percy jackson tv show airs tomorrow.

it's been 3,5 years since the announcement. 3,5 years of waiting. we were getting scraps of information - that it will be developed by disney+, who the showrunners will be.

2020 turned to 2021. still waiting.

then 2022 came. we saw percy for the first time and we loved him immidiately. then we got more and more. annabeth, grover, other campers. the gods.

we got the first teaser trailer. it showed us barely nothing, but we couldn't have been happier. it showed camp half-blood. it felt like home.

2022 turned to 2023. still waiting.

we got another teasers. a full trailer, which finally showed us more, which made the anticipation even more anxious. we had our doubts, but we were hopefull.

the release date dropped. we feared we'll have to wait till 2024, but it seemed like the christmas came early - quite literally, 20th december to be precise.

the actors strike was long, we were sad and angry we might not see our precious, wonderful actors promoting something they loved so much. but the studios bowed to the creators. actors won. we all won.

2023 almost came to an end. november, the last month ever without percy jackson tv show, ended. still waiting.

and then december started. we got posters, clips, photos. so much content we craved for when the only thing we had was an announcement. we were suddenly spoiled with so much content, that we weren't even able to see everything.

the nyc premiere took place. first reviews came. the critics approved it. the lucky fans, who saw the first episodes, loved it. we were ecstatic.

and suddenly it's december 19th. the wait is almost over.

percy jackson tv show airs tomorrow.

so prepare your camp half-blood t-shirts. wear your beat necklaces with pride. have some blue snacks. celebrate the way you want.

rejoice, demigods, this is our time. we made it.

schlatt had been seeing more of his old self lately, back when he was 20 years old, for some reason those old photos and videos had been making their rounds online

which led to comments that he shouldn’t be reading but he does, it’s like a car crash you can’t look away from

they were hurtful and made him feel awful but he couldn’t stop

‘guess he really did become a big guy lmao’

‘he fell off once he became an alcoholic’

comment after comment of insults, making him doubt himself

he thought he would be over it by the end of the day, not let it bring his mood down

but he couldn’t help but stop to look in the mirror for a while

he just looked at himself

his arms, legs, thighs, stomach and worst of all his face

he took a moment looking at small details you wouldn’t notice from a glance

the more he stared at himself the worse it got, the more he noticed wrong with him

the more he wondered how could you ever love someone like him?

he wasn’t particularly charismatic or charming or good looking

he had only gotten worse over the years, his peak probably being in 2020, when he was better, not as soft, clean shaven

his thoughts consumed him before suddenly he was interrupted by you, wrapping your arms around his waist and sleepily muttering

“comin’ to bed soon big guy?”

he looked at you before letting out a deep sigh “yeah, in a minute..” he said softly before you gently pulled him in the direction of the bed

“c’mon, i can’t sleep without my pretty boy there” you say softly as he smiles

“okay, let’s go” he says petting your hair and waddling to the bed with you wrapped around his waist

you let go and lay down comfortably, opening your arms for him, he laid down beside you, taking in your warmth once you both were comfortable

“n/n…” he asks quietly

“hm?” you mutter sleepily

“do you still think i’m handsome?” he asks softly, his voice shaking

“yeah, you’re the most handsome man i have ever gotten to see” you say running your fingers through his hair “i love you so much and you don’t understand how much i love you, no matter what, no matter how old or anything, im gonna love you no matter what” you say pressing a kiss to his forehead “people can say whatever they want, anything, but i’ll love you no matter what”

he lets out a sigh of relief, now starting to calm down

“you’re my big guy, i’ll love you at any size”

“what the heck is target45” the one found footage arg i wanted to make back in 2020 but i had no other leverage to act on it (it wasn’t even supposed to be objects, i just decided that like yesterday, lol)

LIKE.

okay let me explain the easy lore of what target45 was supposed to be

elijah (yellow pages page thing in the middle, they/he) is the campus journal photographer in their college. they just so happen to be roommates with their childhood friend, jeremy (the acrylic paint container thing on the left, he/him). on their free time, they just decide to take pics of everything around them and all, and then came their new roommate to cut the rent costs (/hj), max (the emf thing on the right, she/he/they). she’s into the supernatural, so he just likes to creep out the two, but overall they have a good bond.

they take pictures one day and max notices subtle crosshair marks aimed at elijah at some photos. the three think since jeremy likes to pick on him sometimes, it was him, but duh, it wasn’t.

yadda yadda yadda, long story short, it gets worse, now they’re paranoid and on the run from whatever it was that’s targeting elijah. but to be honest, i only said that because i forgot who the main threat character was lol.

anyway yeah, uh

BlackRose was my number one dream cosplay as a kid! I loved .hack//Infection, Mutation, Outbreak and Quarantine so much. I originally made this costume in 2015, but this is my rebuild from 2020. For the armor, everything was made out of EVA foam, and the breastplate base was an old strapless bra I had lying around. I re-purposed the tights, loincloth fabric, and wig (just re-styled it) from my 2015 cosplay, as well as the sword that was built with the help of my brother-in-law back then too. Everything else was created new, and since I was furloughed at the time I had all the time in the world to get everything perfectly how I wanted.

