One of the She-Ra servers I'm in did a screenshot event to redraw the Barbie movie poster with an SPOP twist. So, naturally, I did it as Glimmer and Bow and I thought it would be fun to replace the car with the infamous bubble carriage from the original 80s toyline for funsies.
I like to think that one of Glimmer's ancestors used to use this carriage to tour the surrounding towns (like the popemobile but for magic royalty) and, when they are repairing the caverns below Bright Moon after the war, they find it there in storage. Glimmer thinks it's hilarious so they take it out and take pictures with it.
aside from bobo being so unfairly gorgeous, well-spoken and generous with the audience the entire event — here are some specific bits that happened during the viewers interaction.
• a young girl gave her drawing to Bobo, she specifically said that she wants to give it to the one who flies the plane. also said jiayou to Bobo, to which he responded : received! 🫶
• he talked about working closely with test pilots and how the sound of the jets will be stuck in his mind ( gifset i made here )
• thoughts on lei yu and his parents : It's really hard to express in words. I think the relationship with his parents, because Lei Yu is young, he is very aggressive and has his own ideas. He may insist on what he wants to accomplish. , He felt that he had to do this thing and finish it. ( in the previews, his parents are against him being a test pilot because of how dangerous it is )
• he mentioned that actors encourage each other to workout 💪🏻 ( release the workout video! )
• he became teary eyed in one of the exchanges when he learned that one group participating in the audience are visually impaired. so they can only “hear” the movie. Yibo was so touched. Our soft hearted boy! 🥹🥹🥹 this is also the topic that went on HS.
• the interactions are mostly touching, like when a woman who is a retired soldier choked up talking about her experience before and seeing her friends hurt. Also this one, passing the torch to the new generation and Yibo saluting. 🫡
• Yibo saying that the trailer was so compressed. ( i have to agree on this, but that’s good cause there will be more surprises when you watch the actual film )
• Dapeng was there! He was part of the “audience” and asked a question. I really love the support they give each other!
"He leans closer to you and your heart skips a beat at the thought that he wants to kiss you but from his calculating stare you realize that he is waiting for you to sing into the microphone that’s close to his pink lips."
Maxim Horvath (playing, bc he's an actor) the Phantom in @chrism02's fic called 'The Angel of Music' (that you never knew you needed bc this one makes all the romcoms you watch pale in comparison)
*Another bonus drawing found in the fic below the cut
Bonus Drawing (also in the fic): Maxim horvath as the Duke of Mantua (inspired by Luciano Pavarotti's version in Rigoletto)
just found out that the person who plays dana cardinal in wtnv was MATILDA… ?????????? who was going 2 tell me,,, or was i just supposed to find out about this in a oddly targeted ad for bisexuals on instagram.
Gonna be honest, this was such a fucking fever dream when I first saw it at 1am with my sister. Just, caught us waaaay off guard. And this is the ONLY musical number in the ANY of the LEGO DC movies I have seen! (And I have seen a majority of them!) Like, what the fuck?!
Easily the worst DC lego movie I’ve seen, but it’s pretty good to watch ironically. And some less popular characters get a bit more of the spotlight, which is always nice.
But don’t trust the plot summary on HBO Max! A lot of the characters mentioned don’t show up until the last fifteen minutes. Which sucked because Krypto and Ace were the reason we were so curious about this movie!
Also: to ruin your day even more…..
…Barry Allen is voiced by the same person who voiced Johnny Test :)
(Which, honestly, isn’t the most damaging voice actor for DC characters. It’s not like the past roles the VA for Jason Todd in Batman: A Death in the Family movie had done. That gave me psychic damage)
finn wolfhard as richie tozier and finn wolfhard as mike wheeler look so different and act so different that i forget that they're played by the same person and i said (upon seeing a gifset of richie) 'god he reminds me so much of mike' and like. huh i wonder why
I want to say that I can’t believe she did this, but it’s half a lie if I do. Emily will do anything at least once if she can convince herself its for the greater good, or progression of science, and she is very good at convincing herself that everything is.
What I really mean is that I can’t believe there was enough of him left to work with.
I said he was coming with us because in the moment it felt like not just the right choice, but like the only choice. For that moment we weren’t... us.
We weren’t standing in her office looking into strange eyes on a familiar face, we were back in the diner. It was the same feeling when I found them, starving and each with a foot on deaths door, and I knew that leaving them behind wasn’t possible.
I know they were both almost grown when we met, and I’ve never once tried to make them think of me as their father but I chose to make them my responsibility and that never changed.
Leaving Isaac to die in that building has felt like I failed at that, and I worry now that bringing his clone back with us has less to do with the clone and more to do with me attempting to assuage that guilt.
Maybe my life has just been a series of failures and attempts at fixing those failures then failing themselves, and it’s just an endless circle I’ll never break free of.
If that’s the case, what was I trying to fix when I found them in that diner?
