ok i'm not good at it, but i'll try to be more serious.

King Ohger is my first sentai after about…10? 11? years since i watch toku as a kid (for sentai, i used to watch shinkenger and power rangers dino force). I start to watch toku again last year because of KR Den-O, simply just bcs i want to rewatch one of my fav childhood tv program. And i cried a lot, not just because of den-o's story but also I remember that I still love toku as much as little me back then

after finished den-o, i crave for more toku to watch, then my older sister told me there's this super sentai that all of the sentai is leaders/kings ((SHE HAVEN'T WATCH KINGOH UNTIL THIS VERY DAY DESPITE BEING ONE OF MY REASON TO WATCH KINGOH, I HATE HER////jk i love u sis)). I didn't watch kingoh while it's ongoing, i binge watch it from ep 1 while it's around eps 20-25. And i regret nothing, i feel a lot of emotions, be it's the good one or even the bad one. I laugh and I cry. I didn't live for 2000 years like jeramie, but i relate to him about dealing with grief and keep everything to yourself bcs you don't want others to worry about you. And the happiness of finally found someone you can rely on, someone that won't say anything but will pat your shoulder and reminds you that they will be on your side no matter what.

I learn a lot of thing from other king too, i learn to be kind from gira and himeno, i learn that it's okay to not care about what people say and be myself the way i am from rita, i learn to stands for what's wrong and didn't back down like yanma, and kaguragi uhm…* shake hands with kagu * yes ur my buddy bro (i swear i have one thing i relate to kagu, i just don't want to tell what it is-)

people can call it 'childish show' (my friend said that when i tell them abt kingoh and kr ;-; that's why i stopped telling abt toku to others and just keep my excitement to myself) and they're still right, but still, kingoh is special to me.

I was ready to be alone on this (I always be), i draw fanarts because i want and i like them so much, and didn't expect at all that i'll found other people that excited about the same thing like me. thank you to everyone who liked, reblog, comment, send asks, i can't always answer everything, but pls know that i appreciate every single of you,

Only Friends เพื่อนต้องห้าม Ep 5

I'm finally caught up and oh, OH, this was a ride. This was very much Sand's episode, and I have a feeling when he finally does something to disappoint me he's going to devastate me … and I welcome it. He's such a well-written character so far. Feels very, very real.

Ray … it feels like he's genuinely got feelings for Sand, but he's also very much not over Mew and NOT ready to put a name to or commit to being more than fwb with Sand.

Mew kind of grew on me even more this episode, except for his inexplicable-to-me attraction to Top.

I missed Namcheuam this episode and hope to see her more next week.

Nick trying to be more like Top this episode was awful to watch, Boston seeming to react to it in a positive way was possibly worse.

Boston is the epitome of 22-y-o "I'm just telling it like I see it" and doesn't care what or who he hurts in the process. At this point I'm pretty sure the fact that Neo plays him so charmingly is his only saving grace. And the person who filmed him? probably Drake's character. Wonder whether he'll get a name eventually … which reminds me we still haven't met whoever it is Papang plays.

ANYWAY. That' the tl;dr; rambling live watch commentary below. I'm going to dive into the tag and try to see what I missed.

The conversation Gil had with Enkidu really just shows the peak of Gil’s character and why I love him so much. As king he feels the need to put humanity on the right path, even if it means being distant and sometimes cruel to his people. That he loves humans, but he can’t tell them how much he cares for them because he needs to keep his emotional distance in order to be objective in their survival against the gods. And that Enkidu is his first friend, and the only one he can talk to about this because they are neither human nor god, so he doesn’t have to rule or reject them. That despite taking a path where no one could get close enough to love him, he loves Enkidu, and that as long as they are by his side that he won’t be alone in his fight against the gods. And then later when he recounts his journey. He was merely a person who didn’t want to die. And how he didn’t learn how to relate to people until everything he wished and worked for was stolen from him in an instant. They reference what he says in CCC about laughing when he discovered the herb was stolen. How that acceptance of death allowed him to become a great king, one who didn’t just protect humans but knew their constant pain and acceptance of death. He’s the star of creation that split heaven and earth, the godking who was enough above humans to lead them on their own independent path, but similar enough to humans to love and cherish and understand them. And then, he holds off on disappearing until he can check on his people one last time, to see that all his work wasn’t for nothing, and that even without him there to lead them humans will continue to forge their own path without the gods and survive.

Walker 2.14

You know when you want something, and you build all these expectations and then when you finally get it, it dissapoints? WELL THAT'S NOT THE CASE HERE!

I do not have the words to explain how much I loved this episode. And I'm gonna just gonna let y'all know that this is not going to be some well structured, cohesive post this is going to be me rambling about how much I enjoyed this because I have been waiting for the longest time for Jensen to direct an episode and he finally did and it was amazing.

The main premise of the ep is pretty straightforward and can be summarized by: Cassie runs into her old Captain and the wife of her missing partner, turns out they're now a couple. She thinks old Captain had something to do with getting rid of Miles so he could get with the wife. He tells her Miles is dead, that they had found a witness who talked he just never told her to try and spare her.

Except Miles is not dead, he is very much alive and the old Captain knows! But Cassie doesn't know, she thinks he's 💀 But we, the audience know and you know what else we know??? THAT THE STAND IN FOR MILES WAS JENSEN!!!!! They hadn't cast Miles and needed someone to stand in and be his figure and Jensen was like 'I can do that!'

In general this is a great episode, it's really well written, it's got some fun scenes and the thing with Cassie's old partner Miles is interesting. But when you're an spn and j2 fan, and can spot and understand the little Easter Eggs and bts stories behind some of the scenes it makes it that much more fun. Like the scene with the green cooler, if you've never watched spn it's just a funny scene but for everyone else it's a reference to Sam and Dean's green color, and that easter egg becomes even more fun if you know that that was the actual green cooler, Jensen had it so they used it.

And it's those little details that really elevate this episode into something special. Little details by the way that Jensen contributed to because the easter eggs were a collab between him and the epi writer. A lot of love and thought went into this episode and you can tell.

And I can't talk about how amazing this episode is without mentioning Kansas. The actual band Kansas! Who they got to perform Carry on my Wayward Son!!!! I knew they were gonna be in the ep because it wasn't some big kept secret but I still started screaming and almost cried when they appeared and began to sing! It was everything 😭

For me this is one of the best of the series, and it's my personal favorite so far. And I'm probably going to re-watch it a million times.

I’ve never made one of these before but I have a lot of Thoughts so I figured I’d share!

