers were on their knees on either side of the drone. “I’ll help you.” She nodded as though she was reassuring herself instead of Peter.
“What? MJ no way! We have no idea what this guy is capable of and there is no way I’m letting you get hurt because of my mistakes.” There came the guilt, Peter’s number one specialty. “It hasn’t even been a year and I…” he trailed off. MJ watched helplessly as Peter wiped tears away with his sleeve. “I already let him down.” She didn’t have to ask to know he was talking about Tony. There were so many times she wanted to help—to comfort him in any way she could.
She’ll never forget the first day of school after the blip, everyone seeing their friends who had survived the past five years now off in college, or the relief when they found out they had been gone too. She remembers seeing Peter and Ned embrace from the stairwell she was sitting in, reading the same book she had been reading the day she…died. Five years to read a book? Unacceptable. Regardless, Peter looked so incredibly broken. He was pale, his clothes were baggy on him; evidence that he hadn’t been eating well, and he left the classroom whenever the mention of Tony Stark was mentioned. The school did an activity to honor the fallen Avengers for every month after the blip, and Peter never came to school on those days.
Michelle opened her backpack again, shoving the drone inside. Zipping it shut, she stood to her feet putting the bag on her shoulder and grabbing Peter’s hand with the other. He swayed on his feet and MJ was worried he was going to pass out. She grabbed his shoulders to steady him.
“Peter, you got to stay with me okay?” She whispered to him. “It’s not your fault,” she held on tighter when Peter attempted to push her away. Damn his strength, she thought. He stumbled backwards from her, as though she was some sort of bomb.
“I gave him EDITH!” He cried, yanking on his hair. “Tony left me one thing, ONE thing and I couldn’t—I didn’t…” He was rambling to himself at this point, talking so fast and so quietly it was impossible to understand.
“Peter, MJ grabbed his hands from his hair, holding them in her own. “Your powers…. your senses…what’s happening?” He ignored her, continuing to mumble about Mysterio, Fury, and Tony. He kept saying Tony. “Peter, you have to talk to me,” she felt herself practically begging, almost wanting to cry herself at the sight before her. “Please, we can’t stay here, it isn’t safe. Do you want to protect me?” Peter looked up at those words. She continued, “you want to protect me right? Let me help you, please. Let’s go inside.” He stared at her, nodding.
“The bite,” he swallowed. “Everything gets—” he gestured with his hands, still intertwined with MJ’s, wildly, “overloaded.”
“I’m not letting go of you,” MJ told him fiercely. Peter raised his eyebrows, but MJ continued. “I’m not. One thing at a time, okay? Can you come inside with me?” She wasn’t expecting Peter to drop his head on her shoulder, but he did.
“I’m so sorry,” he mumbled.
“It’s okay,” she felt as though she was holding onto him like a lifeline. “We’re okay.” After stopping at Peter’s room to grab his backpack with his suit, Michelle dragged him back into the hallway. Ignoring Peter’s confusion, she hastily shoved the keycard to her room into the door, nearly shoving it open with her shoulder when it unlocked. “Thank God, Betty isn’t back yet.” She breathed a sigh of relief. She wasn’t sure exactly how many people knew Peter’s secret, and she was definitely sure he was not up for explaining his powers tonight.
“Why aren’t we in my room?” Peter looked around confused.
“Obviously Beck is a fraud; I wouldn’t be surprised if he has hidden cameras or microphones in your room. He has no idea about me, he wouldn’t think to go as far as bugging mine,” she replied as she checked around the room, just to be sure of course.
“Right,” Peter said. He dumped the contents of his backpack on one of the beds in the room, his suit falling right out.
“I cannot believe you keep it in your backpack. That’s so obvious,” Michelle shook her head.
“MJ, can you not roast me right now?” Peter chuckled. “I have to find Fury, tell him what happened—” he tugged his shirt over his head, throwing it on the bed. It was only then both of them realized what had just happened.
“Uh…I’ll just,” MJ quickly whirled around, eyes wide. She knew Peter had muscles, the suit was skin tight and didn’t hide anything...she just didn’t know he had that kind of muscle. Damn hormones, she thought to herself, shaking the thoughts of getting to make out with a shirtless Peter Parker out of her head. The world was at risk…again, and MJ wanted to have a cheesy make-out session with Peter because of his abs? Ridiculous. Yet she didn’t ignore the tiny thought in the back of her mind, that once Peter saves the world, a little make-out session wouldn’t hurt…assuming he actually did like her back.
Her thought process was ruined when there was a thud in the doorway. She and Peter both turned their heads to see Ned standing in the doorway of the room, his bag at the floor. Mentally cursing herself for not checking to make sure the door actually closed, MJ sighed in frustration.
“Cool costume Peter!” Ned awkwardly said.
“She knows, I told her!” Peter exclaimed.
“He didn’t tell me,” MJ rolled her eyes. “I figured it out. Wait, where’s Betty?”
“She’s down the hall with some other kids who just got back…what the hell is going on and what is that suit?” Ned was finally putting the pieces of the situation together.
“Mysterio is a fraud!” Peter yelled out just as Michelle said, “No one else can know about this!” Ned shut the door, actually locking it this time before sitting on the bed opposite Peter and MJ. “You were saying?”
Peter was pacing around the room as MJ did her best to catch Ned up on the situation, Peter doing his best to fill in the gaps as needed. They showed Ned the drone, the three of them wondering how on earth they would even find Mysterio to begin with.
“I can’t believe I dragged you into this,” Peter said hastily, stuffing his regular clothes into his bag, along with a phone charger. “I don’t know what I’ll tell Mr. Harrington if I’m not back by morning.”
“I’ll handle Harrington, don’t worry.” MJ placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. Peter visibly relaxed as soon as he felt her touch. “You just need to get to Fury,” she whispered. He nodded, biting his lip. She could tell his thoughts were racing again, so she squeezed his shoulder. “Hey,” she murmured. “It’s not your fault.”
Peter mumbled under his breath, pulling the mask over his head. “Just don’t go outside, okay?” “Peter it’s two in the morning, why would I do that?” Michelle joked. “Just don’t be gone too long spider-boy, not sure how long Ned and I can hold Harrington off.”
Michelle didn’t expect Peter to come back in through her window that night, although she had gotten her hopes up. She and Ned stayed in the room creating a plan to distract the other kids and Mr. Harrington so long that the sun was coming up by the time Ned left and Betty came back into the room.
Their flight in London wasn’t until the afternoon and since no one wanted to go outside with all the “magic” on the loose, Michelle got to stay in bed. Betty closed the window and shut the curtains, not realizing Michelle had left it open for a reason. Even so in the dark, sunlight hidden behind the blackout curtains, Michelle couldn’t stop staring at the window. She pulled the covers up to her chin before reaching over to her nightstand. She opened her Spotify and was shocked to find it was still on the same playlist Peter and her were listening to on the flight. Too tired to change it, she hit shuffle and rolled over once her headphones were in her ears.
It was about ten minutes later when the song came on, another Taylor song. Michelle shoved her face into the pillow, cringing at the fact she could actually relate to the cheesy romantic songs she spent her whole life making fun of. She turned her head towards the window again, closing her eyes as Everything Has Changed played quietly through her headphones.

─── • ° *。✧ ───
i sigh in satisfaction, a smile linering on my lips as i look around the buzzing carnival. the colorful lights, the laughter and calming yet loud noise of the people around us, the exhilarating feeling you get when you see the rides filled with people, the smell of hotdogs, cotton candy, and popcorn making my mouth water.
“isn’t this wonderful, pete?” peter nods and smiles, wrapping his arm around my shoulder. “sure is, (y/n).”
although we were at europe and we can literally go to fancy restaurants and places, we decided to just go to the carnival because it’s simple and enjoyable. plus, what do you expect out of two broke high school students?
we continue walking around the carnival, going on rides, playing some games (totally recking peter in some of them), and eating the mouth watering food.
i take a bite of the pink fluffy cotton candy peter bought for me and my taste buds are immediately filled with the sweet taste, the cotton candy melting in my mouth.
i look over at peter, who was going to take a bite of his hotdog until i bite the end of his food. he retracts and frowns at me as i chuckle, mouth full of food.
“hey, no fair! you have your own food!” he complains, pouting.
“what? i’m hungry, pete!” peter sighs and shakes his head, a small smile playing on his lips.
“then let’s get some food in you then—“
i gasp out loud, pointing ahead of me. “peter, let’s go on the ferris wheel!”
right before peter could answer me, his watch beeps, turning his attention to his watch and looking up with a worried and reluctant expression. his face goes pale and sweat begins to roll down from his temple to the side of his face.
“pete? what’s wrong, babe?” i ask, playing with the front of his hair in comfort. he takes my hands and kisses my knuckles before quietly saying, “everything’s fine. don’t worry about me.” i raise an eyebrow at him, but he ignores it and chuckles, kissing the top of my head.
“hey, why don’t you save us a spot in the line of the ferris wheel? i need to go to the bathroom really quick.” i nod my head and give him a small peck before i approach the line of the ferris wheel and peter, to the toilets.
surprisingly, the line wasn’t really long and i only had to wait for about several minutes before i was two people away from the front. peter still hasn’t come back from the toilet and i was starting to get worried.
come down, (y/n). maybe he just couldn’t find you and will join you when it’s your turn.
“next!” the two people in front of me go inside one booth, making me the first in line. the man securing the front motions and grumbles for me to get in the vacant booth.
“i’m sorry, but i’m waiting for someone.”
“then too bad on them, kid. there’s other people waiting for their turn!” i sigh and hesitantly enter the booth alone.
i tuck my chin on top of my palm as the booth goes higher and higher until it reaches the very top. there was nothing but silence and my mind asking, ‘where is peter?’
——-
i pull my jacket close to me as i walk through the empty and quiet streets and the cold dark night. i rub my hands together to try to get some heat, but alas none. i, instead, cross my arms across my chest and tuck my hands in my jacket.
peter ditched me.
i cannot believe that my boyfriend of a year and a half ditched me in the middle of our date . . . in europe!
he better have a good excuse for this.
as i continue walking, i begin to hear faint footsteps behind me. i turn around and see a hooded figure walking behind me. i didn’t think much of it, but red flags start to raise in my mind and i make sure to be alert in case this man tries to do anything.
i turn my attention back towards my front and my blood runs cold when there are two more hooded figures. they were walking towards my direction and when i tried to move away from the path, they followed my steps.
i look around to see if there were other people or if there were any cars around, but none. i start to panic, praying to God that they don’t murder me and sell my organs online.
i’m so dead.
i continue to walk as if nothing’s happening and that everything is okay. i take a deep breath before i dash to the alleyway on my right, leaving the hooded men on the sidewalk.
i run as fast as my body could take me, feeling my lungs burn inside my chest. i hear heavy footsteps running after me and i try to run farther away from them, but at the end of the alley, i am met with a dead end.
i curse to myself and try to find another way, any way, but none. i turn around and see the men slowing to a jog. they slowly approach me, deep chuckles escaping their throats at the sight of helpless and defenseless me.
