I want to request like. A cuddling session with Slenderman, who is having a bad day and we comfort him
(つ≧▽≦)つ
I'm addicted to the idea of him pretending to be okay with people calling him monster, but deep down he has this longing for it to stop, since he wanted to get along with the proxies and others he deemed second family.
So he like, rant about his day while reader comfort him.
Maybe get him a little fluster aswell (〜^∇^ )〜
(Take your time and have a good day/night)
All Entwined in One Web
obligatory im stuck in the 2015 era of the creepypasta fandom and ive been mulling over this sort of approach in my head for the past month because i revisited an old slenderman x oc fanfic that had a death grip on me and shaped the way i will interact with + and consume creepypasta stuff for the sake of saving grace and not revealing HOW cringe i was im not going to drop the fanfic name (unless yall dm me because!! i still wanna support the author even if it seems theyre inactive now!) i blame this author for making me a demon sympathizer/j/lh written kinda different than my basic bullet list of hcs! got silly with this one, sorry if its jarring compared to my usual stuff </3 this post is mostly just my hc on like. slender (and by extension all demon characters) being neutral and a simple part of nature that stems from zalgo (yay im finally dropping zalgo lore for my au since he functions differently in my au/hc!!) so take this with a HUGE grain of salt since i feel this deters from the main take people use (that ive seen, at least) this one ended up being more.. sad than i first intended and imma be honest i kinda got into my feelings when i was writing this anywaus i hope this isnt too cringe since i dont talk much about my HUGEhcs/au stuff/rewritten stuff so!! plus i dont usually write BIG detailed stuff like this sobsob tldr; slenderman isnt good or evil hes just a neutral piece of nature in the world and hes trying to cope with it. the demon gods really fucked up by making him sentient and able to process human like emotions
Tumblr media
death is a force of nature and people curse it for simply being a part of life; people curse wild animals for being, and people will curse the weather
in this universe, or timeline, demons exist in a similar manner. slenderman exists simply because hes a part of that huge web of nature. of course, that includes every single ugly instinct that humans hate so so much. and he can understand why, even if its his nature.
the one responsible for that web, is zalgo. the beginning and end of everything. neither alive nor dead, all demons stem from zalgo in one way or another.
a solitary creature that prefers to stay alone in the comfort of its home, it doesnt tend to reach out to harm others unless theres harm. only really attacking people that threaten to expose it or get too close...
except, you... you were the one exception. regardless of how you managed to worm yourself into his heart, and become his lifelong companion, hes grateful for your presence when things begin to build up.
he knows that in the eyes of others, he ugly and vile, but he knows that ultimately thats what protects him. he insists that its better this way, sticking to the forest away from the prying eyes.
SURE, he could follow in his brothers footsteps and make a false human body and try to blend in with the people. but is that really efficient? is that really something he wants? hes a powerful being but that would eventually take its toll on him..
ultimately he resigns himself into your arms; once oozing powerful and command, now crumpled and curled.
he never had a childhood, when zalgo created him, he simply.
was
no adolescence, no developing, no growing. he was always what he was meant to be, but he likes to think that when youre holding him, that this is what it feels like to be so small and vulnerable.
humans had it so easy, hed think. theyre born and they die and the process repeats itself for everyone. they dont have to be feared or hated, or kill to survive.
yes, to him, being mortal was far more preferable to being condemned to being a lonely hermit who corrupts and breaks everything it touches.
even with your comfort, theres only so much that you can do; youll eventually pass on as well and hell be stuck in his cycle once more
but for now, as you hum softly and whisper nothings to him as you let him crumble; hell let himself weep just this once.
because as much as he envies your life, and what humans have, he cant deny that he cant bring himself to truly hate them, because like him, theyre simply a piece of natures web.

hi, this is not something that i usually post, but I'd like to get it off from my chest since ive kept this for quite a long time and talking it on tumblr is my only hope to do so.
please don't stop talking about Palestine.
no matter where I go, what social media that i use, there are always consistently something that has been preventing me and thousands of others from speaking out our voices, and to my surprise, even ROBLOX. FUCKING ROBLOX. IS A VICTIM OF THIS.
STOP SILENCING OUR VOICES. STOP LYING TO THE PEOPLE FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR PATHETIC BLOOD MONEY WHEN INNOCENT CIVILIANS AND LOVING MOTHERS HAVE SUFFERED IN THIS GENOCIDE.
thousands and hundreds of money wasted for the sake of war instead of using it to help the homeless and those who are in need. Do you think the world is a big stage for you to sit down in your air conditioned room while crossing your legs on the couch, while watching others suffer?
I have never been more UPSET to see how selfish and brutal these "people" are, calling palestinians "human animals" and saying they are savages while hamas are terrorists when theyve released hostages, and have done nothing but be nice to the said hostages. WHILE THE WHITE AND BLUE STATE REFUSES TO TAKE THE SAID HOSTAGES BACK.
I am unable to speak with such anger and show my frustrations elsewhere, as that'll only result in my socials being banned or shadow banned. I've seen this story play itself out more times than one might assume, as i observed from afar just to see what people all around the world treat muslims and islam itself. It is different, I grew up in a country where a vast majority are muslims while other religions can peacefully coexist.
I grew up hearing about palestine and gaza ever since I was in elementary school. Malaysia has tried to speak upon this but perhaps at that time, people just didn't care enough or, our voices were silenced.
I've seen white men fighting against defenseless nations. I've seen westerners blaming how islam teaches its followers horrible things. I've seen americans calling countless muslims as terrorists. But i have yet to see anyone, LITERALLY anyone calling the one who is in the wrong the actual terroist.
"I'm not educated enough to talk about this!"
THEN EDUCATE YOURSELF.
"This doesn't affect me"
THEN EDUCATE YOURSELF.
"Both are in the wrong and it has nothing to do with me nor my country"
If you as human are willing to defend genocide and "stay neutral", you are a coward to wake up and face reality. You called us terrorists as if it's a word that can easily be used whenever you like. And why again, are these white supremacists fighting against people who have no army and are defenseless in power? Is it perhaps they as well are afraid if they go for a bigger target who has the same, equal power as them?
THIS IS A PUBLIC GENOCIDE, THEY WANT TO WIPE PALESTINE OFF THE MAP. EDUCATE YOURSELF.
I've seen a loooot of isnotreal dick riders, and willing to go on lengths of texts just to justify genocide... do you get paid to do so? do you feel a sense of relief by wasting your time instead of doing something more useful and educational? Or are you turning a blind eye to the real problem? Your eyes are clear as skies, but your heart is an empty void of ignorance.
I am tired of staying silent for long. How many lives would it take until it will make people finally be aware? Once a colonizer, you are always a colonizer. From the river to the sea, palestine will be free. I was a young and clueless girl when i first heard this story. But I've grown and learned the hard ways of life and its rules. this time, i will not stay silent.
this time, i will not let my voice go unspoken
and this time, i will keep on fighting and spread awareness about palestine and the thousands of years that they have suffered.
If you burn, you'll burn with us.

Hey uhh sorry to bother you again but can you do motherly MC again mmbut she dies?
Also love your work your an amazing writer!♥️
janskdndis ur gonna kill me!! oh and you're never a bother, i love seeing people in my asks no matter who they are. and thank you!! i appreciate it!! :)) the angst is incoming haha watch out. also sorry this took so long ive been trying to finish school and now im done!! yeahh!! aight enjoy babs thank you <3
motherly! mc, dearly departed from this world. warning: kinda fucking sad haha
sure, the demons, angels and solomon had all been alive for thousands of years.
they'd experienced sadness.
the fall, the death of lilith, day-to-day sadness, but nothing hit quite like this.
lucifer handles your death with the most honour.
he stands over your casket, stood tall, forlorn, fixing the rich wood with a crestfallen expression.
only when it's time to lower your casket into the ground does he finally break, crumble, sink to the ground and just sob.
there's nothing he can do but cry as his favourite human says goodbye one final time.
collecting himself, he'd lead the throwing of the flowers onto your casket and wouldn't dare take his eyes off of it until it was no longer visible.
it breaks him. he worked hard to achieve happiness again, after the fall, after lilith, and you gave that to him.
and now, you were gone.
the universe truly was cruel.
mammon would be beside himself. he might go a little mad. pretending that you're still with them, that you're still by his side.
but when he sees that casket, he knows it's all a lie.
for once he doesn't put a front up. he just sniffles and whimpers through the whole ceremony, the first to comfort lucifer when he crumbles.
life ain't worth living with MC, he tells himself, but for the sake of his brothers he carries on.
your possessions are the most valuable thing he owns. after your death, there's not a piece of grimm more valuable than something that had belonged to you.
he guards your memory more diligently than Cerberus guards the catacombs, and when the day comes that he joins you, he'll only hope you accept him with open arms.
levi never was good with the prospect of death.
lilith's death changed him, truly. and your death changed him again.
he didn't care for games much. he could scarcely recall anime titles. he even forgot to feed Henry 2.0 once.