I end up rambling quite a bit...

we really don’t get to see sib and gene’s reactions to finding out about the photos?? They’re the main characters wth

We love the sibgene casual domesticity

Damn poor Hin but I’m also confused as to what his conflict is supposed to be? he doesn’t do anything, he just decides to walk away from everything, which is fine I guess but not very compelling

Why did they make tiffy so rude to tum all of the sudden???? Tiffy and Tum’s story was so excellent until Tum actually confessed and they it became a shitshow

The dramatic ass music over all of these relatively calm and serious conversations makes for a very strange tone

This has got to be the most dialogue in any episode of anything ever. No action just talking

Everything is so??? Calm??? Like everything sucks but the characters are all acting like adults it’s crazy

Except aoey fuck aoey

I seriously cannot tell if we’re supposed to sympathize with him or not what is his deal

We went so many episodes without a single hint of any of the side characters and now we’re being bombarded with all their stories all at once

The conversation between Tum and his sister was pretty good tho. If only the show had previously built up their relationship dynamic so that the scene would be more emotionally impactful

Why do i feel like this show was meant to be way longer but they ended up cutting out huge chunks of it

Is it just me or has this episode had quite a few audio issues?

Okay so I actually think Kao is a decent actor. I could really hear the hurt in his voice in the final confrontation scene. This is the most vulnerable we’ve ever seen sib.

Not that he’s that great of an actor either. Up has him beat by miles in that regard

I love the blue lighting in the final scene between gene and sib. Sad but pretty

In all seriousness tho, what a great way to end this episode! I’m genuinely excited to see how everything will be concluded

Final Thoughts:

Similarly to the last episode, the timeline of this episode was kind of hard to follow and I have a lot of questions there, but it didn’t really affect the core story so whatever. I was really shocked at how calmly everything was handled by the characters. They we’re all clearly upset, but where in other shows there would have been yelling, anger, and probably some manhandling, here there was only conversation. Angry conversation, but still real discussions. There was a lot of tension, but pretty much everyone made decisions like rational adults. Except for Aoey he’s is a manipulative bitch.

I was also really struck by how realistic all the tweets were. For every one of them I swear I’ve seen a word-for-word equivalent in real life. This episode was really painfully realistic. It was sad and awkward and drawn out and not at all explosive. A lot of the pain in this episode felt more like resignation than anything else. Gene resigns himself to being alone and Sib resigns himself to Gene’s choice. It hurts like hell, but sometimes it’s all you can do to sit back and let things happen.

I especially like how there isn’t really a right or wrong choice in this situation. Gene chose to defer to the wishes of others in order to avoid scandal and minimize the damage, and that is a perfectly justified choice. Nubsib valued his personal life over his professional life, and while a bit naive, that’s a choice he’s well within his rights to make. Neither were wrong in their choices, but neither were right either. They just... were.

Except Aoey fuck aoey I have officially lost all sympathy for him. His life is clearly spiraling out of control and he needs help. Somebody get this guy a therapist please he’s become a sloppy mess.

I’ve found these last few episode to be extremely slow paced, by not necessary in a bad way. I may have felt a little bored, but overall I wanted the characters to take their time and it fit tonally. That being said, maybe it should have been faster paced, because I really feel like there’s so much story that was cut out. Like, we don’t even get to see Gene and Sib’s initial reactions to the scandal? That really feels like something we should have seen. It also felt like we we’re supposed to know more about Tum’s sister than we did. The argument Tum had with his sister would have made a lot more sense then, anyway.

Well, despite all it’s flaws, I did enjoy watching the episode, which in the end is all I really care about.

12.Favorite Phutian moment (Or the moment that made you SCREAM saying they invented love)

I'll change the answer in other asks just because i CAN jdjdjdj but for now I'm thinking it's the pinky touching under the blanket in ep3. That was the exact moment that made me fall for this show. I've said this before ig but I dont watch a lot of shows and I'm very very selective before watching anything. So when i first started watching atots (i waited until ep3 was out and then binge watched them) I already liked it from the opening line "I always thought that life was like a game". But that pibky touching scene was the EXACT moment that made me go this is it! This is the love of my life now. And I remember replaying that part and crying for 3/4 hours straight 😩😩 I even cried when I was binge watching the eps before ep9.

Cheating Nam 😩 Basically that WHOLE bar scene. It was so unnecessary and I hated every second of it.

(3rd POV)

Korra frowned, as she switched the washcloth to place on your sweaty forehead. Apparently you made yourself sick from worry. You've been unconscious for about 3 days and your fever finally broke. Your (h/c)  was plastered to your forehead, and she carefully brushed them back, gasping softly seeing your bright blue arrows.

You had your arrows? Korra quickly ran through her lessons on the history of airbenders, and knew they got the arrows when they did something amazing or completed their training. She studied them and thought back to other tattoos she'd seen and realized yours were a at least a few years old.

Groaning cut her thoughts short as you shifted in your bed. (E/C) eyes lazily looked around the room, before you shot up in your bed with wide eyes, rambling. "Holymonkeyfeathers!Whathappened? Igotta--" As you made a move to get off the bed, you groaned, an arm wrapping around your ribs. "(Y/N), slow down! You're still really hurt!" the Avatar cried, helping you lay back down.

You relaxed as she used some cool water to go over your injuries. "KK?" you whispered softly, calling her one of the many childhood nicknames you've given her. She smiled, pausing in her healing. "You haven't called me that in forever." "What happened? Why are you in my room? Why does my body hurt?" You wondered, watching her put the water back in its bowl.

"I have a few questions for you: When did you get your arrows? How long have you had them? What happened to you before you rescued us?" You sent her a raised eyebrow with that ever patient look you were well known for. "Okay.." she sighed before explaining everything.

*A few minutes later*

You placed your head in your hands, gripping your hair slightly. "Tahno really lost his powers? Amon was there and we lost him?" You asked in disbelief. The blue eyed girl nodded. You sighed, before rubbing your temples. "Headache?" she asked, holding out some water and medicine tablets. "Migraine." you corrected, taking the medicine before going to take your pajama shirt off. She told you, your Uncle was the one who changed your clothes while you were out.

"Whoa whoa whoa! What are you doing?" Korra shrieked, covering her eyes and turning the other way. You chuckled, before finishing unbuttoning your shirt. "Kor, I have a tank top underneath." She turned around, sheepishly, before studying your tattoos. "I've had them since I was 8." you stated simply, hobbling over to grab your hairbrush.

"How come you've been hiding them for almost 11 years? How have I not notice?" Korra watched as you brushed knots out. "I'm not embarrassed of them, not at all. But.." "But?" she prompted. "I would be a bigger target if people knew I was a dual bender, Korra. The sooner you  learn that people are mean, greedy, selfish, and unforgiving monsters, the better." You turned away from her, clearly done with the conversation.

She studied your tense back before standing up and heading for the door. "I'll go get Tenzin." And she left, leaving you to your thoughts. A few minutes later, you heard your Uncle enter. He looked at you to see you looking at your tattoos in thought. "Penny for your thoughts, Nephew?" he asked quietly. "Korra found out about my tattoos. She asked...why do I cover them up." The airbending master hummed, stroking his beard.

"What did you tell her?" "Nothing she doesn't need to know about. No one needs to know but me....not even my father." You met grey eyes in the mirror and saw he was nodding. "Very well, (Y/N). But if your father did know, and I know my brother, he wouldn't be angry with you. No one is." You glared at your reflection, before turning away to go shower.

