not a sad ‘woe is me’ post so don’t send me weird messages but: the thing abt cycling through every ED possible and being bulimic for like 10 yrs & making yourself vomit up to 10x times per day on ur worst days is that your teeth and gums will eventually give out on you (bc it doesn’t make a difference if you’ve been good & it doesn’t matter how well you’ve taken care of your teeth for the last x years) and u will be 30 years old crying to your very sweet and kind dentist when she tells you about the 1 million things that are wrong with ur teeth
#anyway i feel strongly compelled to quit my job and dedicate my entire life to speaking out abt eating disorders#& doing research & writing & advocating for people who are suffering#women who are suffering#i think this is honestly my life’s calling!!!! i just don’t know where to start#you know movies glamorize having anorexia & it’s always like: she is the most beautiful girl in the world…but so sad…she doesn’t eat :(#i need to make movies that have scenes like that one chapter of i’m glad my mom died:#where jennette has been throwing up like 15 times a day and her tooth falls out#and she’s literally just like: yeah i’ll deal with that later#& instead of writing about a beautiful skinny white girl who is upset about eating carrots at inpatient#i would just force people to read/watch the things in this thread:#https://www.reddit.com/r/EDAnonymous/s/H1C3JZyvFK#because that’s the reality#the one comment in that thread ‘i ate something poisonous because i hoped it would make me puke’#like yeah same. LOL. & i always thought i was the only one so fucked in the head#anyway society is very cruel to women and i need to do something about it. genuinely whereeee do i even begin#i guess i have been writing a lot abt my personal experience and all the disgusting things ppl like to avoid talking abt#and how my mother made me this way etc#i could def make a memoir out of it. maybe i’ll do that.#i would love to have more options than just. trauma porn.#ah anyway maybe i’ll open a nonprofit. IDK. i just need to make a lot of noise somehow

I would just like to say how hard it hits me in the chest to see Charlie masking every time she's onscreen the day before the fight (including what we see on Vox's spy screens of course), except when no one is with her but Vaggie. Even during her emotional speech she tries so damn hard to keep that confidence up and smile on. But we do see her stop masking twice, when the only person watching her is Vaggie.
First:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
No one's really paying attention to her, and she's not smiling; she's worried. When Vaggie approaches her, she doesn't put on a happy face. She talks about her mom with the same smile as in the first episode (during a very emotionally vulnerable moment with Vaggie, might I add). It's not happy or confident. It's nostalgic, wistful, and sad, because her mom's absence is something very personal and painful for her. When Vaggie asks if they're ready, Charlie doesn't instantly start to smile or answer with confidence even though she usually would (even within that short beat of time), because her mask is off. She's not confident or optimistic. She's scared. She's not ready.
Then Pentious comes out and she's all smiles again! The mask comes back on when someone other than Vaggie is there.
Second:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of course, one of our favorite scenes. Charlie's alone when she breaks down, but when Vaggie shows up, she keeps the mask off. She admits how scared she is. When she does smile, it's not the big smile she's been throwing on throughout the day, and it's not strained either. It's soft, gentle, and real. She's not masking. Vaggie is genuinely making her feel better when she's finally letting herself fall apart, just by being there and reminding her that no matter what happens, she's already accomplished so much, and she's so loved.
Charlie is under a lot of stress and pressure. She's scared. She's not as optimistic as she's making herself out to be. She's giving everything she's got out there being a strong, confident, inspirational leader and friend in front of everyone, and it's only with Vaggie that she lets it go. She doesn't have to try to be strong. She doesn't pretend. She lets down her guard, because for her, Vaggie is that one infinitely special person who gets to see every part of her; the one person she can always be her honest self with.
There were plenty of times in other episodes when Charlie didn't mask her negative emotions around people, but that was when she didn't have anyone looking to her as a leader. She's running on adrenaline and the weight of people's expectations as Extermination Day gets closer, and she can't let the mask she's put on slip in public. She has to seem like she's totally ready for what's coming. But Vaggie is different.
The amount of trust and love Charlie has for her is staggering. She's under an insane amount of stress and pressure, and having Vaggie by her side is probably the only thing keeping her from completely falling to pieces. Seeing a relationship so full of deep trust and love is absolutely beautiful. <3

I'll Crawl Home To Her - Wanda Maximoff Oneshots
Tumblr media
Summary: A rewrite of the fight scene in WandaVision, with a less aggressive but equally painful discussion.
Warnings: canon-typical Westview angst, talking about magical submission and free will, established relationship, some grief mentions, rough kissing just because I can, love confessions/reaffirmations | Words: 1.644k
A/N-> I'm just rewriting loose scenes from WandaVison, none of which are really going to end up in anything bigger. But I hope it's a decent read.
General Masterlist | AO3 | Wattpad
-&-
“It’s not often that you get a dog and bury them the same day.”
To your line, Wanda could have chosen to mumble in agreement. She could have said she was sorry, or she could have chosen to remain silent.
Instead, she chooses sarcasm, as if she had a good idea of how ridiculous everything was starting to get around that town.
“Well, life moves pretty fast out in the suburbs.”
You end up sighing, able to feel the anger slowly building up in you. Wanda continues to put toys away, and you decide to wipe your hands on the nearest dishcloth before turning to your wife.
"I spoke to Norm this morning." You start with a serious look on your face, and Wanda, oh your beautiful, stubborn wife, makes a mocking expression. You don't understand why she's acting this way. "He told me things that really frightened me, Wanda."
It was her turn to take a deep breath, the confidence in her expression wavering for a second. There was only one balcony between the two of you, but somehow the emotional distance was immeasurably greater.
Wanda looks you in the eye. "What's that supposed to mean, darling?"
“You tell me.”  You hit back without hesitation. But what you get from Wanda is a tired sigh, falsely innocent.
"I didn't know it was charades night again." She continues to mock.
You can't remember if Wanda was ever cruel, but it's a fact that you can't remember anything that happened before Westview.
"I got scared because he was scared, Wanda!" You insist, approaching the counter to lean on one hand, while the other gestures your despair. "It was like a different person, a real, suppressed personality crying out to be released. It was accidental, of course, to discover this. But I'm not an idiot, Wanda. I can see what you're doing. The things that are changing around us every time something gets out of your control. And I don't understand why, and you won't talk to me, and I'm so scared!"
The tears in your eyes match hers. "Stop." She pleads earnestly, but you shake your head.
"You don't want this." You say.
Despite the emotion in her eyes, and the thick tears, Wanda gives a short, ironic laugh, her head tilting slightly. "Don't I?"
"If you did, I wouldn't know. I wouldn't be able to see, to question.” You sigh.”You’ve always been so... extraordinary." Her expression suddenly flinches at the compliment. "Your abilities, your power, I can't tell what happened before this place, but I know about now. There's not a trace of doubt in my mind about you, about how magnificently powerful I've always perceived you to be. Not even about how much I love and trust you." Wanda swallows dryly at your words, but you give a sad sigh. "Then I don't understand why you keep letting me see the flaws. If you're going to lie to me, leave me in the dark. Because I think I'm losing my mind little by little. I can't ignore the suffering of those people, and I can't ignore the uncertainty that grows in my chest every second. I can't remember anything, Wanda. I see those pictures on our walls, those fabricated memories, and nothing reaches me. I can't even recall if I had any kind of family before this place."
Wanda comes around the counter with a certain desperation, her hands reaching for your face. "You have a family. Me and the boys, why can't that be enough?"
Your hands reach for hers. "It's not that, sweetheart. Our family is perfect. This life is the closest to heaven I could get. But I can't be at peace with it at the cost of other people's suffering. I can't ignore their pain."
"I'll help you think of something else." She responds with a nod, pulling your face in to kiss you firmly.
Kissing Wanda has always been intoxicating, a sensation that's easy to get lost in. But fresh in your mind is your coworker, terrified and begging you to get away from this place. Get away from your wife.
You pull away, breaking the kiss and ignoring the way your whole body protests. Wanda is equally out of breath, but the gleam in her eyes hides a deep irritation.
"Wanda, I-
"Save it." She interrupts, turning her back on you. You catch a glimpse of a new form of anger and hurt in her eyes at being rejected. You sigh impatiently, following her instantly.
"You're not going to run away from this conversation, Wanda, I need to know what's going on in this place!" You practically beg, yelling at her back because Wanda just keeps walking towards the stairs. You huff angrily and teleport immediately into her path. She jumps slightly in fright, grimacing with impatience and taking two steps backward, away from the steps as you insist; "Please. Talk to me."
"There's nothing to say if you don't believe me when I tell you there's nothing wrong." But you shake your head at the words, one hand pulling your hair back. Wanda chuckles humorlessly.  "See, you already have an opinion on the subject. On me. I'm already the villain in your story, darling, so why don't you keep digging behind my back and end this whole thing?"
She mentions going upstairs again, but you stand in her way, one hand pulling her face towards yours. The kiss is more intense than the one in the kitchen, heated enough for Wanda to gasp into your mouth.
She's ready to reciprocate with the same eagerness when you break it, the hand on her cheek caressing her skin.
"Because I love you, Wanda Maximoff." You whisper against her lips, and it's not just the words, but the devotion in your gaze that makes Wanda's legs wobble. You offer her a small smile, an air of lost battle in your expression. "There is no part of me that would plan and act against you. Even here, with the truth scratching at the walls, where I could if I wanted to access the suffering of these people, I wouldn't turn against you. I can only beg for a little mercy, my love. Take the pain away from me, the doubt. I will be loyal and complicit in any of your desires and decisions."
Wanda sobs, hugging you before you can say anything. You can't remember anything that came before, but she can, as clearly as if she were there. And Wanda loved every trace of your old self as much as she loves this Westview version, willing to do anything she asks. It's not so different from the person she lost, with the most striking exception that makes it clear in that moment, that nothing could ever replace the real you.
You would have taken Wanda out of that fantasy. For better or worse, even if she hated you afterward, even if she never forgave you, you wouldn't let her cross lines through grief, you wouldn't let her lose herself again. After all, that's what you swore to do after witnessing first-hand all the guilt she carried for Ultron's madness and the accident in Lagos. Your true version would never let her drown in sorrow and hurt people again.
But the Westview version, so sweet and devoted, would stroke her back and say the same thing you always used to say, even if now you can't remember it.
"I'm sorry if I made you cry, princess, I never meant to. Look at me so I can bring your smile back."
Wanda holds on a little tighter, tears staining your blouse. The vast majority of the times she had heard this phrase, it had been at much less dramatic moments. While she had a passion for sitcoms and things that made her laugh, you liked more emotional movies that could make you cry. And every time you had a movie session, you would tell her that, easily achieving your goal of putting a smile on your girlfriend's face. But there were also times when the situations were dramatic - a poorly planned workout where Wanda ended up hurting you and tears of guilt escaped her and you tried to make her feel better by saying that same phrase. Or when you had a fight and it got a bit out of hand, and you started your apologies that way.
Or when Thanos took you from her, and Wanda had to hear it twice because of a time stone.
She doesn't want to hear it for a third occasion.
You're ready to say something, maybe apologize, when Wanda breaks the hug. But she holds your cheeks and presses her mouth to yours. Slowly, allowing you to taste even the saltiness of her tears. There's a shaky sigh escaping from between your lips as she breaks away again, but your affected gaze changes to a curious one as red irises stare back at you.
"I'll make it better." She whispers, nodding slightly. You swallow dry, closing your eyes and resting your forehead against hers.
The only thing you whisper is exactly what makes her hesitate. "I trust you, Wanda."
She ignores the internal conflict and lifts one of her hands to stroke the back of your neck. It must be easy, especially within Hex, to change your mind. To make you no longer question.
You repeat that you love her, and Wanda brings trembling fingers to your forehead.
She suddenly becomes very aware that consciously, she could never do that to you. She would rather you found out everything and hated her than take away your free will. To turn you into another puppet.
She sighs shakily, ready to say she'll put an end to this whole place when the doorbell rings.
Nothing could prepare her for seeing her twin brother again, but that's another story. Besides, not that Wanda has any idea, far away from there, a fallen Avenger is being stitched back together while calling her name in their sleep.

