People say Toby’s story is an example of the cycle of abuse. Not only do I disagree bc as I said multiple times Toby wouldn’t be an abuser but LJs story is right there!! LJs story is a perfect example of the loss of innocence, the cycle of abuse and how growing up in an environment like that can really affect you. Issac’s dad abused his mom and the mom abused Issac and Issac became violent as a result which Jack was exposed to and traumatized by loosing his innocence and his mind and becoming extremely violent as a result. Literal cycle of abuse and I feel like no one talks about how severe LJs trauma is. Literally your only purpose for being created is to be owned by someone and to be their friend, witnessing that person getting abused and they spiral into violence and eventually become a killer and that rubs off on you, permanently robbing you of innocence after being ripped away from them for 13 years. Traumatizing af. Anyway LJs story shows the cycle of abuse and loss of innocence and loved ones just as much as Toby’s does but because LJ isn’t a “fluffy haired pretty boy” it’s overlooked and it sucks. As much as I love Toby (and you guys know I love Toby) LJ never gets the love he deserves bc he’s not conveniently attractive smh. I love my goth clown man idc.

I need to write about Jennifer’s body, literally my brain won’t shut the fuck up about this movie

JENNIFER AND NEEDY WERE IN LOVE AND NO ONE CAN CONVINCE ME THEY WERENT

First of all, BOTH THESE BITCHES WERE SO GAY I LITERALLY CANNOT BELIEVE NEEDY HAD A BOYFRIEND

LIKE GIRL??????? WTF WAKE UP THIS MAN IS A TWINK TOO

Anyway so throughout the movie when I first watched it years ago, I thought Needy was in love with/crushing SUPER fucking hard on Jennifer because OBVIOUSLY she was. Like put the twink bf aside, Jennifer is her sandbox love since day one. When she talks about Jennifer, despite acknowledging her flaws she still makes sure to follow along with everything Jennifer says and wants. She thinks Jennifer is the hottest girl alive. Plus whenever she looks at Jennifer you can see the yearning, and affection in her eyes. She quite literally cancels plans with her boyfriend because the thought of upsetting Jennifer is more important to her than upsetting Chip.

Now the reason I saw it so evidently at first from Needy was because Needy is essentially the underdog and she is protecting/trying to save Jennifer for most of the movie. She is also the narrator, so off point of view you can quickly tell this isn’t a typical friendship between the two.

THE KISS SCENE AND WHAT THIS TOLD ME

First of all these bitches have been going at it since childhood, GAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Jennifer in the kiss scene does what Jennifer does best, use her attractiveness and sometimes lies to get her way. She knows Needy is at least physically attracted to her and uses it to her advantage. Now not only does that confirm the giant gay elephant in the room, but it also confirms that Jennifer is gay as hell too. Now I know I said that Jennifer uses her looks to get what she wants, but typically what she has wanted has been PEOPLE (to eat them or have them). Like when she was flirting with literally any of the men she kills in this movie, she uses her looks to get to every single one. She wanted the lead singer and even lied to get him when her looks alone didn’t get her what she wants. EVEN TO THAT TWINK CHIP.

Now JENNIFER WANTS NEEDY SO BADDDDD

Jennifer loved Needy because Needy has seen her through all facets of her life and still accepted and cherished her. Despite the literal DEMONIFICATION of her best friend, she still stuck with her. Also I think she loves the fact that despite trying her best to sexualize herself to Needy, Needy still sees her as a person. Like no matter how hot Jennifer is, she is still gives a fuck about what Jennifer thinks, if Jennifer is okay and what she needs.

Now I think Needy loves Jennifer for a lot of fucked up reasons besides the whole best friend bond, but I think it’s also because Jennifer makes Needy feel seen, heard, and liked. NEEDY IS GORGEOUS OK; IDC HOW MUCH THEY TRIED MAKE HER A NERD, JENNIFER SAW THAT SHIT!!!! Listen to me, this coulda been the best gay love story of its time.

THAT NECKLACE SCENE WHEN THEY ARE FIGHTING TO THE DEATH, AND JENNIFER CHOOSES TO FUCKING DIE INSTEAD OF KILLING NEEDY BROKE ME.