"I am."

*Timeskip*

You followed Korra to the arena, and left Neo and Naga outside, knowing that they won't cause any trouble. Korra wanted to ask more questions about your tattoos, but by the way you were acting, she knew better. You led her up to the brothers' apartment above the arena and walked in to hear Mako talking.

"I still can't believe they're shutting this place down." "Yeah, we had some good memories here." "Sure did." You said, walking in with a smirk on your face. "(Y/N)! Glad you're up and okay!"They both hugged you and turned to Korra when she spoke up."Guys, guess what? You don't to go back to the streets. I talked to Tenzin and made all the arrangements. You can come live with me and (Y/N) on Air Temple Island!"

"Oh...well we'd love to, but--" "Asami already invited us to live in her dad's giant mansion! From here on out, it's the gonna be the the lap of luxury for us. " Bolin grinned excitedly. "Oh hey Korra......(Y/N)?" You and the Avatar stiffened as said woman's voice echoed.

"I'm glad to see you're up and doing well, (Y/N). I was hoping you'd stop by, Korra." "Actually I was just leaving, see you guys around..sometime." You crossed your arms and avoided Asami's eyes. "What about tomorrow? I'd love for you to come visit the estate." "I don't know..I have some Avatar stuff to do." "Liar." You coughed into your fist, grinning deviously when the Avatar glared at you.

"C'mon Korra. We all deserve a little rest and relaxation after all this craziness. We could swim in Asami's pool. It'll be fun." Bolin said through Pabu with a high pitched voice. You and Korra laughed at the Earthbender. "All right, Pabu. I'll be there." "Great, see you tomorrow!" She left and before anyone could say anything, your stomach growled loudly. Your tanned cheeks turned red and you avoided their giggling gazes.

"Let's go get something to eat." Asami laughed, walking towards the exit, her hands brushing against yours. "Yes! Food!" cheered Bolin as he followed her. "We'll catch up." You said, grabbing Mako by his arm. You waited until the two were out of ear shot before turning to the firebender. "Have you made your decision?" You asked quietly.  

He refused to meet your eyes. "I don't know. They're both great but--" "But nothing, Mako. Asami and Korra are both great people, people with feelings! They deserve someone who will love them and not catch feelings for someone else, someone who can continue to build them up and catch them when they fall. They don't need or deserve someone who has mixed feelings and can't even figure out his own feelings. It's not fair to them, nor is it to anyone else. Get yourself together, because one day, there will be no one to help you!"

Gold eyes stared as you coughed slightly, breathing heavy. "Are you feeling okay?" he asked softly, reaching out to touch you. "Don't touch me!" You took a step back, glaring fiercely at him before storming out. As you followed the path out, your thoughts decided to make themselves known. 'Idiot! Why did you get so angry?' You sighed, running a hand through your hair. "I've been so angry lately and I'm not sure why..."

"It's because you care so much. " You looked around wildly to see no one there but Neo looking at you intently. You chuckled dryly albeit sarcastically walking over to Neo. "Okay, that wasn't me, there's no one here but you...silly question but did you just talk?" You asked the animal, who cuddled into your hand. "As you've stated before, there's no one here but me...so I believe that is your answer."

"HUH?!"

*Timeskip*

You walked into Air Temple Island, drained from what had happened at the gym.

Neo could talk!

"My polar-bear dog can talk....am I going crazy?" You said softly, so no one could hear you. " Ha, no young one. You can hear me just as well as you hear your family and friends. You truly are special...it's been a very long time since someone has been able to hear their animal companions." You side eyed him before asking, "Can I hear all animals?" "Yes. The spirits have given you amazing powers, and we've been waiting for them to unlock on their own. You have shown us time and time again, that you are kind of heart, courageous, protective, and you love hard. We believe this power will aide us all in the future. "

"Wow, thanks Neo.....uh, is that your name?" You asked, taking his harness off. "Yes. It is the name you gave me, so it is what I will be continued to be known as. " He paused before let out what seemed to be a polar bear dog laugh. "The same goes for Nevermore, Akira, and Gaia. " You hummed before offering Neo a apple, who chewed happily.

"Isn't that interesting."

*The next day*

You had left before Korra since she'd like to figure things out on her own, and had greeted Asami's staff with a smile and good mornings. They were used to seeing you every other week, and quite enjoyed your company. "Good morning, Mr Sato." You greeted the inventor. "Ah, (Y/N), time for your biweekly visit with Asami?" He smiled, walking with you to the guest room, correction your room.

"That's not for another few days, but I decided to come swim with Asami and the others today." Something was off about Hiroshi Sato...but you weren't sure what. "I think you just want to see Asami in the water." smirked the old man, making you blush and stutter. He laughed from his belly. "It's all right, I trust you, (Y/)." he looked from side to side before leaning close to whisper, "I'd prefer if you were with her anyways." He walked away, leaving your tanned face flushed a bright red.

*Timeskip*

You walked out to the pool, and saw Asami sitting on the edge, her back away from you. You grin and used the water to walk silently walk behind her before grabbing her by her waist and pulling her into the water with you. The green eyed beauty grinned as she swam up and looked around for you. You swam under her and put her on your shoulders, grinning up at her. "Hey, naina." She smiled down, her hair still looking flawless. "Hey pita. You're here early." You placed her on the edge, and rested on your elbows next to her.

"You know me: I love being in the water." You smiled as she pushed your bangs back to peer into your (e/c) gaze. "We need to talk..." she spoke softly. "About?" you closed your eyes, leaning into her soft hands, kicking your legs gently in the water. "You said that....you were in love with me." Every instinct in your body was telling you to run, but when you met her earnest emerald eyes, you were stuck to the side of the pool.

"I-I did? Listen, Asami, I know you're with Mako and I shouldn't have--" "Don't you dare, (Y/N), I've--" You heard Mako and Bolin approaching so you quickly swam underwater to the other side of the pool, acting nonchalant when the Earthbender jumped into the pool. "Ooh-cold!" he shivered. You all laughed as the two brothers finally got adjusted to the water and starting splashing.

A few minutes later, you were sitting next to Asami and Mako, when Asami's head butler walked in and announced, "Avatar Korra has arrived." "Hey Korra!" Mako greeted, you waved. "Glad you made it!" Asami grinned. Bolin splashed up and held his arms out. "Welcome to paradise!" He floated on his back, as you dove into the water with Asami. "Looks like you guys settled right in. "Pretty much. Except someone 'forgot' to ask her father if we could stay here."

"Yeah, but I smoothed things over with him. It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission." green eyes rolled playfully, as the two approached. "This is the greatest place in the world! Watch this, watch this." Bolin asked the head butler to dry him and Pabu off. You laughed hard when Bolin jumped right back in and the butler groaned in irritation. "So, Asami, what do you have planned for us today? Let me guess: shopping, makeovers..." Korra drawled lazily as you raised an eyebrow at her.

