Ted blinked at her, looking a little stunned, and Rebecca loved him, she did, and respected his opinion hell of a lot more than she did most other people’s, but sometimes he just didn’t get it.   

“Well, no, but to be honest, I kinda thought you might have had already, what with you no longer feeling the need to destroy him and those other things you said.”

i was thinking of the strip in which italy loses the iron cross given to him by germany today. it was a bit of a throwaway gag but the necklace always remained in a lot of fanart as a representation of their friendship and bond. i think it’s cute, but even italy losing the damn thing aside, it doesn’t have much of an appropriate application or use in modern day settings.

though the iron cross predates WWII and isn’t technically an offensive symbol on its own (i most commonly see it being used by punks and other self identifying anti-conformist subcultures) it’s also likely still used as a dog whistle in conjunction with other things. it just doesn’t work beyond WWII settings in my opinion.

i’ve thought that maybe modern-day germany could give italy a new necklace, removed from any symbology related to nationality or pacts/alliances and instead related to their own humanity and friendship. the regular cross/crucifix is an obvious choice, because it is commonly worn by men (catholic and otherwise) and can be an understated design. but it lacks a more personal meaning.

beyond that, germany sometimes lacks taste (tomato ring?? i mean it’s cute but like wtf) so we can only hope that maybe he bought something italy was already eyeing or got help from romano. perhaps he’d think it was too personal of a gift to give and instead opted for something like a rosary. he’s a sucker for acts of service and gift-giving, i feel like he just wants to adorn him in all sorts of pretty and/or practical things.

unless we’re talking about established gerita. i think germany would propose with a ring that compliments the undertones of italy’s skin, but wedding rings are an entirely separate can of worms. collars too.

went into a frenzy late on saturday, sensory and dysphoria hell with my hair length. but it was 5pm and nobody was available to cut my hair. and sunday was easter so nobody was open. so i have been vibrating out of my skin for like 48 hours. but today after work i hit up the great clips and got my shit so right. butching it up on a monday afternoon.

the topic of how things would have been years ago came up, and i was driven to whip up a quick doodle between projects of how KK would have looked like during his first year or so in Vinyl City

this is before the current look of DJ Dragonflyte, and before his official DJ setup with the blocks! his style of music would probably have been closer to Hard Trance rather than Hardcore Techno. and his style of fashion would have included a lot of jackets and accessories...until later on he realized that the jackets were too hot to walk around in and stuck to short-sleeved button-downs instead. (which meant sacrificing the jacket pins as well :c )

zyxx fans if youre starved for silly scifi content might i suggest the podcast Live and Let Fly; my listening experience is like being able to breathe air again after zyxx ended.

what it is: an actual play Starfinder podcast with an emphasis on roleplaying and character interaction, primarily a comedy interspersed with compelling drama. the cast is playing the Fly Free or Die adventure path from Paizo, following a crew of working class characters as they run errands for a corporate shipping company.

why zyxx fans would like it:

1. it’s good improv. theres a lot of yes-anding in this group. they feed off of each other’s energy extremely well with a good balance of silly and serious scenes. i laugh out loud frequently while listening to this series.

2. the cast has great chemistry. adam, zac, john, emily, josh, and heath have been close friends for a very long time and its very clear they’re having a good time together when they play. its really fun to listen to their dynamic as collaborative storytellers because they know how push each others buttons while respecting each others boundaries. the communication between all the players is a big factor in why the show has such a strong, solid narrative element. really talented group of comedians and storytellers.

3. the characters are varied and interesting. its a space drama, so you run into a lot of fun alien characters in this world, plus the crew itself is full of weirdos. the captain is an autistic space wolf. the mechanic is a sweet yet murderous bug lady. the pilot is a three foot tall rat guy with a gun. the list goes on. racial/gender/class differences aside, everyone is insane in a unique and opposing way, so character interactions are always fun.

4. heavy societal satire. the crew works for a faceless heartless corporate entity. no matter what they do they cant seem to catch a break. its a lot of similar tongue in cheek humor to what the crew of the bargarean jade goes through.

theres lots of other reasons why this show is good but i dont want to make this post ten miles long. give it a listen if it sounds up your alley. im a huge fan and its filling the scifi improv void in my heart ❤️

Just kinda... putting this out into the universe for right now, but I've been thinking really hard about getting my old enamel pin collections back in circulation, as well as maybe releasing them as stickers as well (for a budget option and also for things you can't put enamel pins on). I had to throw out basically all my remaining stock when I moved (which... oouugh it still hurts), so I might essentially run a "reboot" kickstarter to get another batch of Dire Hounds made and then try again to get the full Grimalkins set funded. A few things this would let me do:

update the templates for slightly cleaner manufacturing, and update the backer cards with accurate artist info because man that was really bothering me

like I said, hopefully get the second half of the Grimalkins produced so they're a proper six-pin collection like the first one

network! Now that I'm in a big city I think I honestly might have better luck with consignment stores and craft fairs than I ever did with only an online shop, and more visibility can only mean good things.

I'm also still definitely planning to make idog merch, and beyond that I'd potentially love to lean even further into the cyberpunk and y2k aesthetics to really hone my Brand™, but obviously that requires original thought and creative effort while getting the dogs and cats remade just requires pulling the old AI files off my poor aging iMac.