he spends most of his days now at sea, with hell's navy. he devotes himself to militarism, trying to distract himself from remembering the way you used to make him get enough sleep, or encourage him to finish one more level.
at times, he can't forget.
he sits in his bathtub till the late hours of the morning, even though it's something you disliked. just crying, silent tears.
he tries to cope, but it's hard. death really does change people.
satan is consumed by his books.
he becomes scarily interested in necromancy and reanimation. he can't find anything, though, so he turns to reincarnation. looking through the record of every soul to enter heaven or hell, he wants to find you.
it's actually easier for him to accept your death than anyone else. he was probably the only one who remembered your mortality, and appreciated it.
just as he appreciated the way you cleared his desk for him, procuring cutesy bookmarks to save his page when he fell asleep with a tome.
during long, quiet nights, he sits down with a special book- an autobiography he had inked especially for you.
a few tears may be shed as he thinks back fondly, focusing on the good as opposed to dwelling on the bad.
he'll find your soul eventually, he knows he will. but for now, he's content to just remember you in peace.
it's what you would have wanted.
asmo becomes a hollow shell of what he once was. you were the life of his party, and now you were gone!
he's enraged mostly, how could you leave him?? after all you did together?! you'd just fucking leave him alone! was he too ugly? he could change! he'll change but please please please just come back, please!!
he doesn't care who sees. his cries are loud, ugly, salty tears and snot ruining his silken sheets as he wails.
breathing carefully, the way you taught him to, he finally calms down.
he'll do things the way you showed him- strip the bed, put the linen in the wash. wash your face, nothing too harsh and get a nice drink. paint your nails, wear a facemask, do something nice that you enjoy.
he can't be perfect when his other half is gone. sure, he's got solomon, but it's not the same. you were different. you were you.
beel ignores his sin. he's not hungry anymore. he doesn't want the food he's given, though his stomach growls, just the thought of eating food without you makes him want to throw up.
he feels as though he's failed- despite everyone reassuring him otherwise - he couldn't protect you.
what was he, if not a protector? nothing. he felt small.
he really lost himself, but eventually, under the guise of 'its what MC would have wanted you to do.' he gets his appetite back.
he finds solace in making your favourite foods, and leaving them at your grave. hopefully one day you can eat them together again. that'd be nice.
belphie, unlike beel, amplifies his sin. he turns to it, knowing that he can see you in his dreams.
it's rare for him to be anything other than comatose, only occasionally waking up to eat and wash. he knows you would have expected better from him, but he also hopes that you'd understand.
he needs this, just like he needs you. sometimes he wonders if he should join you, but he knows that that's not the correct answer.
so for now, he'll sleep, and cry happy tears as he sees you on the astral plane, and cry sad tears as he awakes and feels the empty bed beside him.

getting into toki pona. heres how i personally write my name in its glyphs (sitelen pona????????), somoli Sakaletu (scarlet) as well as my reasoning as to why. (theres lots of baggage behind it)
Tumblr media
first off, somoli isnt an actual word in toki pona, rather a combination of soweli (animal) n moli (dead), which i imagine means carcass or roadkill. ive seen myself as something other than human for as long as i can remember, just never had the words for it until like 2022. the death part refers to the trauma which likely contributed to my disconnection from humanity, i interpret myself as an animal caged into a human meatshield against my will, n ive tried to end things several times. in toki pona, your name typically starts wit "jan" (person), but i use somoli instead for reasons described earlier. in this context, jan is used as a prefix that alerts the reader that a name is coming up, the actual name is whats boxed after it.
to toki ponize your name, you roughly translate it using the sheet of valid syllables, then pick out glyphs that start wit each letter, like an anagram. (suwi ala kon ala lete e tenpo uta = sakaletu)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i picked each glyph based on the connotations their meanings have to specifically. sweet (suwi) as in forced optimism, ala (no) as in denial//suppression of the self, kon (air) n lete (cold) as in cold weather, e (object) as in being treated like one, tenpo (time) as in anxiety of the future, n uta (mouth) as in being verbally abused all my life. i know i prolly shouldnt be putting this much thought into a silly internet language but whatever
then i stylized each symbol to more accurately reflect myself, ex adding emo hair to the face, making the weather symbol into a thunderbolt........ i also changed the ala to ale (all) for the sake of distinguishing it from lete, as the cross (ala) is very similar to the snowflake (lete). im aware it might not be readable without the knowledge of all this, hence why i try to put it alongside the written form.
Tumblr media
so yeah theres that //_- somoli Sakaletu signing out

I have a string feeling this summer is gonna be the one usually previous summers ik even if i have no plans plannified, summer is still gonna turn out really good as i dont study, reunite w my family(especially my cousins) sleep over at their house they sleep over ours, sleep late, wake up late, go to the beach, the sun, getting tanned, losing weight, n its all good vibes especially at night its really animated at night n its really positive vibes out there its jus life, but this one in particular, i will not feel like i have to study but im not doing it, this one im done with my 2 years journey n im passing my exams this may-june, n ill forget n start a new beginning on september, so i wouldnt have to study for sht as its a fresh new start, im getting my first laptop (the old ones are really old n i gave up on them this would be a sofisticated one n id feel up to date with something modern), im starting my journey, i would work out 5 days a week, swim, idk about sleeping early as its nearly unbelievable to do especially that my family is over, id jus feel mentally overall free tbh, focus on building my career for 2 months straight, i would probably also have a new room w my sister so id feel better environment wise, n i would carry my laptop almost everywhere i go, for the sake of motivation n variation in my environment i would work 70% of the time away from home n home would be my confort zone, but just to not feel overwhelmed, stressed n “i hate myself so much” i would workout, shower (away from home), n then walk or by car go to a public place such as a cafe, mall, library,… in order to be away from home n still got this motivation, work for like 2 hours n get back home n do something different such as practicing guitar n i would really love to spend more time w people (which is something i automatically do a lot during summer as i dont got school n feel overall more confident of myself n open to people) so this time this feeling would be more, when i say that id be my cousins, mom, dad, grandparents, i would also like to go out w people from my school which i really dont talk to that much n be as human as possible with them n thats really it
•so id do all the productive sht i would need to get done when im by my own in the beginning of the day, with that being said id have to wake up early, n then for the rest of the day my time would be more flexible n i can do more enjoyable stuff for example hanging out with people once my everyday work was done earlier in the day
N thats really it
I wanna get back to this the last day of my exam
•get a laptop
•being satisfied with the way ive done my exams
•(optional: having material)
•not gave up on working out

ive been wondering for a while as to what crona is supposed to be. as in , being the child of a witch and presumably a human - what does it make them?
medusa was a witch and the mother of crona , and before being introduced to free , the reader and viewer are shown that the witch race consists of only women. meaning , medusa would have had to have a child with a human man , considering that crona is considered a human and not a witch
((free is classified as a witch because of his demon eye and his soul is an amalgamation of multiple things , including witch. but he's a human and werewolf , and thus the witch race does consist of only women))
but , claiming crona is only a human raises questions in my mind , considering that their mother is a witch , and even has two aunts who are also witches. if crona is to be human at all , medusa would have had to have a child with a human man. which makes me want to point out the color of their soul in comparison to other soul types.
you have human souls , which are light blue , almost white
Tumblr media
kishin egg souls , which are red with a darker core color , and dark red honeycomb-like patterns on them
Tumblr media
and witch souls , which are purple. monsters , such as blair , share the same soul color , despite not being witches ((very similar to witches in that they possess magic abilities and can transform into animals , but they are not witches))
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
but crona’s soul is none of these colors
instead, crona’s soul is pink!
Tumblr media
considering the parents crona would have had to have in order to have a witch mother but be considered a human child , and that crona’s soul is neither the purple of a witch’s soul or the light blue of a human soul , ive always thought this meant that crona would have to be half-witch , half-human
there's multiple reasons why i think there’s a lack of acknowledging crona being a witch at all
first of all , they're the child of medusa. already not seeing her child as a person at all and merely just a tool , she'd be the last to acknowledge the witch ancestry they have , as she'd refuse to want to see them as anything like herself. none of the other witches seem to see the ‘witch’ in crona at all either , considering how eruka talked to medusa at the witch mass about turning crona into a kishin
secondly , crona lacks any witch-like or magical abilities. crona’s abilities center around their black blood and skilled swordsmanship , but they possess no magic. the closest to any witch-like abilities that they have is the black dragon , although , they cannot physically turn into a dragon. they can only create dragon-like wings using the black blood , and ragnarok can turn himself into something that looks similar to that of a dragon ((the black dragon))
lastly , crona does not have the appearance of a witch. witches tend to have an animal theme to them , with visual hints as to what animal they are supposed to be in their appearance , even in just their names. however , except for the black dragon , crona has no hints in their appearance that they have any kind of witch ancestry to them at all
despite all this , i think that crona is biologically half-witch , half-human. but inherited more from their human father rather than their witch mother
for their own sake , im certain crona would forget or actively try to not remember that they have any witch blood in them at all , and would thus say they are a human ((especially since witches have a bad reputation , and associating with witches or even being a witch at all is extremely dangerous with the dwma and humans , who fear witches or reap their souls without mercy. the academy itself encourages the reaping of witch souls so meisters can turn their weapon partners into death weapons. mentioning their witch blood or being part witch could put crona in danger with various people))
final note:
i know in episode 45 , crona’s soul was shown as blue
Tumblr media
i dont exactly have an explanation for this , since every other time that they show their soul , it is its magenta color.
honestly i just assumed they can switch between the two. it could also be an error and colored this way to make it work for the scene , as dtk’s soul is always colored blue when it should be colored yellow due to him being a grim reaper ((thee grim reaper himself , lord death , has a yellow soul as well))
uhh i dont know how to finish ramblings . the end , thanks for reading ((add on anything if i missed something or got any details wrong!))