"Ooh, ooh! I vote makeovers!" Bolin chirped before Mako dunked him under the water. "I have something more exciting in mind." Asami winked at you, grinning to herself when your (s/c) cheeks burned red.

*Timeskip*

You cheered loudly as you drove the Sato mobiles against one of the beta testers. You crossed the finish line, and beamed at Nevermore when she hovered over your shoulder before landing. Korra and Asami approached, with helmets in their arms. "Hey (Y/N), up for a race?" Asami sent a sexy smirk towards you. You grinned widely before putting a helmet on Nevermore's tiny head.

"Let's do it, naina."

*Mini timeskip*

Your car came to the side of Asami's , and you share a smirk with the green eyed beauty and laughed merrily as you won again. "Oh that never gets old!" You turned to the dragon who was shaking with adrenaline. "Oh!" You quickly unbuckled her, and held her at arms length with an apologetic look on your face. "Sorry, girl...should've given you a warning." She huffed steam in your face, annoyed. "Hey...." you warned.

"That was amazing! I didn't think we'd make it." Korra cheered. "Well, you can't be afraid to mix it up sometimes." Asami ran a hand through her hair as the Avatar took her helmet off. "I gotta admit, I had you pegged wrong, I thought you were kind of prissy. Uh, no offense."

You and Asami chuckled as she stuttered nervously. "People usually assume I'm Daddy's helpless little girl, but I can handle myself. I mean, I've been in self defense classes since I was a kid. My dad made sure I would always be able to protect myself. (Y/N) is usually my sparring partner, and he teaches me moves that my instructors would never teach."

You grinned, remembering how fast Asami beat the city's instructors, and finally they turned towards you for help. You've been her instructor for the last 3 years and she's yet to catch up with you. "As cool as that is...I NEED TO USE THE BATHROOM!!" Bolin did the potty dance dramatically making the group laugh.

"C'mon, Drama King." You joke.

As you guys walked back to the Sato mansion, Asami's hands brushed against yours. You glanced at her from the corner of your eye  and shared a secret smile. 'We'll talk later,' was the message written across her face.

You stopped walking, feeling nervous just from a look from her.

You rubbed your hand over your face and groaned loudly.

'I am fucked....'

Heartland s14 ep 1 take 2

tumblr was supposed to save my previous post to drafts so I could add to it (and did not do it which I did not realise until I looked at my notifications and someone had reblogged it in other words OOPS sorry)

to repeat myself anyone criticising Graham for his decision to leave and the timing of it will be blocked, and I wish Graham himself all the best for his future projects

under a read more because spoilers, a rant with some swearing and lots of rambling so it got long

so first I’m going to go off topic a little bit and rant because this hurt a lot when it happened. Last September I woke up one morning to the news that my favourite character (Bellamy) from the numbers show was shot and killed by my other favourite character (Clarke) for the most stupidest reason ever (she killed Bellamy over a sketchbook which he wanted to give to the bad guys... to protect her daughter... AND THEN SHE JUST BOUNCED AND LEFT THE SKETCHBOOK THAT MIGHT HAVE ENDANGERED HER DAUGHTER ON THE FLOOR NEXT TO THE BAD GUYS THAT WERE STILL LIVING). So i was still dealing with the death of my favourite character and the subsequent dragging through the dirt of both Bellamy he died alone thinking everyone hated him. No one really mourned him, he was all but forgotten except for a few throwaway comments that ‘he was right’. No one felt regret about not believing him. No one spoke up and said they wished he could have been here on the beach at the end. He was erased from the narrative and a minor character who died in S3 and whose story had already been wrapped up overshadowed him (and almost everything else that happened in the already shitty finale*- like seriously all of humanity was forced to join a universal consciousness and you don’t have to know a lot about science fiction to know it is really bad). (and everyone thought he was dead and his gf was ready to go on a killing spree about it for revenge but when they found he was actually dead they all just shrugged it off and said he died the moment he joined the bad guys when they were standing in the presence of another bad guy who was on that side for a lot longer and was only a recent turn coat) and Clarke who was the hero of this show was turned into cause of all of humanities sins and not a hero who tried (and then gets rewarded by being let to stay with her “friends” on a beach unable to bear children because aliens turned up as a master race and killed all of humanity and those that were left were made barren? yes in the last ever episode of a seven season show we got introduced to aliens- honestly putting all I know of season 7 into words like this still makes no sense)

Bellamy was one of my favourite characters and he was done hella dirty. And Ty was another and he got given multiple love letters in just one episode and probably more to come as season 14 progresses. (I laughed as yesterday a youtuber called Hannah King made a video about the first episode of season 14 and I read the comments one of which saying that Ty was done dirty by the writers and I just??? I was hella tempted to put that rant above this part in a response to that comment good lord)

so onto Ty and Heartland

I watched the entire of season 13 in a day and cried a little when Ty and Amy got shot... and it hurt but was also very cathartic to watch because the worry and care was brought to the forefront like Ty not even realising he was shot and his panic was a very real moment

so when fandom started speculating about Ty’s death my only thought was if he did die he would do it with a complication with the gunshot wound and I was right. But it didn’t hurt as much to think about because I trust the writers even if they have made some missteps in past seasons. However, because of Bell and the faith I had in the writers back then (I trusted the writers until I remembered after the death because main character hater was promoted to head writer) I was also worried because of that.... Heartland is essentially the only ongoing show that I’m still actively watching and not just searching for spoilers.

I rewatched the first episode of season 14 twice (will probably do so again maybe)

Ty’s death was handled well, the blurring of the doctor delivering the news and Amy mentioning that the funeral was a blur (I kind of hope we get a flashback)

So it goes without saying the timing of Graham leaving and Ty dying is hard because of Covid-19 and the loss (all forms like normal routines, lives and you know what i mean I hope) that comes with it.

Because of everything in real life and the real life grief a lot of people have been going through, one of the many parts during the episode that made me tear up and cry a little was Grandpa Jack’s and Amy’s heart to heart in the fishing cabin. It was a very real moment the mentioning of how difficult Grandma Lyndy’s death was for death despite it being expected and how unexpected Ty’s was. And Jack saying “there is no right way to grieve” is possibly the most important part of it as there is no right way, and grief is not linear its not a straight line it will be very hard to deal with for a long while.

“keep me in your heart“ was a very strong start and I can’t wait to see what comes next (I hope at some point we see some old friends and Scott turn up and react to Ty’s death). And I am so glad that the cast and crew are talking about it in videos as a message to fans

in the end Ty was loved completely by the family and he loved them the same. the rest is confetti

My first review of Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time

Here’s my first impression under the cut...

The franchise as art.