I even designed the tattoos myself on Illustrator! They're available for purchase on my ko-fi.

Posting this to tumblr, as well. Breaking my silence here because I am being accused of something fucking heinous. My ex is now claiming I "groomed" them when they were 16 and I was 18. This is mathematically impossible. We are 7 months apart in age. They were born April 2000, I was born August 1999. More evidence debunking this claim is presented below the readmore. Evidence includes unedited screencaps from our chatlogs over the years, my literal drivers license, and screenshots directly from their twitter.

They have also made claim that I manipulated them when we broke up. This is also untrue. As far as I was aware, the breakup was entirely amicable. As proof, here is our conversation on telegram, dated July 3rd, 2020. The last time I even interacted with them was on this date.

If you still have doubts at this, I am more than willing to submit photos of my driver's license with my date of birth as additional hard evidence. anything that happened between us was between two consenting people of similar age, again unless they lied to me about their age. In fact, just to help illustrate my point: Consent was and is important to me and always has been. Here is a conversation from 2018 (while we were still dating) in which I explicitly mention I would not do anything to them/with them without consent.

I am deeply, deeply hurt that our previous relationship is being twisted and taken advantage of like this. I cared a great deal about them and have wished nothing but the best for them. Please do not engage with them or harrass them. I am merely setting the record straight. EDITED AS OF 10:47 PM, 04/10/2024 I'm editing to add additional context and information, pulled riectly from my own twitter thread on the matter. Just one final bit of proof. since I was asked for it. Here is my license, with anything particularly vulnerable scrubbed for my own personal safety. I was born August 9th, 1999.

Just to again, provide absolute mathematical proof that their claim is straight up wrong: Based on the ages listed in their bio for the last several years and our own conversations, they were born in april of 2000. Making them 24 as of 3 days ago. I am 24.

Their claim is that I groomed them when I was 18 and they were 16. Here it is, directly from their twitter. Our birthdays are literally only 7 months and 30 days apart. There is literally no way for me to be 18 when they were 16.

Yes. This does mean I was underage when I joined the community, as I joined in august of 2016. It was something deeply wrong of me and I do apologize. Starting out my interactions with the community on a basis that I was older than I actually was was incredibly fucked of me It is one of my biggest regrets, but it is entirely self inflicted. I do not expect anybody to forgive me for that and if anybody wishes to no longer be in contact with me for that, I understand and do not blame you. I am bringing this all to light in order to clear my name against these accusations. I have done wrong shit in my past. I lied about myself for years and quietly adjusted when the guilt got to me. But I never once did anything to Nova with the intent to harm or groom them. I never manipulated or purposely mistreated them. I have records in the form of chatlogs to show that I tried to be there for them, doing all i could as a partner. I will not be sharing these unless necessary, as I do not wish to publicize their struggles with mental health. Ultimately, maybe this is a direct consequence of me lying when I was young. In a way I am reaping when I sowed. I dont know If I ever told Nova my true age, and perhaps this misunderstanding is the root. We were both minors when we started dating, in October of 2016. I do not blame nova for levying these accusations if that is the case. Nor do I wish any sort of ill will or harm on them. I've stated it before, and I will say it again: Please do not pursue them or harass or bother them. Leave them be. I simply wanted to set the record straight

I'm new here so sorry if you've talked about it before, but what's the tea between Austin and Olivia deJonge? a while ago I heard someone say that they had something during the filming of Elvis but that they are no longer close and don't follow each other on Instagram. they also said that Austin was unfaithful to Vanessa with her, but tbh I don't give these rumors about celebrities cheating much credibility unless they are 100% confirmed 😅 thanks!!

oh, my sweet summer child…*pats your head*. this has become a veryyy contentious topic on my blog so i don’t talk about it much anymore but since you’re a new fan looking for info, as was i once, i will do one Final brain dump about it.