“you taught you could run away from us, little girl?” one says, looking down at me with an evil smirk. “please don’t hurt me! i’ll give you anything you want!” i plead, tears threatening to fall. “money? my phone? my jewelry? anything!”
the men chuckle and say, “that won’t be necessary,” before taking a step towards me, ready to attack.
this is it. this is the end.
right before one of the men can lay their finger on me, a loud thup! echoes throughout the alleyway and right before the men could turn around to see what it was, something sticks on the hand of the man and it looks like . . . spider web?
the man is suddenly pulled backward and on to the wall, alerting his two companions. as they were distracted, i manage to slip pass them and hide behind some empty trash cans.
i do not dare look up from my spot, in fear that i might be seen by the men, but i could hear the sounds of groans, punching, kicking, and bodies being thrown.
after some time, the air goes quiet, making my breath hitch in my throat. i debate whether or not to look up from my hiding spot until i hear a soft voice say, “miss, are you okay?”
i look up and i see . . . spiderman?
i suddenly feel light headed and dizzy, my vision starts to blur and spin until i feel myself drop to the ground and i hear a “holy shit!” from the masked hero.
——-
when i finally regained consciousness, i quietly groan at the aching feeling of my head as i sit up, rubbing my eyes. i look around and notice that i was back in my hotel room and that i wasn’t the only one in the room.
the hunched figure wearing black, red, and black sits on a chair at the end of my bed with his back facing me. i notice that he has his mask off since i can see the lightly tanned skin and fluffy brown hair of the hero.
“oh god, what do i tell her?” he asks himself. “first, i ditched her at our date and now, i saved her from a bunch of guys at an alleyway.” he groans. “what do i tell her in the morning?”
wait a minute.
‘ditched her at our date’?
“peter?” i ask in disbelief, making him turn around and indeed it is my boyfriend wearing spiderman’s suit. peter looks at me with wide eyes and he opens his mouth to say something, but nothing comes out.
“you’re spiderman?”
“(y/n), i-i can explain.”
i hold my hand up and peter stops talking, looking down at the ground in disappointment.
“is spiderman the reason why you had to ditch me on our date earlier?” peter slowly nods his head, not meeting my eyes like a child being scolded by their mother.
i sigh and quietly say, “come here,” making peter look up. when he notices my open arms, he immediately rushes to me and hugs me tightly.
“i’m so sorry, (y/n). i should’ve told you earlier,” he says against my neck. he continues to apologize and i shush him.
“shush, let’s just cuddle, okay?”
a small smile appears on peter’s face and he climbs into bed. he begins to tell me all about his crime fighting adventures and his life as a vigilante.
my eyes begin to droop and right before i fell asleep, i feel a soft kiss on my forehead and a quiet ‘i love you’ from peter.

Da Vinci and the Genius
Pairing: peter parker x art student!reader
Summary: an event Peter normally dreads doesn’t seem so awful after he meets you
Word Count: 1.68k
Warnings: nope
A/N: this is one of my first oneshots so bear with me :)
~~~
Peter Parker is a genius. Everyone knows it, even he knows it. He can solve an equation in half a second and build a computer from scratch, just referencing his mind. But Peter Parker cannot paint in any way. Even the word ‘paint’ makes him cringe. He wishes he was even a little bit artistic but any art he creates looks as if it were drawn by a monkey using its foot.
You are the complete opposite. You could make anything into art. A used tissue? You could put it on a canvas and suddenly it’s art. Although, being incredibly creative does come with the downside of lacking in things like physics and computer science. Science has never been your strong suit though you so badly wish it was.
Though one thing that you had in common was the mutual hate for ISE, inter-school engagement. A program that was meant to mix students from several advanced schools of different genres. Having a school filled with mini Einsteins could only go so far when many of them lacked communication skills, and the same goes for a school filled with mini Van Goghs who couldn’t lift their pencils from their sketchbooks.
Luckily, this specific mandatory meeting took place at Midtown, and Peter found himself a nice quiet science lab to hide out in. As Ned called in “sick” today, he sits alone at a table, his chemistry textbook opened in front of him. Anytime he was forced to go to a ISE meeting, he found himself sitting alone or with Ned for as long as possible. Peter is not a grump, in fact, some would say that he can be annoyingly happy, but anyone who could see him now would assume the exact opposite. After school time's meant to be reserved for spider-manning around, so the idea of being pent up in a school with strangers sounded dreadful. That is until he saw you.
Confusion overcomes his face when you walked into the classroom with a group of others, your eyes are focused on the art in front of you. One arm holds the sketchbook while the other sketches at an angle, your eyebrows are scrunched together. He watches as your attention is so focused on the sketch that you run into a chair, making a loud screeching noise that lifts not only your head but quiets the conversation of the group you’d walked in with. Your eyes widen as you look around the room, embarrassment present on your face.
Peter watches as you close your sketchbook quickly, growing closer until you place all of your things on the table closest and sitting down with a huff.  You hadn’t noticed that the table you’d sat at in a hurry was occupied, the occupant gawking at you from behind his chemistry textbook. Peter feels his ears get hot when you catch him staring, though when you send him a coy smile he smiles down at his lap.
“I’m y/n, from Manhattan Arts,” you reach out your hand for him to shake and he does so softly, trying his hardest to memorize the feel of your hand against his.
“I’m Peter Parker, Midtown Tech.”
“Oh, so you’re one of the baby geniuses that got into a smart kid school?” You ask with a smug smile, waiting for his reaction.
“I could have said that you’re a pretentious art student who eats paint for breakfast, but I didn’t,” Peter replies, closing his textbook softly, giving his full attention to you. You roll your eyes playfully, shaking your head with a laugh, and Peter watches intently; He focuses on the creases around your eyes and curve of your lips.
“Although I don’t consider myself pretentious I won’t deny having tried paint one time or another,” you joke, though when Peter’s eyes widen you feel the need to clarify, “I’m joking, genius. I guess they weren’t kidding when they said Midtown kids aren’t funny.”
“Excuse me, Da Vinci? I’m hilarious,” Peter defends, mocking an offended expression.
“Right and I’m a scientist, you can say it as many times as you want, Pete, but that doesn’t mean it will come true,” you retort with a laugh. Though Peter doesn’t even recognize what you said, he’s too focused on the fact that you called him Pete. You’ve only just met and he’s already hung on your words.
“What,” you start, “no witty comeback?”
“Sorry, I just got distracted,” he tries to come up with an adequate excuse, though he draws a blank. You sigh, unwrapping your arms from the sketchbook they’re holding and placing it on the table in front of you. Peter watches in wonder as you flip through your sketchbook to find an empty page. His eyes try desperately to drink in any art he can find, completely awestruck by your talent.
“I draw lots of flowers,” you end the silence that was starting to grow, landing on a page filled with water colored sunflowers. Peter doesn’t think he’s ever seen so many different shades of yellow, but he’s glad he has now.
“That’s incredible, you’re amazing! Are sunflowers your favorite flowers?” Peter asks with a grin, believing he’s never seen such beautiful art, other than you of course.
“Thanks, Pete. I’d love to compliment your… science skills, but I haven’t seen them in action,” you joke and he laughs along, “sunflowers have always been my favorites, they represent everything I want to be, positive, strong, friendly… you get it.”
“I do,” he answers, shrugging his shoulders before reaching into his bag. He pulls out an apple and a bag of goldfish, plopping them on the table before looking up to you again. He opens the bag of goldfish softly, asking “want some?”
You nod your head slightly, taking a handful as Peter takes a mouthful of apple, trying to remain quiet as he chews. He succeeds at going unnoticed for a few minutes, or rather you succeed at ignoring him for a few minutes before you look up at him with raised eyebrows. He stops mid-chew, “what?”
“Nothing you just…” you pause, trying your hardest to find a way to tell him to shut up without telling him to shut up, “how’s that apple, Pete.”
“Well,” he takes another bite, letting the chunk move around in his mouth, “its obviously fresh though the taste is a little more bitter than normal. I think I may have bit into the sticker on accident, but did you know that the whole ‘fruit stickers are edible’ thing is a myth? Like sure you could eat them, but then you’d be digesting things like turpentine and petroleum-”
“Oh my god, Peter I wasn’t actually asking how the apple was! It was more like a ‘hey did you realize how loud you’re chewing?’ and now I have dumb facts about stickers! Stickers!” you exclaim, taking a deep breath and closing your eyes before gauging Peter’s reaction to your little outburst. Rather than crying as you would of, had he bashed your knowledge of Williamsburg Handmade Oil Paints, he laughs. He laughs so hard in fact, that he has to spit out the apple chunk he’d stuck in his mouth.
“Has anyone ever told you how cute you are when you’re annoyed?”
You pause, eyes wide as you hear something you’d never expect from a midtown kid. Obviously everyone has preconceived notions about the special schools. For instance, Midtown School of Science and Technology is filled with shy nerds who will end up like Bruce Banner, and Manhattan School of the Arts is filled with snobby creative kids who brush their teeth with paintbrushes, Bronx School of Physical Activities is just a school for dumb kids who are athletically gifted, so on and so forth. The line ‘has anyone ever told you how cute you are when you’re annoyed’ is something a kid from Midtown Tech would only dream of executing.
“Quite bold of you, baby genius. I’m surprised you had it in you.”
“I’m full of surprises.”
“Right,” you chuckle, watching Peter’s cocky presence slowly fade as the redness rushes to his cheeks. You allow a smile to consume your face, knowing you’ve shut him up. He stays quiet for a few minutes until he starts tapping his pencil on his text book. Truth be told, he was just taking advantage of the anxious tick to get your attention again. Something about your demeanor was exciting and he wanted to know so much more about you.
“Peter, you may not speak too much, but you sure are a loud person,” you taunt and he grins widely, knowing he got you.
“What can I say, I’m cursed with the ability to attract those who are easily annoyed,” he chastises, though you stay stoic.
“I’m not attracted to you.”
“Right,” he leans forward slightly, just enough to hide his phone displaying the google search for famous artists, “and I’m Michelangelo in disguise.”
“For a science nerd you know your art history,” you attempt to change the subject, though Peter’s not having it.