Not just the Eva franchise but the concept of a franchise itself. Because franchises, as they exist in the world of filmmaking, are inherently a capitalist product designed for escapism. Let’s go to the movies for a brand new chapter in the ever-sprawling saga of commoditized characters conquering a new mile in the millennially trotted hero journey, yay! Isn’t that how you can describe the act of purchasing a ticket to the latest entry in your favorite franchise? And what’s so wrong with that, anyway? After all, we need our escapism when life becomes unbearable. It’s just a public service really!

And is Eva really that different? At the end of the day, no matter how avant-garde it can be, it’s still a product that we’ve come to consume, quite literally, again and again. Not only that, but it’s also a damn good profitable IP with millions of merchandise goods, box-office record numbers and, now, a distribution deal with one of the gods of capitalism: Amazon. Long gone are the days of non-profit experiencing of it. You can now legally pay to watch its whole audiovisual canon in Netflix and Prime.

Still, even after its paradoxical commodification, the text of Eva itself remains as a message of anti-escapism. No matter how many figures, blu-rays and streaming services you pay for, the message of Eva remains the same. A message that quite starkly opposes itself to this escapist consumerism. Even if, ironically, is this very message that, due to its humanity, has touched the hearts of millions who have then turned it into another comfort food. This is so sad, alexa play komm, susser tod…

Now, cynicism aside, the reason 3.0+1.0 elevates the concept of a franchise to an art form is, quite simply, because, at its best, art is a method of communication delivering a message that could only be delivered through its chosen medium. I could very easily tell you to go outside and touch some grass, talk to your parents and hug your dearest, but that’d never have the same impact as experiencing the Eva franchise from start to finish.

3.0+1.0 is a film that can’t work without experiencing all the films and TV episodes before it. I mean, it has its own beginning, middle and end but, really, its message can’t be as impactful without the other entries in its franchise. The film itself rehashes images and situations we’ve come to intimately know from its predecessors. Not only that but it converses with them, presenting nuanced and overt contrasts of key moments. Particularly in its final act, we see the reversal and echoes of a lot of moments from End of Evangelion. Asuka gets mangled, not by outside forces, but by her own doing. Misato gets shot but she survives this. Ritsuko shots Gendo, but doesn’t kill him. Shinji doesn’t punish Gendo by devouring him through Unit-01, but instead saves him by getting close to him. This last one might be one of the most heart-wrenching moments in the whole movie, which, it’s worth noting, serves as the wholesome counterpart to EoE’s bitter ending. To say nothing of the contrast 3.0+1.0 presents to EoE’s beach scene…

But these are all narrative points that, with some serious talent, could even be conveyed through literary form and film, as we know, its powerful because its an audiovisual medium. And here’s where Eva, time and again, separates itself from most, if not all, franchises in recent memory. Its images are not only narrative but discursive. I’d even argue that, come its ending, Eva uses images that don’t really advance its plot, but rather help to cement its discourse, its message. And its been doing that since eps 25-26… The last minutes of Eva will always be a Brechtian assault on the senses with images that demand to be studied and interpreted. They’re not there to finish the bedtime story with a kiss on the forehead of your overworked soul, but to shake it out of its zombie state and fill you with emotions you can’t even describe through words until much later, if at all… I believe that’s why a lot of us have come back to Eva again and again. Not necessarily for its plot, but for the rise of emotions and thoughts that bolt through your core as you experience its final moments and how they re-paint the whole journey you’ve just travelled to get there.

3.0+1.0 is filled with such images that, one day, I’d love to analyze. I’m still too shocked from having watched it almost 20 hrs ago and this is already too long, so I’ll leave this task for subsequent viewings… still my mind can’t help but replay certain images over and over, even as I write this… from Misato looking at the photo of her son and Shinji… Kaworu crying as Shinji extends his hand to him… the juxtaposition of Unit-01 lying on its side, staring at the phallic ruins of Nerv HQ, and Shinji, on the same position and equally sized, staring at the piano he played with Kaworu… baby Shinji blatantly rejecting Gendo, only to find comfort with his mom, and baby Asuka painfully looking at this from afar… to the shot of Shinji and Rei, discussing the neon genesis, on an dismantled theater, as frames from the TV anime are projected onto them and the brick wall behind them… I can’t word what these images mean yet, but I’m looking forward to doing it one day…

I suppose this has turned into a long ramble, but I’m still sure of my opening thought. 3.0+1.0 takes elements of every entry on the Evangelion franchise to express a message that could only be conveyed with such impact by having consumed the entire franchise beforehand, and it does so in a way that doesn’t perpetuate the comfortable escapism of other franchises. Its very message of anti-escapism and use of images that converse emotionally, aesthetically, and intellectually with the viewer prevent it from being purely a capitalist product designed for escapism. It’s a piece of art, worth of being discussed at the same level of any work from a grand master of any other type of art. But it’s also a franchise… hopefully this will inspire more franchises as art forms.

And now, as a post-scriptum, because no review of Eva is worth anything without some shameless personal history, I must say that my journey with Eva has been like none other piece of media… I was introduced by it at 18 years old, fresh out of high school, by the person who would become my best friend, and I remember, back then, finding it incredibly comforting and enigmatic. It helped me through a period of drastic change in my life, from changing majors halfway from English to Film, to becoming an older brother at 19 (after a life of being an only child). I was incredibly depressed and struggled with addiction for years after that. I related to Shinji and his perpetual running away from life but, now, seven years later I got to see the conclusion to that journey my best friend invited me to… I also earned my bachelor’s degree in film, have a comfortable job and have been sober for 10 months. I don’t run away as much but I’d be lying if I wasn’t still, somewhat, disconnected from most people in my life. To be honest, I related so much to Gendo’s story on this film and that scared me. It’s still hard to let people in but, still, there’s been some growth. Small victories that allowed me to accept this final film’s message as completely valid. It’s just so wholesome, isn’t it? And yet, there’s a bittersweetness to it… like in every ending, you’re glad it happened but it’s painful coming to terms that it’s over. I cried for a good thirty minutes after it was over, washing the tears away, only to stare at my reflection and turn into a sobbing mess… I’ll never get to experience anything like this for the first time and that’s just incredibly sad… still, I’m so fucking glad for it all, even the wait (as shorter as it was for me) and I do believe I’ll be able to say bye-bye, all of Evangelion… one day.