he still follows her and her finstas that i don’t think she uses anymore lol, but yes olivia unfollowed him in september. something that is funny (at least to me) within the context that said unfollow was when she went out with sophie turner and taylor swift. like…what did blondie say that pushed you ever the edge girl LOL. then little miss instagram anxiety unfollowed 100 random accounts the next day trying to pretend it wasn’t selective.

this is also a little contentious because there isn’t proof proof in the form of like kissing photos or something (just beach pap photos from nov 2020 where they aren’t touching each other haha). but in my humble opinion they were involved during filming.

timeline gets a little messy at the start, but i do think re: some late december early january gossip about him being seen with olivia that austin and v were broken up a hot minute before it came out publicly on jan 14th 2020 so 🤷🏼‍♀️. don’t think it was some big affair. they were def broken up before jan 2nd, a day that will leave in infamy lmfao. olivia posted a photo in austin’s shirt, which v fans clocked immediately bc he’d wore in it on vacation with v. and this was jan 2nd, two weeks before the breakup went public. i wasn’t in the fandom for this, but as ive been told it was a real mess. olivia went private briefly, deleted the pics, asked the society fans to take the photos down and it was the beginning of instagram becoming the seemingly anxiety inducing thing for that that it is now.

(ex: after the oscars last year she posted some elvis filming throwbacks on her story as a nice little end of the era thing. one of her and austin she wrote ‘so proud 🥀 @austinbutler’ on. she then deleted that story, reposted it, deleted it again, and reposted it without the text.)

and i mean yeah- big (probably intentional) goof on her part with the shirt thing. but idk. she was 21 at the time, and i’m willing to give 21 year olds a little girl what are you doing grace.

whatever happened between her and austin, the most she’s done re ‘shade’ is liking a comment someone left on her page saying she deserved better when he was seen with lily rose and something got sent to deuxmoi that said he’d cheated on her (imo he didn’t. she was just hurt bc seeing him move on stung, or maybe the door that should have been fully shut wasn’t. lily was august 2021, he left australia march 2021)- and hanging out with v a handful of times mid 2022 (though she herself never posted about it, it was either other people or paps).

a lot of people on here reallyyyy don’t like her, but i’m a fan so that’s my girl. i have a real big soft spot for her, and a while ago when a friend of mine in the fandom at the time told me ‘oh the internet wasn’t nice to her at all’ in the months after the shirt debacle it really hurt my heart.

even with a little smidgeee of shade as explained above ^ i think she’s handled whatever maybe not so positive feelings she has towards him reasonably. they seemed to get a long just fine and happy during elvis press- esp so in toronto which my fav interviews of the two of them are from bc that press tour stop was just them and baz. she’s never said a negative world about him publicly, and i doubt she ever will. the most candid she’s ever been about elvis filming was an interview earlier this year where she said she did ‘a lot of growing up on that job’ and that she sees her life as before and after elvis. i think that’s the most “deep” she’ll ever go down that road, at least for a long while.

between her unfollowing him in sept, turning off her tagged photos in feburary. and recently deleting a comment v left on a post of hers within 30 seconds (i presume bc she knew just like we did that v was doing that for drama/attention, it was right after austin’s esquire interview where he briefly, respectfully talked about her), i think she’s genuinely trying to move on with her life. which can be hard! i never get over anyone! and if my personal read is right that she was a mix between a rebound and the priscilla to his elvis when he was really living in that man’s head that’s even more of an idk…niche heartbreak to have to wrestle with? whether the other party actually did anything wrong or not. i don’t think austin did anything to her or broke her heart with any malicious intent at all. none of the olivia/austin stuff changes how i see him as a fan. he’s a complex human, olivia is a complex human. that’s the gist.

I have two questions in which I need clarification:

1. When jiminie posted those beach pictures last year… I read that he captioned it implying that he was alone. He was obviously with at least 3 members. What was the point in him feeling the need to put it out there that he was alone which was easily debunked when others posted the pictures? I was offline during this period so I didn’t know the story behind those pictures but I recently came across a thread on Twitter which brought this question back to me. I guess he doesn’t want us to know right?