ive been a little frustrated in these latter years of my fine arts major because theres this weird... contradiction? discrepancy? something like that...
but like i've got like only two modes of making art really: 1) fuck around mode and 2) drawing my ocs like im a 10 year old on deviantart in 2008 mode AND LIKE okay Fuck Around Mode is just like. trying weird techniques for the sake of trying weird techniques - its very fun and i learn a lot that can be incorporated into the second mode and i mean i like the things i make in Fuck Around Mode they're nice and neat but like. theres no passion behind it except for THE PASSION OF THE GAME..... you know? im just playing ball with that art, i don't think all that much about my Fuck Around Mode pieces after im done making them until i need something for a portfolio or something LOL and to be honest i dont put all that much effort into it.....
but that leads into my '08 OC Mode where i do, in fact, pour my entire heart and soul in making images and pieces of art..... of just like an edgy angel oc or something. i do include techniques from Fuck Around Mode so they often get pretty interesting! but the subject of the piece is no longer "I Don't Really Care I Just Want To see What Happens If I Do This" and is instead. an anime boy i made up when i was 19. and i really do love the work i make in this mode, it means so much to me truly
but this is where the discrepancy i havent been able to grapple with quite yet comes in: to the IRL layman and to the citizens of the internet, both professional artists and otherwise, my '08 OC Mode is pretty strongly engaged with compared to any Fuck Around Mode stuff i put out there, even if people dont like it they take it seriously and earnestly you know!! but the second i step into school its the opposite - my teachers and peers seem to adore the Fuck Around pieces and many Do Not give a shit about the rest until i really push em to actually look at them.... its kind of bizarre.
i like getting critiques and i like when people interpret my art in whatever ways but its a bit frustrating when instead of giving useful advice on what to improve technically or compositionally or whatever i just get people ascribing passion and personal intent at art where there is very little.
where was that post of the comic where someones showing their art with all their heart and the other person says "this lacks truth" and the first person beats them up. i do feel a little like that LOL
i know not everything i make will always be effective at conveying the personal truths i put in to them, and effort put in does not have to equal an audience resonating with a piece: 2 minute doodle getting a million views and a 4 hour painting getting like 3 max online is a tale as old as time after all and i never minded it LOL i kind of post art on the internet using the same method as the wonderful ms paint fetish artist on deviantart who has been posting for 15 years without fail -> just keep posting what i do and what i like whenever i feel like it and whoever is interested will find me sooner or later <3
but it is a different feeling getting the IRL academic equivalent of this...... maybe its just the way the community in my faculty has been shifting? I've noticed there is like, an assumption, a bit among my undergraduate peers but mostly among professors and graduate students, that the reason one makes art is because they have something specific, clear, and pointed to tell the world. i do not make art because of that. i make art because i need to get it out of me.
i like it if a viewer can get something out of it, anything, whatever it is. im a big loud alien beast of a person like everyone else, desperate for connection and understanding only to be stopped by the barriers between molecules and atoms and everything as usual. but still i cannot make art with the intention to connect with others, with the express goal and desire to understand and converse and comprehend. i can only draw a cartoon character shoulders up facing three-quarters to the left.

Hot take: if a person agrees that logic is a generally correct problem solving methodology, and yet fails to deny any of these postulates as true, then they will have to accept capitalism is inherently 'evil', and that a collectivism is the only way to not literally all die in the anthropocene.
Yes, that statement implies I am attempting to write a mathematical/scientific proof which can undeniably be used to deconstruct every capitalist argument. Deal with it. Still a draft, but I'm posting because its already long. Feel free to give suggestions. No, please give me suggestions
I actually believe this might work, because convincing irrational people that their arguments are fallacies is bascially what cognitive behavioral therapy is all about
Content included in discussion: death, sustainability, good, evil, (more to come)
1. All life is precious.
-Precious can be defined different ways but its important to use this term, and I think to me what it means is that we must grieve any loss of life. Grief is not easily defined, but this is an absolute rule to follow.
Precisely defining grieve as the philosophy sees it is on my to-write list
-Its still not clear what life is either, so when doubt exists we should assume something is alive. This is because I really believe it's a fallacy, a punch to the face, to deny public discourse its chance to run its course if there is any shadow of a doubt. Science believes all answers must be sought out over a period of time, and to never stop questioning
------------
2. All 'non-life' is precious too
-because every resource is, in fact, finite in the universe. And we want to keep sustaining the entire universe as long as possible so we should assume every resource is absolutely finite in case there is any shadow of a doubt of a resource being 'infinite'.
-this argument, for purposes of this argument, is not seeking to define life. Atoms seem to me like they are also alive, okay? I think its more about using what most people can commonly understand as life, and reinforcing that both are precious. Its just easier for people to agree that 'life' is precious first, than use that first assumption to prove this second one
-we can prove that 'non-life', as might be commonly defined, is inherently essential to our survival. Best evidence is global warming, so a million things to go on there.
I believe these arguments prove we can apply our argument of things being 'precious' to 'non-life', using our 1st postulate and knowledge of the universe, as well as effects of global warming, to prove the 2nd postulate is true too
------------------
If all life is precious, and we grieve, it really starts to raise some 'why' questions, doesnt it?
------------------
3. Homo sapien sapiens are inherently empathetic creatures, and so are other animals that exhibit provable signs of empathy
-Defining empathy is hard. What's hard is that we all know what it feels like to 'experience' empathy, but feelings are hard to communicate. Will come back to this
- It is possible, although not proven, that because of genetic mutations a person might possibly be born without actual empathy.
-Christians call this type of person the anti-christ, a literal spawn of satan. Does the literal spawn of satan exist on earth? We don't know, we haven't proven it yet.
-Ive thought a lot about if my 3rd postulate should be thrown out by basis of example of people being, well. Fucking 'evil' with their actions. People make me sick sometimes.
-But I think it's important to at least acknowledge for arguments sake that a baby cannot be evil. That would be a scary goddamn baby. Humans are not, by 'nature', an 'evil creature'
In case some weirdo says a baby is evil-- It is a fallacy to believe a baby is born evil, because if all 'evil' people should be 'locked up' as I think most people would agree, than believing a baby is evil would make a person argue for locking babies up.
That notion sounds fucking evil to me dude idk about you
--------------
So-- why do humans act evil if they are not born evil? (Such as my hypothetically baby-locking-up person)
--------------
4. Homo sapien sapien's are capable of learning to be 'evil' as basically any point from birth until death, but at varying speeds of learning of course
-I have to define evil now. That's hard. What's even harder is that we all know what evil feels like. I think theres probably a million evil things in the world I can point out. All of those things would be evidence that there is evil in the world, however it would not give us a framework for determining evil
- I'm actually going to come back to this one. I think I'm satisfied, for now, in saying that most people who read this will know, intuitively, what evil feels like
-I guess I should double back and reinforce that my #4 postulate is true by example. Humans are not born evil, but we do see evil humans in the world, therefore, it follows that humans must learn at some point in their life to be evil
‐----------
5. Humans can learn to be 'good'
-Same issue with defining 'good' as with 'evil'. Yatta yatta, we all know what good feels like, I'll finish defining the framework later in the argument & fix this quick explanation later
-If someone doesnt support this notion, than they must also support the notion that 'therapy doesnt work', or more specifically, that there is such thing as a person who is 'untreatable' by therapy
-I do not believe the above is true, that a person 'cant change', and trust me when I say I am soooo confident about this. My proof is by example: "have you ever met a person ever, who didnt change in any way"?
-Because if you have not ever met such a person, as in a person who has never, ever changed their belief once, than there is no evidence by example that any person 'cant change'.
Every person you have ever met, that has changed at least once, is a key bit of evidence in support of postulate #5. Without evidence of people who have never changed, it becomes clear where the majority of evidence lies.
--------------
6. Being efficient is better for society than being non efficient
-i felt weird just writing that down and thinking someone would disagree-- but here we are in the year-of-our-lord-arguing-2024
- I dont feel like justifying this postulate now, but I need to soon because it's one of the pieces of my proof
-evidence by example is the way to go here. If you pick the right examples, it would be really hard for a person to obviously, sensibly tell you that 'more waste' is better than 'less waste'.