Couldn’t agree more with this. Honestly, I agree with every single word on here. I feel like most mh shippers think that us rh shippers just ship it because we hate mako or something but i actually love him so much??? and i, in no way, try to undermine mh’s relationship. i always thought it was so cute and soft and tender, since the first ep. i LOVE, absolutely LOVE their friendship. and i think haru DOES care a ton about mako. he does. and they obviously have a special bond, they’ve known each other since so long. they care about each other and their friendship is so sweet?? i love how haru gives mako the fishes in first season and a lot of other moments of them. and i said this in a post when i first watched the first season, but again, like you say, i GET why people ship them. i get it. they’re cute and their relationship is actually pretty good but it just??? i don’t know, what especially got ME to ship rh instead of mh since the very first ep is how clearly DIFFERENT rh’s dynamic was since the very start. how clearly different haru reacts to rin. he becomes ALIVE when he sees him. his eyes, his whole expression just lights up when he sees rin came back. you don’t see haru act like that towards anyone else. SURE, he cares DEEPLY about mako and, like i said, their relationship is special, he holds him dear and it’s clear, but it’s just different with rin. his reactions are always so visceral when it comes to rin, since they were kids. he pretends like he doesn’t care sometimes but it’s so obvious that he does, kid!haru had a crush and no one can tell me otherwise. it’s all over the place. sure, with haru everything is subtle, but the thing that’s so amazing about rh is that you don’t even have to LOOK for it. even when haru is all subtle about his feelings, he always REACTS visceral with rin, and that’s the thing. idk, when i knew mh was more popular than rh it just… baffled me. i was so surprised, because to me, it was always so obvious how their relationship was a LOT more strong friendship-like than rh. and ngl, it’s frustrating for me, too LOL, but i guess we have to live with that.😂😂 everyone has different opinions, and i guess a lot of people are drawn to them bc of the childhood friend trope… tho you also kinda have it on rh but okay😂🤷‍♀️ it just makes me sad how i’ve seen so much hate around from both sides. and i’ve also come across a LOT of mh shippers that keep telling rh shippers “no, you should ship sousuke and rin and mako and haru, that’s how it should be” and it makes me so sad bc ALL ships are valid???? and it just sounds like they’re always trying to invalidate our ship but oh well. I said a lot in my previous response to you, so for your sake and for anybody reading I’ll refrain from repeating myself (when it comes to Free! and my thoughts/opinions, I could repeat myself 10000x and not even bat an eye ...but I won’t do that to y’all haha). But YES Makoto is a precious big squish, his friendship with Haru is important, and MakoHaru do care so so much about each other. No sense in trying to undermine that.

BUT THE RINHARU RELATIONSHIP 😩💥🔥🤯😭😭. I LOVE that you used the word visceral, because that’s it EXACTLY. Haru has a visceral reaction to Rin—and vice versa, but the fact that HARU reacts this way is powerfully telling of just how much he feels about Rin. From the very first episode, Haru barely reacted to anything—he was a rather apathetic teen who really only longed to be in the water. But then enter in Rin Matsuoka, and not only does Haru viscerally react whenever Rin is mentioned, but he also has multiple flashbacks of RIn before he even knew Rin was back in the country.

Because Haru doesn’t react this way—so raw and, and you said, viscerally—with anyone else, I just cannot see him not having special feelings for anyone else aside from Rin. It just makes sense, as he never showed these kinds of feelings towards anyone else in his life since the time Rin returned to Australia after their falling out-race. For me, If there really was potential for a reciprocated ship-relationship between Haru and any other character aside from Rin (within the context of Season 1), it would’ve either happened already considering Makoto had been there the entire time and no sparks or flames, or Haru would’ve been so focused on a new character that wasn’t Rin who had newly entered his life (which, as we know, he wasn’t). But no, Haru was so fixated on Rin, it completely baffled Rei, the newcomer to the group, as to why Haruka was so obsessed with Rin. I mean, if that alone doesn’t blatantly confirm that Haru has some pretty strong feelings towards Rin, then idk what to tell folks who are in denial. 🤷🏽‍♀️

KID!RIN IS THE REASON I FELL FOR ADULT RIN. Like, I knew that this bright and dazzling shooting star of a kid was still in Rin somewhere, and since that Rin stole my heart within the first 75 seconds of the anime, by default part of me was stolen by adult Rin, too haha (though ngl, it took like 4 episodes for me to start sympathizing with him, but when I did wooooosh!! XD). AND YES THE WAY I DIED DURING EPISODE 12!!! I literally covered my mouth and was silent-screeching into my hand, waving my other hand wildly in the air, had to pause the video to collect myself multiples times and basically fell apart and lost my mind over the entirety of episode 12 😂 I have my “recap” here if you’re interested in getting a closer look at my subsequent meltdown, haha.

deku vs kacchan part 2 is my favorite ep of the entire series actually. i’ve watch that ep so many times as well it’s just perfect. i got into them when i watched that episode actually! the voice acting god..... literally shivers. now that i think about it it might even be my favorite anime ep of all time help. i just love how bakugou lets it all out and we get to see that side of him.. the insecure scared child he tries to hide. god i could ramble about it forever idk just love it. + "you could relive your moments together instead of replaying them" OOF YES OK LOVE THIS WORDING and it links with "thinking about how history was undoubtedly always good at repeating itself"! Thats all shes been doing! replaying what happened instead of taking the jump to try it all again with him :') and the repetition through this section was super cool, really made it feel like a waterfall of realization happening all at once!!!!!!

+ yea so in conclusion i thought this was a v important and clever chapter and im v excited and sad for this final chapter oof. good luck writing it ;) <3

the way u manage to still surprise me even after all these chapters. please i tell u this every single damn time but i don’t think i’ll ever be able to convey how grateful i am for u. u have been so so integral in me successfully writing this even when i’m low in confidence. even when i put out something that i feel iffy about, you’ve still managed to somehow highlight the parts you liked which means like ... so incredibly much to me i can’t even YOU MAKE ME ATTACHED TO THIS STORY FOR NO REASON 

the way i’m a fake fan and haven’t seen the new episode yet i’m gonna hurl i’m waiting to watch it after i finish all my quizzes and assignments for the week i can’t believe i live like this but i’ve seen clips and ss and i wanna vomit how tf does he look like that huh make it make sense

i just think senses are so much more important than . actual thoughts. idk like for me, i have a song associated with almost every aspect of my life. listening to it reminds me of either a memory, a time in my life, or a person/event. i wish i utilized something like that a lot more throughout the story because i also feel very emotional when i hear a song that reminds of a part of my life. so i’m glad someone could appreciate it because i tried to make like a recurring theme earlier, when she was crying that one night and he comes home smelling like sugar idk i think like ... it’s just something she associates with him now (rightfully so) and i think something like that is meaningful idk i’m rambling now 

yeah she’s ..... hhhh she’s frustrating. she’s really convicted in her ways sort of, or stubborn i suppose, in a lot of aspects, especially when it comes to him. she’s never really gotten the chance to prove herself or had some big “self realization” sort of thing that’s been meaningful enough for her to change her ways. i wanted to sort of use this chapter to kind of highlight that, because with the way it was going, it was evident that she didn’t really have a reason to act. i wanted to reflect like hey, if she still doesn’t take the chance after this, after realizing how much he means to her, then she’s literally a lost cause like girl even i, the writer, do not know how to help u - 

PFFFT YEAH A LOT OF PEOPLE THOUGHT THAT ABT THE SISTER. idk ... we’ll see ... 

and this was in no way a redemption for the sister i guess. she still sucks, family sucks a lot sometimes tbh, but i think i kinda wanted to show that it’s a balancing act between them (even though i made her absolutely hateable in the beginning lol). i wish i could’ve expanded on the relationship between reader and sister a bit more, but it seemed sort of frivolous in the grand scheme of things. but i will say i think reader needed some outside intervention to realize like hey ..... this is actually kind of important to you and you should do something about it. idk? 