2. I checked your master list and I couldn’t find this particular discussion… jimin’s vlive back in 2020 when he randomly called jin. Do you really think that was JK’s voice? I’m hoping you know the vlive I’m talking about. These two questions have been on my mind lately as I’ve been going through jikook past contents lately. Thanks in advance 💜💜

1) Jimin posted to Weverse in November photos of him at the beach and a video of him with his feet in the water. Original posts/translations linked here for you

Hobi made comments on each post/moment on Weverse, talking about how Jimin knows about vibes, and about how "he told me he almost died because of the cold" on the feet in the ocean video. Lol

And then a week later, on Twitter, someone (hypothesis of ARMY is that it's either Tae or JK, but possibly Jimin too - doubted though since Jimin always claims his twt posts with his hashtag, so 95% likely its either tae or jk who posted) posted the maknae line photos at the same beach. Caption "I want to go back there"

Hobi also posted at the beach too on Weverse with a video, armys claimed to have seen him there since it was earlier in the day though and that he was alone with staff at the beach

So ultimately what this comes down to is that people made lots of assumptions and we don't truly know. We have options. Either Jimin went alone the first time and it was just him and his staff/bodygaurds and he posted about how quiet and peaceful and alone the beach was. And so therefore he brought the members back with him on an additional beach trip because how nice to go somewhere and not get stared at, photographed, videoed, whispered about, etc etc and just get to fully relax at the beach. (Because yeah they aren't going to go without staff and/or bodygaurds at a minimum in a foreign country, lol cmon).

Or he was there with the other members and when he stated how alone and quiet the beach was, it wasn't him lying at being alone (because again, staff too) or that the members weren't there, but rather a commentary on the lack of the general public on the beach and how it was time to him/themselves. And he just didn't feel the need to mention the others because the point of his posts was HIM relaxing at the beach. Not him trying to trick anyone either way this went.

And for Hobi, he clearly also went alone at some point (with staff/bodygaurds) and perhaps joined the maknaes too for their beach trip (either Jimins second one with the other members or his first and they were all there the whole time)

Regardless, it's all clearly the same beach lol. And they all clearly loved it and loved having time out and about in public ALONE, together and/or separately. And not having to worry about everyone and everything else watching their every move. And we never would've known about these late night beach trips (minus Hobis) if they hadn't told us. Jimin even made one of his photos from that night his wallpaper! They clearly had an amazing time. And I love that they got to have that private time together out and about.

Ultimately, does it matter if Jimin went alone once and then again with the members... or went with some of the members each time he went? Or if they went 8 times during the week and we only know of a few times? I don't think so. But I hope that helped a little even if all it really comes down to is "who knows and who cares, it's really nice they did it!" Lol

Andrea Martinez : model, winner of the Miss Universe Spain competition and business administration graduate, the young woman from León took advantage of her husband Kepa Arrizabalaga's return to Spain to resume her professional projects. With determination: wherever you are tomorrow, your career will develop.

Projects accumulate in Andrea Martinez's head. After winning the Miss Universe Spain competition in 2020, life in the United Kingdom in the midst of the Brexit period with her life partner, Kepa Arrizabalaga (goalkeeper of Chelsea), kept her on edge until they returned to Spain.She continues to work as a model, planning to start two companies - including a clothing brand - and expanding her social media. And according to what she tells us in this interview, she will take it wherever the world of football takes her. Her professional development will not stop.

At 30, your CV covers everything from studying Business Administration and Management to being a basketball player and, most importantly, a model. What is your current professional situation?

I find myself in a mixture of everything. The last two years in London, with Brexit, I've been quite slow. But now, back in Spain, I'm at a point where I want to share everything that's on my mind and I can: I'm back in fashion, I'm starting two small businesses, I'm also going to start working with social media … and well, whatever comes out.

So let's talk about the clothing brand you are involved with ...

I have been interested in fashion since I was 17, when I started working as a model, and fashion has always attracted my attention, also from a business point of view. I've noticed that all women's suits are more or less the same, and I like them to be a little more varied. When looking for a suit of this type, you need to go to high fashion brands that ordinary people cannot afford. This is what I want to do, also with dresses.

At first glance, this project seems like the perfect combination of your role as a model with your studies.

Yes, exactly. When I do a photo shoot or walk the runway, I look at the entire organization behind it, all the processes a brand has to go through to get there and put on a show. And that was something that really interested me. That's why I worked in Milan, in the Armani offices, because I'm very interested in the world of fashion from the inside. So, without a doubt, my knowledge of administration and business management helps me a lot.

Beauty pageants also have their opponents. What is your opinion and what did winning Miss Univero Spain mean to you?

I think that the critics' opinion is to some extent based on previous years, when many things were done incorrectly. Today, Miss Universe wants to raise the value of women, strong, independent, powerful, intelligent women with big ambitions. I would say to those who are not supporters of this competition that they should sit down for a moment and simply listen to women's voices, because each candidate from each country has a very powerful social project behind her. This is something very powerful that benefits women. The win was like a rebirth for me because we had come out of the pandemic stage. The sudden rediscovery of who Andrea was, what she wanted to do, gave me life, gave me light.