masterlist
Tumblr media
SOMETHING UGLY KINDLES IN THE PIT of Lo'ak's stomach at the mere mention of your name. It's sour on his tongue, bitter in his brain. He doesn't know when he's started to feel like this, started to feel absolutely dreadful anytime he'd hear the timbre of your voice.
It's warm, thick like nectar and it makes him sick.
Ever since you all were little, the elders crooned over what a great girl you were growing into; strong, intelligent, beautiful. It made him boil how much they'd sing your praises, the high esteem everyone held you in as one of the clan's most talented.
Something dull would pick at him being compared to his older brother, but nothing burned more than being compared to you.
Maybe it's because it's always implied whenever your names share the same sentences, that lingering implication that he could be more like you. The clan fans the flames of your mere existence while Lo'ak is snuffed out like a dying fire.
He hates it. He hates you.
He thinks.
It'd be easier to, if you were awful behind the scenes. Arrogant, stuck up, but you're none of those things. You're kind, gentle, mighty when you need to be. It doesn't help that you shine like the brightest star, engulfing everyone in your light, in your warmth.
But Lo'ak resists. He sees right through you, sees right through every saccharine smile you send him. He can see it in your eyes, how you really see him. Despite standing a full head taller than you, he sees the way you look down your nose at him.
It grates his nerves, how disgustingly sweet you are towards him despite all attempts to rebuff you.
Certainly doesn’t soothe his ego when you always seem to be around the bend every time he gets bitched at by the clan, eyes soft and filled with pity. To add insult to injury, you frequently tail him like a shadow after these moments when all he wants is to be alone.
Like now, you linger.
It's after dinner and Kiri and Spider stand before him. They come together like the three points of a triangle and you stand an awkward distance away from them.
Kiri notices you first, her face splitting into a big smile as she waves you over.
Lo'ak breathes a deep sigh before locking eyes with Spider who tries his best to suppress an amused grin.
“Hi,” you chirp and Lo'ak can't help but roll his eyes.
Spider and Kiri greet you eagerly. Lo'ak simply nods his head in acknowledgement before tightening his fist around his dagger.
“We going or what?” he finally says.
You perk up.
“Where are you guys heading off to?” you ask curiously, hands clasped behind your back.
Spider opens his mouth to answer, but Lo'ak cuts him off quickly.
“No where important,” he says, unsure if you'll blab about their whereabouts to the elders, or worse, his parents.
You roll your lips and shift on your feet.
“Can I come?” you ask hesitantly, eyes hopeful.
Kiri's smile grows as she links her arm with yours.
“No,” he says sharply. “Absolutely not.”
Your face falls and something pulls inside his chest when you fail meet his gaze, your frown barely perceptible.
You make a move to pull from Kiri's grasp, but her arm tightens through yours. She levels Lo'ak with a weighty glare and you fidget uncomfortably under his narrowed eyes.
“Don't worry about it,” you say, like someone's hit a reset button. You smile that pretty smile and Lo'ak wants to scream. "It's okay, I think Rutan needs help with clean up."
You slip from Kiri's grasp and the three watch you walk off.
“Do you always have to be such a bitch?” Spider scoffs a disbelieving laugh.
“She's just gonna tag along so she can snitch,” Lo'ak grumbles.
“Oh c'mon,” Kiri argues. “________ just wants friends.”
Lo'ak sneers.
“I don't want to be friends with her,” he says firmly, knuckles white around the handle of his knife.
“Weirdo,” Spider mumbles. “She’s cute. Think she likes you.”
Lo'ak's spine stiffens.
“It's an act” Lo'ak grumbles. “She just wants to look good in front of the elders to keep up whatever nice girl show she's putting on.”
Kiri rolls her eyes hard.
Tumblr media
There are moments when Lo'ak thinks he's being harsh, but he can't help himself. It's like he loses all semblance of a filter when it comes to you.
“Hi, Lo'ak,” you greet him sweetly, lowering yourself onto the fallen log he's perched on, fashioning arrows to practice with later on in the evening with Neteyam.
He shifts away from you, putting the distance of two bodies between the two of you as he pauses his task at hand.
“Hi,” he says flatly.
“Can I help?” you ask tentatively, fingers twitching towards one of the untouched sticks in a pile next to his feet.
His kicks them closer to himself, out of your reach before leveling you with a sharp glare.
“No thanks,” he says quickly and you recoil slowly, letting out a shaky laugh before fixing that stupid smile on your pretty face.
“Oh, sorry,” you apologize, straightening in your seat.
A silence so uncomfortably palpable settles over the two of you as you shift so that your knees are turned towards him.
His throat bobs when his gaze travels from your little toes all the way up to your inquisitive gaze, golden and searching. It makes something unruly settle in his gut and he turns his attention back to carving his arrows.
“Do you need something?” he breaks the silence finally. “I'm kinda busy.”
You bite your lip before scooting a little closer to Lo'ak's hunched figure.
“My birthday's coming up,” you start.
“I'm aware,” Lo'ak almost scoffs.
It's all the clan has been able to talk about for the past few days. How they'd be able to prepare for the golden girl's next birth cycle and what they'd be able to do to make you smile the brightest.
“Your birthday is a week before,” you state and his head whips towards you.
“How do you know that?” he asks sharply, accusation heavy in his gruff tone.
You flinch and he falters for a moment before your smile simply widens.
“We grew up together, Lo'ak,” you say and the way his name sounds from your mouth sounds absolutely heavenly. “You're my friend.”
Friend.
He scowls at the term.
“We're not friends,” he bites back.
If the statement bothers you, you don't show it, simply tucking a strand of hair behind your ear before putting on a brave face.
“I want to celebrate with you,” you say shyly.
“Hard pass,” he says too quickly, gathering his sticks and fashioned arrows under his grasp.
He leaves you in the clearing on your own.
Tumblr media
You must be fucking with him. You have to be. It'd be the only explanation for why Jake pulls him aside a few nights later and tells him that you've requested to work with him and Neteyam during archery practice.
“No,” he says stiffly, shaking his head.
His dad levels him with a hard glare and Lo'ak sighs deeply.
“She's a nuisance, Dad,” he argues. “Me and Neteyam are making good progress with our training and we'll have to start at square one if she joins.”
“Lo'ak, this isn't an ask,” Jake says sternly.
“But, Dad!”
“Lo'ak.”
Lo'ak huffs, snatching his bow and quiver angrily before storming off.
Tumblr media
“You're doing great,” Neteyam says to you once the three of you have convened in the training circle.
The three arrows you've shot have all landed within centimeters of the mark and to say that Neteyam is impressed is an understatement. Lo'ak, on the other hand, fumes not-so-silently as he tears his arrows from his target.
Yet again, you have another person wrapped around your finger and it makes his blood simmer as he assumes his position at the marker and loads his arrow. It splinters through the air and hits the target right on the bullseye. The arrow punctures through the hide and lodges its way into the wood from the sheer force of Lo’ak’s shot.
You start at him moon-eyed, lush lips breaking into a full smile.
“Perfect shot,” you observe. “That was awesome.”
Lo’ak scans your features hesitantly before his gaze flits to his older brother, waiting for any acknowledgment that he’d done a great job, but Neteyam is taking notes on the arrows still stuck in the fabric of your own target.
His heart sinks.
“Fuck this,” Lo’ak grumbles, bundling all of his belongings.
He stalks through the clearing, past his brother, to leave you two.
He doesn’t know what fuels the fire more, the fact that Neteyam didn’t even bat an eye at the feat they’d been practicing for for the past three weeks because he was too immersed in you, or the fact that you bore witness to his first clean shot and gave him that sickeningly sweet smile that made his stomach turn.
“Where are you going?” Neteyam sighs.
“Somewhere you two aren’t,” he grumbles under his breath, ducking through the brush of the lofty forest.
You lick your lips, locking eyes with Neteyam as you give him a bashful grin and slowly break away to follow Lo’ak’s path.
He isn’t far ahead as you push through the vines and low-hanging leaves, the path lined with large plants and the spindly roots of the looming trees. The grass is plush between your toes as you scamper to follow Lo’ak from a distance, watching as his lithe body climbs through the dense flora.
“Why are you following me?” he calls after a few dozen paces, stopping in the middle of the path to whirl on his heel.
His golden eyes are syrupy, warm despite the edge, and you can’t help but flash him your pearly whites in a genuine smile that takes up your dimpled cheeks.
“Why’d you run off?” you ask him. “You were doing so well!”
His chest rises and falls with a scoff.
“You can give it a rest, you know?” Lo’ak says flatly, fist so tight around his bow he feels like he’ll crush the wood.
Your expression morphs, eyebrows furrowing in a way that makes Lo’ak throat bob, something pinching behind his ribcage.
“What?” you ask, frown marring your pretty face.
“I don’t know what you’re playing at, but you can stop acting like you wanna be friends with me,” Lo’ak says matter-of-factly.
“You are my friend,” you protest quietly.
Lo’ak rolls his eyes.
“Dude, whatever,” he mutters, turning his back on you.
“Is it so wrong?” you murmur and he stops in his tracks, refusing to meet your gaze. “To be friends?”
Friends.
That stupid fucking word again.
Lo’ak bites his tongue and stalks off, leaving you on the path.
Tumblr media
Neteyam rips him a new one when he sees him at dinner later that night. Lo’ak hangs his head as Neteyam digs in.
“Is it so hard to be nice?” Neteyam asks, hand squeezing his shoulder as they stand a handful of meters away from the main circle.
As his eyes wander, he notices you sitting with his sister, head thrown back in laughter that glitters and wafts with the rising smoke of the fire. He swallows turning his attention back to his older brother.
“Just don’t like her,” he admits. “I want her to leave me alone.”
“You don’t like her or you like her too much?” Neteyam asks, brow bone raised.
Lo’ak’s face scrunches.
“Ew, no,” he blurts. “Why would I—”
“________ just wants to fit in,” he sighs. “She has trouble making friends.”
“Yeah, I wonder why,” Lo’ak mocks. “I don’t know why Kiri and Spider are always up her ass, she’s—”
“Lo’ak,” Neteyam warns.
“Dude, everyone is always ________ this, _________ that! I don’t understand what’s so great about her—”
A throat clears and the brothers both turn their attention to the newcomer. Lo’ak could groan in frustration seeing that you’ve abandoned your seat and now stand nearby with two wooden plates.
“They’re going to start cleaning up soon,” you say hesitantly. “Wanted to bring you some.”
Neteyam takes it graciously from you, nodding his head in thanks while Lo’ak stares down at the plate you’d arranged for him, abundant in vegetables and thick cuts of meat.
“No thanks,” he says flatly.
You try to coax him.
“C’mon Lo’ak, you say gently. “I know you haven’t eaten yet.”
“No thanks,” he repeats stonily, holding his hand up.
You offer up the plate again.
“Lo’ak–“
“I said no thank you,” he grunts, annoyed.
He’d only meant to push it back towards you, but one second it’s in your hands, the next you’re wearing dinner, the plate clattering onto the ground.
“Lo’ak!” Neteyam scolds.
“Shit, I didn’t–”
“It’s fine,” you breathe an airy laugh and Lo’ak freezes when he hears your breath hitch. “It was an accident.”
“Oh, ________…” Neteyam sighs, but you’re picking up the plate and scurrying off, ignoring the nearby snickering.
Tumblr media
“Whatever you got going on, you need to cool it,” Jake scolds him in the family tent after dinner that night. “________ is a good girl, she’s trying to find her place. Can’t really do that if you’re gonna be a jerk to her all the time.”
Lo’ak resists the urge to roll his eyes because, yet again, someone is sticking up for you, admonishing him about how he could be nicer, how he could take you under his wing, how he–
“What about me?” Lo’ak argues. “I tell her to leave me alone all the time, but she doesn’t listen. Why do I have to be nice to someone who doesn’t respect–”
“Cut the bullshit,” Jake thunders. “You haven’t even tried being her friend.”
“Why should I?” Lo’ak counters.
“Because maybe you two are more alike than you’d care to learn,” Jake says knowingly. “Now go apologize.”
“Dad!”
“Go, Lo’ak.”
Lo’ak sucks in a deep breath before squeezing his eyes shut and blowing out through his nose.
“Fine, fine, whatever,” he grumbles, ducking from the tent into the humid night air.
He starts into the jungle, fingers brushing over the leaves and petals of the plants and flowers. He takes the moment to regulate his pounding heart in his chest before trying to wrack his brain for any words that he could scrounge into a believable apology.
When he crosses the glowing waters of a skinny brook, something rustles nearby and his hand is on the hilt of his dagger in the blink of an eye.
He turns to face the noise, knife drawn, but then you emerge and his body relaxes a fraction.
“Fuck, ________, you scared me,” he sighs in relief.
You fidget and swallow down the lump in your throat.
“Sorry,” you say sheepishly.
A brief silence dawns the two of you and Lo’ak notes that you’ve cleaned up from the evening meal’s debacle, now wearing a longer loincloth threaded with round pearlescent beads that refract the luminescence of the surrounding forest.
Your grasp tightens around a leather bound journal and for a moment, he wonders what you could be writing about.
When you follow his gaze, you shyly tuck the journal behind your back and give him an uneasy smile.
“I wanted to–”
“I came to–”
Your words clash and you breathe a little laugh through your nose as you gaze at him with brilliant eyes. You start closing the distance and Lo’ak’s hands grow clammy.
“You first,” you offer.
Whatever threads of an apology he’d crafted in the moments prior have evaporated now that you stand before him, absolutely glowing.
“Lo’ak?” Your head tilts and his cheeks warm.
“Sorry,” he says hoarsely. “For what happened at dinner.”
You shake your head quickly.
“You don’t have to apologize,” you assure him, reaching out to touch him.
He recoils, clearing his throat as he retreats to put an ample amount of distance between the two of you.
You eye the berth and something shutters across your face as you rock back on your heels and flash him another uneasy smile.
You haven’t even tried being her friend, his dad’s words echo like a call in the night. Maybe you two are more alike that you care to learn.
Were you? You and Lo’ak were as different as they come, you molded by the love and adoration of the clan, him built up by the lessons and lectures he received from his parents and Neteyam.
“Where are you going?” you ask, blowing by the previous conversation.
He shrugs.
“Dunno,” he admits. “I was looking for you.”
The way you freeze is almost covert, your lips rolling as you try to hide the smile threatening to split your face.
“Oh,” you hum. “Wanna go for a walk?”
No, he wants to say. He absolutely does not want to spend anymore time with you than he has to. Likes to believe that he wouldn’t even bat an eye if he were to never see you again, but you’re looking at him expectantly and his dad’s words are like a mantra in his head, so he agrees begrudgingly.
It’s awkward at first, silent except for the natural soundtrack of the vicarious jungle. But like you do so well, you break the silence and Lo’ak has to resist rolling his eyes for the third time that night.
“What are your favorite colors?” you ask suddenly.
“I dunno, green?” he offers.
“Are you sure?” you laugh quietly.
Lo’ak thinks a moment before nodding his head.
“Yeah, green,” he finalizes. “And blue.”
He barely notices that you’d fallen behind, and when he turns to look over his shoulder, he sees that you’re scratching something into your little journal.
“And your favorite fruit?” you press, nose still between the pages.
Lo’ak breathes out a laugh and your head shoots up.
“What? You gonna send this list to the lab?” Lo’ak asks.
You give him a shy smile, shifting on your feet.
“No,” you say softly, then whisper to yourself, “just compiling a list to win your heart.”
Lo’ak barely hears you, ears twitching as his eyes narrow in confusion.
“What?” he asks.
You snap your notebook shut, shaking your head quickly as you pad through the grass to catch up to him.
“Nothing.”
Tumblr media
Something ripples in the fabric after that night, you and Neteyam both notice when Lo’ak enters the training clearing the next afternoon and greets you with a nod instead of flat out ignoring your presence like he had the last training session.
And you think that the moment is fleeting, a one off, but as the days progress, you realize that maybe Lo’ak is finally softening around you.
He stays for entire lessons, the most minute of smiles twitching at his lips whenever you compliment his shots. He waits near the edge for you as you pack up your things, and while the walk back to the village is a quiet one, you bask in his company, triumphant when he doesn’t run off.
And while your evening walks are few and far between, you savor the moments he affords you, wedging yourself between him the crumbling walls of his facade.
Tonight is one of those moments, sitting on adjacent branches overlooking the lively forest, when Lo’ak lets you peek farther into his life than he’d originally intended.
“He never understands,” he sighs, popping a few berries from his satchel past his lips.
Tonight’s topic is his father and you listen intently, eyes fixed on the way he reclines on the branch and looks up at the stars.
“I try hard, you know? To make everyone proud, but all they see is my failure,” he says, obviously annoyed. “No matter what I do, it’s not good enough.”
“You do great things, Lo’ak,” you say quietly, the first words you’ve said all night.
And like your voice is a reminder, Lo’ak’s spine goes rigid, throat bobbing as he realizes that he may have said too much to you. He’s getting too comfortable and you’re all the willing to absorb every insecurity and every worry he has.
But something about quiet moments like these makes him loose-lipped, eyes fluttering to where you’ve got your notebook balanced in the seam of your thighs, scrawling something on the pages as you eat your own berries.
The words are leaving him before he can stop them.
“Easy for you to say,” he murmurs. “You’re perfect.”
The laugh that escapes you startles him and a few of the berries he was about to devour slips from his fingers and plunk down the leaves.
“I’m not perfect,” you assure him.
“Only someone who’s perfect would say that,” Lo’ak grumbles, peering over the edge of the branches to spot his fallen fruit. “The whole village loves you, everyone’s always so ready to bat for you.”
You look down at the pages of your journal with a sad smile.
“It’s a lot of pressure,” you admit quietly. “Everyone’s watching your every move, waiting for you to mess up.”
Lo’ak shifts uncomfortably.
You continue.
“And most of the villagers our age don’t like me,” you say, thumbing one of the pages. “They say I kiss ass, that I’m always trying to keep a leg up.”
Lo’ak winces, knowing that he’s the source of at least one of those sentiments.
“The elders think you’re honorable,” Lo’ak argues gently. “You’re talented, you have something to offer the people.”
“Honor means nothing if you’re bound by it,” you say finally, closing the cover to your journal. “If anything, I want to be more like you.”
“Like me?” Lo’ak asks incredulously, eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
You nod, smiling at him.
“Yeah,” you whisper. “I think you’re brave, fearless. And even if you care what people think, you do what you want.”
Lo’ak is quiet, taken aback by your confession.
Before he can respond, you’re gathering your things, bidding him a warm farewell as you begin climbing down the tree to disappear into the night.
Tumblr media
After that night, you think that maybe you’re just imagining things, that you’re reading too much into the fact that Lo’ak has begun to finally act like you exist, but then Kiri says something and the hope sends your heart soaring.
“Seems like he finally got his head out of his ass,” she says a few mornings later as you two stand near a shallow stream, eyes peeled for any fish you two could bring back to the village.
“Think so?” you ask nervously, arrow trapping the flailing fish to the pebbles of the stream’s bed.
Kiri shrugs.
“He actually pays you mind now,” Kiri observes. “That’s a step up for sure. I think you just need to spend more time with him.”
You smile, splashing through shallow waters to capture the fish and add it to the growing pile in the basket between you and the middle Sully.
“Yeah?” you wonder
So you test the theory, basket filled with various peeled fruits and a little container of nectar you squeezed from the petals of a flower.
It doesn’t take long to hunt him down. When you enter the training circle, he’s packing up his things, quiver strapped to his back and bow in his fist.
Before you make yourself known, he’s turning on his heel to face you, eyes wild as he swallows down the lump in his throat.
He’d be the last to admit that the last night you two spent together was branded in his brain, that his mouth had dried up so much so he felt his tongue could crack.
There were so many implications in your words and it horrified him, scared him so much that he knew he couldn’t let you that close again.
But now you stand before him, pretty as can be, hopeful even, and he’s at a war with himself, absolutely caught between resenting you for being everything he’s not and giving into the draw.
“Hi,” you greet, basket heavy in your hands.
You look more radiant than usual, skirt brushing the forest floor, the woven vine of your top banded to expose your midriff.
“Hey,” he replies hesitantly.
“Where you going?” you ask curiously.
His throat bobs as he gestures behind him.
“Hunting,” is all he says.
“Do you want to go for a walk?” you ask eagerly.
He doesn’t. He shouldn’t. Because things are shifting and he’s not sure if he’ll be able to stomach the change. If he’ll be able to admit to himself that you’re wearing him thin, that you make him feel things he’s never felt before and that it makes him feel like he has no control.
Because when it boils down to it, you make him lose control, make him lose his filter, and make him feel every emotion twice as hard.
“No,” he says.
And in that moment, you feel like you’re back at square one, watching as his eyes turn stony and his jaw sets firmly.
“You shouldn’t go hunting on your own,” you say softly. “Will someone be with you?”
“It’s fine,” he argues. “I’m fine.”
“I can go with you!” you offer. “I thought maybe we could sit by the stream and talk, but we can go hunting instead. We can–”
“No,” he says again, pinning you with eyes so lethal, it makes you wonder if you really had imagined the moments you shared with him, if you had imagined Kiri telling you that she saw it too.
You try again anyways.
“It’ll be good practice and–”
“I said no, ________,” he barks. “You’re dead weight and I want to be alone.”
Your lips seal and you bite the inside of your cheek.
Lo’ak could nearly scream in frustration when he notices the way your shoulders sag and it makes something in his heart cinch.
“Okay,” you agree, nodding quickly. “Be safe and–”
The words die on your tongue when you notice the look of annoyance on Lo’ak’s face.
Tumblr media
Lo’ak is in deep shit, you come to find out hours later.
You sit outside of the training circle, knowing that Lo’ak will return down the path after his hunting trip. What you don’t expect, however, is Jake and Neytiri emerging with the entire line of Sully kids and Spider.
Jake grips the back of Lo’ak’s neck tightly as they march past wandering eyes, straight to the family tent. You don’t miss his wounds though, varying in depth, some bleeding, some sore.
You’re hot on their heels, standing right outside of the entrance as Jake tears into the middle Sully.
“Time and time again, I have to get on your ass for doing the complete opposite of what I ask you to do!” Jake’s voice is thunderous inside the tent. “Do you not realize that you not only risked your life but your sisters’ too?”
There’s a beat of silence before Jake continues, obviously pacing from the way his volume fluctuates.
“And what were you thinking bringing Tuk? She’s nine, Lo’ak!” he shouts, the anger and the hurt evident in his tone.
“I’m sorry,” Lo’ak mumbles.
“Yeah, I bet you are!” Jake scolds. “I don’t ask for much. All I want is for you stay in line. Just stay out of trouble and work hard on your training. I paired you with ________ and Neteyam in hopes that maybe you’ll tighten up and be more like them, but you’re always disappointing me.”
You frown.
Whatever Lo’ak had done probably didn’t warrant such deep admonishment and something tugs especially hard at your heartstrings knowing that all he wants to do is make his dad proud.
“You’re surrounded by good influences, but you always have to go against the grain, Lo’ak,” Jake says, the edge in his tone softening. “I’m getting tired of the bullshit, son. You need to clean up your act. Hear me?”
“Yes sir,” Lo’ak says quietly, voice almost a whisper behind the hide of the tent.
“Now go get yourself cleaned up,” Jake huffs.
Your spine is straightening when you hear foot steps closing in, holding your breath as the flap to the tent billows open and Lo’ak is emerging.
His eyes flit to yours and his expression sours further.
“Lo’ak,” you murmur, reaching out to him.
He’s shrugging you away, wincing when a wound on his shoulder stretches especially taut.
“You’re hurt,” you say quietly. “I’ll–”
“Leave me alone,” he says, eerily level.
“But you’re–”
“I said leave me alone, ________,” he warns, pushing past you in what should be the pursuit of his grandmother’s quarters.
Instead he’s making a beeline for the jungle.
You’d seen the look in his eye before he stonewalled you, seen the hurt and heaviness that most people didn’t seem to notice because he was always so adventurous and carefree.
You follow after him.
“Lo’ak, you know he’s only worried for you,” you try to reason gently, fingers reaching for his own as you duck under massive leaves and fluttering insects.
He whirls to face you, swatting your hand away.
“Don’t fucking touch me,” he bites. “You don’t know anything.”
You swallow, holding your hand to your chest as you watch him lay down every brick to wall himself off.
He hates it. He hates how you look at him, how you seem to pity the life he has to live. It makes him sick, thinking that you two have it the same. He’d rather be hated for being great than hated for being a let down. It’s insulting, how you think you know how it feels.
“Let’s go back. I’ll wrap your wounds and–”
“Of course, clan’s golden girl is gonna patch me up and make it all better, huh?” he seethes facetiously. “Just fuck off!”
You flinch, blinking at the boy you holds so much rage in front of you.
“I know you’re hurting, but you don’t have to be mean,” you whisper, taking in a shuddering breath to will yourself not to cry.
“Mean? Mean?” Lo’ak bristles. “I’ve tried telling you to lay off nicely, tried telling you to just leave me alone, but you don’t listen. You just pry and overstep and you make every little thing about you! Oh, it’s so much pressure, villagers our age hate me, of course they would! You already have everything and just have to go rub salt in the wound!”
You shrink, eyes welling as your lip trembles.
“Lo’ak, stop,” you whimper.
“We’re not friends, ________.We never were and we never will because I don’t like you,” he spits. “Now please, for the love of god, will you just leave me alone!”
The forest is silent save for Lo’ak’s ragged breathing, fists clenched as he glares down at you.
“I-” Your breath hitches and you choke out an apology. “I’m sorry.”
Lo’ak’s heart softens a fraction as you take a step back, turning quickly on your heel.
“Fuck, I’m sorry,” you rasp, tripping over your own feet as you stumble into a run, putting as much space as you can between you and the middle child who stands in the middle of the forest, unable to wrangle every harsh word he’d said to force back down his throat.
Tumblr media
You dropped your journal.
Lo’ak is sure you’re looking for it, know that you’ve always got your nose stuck in it. You had dropped it running off and now he has its leather bound in his hands.
It’s been a couple of nights since the faithful evening he’d blown his top and he’d only seen whispers of you. It was so unlike you to disappear, to not be entertaining the masses as they fell to your feet.
He’d cooled off significantly, and when he replayed the conversation in his head, he winced, body folding in on itself as he realizes how harsh he’d been.
“Are you actually thinking thoughts?” Spider claps him on the shoulder, startling him so badly he drops the journal.
It lands spine down, the pages fluttering open.
He chances a peek before Spider is rounding his lithe figure to pick up the notebook. All he makes out is a rough sketch.
“You write?” Spider asks, intrigued.
“No, it’s ________’s,” Lo’ak answers.
“Oh, your little girlfriend’s?”
Lo’ak gives the human a cross look, snatching the book from his grasp as he stands up.
“Trouble in paradise?” Spider pries, scurrying to keep up with Lo’ak’s long strides.
A beat of silence before Lo’ak finally answers.
“Made her cry,” he mumbles, embarrassed.
Spider winces behind him.
“You serious?”
Lo’ak sighs.
“Yes, dude, fuck,” he breathes, hand coming to the back of his neck. “I don’t know what came over me. Dad was ripping me a new one and Neteyam already chewed me out before they got there and she was being annoying, so I just…”
“Bro,” Spider scoffs in disbelief, scratching the back of his head. “You’re a real dickhead sometimes.”
Lo’ak’s eyes wander as he shifts uncomfortably, feeling incredibly small as his friend glares up at him.
“I mean, I told her I wanted to be left alone!” Lo’ak tries to defend weakly. “I- I didn’t mean to.”
“She likes you a lot, dude,” Spider reiterates. “She just wants you to like her back.”
Despite the glaring signs, Lo’ak has trouble believing that your feelings for him far surpass charity work. They couldn’t, it was impossible. Because at the end of the day, you’re you and he’s…him.
He opens his mouth to say something, but Spider beats him to it.
“Did you at least apologize?”
Lo’ak squirms.
“Dude!”
“Look, I know, I know,” he tries to assuage the situation.
“________ is literally the sweetest girl in the entire clan you just–“
“I get it, bro, I get it!” Lo’ak huffs.
“Get your head out of your ass,” Spider says. “She might not stick around long enough for you to realize.”
“Realize what?” Lo’ak snaps.
“Are you really gonna play stupid right now?”
He blinks at the human.
“You like ________,” Spider says matter-of-factly. “You always have, ever since we were kids.”
“Oh, piss off,” Lo’ak grumbles.
“Dude, you’re literally my best friend, but I sometimes I wanna shove my foot so far up your–”
“I do not like ________,” Lo’ak says sharply.
“Everyone sees it but you, dipshit,” Spider scoffs. “You like her, but you’re scared. She’s perfect and she intimidates you. Think she’s gonna see you for what you really are and turn her back on you like everyone else does when you fuck up, but she’s not like that, Lo’ak. She’s been there whether you like it or not. But she might not always.”
Lo’ak swallows down the knot in his throat, fingers tightening around the notebook.
“Everything clicking?” Spider asks knowingly.
Lo’ak throws him a final narrowed glare before stalking off.
Tumblr media
It’s Lo’ak’s birthday and just like every orbit, he spends it alone in the forest.
At first, he’d been burdened with the weight of hurting your feelings, but now his conversation with Spider weighs heavy on him as he climbs dirt walkways and flowered paths.
It doesn’t help that your notebook weighs heavy in his satchel, a silent reminder that he still has a piece of you while you cling to his peace of mind.
I think you’re brave, fearless. They’re the words you uttered to him that fateful night you turned the reality of you two on its axis.
As he splices all the moments you two shared like a reel, he realizes that it’s endless. That you’re always there, you’d always been there, like a layer of impenetrable atmosphere surrounding him.
He really should apologize, he knows this much, but you’ve disappeared like a wisp of smoke. Training sessions have returned to a sibling affair and he’s too prideful to ask about you.
It’s almost eclipse when he begins making his way back for the evening meal, knowing that a scolding will await if he arrives even a minute late.
After what had happened with you, he was lying low, trying to diminish his blip from the radar.
As he closes in on the village’s main circle, he notes that it’s quiet. A little too quiet. It puts him on edge, makes him draw his bow and feel around for an arrow in his quiver.
A few more paces and he’s broken into the clearing, a few stragglers milling about. Another half a dozen steps and it’s like the forest melts into a celebration, whorls of blue pouring into the circle as villagers begin trilling.
Lo’ak is hoisted into the air as the dying fire in the center of the camp begins to slowly roar.
“Happy birthday, baby bro!” Neteyam caws loudly as they begin jostling him into the air, chanting and dancing as the dense crowd of clanspeople celebrate him.
It’s like time slows as he peers from side to side eagerly, seeing the way Spider, Kiri and Tuk dance happily among his people. Jake and Neytiri stand near the fire, smiles wide when they see the look of awe on their middle son’s face.
When he’s finally set on his feet, he wobbles, childlike as he turns, taking in the glowing streamers that crisscross between the tents. Flowers of green and blue thread through the vines, gleaming like lamplight as the forest buzzes around them.
“Wha– What is all this?” Lo’ak croaks in disbelief, eyes flitting wildly as he notices Norm and Max standing next to a table they’d hauled from the pod to the circle, piled high with meats and vegetables wrapped in leaves.
A platter of yovo fruits, his favorite, are at the center, surrounded by a painted sign with his name and the handprints of dozens of villagers on it.
“You survived another orbit!” Neteyam laughs heartily, head-locking the younger boy before roughly digging his knuckles into the top of his head.
A laugh bubbles from Lo’ak’s lips, swatting his brother away as villagers and clan members he’d grown up with approach him one by one to greet him.
As the night progresses, he doesn’t even realize he’s searching until your mother approaches and his spine goes rigid, cheeks warming under her piercing gaze.
“From my ________,” she says, setting a pouch into his palms. “She toiled over these for many eclipses. Please take care.”
Lo’ak’s nod is delayed as his satchel shifts on his shoulders, a dull reminder that your journal still remains with him, begging to be read.
“Where– Where is she?” he asks suddenly, feeling your absence all the more now that your gift sits in the palm of his hand.
“My daughter does not feel well,” your mother says simply. “She wished to be excused from the festivities.”
His chest feels hollow, stomach tight as his cheeks burn. You’d mentioned this to him, all those days ago in the training circle, about wanting to celebrate with him.
His eyes flit to the flowers looped through the vines, the mountain of yovo fruits, the gift in his hands. He doesn’t want to be presumptuous. Doesn’t want to fuel the tiniest ember of hope in chest, but he can’t help it.
He can’t help but read into it, into the implications of this celebration you’d planned all for him, into every word you uttered to him in the quiet of the forest’s chirping.
It’s all it takes for him to lock himself in his own head. The feast melts into the background, dull, as his eyes cut the crowd for you.
You have to be here, gotta be hanging around the outskirts silently. The idea taunts him, makes his gut twist hard as images of you dancing in the circle, singing to him, celebrating him, loving him—
Lo’ak freezes, blinking incredulously at the thought that’d just crossed his brain. It makes him queasy, makes the regret and the guilt gnaw at every nerve ending as your crying face flashes like an unwanted slideshow in his brain.
It’s all he can think about as the festivities die, as villagers begin turning in the for the night and he helps his family clean up the aftermath of another orbit finally finished.
Spider helps Tuk and Neteyam near the fire, and as Lo’ak moves through the motions like he’s caught in a tide, Kiri watches, knowing all too well what consumes her brother’s mind.
It isn’t until Lo’ak is shrouded by the stillness of the early morning, his family tucked in their tent, bodies and limbs splayed as they sleep together, that he sits in a swinging hammock, your journal and the pouch in his lap.
It feels wrong, the way he thumbs the cover, working up the courage to turn it open. But Ewya, fate, would have never left it in his wake if it wasn’t meant to be read.
As his finger ghosts the etchings of the front cover, worn and loved by you, something tickles his leg as he admires the leather. He blinks in disbelief when he sees a singular woodsprite resting against his thigh.
Before he loses his nerve, he’s opening the pages with bated breath.
Recipes, nature notes, short thoughts fill the sheets and Lo’ak feels like he’s reading into your brain, seeing all the little things no one bothers to know.
he is like the sun,
shines so bright,
but burns the closer you get.
Lo’ak’s pointer finger glosses over the ink, over your curly handwriting.
he is so incredible, but he doesn’t even know it. i want to shout it to every creature in the forest, every tree and every flower. oh, how i wish to be as fearless as him.
His chest heaves as the words blur.
Fearless.
Fearless.
Fearless.
In this moment, he feels everything but. He feels like a coward.
He continues to flip, throat lodged as he sees drawings, both rough sketches and full renderings. He hadn’t even known that you liked to draw, yet here he was, observing his home through your artistic eye.
Flowers, leaves, trees, creatures, insects, fruits mar the stained papers, etched like it’d been caught in real time.
likes green and blue.
likes yovo fruits.
The entry from the day you’d first walked with him through the forest.
When he turns the page, his breath hitches.
In full color, you’d captured his bullseye from your first training session. His back taut from the release, expression shaded stoic. He looked mighty, like the strongest warrior, and it was all through your eyes.
Lo’ak doesn’t even realize he’s crying until the bullseye in the illustration bleeds from a fallen tear. Another one drips from his chin, then another.
The next page is the night you two had poured your hearts out to each other. Again, in full color, he’s watching the stars. You don’t leave out the glow of the freckles that smatter his face and body, don’t miss the smile that plays at his lips as he quietly points out that his dad had come from a star.
He flips again and different iterations and designs for what seems like jewelry litters the pages, shaded with different colors of blue and green, marked with varying notes, x’s marking through ideas you didn’t like.
Lo’ak remembers the pouch, sitting untouched in his lap, and his shaky fingers undo the ties. He shakes the contents on the flat of the notebook and the most intricate beadwork fits into the crease.
His eyes widen as he picks up the necklace in a trembling hand, the eclipsing sun catching the etching in the flat stones.
Four five-fingered hands and four four-fingered ones, each separated by jewels scavenged and cleaned from the bed of the glowing river.
A small scroll flutters from the pouch and Lo’ak chokes back as sob as he unrolls the hide.
Happy Birthday, Lo’ak. I am always grateful to know someone like you. May your next orbit be filled with endless blessings from Ewya and may you see yourself how I see you.
You see him, he realizes. You’re his supporter, a silent force that consumes every insecurity and swallows every doubt. You believe in him more than he believes in himself.
He stands from the hammock and runs.
Tumblr media
You’re sitting in the same tree the two of you had rested in the night you’d confided in Lo’ak, watching as the sun eclipses and begins to light up the sparkling forest.
Something rustles and you sit up, hand on the hilt of your dagger as you search the area for movement.
As your eyes lock on the source, you almost wish it had been a beast coming to devour you whole. But as Lo’ak climbs the branches of the tree quickly, you feel the dread begin to solidify in your veins.
You take your satchel, hanging from a nearby branch and sling it over your shoulder, pulling your shawl over your head to prepare for your escape.
“________, wait,” he chokes breathlessly. “Please.”
You feel like crying all over again, feel so unbelievably stupid thinking that Lo’ak would ever see you the way that you see him.
You pause a beat as he settles on the branch across from yours, chest heaving as he tries to catch his breath.
Something glints in the sun and your eyes widen when you see that Lo’ak has fastened the necklace you made him around his neck, right above the the leather chain that holds his beloved claw charm.
“You’re wearing it,” you whisper, lips twitching into a frown as you try your best to keep your tears at bay.
“I’m sorry, ________,” Lo’ak apologizes hoarsely. “Fuck, you don’t understand how sorry I am.”
The tears well on their own.
We’re not friends. We never were and we never will.
The words haunt you like a broken record and you shake your head, moving from your perch to move down the branches.
“Wait, wait,” Lo’ak pleads. “Please don’t go, I–”
“I hate you,” you whisper. “I hate you, Lo’ak.”
He freezes, watching as you balance on a branch below.
“I tried so hard to be your friend,” you whimper, angrily wiping away your tears. “You’re amazing. You’re strong, and you’re fearless, and you are everything I want to be, but you’re heartless.”
Lo’ak lets out a shuddering breath, a chill running down his spine as you look up at him like he’d smashed every star in the sky.
“I wanted to be with you, you know?” you let out a watery laugh. “I hoped that maybe if I stuck it out, you’d see how much I cared, how badly I wanted to be with you, even if it was from a distance.”
“I do, _________, I do!” he argues.
He hadn’t always, but he sees it now. He sees you.
You shake your head again.
“You don’t,” you sigh, voice trembling. “It’s my fault anyways. You were right. You told me to leave you alone and I was being too much.”
“Stop–”
“Let this be the last time,” you assure him. “Let’s just– Let’s pretend we never met.”
“No, _________. Wait!”
You’re climbing down the tree and disappearing into the brush and, like a fleck of ash, you’re disintegrating into nothingness.
Tumblr media
Most people think he’s being moody, that he’s just been scolded by his father or older brother, but Neytiri knows better.
She sees the way her son has changed over the course of the past few weeks. She knows there is a great burden that he carries, but much like her beloved and her eldest, he suffers in silence.
“Maitan,” she says quietly, brushing a braid from his face as he folds the leaves around a chunk of steaming meat.
Lo’ak pauses almost imperceptibly, but continues his task.
It isn’t like him to stay home and work with Neytiri. If anything, he’d be the first one out of the tent, Tuk, Spider, and Kiri tailing after him as they galavant through the endless forest.
“Something weighs heavy in your heart,” she tries again, hand coming over his.
Lo’ak stops and leans back, unable to meet his mother’s searching gaze.
“I hurt someone,” he says quietly.
Neytiri stiffens.
“What?”
“I hurt someone I care about,” Lo’ak admits. You’d called him fearless, strong. He needed to live by your word. “I hurt her and I don’t know how to fix it.”
“Oh, Lo’ak,” she murmurs, squeezing his hand gently.
Her face has softened as she takes in his stony expression.
“My son, some things cannot be fixed,” she says honestly. “But all things require great effort. Sometimes those efforts will fall through, but that is the natural order of life.”
Lo’ak swallows.
“Whoever this special person is, if you have hurt her, she deserves the full effort of your heart, no?”
You do, he knows you do. You deserve every last effort. But a niggling streak of insecurity tells him that you don’t deserve someone like him. You don’t deserve someone who takes your affections for granted. You deserve someone who will love you with every breath, who will love you fearlessly.
“I really messed things up, Mom,” Lo’ak says quietly. “I don’t…”
Neytiri’s hand comes to Lo’ak chest.
“The night I first met your father, Ewya gave me sign,” she says. “He has a pure, strong heart. You do too.”
Lo’ak swallows.
“Be brave, Maitan,” she says. “Sometimes that is enough.”
Tumblr media
Lo’ak’s fingers hurt from picking berries.
His cuticles bleed, pricked by the thorns of the fruit’s bush. Kiri hums beside him, weaving a little bag out of ropes of thin vines.
“You’re not gonna help me?” he whines.
“Why should I help you with your mess?”
Tumblr media
You look beautiful under the glow of the evening meal’s crackling fire. It’s the first time you’ve emerged since before Lo’ak’s birthday feast and you’re being flocked by elders and villagers, wishing you well and asking about your supposed ailment.
He sits across the fire, fists tight as he searches for a lull in the crowd.
Spider snickers next to him, devouring the contents of his plate like he’s starved, watching Lo’ak’s useless pining like a show.
Be brave.
He’s standing to his feet before he can back out, crossing the circle to approach you. The villagers watch like they know something he doesn’t and the nerves are eating away at him as he steps into your space.
You look up from your conversation with a girl your age, the smile slipping from your lips.
“Can we talk?” Lo’ak asks, eyes wandering to watch the way everyone watches him.
You remain jaded.
“Now’s not a good time,” you say quietly and a few onlookers snicker in the background. “________,” Lo’ak tries again.
You stare up at him, the shadow of the fire dancing over your features as you seemingly look right through him. It’s humiliating, the way you remain seated and watch him fidget, but he figures he deserves the cold shoulder after months, years of casting you to the side.
“Let’s go?” you ask the girl, nodding your head over your shoulder.
The girl chances a glance between you and Lo’ak, noticing the telltale sign of your work etched into the stones of the choker he hadn’t taken off since his birthday.
She gives him a sympathetic smile as she follows after you.
Tumblr media
He’s going to have to try a lot harder than he has, he realizes as your birthday looms right around the corner. The next eclipse, in fact.
He’s losing hope, losing courage, but he can’t give up on you two just yet.
He makes sure the berries he picked the days prior are packed tightly in his bag, the lid to the nectar fastened, and his present wrapped nicely.
It’s his last hope, his last shot to make things right.
Spider, Tuk, and Neytiri surround him, Neteyam and Jake off on a hunt.
They’d all been privy to the fact, aiding him in his endeavors as he organized his final grapple with your heart.
“Kiri said she’ll bring her right before eclipse,” Spider says, peeking from the flap of the tent. “That’s in, like, minutes.”
Lo’ak is nervous. Doesn’t know what he’ll do if he loses you for good, but he knows he has to give it his best effort. It’s the least you deserve.
Be brave. Sometimes that is enough.
Lo’ak glances at his mom and she gives him a warm smile, ruffling his braids.
“You are the son of Toruk Makto,” she assures him, pinching his cheek. “There is nothing you cannot do.”
The words are carved into his brain as he rushes through the forest, the the stream that the curls and bends through the forest. It glows beautifully at night and that is his final push.
“Wait, give me like three seconds, I left something.” Kiri’s voice is muffled behind the trees.
“Huh?” Lo’ak sees the way your head tilts through an opening in the foliage.
“I’ll only be a second!”
“Wait, Kiri!”
Kiri is running straight for him, comes barreling through the bushes, and continues down the path.
“Good luck, egghead!”
Lo’ak takes in a final breath to quell the tremor in his hands before ducking through the bushes to reveal himself.
You’re sitting on the embankment, on a woven mat that Kiri had laid out for you two, decorative vines edging the seams.
“Oh, you were–”
You peer over your shoulder and your expression falls.
“Lo’ak…”
“Happy birthday, ________,” he breathes.
You don’t look amused, slinging your bag over you shoulder as you rise to your feet.
“Kiri and I are hanging out,” you tell him.
He scratches the back of his head.
“I…I had Kiri bring you here because I knew that you wouldn’t come with me if I asked,” he admits. “And of course, I don’t blame you, but I– I just really need to talk to you.”
You bite the inside of your cheek, unable to look him in his eyes as he draws nearer.
“Just give me some time, please,” he pleads.
You finally meet his gaze, searching his eyes as he looks down at you earnestly.
You give him the tiniest nod, reluctantly shedding your satchel to reassume your seat on the mat.
The waters rush gently, like a song as Lo’ak lowers himself next to you.
His palms are clammy as he fidgets in his seat, the scent of herbs and flowers wafting from your dewy skin. He can’t bring himself to look at you, afraid that every sentiment he’d crafted in the hours of the night will escape him, so he watches the bubbling of the stream.
“Well?” you whisper, like you don’t want to shatter the fragile sheath of peace that layers you.
“I’m sorry,” he says quietly. “I know I’ve said it already, but I really am, ________.”
“I know,” you murmur and his gaze flits to yours. “Even if you don’t act like it, you have a good heart, Lo’ak. You feel everything, even the things you don’t want to.”
He swallows.
“I didn’t mean it,” he says carefully. “I was mad and I took it out on you. That wasn’t fair.”
You sit silently, knees hugged to your chest. Your cheek rests against your knee, watching Lo’ak with seeing eyes. It makes him trip over his words.
“My whole life, I’ve always been compared to Neteyam,” he says. “The entire village would whisper about me and how I was nothing like the mighty warrior.”
When he glances at you, he notices your fingers twitch, like you want to reach out to him.
He squashes his fears and turns to face you, five-fingered hand coming up to thread with your four. You watch the union, uncertainty obvious in the way you tense, but Lo’ak squeezes.
“And then when we started growing up, you were just another person I had to live up to,” Lo’ak whispers. “You’re perfect, ________. You’re kind, and you’re smart, talented. You’re everything I’m not and it made me hate you.”
You shrink, but Lo’ak pulls you towards him, hand coming up to brush your cheek.
“But you’re all of that and more,” he continues, the words gushing like a river. “You’re always there, you support me and you defend me and see things I don’t.”
You become shy under his gaze because for the first time, he’s seeing you. He’s seeing you for every single thing you’ve been to him and it makes your stomach knot.
“I have something to tell you,” he says. “Please don’t be mad at me.”
Your gaze is soft, palm still in his as he turns and reaches into the bag he discarded next to him. Your eyes widen when he produces your notebook, edges curled the slightest as he hands it to you.
“My journal,” you say, taking it from him quickly. “I’ve been looking for this. Why- Why do you have it?”
He looks guilty, lips rolling as he avoids your gaze.
“Did you…”
“I wasn’t going to,” he admits. “But there were woodsprites and I knew it was a s–”
“Lo’ak this is private,” you murmur incredulously. “Why would you read this?”
“How long, ________?” he asks quietly, grip on your hand tightening.
“Lo’ak, don’t–”
“How long?” he presses desperately.
Your eyes are watering, like that wicked night all over again and Lo’ak begs Eywa for the final push.
“Since we were ten,” you whisper brokenly. “It was my first performance and it was so stupid, but I was throwing up because I was nervous and you talked me through it.”
Lo’ak is stunned, the memory like the faintest of outlines.
“We didn’t even know each other that well,” you hiccup. “But you patted me on the back and you gave me this–”
You pull your fingers from his grasp and flip the journal to the last page, revealing a hidden pocket. Your nimble fingers pull a tattered string, the remnants of a vine, threaded with wilted flower petals, preserved from being pressed inside your notebook.
“You said that they made you make it during lessons,” you say, breath hitching. “That it’d be my good luck.”
He’d forgotten all about the memory completely, too caught up in driving whatever wedge he could between you two, building up walls to seal you out.
“And you kept it this whole time?” he asks, face scrunched in disbelief.
“I’d hold on to anything you give me,” you admit in defeat. “Heartbreak included.”
He lets out a shaky breath.
“________, I’m so sorry,” he repeats, hand coming up to your neck. “You have to know that. I’m really fucking stupid, but if you give us a shot, I won’t mess it up.”
Your hand comes up to his wrist, crumpling as you bow your head.
“Don’t do this to me,” you beg, moving to break away from him.
“Please.”
His hold tightens, other hand twining with yours.
“If I…if I give myself to you, I’m giving you everything,” you say hesitantly. “If you break this, you break me. I don’t think I can come back from this.”
Lo’ak presses his forehead to yours, breath warm against your lips as he searches your gaze for any semblance of hope.
“This is me being fearless, ________,” he whispers.
You melt, pressing your lips to his tentatively. He’s frozen for the shortest of moments before relenting, pushing up onto his knees to deepen the kiss.
He’s cradling your face and your hands are wandering and Lo’ak can’t help but think he could get used to loving you.
To being loved by you.
Tumblr media
BONUS
“I was gonna give it to you on your birthday,” Lo’ak says sheepishly a few nights later under the stars. “But, you know…”
Your usual place among the branches of the looming trees have a lot of memories both bitter and sweet, but you suppose you could make new ones.
“You don’t have to give me anything,” you say sweetly, tail swishing to wrap around his ankle. “You’re all I need.”
Lo’ak doesn’t think he’ll ever get used to your saccharine words if the pounding in his chest is anything to go by.
His hands are shaky as he pushes the hide towards you, a bow made of vine tied neatly around the gift.
“Wanted to,” he says simply, moving the hair from you face to see your reaction better. “Open it.”
You’re gentle with the present, like you are with most things, but eager to see what he’d gotten you.
A tiny gasp falls from your lips when you finally see it, wide eyes meeting his as you free the jars of paints he’d mashed up, the brushes he fashioned, and the brand new journal he bound himself.
“Lo’ak, wow…”
“So you can paint me more,” he says, then adds timidly. “Or maybe us. Maybe you could paint us.”

