#even if tempest #otome #just saying his love for norna is kind of what made him turn evil #so anastasia SAVING him and redeeming him through love would be A+++ #and the game even implied it would/should happen! she literally told norna to leave ish to her #and then just... ignored him in purgatory to pursue her own happy ending #so we were ROBBED and deserve a proper route with him (and not just a Q&A session) #if nothing else i hope he's got a big role again because i want to see and hear more of him #tetsuya kakihara did GREAT work with him. i'm most familiar with fran from code realize #but holy shit he popped off in this role. there's just an energy to it - sometimes malevolent sometimes playful #and i just WANT MORE. ideally he gets a route but failing that make him a prominent character regardless #for the record i'm ALWAYS greedy for more love interests in any game #(in this game alone i also desperately want routes for maya and hugo for instance) #but he's one of a small handful who truly seems like he SHOULD have been and just. wasn't. #so until the FD comes out and shatters my dreams i'll hold onto hope

Saw an Anastasia Jegulus edit so had thoughts:

Jegulus Anastasia where 10 year old Regulus doesn’t remember who he is and is separated from Sirius for a decade after the rest of their family gets assassinated (while the boys are trying to flee with their Uncle Alphard to Paris). He grows up in an orphanage surrounded by other children and learns quickly to be independent. Somehow his fingers still remember how to stroke piano keys beautifully, so he sits on a creaky old bench each morning to bring music to the bleak grey of the drafty orphanage walls.

James and Remus are drifters/con men doing tricks to get money for their next meal. Growing up together in a small village, they’re as thick as thieves when they move to the big city to try to start their lives. They want to leave and start a new adventure, but can’t afford to and they hear a rumor that the youngest Black son is still alive somewhere (there’s a generous reward for any that bring hope/information) and plan a con to trick Sirius with their own “Regulus Black” lookalike. (Or maybe James and Sirius were best friends in the palace where James’ mother worked and James is genuinely wanting to see his childhood friend again).

James runs (literally runs) into Reggie as he’s being chased by police for stealing a loaf of bread (gotta do what you gotta do) and he knocks him over and instantly falls hard when he meets light blue eyes and a scowl that has him scrambling up, pulling Regulus with him. Regulus doesn’t trust James (even though he wants to bc he feels oddly safe with him).

Adventure ensues and in the end Reggie & Sirius are reunited in Paris (cries into my pillow) after a decade and it’s a beautiful reunion. Sirius recognizes the melody Regulus plays on the piano (it’s one that their Uncle taught them as little boys) and he instantly knows it’s his baby brother. Also obviously has Wolfstar heheh but I haven’t thought that far but maybe a bit of enemies to lovers Wolfstar bc Remus can’t stand Sirius the first time he meets him (thinks he’s a snob and this spoiled rich boy)…idk HMMM

I might write it one day.

politics-heavy hard-SF space opera, thrilling heroics, (almost) zero easy answers to the dilemma of the day, main themes are “people are always going to be people” and “the end justifies the means, but there is no end”. obviously this describes both settings nicely.