‐-----------
7. Collective intelligence is greater than individual intelligence
-mountains of evidence-- democracy being everyone's easiest to think about, if they dont already agree
-heres my thought-experiment evidence:
-"Is it possible, that if we sent a human baby out in space, never to interact with us again, that it would figure out all of scientific thought? Every single advancement in science would be re-created by this baby in a spaceship?"
-"no, that is probably impossible. It is almost certain that baby would die within its first week, and definitely unimaginable to assume this baby would figure out its way back to earth and be the greatest thinker to ever exist"
-I argue that if you believe that an individual always knows better than a collective, you must also support my idea of an evil-genius-spaceship-baby
-that should clear up most dissent to this 7th postulate
---------
---------
Time to get even wilder. I was raised Christian. I am not anymore. Please forgive me for using only Christian terms I'm familiar with for this next discussion. I'm trying to reconcile the ideals of Christians with the ideals of socialism.
I do think most of the Christian ideals are logical, and common sense. That is to say that these ideals reconcile with my overall framework here.
I also think theres a few really toxic parts of Christianity that can be scrutinized, and logically thrown out from our philosophical framework under false assumptions or something else. Lets give it a shot
8. No one, single mortal man is 'God' on Earth
-I define God as any being which is 'absolutely omnipotent, all powerful, and of probably infinite lifespan'
-the idea of jesus doesnt break this argument because, as I believe, the ideology goes that Jesus was not 'God' while on Earth, but merely a mortal man who wanted to join God up above. So if anything, believing in Jesus supports this idea because even that fucker wasnt God either while walking the Earth
-For all of us that, like me, arent Christian, let me explain why I believe this argument is still very true to us
-let me say first that I only became comfortable, personally, with a lot of the reasons for why the bible says what it says about God, only when I thought of it this way
-God isnt real. As in, there is not a literal, physical magical wizard flying in space who can wave a wand and make shit happen.
-God is, in fact, a theoretical ideal of what human enlightenment looks like which was thought up several millenia ago, and has since throughout history been misinterpreted (probably from lack of available evidence), and blended with the ideals of 'Satan', or 'Evil'. And I really think, the more I look at it this way, that the more things make sense.
-When you think of God as being the exact same thing as enlightenment idealogy, it helps our postulate by fitting it with the saying "no one is free until we are all free".
------------
-which is to say, no one mortal man is God on earth until we all can become 'Gods' on earth, i.e. fully, absolutely enlightened
-god how well this framework, just, well... works
- Heaven: conceptual place where enlightened society can exist
- Hell: conceptual place where the anti-thesis to enlightened society exists
-Earth: conceptual place where humans learn to become enlightened
Guys lemme just say now-- its becoming clearer and clearer to me that we can actually disprove all non-enlightment ideals as literally "Satanist", and then argue for our point better than most Christians--because it makes logical sense given the additional information, the collective evidence of science & history, which society holds today
-Most 'bad ideals' that christians have make more sense if you think of the fact that every christian institution has been led by a 'prophet', who nobody can actually prove if they are acting in their own self interest, or 'God's'
-time for another postulate number I think
---------
9. It is impossible to prove that such a person exists on Earth who is acting as a 'sole communicator for God', i.e. a prophet
-people say they are prophets all the time. People lie
-actually, you know who lies best? Satan. Satan lies really really well, according to the Bible.
-theres more here to write about. I think I want to expand on the idea that you can prove that the behaviors of a prophet better aligns with Satanist ideals, than Godly ones, because of the withholding of information that is provable among prophets throughout history
-if a prophet does not provide its collective society with all possible information, than it is a fallacy to accept both the principles of an informed democracy, and also that a prophet for 'God' can exist on Earth
-it is NOT a fallacy to support the ideals of democracy and also that a prophet for 'Satan' does exist and it lies to people and says its supporting 'Godly' notion
-it is also NOT a fallacy to support the notion of a facist dictatorship, and also the idea of a prophet for God existing. Important point here that someone can easily hold these two beliefs and they dont contradict each other, unlike with democracy ideals
-guys I just now understood the holy trinity: God (collective intelligence, logic, absolute truth); Holy Spirit (our very valid feelings about our beliefs); Jesus (individuals more enlightened than us, who teach & bring us closer to God)
-however, as I should point out. I am firmly not a christian. I am ex-mormon. I am trying to reconcile the beliefs of a Christian with my own, by dismissing certain beliefs as fallacy, and redefining what I need to, until it works out
-the way I see it, Ive pretty firmly solidified my own notion, that Chrisitan beliefs are firmly socialist. I read the top of my post and realize I still need to finish all the way back up to Capitalism
---------
END OF FIRST POSTULATE SET
Time for supporting evidence of the 'master postulates' of this theorum. I should point out that these bits of evidence are also, in fact, postulates which much be scrutinized under the same framework. However, I am drawing a line as I think the ones about here are more umbrella postulates, while I'm starting to get more specific
6. Global warming is a urgent, life threatening issue to humans
-I mentioned global warming above, so I realized that yes, a person does need to believe in this idea, as its the biggest supporting evidence of postulate #2, which is a key part of my overall argument
-however, a person does not need to say they agree to global warming 'at first glace'. They only need to agree with global warming when its under the definition I use below
-I define global warming, for the sake of this argument, as "human worsened climate". I really think thats a more accurate framing of the issue at hand with global warming.
-So for my argument I only need someone who can agree both that humans are not optimally living in our environment, as in we are 'harming' our environment, and they agree that this is an issue which is starting to affect us every day (natural disasters from weakening jet stream)
-once all of these
Climate is complex, and no one issues creates everything is does, but it is undeniable to me

That Slay the Princess X FNaF crossover but it's just me thinking about how different versions of The Princess would interact with anyone else but The Hero
Thinking about the Slay the Princess X FNaF crossover a bit more (as a placeholder, it'll be called "Chapter II: Mechanically Broken" until I either think of something better or decide it sticks). I've settled on Michael being the first person to actually meet The Princess after the two accidental multiverse travelers end up somewhere they obviously aren't meant to be.
Since The Princess is away from The Hero for a lot of the time and almost all of Chapters II through IV are on the table, it gives me some room to think of how each version of her would interact with people other than our favorite eldritch crow man.
Quick preface to all of these, but if I do decide to write this random AU into a fanfic or something, the only character The Princess could (not every version of her obviously) feel anything romantic for would be The Hero. It just makes more sense to me that way.
Anyone is also free to remove the crossover AU elements to this post and just use the characterizations I got for all of them! No need to even credit anything, this is general stuff.
Chapter II Princesses
The Nightmare
Like with a lot of other Chapter II Princesses, The Nightmare's Aura of Organ Failure doesn't work on anyone except The Hero. She's a bit surprised at this but at least there's other ways to spread fear out there.
As I just mentioned with fear, she wants to be feared. The Nightmare probably looks at pre-Bite of '83 Mike with a sort of awe that he has his brother so afraid he's crying on the floor half the time (not saying that's good, but she sees it as such).
She doesn't want to kill anyone for the sake of killing, but if it'll make her feared, she'll do it. Her Aura of Organ Failure may not work on most normal human people here, but The Nightmare can find a way around it should the need arise.
The Stranger
Still shaken from the whole "the universe collapsed and now I'm like 5 different versions of the same person all smashed into one entity" thing.
After that, it's each of them pretty act like The Hero and all the Voices: each considering all the options and choosing whatever seems best for them to keep their 5 melded heads (albeit they're probably much more functional since they each control part of the body and actively must work together).
Each Princess making up The Stranger has different views and experiences with killing. I'm not about to rattle them all off, if you've seen a playthrough of this route you'll probably be able to tell which is which.
The Damsel
I was actually considering having The Damsel be flirty, but since her adoration for The Hero is based on him trying to rescue her, it makes more sense for her to be desperately searching for her beloved.
She probably trusts people much too easily. Very naive, and a bit of a doormat. When it comes to anyone except The Hero, she's a bit more capable of questioning things, but it's still The Damsel in there: enough pushing and she'll probably agree. She's pretty much a big child.
The Damsel doesn't want to kill anyone, and it's not like she would know how to do so effectively if she had to.
The Witch
No "crushing everyone to death with roots" here, sorry. Pretty sure you'd enjoy the concept of someone you hate dying in a springlock suit, though.
Outside of her willingness to betray those she knows she can't trust, The Witch's probably pretty mischievous. It's purely my own thinking though, but showing us she could slip that chain off her wrist with a smug look on her face really made me think that.
The Witch would definitely kill those she believes will betray her. And if there seems to be no way to do so, she will find one.
The Beast
Being an intelligent-but-still-feral animal, she'd at least be willing to talk. But as soon as you're a threat, you're dead. The Beast also probably has a chase instinct so maybe don't run away from her.