For valentines, what happens if reader gets a secret confession but it’s not from the jjk man who was going to confess? Would they be jealous? Confess anyway? Not confess?
JJK Men: Secret Admirer
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
• — You receive a Valentine's Day gift from an anonymous person but they have deeper feelings for you.
๑ Featuring: Satoru Gojo, Suguru Geto, Kento Nanami, Choso Kamo, Toji Fushiguro and Ryomen Sukuna.
๑ Content: Fem!Reader, SFW, relationship not established, fluff
๑ a/n: First, thank you very much to everyone who sent an ask with suggestions, I really was super happy reading each one of them and I intend to write them soon. Second, I should have posted this sooner but I ended up getting too busy (*crying*) anyway, I hope you like it. It was a little long but that's a detail.
Tumblr media
⸺ㅤGOJO
Gojo was extremely happy and confident when he saw you approaching him with a heart-shaped box of chocolates. He never imagined that you also had the idea of waiting to confess on Valentine's Day, let alone that you would reciprocate his feelings. However, the wide smile gradually faded as you told him about the box of chocolates and the anonymous note that were mysteriously left on his desk. He could barely conceal his obvious disappointment, but he would maintain his usual laid-back attitude. Gojo became curious to learn more about the sudden confession, likely from one of his coworkers, and even tried to joke about it, hiding any jealousy behind his charm and confidence. But believe me, he'll spend quite a few days looking suspiciously at all his fellow sorcerer colleagues (just like that scene of him on the plane). He might even encourage you to follow your feelings, but always saying that you're capable of achieving something much better, like him, for example.
⸺ㅤGETO
Geto would be more reserved in expressing his feelings about this, but deep down, he would feel a twinge of jealousy and disappointment. Geto couldn't help but feel uneasy when he saw you with a bouquet of flowers in your hand while enjoying their fresh scent, and the card in your hand did not go unnoticed by him. He would try to maintain a calm facade, but could subtly show signs of discomfort. When you mentioned that you didn't know who had given them to you because it was signed anonymously, Geto couldn't help but let out a low scoff. Nevertheless, he was determined to invite you to dinner at the best restaurant in the area, and if you accepted, you can be sure that he would pick you up at your house with an even larger and more beautiful bouquet than the one you received from your secret admirer.
⸺ㅤNANAMI
Nanami would maintain a calm posture, seeming almost disinterested, but inside, he would feel a twinge of sadness and jealousy. When Nanami found her in the corridors of Jujutsu High, he almost couldn't hide his surprise when he saw you wearing the same necklace he was thinking of buying for you as a gift when he decided it was the right time to bring his own feelings to light. Nanami was courteous, complimenting how well the necklace suited you, which he always imagined when he saw the jewel in the jewelry store's window. Nanami was even more surprised when he heard her recount that the jewel, along with a Valentine's Day card and a beautiful bouquet of flowers, had been left at the entrance of her apartment by some delivery person. You also mentioned being was afraid of the gifts precisely because they were anonymous and the anonymous person knew your address, but the jewel was so beautiful and looked so good on you that it was impossible not to wear it. Nanami was quick to warn you about how dangerous this situation could be, trying not to let his imprudent jealousy show and trying not to be affected by the adorable pout you made while quietly repeating how beautiful the necklace was. After that incident, he probably wouldn't confess his own feelings immediately, but you can expect to be presented with the same piece of jewelry the next day by Nanami while he tries to maintain a stoic demeanor and disguise it as much as possible, saying that he noticed how much you liked the piece. I can say that he felt the once dormant butterflies in his stomach stir when you asked him for help putting the necklace around your neck.
⸺ㅤCHOSO
Choso would be sincere about his feelings and would express his sadness directly, but lovingly. Choso didn't even know about the particular celebratory date, and discovering it when asking about the cute puppy plush and heart-shaped card you were carrying might have been somewhat disheartening for him. Choso is emotionally open and loyal, so even though it left him vulnerable, he didn't hesitate to confess his own feelings after your brief explanation about Valentine's Day and your gift from a possible secret admirer. "I would have bought gifts and cards for you myself if you had told me about Valentine's Day earlier...", those puppy eyes looking at you so truthfully that words couldn't even escape his lips. "If I had confessed first, maybe they wouldn't have gifted it to you before me". You could easily hear the guilt and regret in his voice. However, your comforting words soon dispel all of Choso's sadness. And later, when you find the plush you received from the anonymous sender with its head torn off, Choso will be hiding a smug little smile as he remembers what he did.
⸺ㅤTOJI
Toji would likely react with a mixture of indifference and jealousy disguised as a joke. When Toji saw you with the chocolates and the red card in your hands, he didn't care much because he didn't even remember it was Valentine's Day. All he did was steal some chocolates from the box when you weren't around, and only after eating at least half of the box did he read the note next to it. Toji would try not to show too much emotion, so when you returned, he had to disguise his jealousy. "A secret admirer, huh? When your little boyfriend decides to reveal himself, tell him not to buy cheap crap for you. Even I wouldn't be able to buy such a lousy chocolate to give to someone as a gift." He wouldn't confess directly, but later that day, he gave you another box of chocolates that were even better than the ones you received from the anonymous sender. However, when you opened the box, half of those chocolates were missing too.
⸺ㅤSUKUNA
Sukuna would act with arrogance and disdain, trying to belittle the other's confession and show that he doesn't care. You were rereading the Valentine's Day card you received, with a beautifully handwritten poem for you, and what intrigued you the most was that it was signed anonymously. Although you quite enjoyed having a secret admirer, feeling like a protagonist from one of the books you often read. When Sukuna finds you, your silly smile doesn't go unnoticed by him. He approaches you curiously and, despite your protests, snatches the delicate card from your hands. As he reads the poem dedicated to you, Sukuna feels a painful twinge of jealousy and even a dark desire to uncover the author of the confession. Without much thought, Sukuna easily tears the card apart, tossing the crumpled pieces onto the ground as he ignores your protests. "What's your problem? Why did you do that?" You angrily question as you bend down to gather the remnants of your poem. Sukuna would feel another pang of jealousy; "I'll rip the hands off the worm who wrote this garbage so they can never write crap again", he would think.

