ok i put a longer post abt tim's Emotional State in drafts for when my brain is less melted but re: tim and going to college im just gonna get a lil silly with it. hear me out.

anyways. i think it's a universal experience that if you go to college and you hang with the STEM crowd, you will unfortunately get to know at least one Fucking Guy. it's like brentwood arc; tim does make friends, but there is just this One Fucking Guy he cannot stand and will never stand. this Fucking Guy is in the common room playing his guitar at midnight. he's drunk and yelling and laughing really loud when people have exams coming up. he's convinced everyone adores him. there's also a detective/supernatural plot going on. the subplot is just that tim hates This Fucking Guy.

at some point, there's a story beat where he as red robin has to rescue That Fucking Guy from a real dicey situation, and That Fucking Guy is really shaken and grateful to him, and he's like okay. maybe. maybe we are making progress. but then the next time he encounters This Fucking Guy as tim drake, the guy is just like. "ohhhh hey drake you missed it last night, it was AWESOME!!! i had to save red robin from a KILLER ROBOT. he's pretty cool though i guess. i bet you wish you could be more like him huh??" and tim is just. I Will Not Grind My Teeth About This. I Will Not. his life is a fucking joke. he dismantles the toaster oven in the common room kitchen to cope. it's definitely to cope and not just so that That Fucking Guy won't be able to heat up his pop tarts in the morning.

at another point, This Fucking Guy looks at street mode, lowkey, unremarkable Normal Car-looking redbird and goes, aw, dude, i thought your dad is loaded?? he only got you a generic-ass sedan?? that sucks lol, if you want we can take my car down to the game instead. and tim is just Say One More Fucking Word About My Baby I Dare You I Fucking Dare You One More Fucking Word.

(also i like to toy with the idea of this being a university in metropolis - he's out of gotham, but not too far. keeps him from getting antsy about what if he's needed because he can get right back over there. and in the meantime, he can hang out with kon and kara a lot, and occasionally enable and be enabled by lois lane and her snooping habits. there's another subplot in which tim and lois get up to shenanigans. at least once.)

it's sort of an introspective thing of him trying to come to terms with the way he no longer wants a fully normal life the way he always used to assume he would - he has the option to walk away from the cape now, like he always thought he would one day, but he just can't give it up anymore. he's fallen into the same black hole he watched dick and bruce dive headlong into. it's also about him finding joy in tinkering and working with his hands and getting to spend more time as tim drake first and foremost. and it's about him venting to kon about That Fucking Guy while they have a lil picnic on the green while kon loses his absolute shit laughing. all against the backdrop of a little mystery or something. <3

OH and also, most importantly. zoanne wilkins is there and laughing at him for assuming college would be easy. and kon gets her into wendy the werewolf stalker. My City Now.

Gonna start with Arthur and I think he IS a goddamn stick insect but he hasn't always been that way!! Actually for a lot of his life I think he was quite heavy and beefy, he kept himself that way on purpose and maintaining strength and the image of it was VERY important to him! He had pronounced muscles at one point and that lasted for a while! I think he started to slim down in the last couple hundred years and it was a slow enough process at first that nobody really noticed! He then lost most of his muscle mass in the last century or so and he actually quite likes his current, slim build. He doesn't exert as much exercise nor does he need the same physical strength, and Francis makes sure that he eats well whenever he's around but Arthur has a quick metabolism and weight won't really stay on him the way it used to. He doesn't mind or care, really!

Francis has a medium amount of body fat and I see him as a gorgeous mid-size monarch, but again, he wasn't always like that. I think Francis was actually quite skinny for a while and put on weight later in his life as he started making and eating better food and especially desserts! For a while and still today, because of shit beauty standards Francis has found himself insecure about his tendency to put on weight and has put himself on restrictive diets to lose it only to put it back on immediately after (since those diets do NOT work!). He's beat himself up about it before since his appearance is so important to his self image and how valuable he sees himself to be. Arthur adores his body though and thinks his curves are stunning :') In the past couple of years Francis has been much kinder to himself and his body so he is healing in that aspect!

Alfred has always been STRONNGGGG and he's always been muscular!! His current body type is a healthy combination of body fat and muscle - he's one of those guys who looks as if he has a lot of body fat and no muscle mass until he flexes and reveals the muscle mass underneath! He's obviously a big eater but he works out a lot too and overall just has a very strong but very healthy balance!

Kiku has always been lean and prefers not to be overly built up or muscular like some of the others - but he does have visible muscular structure underneath his clothes despite his otherwise slim appearance. He's broad at the shoulders too and his upper body is where most of his strength is! He tends to put on and lose weight almost seasonally, since he goes for a lot of walks and exercise in warmer months but stays in snacking and laying around in colder months!

Ludwig is just ripped, he works out, eats a rather low carb diet most of the time, and is kind of obsessed with healthy food and doing lots of exercise. He mostly lifts weights and is all muscle mass with very little fat on his body. he has big boobs

Feliciano is almost the opposite of Ludwig, he doesn't have much muscle mass at all but has a high amount of body fat! He likes to lie around, take naps, eat a loooot of pasta and similar food so his lifestyle does affect his body! He's just as healthy as anyone else though, with his round stature and squishy body :)

Yao is actually kind of muscular but not to the level of say, Lud or Alfred, he enjoys working out but also likes having a slim appearance at the same time so he is pretty buff but he's no bodybuilder...

Ivan lastly is kind of similar to Alfred where he has quite a lot of muscle mass but also a lot of body fat! His high amount of body fat helps keep him warm in winter but the combination of those two things makes him look as if he's built like a brick wall and definitely adds to the overall massive feel that he has to him!!

I think wish you back, like volcano, contains a deeper meaning besides missing a lover. THE ENTIRE SONG IS A EUPHEMISM FOR WANTING YOUR OLD/CHILDHOOD SELF BACK SHSHDJDJEK TELL ME IM WRONG

firstly, the chorus. "you were my story" is his younger self, his past self, which is why it's his story - it's his life. he gathers those memories and looks at the photographs of him when he was younger, and cherishes them because he can't go back. he's reminiscing about the past, the good times that he once had, when he had no worries and was happy.

the first verse is even more obvious: maybe he's going through something, or in the process of growing up, he slowly lost the sense of carefreeness and happiness he once had. and it makes him think back to those times when he still had those feelings. he wonders if he'll lose that memory, too. "put your small hands together" is an even more obvious hint that he was a kid then. "in the days when every moment was beautiful and splendid" is EXACTLY the feeling you have as a child where you're not consumed by worries and anxiety. "you were the main character in the movie called me" JUST CONFIRMS IT. because ONLY HIS PAST SELF CAN BE THE MAIN CHARACTER OF HIS MOVIE AHSJEKKEKE

and he says that even if he travels around the world, fill his mind with other thoughts, he can't outrun it, because this feeling is inside of him. he can't escape it.

he wishes his old self back. he's tired of "sitting in a room all day long and turning off the light". he doesn't feel okay, but he knows that he can't go back to the past. you can't rewind time, and even though maybe his past self made a promise to himself to not be defeated, it falls forfeit when he had to say goodbye to his past self as he grew up.

and even though he knows this, he's still holding out for a chance that one day, he can be as happy and carefree as his past self was again. he looks at the picture of his younger self and himself right now, and he wants to be able to see himself smile so brightly again in the mirror. he doesn't want to feel this way anymore. so he holds out hope, and waits.