Like no matter how self centered, evil, manipulative and fucked up they painted Jennifer the whole movie, SHE CHOSE TO DIE BEFORE KILLING HER BEST FRIEND. This bitch has SUPER STRENGTH, can LEVITATE, HAS AN INSATIABLE HUNGER FOR PEOPLE, AND STILL DIDNT KILL NEEDY. The necklace brought this bitch BACK. Like she remembered that she loves and cares for her, and she decided that she would just let Needy put her out of her misery. Rather than having to carry around the fact that she killed the only person she probably truly loved.

Needy also had to find the strength to kill the love of her fucking life. Like yeah she was pissed and heartbroken that Jennifer killed Chip, but she still sympathized with the fact that her friend was turned into a flesh eating demon by a bunch of dickheads in a rock band. Like could Jennifer have picked another person to kill, absolutely. But did she realize that Jennifer was too far gone, yeah. I think that despite the anger and resentment she had, she was putting Jennifer out of her misery. Like a life of luring in and killing men for sustenance, is not really a life. She knew that Jennifer was not fucking happy being a serial killer, and she knew that her best friend was cursed.

SHE BECAME A MONSTER AND AVENGED HER.

Like she completely didn’t intentionally become a monster, but she did hunt down every single one of those dickheads and SLAUGHTER THEM. As she fucking should.

But tell me there isn’t something fucking romantic about her, BECOMING THE MONSTER THEY MADE JENNIFER INTO AND KILLING THEM.

Ohhh I forgot about those. 😅 That second one used to be on my Ao3 but I didn't want to keep it up. (Actually sounds like maybe you mashed two diff fics together haha). I now do recall the College AU where the girls road tripped to visit the boys at their shared apartment. I could still pick that up again in the future. The 'fake dating except Hinata doesn't know it's fake' plot is still interesting to me. As for the first one, I'm not wild about it, either. 😅 That's why I never crossposted it. Not to imply that anything has changed, but I swear back in 2012 I was told that Ao3 was for high quality fics only, but that must've just been an acquired reputation or something. 🤔

The 'Naruto still likes Sakura, Hinata is a melancholic baby in love and there's a hotel', that's the Modern AU longfic that shall not be named but has 39 chapters that kept getting increasingly longer and angstier.

I still hold some fondness and curiosity about the latest arc that I didn't get to complete, just cuz it's also the furthest away from all the parts that are awful imo. So that's why I looked at it again, or tried to. But just when I thought Chapters 16 or 18 were safe from cringe, they weren't. 😱

My 16yo attempts at drip-feeding Japanese culture (not just pop culture at the time) and social commentary like youth suicides, 'Exam Hell', etc into the plot were just awfully executed. Okay, not even awfully executed. Like, fundamentally it's just bad. There's a chapter I named 'filial piety sucks!' and I'm just like ???????. I get that the Coming-of-Age theme I was going with was Modernity vs Tradition but omigod does it reek of Westernization or... smthn to that affect. I'm unsure if there's an exact term that better fits, but you get the idea? So that's my greatest shame. 🫥 The voice of the early parts is plain awful and not worth preserving. (Idc that this was 2006-2008 and I only had so much information to work with, it cannot be forgiven).

The latter parts are like... I would cherry-pick them if I could, but I'm too scared. 😩 I know exactly which parts but ughhhh!! I have to skim so much cringe. And even then, I'd prolly just repurpose them individually into other things. Or reboot the whole ass thing with no Harajuku, no Goth-loli... 😮‍💨 Yeah. 😅 But tbh, Idk what the ending was supposed to be. 'Earn Your Happy Ending', yes, but... It feels like the story was just a progression of muses, it had no real point to it. 🫣

There’s not really specific reasons, he just saw how uncomfortable and/or scared PJ, Grad, Palette, and Goth were with the idea that his family has killed people and decided (’̀-‘́) you right, they bad. He sees unnecessary killing/thievery and refuses to except explanations because he is a bratty child. His friends and storybooks say one thing so it must be true. Before that, it was more, “my family has done bad things but idc give me attention.” Now it’s “my family has done horrible things fuck all of you”

(Cross is kind of an exception because he doesn’t want to kill and does his best to do his job without murder, so Cres kinda sees him as “forced” into this situation. Which isn’t true but y’know. Horror is on thin ice after he heard about his AU. Plus he’s nicer, kinda the caretaker to everyone.)

He’s also convinced that none of them really care about him, especially NM. Because he’s got this terrible image of them in his mind, and NM isn’t around him very often anymore, all he sees is this controlling and manipulating boss keeping good people like Dream and Cross under his thumb. And no nothing either of them say counts, they don’t know any better.