KINKTOBER DAY TWO, SUBDROP
Tumblr media
Dom!Steve x Sub!reader
Her beauty, her sadness. A sweet angel girl who puts her boyfriend first, and let’s her little head get all fuddled. It’s a good thing Steve knows you like the back of his hand.
Warnings: p in v smut! not very vivid descriptions. Subdrop, daddy kink. Reader is just tired and lets herself get into a scene when she should j rest. Soft!Dom!Steve. use of 'dada' in subspace.
18+! enjoy!
Main Masterlist ! Kinktober 2023
It’s normal for you to cry during sex. During anything, really. Steve’s used to your glimmering eyes and trembling pout, the little whimpers that leave your lips. He’s always called you his little crybaby, used to wiping the tears away from under your eyes and kissing your tear-stained cheeks better. Sweet little you, so innocent and purehearted, even the littlest of things set you off. That one time you saw Dustin stand on a spider, when Darth Vader died (‘He’s literally the bad guy, baby.’ “so!’), when your food was too hot and burnt your tongue. Some people would have surely found your sensitive soul irritating, but it was one of the things Steve loved most about you. That, and his chest swelled at the thought of being your saviour from the tears.
But these tears, these were different.
It had started the same, a little wail when his finger circled your puffy little clit, a trickle of saltine tears falling down your cheeks. He’d cooed and mocked your sweet little pout, just as he normally would. But the tears got worse when he flipped you onto your front and pushed inside of you. You’d given a sob as he pushed his cock inside of your dripping hole. Again, it wasn't unlike you to cry and whimper at the burn of the stretch. That’s why Steve hadn't thought much of your little sobs at first.
They just kept on coming. With every thrust, every time the front of his thighs slapped against the back of yours, you let out a pitiful cry. Your head stays flat against the ruffled mattress, tears collecting a puddle beneath you. Normally, in a position like this, you try your hardest to sit up against him, to be closer to him, to kiss his lips. Yet, you're as still as anything, hands bunched up besides you.
Steve allows his thrusts into you to slow, pushes the thoughts of his own pleasure aside to run a hand soothingly down your arched back.
“Where are you baby, huh? You with daddy?” He asks patiently, thumb running slowly across your warm skin. He’s too good for you, and your mushed up mind can’t handle it
you shake your head with a sob, one that wracks your chest and breaks his heart. “‘m gone, daddy.” And then the river flows, sobs wracking your little form as Steve eases himself out of you. He gives a gentle hush as he pulls you up by your underarms. You instantly cower into him, naked and shaking.
“Hey, shh. You're okay, sweet girl. You're so good, you know that?” He tucks your head underneath his chin. Massive hands run up and down your arms soothingly. “My best girl, using your words. So proud of you, baby”
“Dada.” It’s how he knows you're so gone, so lost in confusing thoughts and just being so much smaller than him that you cant even get the right words out – you only ever call him this when youre so far deep in subdrop.
“Daddy’s got you, daddy’s here, baby.”
“‘M sorry.” His heart aches, because you think that he’s mad at you. You think that he’s angry that your tears got in the way of sex.  He’s not, never would be. “‘M so sorry, dada.”
“Nothing to be sorry about, angel.” He kisses at your hairline. “‘M so glad you told me. Such a good girl. My good little girl. What’s got you all in your head, huh?”
You whine, pushing your face further into his naked chest.
“You’re okay. You can talk to daddy, brave girl. It’s only words.” It’s then that you realise that he’s rocking you both gently, helping you in your heady, little-like headspace. He’s warm, hes so warm, just like he always is. It grounds you, makes you want to dive into his skin where its safe, where you know he’ll watch over you and care for you forever.
The words come out muffled when you finally speak them, pushed against him and mumbled. “So tired, dada. J-Just wanted to be good for you, wanna be a good girl. Wanted you to,” A choked sob leaves your lips, “f-feel good!.”
Steve huffs through his nose, arms wrapping harder around you and he pulls you close, holds you to him like a vice. His precious angel, putting him and his pleasure first even when it gets you like this. He hates that you let yourself get to this point without telling him, hates that he didn't notice beforehand.
“I’m so sorry, sweet girl. Daddy’s sorry that he didn’t notice how tired you are. Bet you feel all foggy and confused, yeah?” You nod vehemently, sniffling slightly. It feels better to have the words out, to have Steve know. “Thank you for telling me, sweetheart. My beautiful girl. Too good to me.” You shuffle slightly, lifting your head to look at him. “There’s my girl.”
God, he’s beautiful. Handsome enough to have you forgetting all about your sticky tears and shaking limbs. His hair’s a mess and his cheeks are flushed. Steve’s golden brown eyes are focused on you, on only you, and they penetrate into the depths of your heart. You know he cares, know that he ;oves you, know that he would put you before anything else.
You’re the luckiest girl alive.
“Can daddy give you a little kiss, baby? Just a little kiss ‘n we’ll go get you cleaned up.”
The nod you give is small, but the twitch upwards in your lip gives his heart the pulse back to life that he needs. Gives him hope that all this will blow over, and his sweet little crybaby will be back soon.

