do u ever see comments on posts and artwork full of effort and thought and passion etc and like. think about that post that talks about how people have the darndest time interacting with art without trying to crack a joke about it. is it really so boring to take someone's art seriously? is it necessary to demean someone's efforts, however unintended, for a 'joke' that consists of you being like "ooOOoOh how weird lol!!" like i don't want or mean to be a killjoy. but i think about that post a lot. like y do u need to add a punchline to something that doesn't need one. who asked u. why does it need to be funny. and u don't even have the decency to acknowledge its merit ;/

Honestly, you thought nothing of it when you were informed that due to “space issues” you were being moved to room with The Theos™. You just shrugged and followed the very anxious house-elf who had informed you of the switch to your new room.

Your trunk and belongings were there already, waiting to be set up and organized. Mattheo and Theo were hovering in the doorway looking a bit too pleased with the situation for comfort.

You just quietly said “hi” and moved past them, dumping your school bag on your new bed and flopping down next to it.

Theo and Mattheo practically trip over themselves rushing to “befriend” you. (Their words, not mine)

You all share a dorm, so it wasn’t long before they realized the other was obsessed with you.

Then, it’s all out war.

I’m talking mysterious falls down the moving stairs, getting locked out of the dorm all night, randomly being chased by bludgers—even when they aren’t playing.

Random fistfights between them whenever they see each other in the halls.

That all goes out the window, though, when reader is asked out.

Reader comes back to his dorm after a long day and finds The Theos sitting side-by-side on the edge of the his bed.

“When were you going to tell us that you became the class whore?” Mattheo drawled, his lips thinning in disapproval and disgust.

“W-what?” You ask, completely taken aback.

“We heard that little Y/N L/N’s got himself a date to the Yule Ball,” Theodore adds. “Who is it? That Parkinson girl? The Diggory boy?”

“Wh- no. I said no anyways.”

The boys scrutinize you, exuding an air of judgement.

Finally, Theodore pipes up. “Good boy.”

Anyways, they eventually find out who asked you out. They call a ceasefire on their own personal war, and team up to beat the shit out of the poor guy/girl.

After that, babycakes, if they didn’t already know before, everyone at Hogwarts now knows that you are TAKEN. (Even though you don’t.)

They tolerate each other, but just barely. They can really only stand each other when you three all curl up in one of your beds or on the common room couch.

Then, they’re the clingiest mfs you’ve ever met.

They have absolutely no sense of a personal space bubble. One of them is always touching you in some way, whether it be holding your hand, resting a hand on your hip or shoulder, putting their hand on your lower back…

Theodore charmed your chair in History of Magic to be impossible to move, so you can’t scoot away from him.

If you’re relaxing on the couch in the common room, Mattheo will move to sit right next to you (like r i g h t next to you) and put your legs in his lap. He tried once before to get you to just sit in his lap, but you told him no (like an idiot) and avoided him for the rest of the day. That is, until you woke up to him in your bed next to you.

Homeboy was not happy about that.

He is manipulative as fuck and will gaslight you to no end. He uses his shitty childhood and bad father to get you to pity him.

(It works.)

It’s obviously disconcerting for you when your boyos go from ‘actively out for each other’s blood’ to ‘eh, you’re fine, i guess’

You guys were watching a movie in your dorm one night, all piled onto your bed, and they accidentally fell asleep there. They woke to you already gone for breakfast and them with their arms around each other.

hello! yes! i'll be honest talking about things like this always make me a little nervous, and i feel obligated to preface anything i say with a disclaimer that none of it really matters, nothing i say matters, and you should do what you like, because--who cares. i am not an authority on--anything, frankly. my opinion holds no more weight than the next guy's, and all i'm doing here is giving it, so. essentially what im saying is--people are perfectly entitled to disagree with me, but people are not entitled to be mean to me about it xx

having said that. it is my personal opinion that s x barty is one of the worst fucking things i have ever heard lol. who even is barty who is that guy. why would s be interested in him at all. i do not understand it it does not make sense to me. from where are we sourcing the character traits and personality that we are giving barty that would ever endear sirius to him, because it objectively cannot be canon.