The Beast can and would and could kill someone should the need arise. And that need is probably that she just got hungry.
The Spectre
While she can't rip anyone's heart clean out of their body outside of The Hero, her reaching her hand into anyone else's living body would probably have some effects. Could probably be fatal depending on which organ and what condition it was already in.
She's snarky and a bit playful. While she wouldn't call anyone outside The Hero "killer", The Spectre would probably find some similar name for another person. Plus, she hates being alone. Even if she's not trapped in the basement of the cabin in this universe, it's like she remembers what it was like in there.
Might be able to kill someone. Definitely could kill The Hero with her usual heart-crushing move, but not anyone else since she doesn't seem able to interact much with solid matter past that.
The Razor
Since The Razor doesn't change much throughout her many chapters, this will apply to all of them.
Don't even try to be friendly with her. All The Razor wants is your blood all over her sharp hands (and body, if she decides to reveal that). She doesn't care about competition as much, although the thrill of battle does get to her like it does with The Adversary.
A very one-note character. While The Stranger seems to be the true parallel to The Razor, I see some similarities in The Damsel in the way she slams into you and breaks herself in doing so during The Empty Cup. Her bloodlust is the only trait she truly has, and once she has nothing to hurt (and gets injured herself), she panics. The Razor is just so desperate to cause pain and death that she will self-destruct when she can't do so anymore.
The Adversary
She wants a fight. The Adversary is here to kick ass and get her ass kicked, and she's not leaving this mortal coil without both of those happening simultaneously (not like she can die).
She probably wouldn't just fight ANYONE, since she wants to push her limits. People she knows are weaker than her are probably safe unless she finds out they can't actually die. A bit impatient too, and irritable.
The Adversary could absolutely kill someone. She wants to as well, but only if it's someone she sees as worth her time.
The Tower
Her Compelling Voice won't work on anyone but The Hero, probably giving her an identity crisis bad enough to quickly turn her into The Fury.
Seems like the type to write a book. If she could accept not actually being a god then maybe she would (but that's not her character).
Demands respect, not knowing that's not how it works here. The Tower adores those who submit to her, but only as long as they do.
She doesn't like physical combat. The Tower would rather break someone down mentally than throw hands.
The Prisoner
Still could behead herself and have her head carried around. But since The Prisoner isn't actually chained to a wall, she'd be less likely to pull that move (she still has the heavy chains that restrict her movement speed though).
She's resourceful, and uses what she has to try and turn the tide in her favor. The Prisoner is mentally prepared for almost any situation, and after (what she perceives as) years of being locked up in a basement she's used to asking questions before taking action.
The Prisoner would definitely kill someone if they directly pose a threat to her, whether they mean harm or not. She'd give them a chance to drop the weapon, but if they refuse, she's not holding back.
Chapter III Princesses
The Wraith
She can't actually possess anyone other than The Hero, but she sure as hell will try to make your life agony if you piss her off. Which would be easy considering she can crush one's ankle with just a squeeze.
The Wraith is still definitely not kind to newly-met strangers, but she'll at least give them a chance to prove they won't try anything. Even after that point screwing up could be a death sentence.
Can and will kill someone if she wants something. The Wraith will take anything she needs in order to reach her goals, whatever they may be.
The Moment of Clarity
Think The Nightmare, but (probably: I am taking criticism for this, and I'm even rewatching ManlyBadassHero's playthrough in order to make sure I'm getting them right) more desperate for companionship.
Almost everything else carries over from The Nightmare. The Moment of Clarity still wants to cause fear, but being rejected in some way really affected her.
The Grey
Burned will be in orange, Drowned will be in blue.
She's overly loving, willing to do anything to make sure she and The Hero can be together. Just not in the obsessive yandere way. I'm pretty sure that, if The Hero found someone else, she'd either be happy that he's happy or switch to the Drowned Grey (which would mean it's not technically her).
I don't think she would want to kill someone (or, like with her leadup in The Damsel, know how). But The Burned Grey could probably pull the blade out of her chest if necessary.
The Drowned Grey is blunt and not much of a talker. Unlike The Den, who cannot speak, she simply chooses not to.
She'd kill you if she had a reason, usually a grudge. But the punishment would likely match the crime, so if you just spilled your coffee on her she'd probably just wake you up in the middle of the night with a splash of cold water. But she could also use the blade impaled in her chest.
The Thorn
The Witch, but barely trusts anyone. The Thorn would be overjoyed if she found someone she could actually trust.
Like with her being trapped in brambles, she tends to find herself in situations where she needs help to get out. Especially since she's now outside of her own universe and can be confused by so many more things.
Honestly, I have no idea if she'd kill someone. I would have carried this over from The Witch, but The Thorn just doesn't seem like the type to be able to kill if in that situation.
The Wild
I think they're pretty much the only one who doesn't interact with anyone outside of The Hero, since it's probably extremely hard for a path in the woods to talk or anything.
Probably likes riddles.
I am assuming so much here and it's mostly based of them being "a curious heart": seeing as The Wild seeks knowledge of at least a certain aspect, they just figure out other fun stuff along the way.
Seems pretty content with not killing anyone. Likely could if they wanted to, but The Wild doesn't mind just being a path in the woods (only talking about The Princess's half, it depends with The Hero since The Wild starts with them merged).
The Den
The Beast, but unable to be reasoned with. If you piss her off then good luck, you're on your own.
The Fury
She can't rip out the organs of anyone except The Hero (at least, she can't without a physical effort). Poor girl can't catch a break: first she finds out her god power of commanding a guy to do her bidding won't work, and now she can't even punish them for it?
She's very spiteful. The Fury doesn't forget, and she never forgives. Well, she wouldn't until she switches to another version of The Princess who has a different reaction.
She would probably kill someone over a minor inconvenience.
The Eye of the Needle
Everything from The Adversary carries over, but is increased ten-fold. The Eye of the Needle would probably be willing to fight more people with intent to kill and be killed.
The Apotheosis
Everything from The Tower, but add on that she's now cocky as well. She won't even bother trying to bend your will to stop your attempts to kill her: The Apotheosis would love to see you try.
Oh my god I'm finally done writing this. It took two whole days to finish as I rewatched a whole playthrough to refresh

TIME TO RANT!! YAYIPEE!
Alectryon as a whole character is just a guy trying to grow dependent after many years of serving a god at his fullest and being overshadowed by him. He had no other will but to serve Ares and move his chariot around, being his little butler at times but it was all just loyalty and servitude.
Which brings in the very implied lover situation thats talked about in mythology. The thing is, Alectryon in mythology was super toots with Ares, hell they even drank together and they had the best relationship, but if we take in account how dark the GOW rendition of Ares is, this is kinda shady. The power dynamic is horrible, not only to count Alectryon was taken by Ares pretty young (Around the same age as Deimos did, which I will get onto later but you get it) which at first he was trained as a soldier would, he was already in training but well, Ares was like yeah hes the one and took him away.
When this young lad grew, Ares saw him useful for the tasks ive mentioned. And now the horrible comes in. You know, shits dark. Not only cause we all know Ares has caused so much pain to many, but the fact that if we take the last things in account AND mythology, this makes a very dark rendition of the whole "I hold hands with my charioteer buddy-bro". Was this a good relationship? Fuck no! It was pretty much just a "You owe me many things, I trained you, gave you shelter among the gods, gave you inmortality, I gave you my affections... yadda yadda." Which made Alectryon be pressured to be loyal and obedient to the mighty Ares for the bare minimum.
If we go on a positive side of this Alectryon found comfort around Helios, who was on the kinder side by a lot, comparing him to Ares. He saw a friend and someone to rely on. After all that dark and grim moments with Ares, some light from the sun himself will do good. (This is VERY tied to the fact Helios deadass has roosters as his sacred animal, homies never let homies down, and he had poor Alectryon on a pedestal)
Which gave him some hopes! Yay! But the happyness ends here and we go serious again cause we cant have nice things for too long if we are talking about my ocs (Sorry to yall).
So, with Ares dead, what does he have? What is his purpose? What are his ambitions? None. He was a hollow shell without Ares and that took a while to sink in for him. The god that gave him many misfortunes was somehow what made him, *him*. In the sense of purpose. His purpose was serving Ares, and without him around, what was left?
He couldn't take it and refused to let go of his purpose. Thats where his intervention in the events of the 3rd game come in hand.
With Kratos mid Olympus-destroying and god-slaughtering, Alectryon found himself undecided on what was left to do. He had to do something. He defended the place that became his home unwillingly so long ago he can barely remember, that was his new purpose. And so he tried to intervene Kratos.
Now, Kratos definitely cant see Ares' taskboy as a potential threat considering how he hid under Ares' robes at any minor inconvenience or trouble. Which wasn't a good choice but, what could he do other than hide from the world? So Kratos pretty much brushed him off, not wasting his time until it was finally it.