The Girl at the Cafe
Fushiguro Megumi x F!Reader
(megumi is such a babygirl and i love the violin scene so here it is)
Word Count: almost 1k
Content Warnings: none, just fluff
masterlist
Tumblr media
Megumi has been seeing this girl daily now, sitting in the corner with a tea in her hands, looking out the window. Megumi sees you daily, and you see him too, but he has never had the courage to ask your name. He thinks you look beautiful, and now he has been looking forward to seeing you in your spot rather than his black coffee.
Today is no different, he enters the cafe and sits down in his unassigned-assigned place and turns to catch a glimpse of you. But today, you aren't there. He checks the time on his phone, he is there at the usual time. Maybe you were running late, a hopeful part of him thinks. Maybe you have already left, the pessimist in him thinks.
He orders his usual coffee and a pastry to pass the time, but it's been over half an hour and there is still no sign of you. After an hour, he leaves the coffee not tasting the same without having you to steal glances at.
Right as he steps out, he spots Yuji and turns away, not wanting him to see his usually antsy face upset over nothing.
He is glad he does, because he bumps into you - well you run into him - but he is delighted to see you though his face still has the signature frown.
“Oh, I'm sorry,” you say, and Megumi is mesmerised by your voice, already feeling it seeping into his dreams.
“It's alright,” He says, hands involuntarily reaching out to steady you.
“Isn't it later than your usual time?” You ask. He can see the curiosity in your eyes and he is delighted that you recognize him - else he'd be making a complete fool of himself.
“Yeah, school,” He says with a sad sigh. “You're late too, what a coincidence.” Megumi opens the door for you, letting you pass before entering again.
“Fushiguro, Megumi,” He says when you give him your name. He tries saying it out once, loving the way it rolls off his tongue.
Megumi takes another pastry and his black coffee, not worrying about the sleep it is going to steal from him. It's not like he could sleep tonight either. The barista gives a knowing smile but she doesn't say anything.
Conversation flows easily between you two, and you are quickly done with your beverages and pastries. Like a true gentleman, he opens the door again as you exit a shy smile on your face.
He's asking how you are going to go just as two pairs of arms are swung around him, embarrassment filling his whole body.
“Fushiguro-kyun!” Yuji and Nobora smother him with embarrassing questions about things that never happened, about the nights they shared together about the nice things he has said to them. He wishes the earth would split open and swallow him, he's sure he's red in the face and cannot bear to look you in the eyes. What kind of man would you take him for, after these idiots? He's fuming and ready to lash out at his friends only to be beaten to it again. By Gojo Sensei, of all people.
“Could you not touch him so casually, please?” Gojo says in a soft voice, before yelling, “You homewreckers!”
“Ah, well,” Megumi accepts his fate, ready to never show up in this cafe again, ready to disappear out of your sight and never seek anyone else out.
Gojo is standing elegantly, his blindfold gone and sunglasses in their place - his glowing blue eye teasing from under a lens. “Megumi-chan has violin practice with me now.” He says with all the dramatic flair he is known for. “Let’s go home, Megumi-chan. Today I will have you master Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.”
He is ready to split the sky and fly away, but then you start giggling at their theatrics. He thinks it is the prettiest sight he has ever seen, seeing you giggle like that, he wants to make that sound come from you all the time. It's a strange feeling, for he has never had the urge to make people laugh.
“You've got wonderful friends, Fushiguro.” You say, sounding out of breath. Your eyes twinkle with laughter and he knows he will never forget it.
An embarrassed smile makes its way to his face, and Yuji, Nobora and Gojo all step back, staring at him in horror.
“Megumi?” They whisper under their breath, eyes dancing between the two of you.
“Same time, tomorrow?” You ask, holding your hand out. Megumi is a little confused, but Gojo says, “Phone number, Megumi-chan,”
“Oh, right!” Megumi takes your phone and dials his number, a shy smile on his face. “Same place?”
“Do you have any better suggestions?” You ask, eyes sparkling. He cannot bring himself to look away, wanting to drink in each second he has with you.
Megumi watches you walk away, he thinks you have an amazing walk - taking the runway straight to his heart. He's so blissed he's even forgotten his embarrassing friends, who had been suspiciously quiet all this time. The satisfied smile on his face quickly turns to a scowl as he turns, Yuji, Nobora and Gojo all with wide grins on their faces. And suddenly he can feel all his fury returning.
“What the hell was all of that?” He demands, not quite loud, but still sounding outraged. And he's surprisingly vocal about it too. “Gojo-Sensei, violin?  Really? Do you even play violin?”
“Fushiguro's got a girlfriend!” Yuji ignores all of that, right back to his bubbly self. Megumi hates Yuji so much at the moment, and his resting face reflects that, but he also thinks, if you two were to date - you’d better get used to his friends' antics.

You can’t deny that the sight of your boyfriend stumbling upstairs, lips locked with some young, college chick, fumbling to unhook her bra, makes your heart drop below your stomach.
You knew, even from the outset of your relationship, that Bryce wasn’t going to be the guy you walked down an aisle and pledged ‘I do’ to, but he had, at least initially, been attentive and put in the effort to make you feel beautiful. Your chest aches at the thought that it only took a couple drinks and a pretty girl seductively sucking on a straw, for him to break the four month long commitment you made to each other.
That he didn’t have the decency to break up with you before not so subtly sliping away from a party he himself dragged you to, to fuck some stranger a mere wall away from where he left you minutes earlier with the promise to fix you both a drink.
With your head held high, despite the slight sting behind your eyes and a lump forming in your throat, you stand and stalk out of the house, tuning out the disparaging whispers of his friends as you leave.
Fuck him for not being able to recognise your worth, and fuck settling for his unsatisfying, vanilla, one minute performances he was no doubt be subjecting that luckless college girl to right now.
If he’s going to fuck whoever he wanted, you’re going do the same. And you’ll start with the person Bryce was the most insecure about during your relationship - his roommate.
* * *
Ari enters his shared apartment and notices the sound of the shower running, which is odd considering he distinctly remembered his roommate telling him he’d have the place to himself this Saturday night.
Knowing Bryce could in fact be dumb enough to forget to turn the water off before heading out, Ari begrudgingly goes to do it for him, only to realise that it isn’t Bryce’s shower that’s running.
Surely he couldn’t have been stupid enough to do it himself? Cursing the insanely high water bill they were sure to get this month, Ari rushes to turn the shower off in his own private bathroom.
Once he storms in and his brain has time to realise what he’s actually witnessing, he’s already harder than a rock.
“Hey Ari.” You say so casually, almost devilishly, even though you’re completely naked and masturbating in his bathroom. You’ve left the door to the small shower open, giving Ari a perfect view of you riding a dildo stuck to the floor, steamy water flowing down your back and dripping onto the tiled floor from your ass. And by the faint buzzing sound reverberating off the tiled walls, he’s also fairly certain you’re using a vibrator. The thought makes him even more painfully hard.
“Ugh Sunshine, you do know this is my shower, don’t you?” Your heart flutters at his nickname for you. You suspect he only playfully called you that because of how it upset Bryce each time the moniker left his lips, but it still manages to slip out when it’s just the two of you and he’s found you in this downright pornographic scene.
“Yeah, I know. It's just… I saw Bryce cheating on me tonight and I thought fuck it, I always thought you were really hot.” Ari takes a prudent step closer to the shower, swearing under his breath as he watches the thick dildo disappearing into your pussy with each twerk of your hips. “I wanted to see if you could fuck me better than he can.”
“You think there’s even a contest?” Ari asks rhetorically as he adjusts himself in his shorts, desperate for any type of friction to ease his painful throbbing need. “I’ve heard how unsatisfied he’s left you through these very walls.”
“Guess you’ll just have to prove it to me then.” This time Ari wastes no time in accepting your challenge. Turning off the running water, his large hands pick you up from the shower floor and squeeze your ass as you wrap your legs around his waist.
He kisses you with urgency and need, swiping his tongue into your mouth as if his life depends upon it, but the ardent kiss is over far too quickly as in three long strides Ari’s already at the foot of his bed, laying you down and pulling his shirt over his head.
You’re practically drooling watching him undress, his broad shoulders, strong arms and toned abs could fool anyone into thinking he was a god carved from stone. And when he finally strips himself of his shorts and underwear, you actually salivate at the sight of his deliciously large dick already hard and ready for you.
“Fuck, you’re so much bigger than Bryce.” Your brain is practically malfunctioning at the view of the naked, burly man in front of you and these words are all you can think to say.
“This is what you’ve been missing out on, Sunshine.” Ari comments with a smirk.
He kisses you again, with the same intensity as before, but now he takes his time to explore your mouth, his hands desperate to feel every inch of you, every beautiful swell and dip, every exquisite curve he gets to claim for the night.
“Turn around for me, I wanna see that ass.” You do as he commands, face and chest to his bed, arching your back with your ass in the air, giving him prime view of exactly what he wants. You grab your vibrator, switch it on your preferred setting and hold it at the angle you’ve come to know with experience gives you the most pleasure, humming in satisfaction when you find just the right spot. “Fuck, you’re so sexy when you use that toy.”
You feel him teasingly drag the head of his dick through your folds, coating himself in your arousal, which in turn makes you wetter.
“Shit, that’s a pretty pussy. So wet for me. You’ve been thinking about fucking me for a while, haven’t you?”
You breathlessly admit you have during the beat where he pauses and lines himself up with your entrance. A chorus of moans echoes through the room as he pushes into you for the first time. He fills you up agonisingly slowly, but his bruising grip on your hips prevents you from pushing back into him. The burn of your walls stretching to accommodate him dissipates once he’s fully sheathed within you and all you can think about is how completely and utterly full you feel.
“Holy shit, you’re so tight.” Ari gives himself a moment to savour the sensation of how your soft walls grip him and seemingly pull him further into you before he begins to move, quickening his pace with every new thrust.
“Fuck, you feel so good. Fill me up so deep, Ari.” The combination of the vibrator continuously stimulating your clit and the feel of Ari’s every inch driving in and out of you already has your toes curling.
“Say my name again baby, let the neighbours know who’s fucking you so good.” You do as he requests, chanting his name with every plunge of his cock.
His bed creaks with each rocking movement, the sound of the headboard thumping into the wall rhythmically fills the room along with your moaning and the salacious sound of skin slapping skin.
“Shit, right there, Ari. Don’t fucking stop!” You think perhaps there should be a part of you that’s embarrassed at how quickly you’re finding your release, but with how neglected and needy Bryce has left you, you’re utterly desperate to feel that pent up tension snap like a rubber band.
“That’s it, pretty girl, cum for me, wanna feel you squeezing my cock.” Ari can feel how close you are, your velvety walls fluttering around him, teetering on the edge of ecstasy. With one strong thrust, your long awaited release washes through you like a wave. Every cell in your body floods with pleasure, blinding your vision and losing control of all motor function, causing you to let go of the vibrator.
As if Ari can sense the future, he’s ready when you go slack, taking the toy from your limp hand and maintaining the perfect pressure on your clit, never breaking rhythm with his thrusts, prolonging your orgasm to the point where you’re desperately mewling for him to stop and tugging at his sheets to escape the tsunami of overwhelming pleasure.
“Best pussy I’ve ever felt. I bet Bryce doesn’t fuck you this good.” Ari says as he lazily pulls out of you, wiping stray, sweaty strands of hair from his eyes as he lays beside you on his bed, gently tapping his thighs as his indication he wants you to get on top.
“Not even close.” You say breathlessly with a smirk, a little insecure about how your legs wobble as you straddle him, though Ari doesn’t seem fazed by it. In fact, he looks overjoyed watching you look down at him, a hint of endearment swirling in his lust blown pupils you hadn’t been expecting to notice.
Ari lets out a rumbling moan as you sink down onto him, his hands instinctively finding your hips as he helps you through the motions of grinding down on his dick.
“Work it pretty girl, yeah, just like that. Use me, use this fat cock, it’s all yours.” Once you have worked up a rhythm Ari removes his hands from your sides, appreciating the sight of your pussy swallowing his shaft whole, before his itching fingers caress your breasts, rolling your nipples into stiffened peaks. “You’re so beautiful riding me like this. Look at these tits, they’re fucking perfect.”
“Oh God, I’m close, Ari.”
“Me too, Sunshine.” You barely hear Ari’s words as his strong arms engulf you, flipping you into his mattress. His heavy body presses you even further into the memory foam which is permanently infused with his intoxicating musky scent, trapping you so you have no choice but to take everything he’s giving you.
His long hair falls into his eyes, but it doesn’t stop him from making adoring eye contact. Did his eyes always soften when they gazed at you? Or are you only noticing it now that you are so much closer than you have ever been before?
You loved the angel he hit inside you while you were riding him, but it’s nothing compared to the mesmerising drag of his cock in this position, his hips rolling fervently into yours as his hands interlock with yours above your head and his lips suck on the sensitive skin of your neck.
The sex feels much more intimate than you were expecting when you essentially broke into his apartment to provocatively display yourself, wishing he’d be interested enough in an easy lay to give you one climax for the night. You’re not complaining though, you always did had a soft spot for Ari, and Bryce was rightfully jealous of the effortless connection you share.
“Oh fuck, Ari! Please, you're gonna make me cum!” You cry, his pistoning movements becoming more erratic as he chases both of your highs, his pelvis grinding against your clit repeatedly with each thrust.
“Cum with me, pretty girl.” Ari growls into your ear, your admission only spurring him on. The coil in the pit of your stomach winding tighter with each stroke of his tip against the spongy spot inside you that makes your legs shake uncontrollably and blinding stars burn behind your eyes. The same spot Bryce was never able to find, yet Ari sought out so easily.
Euphoria takes over you for the second time with a strained cry of his name, ecstasy shivers down your spine and out to the endings of every nerve in your body. You feel like you’re floating on a cloud of pure bliss as Ari captures your moans in an ardent kiss.
Your soft walls squeeze him deliciously and contrast to the sharp sting of your nails raking down his back. It’s enough to push him over the edge with you.
“Holy shit, I’m cumming!” Ari announces before a deep, husky grunt rumbles from his chest. The muscles in his abdomen tense as he spills his large load deep inside you with a drawn out groan.
When Ari finally pulls out, he takes a moment to appreciate the sight of your mixed releases dripping from your core, before he dashes into his bathroom to fetch a warm, damp cloth to clean you up. You flinch at the sensation, your body oversensitive after the two mind blowing orgasms he pulled from you, but your heart soars at the thought in his gesture.
Once he’s done, Ari’s sweaty form lays down beside you, pulling you into him, gently kissing down your neck and over your shoulder. A shiver runs down your spine at how much tenderness each small kiss is filled with.
“You know, I’ve kinda had a thing for you ever since Bryce introduced us, but I’ve never been that guy who makes a move on someone else’s girl.” You flip over so you’re looking at him, his eyes search yours for a sign that he is more than a convenient one night stand and this meant more than just getting revenge on his dickhead roommate.
“Well, I’m no longer Bryce’s girl…” You point out, which is met with a smile.
“No, you’re mine now.”
* * *
Before going another round, one where Ari vows to finally taste you, you suggest grabbing some bottled water to keep hydrated. You’ll need to replenish your fluids if he plans on having his way with you the entire night and into the morning.
When you open the bedroom door, you see a familiar figure lounging on the couch.
“Oh, hey Bryce.” You say nonchalantly, feigning ignorance that you knew he lived here, though it is a welcome surprise to see him home so early from the party where he would have heard every sinful detail of your genuine climax with Ari minutes before, something he had never experienced in your four months together.
He simply stares at you, mouth agape and eyes wide in disbelief as you casually walk over to the kitchen au naturel. You make sure to sway your hips seductively as you return to Ari’s bedroom, giving him a view of exactly what he’s missing out on.