overall i do not get the new interest in barty + evan + pandora (+ regulus, but we won't go there)...at all, other than guessing that people were bored with the marauders and wanted a new version of them (and new celebrities to fancast) while simultaneously changing next to nothing about them other than superimposing them onto the first slytherin side characters they could rustle up. i expect ive become a bit of a broken record in regards to my dislike of the popular meow-meow-ification + complete absolution of regulus as a character in order to make him a loveable oc (just as i think erasing all the negative traits that r/s have in order to make them more likeable is just as boring), and all of that applies to those other guys as well (with the slight difference that they are, somehow, even less interesting and significant than regulus in canon), so i won't get into that too much. but i think what you say about having no emotional connection to any of it is exactly right lol--it is a sort of shift? i guess? in the fandom that is simply of no interest to me. they are characters that i just have no emotional investment in and admittedly struggle a little to understand why other people do. i am emotionally invested in, like, five characters overall (and even out of those--there's only two i'm really here for innit xx) and i personally cannot extend that investment to a creepy little side character who is mentioned maybe twice in the entire series.

i know ur blog has more of a jason focus not a dick focus but since u posted NTT it unlocked a memory: at some point (i think batman year 3?) dick compares loving bruce to loving an alcoholic father, like directly compares bruce's dependency on crime/he can be a good dad sometimes but he just... gets wrong sometimes! it's a take that i personally am obsessed with but idk what ur thoughts on it are/were, maybe esp w/r/t say, jason's backstory? >:3c

I've seen that page!! I really like it. So I think this is one where I have to make the disclaimer that I think actual canon on Bruce as a parent is incredibly inconsistent. Especially wrt Jason, his post-crisis time unfortunately was just so short I don't think we had time to see how that dynamic might have played out. The Cult has some interesting stuff in it (and gorgeous art) with Jason having to be in charge at points while Bruce is unable to be but that's only a 4 issue series.

So! Headcanon central:

I tend towards the idea that Jason was the kid Bruce most acted like a parent towards as a child. I don't think the level of parentification that Dick had was nearly so present for Jason and I think that kind of reflects in how they think about Bruce! Dick has this fear of disappointing Bruce but also of his absence harming Bruce. He feels like he needs to be there to watch out for Bruce and be his support.

Otoh, Jason's major post-resurrection crisis is fueled by this belief that Bruce has failed him as a father by not avenging him. In some ways I think part of why Jason can hurt Bruce so badly is that Jason doesn't feel that obligation to protect Bruce or be in any way the bigger or more mature person - that's his Dad.

I think one of the tragedies of Jason and Bruce is that they can't go back. Some things change who you are so completely you can never turn the clock back. Jason is still Bruce's son, but they'll never be like that again. I actually desperately want canon to have them both acknowledge that - that they're both grieving the loss of each other, and the loss of the boy Jason was who will never return. And maybe they can't have that story back, but they can write a new one, figure out how to exist with each other in ways that don't hurt, how to fit their sharp edges together. Okay sorry that was a tangent I have a lot of thoughts on changing and mourning re: Them.

In terms of the alcoholic analogy I honestly think Jason could go either way with it? Something I was thinking about with this is I think out of the Gotham vigilantes, Jason, Cass, and Bruce are the least likely to put down the mask. I'm not going into Cass because I'm not qualified but! For Jason, his civilian life is...over. He's been removed from the non-cape world for years. I don't think he's ever going to build it back up in a meaningful way - even when I picture him retired, I can't really picture him with non-cape friends. That's just me, though. But Bruce... Bruce can't stop, because he can't. He has a life outside Batman, but the guilt and fear and shame and sense of duty won't let him leave the cowl behind. So I think on one hand Jason might agree with the alcoholic analogy because his situation is different to Bruce's, on the other hand he might kind of just view them all as dependants on this lifestyle. They're all going to die in their masks (some of them twice).