THERE WERE SOME LINES I REALLY REALLY LIKED WRITING. frankly listening to supercut did so much good for me i made jac listen to it on repeat w me for like. two hours. she a real one for that. BUT i really liked some of the lines in here (even if i wasn’t too content with the thing as a whole .....)

thank you so so so much for thinking it was a decent installment. idk i have mixed feelings about it, but i don’t think i would’ve been able to justify the ending without it. thank you for supporting it (and me), i absolutely, truly, wholeheartedly adore you!!!

Long-Ass Opinionated Word Vomit w some Gulf Kanawut Appreciation thrown in

(I’ve been putting off posting stuff about the special episode until this monstrosity was finished, and I think it’s as close as it’s gonna get, so hopefully tomorrow night I can actually rb all the beautiful TT posts in my drafts!!!)

WARNING for positive discussion involving the TharnType shower scene, and some vague shade thrown at SOME, NOT ALL, bl actors. Remember kids, this is entertainment, and we all take in entertainment differently. This is also extremely verbose (seriously I talk too fucking much, good god!) for a sentiment I could probably express in just a paragraph, so I’m sorry in advance, but I’ll try to get on with it.

Topic: I’m immensely thankful that Type was played by Gulf.

This is for many reasons, of course; I’ve said repeatedly in my tags about how much I love Type and how fully fleshed out he is, all thanks to the care and research Gulf gave the part. But one of the biggest reasons I’m grateful for him is the kiss scenes. And just so it’s clear that I’m not speaking (entirely) superficially, let me offer a bit of context:

Anyone familiar with live action BL knows what awkward kissing looks like. It’s gotten much better recently, but there are innumerable examples of a bl couple nailing the adoring stare, or doing perfect witty banter, only to fall utterly flat during kiss scenes. I shit you not, I’ve actually given names to some of the kinds of bad kissing I’ve seen over the years. (The Balloon Knot, the Pac Man, the Clench...etc)

It sounds quite comical, and sometimes it is but, and again, this is just my opinion, it’s very hard to believe an onscreen couple is into each other if they can’t kiss decently. And sadly the biggest cause I’ve seen of this is some actors’ reluctance to kiss another male. It’s not the case every time, of course! Censorship is to blame in some circumstances, or an actor being generally inexperienced, poor directing; there’s a plethora of reasons that aren’t related to underlying homophobia. I’m not suggesting some insidious conspiracy here.

I have to admit though, I went into TharnType pretty much expecting that sort of reluctant-awkward kissing. I wasn’t worried about Mew, because I had seen his love scenes in What the Duck, and I was vaguely aware that he was a member of The Community. So I was sold on him. I was just worried about This Other Guy (Gulf) back when I started watching the series, and I think that was a little before episode three aired. I had tried the first two eps, then a couple days later episode three was out. Which, as you know, episode three has the shower scene. Aka, the first mutual kiss scene. Let me do a quick (subjective) breakdown:

At first, Type’s mouth is Clenched (tm) shut, but he purses his lips first, and then he gives the biggest indicator that he’s at least somewhat enjoying what’s happening: he’s kissing Tharn back. He eventually pushes him away, but there’s confusion on his face when he tells Tharn to let him go. After that his expression melts. He doesn’t try to stop Tharn again, and even starts to caress and fondle him back. It’s not fully reciprocal, but it is close.

Throughout the whole episode to that point Type’s dealing with a burgeoning attraction to Tharn, someone that he believes he should still harbor hatred towards. It’s this mental conflict from the character that makes his hesitation in the shower kiss understandable. But even though it was in-character for that scene, I still wasn’t sold yet; I’m so jaded in this subject I *fully* expected the rest of the kissing scenes to play out as the Clench.

Then episode four happened. It’s worth noting that I started watching episodes live at that point, and in the live airing all you saw of that epic love scene was the first shot where Type grabbed Tharn around his neck and kissed him (his arm censoring the mouth-to-mouth contact, of course.) So after that I was still nervous going into the uncensored segment, compounded by Type’s lack of response during the overhead kiss shot. But the second they changed camera angles, and Type initiated that second kiss, holy shit, it was incredible!!! He was fully reciprocating, his expressions were on point, and there was no awkwardness to be seen. It wasn’t just good kissing, it was sensuous kissing, between two equally enthusiastic participants. Cut to me mentally eating my words.

Now with Type’s character background and resulting homophobia, lesser actors (I won’t name names but yes, I do mean lesser) would have taken that as an out for the kissing parts. ‘Wait, this guy’s homophobic, I don’t have be into the kisses! Phew!’ Thus giving us really unnatural love scenes. Instead what Gulf did, especially in those initial kisses, was convey Type’s desire overcoming his resistance through meticulous use of nuance. (Nuance is another thing I constantly praise Gulf for.)

But I don’t think that kind of portrayal would have possible if there had been an actor in the part with reservations *cough*homophobia*cough* about kissing other men. And ftr, Gulf said upfront that he didn’t see a difference between bl acting and doing a m/f character, long before the show aired. He said it was an actor’s job to portray whatever the character is. (And let me take a moment to squee about Mew’s proud thumbs up when Gulf said that.)

I think it’s thanks to that lack of prejudice, plus their indomitable chemistry, that Mew and Gulf were able to do such beautiful kissing scenes. Every single one is immersive and natural, so I didn’t doubt for a second that these characters were falling in love with each other. Additionally I wasn’t sitting there wrinkling my face wishing they’d just be done already. (Quite the opposite, in fact, but I digress.)

All of this babble just to say, that I’m so grateful for the Type that Gulf gave us. And like I said, his talent extends far beyond love scenes. How many of us cried during episode four when Type talked about the molestation?? And the confession in episode six??? How many of us at the end of the series found ourselves in love with a guy who made his roommate’s life hell just for being gay way back in episode one??? I won’t keep rambling but seriously, someone give this guy an award, ANY AWARD, he’s such a great actor and he’s a frigging ROOKIE!!!

Ep 13 (warning spoilers ahead)

I've too many emotions and can't deal with them so I gotta make a post about it. Oh my god.

Can I just say that I cried for unnecessary reasons during this ep. The main reason being my pure boy eunseom finally saw some light and what finer light that having the momo tribe looking out for you. But I'll get back to that later

I've too admit that the opening wasn't necessarily all that great. I understand that they were trying to recap and had to cover the formalities but the opening lacked the oomf I was looking for. This Ep in arthdal was mostly about people coming to terms with what we all saw in part 2. Tanya seeing her beloved wahan. The asa tribe glorifying tanya. The daekhan forces at her service (cant wait to see mugwangs heart ripped out that little piece of trash)

Tagon establishing himself in power and glory basically eveything going well and happy for them. Pfft aramun. I can't wait for eunseom to get to arthdal and claim his title. But really from the arthdal side of things it was a little lackluster. Heartwarming and amusing yes but it didn't have that strong force I expected. And that's fine because eunseom took care of it all for the rest of the Eps.

