More ark shenanigans with a friend playing The Hunted mod, which is brutally hard and we can only hatch level 1 babies by snitching guarded eggs or taming guarded babies (parents are level 250). Adults are not tameable. It’s making for a lot of art-worthy scribbles, so here’s a few that I’ve done after play sessions.

Hi Mod Pasta! Hope you’re doing well! Could I please request an angsty scenario of how Kamui Woods would look after s/o going through physical therapy after a freak accident? Sorry if this is too dark. Thank you for all the hard work you’ve done! 🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽❤️
Of course! Nothing is too dark, Meatball, I’m the God of darkness. Pasta. I’m Pasta. This was actually really fun to write..
-Mod Pasta🍜🍝
When he first got the call, he was on a mission with Mt. Lady. The last thing he expected was for you to be out and about-he left you at home, last he recalled, and told you to stay inside because a villain was on the loose in the town next door.
But that wasn’t the problem. The problem was that you had left anyways, and the fucking villain had inspired another smaller villain in the small outlet store you happened to be next to. The villain wasn’t what hurt you; it was the collapse of the building that the villain unintentionally caused by shooting a beam out that ruptured the structure. You were caught in the screams, the pushing, the shoving, and a spare rock had thankfully knocked you out. You didn’t feel the pain of your legs being crushed.
But Nishiya felt it. He felt every second of dread, of second of horror, and every hour that he had to wait. The mission came first, and Mt. Lady made sure it was on hyperdrive. Each minute drudged by, each villain adding more time and more fear for your safety. He wondered if you were afraid right now, but that only caused him to accidentally almost kill one of the villains. He felt a little better knowing that the villain who caused your pain was in handcuffs a couple hours after the accident, but he would only feel relief when he could be with you.
Once he was, though, he didn’t know if he could watch. His beautiful datemate, so perfect in every way, sweet, understanding, and undeserving of this atrocity, was crushed like a fly. He eventually had to leave the observation room to throw up. Yu showed up later with coffee, and Kamui woods silently absorbed it, unable to sleep as you continued through surgery.

Would you ever walk again? The question was simple, the answer… not so much. While yes, you will technically walk again, you’re going to have to work hard. Rigorous physical therapy would take its toll on your mind and body, but Nishiya won’t let you back down. He decided to go with you to therapy when he could, and it pained him to see you struggle through thick and thin just to get a single helped step in, but he helped you celebrate every milestone along the way.
“I know it hurts, I see it-“
“No, I just don’t want to hurt anymore Nishiya! I just want things… I want things to go back to normal, I don’t want this Nishiya, N-Nishiya…” you fell into sobs, curled into a half-ball on his bed as he stood next to you, eyes wide and frantic. He was good at supporting you, but not so good at comforting you. Your tears stained the pillow, and he fell into deep thought at your words. He had to find a way to motivate you.
“Say someth-thing, please Nishi,” you whispered, and he jolted before nodding and slowly getting on his knees beside the bed, a small branch wiggling under your hand, pushing up until his own hand joined yours. You groaned tiredly, but eventually you rested your cheek against him.
“You’re going to do this. You tamed the God of the Woods, you can tame this pain,” he gave you a gentle squeeze, “I know it.”
“But you’re… you’re going to the best hero in a couple years, number one, don’t you want a datemate that can walk you to the ceremony?” You chokes out, a tear falling onto his hand. He silently absorbed it, and a flower began to bloom from that spot.
“No,” his other hand brushed your hair back, forcing you to look at the forest hero, “I want a spouse who loves me despite my past, despite their past, in spite of all the crappy odds,” he paused when your mouth opened in shock, and he began to sprout little pink flowers from his body that broke off, “I mean, yes, I plan to marry you, isn’t that the point of dating?”
“Yeah, yeah it is,” You whispered softly, rubbing your cheek lovingly against his solid hand. His flowers only got worse. That night you fell asleep before he was in bed, needing the sense of solidarity for yourself.
-
When you woke up, though, you were NOT in your bed. Your eyes widened, and you gripped onto your captor harder, “Sh-Shinji?”
“My apologies, I thought you would wake later,” your lover’s mumbled voice set you at ease, and you relaxed into his touch. You were riding his back piggyback style, and his strong arms held you up with ease. You rested against his shoulder, still groggy.