The encounter. Alectryon was decided to stop Kratos for Ares' sake. He was blinded completely, he was just acting how Ares expected him to, a loyal servant at his will and mercy. Kratos was smart enough to look through this pretty manipulated guy and think how useless killing him would be. But Alectryon was adamant on a fight ocurring and so Kratos complied to his wishes, after a fistfight, Kratos showed him mercy after trying to knock some sense in him (On a literal way). Alectryon was resentful, thinking that Kratos pitied him for being Ares' shadow or even considering him weak, but he was wrong. Kratos thought he was strong for enduring so many years with Ares and atleast having some sense of his own, even though he was uncertain of what he was going to do on an upcoming future that was seemingly dark.
After some thinking, realization and perhaps some crying and traumadumping to the guy thats going to FUCKING destroy Olympus on what can be interpreted as a very "poor little meow meow" way which is kind of just laying on a pile of rubble all bloodied up and wounded, Alectryon just realized how much he lost thanks to Ares. None of the gods guaranteed him a sense of safety except Helios (Who he later found out was dead, he def bawled about it) and saw Kratos as less of an enemy but an equal, which Kratos saw aswell.
And this is more of me going omfg! What if... But consider Kratos and him having a Pandora type part, just them collabing. Yk more gay courtship steps/j It would definitely make them close.
But he canonically lived and made it out of the place alive, where is he? What did he do?
He just tried to find comfort in trying to live the life he was supposed to have, a normal life among other mortals, travelling around, meeting people, actually developing social skills that he couldve never got to while he was under Ares' training and service. He was just a regular guy:tm: until he met Kratos once again.
This would be pretty much in the 2018 GOW, Atreus and Kratos just finding this seemingly normal man that knew about the fall of Olympus, that later on turned out to be the one an only, Alectryon, Ex-Charioteer of Ares. A friend.
Im not decided on his role on the norse part of the lore, but I see him as just a companion, he hangs around, talks about the """good""" old days and just recconects with Kratos and leaves his past away, building a new self just like Kratos did.
And a not very long skip to GOWR, he would have the same thing as above, but hes now a new man and hes just very happy about himself, forgetting all the horrors that haunted him for so many years, leaving behind the trauma Ares left in him, healing all the scars and finding peace.
(Lil shotout to @medievildead for becoming an Alectryon lover 🙏)

i can’t remember if ive already asked you this before, but i have a parrot and I’ve been considering getting a dog for a while now. but i haven’t gone ahead with it because im really worried about them together. it’s not even so much about them hurting each other because i think I could keep them separate, it’s like how can I give them both enough attention? I’m just wondering if you have any advice. i want a dog for mental health reasons mainly, I think it would be really good for me, but my bird comes first of course.
It’s definitely a balancing act and it may not be ideal for some birds! It’ll be something you have to evaluate with your own bird, seeing how much attention they want in a day and where your schedule has naturally occurring breaks.
The breed of dog you look in to, and age, will also take a big part. Some have good off switches (capacity to settle and relax) while other are always “on” which tend to require a lot more of your time and management.
My birds happen to nap and want independent time for a majority of the day. They’re active first thing in the morning, nap + are independent in the middle of the day, active in the evening, then go to bed for the night.
Tumblr media
So my schedule works around that!
6-7 is letting the dogs out to pee and give them breakfast
7-8 (give or take) is bird social time, give them breakfast, play with them, rotate toys, etc. I usually start bird time at 7 and wait for them to fly back in to their room or start to nap so they control when bird time actually ends.
8-9 is people breakfast + prepping to take my significant to work
9-10ish is my first dogs walk
10-11 second dogs walk
12-4 is free time. Doing chores, doing extra dog training, socializing with people, etc.
4:30-6 is second bird time. Again they decide when bird time actually ends by going to the room or napping.
6-7 get my significant from work + feed the dogs dinner
7-10:30 human dinner, free time
Prior to adding a new animal to our home we ran schedule tests to figure out where we could fit things, whether the birds would be happy with that setup, what worked and what didn’t. We also sorted out the animal zones, knowing that when the birds get free roam of the house dog 1 goes to a kennel and dog 2 goes downstairs so there’s no risk of the birds accidentally getting hurt. Also when it’s dog time the birds get their free roam room so there’s still ample space to move and have fun but they’re secured away from any predatory animals. I highly recommend doing schedule tests not only for your animals sake but for your own. You may run a week of fake scheduling and realize that it’s just too much for you and be able to make that choice before another animal is involved.
Tumblr media
And just an obligatory note, don’t allow cross species interactions. I’m a dog trainer, I know my dog wouldn’t go for my birds, i taught her not to. I still wouldn’t put a predatory dog and a prey bird in a room together. It’s an unnecessary risk. Aside from the potential for something to go wrong it’s unhealthy for the bird. Interacting with predatory animals is stressful and the bacteria present on a dogs fur (gram-negative bacteria) can be extremely harmful to a bird. It’s not worth the risks.

ok. so. thinking abt octopath ii nonstop. im really vibing w the characters so far so really limited thoughts on them, if only to come back and see this post again once ive played it! also listing in the main trailer order bc thats easiest for me to remember. as if i dont have them memorized
hikari:
hes a warrior but hes also a PRINCEEEEE
again not a slight on olberic (bc he’s my favourite OBVIOUSLY) but i love that his attacks have different names than his
very excited that it seems like hes gonna take a “for the sake of friendship and fallen comrades” approach to his theme rather than a bland “my home country == good” approach
agnea:
i really like that she’s a different type of dancer than primrose, rather than reuse the sex appeal that primrose used. not that its a slight on primrose (one of my faves!) but dancer does tend to have that association to it
her overworld animations have so much extra flavour to them… the way she walks…
it seems like her town supports her 🥹
partitio:
helloOOOO SOUTHERN CHARACTER IN A JRPG
honestly. i just like that he seems honest. love a good honest merchant theyre so rare
osvald:
idk abt his design but ough. im always a sucker for a revenge plot. even if it involves a dead wife and child i dont care. i wanna feel osvald’s rage i wanna take my time fighting whoever did that to him.
i feel like hes gonna be one of my fave stories but im not sure if he’ll be one of my favourite characters. does that make sense.
mage character wanting to kill someone with their own hands YES!!!!! YES!!!!!!
throné:
girl im gonna love your story. i know i am
her bloody history even though shes a thief???
SO curious about the “mother” character. i need to know this backstory
temenos:
prettyboy cleric character…. i feel like theyd either make him honest and innocent or tastefully corrupt and given how innocent ophilia was i feel like theyre gonna swerve and make him a little rowdy. and if thats the case im gonna be obsessed
no thoughts on his backstory. just wanna see what they do with him
ochette:
shes like a foxgirl or something and im OBSESSED with those implications
not as hyped about her whole “hunting prize meats” storyline but im really hoping they give us some sort of twist on that
rn she’s feeling like tressa in that theres no motivation besides “doing better than what they have at the start” so. begging for some spare backstory 🤲
castti:
honestly? i want to play as her so bad
i love everything about her. missing memories. seems like she was shipwrecked and only managed to save a kid. whats gonna happen to that kid? does she get rescued by respectable ppl or pirates? is she gonna be ocean based? i dont know but im dying to find out
other thoughts on the trailers and the rest of the game:
INTERTWINING PATHS??????? IS THE ORDER I TAKE GONNA MATTER???? SQUARE ENIX. IM GOING TO PLAY THIS GAME A MILLION TIMES. YOU UNDERESTIMATE MY DESIRE FOR MORE OCTOPATH
AND!!!! ARE THE CHARACTERS GONNA ACTUALLY INTERACT IN THEIR RESPECTIVE CHAPTERS AND NOT JUST IN SKITS!!!!!!!!!

I love the game, i really do, but for me its around 8-9/10.
Warning- This is full of spoilers for FF16! So beware
.
.
.
.
.
Im gonna asterisk all my points cause i want it to be more organized. This is things i wish square would patch into the game, (15's way)
*first thing first, my roomate had a pretty solid point about the terrence dion goodbye scene. We care for dion, they showed us plenty of him, but terrence, not so much. (or their relationship beside that one kiss scene), but not about their pure bond- which i agree, for dion involvment in the ending, he should have more screentime, also with the involvement of the empire in the plot- it shouldve got the witcher 3 approach with the siri segments, show don't tell- i think there should have been a playable section in the bahamut vs odin, to get to know dion and his dynamics better. - that scene wouldve hit so much harder.and like my kiss argument my straight roomate agreed, that if terrence at least went back for a last kiss teary that'll pull the tear gear.
*joshua-oh god they let us play as him when he was a baby, why not just letting us playing as him when the player discover that he is alive, with jote and the undying, even for small section not wanting to reveal the cards too early. I think that should be a part of the game, the base game.
*jill- if it must be a dlc so be it, but at least add some cutscenes to when she talks about the iron kingdom, we as players would be so much more hyped to join her vengeance quest, she have the potential, you showed us the horrors bennedikta went throgh which is why at least i became to love her in the end, why not a main character like Jill, she have so much potential, if not making a palyable iron kingdom section (like before she reunited with clive maybe when she grew a bit)at least add the cutscenes square.