Your modeling career has taken you to places such as Dubai, Paris and Milan. From the outside, everything looks impressive. How much work is behind it?

There is a lot of work, especially mental work. The ability to accept one "no" after another … it's easier to say "no" than "yes". Also, especially when I was younger, the thing about diets … you have to have a lot of mental strength. Before, some people didn't have much tact and might call you fat or a cow. As a 19-year-old, you have to know how to deal with it and not let it damage your personality.

Returning to your many facets. You came to present many contradictions …

I have always been a very anxious girl. I never had a special calling, but I liked touching all sectors. And that's how it has stayed with me to this day, which is why I take on every new project that seems at least a little interesting to me, I pursue it with all my might and put my whole soul into it. I think I enjoy the process of achieving something more than once. My family is in the opposition and I decided to take the exams to become a finance technician and later be promoted to inspector. I did well on my first exam, but during the process I realized that I wouldn't be able to spend eight hours in an office doing the exact same thing all the time for the rest of my life. That's why I decided to pursue other options.

And then there is the basketball player aspect. How far have you come in this sport?

I played from the age of 5 to 18. I played in two Spanish championships with team from Castilla y Leon and was selected in the Spanish pre-selection. It was my passion, it gave me values and teamwork that are very useful to me today. I left it when I had to consider : studies or sports.

A look at Instagram shows that sports are very present in your life.

I love nature-related activities, such as horse riding. Now I also do yoga, so that I can get to know myself a little better and calm down the rhythm of my thoughts. I love cycling, every time I go to Leon I ride a bike, of course it also helps me keep fit. I started to have contact with diving a few years ago and it is a world that fascinates me.

Also on Instagram, we saw you saying goodbye to London and giving thanks for the years you spent there. Do you see yourself in a few months saying, "Hello, here we are again?"

In football you don't know what will happen to you tomorrow, so our options are always open. Whatever comes will be good and I will be happy, it will be a new stimulus and I will be happy to have a new challenge.

As a footballer's wife, it is not easy to make careers compatible. What is your feeling: you accompany Kepa in his sports life and you need to take a break for a better moment, or maybe you are both able to develop professionally?

I think there is no better time than today. And in football, as I say, we never know where we will end up. I am very proud of my husband's career and regret that I cannot accompany him throughout his career. I'm not going to sacrifice family life or life with my husband, because I can do it perfectly well from a distance - technology makes the world smaller. Due to my restless or overly ambitious personality, perhaps I couldn't just accompany him all the time to leave out everything has to do with me, because that would mean losing my own life. So whenever I can, I will develop my projects.

You are still connected to León not only sentimentally. You also visit from time to time and participate in public life.

León is my city. I was born and raised there, I love it very much, my family is there. And above all, I love participating in Holy Week, which enjoys international tourist interest. I always promote what I can about my city, giving a helping hand, highlighting the careers of women supporting the fight against cancer. It's my home, it's my family and everything I can contribute, I'm happy and more than that, I love enjoying my city.

I’m…. really struggling with the Invictus Games, Harry seemed back to his old self until Meghan came, and maybe it’s just the coverage, but it’s hard to unsee. And Meg looked gorgeous of course, but I dunno, it just seemed inappropriate to have that many wardrobe changes at a charity event for wounded soldiers, not her. The Nigeria stuff was kinda cute, but in the context of everything else it just feels off? I always appreciate that you call out both sides and I looked to see your thoughts on the IG, but see you haven’t posted much, and anyway I just wanted to know your thoughts.

Honestly, my dear, I haven’t followed it. I did see some photos and videos of Harry and I do agree that he looked more like himself at IG than he has in a long time. It seems that whenever he goes back to doing things that are more “royal,” the spark comes back, the things that make him THE Prince Harry bubble back to the surface. I can’t say with conviction whether it has anything to do with Meghan - I am almost 100% convinced that his whole mindset/shift when he’s out and about depends very heavily on the fact that he’s back doing the work that he is comfortable doing, the work that he was born to do.