And just in general, my preferred Bruce is deeply flawed but trying Bruce. I think Bruce is at times a pretty terrible father, in canon. Not for lack of love, but because he's a man with severe mental health concerns who refuses to get help and spends his nights in an endless and largely futile quest fueled by survivor's guilt. That doesn't make the best formula for a stable father but, at least for my headcanons, I like to think that he tries so damn hard. He loves his children. The tragedy is never a lack of love.

Sorry I don't know if I really answered your question but I guess here's a long ramble on Bruce and Jason's family dynamics?

Not the person who said that nor have i asked about those things myself but just wanted to clarify what i think all those questions are about.I’m pretty sure for most of them it’s just curiosity.Most people in general are enticed by things that are “controversial”.And since these things like selling your soul doing magic doing deals with the “devil” etc are thing with a lot of mysticism and “drama “ around them so it naturally arouses our want to know more about them.Most people probably know these things are scary and should not be messed with. Now granted there may be quite a bit of them who actually want to try it and stuff but I’m sure most of them when they ask what the consequences are and so on are just curios about it since they don’t really know anything about these things. as per how tolkien made fantasy

I've made a conlang for my urban fantasy story. I'm still working on the vocabulary and word order still kinda switches between SVO and SOV but I might end up making the word order like it is in german where the its SV1OV2 where V1 is the first verb and V2 is the second verb like in the sentence Ich habe butterbrot gegessen (lit. I have butter bread ate) or I can make it that if you do SOV its more passive than SVO or just make it flexible like in russian but have the primary word order be SVO

Anyways

This conlang is called Angelspeak or kauxam /kaɯ.ʃam/ in its language. Its an analytical minilang that uses cv or cvv where vv is a diphthong and has the ability to combine morphemes (which are in a single syllable) into more complex words with no more than three morphemes. I say that this is a minilang because the morphemes themselves can be used as individual words and I'm not going to have an enormous dictionary. Also minilangs are easier for me in general and more fun imo.

At first I was thinking of having a tonal system like in mandarin but I keep going back and forth whether to have a tonal system or not and if I do it would be more grammar based than the tones indicating that this is a completely different morpheme.

This conlang doesn't have an actual writing and the culture of the speakers of angelspeak (the angels) is purely on oral traditions. However, I've made a romanization system for this conlang which is used by mortals in this world to create sigils which are used as totems and a form of programing language for enchantments. It is said that angelspeak can move souls and lifeforce itself.

I'll update this post (maybe) with a chart of the vowels and the consonants later because I didn't make the chart in my excel sheet but for now I'll just do it like this

And here are all of the allowed syllables. Each syllable is a morpheme and each morpheme are characterized by their function

Adjectives and adverbs are basically the same functionally its just one describes a noun and the other describes a verb. Also there is a potential where I would remove syllables with /z/ but keep /z/ for verbs (or I might remove z entirely idk) because I don't think these z's fit with the sound aesthetic I'm going for which is silky smooth. too buzzy imo

For verbs there's present tense, past tense, future tense, progressive, imperitive, and vocative. here's the cojugation using the word lam which means to eat. to make it a sentence, I'm using the first person pronoun pa

Pa lam - I eat

Pa lom - I ate

Pa lim - I will eat

Pa lym - I am eating

for the vocative and imperitive I'll use the second person pronoun py.

Py lwm! - you eat (in a commanding sense)

Py lem! - you should eat (also can be translated as please eat)

Right now I'm still working on vocabulary but I add vocabulary as I'm writing my story.

Here's an example of the language at work

in the context where this will occur in the story, pe refers to a man but pe can refer to anyone of any gender. For the sake of translation of this, I used singular they because this is taken out of context.

In the story, I will translate the angel speak by having either the context of what my protagonist is thinking for example

this is scary. coi.

or I'll do it like this

coi. scary.

hopefully you as the reader would understand the angelspeak this way.