“Why… why are we out here?” You yawned, breathing in cold air that tasted of trees and musky wet dirt. You sniffed again, confirming what you thought; you were in a forest. You and Nishiya used to hike a lot, so this was a little depressing to smell the trees all over again. It was too dark to actually see them.
He didn’t answer, “Nishiya, I don’t want to hike, it’s… too nostalgic,” you muttered, pressing your lips together. You wanted to walk next to him, not be held like a child!
“Then don’t, and let me do it,” he didn’t falter in his steps, continuing on into the darkness. You must have fallen asleep mumbling profanities at some point, because when your eyes opened, you were being set down by Nishiya. He settled next to you, propping you up on a tree. You turned to him, but he was staring up at the sky. It was funny to see him in his pajamas so far out in the wilderness。
“We’re pretty far out,” your voice instantly fell from a whisper into a yell, yet you never changed volume. The sounds of the forest stopped for a second when you spoke, then, if almost apprehensively, they returned. You nearly gasped, but you stopped yourself.
He still didn’t respond. You got a gut feeling that it was better to just soak in the musky, sweet smell of the forest until something else would happen. Kamui wasn’t much for sudden plans, but this seemed more decisive. He had a final, almost omnipotent feeling about him. He knew he was going to do this, and you couldn’t stop him, so it was best for you to just wait. You trusted him with your life.
And so you waited. You probably slept a little too. At some point, at which you don’t know when, he had scooted to your tree and laid against the barren side, his hard tree-like hand over your own. When you finally got the energy to realize this, you gently tugged his silk pajama top and had him lay you in his lap, cuddled up and content. He’s always been self-conscious about cuddling due to his quirk, but you promised him that you loved every curve and divot he had to offer. You remember him blushing like a maniac when you said you wanted to memorize every inch of him.
This almost made you laugh, but you had grown to appreciate the soft hum of the pitch black forest. It wasn’t black forever, though, and just before you felt yourself drifting off for what had to have been the fifth time, your eyes shot open. The sun was coming up, “Nishiya…” you breathed his name, hoping the forest would continue its chorus. Luckily, it did. Nishiya nodded, bringing a hand to your head and brushing your hair back with it. A certain spot on the left side of your head was shaved off for surgery, but you covered it up with the rest of your hair. He always kissed it and you whenever you felt uncomfortable with it.
“This is where I grew up,” You felt your breath tighten in your throat. This is also where his strained childhood happened, and you knew it must have had some effect on him coming out here. But why had he done it? “Obviously not here, but… Here,” he sighed.
You nodded, leaning your head into his touch and causing him to stutter in a fluster, “H-hey…”
“Thank you,” you whispered, seeking more warmth from him as you basked in the glowing sunrise. Now you could see the trees, the bushes, the undergrowth, and a couple nicks on some of the trees as if something sharp had made light contact with them. The marks were all low to the ground, only a couple feet above it, “It’s pretty.”
“(F/N),” You nodded in acknowledgment, “I want you…” he trailed off, and you gave his thigh a short squeeze. That only caused him to clear his throat awkwardly, “I want you to come back here with me-“
“Alright-“ he quickly cut you off when you thought he was done talking.
“I want you to walk back here with me,” The forest suddenly became a whole lot hotter, and you shifted uncomfortably.
“Nishiya, I don’t want to talk about-“ he laughed softly, and you shut up. His laugh was one of your favourite things.
“You didn’t let me finish, (F/N), I want you to walk back here with me as my wife,” your heart skipped a beat. Had you heard him right? You swallowed, curling up against his lap.
“Are you asking me to marry you, Nishiya?” Your words were barely loud enough to hear. His ministrations stopped with your hair, and he instead placed a hand on your stomach.
“Yeah. I guess I didn’t make myself too clear, my apologies,” he traced circles along your skin, hiking your shirt up so you were skin-to-skin.
“We don’t even know if I’ll be able to walk-“ he cut you off by sliding his other hand under your arm, slipping his hand into your own.
“You will. Stop doubting yourself, stop overthinking it, and stop criticizing my fiancé,” he lightly scolded you, and you blinked in surprise before giggling. He sighed in relief; he was hoping you weren’t mad at him.
“Of course I’ll marry you, Shinji Nishiya,” you pulled back to look up at his face.
Oh. It was absolutely, fully, and entirely obstructed by soft pink flowers. You fell into laughter, and he had to spend a good ten minutes calming you down. You had to admit; he was an amazing motivation, and an amazing husband.