I do have to add the caveat that Harry would not have left the royal family without Meghan. To make it perfectly clear, I am not saying that he resents her for that or that he harbors ill will directed at his wife. If I am sure of anything, it’s that Harry LOVES his wife. However, objectively, her presence at these types of events following their departure (especially if she arrives in the middle of the event) must remind him in some capacity of what he’s lost (regardless of what he has gained personally). Again, I have no doubt that he’d do it over and over again for her. But there is a stark contrast between what he does now and what he did back then (and the massive difference measured impact between the two), and I imagine going from hosting IG solo (as he did as a working royal pre-marriage) to hosting it with his wife (who he loves) but who encouraged him to make the massive change in his life that altered the trajectory of his impact on the world forever might remind him of the life he left behind. Nobody (regardless of the strength of a marriage or the love between husband and wife) is immune to that thought crossing their mind. Especially Harry who, as we know, is the King (pun intended) of overthinking. And, given that he has absolutely no poker face… yeah. If there was a shift in his presentation when Meghan arrived - and I don’t know, because I didn’t follow - then I highly doubt it has anything to do with Meghan as his wife. I think it has to do with the reminder that his life has changed, he’s not HRH The Prince Henry, and as such, his ability to execute something like his beloved Invictus Games at maximum impact is also forever changed as a result.

Outfit changes are part of the package. I agree on that point overall but I can’t specifically call out Meghan for that when it’s an issue for celebrities and royals across the board. It is an exorbitant display of wealth and particularly problematic when it involves charity work but again, that’s not a Meghan problem, that’s a rich people problem.

I don’t know the context behind the Nigeria stuff, can someone please elaborate?

Overall, I agree about Harry. He’s off all the time and he has been since March 2020. His Royal Highness The Prince Harry hosting the Invictus Games would have been far, far different than Celebrity CIO Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex hosting the same.

While we’re on the topic, we're always talking about Elaine this and Elaine that but jeez Mariah ain't joking either... I agree they both need to drop the deadweight.

Apparently some days ago Mariah was blocking loads of Madison fans who just joked under her last post ABOUT (Mariah's) avocado toast and Maddie even deleted the photo... GIRL CHILL, IT'S A TOAST!!!

No one can convince me that both of the girlfriends aren't equally as childish and annoying as the other, they both need to go and leave those two and their fandoms alone…..how peaceful would it be if Rudy and Madison could just go back to live their lives and focus on their work environment without their partners always breathing down their necks? I highly doubt any of this would be happening if they kept living their experience with OBX like in 2019-2020 just focusing on work.

I don't doubt they're both very much in love and are happy couples but damn, why do "normal" people always get surprised when their celebrities partners are living the celebrity life? I’m sorry but both Elaine and Mariah seem to be enjoying the benefits that comes with their partners status but not willing to deal with the other side of their work…FREE THOSE TWO!!!

I like neither and I think both rudy and maddie have gotten quite unbearable since being in these relationships🤠I’m all for ignore the actors and focus on the ship, but my god do each couple make it difficult to ignore them!!!

Plan Incliné de Saint-Louis-Arzviller

This is going to be a rather long post as there is a lot to say about this thing! But the short version is: this is a boat lift.

Built in the 1960s, this "inclined plane" was designed to carry barges as part of the fluvial coal transportation industry. However, that trade declined pretty much during the edifice's construction, and today, it almost exclusively serves leisure boats. But if you're going to do a canal cruise, this thing gives it quite the difference!

Its function is that of a lock, taking boats from the lower water level to the higher level, or vice-versa, but it does this by technically being a lift or elevator. A caisson carries the boats and the water up and down, using counterweights to ease the travel.

In fact, the caisson will take on more or less water in order to be heavier or lighter than the counterweights. Though the total mass of the caisson and counterweights is enormous, the difference in mass between them isn't, so very little power is needed to get the system moving, and gravity does most of the work. Two relatively modest electric motors (centre of photo below, steps to the right for scale) start the movement and control the speed.

As such, the system uses comparatively little power, for impressive results. The boat lift was built to bypass a "ladder" of 17 locks which required a whole day to go through, while the travel time of the lift is just 4 minutes. The ride is seamless and very comfortable, effortless even, for reasons mentioned above but also because the effort is distributed across 5 times as many cables as physically required to hold everything together!

Water-tightness is also extremely important, not just for the caisson obviously, but also for the other doors, particularly the top door, which is holding back a whole length of canal. A serious incident in 2013 has led to further reinforcement of redundancies and the construction of an emergency dam closer to the lift in the event of major leaks.

With a lot of freight traffic in mind, the structure was actually designed for two caissons, side-by-side, as evidenced by a second gate hole visible at the top of the ramp (4th picture), and extra space at the bottom, visible in the final picture below. Doubling the caissons would have meant doubling the counterweights, and a second set of rails were laid for that scenario and are visible in the 4th picture. As mentioned earlier, demand dwindled as the lift was being built, so it never operated with two caissons.