a/n :: this is not stockholm syndrome at all. their relationship is and will be 100% consensual. i think it’s pretty obvious that it isn’t but it’s better to just address that.
Tumblr media
she has always made sure to do right by her father. y/n knew his career was important and while her mother was out the country on vacation with her girls, he insisted y/n join him for a fancy dinner party.
she had to dress up and look good so she didn’t embarrass him or their family name. it was a simple matter and she enjoyed the new clothing.
this time it was a beautiful silk red dress that stopped at her ankles with a slit up the right side.
“you don’t look all that excited for this party” yuzuha sighs but she helps her fix your outfit and makeup.
“he parades me around like some .. trophy” she scoffs, “father feels the need to brag to everyone about me but he forgets that he was barely around, too busy with work”
“i wish you’d move in with me” yuzuha says gently, “hakkai has moved in with mitsuya now so i have the extra space”
“yuzu—”
“y/n you’re 21 now” she says, “you don’t have to do everything they tell you to do. you need to live for yourself”
y/n knew she was right but there was no arguing against whatever her parents wanted. they could’ve abandoned her but at least she had her nannies and everything she could’ve dreamed of.
she felt that she owed them this much.
“think about it okay?” yuzuha smiles, “and please, chifuyu really worries about you so don’t ignore his texts”
y/n grin up at her as she reaches for the lipgloss to finish up her makeup.
“maybe i like playing hard to get” y/n tease and yuzuha laughs, flicking her forehead.
going to these parties were never really her thing but this one was different, he made sure to remind her just how important this night was for him and their families entire fortune.
the limo was parked right out front and he slowly helped her get in, which was good because she felt her arm catch onto something. a tiny pin prick could be felt as she made her way inside and then everything went black.
the sounds of people talking outside jostled her into consciousness. she’s still in the limo, she doesn’t even remember falling asleep but the slight pain on her side had her much more aware now.
“dad?” she call out, stumbling out the car. she hated the stupid dress she wore because it felt shorter now and the heels were uncomfortable against the gravel.
“why are we at the back?” y/n ask, confused. “the entrance is—”
“take her inside and make sure she doesn’t make too much of a scene” her father tells one of the bodyguards
she look at him in confusion and the grip on her arm is almost bruising.
“dad? what’s going on?” she tries to pull away but the taller, much larger man pulls her along and she sees the sad look on her fathers face and she knows this isn’t a regular dinner party.
there are other women around her age, looking as beautiful as she does but even more afraid. they’re all dressed up like they were attending a fancy dinner party but they all had the same black collar around their necks with a colour in the middle.
“what the fuck is going on?” y/n ask, eyes widening when the men in the room force them all into pretty glass boxes. as if they were about to be put on display.
“if you don’t want to be sedated, you’d better behave and do as they tell you” a girl whispers. she looks younger than y/n is, meaning she could be 19 and y/n feel an uncomfortable feeling in her stomach.
her own father was about to sell her off. it had to be a nightmare and maybe she was still in the limo, passed out from the lack of sleep from all the school work at college.
the lights dim and then the curtains are drawn. there are women and men all around the room, rich people with money to waste and she felt dirty as she felt eyes on her.
“oh” sanzu chuckles, leaning back as he grabs another flute of champagne, “they have new faces”
“how sickening” ran rolls his eyes. he had no reason to be here but rindou was getting restless and mikey suggested they follow a lead on their recent customer who owed them a lot of money.
“he’s in the front” rindou nods, “he’s not with his wife so perhaps his here to buy”
“not quite” sanzu smirks, “look towards the stage”

mikey clenches his jaw as he sees what sanzu is talking about. none of them could be considered good people with morals but family was important and so was loyalty.
“what am i missing?” ran asks dryly
“pretty little thing in red” sanzu sighs
rindou grins when he sees her. she’s the prettiest one on stage, the red bringing out her eyes even from the distance. she didn’t look scared like the other women were. she looked angry and hurt?
his smile drops when he realises what’s going on.
“that’s his daughter” rindou says
“she is” sanzu shakes his head, “disgusting pig will do anything for money, even going this far”
“is he planning to use this money to pay us back?” ran asks
“i want her” rindou says
“rin you—”
“i want her” he says more firmly, eyes never leaving her as she stands uncomfortably on stage behind the pretty glass.
he has always had a special kind of love for dolls, porcelain was his most precious treasure but he needed to have her.
“he’ll owe us” sanzu smirks, “he doesn’t know we’re here so i say we make him squirm a little”
“do your worst” mikey says dryly and leaves with ran out the back.
ran isn’t sure he wants to leave his younger brother in a room with beautiful women in glass cases but he’s never really collected humans before. perhaps he was playing around .
“number 4!” the host calls out and she feels her blood run cold. this wasn’t a nightmare. her own father was really auctioning her off to a bunch of rich people who wouldn’t even see her as a person.
she felt sick and resisted the urge to run, she knew she wouldn’t get far with the amount of guards surrounding the place and she could see a weird looking man standing nearby with a briefcase. she had a feeling there was something in there that would be used on her if she didn’t cooperate.
everything feels like a blur as the host introduces her. she can hear him speaking about her achievements, her family and where she comes from. they have no shame admitting who her father is and the old bastard has the nerve to look smug as the people in the room cheer for him.
she felt like throwing up, head a little dizzy and she realises then that he had drugged her on her way into the limo. she forces her poker face and looks straight ahead. she would not cry in front of these people and she’d never give him the satisfaction.
did her mother know what he was doing? did she go away on purpose?
she sees two men approaching her father, one with pink hair and pretty scars and another much more stoic man, his purple hair catching her eye before she looks away again.
“good evening” sanzu grins
“what—”
“don’t try anything stupid or we’ll shoot you” sanzu warns, smiling brightly.
“you sell your own child?” rindou asks, “do you have any shame?”
“it’s not what—”
“here’s what i think happened” rindou cuts him off, “you thought you’d made some money tonight, have someone have their way with her and then when you’re done paying mikey off, you get her back and act like nothing happened?”
“rich people love to throw their kids in therapy anyway, isn’t that right?” sanzu adds
“well tonight, things are going to go very differently” sanzu pats his back, “we are going to put in the highest bid for her”
“no please don’t do this” he begs, “she’s my only child you don’t understand”
“i didn’t ask” sanzu scoffs, “you’re just another sorry motherfucker”
“you better find another way to get the boss his money or it’s not gonna end well for your sweet little girl or your wife” sanzu whispers, “she’s in macau isn’t she?”
he swallows hard and tries his best to smile when he sees another couple walk by and greet him.
“this is what happens to people like you” rindou downs the last of his whiskey and walks towards the host.
they knew who bonten was and no one would try and outbid them.
she looked scared now that she was alone with them. she kept trying to pull her dress up despite it not revealing too much. sanzu found her to be very pretty but rindou couldn’t stop looking at her pretty brown eyes.
“what’s your name pretty girl?” rindou asks, “we’re not going to hurt you”
“y/n” she says, “why did you—”
“buy you?” sanzu asks from the drivers seat
“your father is a very bad man y/n” rindou explains, “he owes us a lot of money and tonight, he was here to sell you off to pay his debts”
her eyes widen and she allows herself to cry, covering her face as she leans against the car door. she didn’t even feel like she was in her body.
“my name is sanzu” sanzu says, “and that’s rindou, he really liked you”
“do you always do this?” she asks
“no” rindou says immediately, “in our line of work, we have different departments and we don’t deal with these things”
“but you do” y/n says, scoffing as she holds her arms around herself.
“the women who choose to work for us come on their own” sanzu says, “it’s easier than having a pimp on the streets”
“am I going to be like that?” she asks softly
“never” rindou takes her hand, “no, that’s not why you’re here”
“you’ll stay with rin for now” sanzu pulls up in front of a huge house, “his maids will assist you with whatever you need while we do our jobs”
“are you going to kill him?” she looks at rindou, “my father”
“he knew what he was getting into” rindou explains, “it’s not up to me what happens”
“it’s been a long day” sanzu yawns, “go inside and sleep it off”
“what about my cell phone?” she asks, “or my bag?”
“it’s here” rindou says, “i’ll be keeping it for now”
“as long as you behave, there’s no reason to be scared” he adds and she doesn’t say anything. she can see they both have guns and she’d rather not try her luck and when she didn’t even know where she was.
his house is huge, filled with paintings and it was almost haunting. he guides her through the house and into a large bedroom.

she feels scared and can’t help but start crying again. she didn’t want this and she didn’t want him to touch her either.
“this isn’t my room” he says, “you’ll stay here and if you need something, you’ll call for me and no one else”
“you’re not —”
“despite what people think, we’re not disgusting enough to sleep with women against their consent, go to sleep”

she’s too stunned to say anything as she walks out and locks the door. she knows her friends will be worried about her and she doesn’t even know what she’ll say to them.
she couldn’t tell them the truth, it was far too scary but she swore she saw a familiar face last night. he looked shocked to see her there.
there’s no doubt he would tell yuzuha, their relationship had improved over the years. maybe they could help her?
she cried herself to sleep that night, dreaming of running away from home, far away from the city and far away from the family she thought she knew.
“are you sure you saw her there?” yuzuha is pacing the kitchen, “this can’t be right”
“can’t we go to the police?” hakkai asks
“no” taiju says, “she wasn’t bought by some random rich guy”
“rindou won the auction” he adds and that has yuzuha panicking even more. what business did her best friend have with bonten?
“calm down” taiju says, “last night her old man sold her off, i heard he did some shady business with bonten and ran with their money.. she’s safe for now, just let me find out more before you try anything stupid”
“what will they do to her?” yuzuha asks, she’s trying to not cry but she can’t imagine anything good coming from this.
“nothing” taiju says, “they’ve never done any shit like this before, they’re playing a game and unfortunately her father got her involved”
“are you going to see them today?” hakkai asks, “maybe you could at least find out where she is”
“no promises but i can try” he sighs, “this is a lot bigger than any of us because no one crosses mikey and gets a slap on the wrist”
“he has to make an example” hakkai whispers, “even if it’s at her expense”
“I can’t promise that i’ll find anything out but trust that they won’t hurt her and y/n isn’t weak” taiju says, “let me handle this”

yuzuha nods, knowing she wouldn’t be able to do anything even if she tried to.
she wakes up a little disoriented, having fallen asleep in the red dress from the night before. she tries to remember where she is when the memories come crashing back like a wave.
she sits up fast, glancing around the otherwise empty room. the bed is huge but she can tell this room has never been used before. she doesn’t know if that makes her feel better.
the door opens and rindou enters. he’s changed from the night before and he hands her a bag with clothing and a towel.
“you can take a shower and change into something more comfortable” he says and when she finally stands, she notices the glass case to the side of the room.
“are those—”
“antiques” he grins, “i’m a .. collector”
she doesn’t know what he means by that but she can appreciate the fine china though she doesn’t know why he’d keep the tea sets locked up in a bedroom.
“you’ll come have breakfast with me once you’re ready” he says and she can tell it’s not a question.
“my phone” she says softly, “please, my friends they’ll worry”
“if you do as you’re told, you’ll get your phone back” rindou explains gently, “i don’t intend to keep you as a prisoner though you’d look beautiful all dolled up”
y/n doesn’t ask what he means by that, following him into the on suite bathroom.
“this is your bathroom” rindou smiles, “you’ll be able to get new clothes and whatever else you may need but try and run from me and i won’t be so nice”
she nods and waits for him to leave before she takes a deep breath, staring at her reflection in the mirror. her face is puffy from crying herself to sleep.
the entire night still doesn’t feel real but she can’t get the look of her fathers face out her head. her was willing to sell her off to anyone that would pay a high price to pay off his own debts. she was starting to realise she never really knew her own father.
the warm water relaxes her enough to let her guard down and she allows herself a moment to think about rindou. she didn’t understand what the man wanted from her. he didn’t want to sleep with her or maybe he did but he wasn’t going to push her.