“I learn things for those who adore me,” he leans back again, folding his arms behind his head. You watch with curious eyes as he stares at you.
“You’re really, really annoying,” you roll your eyes, struggling to fight back a smile. He shrugs, watching intently as you reopen your sketchbook and begin a sketch. He tries to pry his eyes away but the way your eyebrows furrow and lips puff out with your focus is driving him insane.
“Do you want to get out of here?” He says quickly, afraid you’ll reject him. He can’t tell if you actually find him annoying or not, but judging by the smile that creeps onto your face you must be putting on a front. You keep your head down as a grin breaks out on your face, hiding your excitement out of embarrassment.
“Where to?” You respond, and his face mirrors yours.
“Delmar’s?” He suggests, hopeful you don’t live too far away.
“That sounds great, as long as you walk me home, baby genius.”
“That would be a dream, Da Vinci.”
Who are you and what have you done with my boyfriend?
Set when Peter had the Symbiote but Harry and Peter are dating and he kept it a bit longer
When Harry walked into the café looking for Peter and knew something was wrong immediately from the, “Yo, over here what’s uppp?” Peter laid back in his chair with his feet cocked out in the air, waving at Harry and was he wearing sunglasses? Inside a building?
“Pete?” Harry went to take a seat with his boyfriend despite his odd behaviour.
“So, Toomes is a professor at Oz academy now,” just like Peter to jump straight to the topic before Harry could order a drink especially when it's about science (not that Harry doesn’t love that about him), “what’s up with that?”
“Hey, we’re lucky to have him,” Harry lifted up his arms and curled his hands into little fists before exploding them open into a mind-blown gesture, “The guys a genius.” And just to show off the new tech to Peter – only to tease and with no hopes that it could help convince Peter to transfer to Oz Academy. “Plus now Oz has his vulture tech. I was trying out that sonic scream earlier, pretty sweet.”
Peter fixed his glasses and continued unfazed at the mention of new tech, “Yeah pretty sweet for a criminal.” He brushed his bangs to the side. Well, that was not the reaction Harry expected. “And I’m not buying the whole fresh start bit. People don’t just change overnight H.O.” H.O? That’s a new one. Peter took a huge bite out of his chocolate cupcake while Harry observed his from across the table.
“You seem to have,” Harry said with a hard edge in his voice.
“What?” Peter immediately threw his arms up and mentally Harry could imagine him taking two steps back, “Just a little confidence babe.” Hold up… babe?! Peter Parker called him babe without even the slightest blush. Peter drank his cup of what Harry would guess was their usual spinach smoothie and licked his lips, “If I was like this a Midtown I would have been way more popular.”
“Didn’t realize that was important to you.” He guesses it wouldn’t do harm for Peter to have a confidence boost.
Peter downed the rest of his smoothie and stood up, “Gotta bolt working on that Expo- or that thing that cannot be discussed.” He bent down so his face was levelled with Harry’s and tapped his cheek. It was nothing but asking Harry for their usual cheek-kiss send-off. Harry cupped the other side of Peter’s face and reached up to press his lips to Peter’s cheek. He didn’t expect Peter to turn his head so quickly so the lips could meet for a kiss. Harry’s eyes almost pop out at the shock. Peter backed up with a smirk over the face and threw his cup over his head for it to land in the garbage. “Text me later babe.”
Harry furrowed his eyebrows and watched Peter leave in the direction of his school. That was weird. Definitely weird but maybe not a bad weird with the feeling of Peter’s kiss still tingling on his lips.
This wasn’t bad at all. Being pulled into a back alley and thrown against the wall didn’t sound as sexy to Harry as it felt. Even with Peter’s odd behaviour, the last thing he saw was Peter pushing his body up against the graffiti wall and shoving his tongue down his throat. Not that Harry minded. If anything he could get used to this.
“Pete,” Harry moaned into the kiss. Peter’s hand slipped from the wall to around his waist and sunk down to Harry’s butt to give in a firm squeeze. Harry already clutching at Peter’s hoodie gave a light push to separate their lips. “Whoa, what’s got you so excited today?” Harry chuckled.
“What can I say, babe,” Peter grabbed Harry’s waist and pulled their bodies together, “you make me do crazy things.”
“I make you do crazy things,” Harry cocked up an eyebrow.
“Yeah,” Peter dipped his head into Harry’s neck and growled, “with this smoking body of yours.”
Harry gasped when Peter took a small bite on his neck and sucked on the skin. “No hickeys,” Harry pushed away again, “I still have school and yours is about to start.”
“I can spare a few minutes,” Peter reached for Harry’s lips again but this time Harry covered his mouth with his hand.
“No you don’t and I promised John to come in early to help test his project.”
Harry expected Peter to lay off but was surprised to feel the grip on his waist tighten. Peter frowned and said with distaste, “John?”
“Yeah, my lab partner John Jameson remember?”
“Can’t he get someone else to help?” Peter stepped back and folded his arms. Harry would have normally let a comment like that slip and joke it off but the low growl in Peter's voice set off a warning bell.
“Well he is my partner and he’s also my friend. What’s wrong with asking for my help?”
“You guys just spend a lot of time together.”
“No more than what you spend with Miles or Gwen,” Harry narrowed down his eyes at Peter. “I can have friends at Oz Academy too you know.”
Peter rolled his eyes, “Whatever.”
Harry's eyes widened at Peter’s dismissal. He clenched his teeth and jabbed a finger into Peter’s chest, “What is your problem?”
Peter looked ready to answer when the sounds of sirens filled the air. He spared a look towards the direction of the noise and sighed, “It’s nothing babe.” He pressed a quick kiss on Harry’s lips and grabbed his bag by their feet. “School is about to start so gotta run. Talk to you later.” Peter ran out of the alley with the explanation for his bizarre behaviour.
Something was up with Peter. Forget the hot make-out sessions and the confidence boost. It was not worth it if he had to deal with self-righteous, arrogant person that has taken the face of his boyfriend. “Babe!” Harry stepped faster on the sidewalk with the voice right behind him, “Babe! Slow down!” Peter had managed to catch up to him and side-stepped in front of Harry.
“Peter move,” Harry growled.
“Chill out H.O, you ran out before I could give you your shake,” Peter raises the two-to-go cups of their spinach shake.
“I don’t want it!” Harry snapped.
“What’s your problem? I’m just trying to give you your drink.”
“What’s my problem?!” The boy had the nerve! “My problem is you flirting with the barista while I’m standing right beside you Peter!” The husky voice, the suggestive comments, that damn wink Peter gave to the giggly girl. Harry isn’t sure why he didn’t just dump his shake on Peter right there.
“Babe, its nothing serious, I was just playing along.” Harry has seen that smug grin enough times on Peter’s face to want to knock it right off. His eyes glanced over to the shakes and he sees black numbers rotating around the cup. He grabbed the cup from Peter and keeps himself from screaming in the middle of the city.
“Is this her number?!”
“I guess so,” Peter shrugged.
“Do you not see anything wrong with this?!” Harry pointed to the thick black numbers with a giant call me underneath.
“She wanted some of this,” Peter gestured to himself, “I really don’t blame her but I only have eyes for you.” Peter tried to grab Harry’s waist with his free hand but Harry immediately flinched out of this.
“Do you even hear yourself?” Harry looks up to the sky and groans, “You get jealous over me helping my lab partner with his project but I’m just supposed to be fine with you getting flirty with the barista and trading numbers.”
“Babe, I’m probably never going to see her again.”
“Stop calling me ‘Babe’!”
“What you hate when I call you that now?” Peter looked unimpressed.
“When I’m furious with you yes!” Harry felt like he was talking to a stranger. “Look I don’t know what’s going on with you right now but when you are ready to stop acting like a jerk and talk about it then you can come and find me but until then bye Peter.” Harry moved around Peter and stomped off, ignoring the calls for his name until they stopped.
It was impossible for Harry to enjoy his drink when he had ton constantly stare at that girl’s number written so neatly and cute for his boyfriend. Harry would admit that he felt way more satisfied than he should, dumping the cup down the trash. He thought his day couldn’t get any worse he finds Spider-man attacking Dr.Toomes. He couldn’t see what Peter and the rest of the city saw in that menace. He literally just tried to frame his professor for a crime he didn’t do after doing his time in prison. Some hero he was. Safe to say he was having a bad day. Peter hadn’t called or texted Harry so he was surprised to see him sitting in the café that morning and thankfully without those ridiculous shades.
“Harry,” Peter raised his hand to catch his attention. No, H.O or babe has the evil spirit that's possessed Peter’s body finally left and returned his boyfriend. Maybe. It was too soon to say and he was still pissed so he met Peter with a glare. He watched the brunette shrink in his chair and good he needs to see the guilt on Peter’s face before starting this talk.
Harry took the seat right across from Peter, “So.”
Peter's eyes widened at the sudden assault. His hands reached for the cup in front of him and push it towards Harry, “Should I start with the apology shake?” There was that cute dorky smile on Peter’s face that Harry wanted to give in to but the attitude from Peter yesterday was still fresh in his head and he kept up his cold act.
“If we aren’t going to talk I could just take this and leave,” Harry took the shake and sucked on the straw.
“Okay, I know I deserve this,” Peter gestured to Harry and his behaviour. Harry could see a slight pout from Peter’s bottom lip. “I’ve been an absolute jerk lately and I am so sorry Harry.”
“Is this apology for the flirting yesterday in particular?” Harry crossed his arms.
“Well, yes? No? For everything really and how I’ve been acting for the past few days.”
“Great,” Harry said, “because that hurt Peter.” He tried to hide the tiny crack in his voice.
“I’m sorry, I wasn’t myself yesterday. I was an idiot and I promise it will never happen again.” Harry didn’t feel he could be angry at Peter for much longer considering how sincere he sounded. “It’s just been tough,” Peter continued, “I’ve just been dealing with a lot between school and my job.”
“Peter, I’m not just your boyfriend, I’m your best friend,” Harry grabbed Peter’s hand, “I’m here for you.”
“I know,” Peter squeezed his hand back. Harry smiled and sucked on his shake. Peter was back to normal or as normal as Peter Parker could get. “So, am I forgiven?” Peter asked with a small smiled.
Harry hummed, “Maybe after an apology blueberry muffin.”