For a long time, this place was a childhood memory, visited during a school trip. In my hiking spree after the 2020 and 2021 lockdowns, I sought this place out again and was glad to see it was still working. And just this week, I returned with my parents and rode the lift! It's without doubt one of my favourite pieces of engineering.

What are the dangers of reliance of social media for public health campaigns? Suggest some methods of overcoming that problem?

Introduction

With the rise of social media usage, which has shown significant growth since its inception in 1997, users connect into their preferred social media platforms worldwide and spend hours there (Woodward 2023). Social media offers a practical and approachable medium for disseminating health information to a broad audience as it is used by health groups and experts to provide information on a variety of subjects, such as illness prevention, healthy lifestyles, and treatments (Rajshri & Malloy 2023). According to (Leung 2022), this is a potent instrument that allows us to quickly communicate targeted health messages to significant portions of the public but with it, it develops into a powerful platform for the mass broadcast of false information, creating a risk to public health. However, to every problem, there is a solution.

The Dangers of Reliance of Social Media

For current monitoring efforts, organizations like the Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network of the World Health Organization (WHO) rely on online sources because data were not acquired using any conventional technique (Muacevic et.al 2023). According to research by (Eysenbach & Fagherazzi 2020), the majority of underdeveloped nations struggle mightily to stop the spread of infectious illnesses because of poor medical infrastructure and a lack of funding and in people’s knowledge of infectious illnesses causes behavioural changes among the people, which represents partial therapy given the seeming lack of these nations’ health care systems.

According to (Austin 2022), users of social media frequently worry about the possibility of their personal data being taken and at the start of 2018, social media-related problems accounted for over 4.5 billion or more than 56% of the compromised data records. Violations of patient privacy, the use of obscene or discriminating language, pictures of sexual suggestiveness or drunkenness, derogatory remarks about patient, a workplace, or a school are all examples of conduct that might be viewed as unprofessional and these public blunders by healthcare professionals have been reported, including doctors releasing “tweets” that are damaging to a person or the profession or taking digital photos while doing surgery (Ventola 2014).

One of the other problems faced in 2018 is that almost three-fourths of the most popular health stories had inaccurate or misleading material in result of majority of users on social media only reading the title and skip over the content due to worry of false information (Austin 2022). According to (Gisondi & Strehlow 2022), fake news has been claimed to encounter social media by almost 60% of Singaporeans and as a result of this, during COVID-19, people in Singapore would have been exposed to a lot of false information.

It is without a doubt that negative comments are one of the problems faced by people and this is a serious issue, sure that people may want to say something bad but it doesn’t necessarily make it true. According to (Austin 2022), the lack of control one has over social media in healthcare is another disadvantage whereby negative comments will inevitably appear on the content one publishes, and everyone’s social media page will display them.

Ways to Overcome the Problem of the Public’s Reliance on Social Media

The establishment of social media usage policies for employees might be advantageous for healthcare organizations and discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, disclosure of private or proprietary information, harm to organization’s reputation, productivity and other concerns should all be covered by policies (Ventola 2014). According to (Ventola 2014), a variety of worries about online publication of images or other patient information that would violate federal or state privacy laws or might interfere with patient treatment could be allayed by the implementation of such procedures. This is to ensure that the healthcare providers would protect the patient’s privacy and confidentiality.

Another research by (Ghahramani et.al 2022) shows that minimising the spread of false information and raising public awareness of reliable health-related information are a few examples of the functions that can influence the outcomes important to the assessment of the effects of social media on public health. In order to convince individuals that the evidence supporting the issue is valid and to gently sway them away from copying their preferred social media model, social media in public health concerns must be addressed delicately (MPH online 2023). Another way is to improve real-time disease surveillance, disease control and mitigation and screening or treatment interventions (Ghahramani et.al 2022).

Journals and conferences are popular resources for medical practitioners to stay current on new research and they can make use of social media to spread this knowledge to the students (Beveridge 2023). The WHO has consequently urged for the proactive use of social media platforms to distribute information on health concerns, especially on emerging infectious illnesses, to unspecialized individuals and the general public (Eysenbach & Fagherazzi 2020). The method of combating the negative comments is to educate of the public on how to cite the resources from the correct sources.