Fuck I should read some of tolkien's work to see how he handles his conlangs in his stories (bc I only saw the movies) but I have such a large book backlog that idk if I can tackle reading either hobbit or LoR atm while I have like, uh, six books that I'm still reading. technically seven but the seventh book I haven't touched in years

Ok the way prince Dowon tried cornering Hae-ryung as a way to confess his feelings (or w h a t e v e r that was) might come off as upsetting at first but if we wait for just a few moments, we get such a lovely treat from both Dowon and Hae-ryung staying true to their characters; Dowon overthinking it to the point he freezes so the moment passes, which leaves a clumsy impression and is by far more efficient than what his eunuch suggested, and then there's lovely Hae-ryung slipping out of his arms like a playful cat, staying highly focused and composed, professional till the end.

Also, their age difference (she is 26 and he is 20) reflecting their character differences is one of the most accurate depictions I've ever seen on screen. Early 20s are such chaotic and difficult mess and there we have prince Dowon right in that character, a bit confused and kind of lost with his head in the clouds. Even though he is well read and well above average smart, he really needs his little helpers. I still haven't learned why he lives the way he lives but there must be some important reason. Crossing the invisible line of 25 and reaching late 20s works like magic very often. It doesn't fix any problems but the pain of being a grown up subsides and messy thoughts start disentangling pretty efficiently. Hae-ryung is an amazing representation of just that.

That's why I find their interactions so interesting. Despite his royal ego, Dowon doesn't ignore common sense, which makes this semi-authoritative character extremely likeable. It's obvious his character is completely fictional, as it opposes typical real life royal behaviour known for centuries. I love the way he doesn't abuse his royal privilege and to certain degree submits to Hae-ryung, letting her be herself, letting her breathe.

I'm approximately half way through the series. This post is entirely based on what I've watched so far. Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung is definitely one of those dramas to enjoy while relaxing! It has a pretty strong humoristic tone at times. Four girls historians are admirable, courageous, hardworking, and progressive. Their working colleagues historians go through lovely character development and are way ahead of their time as well. Personally, political plot doesn't interest me much, King is obnoxious, and so are Queen Dowager's minions, but it's nothing serious (so far). All in all, if you're looking for a historical drama that's on the lighter side, with great acting crew - you don't have to look any further, this is the one.

Let's fight an epic battle!

Summary: Remy meets an otherworldly catboy...

"...Eh?"

"YOU HEARD ME RIGHT! Let's Tetris, right here, right now!"

"...Sir, I'm trying to w-work..."

For most of the denizens of the small village known as Primp, this would be a regular occurrence - for one Remy Ratatong, however, this was completely out of the ordinary.

A fairly tall man with what appeared to be cat ears stood over Remy, trying and mostly failing to appear intimidating.

Key word "mostly".

"If you could just get out of the way, I need to get back to the supply closet...?" He suggested quietly.

"And why should I?!" The strange man demanded, "I've been utterly dying to compete with someone, and you're the most eligible person I've found yet, so... battle me!"

...This guy talks like Schezo, but even more dramatic.

"Sir, please, itll only take a sec," Remy said, "A-after, I'll battle with you.."

"My name is Ar, not SIR!" The now identified "Ar" yelled angrily, "How about you battle me first, then you get to search your so-called 'supply closet'?"

"My 'so-called'..." Remy said in pure disbelief, "...Okay. If it'll make you leave me al-alone."

"Glad you've finally seen sense! Now, to battle!" Ar exclaimed, "Tetris..."

"Puyo-puyoo~" Remy responded lazily, beginning the battle.

And thus, the epic battle of two pro players began!

...Well, not quite epic.

Similarly to Remy's very first Puyo battle, he hardly tried to do much at all, just keeping the puyos from stacking too close to the top as he got several five- and six-chains.

Ar, on the other hand...

"Ack! Owch!"

"This must be the end for me..."