I always feel like NM would be too afraid of how his negativity would effect a pregnancy, so it was Killer that carried. I wouldn’t say Crescent was necessarily planned, but they all had many talks about having children before, now that the other gods had some, so idk if I’d call him an accident either lmao. They all knew what they wanted, they just never agreed on exactly right this second.

I mean, he likes Ink more than Error. There are times when the god weirds him out, or his personality is overwhelming, but overall sees that he’s good and loves his kids so yea okie, tolerable. Error’s only a little more tolerable than the Gang because he also clearly loves his kids, and Grad/PJ love him too, so Cres tries not to get pissy with him too much.

there are notable differences!!! between my selfship with L and lawmane!!!!! it’s just that she’s the more conventionally attractive “option” for L and it digs into some deep insecurities :/

but, i will say that misa isn’t all that silly. she’s not witty. if anything, she’s just funny sometimes.

Bunch of scattered/unorganized Yellowjackets thoughts (spoilers)

- could not choose between shauna and misty as my faves throughout season 1 but Lottie and Nat really got me in season 2 as well… there’s so many good characters auugghg

- i have NO clue what the heck’s going on with taissa and where her characters going im absolutely stumped. The heck’s up with that man with no eyes I wanna know!!! It feels like they’re building up to something really slowly and taking their time with it

- finding out the woman who directed Jennifer’s Body is an executive producer on the show was really funny that makes so much sense.

- is van going to miraculously survive her cancer bc of how Lottie said the wilderness is pleased with their sacrifice (of nat) and implied how it’s going to reward them?? Since they had a close up of vans reaction to Lottie saying that I feel like that might be a thing that could happen but not sure what else

- Travis is fucking insufferable in season one (thankfully eased up in ssn 2) but I still couldn’t fully hate him bc of his siblingisms with Javi I’m so simple when it comes to siblings LOL… his reaction to seeing Javi’s frozen corpse absolutely wrecked me. And him taking a bite out of his raw heart my god I was FLOORED

- I get why people dislike Misty’s thing with Walter but I can’t bring myself to hate it I want misty to have nice things and a happy freak4freak relationship truly is what she deserves. The perfect ending though would be if both of them find out they’re gay and become wlw/mlm Reddit true crime solidarity. But I can also see them getting split pretty quickly bc of misty dealing with accidentally killing nat

- I absolutely adore the misdirection with some plot threads for example the whole mystery with Travis in season 1 felt like it was building up to a reveal of sorts like who really killed him and why?? What did they want?? Only to find out super early on in season 2 that his death was an accident (but in essence Kind of a suicide) and when Lottie recounts it nat calls bullshit and I called bullshit too bc I thought there was more going on but the more the 96 plotline plays out the clearer it becomes that that really was what happened… like we don’t know the full story of what happened in the wilderness but you can broadly fill in gaps. But it’s still a different thing entirely seeing what actually happened and it recontextualizing everything in the adult timeline you’ve seen prior… there’s no conspiracy Travis wasn’t murdered and all these characters are just haunted to such an extent that becomes clearer and clearer as the show continues

- Did Not care for Kevyn Tan idc that he used to be a goth kid in love with nat he revoked that card when he became a cop and didn’t do anything to stop jay/whatever the fuck that guys name was from preying on Callie… I laughed so hard when he suddenly died completely unceremoniously not gonna lie. I loved it. Wish they killed off that other cop too though

- love coach Scott’s fuck em kids move at the end I was not seeing that coming at all but I was delighted. Gay trying to do the mass burying

- I hope Mari isn’t pit girl simply because she’s so funny she’s such a fucking hater I love her

- am really curious how the rest of the show’s going to pan out over its projected 5 seasons I think the story is a slow burn overall but with a 5 season plan that feels really purposeful… like so far only 2 people have been Eated, one simply by circumstance and the other left to die in a passive way and we’ve yet to reach a point where they actively murder someone With Intent to kill and eat and the escalation to it has been very gradual

- I saw a lot of people complain about season 2s pacing but I felt like it was. Fine? I only started watching the show a few days after the season finale ended so I didn’t wait a week between episodes so it might be one of those things where the pacing issues are lessened when watched back to back but idk

- Doesn’t taissa have senator duties to attend to or something girl has so much to answer to when she gets home from the Lottie cult misadventures

- I read in an interview that originally Nat’s dream realm scene in the plane while she’s dying was going to have javi and young nat laughing mockingly to adult nat while she breaks down crying THATS FUCKING INSANE????? GOOD LORD. it didn’t make the cut and part of me wishes it did but also I’m kind of glad it didn’t bc that would’ve been. A Lot. But holy fuck