“Coming right up,” Peter jumped out of his seat and placed a giant kiss on Harry’s cheek. Harry loved his science-loving, geeky, awkward boyfriend and was glad to have him back
My Larb- Peter Parker x Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Not my gif! Aww I love him so much, look at the soft boi)
Requested by: The Anon above, who’s been so patient with me. (۶ꈨຶꎁꈨຶ )۶ʸᵉᵃʰᵎ Summary: The request above says it all! And a whole heap o’ fluff n’ stuff. Warning: Mild language. Small time skips. Warning of intimacy (not smut) in the bonus scene at the end. My editing skills are so on point today. I read over this and I realised that there’s a lot of interruptions in the dialogues and a lot frozen moments. Woospers :D Author’s Note: I used the scene from Homecoming when Ned finds out Peter’s Spider-Man, but I altered it a bit to suit this storyline! Happy reading <3
Masterlist
“Wait, I always get this wrong. Ned, this piece goes here right? I mean, that’s what it says on the instructions… I think?”
Your said best friend put his own LEGO piece down before he turned his attention to you. You watched as his eyes narrowed for a moment before he grinned and shook his head. “That one goes on the other side. Here.” He pointed to his side of the Death Star.
With disappointment, you blew a raspberry and shuffled on your knees toward him, before reaching over yours and Ned’s creation, carefully, and placing the small piece securely down.
Peter had been gone for longer than you had anticipated. Sure, you knew the Stark Internship was taking away most of his time, but this was ridiculous.
You looked down at your watch, as Ned hummed the Star Wars theme softly, placing down a few more bricks in place. You’d been in his room for over two hours since the end of school, just waiting for him to come back. You and Ned both had a lot of time on your hands since you were going to sleep over, but he couldn’t take this long, could he?
“Do you think Peter’ll be back soon?” You asked gently, trying not to sound too eager for your crush best friend to return.
“Yeah I think so. But, one time he came back at, like, 2 in the morning—“
You could’ve sworn your eyes had popped out of their sockets, “Did you wait that long for him?”
“Oh,” Ned laughed and shook his head, placing down a few bricks before letting his eyes settle onto yours again, “No, no. He texted me…” Reaching down into his jeans pocket, he pulled out his phone and began to scroll through some of his texts before turning the screen toward you.
Your eyebrows created a small crease above your nose, as you leaned toward the screen reading the text exchange between your two friends. Upon taking a moment to read a few, you noticed where it said ‘Thursday, 2:21 am’. The creases above your nose only increased, when you found your name mentioned in one of the text bubbles.
“Ned, why’s my name here?” Your finger began to point toward the screen, but upon processing your question he swiftly snatched away the object and shoved it right back into his pocket.
“I-It’s nothing! You know? We were j-jus’ talking about how… how great you are. A-And—“
“Were you guys… bitching about me?”
As if you had done something extremely wrong, Ned’s expression faltered and his head shook, whilst his face contorted with disgust. “We’d never.”
Surely they weren’t. Ned’s genuine concern was enough to convince you otherwise, but you couldn’t help but have the small feeling that maybe they were talking about you behind your back. Realising you had created a bit of an awkward silence, your eyes wandered over the almost finished Death Star, your hands gently sliding over the different textures of the creation.
“Let’s move it onto the bed,” Your voice was soft, apologetic for your previous episode. You didn’t mean to lash out, or seem like you were suspicious of your friends. They meant as much to you, as you meant to them. Although your feelings for the puppy-eyed brunet was a lot stronger than that of your feelings for Ned.
Immediately, his expression shifted, a grin replacing the frown which was once evident. “Sounds good! Ooh it looks so cool!” You giggled as he cheered out, his excitement etched in his features.
Taking one side of the LEGO Death Star, and you the other, after a ‘One, two, three’ you both lifted it up from the ground, slowly making its way up to his bed. Just before you managed to even get it over his bed, you noticed Ned’s eyes widen, staring at something behind you. He was unmoving.
With confusion you turned your head around and watched as the one and only Spider-Man began to crawl through the window. He was silent and hadn’t noticed you yet, so like Ned, you remained frozen, clutching onto the Death Star, eyes broad with shock.
Your mouth opened wider, almost gasping, when Spider-Man took his mask off, throwing it to the ground. No way. He crawled along the ceiling, before letting a web attach to the bedroom door, closing it as silently and as slowly as possible, as to not alert Aunt May. No way. He slipped off of the ceiling, landing gracefully, before completely shutting the door with a click.
Peter’s breath caught in his throat and his stomach dropped when he turned around only to find his two best friends, staring with wide eyes and open mouths.
In a matter of seconds your Death Star which had taken a few hours to build, had slipped through both yours and Ned’s fingers, crashing to the ground with a rain of detached LEGO pieces.
Though you had just thrown away your hard work, the Death Star wasn’t that important anymore. What was important was that your crush, your best friend was a bloody superhero.
“No way,” You breathed.
“You’re the Spider-Man,” Ned added just as breathless as you.
Peter’s head shook furiously, his heart pounding. He’s caught. “N-No, I’m not. I’m not. This is—“
“You were on the ceiling.” Ned stated, clueless to the fact that you were now a blushing mess, as Peter had pressed down on the black spider on his suit, loosening it around his toned body. The material dropped to the ground, leaving him half-naked in front of you both. You never knew how well built he was. Now you knew you couldn’t take your eyes off of him.
“What are you guys doing here?!” He yelled in a loud whisper, frustration evident on his face.
You weren’t going to answer, you couldn’t answer. You were too enamoured by him, your mouth was still open wide. Luckily, Ned was there to answer for you, “Aunt May let us in, you said we were going to finish the Death Star together!”
“Well, you can’t just bust into my room—!“
The sound of giggling interrupted the boy, as Aunt May opened the door without knocking. A trail of smoke ran into the bedroom, as she began to wave a cloth around with a few coughs between her giggles. May’s meatloaf never worked out; a trait that only made you love her more. You would’ve laughed with her then, but Peter was shirtless; his toned body made him hot rather than cute now, but your feelings for him only increased.
It was clear through her facial expressions that she was confused as to why her nephew was half-naked, why your face was beet-red and why all of you looked like you were deers in headlights.
“That-uhh, that turkey meatloaf is a disaster,” She grinned, taking out her hair clip, before turning her full attention to you three, “So I’ll be getting dinner. Thai? Y/N, Ned, do you guys want come with me?”
“I’ll go.” The curly haired brunette was quick to answer, a fake smile plastered on his face. If you and Ned were to come along, who knows whether or not you’d spill his secret to the one person he absolutely did NOT want finding out.
“Okay…” Her smile wavered for a moment, before she took a hold of the doorknob. She caught your stare for a moment and it was as if a button had been pushed inside her mind, joining all the dots together. It caused her to push a breathy laugh through her grin, only to then send you a wink.
The action only made you duck your head, as your cheeks flushed in embarrassment. To your misfortune, Ned had noticed the small motion, enabling a few dots to begin to connect in his brain too.
“Maybe put on some clothes,” She gestured quickly toward Peter, her finger danced around to exaggerate the fact that he wasn’t wearing anything, but his boxers. And then she closed the door, the thud of her footsteps growing quieter.
Peter was swift to grab the random grey sweater from his desk chair, before turning around with gritted teeth.
“She doesn’t know!” Once again Ned read your thoughts, whisper-yelling the moment you couldn’t hear Aunt May’s steps.
Your eyes softened, watching as Peter frantically began to thread his arms through the sweater, “Nobody knows! You guys can’t tell anybody about this, okay?!” Once the item of clothing was finally comfortably over his body, much to your disappointment, he stomped up to the both of you, his voice firm, but desperate.
“Bu—“
“May can’t know about this. I cannot do that to her right now! You know… I mean everything’s happening with her and I— Please guys… ” The brunet drifted off.
You finally came to your senses after his eyes had bored into your E/C ones, searching for an answer from you. Peter was in need of help and you were his friend, and you’d do anything for him. “C’mon Ned,” You gently whispered to you him, “We can keep this a secret, right?”
“Yeah… okay.”
“J-Just…” His eyes closed for a moment to pause. The atmosphere in the room changed at least a hundred times over the course of just a few minutes, “…swear it, okay?”
“I swear,” Ned nods softly.
“I swear too.”
His eyes still held desperation, but his shoulders seemed to loosen in relief. It was about time that someone knew about his secret, and yet it still wasn’t the ideal way to find out about it. “Thank you.”
Your heart pounded against your chest when Peter shoved his bottom lip between his teeth, biting down to relieve that last bit of stress he still held. However you sympathised with him - to bottle up such a secret was bound to become overwhelming once it was out. You could understand that, wholeheartedly. “I’m sorry Peter.”
“It’s not your fault, I just… I can’t believe this is happening.”
You wanted to hug him, wrap him up in tons and tons of blankets, kiss his head and tell him everything would be okay. You wanted to do it so badly. You just stood there, moping, contemplating, whilst Ned began to pick up the Death Star pieces, placing them back in the correct box it was stored in before.
Peter reached down and grabbed his Spider-Man suit, laying it over his desk chair, before turning to you. His keen eyes watched as you held up his mask to him sheepishly. Gosh, you were so endearing. In a way it was good that he was leaving with his Aunt to grab dinner, otherwise he would have pounced on you then and there.
“I’m sorry again, I promise you I won’t tell anyone. Especially not Aunt May,” Your fingers lightly brushed over his as you passed on the mask. It sent a shiver through your body, sending you into a ramble, “I mean, I want to keep it a secret because I actually know something that no one else does, and it’s kinda exhilarating, because no one usually tells me anything, or any of the gossip or anything.”
For the first time that night, the corners of Peter’s lips curled upward in a sincere smile, a real one. He found your rambling adorable, especially for the reason that you were extremely honest when you were nervous. His hand began to come up to touch your shoulder, but he quickly manoeuvred the action and let his hand comb through his hair instead. “It’s okay, umm… we can talk about everything later. I’ll be back soon, so…” His cheeks had puffed up for a moment, leading up to the moment when he finally let a laugh past his lips, “So don’t mess anything up when we’re gone.”
“Yes sir!” Ned saluted.
“Make sure you get my favourite,” You quickly had added, as half of Peter’s body was already out of the room.
“Will do, my larb.”
As you put in the last few pieces of the Death Star back into the box, you had begun to eye the suit that hanged from the chair. It was inviting you to wear it, you just knew it.
“I’m gonna try on the suit.”
“Wait Y/N, but what if Peter—“
“It’s fine, Ned. I don’t think he’ll get mad just because I wanted to try it on. And if May accidentally finds me wearing it, we’ll just tell her it’s a costume!”
Ned stopped and thought for a moment, before giving you a nod, “Alright. But I get to wear the mask.”
“Done.”
“Alright~” Aunt May cooed excitedly, shutting the door and locking it, before turning around to head toward the kitchen. Both Peter’s and her arms were filled with an array of Thai foods.
As she dropped the food onto the counter, Peter following suit, before raising her head, calling out, “Y/N! Ned! Food’s here!”