"You're hopeless! You're pathe-"

"ACK-"

After several minutes of this "Ar" desperately attempting to survive Remy's attacks, the overly kind Ratatong decided to tone it down a notch.

But even with Remy not completing any chains except for the odd one-chain to keep him in the game, his opponent wasn't faring well at all.

About twelve minutes into the battle, Remy checked Ar's board, deciding to simply watch him play.

Ar wasn't doing any hard drops. He wasn't even pushing his pieces to go down faster.

Most impressively of all, it appeared that Ar wasn't holding a single piece.

"Are you going easy on me?" Remy asked, curious. This guy didn't seem like the type to do such a thing, but...

"Going easy- I'm putting all I have into this battle!" Ar retorted.

"Ah, well, you aren't harddropping, or doing any t-spins, or anything special at all, so I just thought-"

"WELL you thought wrong! I simply use...alternative tactics in my battles!"

"Alternative... B-but, do you even know how to harddrop at all? It's a really important, uhm, technique." Remy said, now feeling incredibly awkward.

Ar scoffed. "'Hard drops' mean nothing to me! My techniques are clearly far beyond your level if you think that simply being 'fast' and 'efficient' is what it takes to be good at Tetris!"

"But..."

Suddenly, the two heard a noise neither of them were expecting - the noise of too many Puyos causing Remy's board to break.

"O-oh, well..." Remy said, falling to the ground in his signature 'loser pose'.

"I won?" Ar said, clearly in shock before shaking his head and recomposing himself, "OF COURSE I won! I'm the greatest Tetris player in the multiverse! Nobody can stand in my way!"

"R-right, okay, now that that's over with... I really need to get back to work," Remy sighed, "My boss won't fire me, but I don't want to leave everyone to do my work..."

Remy began the short walk to the supply closet... and Ar followed him.

"You're the first person I've battled in quite some time. Clearly, this means we were meant to be together!" He announced.

"...'Scuse me?" Remy said blankly.

"You heard me! Your sudden presence must be a good omen... Obviously you shall be the one to bring me to my goal!"

"If your goal's also the supply closet, then sure, otherwise I can't help you." Remy said, then began completely ignoring Ar.

"My goal is far beyond that - it's to the stars! The SS Tetra... I must find it, battle Tee, and reclaim my rightful place as Tetris King!" Ar began ranting, "Of course, you shall be assisting me, as you're clearly almost as powerful as I am! Now, my plan is this..."

And so he continued, all throughout Remy's time at work, until Remy went home and locked Ar out in the rain like the sopping wet flea-covered stray cat he was.

Hangul With SKZ Names

I'm making this for a friend but I need a place that has good editing abilities so here it goes :D Ok! I'm gonna start this with some things that people say are helpful but are probably not THAT helpful, just so you know from the start, because they will come into play with their names too.

"hangul is written in clusters of syllables!" Yeah. But hangul also doubles up the letters sometimes so for example older sister is pronounced "oni" but it's not "o-ni" but "on-ni".

"you pronounce the letters the same way you write them!" That is true and very helpful 90% of the time. With all their names here, think about how they pronounce them, not how they are written (or pronounced :D) in English. Bewng Chewn who. The other 10% is for all the letters that can be pronounced 2+ different ways. They are also pronounced differently at the start vs end of syllable, fairly often.

Romanization - fun fact it's completely random and there are no strict rules everyone adheres to.

Ok let's start!

Basis of hangul are these letters:

14 consonants ㄱ (g/k) ㄴ (n) ㄷ (d/t) ㄹ (r/l) ㅁ (m) ㅂ (p, b…) ㅅ (s) ㅇ (ng or silent) ㅈ (j) ㅊ (ch) ㅋ (k) ㅌ (t) ㅍ (p) ㅎ (h)

10 vowels ㅏ (ah) ㅑ (ya) ㅓ (uh) ㅕ (yuh) ㅗ (o, oh) ㅛ (yo) ㅜ (u) ㅠ (yu) ㅣ (i, ee) ㅡ (/ə/ - shwa, think of "a" book)

ㅓ (uh) ㅕ (yuh) - don't get married to this romanization it'll get sniped quick.