- I know the likelihood of coach Scott getting hunted and eaten is extremely high but I hope he can last another season at least. He’ll probably be hiding for dear life from the girls who Definitely want him dead now for that stunt he pulled (if they figure out it was his doing to begin with)

- Jeff is so fucking funny I love a good wife guy. He’s so ride or die for shauna it rules. I want to see more interactions of him and Callie also I found the scene where he tells her abt the wilderness baby heartbreaking but also really sweet…

- It’s wild how much time left there still is before they get rescued how in the hell are these girls going to stay warm for the rest of the winter?? Though now that I think about it since nat knows about it there might be a more active effort to find Javi’s shelter. Or maybe find others similar to it? The impression I got from the pit girl scene was that they split up into smaller groups in different directions (bc of the different symbols hung on different trees) but I may be wrong on that one

- When spring/summer rolls back around and game starts showing up again are they going to be like “ok cool we can go back to being normal humans let’s just never talk about our winter activities again ok.”

What is Ironycore?

Ironycore is an aesthetic and fashion style centered around ironic humor and pieces considered ‘ugly’ or ‘tacky’ by the owner. Ironycore focuses less on aestheticly pleasing outfits but rather on making a joke through decor or outfit choice. While Ironycore is not strictly fashion based- this post will focus more on the fashion aspect… as this is a fashion blog.

Ironycore Essentials

To call something ironycore it must find the sweet balance of being ironic but also not intentionally. Graphic tees which clearly do not pertain to the wearer are a staple of ironycore. For example, a white man wearing a shirt that reads “I Love being a Black Woman” or a young girl wearing a shirt that reads “My greatest blessings call me Papa”

While graphic tees with funny slogans on them can be part of ironycore, it is important that they are funny because they are in complete juxtaposition to the wearer. Wearing a shirt that says “This girl loves horseback riding, getting dirty, and daytime dramas” could work but if you are dressed too much like a girl who may like horseback riding and daytime dramas- the irony may be lost. However if it makes you laugh then it is still a great piece.

Ironycore at its very… core, is about expressing something that makes you laugh and bringing yourself joy. If wearing shirts from jobs you’ve never worked in your life, or wearing a hat that says “Women want me, fish fear me” is funny to you- ironycore is the perfect style for you.

Another aspect of ironycore is wearing tacky items of clothing. It must be noted that these items don’t have to be big statement pieces. But if you find them funny to wear with the outfit it is a good match. For instance- wearing a completly goth outfit with cowboy boots and a cowboy hat could be funny to you. Or wearing a summer outfit with snow boots. Something that screams “That’s not right” Cohesive outfits are for suckers.

Ironycore is also like a cheese that can pair well with other substyles. For example, a punk look wearing an ironic tshirt or hat can be a blend of the Punk subculture and ironycore. Or wearing Y2K fashion with a funny bratz meme on your shirt. It lends itself to a lot of mixes.

Ironycore isn’t hyper specific- it’s whatever you find funny. The only real requirement for something to be ironycore is… to wear something ironically. If you are wearing a creeper shirt because you genuinely love minecraft that’s not ironycore. That’s just fun. But if you are a staunch atheist wearing a shirt saying “Jesus is my best friend and teacher” that’s a knee slapper.

but look at that and tell me that’s not a coincidence. she still hasn’t gotten tired of plagiarizing and leeching off of me (and with kinktober no less! stories i wrote from my deepest self for the fun of it—yeah, and i supposedly ruined her fun when we were in the anthrax fandom together, jesus).

she still is not tired of this. i said in my timeline of events page that she will stab you in the back with a smile on her face—except “you” is me for the most part. and she’ll lie about it, too, constantly. it’s like she knows i can’t do anything so she’s taking advantage of that and now in just the worst way possible (god, and i thought she had sunk to a new low with like loving the dead—that trainwreck is a masterpiece compared to this). vitriol and envy look so ugly when fused with denial, idc how hot you think you are.

i’ll tell you this, though: i can tell the hair metal fandom isn’t receiving her in the same glowing adoration that the goth or thrash fandoms have—and no, i won’t elaborate with that. i remember saying “i’m just going to let karma take care of her for me” and i’ll reiterate that, but louder this time, because there’s nothing i can do except kick back and let the kids do their thing.