A sudden crash sounded, from Peter’s bedroom, and the Parkers’ heads snapped toward the noise. The crash was then followed by a few murmurs and frantic whispers. May tapped her nephew on the shoulder, startling him, before he just realised what she had said.
“Maybe go check up on them and I’ll set the table,” In order to stop her laugh, she pursed her lips and nodded toward the boy’s bedroom door. Her hand gently pushed his shoulder, to get him going.
Ever since his friends’ encounter of his alter-ego, he’s been on edge. He dropped a few foods when they were carrying it up to their apartment, and he even rambled on about who-knows-what to one of the employees in the small restaurant out of nervousness. Now whatever the crash was, he hoped it had nothing to do with his Spider-Man suit.
“Guys what’s going o— Ned!” His voice suddenly dropped to a loud whisper the second he entered his bedroom. Peter froze for a moment to take in what he was seeing; Ned on his couch, wearing his mask and testing out the different gadgets held within the material. After hearing his Aunt’s quiet humming close by, Peter then swiftly shut the door, his face once again fearful of the fact that maybe someone else might find out about his secret.
“Take it off before May sees!”
“Can I wear it for a little longer, pleeease?” Ned whined, “Peter, this is the coolest thing ever.”
A sigh had fallen from the brunet’s lips, whilst his fingers came up to pinch the bridge of his nose. He knew that no matter the answer, Ned would still wear it. “Fine…”
“Peter, oh my gosh this is so cool.”
“Hold up, where’s Y/N?” He peeked behind his friend. Not finding you on the bed, caused him to frown, before resting his hand onto his desk chair, to then retract his hand, a gasp sounding throughout the room, and he jumped backward in fright, “Where my suit?!”
“U-Umm… I think she’s still in the bathroom,” Ned answered timidly. He’d never seen Peter so panick-stricken before. “And yeah, she’s uhh... you know, probablywearingyoursuitrightnow.”
Peter didn’t answer, so Ned took it upon himself to try to ‘calm him down’.
“I-I told her not to do it, but she just went and did it. Y-You know? I told her Peter’ll get mad,” He mimics himself with a low voice even though it was his own voice, “And then she says, No, he won’t get angry because he has a massive crush on me.”
“She knows about that? Please tell me you didn’t tell her, Ned.”
“Oh… no I didn’t. I was just… But you do have a massive crush on her, I’m not going to lie.”
“Hey Ned. This suit is super tight,” Your voice sounded behind the bedroom door, before your figure slipped into the room. You giggled and closed the door, not realising that Peter was in fact present inside, his eyes already skimming over every single part of your body. “I don’t know how he could wear this… everyday. H-Hi Peter.“
“Y/N…” He said breathlessly. You were beautiful enough already just wearing just wearing loose tracksuit pants, a hoody and messy, unruly hairstyles. But now, the suit was hugging you tightly in all the right places, highlighting and enhancing the curves that you possessed. The roles reversed; Peter couldn’t take his eyes off of you now. He didn’t want to. “Y-You look amazing… you look…” He wanted to say beautiful, breathtaking, stunning, alluring, drop-dead gorgeous. Liz Allen had nothing on you now.
In a sheepish manner you tucked a strand of your hair behind your ear, letting your E/C orbs drift to the floor before coming back up to meet the brunet’s gaze. Any sort of compliment would’ve made you swoon, but a compliment that’d pass through Peter’s lips would make you melt. “Thank you,” You whispered in return. You had no other words to describe the beautiful feeling you were feeling at that moment. As cliché as it sounded you felt as though you were in heaven and everything was merely a dream. It was hard not to ignore the redness of the boy’s cheeks and his subtle ‘undressing with his eyes’ motion.
“I might go help out with dinner,” Ned chuckled lightly, throwing a thumb over his shoulder as he began to back out of the bedroom. It was obvious that you two were entranced by each other and Ned knew for a while that Peter had developed a stronger sense of affection toward you, so he didn’t want to intrude. In fact he wanted to encourage you two to work out your feelings for each other on your own, instead of having his presence in the room.
“W-Wait Ned—!”
The door slammed shut, and you turned around catching Peter’s gaze, only to cause him to stiffen. Silence had never felt so awkward around you both.  Your fingers quietly fiddled with the material of the suit, whilst one of your feet began to kick at the carpet.
Peter tried his best - emphasis on tried - to refrain from looking to your direction. There was obvious tension floating throughout the brunet’s room, but it was tough to recognise want kind of tension it was.
“You— you’re not mad that I’m wearing your suit… are you?” You asked in a hushed tone, your fingers tightening around the material. You wanted to take it off, it was starting to get pretty hot.
“N-No, no. No way. No, I’m not. I’m—No, I’m not. Definitely not.” He stopped himself, pursing his lips and raising his eyebrows awkwardly.
(A/N: Apologies if this part gets confusing. If it does, please let me know :))
You weren’t really good at this. You’d never really been in a situation like this.
Peter wasn’t really good at this. He’d never really been in a situation like this.
Is this what ‘perfect timing’ is? Should you be open and tell him your feelings?
Surely he didn’t have to tell you now. There had to be another time to tell.
Yeah, maybe this wasn’t the right time to tell him.
Maybe this was the right time to tell you.
Maybe he returns your feelings...
Maybe you return his feelings...
It’s now or never.
Come on Spider-Man.
“Y/N, I like you!” “I like you, Peter!”
“What?” “Wait what?”
“Y-You...”
“Go first...?”
“Okay. Look. Y/N—” Peter’s hand had subconsciously made its way to the back of his head, his fingers mingling with his light-brown curls, “I know we’re best friends, a-and I don’t want to ruin anything between us, but I... I really like you. Like more than a friend. More than a best friend.”
“Peter...” You could tell how much courage it had taken him to just say that. It was hard enough for you to say it, so you empathised with him. “I don’t think we’ll ruin anything.”
His eyes had seemed to light up at those words, the corners of his lips twitching with excitement.
“Because I really like you too.”
“Even though you know that I’m Spider-Man?”
You nodded rather eagerly. “I larb you.” You grinned up at him cheekily, taking a wobbly step closer to him. His familiar scent was invading your nose, you were that close.
He looked down at you and returned the gesture, but skin bunched up at the end of his nose and he made a face. “That was cheesy... even for me.”
“Sorry, I had to,” You shrugged. At a sudden memory your face began to heat up once more, “I-I mean, you referred to me as ‘my larb’ before. So I kind of had to return the favour.”
You two shared a laugh, forgetting about the fact that you were still wearing a super tight, red and blue spandex suit, that belonged to none other than the Spider-Man himself. Peter.
“Hey umm, Y/N?”
You would’ve thought that after having confessed he’d be a little less nervous around you, but his nerves only seemed to heighten at his gentle ask. “Yeah?”
“I can— You wouldn’t mind if I, umm, kissed you, right?”
You wanted to say yes, in fact you just wanted to attack him with kisses, but there was one problem; you’d never kissed anyone before. Well, not on the lips anyway.  You responded hesitantly, “I wouldn’t mind, but I...”
And just like that you could feel him. His lips felt so soft on your skin, although slightly chapped. It was warm where he kissed you, despite the fact that your face was already hot with sheepishness.
He pulled away from your cheek with his eyes focused intently on yours. The kiss wasn’t on your lips and yet your heart was still going crazy inside your chest.
“Was that okay?” He slyly took your hand into his, his thumb was drawing small circles on the back of your hand.
“That was...”
He felt proud, your lips were parted slightly and your eyes were the tiniest bit wide, shocked by the kiss. He never thought he’d have such an effect on you. If he’d known how you’d have reacted, Peter would have kissed you sooner. Gosh he felt smug.
“...on the cheek.”
Nevermind.
BONUS (warning- intimate scene, but shouldn’t be too bad. Rated M, I guess, for mature scene):
If you weren’t feeling hot already, you were definitely starting to cook now. Aunt May and Ned were beginning to start up the movie for the night after having ate take-out dinner, whilst you and Peter had returned to his room.
Peter stood with his back leaned against the door, his hand loosely covering his mouth. “I can’t believe that worked,” He mumbled into his palm. The familiar red hue came straight back to his face, as you shyly looked at him from the centre of the bedroom.
You felt so exposed just standing the middle of his room. Both of you had come back to get changed into pyjamas, but now that you had confessed your feelings, the thought of changing clothes in front of each other was ought to create vivid fantasies.  You gently tugged on the material by your wrists and averted your gaze from Peter’s for a moment. If your mind had just kept in check, you wouldn’t have been feeling so sheepish.
“P-Peter...” You started softly, catching his attention immediately. You could’ve sworn he jumped at your sudden call of his name. Nevertheless, every ounce of his attention was turned toward you. “H-Help me get changed?”
“...” He gulped.
No answer had come out of his mouth or out of his actions. You waited for him for a reaction, but he remained frozen in place. In all honesty, you didn’t want to force anything on him or make him uncomfortable, but you yearned for his touch. The tension between you both was evident at the dinner table, so why not relieve the tension whilst you’re alone now? Sure, maybe you could’ve waited longer till you were a little more mature, and till you’d had a little more knowledge of your feelings for the boy. But there were so many signs pointing to the fact that this was a good idea and the perfect time.
Taking his silence as confirmation, you decided to take it in your own hands and you walked up to him. Your golden rimmed E/C eyes peered up at Peter’s chocolate-brown orbs for a bit, before you turned around, your back facing him.  Still unable to feel any sort of reaction from him, you took in a quiet, deep breath before exhaling, along with a press of the black spider on your chest.
Whilst you remained somewhat calm, Peter took a minute to finally come back to his senses. The material that was once tight around your curvy form, swiftly loosened with the gentle push of the spider symbol. Your bare back was exposed, however the spandex material still managed to hold on to your shoulders.
Oh, how badly Peter wanted to touch you. His best friend, his crush, his Y/N was standing so generously in front of him, inviting him to touch. But what would you think if you felt his sweaty palms on your back? What would you think of his inexperience?  He quickly shook his head. He was overreacting. Come on Spider-Man. You were someone he trusted with all his heart, he knew you weren’t one to judge, so maybe this was okay. Perhaps you were content with this all.
“I’m going to take off the suit- just... tell me if you feel uncomfortable and I’ll stop,” He said in a hushed tone, letting his shaky hands come up to your shoulders.
A new heat rushed to your cheeks as you felt his fingers skim the skin of your shoulders. His touch was obviously hesitant, merely feather-like and you had to really pull yourself together as not to flinch from the ticklish feeling.