Conclusion

In a nutshell, there are many problems faced when trying to digitalize the public health campaigns. This includes the violation of the public’s private information, spreading of false information and lack of control from the healthcare professional. With that there are also solutions to combating the problems faced when it comes to all these problems which includes enforcing policies in the healthcare industry to ensure the safety of the public, and educating the public on how to get reliable sources and not taking it directly from a site that hasn’t been approved by the institution.

"Even if Jess is managing Renell and Quil, both of them are in New York."-If Jess is managing them, then they need new management. 2021 is a long time not to see a client. You never see her pictured in New York. You never see her working at all. The most work I have seen is the cooking videos she has put up. Everything else is Jamie related. Either her dad or Jamie must be helping her financially. No one knows what she does for revenue. Stolen content doesn't bring in money.

I agree. If I had a manager I'd want to see them in person. Even if I already knew them for a year or two before they went remote I'd still want to occasionally see them, and I mean more than once a year. The only time we see her out of that house, out of Jamie's house, is when she's traveling with him. She doesn't do anything other than be where he lives or be with him while he's doing something else. I was surprised he was in Memphis alone (and I believe he also went to Hong Kong by himself as well). They were spending way too much time together and it was grossly toxic and co-dependent I think after this music video fiasco (which she more than likely had a lot of control over) he realized what type of person she actually is.

Even though her previous "work" with Donna Management seemed to consist of her posting photos of her at events, she was at least going to these events and being photographed. Maybe she only got in by the grace of an agency but it was part of her job. After that point, she did go to other parties and events and was photographed at those (not as many) but still, it's something that shows she was doing some kind of work. She's done nothing close to that since maybe 2020 and she hasn't posted anything at all of herself doing any work since 2021. I think if she actually had this job and did these things she'd post about them because she couldn't help herself before. I also doubt Jamie told her not to post about going to parties or her job (if anything he'd probably prefer it).

Sadly, I do think that Jamie is footing a lot of her bills and probably her father/family as well. It's possible she has money saved somewhere (or used to) but I don't think she's a millionaire and I doubt that she has someone who has such a large income she can continue to pay to renew her business license and pay for two different office spaces without additional income. Someone is picking up the slack for this because this woman doesn't do nearly enough to be making that kind of money.

Hiiii so I’ve been in the larryverse since 2012ish but took a bit of a break from the fandom 2017-2020 and somehow missed a lot of the Xander timeline. Just catching up now. What do you think of H and Xander’s relationship?

hi, i think it started earlier back in 2014 when jeff stepped into H's life by time H was somehow isolated by management (as he was was planning to leave the band) so jeff introduced xander to H as jeff and xander are friends and then xarry became friends (keeping in mind xander is 11 years senior to H) so i think the plan was to help H come out by the help of 1d management and everything (false promises and all to secure H on their side for the long run as it was a dream came true to H)

so H would come out as bi as it would be the perfect image, a modern gay man in a boyband and all that and of course to beat the allegations (and you can't do that without confirming larry in the process bc you can't have 2/5 members, out and gay at the same time together. that's scandalous)

so the answer is H stunts with a man and there you have xander, perfect place, perfect timing and without outing louis in the process too you know? H may encouraged it because it was one step closer to freedom and being himself out in the open also coming out with louis (which was the whole point)

and if you checked the photos of H and xander, you'll find the stunts patterns, pap walks, flights togethers, dates out with everyone to see, meeting each other's families and photos leaked. on the other side, H was somehow throwing hints in interviews that imply he is flamboyant or gay like "not that important" or "don't knock it till you try it" and etc ( and we all know how media trained the boys are and how they were not allowed to say any wrong word so of course H was given permission to do this)

so fans start watching from afar from late 2014 but so many things were happening back then and the fandom went wild and of course started doubting larry which was a temporary success.

xarry didn't succeed to make it to the articles and media cause zayn left the band by march 2015 so that was enough damage for them. zayn caused enough damage for them to control so xarry was off the table but jeff baited h&l into believing he would make xarry work but it didn't. that was never the actual plan.

on the other side louis got the babygating with brianna and hell broke loose as you well know.

xarry continued uptil 1d went into a hiatus which was late 2015 and bam it was over. jeff secured his place as H's manager and it was the plan all along, he just wanted H to trust him ever since he stepped into his life. he roped H into more het stunts so it was all a fucking facade. H and L sacrificed so much for nothing.

in conclusion jeff is a fucking cunt who doesn't care about H or L or anything for the matter except for money and image.

and now xander is H's friend who is dating a girl (lmao) and shows up to his concerts like two days ago and coachella and etc.