You can see in the table, and it's important, that sometimes 2 sounds make one letter in Korean. As in "yo" is a single vowel.

However, they do get doubled up or paired up to make 40 letters in all. They all make sense tho. I'm putting the WHOLE hangul at the end.

As you maybe already know, these letters get together in clusters of syllables.

For example:

B - ㅂ A - ㅏ NG - ㅇ Yes, ng is a single letter in Korean :) = 방

CH - ㅊ A - ㅏ N - ㄴ = 찬

방찬!

You can notice here already that usually the vowel will be between the consonants in a syllable.

That is why, if you want to write Channie - think about how you are pronouncing it, not writing it! - you need a little help from our ㅇ (previously known as 'ng') friend. When it starts a syllable, it's silent. In Korean Channie would be 'Chani' I in Korean is just ㅣ :D but you can't write 찬ㅣ O.O you have to write 찬이 you NEED that consonant before the vowel in the written syllable.

And hey, here's a word that's easy to learn. 방 - Room!

2. Anyway, the silent ㅇ before a vowel rule comes in handy with Lino :) *ee Minho. Don't ask me why west writes this surname as "Lee" there is no L ANYWHERE in the name. He is actually Ee Minho.

So!

I (ee) - ㅣ but as we said we need our silent friend. Therefore

I - 이

Now how many syllables can we split Minho into? Min-Ho, right?

M - ㅁ I - ㅣ N - ㄴ

And so we mush O and A together and we get: ㅘ You can absolutely think of them as separate letters, it will ultimately change nothing for your pronunciation.

H - ㅎ WA - ㅘ NG - ㅇ

Hyunjin splits into 2 syllables.

H - ㅎ YUh* - ㅕ N - ㄴ

J - ㅈ I - ㅣ N - ㄴ

=황현진

(*The is it "oh" or is it "uh" debate is strong with foreigners learning Korean. Generally, this one is considered more of an "uh". But I personally consider it an "o" and you'll see later why.)

But, it's even sadder to do a disservice to it. I do have a shirtless Vader verse, so I will do some canon divergence, but I am picky with AU's. There are ways to have other things that happened not happen, and him still fall. When people expect me to adapt to fix-its, it can make me lose motivation for days at a time. Going on 5 days now.

so the really stupid thing that i have been thinking and doing and keep thinking and doing w/r/t being a "girl" is i keep thinking some variation of:

i am doing this because i am bored/boring, i am doing this because i want to fit in with people who i find interesting/funny/loveable (trans people), i am doing this for attention, i am doing this for clout

and it like keeps happening, over and over, i "get home" from being trans/a girl (to some degree, in my head) and think to myself "ah, that's all well and good, i enjoyed being called that or in some way passively accepted as that, time to return to REAL life and forget about that feeling"

there is some mental thing for me that treats every situation like a bit of a roleplay session, that treats social events and parties and events of any scope like they are completely divorced from reality; like every thing that is not the most frequently reoccurring set of circumstances is not "real." so, in those circumstances, i will enjoy my character "fitting in" to that group and/or having fun from feeling connected to that group; i will BE that role, because in THAT MOMENT, it makes the most sense to be that

but this is where it starts to sound a little unhinged because it's like what "actor" would be so immersed in the role of being a girl that:

they accept and agree to all instances of being called a girl

they accept and spend time considering new names

they accept and consider the possibility of HRT

they accept and enjoy being seen as a "pre" or early transition person

they can't stop talking about gender with anyone they are comfortable with

they are as a man FOR SOME REASON VERY INVESTED IN "INTERNET TRANS CULTURE"

this person is truly such an attention-hungry and affirmation-driven sociopath that going through with this entire "act" of being pre-transition trans -that all the time and thought and consideration (both with and away from others) that it takes up- is worth it to them, FOR SOME REASON, to the point that they no longer even do it consciously