The silence wasn’t awkward, as Peter could only focus on the feeling of your back. His fingers roamed as much of your bare skin as possible, as there was only a limited amount. Softly, he allowed his fingers to then find themselves under the material of the suit, slowly pushing it to the edge of your shoulders.
You let out a wobbly breath as the material had only hung by your shoulders for a second longer, before finally falling down your arms. You then let the suit fall down further, and it bunched up around your hips. You could feel Peter’s now steady breaths hit against the top of your back, just below your neck. It gave you a sense of security, feeling his presence behind you.
His hands remained firm on the edges of your shoulders, taking his time and making sure you were alright. Making sure he wasn’t moving too fast. He stepped closer to you, till you felt the material of his grey sweater on your back.
Another wobbly breath passed your lips, as you felt his warm lips gently press down on the skin connecting your neck and shoulder. The air that escaped his nose tickled, causing your shoulder to jerk upwards, unwillingly trapping Peter’s head between your neck and shoulder.“Sorry, Peter,” You whispered, “I’m just… really ticklish there.”
He laughed through his nose and placed a kiss firmly against your neck, before pulling away and allowing his eyes to settle on the side-profile of your face. Your eyes were closed, your lips were parted with soft, uneven breaths passing through them and he watched as you seemed to smile every once in a while. It was too cute.
“Peter,” Your voice still hushed, “Can you please get my pyjama shirt? I-It’s just on the bed there.”
He huffed in acknowledgement, as he moved forward to retrieve your shirt. However he persisted and one of his hands still stayed glued to your back, while the other reached out to his bed. It was as though if he’d let go you’d disappear, and he wanted to touch you for as long as possible. If he’d just turned his head around, he’d be able to see your breasts, but the gentleman that you knew the brunet to be, used all his self-control not to.
Returning back behind you, Peter finally let his other hand let go from you, nevertheless remaining quite close. He folded your shirt back to normal, as it was inside-out. He lifted the material up to his nose, and smiled into it. You smelled so good.
“Lift up your hands now, so I can…” Peter brought up the shirt, as he watched your arms silently lift up. With a gentle movement, you felt his chest press against your back again once the shirt began to move down your arms. You closed your eyes as the material pulled down over your face. Everything was slow and smooth, hesitant but willing.
Peter tugged at the shirt when it hadn’t moved further down. His eyebrow raised in worry when he felt your body shake.
You were giggling. The tension you felt drifted away almost immediately as you squeal out,  “I’m stuck!” Your body wriggled and you could feel your hair beginning to build electricity from the friction of the shirt’s material.
Peter laughed along with you, doing his absolute best to pull down your shirt. He stopped for a moment to check where the whole for your head was, locating your actual head right after. He grinned to himself as he dragged your pyjama shirt back, finally getting it over and down your form. He was back to being as gentle as before.
You could feel, as the shirt came down, that Peter’s fingers would tenderly run down the sides of your waist. And you’d emit noises, mixed with pleasure and playfulness as the feeling sent shivers down your spine but also tickled you.
Content, you let your eyes wander to the side, before the rest of your body followed, facing you toward the puppy-dog eyed boy. You sweetly smiled up at him. He was so kind to you, so gentle, and so restrained despite the fact that he was a hormonal teenage boy who had almost seen your half-naked body.
If it weren’t for May’s and Ned’s pleas for you two to hurry up, because the movie’s starting, you would’ve allowed Peter to undress you completely; even though, you knew full well that neither of you would withstand the sexual tension.
“We’re gonna eat all your popcorn~!” Both May and Ned cooed loudly from the living room.
Peter pursed his lips and he tapped his palm against his thigh impatiently. He was trying to look everywhere but at you; now putting on your pyjama shorts. “W-We’re comi—!”
“Peter.” You whispered suddenly, catching his attention. Your E/C orbs bored into his brown ones. They were hypnotising.
“Y/N, I-I don’t know if you’ll let me... but I really- I need to kiss you right now.”
No more hesitations, no more shyness, no more awkwardness. The moment your lips connected, you knew this was right. Everything about this was right. Being with Peter - kissing him, feeling his wonderfully soft lips dance along yours, feeling his hands crawl up from your hips and sliding them over the bare skin of your waist - it was all right. The kisses you shared were heated, desperate, fast-paced, still inexperienced, but amazing.
You almost forgot that you weren’t the only ones in the apartment.
You almost hadn’t noticed that May and Ned were standing by the door, mouths agape and faces stunned.
Peter pulled away from your lips with a pop, however keeping his arms firm around you, holding you close to his heaving chest. Both your lips were swollen and your cheeks had once again adapted the tomato-red colour.
“You love-birds have some explaining to do,” Aunt May raised a brow and jutted out a hip.
“Th-This... isn’t what it looks like??”
EVENT TWO: SOMETHING STRANGE, SOMETHING RED, SOMETHING... WACKY?
suddenly without warning, the orange hued sky begins to shift and change into reddish hues. like a strangely red-shaded aurora borealis. no one exactly knows what that means - but for those that are pretty personal with the stones could take a guess that reality is about to get weird.
for this event, everyone is affected with something bizarre/silly/just plain-old fun. let’s just hope everyone can survive the effects.
** if for some reason you feel that what has been given to your characters will not work, please send the main a message and we’ll work on something new for you! all we ask is that you have fun and you try them out first!
and if your character is not on the list, let us know~
below the cut is what each character is stuck with for this event.
steve rogers - any time steve says anything remotely leader-like, ‘born in the usa’  by bruce springsteen can be heard in the distance.
sharon carter - she must flip a coin before every decision she makes, heads she can proceed, tails and she can’t.
jean grey - the phoenix is now a macaw that sits on jeans shoulder and sass's anyone who questions it. including jean.
tony stark - his iron man suit is now the size of ant-man's suit when shrunk - and the only way he can use it at it's full size is if he asks FRIDAY really really nicely - and even then sometimes he might shrink down to fit the suit.
peggy carter - every time she turns around she is being followed by cats. strangely, every cat that turns up seems to remind her of someone she knows. no matter what she does, they still follow.
michelle jones - has ‘barbie girl’ by aqua on loop in her mind 24/7. the more she tries to ignore it, the louder it gets. some say they can actually hear it too. frightening.
riri williams - anything she builds or has built and brought with her now has a mind of its own and steadfastly refuses to do anything unless she speaks with it and addresses it as ‘ser bot of the mechanical wonders...’
pietro maximoff - when using his abilities, he can only make left turns. if he wants to make a right turn, he'll have to do it normal person speed.
peter parker - now has the powers and abilities of a moth.
carol danvers - instead of photon fists, she has hoedown fists - every time she raises her fist - people around her yell ‘yeehaw’. (her photon fists still work as normal - just with more cowboy)
bucky barnes - bucky is now narrating his life aloud - it’s as if he’s doing a voice over for a serious drama of his life. even he’s confused why he’s doing this.
kitty pryde - can only phase through people not objects. makes a honking noise each time she phases.
wanda maximoff - continuously believes she's on a reality tv show with a camera crew that follows her around. those within five feet of her can hear the captive audience reacting.
reed richards - instead of being able to stretch, reed can now solidify his body at will. basically, he can be an immoveable object.
amadeus cho - instead of being green - he turns purple. bright purple. except for his clothing. they're all green all the time. always.
harry osborn - somehow harry now has the smeagle/gollum complex. oops.
maria hill - all of her weapons are now made of rubber and the most harm they can do is emit a 'bonk' noise when she uses them.
teddy altman - every time he shapeshifts he absolutely HAS the need to compulsively yell out what and who he's shifting into. and he can only shift when he's near someone.
billy kaplan - every time he uses his magic a very loud 'ta-da' sound emits from around him. plus confetti. a lot of it.
marcos diaz - instead of having abilities like the sun, his abilities are now like the moon. have fun manipulating the tides.
ben reilly - now has the abilities of a worm. dancing the worm is not required.
kaine parker - now has the abilities of an ant. don't confuse him for ant-man.
clint barton - now is in full old-style Robin Hood clothing, yes including the green tights. He also has a forcible knack for saying cliche and sometimes silly things regarding his new look.
morgan stark - her suit reflects the color of her mother’s rescue armor, her a.i. now has her mother’s voice and personality. this could be awkward.
cindy moon - now has the ability of a goat. Spider-Silk-Goat. A little spooky, but hey! now with fifty percent more ability to punt people and things farther away!
brunnhilde - will now be plagued with ‘ride of the valkyries’ by richard wagner every time she speaks or thinks of a sarcastic remark. others will hear the music as well.
jessica drew - now has the abilities of a cat. cat-woman. not to be confused with dc’s catwoman. though she’s awesome too.
illyana rasputina - instead of channeling limbo, illyana will channel the fae realm. you know, the super cute and fluffy one.
yelena belova - the pinocchio syndrome. she cannot tell a lie lest her nose will grow.
lorna dane - can only manipulate silver - and her powers do the exact opposite of what she wants.
stephen strange - now has a magic wand, and can only do magic while using it. also his spells have to be from harry potter.
erik lehnsherr - must begin every sentence with ‘back in my day...’
thor odinson - has a new snake friend that remains wrapped around his arm and neck, it would be great if it didn’t bite every time he doesn’t speak his mind.
natasha romanoff - everything she says must sound like old noir/spy movie lingo, no matter what.
Steal My Heart
Word Count: 1282
Summary: You’re a metahuman who can influence emotions. Did you influence Peter Parker, a long time crush, to like you or is it on his own accord?
Peter Parker is easily one of the most attractive guys in your school. You’re sure of it. And you’ve been sure of it since you were young.
Sadly, the world generally shames people who have crushes on their best friends. So, you knew that you had to bury your feelings deep within you. Very deep, to where no one would ever find them.
Of course, burying your feelings is usually tougher for you. You’re a metahuman who can influence other’s emotions. This means if you have… stronger feelings for someone, you unconsciously begin to influence their emotions. You can’t completely change someone’s feelings, but if they’re sad, you can gently remind them of good memories. If they’re angry, you can coax them to just being slightly upset. If they like you, you can make the fondness more intense.
Which is why you have to be careful. You have to make sure you live in a state of neutrality. If you get real angry, you could start a riot. If you get real sad… well you know what happens when people get depressed.
You knew from the beginning that Peter Parker was Spider-man. It wasn’t that hard to figure out. His voice is so unique that you’d be an idiot to not know. But you played dumb. Knowing that he was out there, risking his life for strangers and your city, only made your love for him grow.
Tonight is one of many study dates. It’s not weird to find yourself at Peter’s house, just lounging about. Aunt May, who loves you now, took forever to warm up to you. She once told Peter that something was off about you. But quickly realized she was wrong. With some minor help from yours truly. You only sped up the process of her liking you, it would’ve happened at some point in time.