*for god sake make it possible to switch party members like you did in 15, L1+L2 is no combo anyway so patch that thing, it'll be so much more refreshing especially in the first half of the game when the quests are dry and the gameplay loop is repetitive.
*make the ambrosia quest mandatory, so many pple dont even know they can unlock the chocobo, or at least let the player know that the + green quest are important if they want to upgrade their gameplay. This isn't an mmo most single player players will look at that and thing that the + is an extra non important (had an irl talk with a friend who thought that)
*dlc- make it season pass only, one time pay and thats it. the game is 69.99 it shouldn't even need a dlc, but at least do a full on season pass in like 19.99 with like at least a cid dlc(dont yall wanna see his time with the empire, taking small mid otto gav and making the hideaway happen, also, i wanna know who from the boys have a spicy history with cid cause quinten suggested it and some other npcs as well), dion dlc(not only to get a look at the first official not hinted gay character's love life, no not for that-but i think we need a real look into the empire pre and post Annable. what we saw of his dad was tereible, i wanna know why dion is so atrached and looking highly of him, also like ive said in previous post i have to know dion pov on branded), jill dlc(cause bae need a redemption i fucking hate how square treat a strong female character once she's a love interest of the protag)
And a gav dlc, like something happens in the end that if you dont choose gav in the quest you wont know, but gav tells a bit about his past and i think especially since he is our main scout, dlc of him and byron maybe could be cool, after the kanvar event.
*enemies variety- im pissed theres no Cactaur hunt or tonberry. Like really really pissed. You kept the freaking flann but not the cactaur?!please for the love of fucking god patch them as a hunt or something.
*animation fixes- so many quests that had a higebuildup ended looking cheap. Fix that-asap, especially the quinten quest, it could have hit so much harder if the lipsync wasn't so cursed looking while the model was kinda static they had quest with proper cutscense like theo's, why not Quinten since its a freaking end of a huge chain quest. Also, in general fix the freaking lipsync that shit is cursed af.
In conclusion i know pple like shitting on 15 but i thino 16 will only bemefit from the 15 treatment, especially for the proce we as consumers payed.
This game doesnt feel finished, it feels rushed, i think 2 more years in the baking wouldve benefit it, but well its out, so why not patching it. I think it'll boost the sales cause now the game feel bare, and many things feel like placeholders. So i hope the team didnt pop the champagne yet.
I dont blame Yoshi p or the team, i think they did an amazing job, but i do blame square's higher ups tendency to announce and release a teiple A game too early, they need to understand that atech advances, it need and will take more time to develope a game. And if you want to take the money that you are asking for at least make sure that the dough isn't raw.
That's it Haruki's out.

hello~!! didja see the journeys ep with paul yet? what did you think of it? 👀
Oh, I sure did! Less than 24 hours after it came out, no less. Which is saying something, since I've not watched any of the Pokémon anime since XY (more had to do with getting rid of cable + general burnout; not to knock on XYZ, but Best Wishes hurt me).
Thoughts on it? Well, a little on the mixed side. Least I can do is go over it in more detail. Without watching Journeys at all outside this episode, I've got the overall gist well enough. So, guess it's time to pick this apart.
Tumblr media
Cramming 2-3 plots in one episode was a misstep imo
I heard the last time Ash's reserve group at Oak's lab was featured in Journeys, it did a less-than-stellar job showing them off. Apparently, a good chunk of them weren't even seen in that episode, let alone had a role in it. This episode rectified that and made sure every single one of Ash's currently-owned Pokémon was at the very least visible, as even the ones who only got background/still-shot moments at least got to display an element of their personality. That much I greatly appreciate. Guess it's inevitable that pulling this off well will only become increasingly difficult as the series presses on with Ash as a protagonist, so at the very least I can respect this episode for going out of its way to make the vast majority of these Pokémon relevant in one way or another.
Tumblr media
Especially since the Fire-type brigade had a special purpose in helping Ash's Gengar learn Will-o-Wisp. And as someone who values the strategic aspect of Pokémon battling, I'm super happy it was this move that Gengar learned and not something like Fire Punch. I enjoyed seeing this being shown in such detail! It really did feel like stepping back to the older seasons that actually put effort into showing off the importance of training.
However, as I watched the episode, I noticed how much time was being invested in these two plot points and remembered this is supposed to be the episode where Paul returns after a 12-year absence...
Tumblr media
And from what I understand, Paul ain't gettin' any more appearances after this. This is it! This is all we get after a decade-plus of nothing!
So, in all honesty, I think at the very least the plot of Ash reuniting with all his Pokémon, Goh properly getting acquainted with them all, and the training for the Masters 8 should have been its own episode. Because I do believe it's very important to honor history and give everybody their due diligence when the anime gives them time to actually show up and matter.
Now, with Gengar learning Will-o-Wisp? That meshes in well with Paul showing up. I'd keep that. But the abundance of nostalgic fluff (that I love, but I gotta tell it like it is) really made this episode feel more than a little truncated in the areas that should have mattered most.
It was a competently written comeback for Paul...
On a superficial note, I am a little bummed that Paul didn't get any tweaks in his design (such as colored irises, which Ash was granted from Best Wishes onward; before then, his eyes were just as dotted and black as Paul's). I certainly didn't expect him to get a new outfit or anything since they didn't give Dawn that much (... from what I recall they DID give that to Serena, buuuut Serena's from the era of customizable PCs so I guess that makes a little more sense? Didn't play Gen IV's remakes, so idk if they offered that in those), but it would've been cool.
Then again, I HAVE heard about the interview in which the logic for never ever letting Ash age for the sake of keeping some "feeling like the first day of summer every day" sentiment... much as I roll my eyes at that, I've pretty much given up on the progression of time EVER being feasible in this series. Up through DP, I could at least pretend Ash was aging a year per major region (minor quests like Orange League and the Battle Frontier didn't warrant full-year lengths to me). At this point, given the design and how many generations we're in now, there's really no other choice than to accept this is basically Anime Simpsons time-wise.
Tumblr media
Paul having his own Gyarados, Garchomp, and Metagross was completely believable, of course. He's been doing this Pokémon training thing just as long as Ash has, and there was zero indication that he would have stopped after Ash beat him. Unlike Gary, Paul didn't decide on a career change. He was set on challenging Brandon again (more on that later...). So, yeah. It would be perfectly logical for Paul to have about as many reserves as Ash. Reggie's got a big-ass backyard for that, after all. And all three of these Pokemon are ones I'd totally see have Paul having on his own journey.
Tumblr media
Would've liked a longer battle, ngl
I'm not sour that Paul lost to Ash again here. Ash losing to Paul at this stage probably would have damaged his cred significantly (considering what all he's accomplished from XYZ and Sun/Moon) - this is right before the Masters 8 stuff starting up, after all.
But I think I would have at least preferred a tie.
Then again, with a certain other plot element I'll get to in a bit, I suppose that might have weakened that message a tad. Really, though, I would've liked a longer battle. I'm just used to Ash/Paul battles being lengthy affairs, full of twists and turns and crazy-ass strategies being utilized. Like, in all fairness, all 3 of Ash's Pokémon gained significant abilities from this battle alone (Lucario got Bullet Punch, Dragonite got a crazy-ass combo move, and Gengar got Will-o-Wisp). I am bummed we didn't get a resurgence of Counter Shield - THAT would've been cool to see make a comeback! And it's one of Ash's few legitimately clever tactics. Though I guess that technique was more of a Dawn-related thing, ultimately. Still, didn't stop Paul from copying it in the Sinnoh League :P I wanna say Dragonite's made-up technique may have been some kind of loose reference/spiritual successor, but in practice it looks like they serve completely different purposes.
Thanks to so much time being eaten up with Ash's Pokémon reunion, there sadly wasn't much left for there to be an epic fight. What little we got was good enough, and it was very nicely animated.
Tumblr media
The real appeal in Paul and Ash's rivalry, though, was in how Paul actually made Ash question himself and his methods/motivations. Paul on the outside came off as someone who should have no business being as good as he is because he isn't all about the "love and friendship" aspect of Pokémon. Naturally we're past that development for both of them, but this extended into their battling as well. Their first full battle was loaded with multiple switch-outs on both ends, Ash being forced to wonder what Paul had planned when something didn't immediately make sense to him, and it was just a glorious display of battling psychology.
I guess switch-outs being forbidden from the off in this battle played a role in how this could have been just a little bit more in-depth. And it'd be foolhardy to just expect this battle to be right up there with both of the full battles that happened in DP. The characters are both in very different places now compared to then.
Still, I couldn't help but roll my eyes a little when Paul actually wondered "Oh shit, is Burn really affecting my Metagross' strength?! The thing that the Burn status effect has always been?!"
ofcoursehefuckingknowshehasafuckingmagmortarwithflamebodyandREALLYfuckedpikachu'sshitwiththeburnstatussowhytheeverlivingfuckisheevenwonderingaboutthistohimselfgoddammit
... a GYM LEADER you say
Tumblr media
So. I'm of two minds about this.