It's going to be an interesting power struggle up at arthdal. I'm curious as to what saya, tanya, tagon and taealhas moves will be. And who will side with them. What's mubaek and yang cha's role going to be (WHAT WAS WITH THAT MOMENT YANGCHA AND TANYA SHARED). Also I don't even want to mention that sleazy wahan member. I can't even remember his name but that piece of shit better be beat up by the end of this series. I want him to cry and beg eunseom and dalsae for forgiveness.

Now lemme get to what i actually wanna elaborate on. Eunseom and everything to do with eunseom.

I think I spent the whole of part 2 whining about how eunseom was treated. I mean the dude is still dragged through the mud and freezing in cold climates and basically still fighting someone or the other. But there's joy in watching eunseom lose that helplessness he developed in part 2. He's learned his lesson and he's come back still kind but not nearly as naive. I'M SO THRILLED THAT THEY DIDN'T RUIN HIS CHARACTER BY MAKING HIM ALL DARK AND WITHOUT A SENSE OF HUMOUR. But instead they retained all that is great about eunseom but gave him more strength. The right mental kind and I can't wait to see what he uses that for. This boy is headed for great things okay. Mark my words eunseom is going to shine. Lowkey wish he'd find some clean clothes and like wash his face or something though. I guess that's why we've saya. The other side of the coin the neat, dainty and classy side.

Everything about the escape, to them heading to the location Satunik told them about to meeting that stunning Karika - Xabara of the Momo tribe. I'm always so amazed by the world building arthdal has worked on. Its stunning to say the least and I thought the neanthals were as exotic as arthdal could get but nope in walked in the momo tribe. Considering how the daekhan forces decided to walk away that's saying a lot about their power. EUNSEOM HAS A GROUP LIKE THAT BACKING HIM I'M SO ECSTATIC I CANT EVEN EXPLAIN.

On a side note two absolutely adorable moments this ep.

1. Eunseom and Ipsaeng hugging each other as they nearly freeze to death (I had to hold back the tears)

2. Ipsaeng and eunseom playing with that baby (I cant even, these precious boys)

Ipsaengs the kind of character arthdal was missing and the perfect comrade for Eunseom. He's not definitive in his stance and he tests eunseom's patience constantly. All things that help make a good leader eh? He be teaching eunseom how to put up with people. He's certainly the comedy this show needed and I love how theyve now tied him into the story.

So now eunseom be wandering around half bare back with his igutu marks showing. Completely unaware of the fact that his mark is now on a flag carried by such a fierce tribe. I'd been waiting for that scene since part 2 ended. It was certainly worth the wait. I cried when Karika said that until they find and repay him they'll carry the flag around. It was precious and I was just happy because this is such a huge step for eunseom okay. Its his ordinary kindness that opens these doors for him. It's just... Precious....

I could keep rambling on and harping on minor details but I'd rather not. Mostly because I want to go rewatch that ep. Arthdal chronicles has a lot to cover. I'm worried about how they are going to handle their pacing and content. There's still so much left unanswered. It's not like Eunseom tearing down arthdal is all that's left for this season. I still don't know why they came all that way looking for Olmadae and I feel like that's very important. There's going to be the coupe. There's tanyas rise to power. Theres saya and all semi precious semi psychotic moments. THERE'S THE TWINS MEETING EACH OTHER MOMENT. Needless to say there's a lot going on and I can't wait.

having finished both epilogues: i honestly didn’t hate either of them. candy was weird and silly, meat was significantly more difficult to digest and had a lot more Plot to it, as we’d guessed. more detailed rambling under the cut:

jane as a genocidal maniac? i really didn’t expect that. from the pov of someone who’s passively reading this, it made for an interesting plot quirk, but from the pov of someone who’s been a fan of hs for years and who knows these characters it left a bitter taste in my mouth. poor jane :,( like fuck her and what she did but poor jane’s characterization

the....the h*locaust comparisons in candy...bad. they were bad. i did not like that hussie directly linked what was going on with the oppression of the trolls to the h*locaust, even if it was done in a serious and non-jokey tone, especially due to the jane-as-trump comparisons sprinkled throughout meat + candy

roxy and calliope as nonbinary!!!!!!!!! BITCH i yelled at the top of my lungs when roxy said “i go by “they””

i thought it was interesting how when roxy was with calliope in meat, they identified as nonbinary and started leaning towards a more masculine identity. they even said that they might have wanted a kid and a mans one day growing up as a girl on earth. and THEN, in candy, when roxy ends up with john, she continues to identify as a girl because he never encouraged her to explore that part of herself

huss rambling about gender...it was. a little off the mark, but i think it was with good intentions and good spirit, and i appreciated what he was trying to say. that being said my opinion is a little less important on this subject than those who are trans + nonbinary

the phrase “davekat is canon”......this kills the man

dirk as an omnipresent narrator, fulfilling his destiny as the prince of heart (destroyer of self) by infiltrating and destroying others’ senses of self and controlling their lives and their narrative in meat......or dirk going insane with depression after john makes his choice, beheading himself one last time because he is now irrelevant to the narrative and destroying himself that way in candy. idk about yall but that feels.....fitting to me

speaking of dirk and davekat: him forcing them to kiss....was Bad. dirk made a very good bad guy, he became very easy to hate

the flanderization of the characters was on purpose. it’s supposed to feel like that. they’re outside of canon now, and without a narrative structure to guide them and give them purpose, all they are is a bundle of Traits and Characteristics floating around inside their bodies. it’s a parody of a fanfiction, at least candy is, and if you read it that way then you’re much more likely to enjoy it

jade’s a space hoe and i love it

i wish we’d heard from equius and nepeta :,( i miss them so much + i think they’re the only ones we didn’t hear from/weren’t in the eps at all

terezi and john.......i really cried, both in meat and candy. i wish she’d come home in candy, even if she was going to die, just to say bye to john

john + depression. i saw a few people criticize it but it doesn’t feel that off to me? it makes sense. dude went through a lot and he didn’t leave his house forever and when shit like that goes unchecked its a mess on your mind.

vriska the human and vriska the troll bonding over their shared love of being bastards warmed my heart

gamzee.............................bad as always. i did miss his presence tho he’s a very fun character to watch stumble around and be weird

karkat and meenah...weird. not terrible. just unexpected

so y’know overall:

candy pissed a lot of people off, but it made so much more sense if you read meat first

dirk made a great villain

terezi and john forever

davekat is real, which i can get behind

the characters were weird on purpose

neither of them were satisfying conclusions that made a whole lot of sense but i didn’t really expect anything honest to god satisfying in the first place

if i think of anything else i’ll add em on