You plop yourself down in his desk chair, biting your lower lip as you put your books on his desk. Time to learn maths, your personal favourite. You are thankful, though; it’s much easier to keep your emotions neutral or under control when you’re bored out of your mind than when you’re staring at a very cute boy… who’s perfect in everyway and you-
You shake your head slightly, clearing your mind of the thoughts. “Ready, Peter?” You ask, turning your head to look at the boy who’s standing next to you.
You find his eyes already on your face, making a rose colour rise to your cheeks. Why would he be staring at you already? Damn, you’re probably influencing him…
He coughs slightly before nodding. “Y-yeah… maths. Your favourite, right?” He jokes before pulling up another chair, this one stolen from the dining table on your way in. He sets his own worksheet on the table, before grabbing a pencil and getting to work. He flies through the equations, stopping every now and then to think through the process before finishing it.
He's on his 5th question just as you’re finishing your 2nd. “Woah, woah, woah. Slow down, speedster. I need a little help with the formula on this one.” You tell him, pointing to the 3rd question.
Peter nods, leaning in to look at the paper closer. Your breath catches slightly as you realize how close your faces are. You could just lean over to kiss him right then. Your eyes are anchored to his face, watching as his eyes scan the question before looking skyward to think. You love the fact that you can just tell what he’s thinking by looking at his eyes.
His eyes finally make their way to yours, locking onto them. It’s like was casted over him as he stares at you.
Pink converges onto your cheeks as he continues to stare. You both start to lean in at the same time, your lips brushing his before you remember. My power! You quickly get up from the chair, stepping back from him.
Peter stares up at you, his face blood red as he goes to explain. “I-I-I thought you liked me too, I’m sorry if I misread that!”
You shake your head, “No no no no no, it’s not you! I-It’s me! I… I just can’t kiss you…”You mumble, feeling shy as you go to play with your fingers.
You can just feel the confusing pulsing off him as he takes a step forward. “What… what do you mean, you can’t kiss me?” He asks, confusion in every word.
You shrug, biting your lip. “I can’t tell you. Just please believe me.” You take a step to the side, it’s like you and Peter are going around each other. Resembling fighters in the ring.
He quietly shuts his door, so Aunt May can’t hear. “(Y/N), you can tell me anything. Don’t you trust me?” Peter asks, his voice a quiet whisper as he takes another step towards you, holding out his hands.
You look anywhere but at him, contemplating if you can actually tell him. “Okay… I’m only going to tell you, because I know you’re Spider-man.” You tell him, your voice low.
“W-What??? Noooo, I am not… who??” Peter says, trying to play it cool as his voice goes higher. You roll your eyes and give a small, halfhearted, chuckle.
“I wanted you to tell me when the time is right, but that’s not important, okay? You cannot tell anyone. You have to promise me that.” You put stress on ‘any’, making the most serious and straight face you’ve ever made in your life.
He nods, his lips pressing together.
You sigh and pinch the bridge of your nose. “Okay, so I have a power. It’s not cool like Wanda’s or fun like yours…. It’s lame and it really interfers with my life. But I can influence people’s emotions?” You tell him, making the last phrase sound like a question.
He looks shell shocked as his mouth opens. Before he can say anything, you start talking again. “Which is why I can’t kiss you. I have no idea if you actually like me, or if I’m just influencing you to like me because I’ve had the biggest crush on you since we met and I think it’s love. I can make people’s fondness for me more intense, almost? Like turning likeness into love and just a general friendship likeness into something more. I don’t know I’m doing it, I swear!” You rant, trying to tell him everything about your power before he freaks out.
He slowly starts to smile, before laughing. “(Y/N), you really think that you made me feel the way I do? No, there’s no way. There’s no way the way my stomach flips when I see you out of the corner of my eye is your influence. Or the way I can’t see to be able to talk when you’re around. Or how you still look cute in sweatpants and I can’t seem to catch my breath when you look at me. None of that is your doing. I’m in love with you and falling deeper every day. That’s not you.” He whispers, stepping closer and putting his hands on your cheeks. You close your eyes and lean into the warmth, his words settling your fears.
“So, will you please shut up and just kiss me…?” He asks, his voice hoarse and you smile. Opening your eyes to look into his sparkling brown ones. There’s a small smirk on his face, a confidence that you’ve never seen before. You nod before closing your eyes once again. This time, you lean in all the way.
“Peter Park, you steal my heart every day…” You whisper, your lips brushing his with every word.
Day 1: First Snow
This is my first fic and an Irondad! Prompt list from @marvel-storiez
Here you can find it on AO3.
~~
He'd been waiting for weeks for the first snow of the year. As excited as he was to be outside and play in it, he knew that precautions had to be made for him to go out. Of course, Tony had everything figured out since this wasn't their first year together. At 17 years old, Peter already had special clothes for this time of year, provided by his dad mentor a couple of years ago he got frostbite because he stupidity decided he wanted to walk to the tower after patrol.
When he entered the building, he was at the verge of pneumonia, which worried FRIDAY to no end (though we cannot confirm nor deny this). She sent him up as fast as possible and notified boss that Peter was on his way to the penthouse and he needed to go there NOW.
When Mr. Stark got there, the kid was on the couch trying his best to regain his warmth. Which of course, put Tony on the path of a panic attack as Peter would not answer him when he asked him what was wrong, but after asking FRI for a full body scan, he went looking for the thickest blankets he could find to put on Peter and sat there waiting for him to wake up. As soon as Peter regained some consciousness, Tony put a steaming cup of hot chocolate in his hands.
"So, what the hell was that, kid?" He asked, sitting down on the sofa, close to Peter's feet.
"Hey, Mr. Stark." He answered.
"Don't 'hey, Mr. Stark' me, Parker. I want to know what happened because when FRIDAY made me get out of the lab, she didn't give me any details and you were passed out here."
"It's nothing, Tony. I swear" he replies softly.
"So now I'm Tony--" "Sorry, Mr. Stark"
"Tony, Peter. It's Tony" he made a pause. "So? Anything you want to tell me"
"Yeah. So, you know how there are a lot of things we don't know of what the spider bite changed in my DNA? Well this is one of them. The thing is, I was in patrol after school like I told you and then I would come, but ehm iforgotmyjacketathomeandididn'twanttogobackandcomeherebecauseiwasalreadyclose"
"Wait, wait. Slow down. So, you just decided you would swing your way to the tower in this cold?" Asked with a frown. He was so used to listening to Peter's rambling that he was an expert on translating what he said.
"Actually, I walked here. Which I know I shouldn't have done cause. You know. Spiders can't thermoregulate." He said and kept his eyes in his cup.
"You are telling me you knew this, and you didn't tell me?"
"I'm sorry, Tony. I didn't want to worry you"
"You didn't want to worry me. Oh, I was beyond worried when I didn't know what was going on. I need to fix this. I'm going to the lab. You can come of you want" as soon as he said this he stood up, but froze before turning back around. "You should eat first, then come to the lab. I may need you input on something." and left the living room.
And that's how the father son duo spent all evening designing the best winter wear for Peter. He ended up with thermal t-shirt, hoodies, sweaters and pants. (If a few of those were Avengers themed, well, tony didn't mind as long as he used them. Even the Captain America sweaters, much to Tony's chagrin.)
So here he was now, finishing his homework on the counter of the penthouse waiting for his dad (yeah, his dad. He was still getting used to it, but he loved it) to bring the Pizzas they ordered. He was getting up to go get something to drink when his gaze went to the balcony, where it was starting to snow.
He grabbed his thermal jacket and stepped outside. When Tony got to the penthouse, he called for Peter to help him but couldn't find him. He was starting to panic when FRIDAY spoke. "Boss, Peter is in the balcony enjoying the view" he visibly calmed down and grabbed his coat to accompany Peter outside.
"Hey, kiddo" said Tony when he opened the door.
"What're you doing in the cold?"
"It's snowing! Look!" Peter tuned around and showed his hand with a few snowflakes.
"That's nice, but it's too cold here. We should go inside" he said, a little worried.
"It's ok, dad." Tony's eyes softened considerably. "I'm wearing my thermal clothes. It's awesome by the way. Have I told you already?"
"Yes, you have." He make a pause and turned his gaze toward the city. "Has it been two years, already?"
"Ah? Yeah! Best two years of my life, I mean, how many people can say that they have the great--" Tony interrupted him. "Iron Man as a Dad?"
"Na, the great Tony Stark as their dad. Best years ever" he said with the biggest smile he could give.
"Come here, kiddo" he said, pulling Peter into his arms.
"Let's go inside and eat, you must be starving."
"Yeah, ok" said as he moved with his father figure toward the kitchen.
Best years indeed
Valentine’s Day is a great day to cuddle up and watch a movie about love. In fact, they actually made a movie called Valentine’s Day, but it was just a rip-off of Love, Actually. With so many sappy movies out there, it’s hard to sift out the good from just more of the same.
So we’ve done the work for you! Here are twenty-three of the best romantic movies ever made to watch on Valentine’s Day.
23 – Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)
In this moving film, it is slowly revealed that a couple chose to have a procedure that erased memories of each other. Jim Carrey plays Joel, opposite Kate Winslet playing Clementine. As the movie slowly reveals loving and intimate moments in their relationship, you become more and more emotionally involved in the story.
Best Quote
Joel: “I could die right now, Clem. I’m just… happy. I’ve never felt that before. I’m just exactly where I want to be.”
22 – About Time (2013)
Tim Lake (played by Domhnall Gleeson) discovers a superpower when he turns 21: he can travel in time and change past events. While he could try doing any number of things to make the world a better place, he decides to use his power to…get a girlfriend. His romantic interest is Mary (played by Rachel McAdams), and their relationship endures its share of trials and tribulations.
This film is from the creators of Love Actually, and it’s worth a try for anyone looking for a well-done romantic comedy.
Best Quote
Tim: [voiceover] “We’re all traveling through time together, every day of our lives. All we can do is do our best to relish this remarkable ride.”
21 – The Notebook (2004)
The Notebook is beloved by women everywhere for good reason. Allie (Rachel McAdams) is such a warm and likable character, pursued by the equally charming Noah (Ryan Gosling). Their love story withstands many tests but we realize that it lasts into their old age.
Wonderful performances by McAdams and Gosling have made this a super-popular and award-winning film. It might be cheesy, but it’s heartwarming and genuine too.
Best Quote
Noah: “I am nothing special; just a common man with common thoughts, and I’ve led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten. But in one respect I have succeeded as gloriously as anyone who’s ever lived: I’ve loved another with all my heart and soul; and to me, this has always been enough.”