he was being nice when he didn’t have to be. she supposes this might just be a lesson for her father or whoever else tried to cross bonten.
if she really thought about it, it might’ve been effective if she didn’t know all about bonten and the rumours she’s heard even at college.
she swallows hard. would she be able to go back to school after all this? she was sure some of the people there last night could’ve easily been parents to kids at her college and the thought has her running out the shower to throw up. her stomach was empty anyway.
“you can text your friends” rindou hands her the phone, “i don’t know what you’ll say but be careful, i don’t want to have to make an example out of your friends”
“that won’t be necessary” she says quickly, “thank you”
there are over 50 missed calls from Yuzuha alone and when she opens her text messages, she realises she doesn’t have to say a thing.
taiju was there and he told her.
she feels a knot in her stomach as she sends a quick message promising that she was fine and that she’d call whenever she could.
“what did he do?” y/n asks when she’s done drinking her juice, “my father…”
rindou sighs.
“you don’t think your father could run his business that successfully all these years without making some deal?” rindou asks, “do you remember when his business started getting successful?”
“he’s always been successful” y/n frowns, “but last year, he gave almost every single employee a bonus”
“which would’ve been bad for business if he couldn’t afford it right?” he asks and she nods slowly
“last year a friend of your fathers introduced him to my boss” rindou shrugs, “your old man had other interests outside finance”
“what do you mean?” y/n asks
“women” rindou grins
“no” she immediately shakes her head, “he wouldn’t”
“no?” rindou laughs, “and yet look where you are right now sweetheart”
she looks down at her empty plate and feels like crying again. she wasn’t sure how much more she could take before she really had a breakdown.
“don’t look so sad baby” rindou pats her head as he walks behind her, “you’re far better off with me than that old man of yours”
she doesn’t know what to believe right now but she feels too tired to argue. she just sighs and stands to take her plate but he stops her.
“how about we go for a drive hm?” he says softly, “i have some things to do for my boss but i’m all yours”
she doesn’t want to think about the shiver that runs up her spine at his words or the way he smells so good from being this close.
“okay” she finds herself agreeing. it’s not like she has anything else to do because she was off from college for a while anyway and she wasn’t even sure she wanted to go back to her old life.
a life that seemed so distant now.
“where’s my daughter” he asks, slamming his hands on the table as ran lazes in his chair.
kakucho smirks as he watches the old bastard throw a fit.
“you weren’t this concerned about her last night” ran scoffs
“i had everything under control!” he says, “i knew the buyer-”
“you’re a sick fucking man” kakucho cuts him off, “selling your kid for a night for what? so you could pay off your debts?”
“i do what i have to for my family” he says angrily
“no, you do what you have to for yourself” ran rolls his eyes, “you’ll never see her again so you better just focus on getting mikey his money or your wife won’t be getting on that plane home tomorrow night”
“she’s just starting her life” he begs, “please,i’ll do anything”
“you should’ve thought about that before you paraded her around like some pretty little prize” kakucho moves from where he had been standing.
“we’re done here” ran says dryly, “see yourself out”
“i’ll go to the cops” he threatens but they just laugh at him. they were used to empty threats.
the drive seemed to make her feel less uneasy around rindou. he wasn’t very talkative but she liked the quite anyway. she didn’t feel like talking either and when they arrived home.
he still had business to do so she found herself walking around the house. it was beautiful but she wondered how he stayed by himself aside from his maids. it felt too big and cold for just one person.
at the end of the hallway, she stumbled upon a large oakwood door. it was bigger than all the other doors. she hated how curious she was as she slowly pushed the door open.
the room was covered from top to bottom in glass. it felt as though she was intruding but she slowly entered, eyes widening in shock when she saw all the dolls.
porcelain dolls of all shapes and sizes in beautiful glass cases. she gasped when she felt someone stand behind her, her back pressed firmly against his chest.
“i see you’ve found this room” he chuckles, “beautiful isn’t it?”
she wasn’t sure she’d call it beautiful. it was a lot more scary than she’d like to admit but she was also fascinated by it all.
“why—”
“i’ve told you before, i liked to collect pretty things” he gently places a hand on her waist
“like me?” she finds herself asking despite herself.
“i’ve never collected humans if that’s what you’re asking” he laughs, “though you are very pretty and i guess last night, i found myself wanting to keep you too”
“what about now?” she turns to face him
“i don’t want to see you the same way i see these antiques” he cups the side of her face, “if your father complies, you’ll be free to go”
“and if he doesn’t?” she whispers
he just chuckles, lightly patting her cheek.
“i have to go see mikey” he smiles, “behave yourself”
“are you going to lock me in the room again?” she asks and he sighs
“no” he shakes his head, “you’re free to roam, just don’t run from me because i will find you”
“i want to see my friends” y/n says
he runs his hands through his hair.
“okay” he agrees, “but remember what i said”
“thank you” she says, sounding relieved.
“and keep your phone on” he adds and she nods
yuzuha nearly drops her glass in the sink when y/n walks into the kitchen.
“y/n?!” she grabs her into a tight hug and y/n laughs, a little startled.
“what’s going on?” yuzuha asks, “how did you—”
“you’re squeezing me” y/n pats her arm, “i’m fine, let me go so i can explain”
“is it true?” yuzuha asks, “did he do anything to you?”
“he didn’t do anything to me” y/n promises, “he let me come see you so maybe this isn’t even about me right now”
“your dad… he really did that shit?” yuzuha takes a hold of y/n’s hand
“yeah” she laughs bitterly, “it feels like a horrible joke”
“so you’re just gonna … stay?” yuzuha asks
“for now, yeah” y/n shrugs, “i think it’s better to just do what he asks”
“did you … meet them all?” yuzuha asks after a while, handing y/n a glass of water.
“no” she shakes her head, “just the brothers, their boss and sanzu”
“he gave you one of his cars?” yuzuha looks outside
“it’s probably because it’ll be easy to track me” y/n laughs, “i could still technically escape”
“so why don’t you?” yuzuha can’t help but ask
y/n doesn’t know how to answer that question so she looks down at the glass in her hands. was it weird that she felt safer in rindou’s house than her own?
“i can’t go home and he knows to look for me here” y/n shakes her head, “word would get out that i escaped and he’ll come here first”
“i also don’t know if my mother is involved or not so they could easily get her too” she adds, “it’s just better to stay with rindou, at least he’s nice”
“nice?” yuzuha huffs, “y/n don’t tell me you’re crushing”
“crushing?” y/n scoffs, “i met the guy at an auction where i was one of the prizes, it’s not exactly a meet cute situation”
yuzuha laughs. at least y/n could make light of a serious situation.
“you came back” rindou says and she’s surprised at how shocked he seems to be.
“did you think i’d run?” she asks, giving him his keys back.
“i gave you an out” he admits, “this has nothing to do with you”
“i don’t..want to go back there” she says, “my fat— that man, auctioned me off like a piece of meat.. he could do that again without hesitation”
“hey it’s okay” rindou says gently, “can i?”

she nods and he pulls her in for a hug. he pats her head gently. he wasn’t sure what he was meant to be doing. he never had this kind of intimacy with his past relationships. it was always about the sex or business, nothing more and yet here he stood comforting the daughter of the man that crossed them.
“take a nap if you need to” he tells her, “dinner will be ready later”
“thank you” she sighs
“do you want to let her go now?” sanzu smirks, “that’s interesting”
“i don’t” rindou admits, “but i didn’t think it would get like this”
sanzu laughs. it was fun seeing rindou like this. the man was never girl crazy but he had his fair share of fun but rindou haitani didn’t care for anything other than his brother and work.
“word on the street is her father hired some low life gang bangers” sanzu grins, “think he’s trying to get her back by kidnap”
“what does mikey want to do?” rindou asks
“nothing” sanzu shrugs, “we’ll wait and see what the old fucker does”
“hm” rindou nods, reaching for his drink.
“isn’t glass dolls so much easier to deal with?” sanzu asks, “they can’t talk back and they don’t cause you to feel anything”
“and you have complete ownership” he adds
“i don’t want to own her” rindou scoffs, “not in the way you think”
“you have a soft spot for the girl” sanzu laughs loudly, tipping his head back.
rindou thinks his friends is so much prettier with his mouth shut.
y/n finds it harder and harder to sleep. a week has gone by but it feels longer and there’s been no calls or texts from her mother either. she’s starting to realise they must’ve been planning this for a very long time.
how else would her father know about that type of auctions? he had to be apart of it. she feels sick to her stomach that laying down only makes her feel dizzy and nauseous.
“you’re still awake” rindou says when he sees her in the kitchen. she startles and he grins, standing next to her as she pours him a glass of wine as well.
he likes how comfortable she seems to be in his space and that could pose as a problem because how would he be fine with her leaving?
he leans closer and if she notices, she doesn’t say anything.
“you haven’t been sleeping well” he says and she sighs. it wasn’t like she could deny it.
“would you like me to keep you company?” rindou asks
“rin—”
“i’ll just lay with you until you fall asleep” he adds, “i meant what i said, i won’t touch you unless it’s what you want”
“okay” y/n nods and lets him take her hand, leading her to the room she’s been staying in.
“just close your eyes for me darling” he smiles, “you’re safe with me”
she finds that she believes him. his warm next to her and she falls asleep.
“he gave you his card to go shopping?” yuzuha laughs, “oh my”
“it’s not like that” y/n says, “i don’t have anything of my own and i don’t think i’ll get it right now”
“have you spoken to chifuyu?” yuzuha asks, “he’s been asking about you”
“i texted him this morning” y/n shrugs, “i don’t want anyone making a big deal about this right now”
y/n walks around the clothing isle to look at dresses when she feels 2 men come up behind her.
“you scream and I’ll shoot your friend” he says, “walk forward and don’t make a scene”
she swallows hard and nods quickly. she doesn’t know what’s going on, was this bonten? was this rindou’s plan all along?
she wills herself not to cry as she walks out the store, she doesn’t look back even when she hears yuzuha call after her.
her phone vibrates in her pocket but she knows she can’t reach for it. none of this feels real.
“your fathers been expecting you y/n” the other man says, “get into the car”
father?
when she gets inside the black suv, she feels like throwing up. her father looks far too pleased to see her and he takes her hand and squeezes.
“you’re safe now dear, don’t cry anymore”
she hates him.
“i didn’t know who else to call” yuzuha cries, “one moment we were shopping the next she’s walking out the store with two men dressed in black suits”
taiju looks over at mikey who clenches his jaw. he looks angry, this wasn’t them.
“what’s going on?” yuzuha asks, “is this her father?”
“i’ll handle it” rindou says
“rindou” mikey says but rindou ignores him
“i said i’ll handle it” rindou walks out with ran following close behind.
“you aren’t hurt, are you?” her father asks but she doesn’t answer him. she won’t even look at him as the guards force her to sit down in his office.
he dismisses them and he sighs.
“you need to understand that i do what i must to take care of our family” he says
“you do what you must to take care of yourself” y/n scoffs, “you’re disgusting”
“you say that but i did everything for you” he laughs, “how else would you have everything you’ve ever wanted?”
“your mother was too soft on you” he adds dryly, “this was character building and you’ll do right to remember everything i do for you”
“what—”
“you’ll do as you’re told” he cuts her off, “i have spoken to a friend in italy and his son is around your age”
“excuse me?” y/n widens her eyes, “you’re still trying to sell me off?”
“don’t be so dramatic” he rolls his eyes, “it’ll be a legal marriage”
“i hate you” y/n stands and tries to leave but he grabs her arm.
before she can yank her arm away or scream, the sound of gun shots rings loud outside. she can hear the commotion and shouting before her father knocks her out.
the last thing she hears is the sound of the door opening and another gunshot.
her head is spinning when she opens her eyes. she feels the softness of her pillows and she’s got a cold cloth on her forehead.
“y/n?” rindou whispers
he dims the lights when she squints, sitting up slowly. she looks around the room and she feels herself crying.
“hey, it’s okay baby it’s just me” rindou sits beside her and she moves closer to him, wrapping her arms around his neck.
“it’s okay, you’re okay now” he says softly, “he’ll never hurt you again”
“did you…” she trails off
“i wanted to but i didn’t” rindou admits, wrapping his arms around her, “i did shoot him in the arm but he’ll be fine”
“he wanted to send me to italy” she sniffs, “he was never worried about me”
“i’m sorry” rindou says because he doesn’t know what else to say. he wasn’t good at comforting people but he’d try for her.
“do you want —”
“please just… kiss me” she says, “i want to be distracted for a while”
“your adrenaline is high” he pats her head, kissing her cheek, “you don’t want this”
“rindou i’m not a child” she frowns, “i want this”
“how long?” he asks
“when you stayed with me the other night” she says, “i think i started liking you before then but i do”
“this situation isn’t exactly ideal” he sighs
“i don’t remember a time where a situation was ideal in my life” she scoffs, “especially after everything he said to me”
she did feel like her life was a lie, everything until now.
“rin” she whispers and he caves, leaning in to kiss her softly. he’s been thinking about this since the first night he saw her but it was so much better.
her tiny gasps and the way she wraps her arms around his neck makes him feel dizzy.
he pushes her gently onto the bed and she’s never been more happier to be wearing a skirt. it’s a pretty skirt that rindou had complimented her on.
“so fucking beautiful” he groans, spreading her legs further to fit himself in the middle.
she was far pretty than any doll he’s ever collected and her skin was soft and warm. she was real and all his.
“tell me what you want baby” he grins, “I’ll give you whatever you want”
“i just want you” she smiles shyly up at him and he’s imagined this moment far too often to ruin it.
“you have me” he smirks, running his fingers up her thigh before he reaches her panties.
“lift your hips” he playfully hits her thigh, “i’ll make you feel real good”
she does as she’s told and the next moment she finds herself flipped over onto her stomach. he doesn’t give her a moment to breathe before he slips his middle finger into her pussy.
she whines and he bites back a loud groan. she was so tight and wet, he needed to keep his composure because he had no desire to hurt her.
not unless it’s what she wanted and since this would be the first of many, he planned to make her remember this moment forever.
“so good” y/n moaned when she felt him add a second finger. he leaned down to bite down on her ass before kissing his way between her pretty legs.
“such a pretty pussy” he moans before he slips his tongue between his fingers.
she cries out, arching her back and he uses his free hand to spank her. he then grips her firmly so she can’t move away and begins a slow rhythm of eating her out and fingering her open.
“want more rin” she slurs, “please”
she's never been this open during sex, has never felt this good before and she knows she doesn’t want the feeling to go.
“so impatient” he chuckles but he’s already undressing. he wants to take his time with her but he can feel how hard he is and he knew he’d have enough time to explore.
right now, she wanted him and he’d be the perfect distraction for her.
“spread your legs a little more sweetheart” he says, rubbing his tip through her folds before pressing into her.
she bites down onto the pillow and he smirks. he knew he was big and thicker than most. this wasn’t the first time he’s had sex but he’s never had feelings for anyone before now and he feels lightheaded when he finally bottoms out.
“fuck” he grunts, “shit baby, keep still for me”
he could use the excuse that he just wants her to get used to the feeling but he’s the one that needs a moment. he didn’t want to embarrass himself but she felt so good around him that he couldn’t resist thrusting forward.
her moans are so pretty and she’s not shy to call his name over and over again.
“that’s it pretty girl” he says, “it’s all yours”
he feels her squeezing and clenching around him and it’s so hot and sticky that he can’t help but pull back a little to stare down at where he’s fucking into her.
they needed to be careful and they did have a lot to talk about but that could all wait.
“god baby, fuck yourself back on my dick” he groans, throwing his head back.
talking could wait, he wanted to focus on her and only her.