It's REALLY COOL the series itself is acknowledging that Paul is far too talented to just be an aimlessly-wandering nobody trainer and gave him something that'll elevate his status and reflect just how his presence positively affected the series.
Bonus points if (and this is SUPER-DELUSIONAL OPTIMISM btw) Paul actually became a Gym Leader for the next series AND was adopted into the game canon by actually being a Gym Leader in the Scarlet/Violet games.
On the other hand...
Tumblr media
COME ON, HE IS AT LEAST A FRONTIER BRAIN CANDIDATE
YEAH FUCKING REMEMBER THAT? LAST THING WE KNOW PAUL DID POST-LEAGUE WAS GO OFF TO CHALLENGE BRANDON AGAIN.
WHEN ASH BEAT BRANDON, HE WAS OFFERED A POSITION TO BE A FRONTIER BRAIN.
SO EITHER
PAUL BEAT BRANDON BUT TURNED DOWN THE OFFER BECAUSE WHY BE A FRONTIER BRAIN WHEN YOU COULD BE A GYM LEADER AND IT'S NOT LIKE THE ANIME ESTABLISHED FRONTIER BRAINS > GYM LEADERS OR ANYTHING OH WAIT YES IT HAS
"It’s a group of facilities, somewhat like a Gym, but more intense where you challenge and battle against an amazing group of powerful trainers called Frontier Brains." -Brock
OR
PAUL JUST NEVER DEFEATED BRANDON I GUESS
(also lowkey I really really really would've loved for Paul to meet Cynthia again...)
His behavior in the battle this episode DID have him more in, say, a "gym leader's" mindset, I would say. I'd go as far to argue that Paul wasn't really putting his all into any of those matches with Ash. He really seemed interested in drawing out new powers from his opponent. The few times where he shows something of a reaction during the battles, it's when one of the three new powers/techniques started showing that aura-like flare.
I'm certainly not saying Paul wouldn't make for a good Gym Leader. Given the subtle showings of his growth in the episode, such as Infernape actually following Paul's suggestion; something he wouldn't have done in DP regardless of Paul's prior ownership of him... also, him telling Electivire to play and all that, yeah. That's indicative that he's not as excessively rigid as he was before. Paul has the maturity and discipline to be an excellent Gym Leader; certainly 8th Gym Leader material for sure.
My thing is... this is very much beneath him. If the episode had more time, maybe we would have gotten Paul saying that in his pursuit of gaining power, he realized that wasn't ever going to stop someone out there being more powerful than him no matter what he did.
We could have gotten something like, Paul admitting that his fascination with seeing power really felt the most rewarding when his influence drew power out from his opponents.
Looking at the facts, almost every time Paul and Ash battled in DP, Ash would either get one of his Pokémon evolved or they'd learn a significant new move or ability (or technique). Paul is really good at making Ash dig deep and bring out the best in all of his Pokémon.
It stands to reason that Paul's passion might lie in bringing out the true potential of other trainers; it gives him a better battle to have that improves his own team while simultaneously benefiting his opponent.
With a specific sort of focus like this, added with the fact that Paul has zero type preferences of any sort (all we know is that he really likes powerful 'mons who are as good at tanking hits as they are at dishing them out), that really screams "Frontier Brain" more so than "Gym Leader".
In all fairness, it's never outright said whether or not Paul accepted the offer to become Gym Leader. Which can let me headcanon that while he went to Professor Oak to educate himself, it wasn't necessarily to become Gym Leader. Paul's realizing that he can't rely entirely on self-taught methods to ascend in this way of life. Whatever he becomes in the future, Paul's clearly taking the steps necessary to reach the level he seeks to be.
So while I wasn't really thrilled about Paul being used as the "measuring stick" for Ash's chances against anyone in the Masters 8, at least there's an implication that Paul isn't exactly spinning his wheels, either. Much as I'd love to have him be part of the Masters 8 (no guesses on who I'd have him replacing in that), clearly the powers-that-be did not have that intention from the onset.
Hell, one can argue that Paul becoming Gym Leader is just his stepping stone to reach greater heights. After all, it's not uncommon for Gym Leaders to later challenge, on on rare occasions, defeat and replace members of the Elite Four.
So there's an ounce of hope here. Of course, I don't expect we'll ever actually see Paul in the anime again. Maybe 24 years from now. I'll be lucky to be alive by then!
Paul plz
Tumblr media
gawd you're still so tsundere af
Tumblr media
BITCH YOU HAVE BEEN IN NO LESS THAN FOUR POKEWORLD EQUIVALENTS OF THE SUPER BOWL
SHUT YO' ASS UP
I'd post more pics/gifs but I ran my limit now
So uh... yeah! Those are my thoughts on the episode. In a vacuum, it's great, had lots of nostalgic potential and at the very least they didn't completely ruin Paul like they EASILY could have. Kudos on the writers for making him show his maturity through his subtle cues rather than making him overtly friendly like the rest of Ash's recurring posse.
I really do enjoy more strategic elements being employed in the battle and the episode overall. I feel like Gengar's Will-O-Wisp especially will be a game-changer for Ash's chances in the Masters 8.
However, I would've really appreciated having more time, maybe not compact this episode with three major events, y'know? I'm sure there's a filler somewhere in Journeys that could've been trimmed out to facilitate this.
Also not thrilled about the prospect of Paul becoming a Gym Leader as it's very much beneath him (unless this is some clever-ass tie in to the games and god is that ever wishful thinking or his stepping stone to reach the top), but I do like that I can infer that Paul's at least found a reason to battle for his own sake now.
Yeah. Remember when Brandon asked Paul why he battles? We never got an answer to that, ever.
So this might be the closest we get: not a Gym Leader aspiration, but a necessary step in Paul's mission to bring power out in others to improve his own style.
Could use some work, but considering I'm almost certain this is all of Paul we're gonna get from here on out, I'm just gonna treasure and headcanon the hell out of it.

i've seen a few people discussing how katniss should be drawn/not drawn and i wanted to add my two cents to the situation.
let’s start with my initial thoughts on drawing katniss as Native American:
i think it’s great for artists to draw katniss as a poc and as native (esp seen as many readers perceive her as native-coded!) and i truly love seeing art where she is depicted as a woman of colour  - it feels true to my perception of her and the perception i know a lot of other non-white (and white!) readers had whilst reading the books!
however, i also think that an effort should be made to portray her heritage accurately and respectfully if depicting her as native american is an aim the artist has.
that is to say, by not hypersexualising her/her clothes, not reducing her clothing to a stereotype
it reminds me of an instagram post i saw a while ago by @soia-jpg regarding piper mclean (a Cherokee character from the Heroes Of Olympus series). in the second slide of the post it reads “there are more ways to portray a native character without using their heritage as a prop, or using it wrong and in an irrespecutful way”
this is true for piper, and I think it should be true for katniss too if the intention of an artist drawing her is to depict her as native american.
okay, now lets move onto my thoughts regarding katniss being drawn as pocahontas;
whilst i do not think the artist who drew her as pocahontas had any harmful intentions, i do think that the piece was harmful/perpetuated a harmful idea.
pocahontas is a movie which many people enjoy and love because of its nice animation and catchy songs and environmentalist message (I get it, it was one of my favourite movies too when i was younger!) but it is also a movie which romanticises the violent history of genocide and colonisation in North America and that isn’t something that can or should just be forgotten for the sake of how pretty it is visually. frankly, drawing any character as pocahontas - the main character from a disney movie which is largely deemed to be disrespectful and problematic due to the way it represents indigenous cultures and colonisation -  is harmful and ignores the damage that pocahontas as a movie did to how the history of colonisation in America is perceived, and the way it whitewashed the true story of Matoaka.
like,, disney chose to make a movie vaguely based on the life of a Native American girl who actually existed, but didn’t have had any intention of making a historically accurate story when they could have. if Matoaka’s story was considered too gruesome, they could have chosen to retell a tale from Native American folk lore/mythology. rather than, you know, basing a movie off the life of someone who existed and underwent enormous pain but deciding to ignore that completely and change the narrative.
basically, i think that it’s important to remember that the disney movie pocahontas does a great disservice to history and is harmful in its depiction of Native American societies and colonisation - largely whitewashing and romanticising history and the life of a young Native American girl who’s life was anything but the fairytale it is shown to be in the movie. pushing the entirely fabricated romantic relationship of pocahontas and john smith (who were in reality 10 and 27 years old when they first met) onto two characters is tone deaf and is unfortunately something ive seen it done time and time over, not only with everlark but also with zutara (zuko and katara from A;TLA).
here are some links to places where people have discussed why pocahontas as a piece of media is problematic;
poverty, alcoholism and suicide - but at least the natives can paint with all the colours of the wind