20 – Love and Basketball (2000)
While many romance movies are difficult for men to watch, Love & Basketball helps draw male viewers into this “chick flick” genre becuase of its underlying sports theme. Quincy (Omar Epps) and Monica (Sanaa Lathan) meet on the basketball court as kids. Their love/hate relationship develops as their lives continually intersect – they’re both pursuing their individual dreams of playing pro ball.
If you’re young, enjoy sports, or crave passion, this movie’s for you.
Best Quote
Monica says, “It’s a trip, you know? When you’re a kid, you see the life you want, and it never crosses your mind that it’s not gonna turn out that way.”
19 – Cactus Flower (1969)
Kate Hudson’s mom, Goldie Hawn, won an Oscar for her portrayal of Toni Simmons, a confused 21-year old woman in a relationship with an older man (Walter Matthau). Although it sort of looks like an Austin Powers film, Hawn’s wit and charm allows you to still get into it.
The complicated love story is about the various lies a dentist tells to keep a relationship. Interestingly enough, the story was appropriated by by Adam Sandler in Just Go With It (2011).
Best Quote
Toni Simmons: “Now why don’t you go back and mind your own business like everyone else in New York City?”
Although it’s one of those bleak comedies, Lost in Translation has a great romance at its heart. Bob Harris (Bill Murray) and Charlotte (Scarlett Johansson) really capture what it feels like to be traveling somewhere completely unfamiliar and wanting a connection. The brief moments of Anna Farris spoofing Cameron Diaz add just the right amount of laughs to tide you over, until the moment when Bob whispers something in Charlotte’s ear and they say goodbye.
Best Quote
Charlotte: “Let’s never come here again because it would never be as much fun.”
17 – When in Rome (2010)
Although Forgetting Sarah Marshall is Kristen Bell’s most popular role, her performance in When in Rome (2010) is underrated. Bell plays Beth, an ambitious New Yorker who steals some coins from a famous love fountain in Italy during her sister’s wedding. Because of her theft, she’s chased down by Danny DeVito, Will Arnett, Jon Heder, and Dax Shepard, who are under a love spell.
The movie is lighthearted, funny, and a great way to create and celebrate a happy Valentine’s Day.
Best Quote
Beth: “Dad. When you married Mom, did you ever think that you wouldn’t make it?”
Beth’s Dad: “Elizabeth Ann. Honey, you cannot learn from my mistakes. You’re going to have to go out there and make your own. Now, you could get your heart broken or you could have the greatest love affair the world has ever known, but you’re not going to know unless you try.”
16 – 50 First Dates (2004)
You’d be hard pressed to come up with a more likeable couple of people than Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. In 50 First Dates, they’re in Hawaii, and after they meet, Henry Roth (Sandler) turns from a playboy to a devoted boyfriend—the only problem is the girl of his dreams has no short-term memory, so she relives the same day over and over. This movie brings laughs, but it’s also a sappy romance movie as only Sandler can do. It’s a chick flick anyone can enjoy.
Best Quote
Dr. Keats: “Tom was in a hunting accident and he lost part of his brain. His memory lasts only ten seconds.”
Ten Second Tom: “I was in an accident? That’s terrible.”
Dr. Keats: “Don’t worry, you’ll totally get over it in about three seconds.”
15 – Slumdog Millionaire (2008)
A testament to just how far a man will go to win over the woman he loves. Slumdog Millionaire portrays a poor man being tortured by the police for being suspiciously good at Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Dev Patel plays one of the most lovable characters on film.
This compelling film won no fewer than eight Oscars and garnered a lot of critical acclaim. The mixture of love, violence, and socioeconomic messages makes for a great date night screening. It’s a great pick to watch with someone who appreciates good films and with whom you want to share an intelligent conversation.
Best Quote
Jamal Malik: “I’ll wait for you at the train station every day at five.”
14 – The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) always has problems—the media hates him, the police hate him, other superheroes hate him, and he’s constantly struggling with his love life because of it. Regardless of how you feel about the new Spider-Man series, they made the right move dropping Mary Jane for Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone). Their romance is one of the most memorable in comic book history.
Best Quote
Peter Parker: “We all have secrets: the ones we keep… and the ones that are kept from us.”
13 – The Tourist (2010) (Runner Up: Original Sin)
It’s not just that Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie are beautiful people; the location shots in Paris and Venice are simply stunning. This cat-and-mouse tale has enough thrills going for it to satisfy your intellectual needs, and it has some nail-biting action scenes to boot. You’re never quite sure who to believe, but you can’t deny there’s chemistry between the two—if there’s anyone who could steal Jolie from Pitt, Depp seems like the type.
Best Quote
Hotel Waiter Guido: “Bongiorno!”
Frank Taylor (Depp): “Bon Jovi!”
12 – This Means War (2012)
Reese Witherspoon is omnipresent in chick flicks – for good reason! All of her romantic comedies are enjoyable, but This Means War wins for mixing spy-versus-spy action into the mix. Chris Pine and Tom Hardy do a great job of keeping men distracted from Reese’s message that it’s OK to date multiple people. Adventurous couples will love this action-packed romp.
Best Quote
Trish (Chelsea Handler) “Don’t go with the better guy, go with the guy who makes you better.”
11 – (500) Days of Summer (2009)
Zooey Deschanel is that quirky and beautiful girl everyone wants to be or be with. In short, the boy (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) meets the girl (Deschanel), and falls in love, but she’s just that into him. The movie highlights their relationship in a non-linear fashion, and is a great portrayal of modern love and relationships. (500) Days of Summer isn’t your traditional romantic comedy, and maybe that’s a good thing – unlike all the others, it’s a thought-provoking film about love.
Best Quote
Rachel Hansen: “Just because she likes the same bizzaro crap you do doesn’t mean she’s your soul mate.”
10 – Walk the Line (2005)
This portrayal of Johnny and June Cash is an epic biopic. Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon beautifully capture the essence of the romance. Johnny loved June Carter so much, he knew he had to marry her. Seeing their love blossom over the course of their lives is a great way to celebrate life and a relationship with someone you truly love beyond anything. These two real life people even died around the same time. It’s said Johnny died of a broken heart after June passed.
Best Quote
June Carter: “Well, then start loving yourself, so we can go back to work.”
9 – Ghost Town (2008)
The cynical among us love Ricky Gervais. In Ghost Town, he plays a man who can see dead people and is now doomed to help them with their love problems. It’s a wonderfully unique Valentine’s Day romance story. Everyone’s tired of people bragging about their relationships on Facebook, and Gervais portrays this feeling perfectly. Love isn’t always as much fun as it sounds; sometimes, you just end up involved in other people’s drama.
Best Quote
Bertram Pincus (Gervais): “All work and no play makes Jack- a vital member of society.”
8 – Shrek (2001)
It’s hard to believe it’s been over a decade since Shrek came out (!). This is a fun, backwards fairy tale where the ogre gets the girl. Featuring the voice talents of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, and John Lithgow, Shrek is a feel-good movie that’s perfect for the young – and mature – at heart.
Best Quote
Shrek: “For your information, there’s a lot more to ogres than people think.”
7 – Seems Like Old Times (1980)
Ahhh, the classics. One of the best movies from the 80s, Seems Like Old Times is a Neil Simon film that still maintains its charm. Chevy Chase and Goldie Hawn are a divorced couple, and, after being forced to take part in a bank robbery, Chase hides out at Hawn’s house. The only problem is Hawn’s husband (Charles Groden) is the district attorney, so a lot of hijinx ensue. If you pine for an old flame, Seems Like Old Times is the Valentine’s Day romantic comedy for you.
Best Quote
Glenda (Hawn) “Chester. You just went through a stop sign.”
Chester (Chase) “I can’t help it. I don’t like to read when I drive.”
6 – About a Boy (2002)
You’d think watching a man hang out with an unrelated boy would be a little weird – and not great romantic-film fodder. But in About a Boy, it plays out beautifully. This is a buddy flick and a romance rolled into one, and it teaches men that parenting isn’t scary. If you’re a slacker who still hasn’t grown up, About a Boy is for you.
Best Quote
Marcus: “After a few visits, Will seemed to think he had to ask me serious questions, when I knew he really wanted to watch Xena Warrior princess.”
5 – True Romance (1993) (Runner Up: Natural Born Killers)
Quentin Tarantino isn’t exactly known for the romance in his films, but True Romance, which he wrote, is an epic romantic crime drama. There are drugs, hookers, and all sorts of guns. The love between Clarence (Christian Slater) and Alabama (Patricia Arquette) is something we all wish we had. By the time this movie reaches its bloody climax, not only will you be in love with Elvis, but you’ll know the origin of Sicilians.
Best Quote
Clarence Worley: “You just said you love me, now if I say I love you and just throw caution to the wind and let the chips fall where they may and you’re lying to me I’m gonna fuckin’ die.”
4 – Titanic (1997)
If you’ve never seen Titanic, you must! And if you have, consider watching it again for Valentine’s. This classic romantic-disaster film won eleven Oscars, because of its superb cast, plot, and music.
Spoiler Alert: The ship sinks, and it takes like half the movie. Before it happens though, Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) steals Rose (Kate Winslett) from her rich husband-to-be. Titanic is a tear-jerker with an epic romance that is fated to failure.
Best Quote
Jack Dawson: “Where to, Miss?”
Rose DeWitt Bukater: “To the stars.”
3 – Bride and Prejudice (2004)
This Bollywood take on the classic “Pride and Prejudice” is a musical delight. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan may not be well-known in majority-English-speaking countries, but she is beautiful and talented – her acting, singing, and dancing expertise is on full display. This movie is beautiful, tells an old story; and you’ll look sophisticated for suggesting it. The colorful costumes and set designs are like taking an exotic vacation from your couch.
Best Quote
Lalita Bakshi (Rai): “You should be stirring your husband’s dinner not trouble.”
2 – Love, Actually (2003)
Love Actually follows the intertwining stories of eight British couples dealing with love in very different ways. It’s a romantic comedy and a Christmas film, but its sappiness is matched by genuine and heartwarming moments. It’s impossible to watch this movie without laughing, crying, and falling in love with at least one character! Love Actually may be the best romantic comedy ever written.
Best Quote
Billy Mack (Bill Nighy) “Hiya kids. Here is an important message from your Uncle Bill. Don’t buy drugs. Become a pop star, and they give you them for free!”
1 – The Wolf of Wall Street (2013)
Martin Scorsese is known for his thrilling films, and Wolf of Wall Street does not disappoint. It’s a raw and emotional movie, with some violence, nudity, and drug use – all to show the underbelly of the high-octane world of finance.