The whole scene where Ellie is leaving Dina and JJ is so heavy, it makes it harder for me to breathe. One would say the only horrible thing about this scene is the fact that Ellie is leaving, choosing Abby over her family. But there's more than that, and it's killing me.
When Dina comes downstairs and sees Ellie packing her bag, she appears unaware of what is happening. But in fact, she is well aware. She knows it as soon as she wakes up and finds out that Ellie is not in the bed. And what makes this scene so heavy is the way Dina tries to convince herself that THIS is not happening AGAIN. The way she just smiles and starts talking about JJ so casually, as if she didn't catch Ellie packing her bag to leave her. She doesn't want to admit it to herself. She can't admit it to herself, even though she already knows. She knows Ellie has already made up her mind when she sees her in Joel's jacket in the dark.
Tumblr media
The way she says, "Come back to bed." and turns around, praying for Ellie to change her mind in that moment. But that doesn't happen. Instead, Ellie speaks up, and we see in the way Dina closes her eyes how the crushing feeling of losing Ellie suddenly becomes so real and palpable to her. She doesn't need to admit it to herself anymore. It's happening, and it's so hard to accept.
Tumblr media
We finally see that Ellie is not the only one struggling. They were both there in Seattle when it all came down. "For you and for him, I deal with it." Dina says and we realize that maybe if it weren't for the two of them, she would be a wreck too.
Tumblr media
But to realize it, Dina and the way Ellie treats her in this scene is not the only one to get sad over. Ellie has her reasons, and knowing what she went through and who she lost, we can't blame her for them. This makes this moment much more painful because we know Ellie is living her family life in denial. We know this has nothing to do with Dina or JJ. Ellie has always loved them. But she's not doing well, bottling up her feelings. She doesn't sleep, doesn't eat, has panic attacks and bad memories to remind her every step of the way of just how big of a hole there is in her heart. They have a beautiful home, but they aren't happy—maybe at heart, but not inside their heads. Dina has always known there was going to be a time like this where Ellie's bad memories win, and Ellie lives her life pretending everything is fine because she doesn't want to hurt the people she loves the most.
Tumblr media
Also, we can see how deeply Ellie hurts by choosing to leave Dina. When she says, "I love you." and Dina wants her to prove it, Ellie knows she can't. And it has nothing to do with the feelings she has for Dina. She loves her, there's no doubt about that. But she can't go on like this. She can't rest until she gets closure. This way, she'd finally be able to give Dina what she deserves. She feels like shit, it hurts her so bad knowing that Dina has always been there for her, choosing her over anything else—almost dying because of her. And now, when the tables have turned, she's not able to do the same for her. She's leaving her instead, and it hurts so fucking bad.
Tumblr media
"I'm not gonna do this again." is when Dina breaks up with Ellie, and through a heavy heart, Ellie lets her because she knows it's for the best. She knows she's weighing her down, and she believes Dina will be better off without her. That's why her answer is more of a cold one, "That's up to you." because Ellie needs to give Dina a reason to think she doesn't deserve her love; all to make it easier on her to let her go. I just can't.

Part 1
”I’m bringing you home Malysh” She said as she closed the portal and walked over to where you were laying. For a moment you thought you were still dreaming. That was until you felt Wandas hand on your cheek ensuring you she’s real.
“Where’s home?” You asked after finally coming to terms with the fact that she’s really there. She smiled softly before she reached her hand out for you to take. You rubbed your eyes and then slowly grabbed her hand before you got out of your bed.
“You’ll see soon malysh” Wanda said softly before she flicked her wrist and opened up another portal. You were still very confused and not 100% sure you weren’t dreaming as you walked through the portal.
When the both of you walked through the portal you were met with vivid colors and a more beautiful universe. The universe had much brighter colors than yours did, the sky was a different shade of blue and everything just seemed better. Wanda led you from where she had made the portal to the little house she had bought in a woodsy town in upstate new york.
Once you walked into the house you immediately took a few moments to look at the decorations. The house was small but cozy with a soft furniture that complimented Wandas style. The walls were painted a light green, there were beautiful paintings varying from van gogh to flowers. You smiled as you took in all of the decor and for some reason you felt at home right away. Wanda smiled as she watched you wonder around and take everything in.
“This is home malysh” Wanda said once you took a moment to take everything in.
“It’s beautiful Wanda” You mused with a smile still holding her hand.
“I bought this house right after you passed…You had mentioned to me how much you loved this house one day as we drove past it. So i bought it to honor you after the accident.” She said softly leading you to the sofa and sitting down. You sat on the soft dark green sofa as you listened. The story made your heart break and your eyes well up with tears as she spoke.
“I’m sorry” Your words caught her off guard. “I know it isn’t my fault for ya know dying but im sorry that we never got time together and you had to come to a different universe for me. I honestly dont think im worth all that” Wanda squeezed your hand softly for reassurance and shook her head. Her eyes were soft as she looked at you and shook her head before speaking.
“Darling i would cross any timeline and go to any universe to find you again. I know im not your Wanda but i still love you the same. And if its any consolation i know your Wanda feels the same but is just too scared” She said with a certain sadness in her voice that made your heart break a little more.
“I know this is all a little weird but if you want i would love it if you stayed here…with me” Wandas voice wavered as she spoke almost as if she thought you’d say no. You smiled and grabbed her hands and rubbed your thumb against her knuckles.
“I’d love that…There’s nothing for me in my universe. I have no family, Wanda chose Vision as you already know, I dont really have any friends on the team besides nat so yea i’ll stay” She smiled brightly at your words and moved in closer before she brought you in for a passionate kiss. You knew that you probably shouldn’t stay that there would more than likely be repercussions of your actions. But right now in this moment you couldn’t care less because you felt so loved by her.
*Back in 616*
Wanda wondered the compound hoping to find you but had no luck everywhere she checked. She sighed as she wondered back to your room to see if maybe you were in there.
“Y/n? You in there?” Her soft voiced echoed through your room. After a few seconds of waiting and no response she used her powers to open your door. Wanda sighed when she entered and saw you weren’t in there. She closed her eyes and let out a deep breath before age went to sit in your bed. She then saw the stuffed unicorn she bought you for your birthday one year and grabbed it. Wanda smiled softly as she held the stuffed animal.
That’s when she decided she was going to try to find you using a location spell. So she closed her eyes and focused on finding you. What she saw made her heart stop. You were sitting on the couch with her only… it wasn’t her it was a Wanda from another universe it looked like.
“What the hell” She whispered to herself as she saw the two of you walk around a small cottage looking house. Wanda’s heart stopped when she saw you leaning in for a kiss. You were giggling at something the other Wanda had said and it was just like when the two of you would hang out together.
Wanda sat there on your bed for what felt like forever watching you and other her interact. Her heart filled with joy at the look on your face. You looked happy with other her. But as Wanda continued to watch she couldn’t help but feel a sense of loss. She has always loved you but never had the courage to say anything so when Vision asked her out she didn’t think twice. Everything was great with Vision at first till she noticed how distant and quiet you got around her. As the days went on she tried to find the strength to leave Vision and tell you how she felt but she never did.
Twenty minutes passed before Wanda got up and knew what she needed to do. She left your room and then went to her own to change and collect her thoughts. After she got dressed and calmed her anxious mind down she opened up a portal of her own.
*818*
Once she conjured the portal she walked through and entered a world that looked like her own but yet it was vastly different. She looked around for a moment before she saw a red trail that resembled her powers. Her brows furrowed as she followed the trail for what seemed like forever.
When she got to the small cottage looking house from her vision the red trail ended. Wanda froze as she stood outside the house the house. She didn’t know what to do. Her mind was racing. What if you were mad at her? What if you were happy with this Wanda and didn’t want to come back? Should she just leave to be?
Her heart stopped when she heard your laugh from inside the house. The laugh sounded real and genuine… She couldn’t do it. She couldn’t ruin your happiness for her own selfish reasons even if she wanted to fix things.
*Inside the house*
You and Wanda were sitting down on the couch watching friends giggling at the antics of Joey and Chandler when Wanda felt something off. She tended under your touch as you laid on her chest and when your eyes met hers they were red.
“Wanda? Are you okay?” You asked placing your hand on her cheek growing worried. She didn’t respond as she grabbed the hand that was on her cheek.
“You need to go outside. She’s here” She finally said after her eyes went back her their normal green.
“W-Who’s outside?” Your worry and concern kept growing as you spoke.
“Just go Malysh” She said with a sad smile on her face. You could tell by the look on her face that she wasn’t gonna listen to your protests so you nodded and headed words to the door.
Your hands shook a little as you twisted the door knob. And once the door was opened and you saw who it was your heart stopped and tears formed in your eyes.
“Wanda?” Her eyes meet yours and it felt like all time had stopped. “What are you doing here?” You asked walking down the steps.
“I’m sorry. I should’ve told you how i felt before. I’m so sorry y/n please please come back to me “ She pleaded holding onto your hips once you were in reach. Your hands found home on her reddened cheeks and you gave her a sad smile.
“I-I don’t know if i can” Wanda could hear her heart breaking at your words. It was in that moment that all her fears came true.
~The end of part two~

Luffy x jealous reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/n: All of these are just fiction. You are pretty, lovely, and beautiful <?33 Word count: 600 Request are open Warning: insecure reader but Luffy is beige so he comforts u
ft: Luffy, Boa
Requested: <yes> <no>
Tumblr media
You love Luffy, you really do. But God, he’s so dense it hurts. Right now, he’s being fed by none other than the Kuja Empress herself, Boa Hancock. She even learned how to cook meat, just for Luffy!
Yeah, you can stand your ground in terms of attractiveness. But with the most beautiful woman? Yeah no, you’d wither away like a speck of dust.
You’re glad that Boa finds Luffy attractive. But at the same time sad. Luffy is handsome and strong. It makes sense that he’ll need a partner that can be on his level. And well, you’re quite far from it.
It doesn’t help that Luffy is oblivious to all this! Yes, Luffy is way smarter than he looks. And yes, he can be serious sometimes. But what does he know about love? He’s like a newborn child when it comes to it. If it weren’t for Robin pushing him to confess, you would’ve imploded!
It also doesn’t help that when the pirate empress first saw you, she was…disgusted. And when she looked back at Luffy, her heart and eyes went back. Not to mention, you also had a lesser portion of food being given to you.
Finally having enough, you left the scene and went back to you and Luffy’s shared room. You contemplated whether to just sleep at the ship for the rest of the week or stay in the castle.
Tumblr media
You lay down on the futon, looking at the blank ceiling. Light filled the corner of your eyes. Standing there was Luffy and meat in his mouth.
He entered the room and closed the door. The two of you were silent, and an uncomfortable aura filled the area. Luffy swallowed the meat whole and then spoke, “Are you ok, Y/n?” You shifted your body and positioned it to stare at Luffy. “Of course, why would you think that?”
He tilted his head to the side and crossed his arms, “Well you seemed down when we were eating…was it because I stole all your food?!” He laughed, “You gotta be quick next time, Y/n.”
“I guess so,” you said. Your voice was dry and had no feelings. You shifted your weight back to your original position, and once again, looked at the ceiling.
Luffy frowned at your reaction and used his gum-gum fruit to snatch you out of the bed.
You gave out a little squeak and gasped, “Luffy!”
“Are you mad at me, Y/n?” He asked, pouting, “I’ll try not to steal your food anymore, ok?”
You smiled a bit from his gestures, “I’m not mad at you, Luffy. Just tired.”
“Really? But we’re having fun downstairs.”
“Well, you can go back down, Luffy. I’m not gonna stop you.”
Luffy looked at you for a while and finally spoke, “Nah.” He held your bridal style and went to the futon. He put the two futons close together and dropped you on top.
“Luffy?”
“Sanji said that if a woman is sad then you should spend time with them. So, I’m gonna cuddle with you tonight, Y/n!” He gave you a flashy smile and wrapped his rubber arms around you three times.
Tumblr media
Morning came and you woke up from the sun shining on your eyes. You looked beside you and noticed Luffy still asleep, his hair was a mess, his mouth was wide open, and his arms were tightly wrapped around you.
You blushed from what you remembered last night and opted to wake up Luffy. But, you never had a day as peaceful as this. And so, you went back from your sleep and embraced him, once again.
Tumblr media
A/n: I just want to let you all know THIS is just a fictional story. You are of course perfect just the way you are <?33

hii i love your work sm! do you think you do back to december by taylor swift ethan x reader?
back to december — ethan landry
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
word count: 1,876
pairing: ethan landry x fem!reader
summary: after insecurities got the best of her, y/n breaks up with ethan. a few months later, she goes to his dorm to say sorry for that night.
warnings: angst, mentions of toxic relationship, insecurities.
Tumblr media
Y/N KNEW SHE HAD PROBABLY MADE THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF HER LIFE BY BREAKING UP WITH ETHAN, but at the same time she knew it was probably the best thing for him. The ghost of her past relationship never quite stopped haunting her—do the wounds of a toxic relationship ever fully heal? Y/N was starting to believe they did, until she bumped into him, and the fears crept back into her mind after that.
Do you really think he loves you?
He only wants you for your looks, but he’ll eventually get tired of you, like I did, because you have nothing else to offer.
Smart boys like Ethan Landry end up with equally-smart girls, Y/N. You’re just a good fuck for him, a doll to have on his arm.
It’s not going to last, he’s going to break up with you. He’s too good for you, you know that, right?
Those were the words that he had said and Y/N couldn’t erase from her mind. Those were the words that led her to leave her only source of happiness, the only boy she had ever truly loved. Ethan was better off without her, he was too amazing and sweet to have to deal with her and her insecurities and demons.
But if it was for the best, why did it feel so wrong? She hadn’t been able to sleep ever since. She stayed up late and played the scene of her leaving the commodity of his arms.
The worst day after the break-up had been the one of his birthday. Many were the times she had opened his contact, her finger floating around the ‘call’ button, but she didn’t dare to do it. And then, she saw their friends’ Instagram stories and she broke down. They were throwing him a party, and Ethan looked so beautiful yet so sad, and she knew that was on her. It was wishful thinking, probably mindless dreaming, but she wondered if one of the birthday wishes involved her.
She missed him so much, the pain wouldn’t leave her chest. She missed watching him laugh from the passenger side when they made their way to college, she missed his long fingers wrapped around hers, his big brown eyes that were like magnets, and she really missed those lips she used to call home.
It had been three months since she left him standing in his living room, with a crestfallen expression and without letting him fight for their relationship. Y/N knew that if she had let him talk, she wouldn’t have been able to walk away, so she ran before that could happen.
A few weeks after that, she got into therapy, thing she should’ve done since she stepped out of her toxic relationship, and was finally able to see she had messed up. She should’ve never walked away without telling him everything first, she forgot the most important thing in a relationship is communication. She had let herself get scared by the ghost of her past and hurt a person that had done nothing but give her roses, and in exchanged she had left them there to die.
Y/N had decided it was time to swallow her pride, take her feet towards Ethan’s dorm and say sorry for that awful night. Not only for him, because that’s what he deserved, but also for her. Because there hadn’t been a day in which she hadn’t gone back to December, wishing she could go back in time and change it. She couldn’t do that, but she could still make things right.
So building up courage, she knocked on his door. Heart beating faster as she listened the sound of footsteps getting closer to her.
Ethan cursed when he heard the knock. Dragging his feet across the living room, he scolded Chad on his mind. His roommate had the habit of forgetting his key and it really annoyed Ethan. Though when he swung the door open, he froze in his place as he came face to face with the girl who lived free-rent on his mind. Even if she had ran away after the three words left his mouth, he couldn’t help missing her.
That rainy december night, in that very same apartment, Ethan had told Y/N he loved her. It was something he had been dying to get off his chest. He hadn’t expect her to say it back—he would’ve understood if she wasn’t ready, but he definitely hadn’t expected her to walk out of that door without uttering a word. He had given her his heart and she had dropped it, breaking it into a million pieces like shattered glass.
“Hi.” she broke the heavy silence.
“What are you doing here?” he asked in a cold voice. Ethan stood firmly on the door, furrowing his eyebrows.
“I wanted to talk to you.” she said softly, and then, disguising the pain it caused her, though not doing a great job at it, she added, “I texted you, but you either changed your number or you blocked me.”
Guiltiness filled his chest, but then he shook it off—she left him, not the other way around. He shouldn’t feel guilty. Of course he blocked her, and then deleted her number to avoid giving into the need to call her and beg for an explanation. “Um, yeah. Look, if it’s about that night, it’s okay. I’m over it, we don’t need to talk about it. Let’s just move on, on our own way.”
I’m over it… those words were like a slap to her face. Did he really move on? Had the love he felt for her turn into ashes? Fighting the urge to cry, she pleaded, “I can’t move on if I don’t explain what happened. I understand if you don’t want to see me right now, I can wait. I just… I really need to tell you what was going on in my mind. I still live in the same apartment, so, if you decide you want to hear my version… you know where to find me. No pressure.” she gave him a tiny smile and turned around, ready to walk away.
Ethan heard the sound of his own voice say “Wait.”, making her turn around with hopeful eyes, and Ethan just gave in. Her eyes were still his greatest weakness, just as his eyes were hers. “Come in.”
The two ex-lovers sat awkwardly on the very same couch they had been laying on that night. "So, how's life? How's your family? Haven't seen them in a while." she said, meaning to clear the mood.
"Good, we are good. Busier than ever. Did you come from work?" his tone was a polite one, but it didn't hold the softness Y/N had been accustomed to. It was very clear that his guard was up, and Y/N knew exactly why—he hadn't moved on like he tried to make her believe a couple of minutes ago, he was still hurt and confused. The last time he saw her still burned in the back of his mind, and that's why she needed to explain everything.
"Yeah." she answered before sighing. "I know this is uncomfortable for you, so I should just get it off the desk. I'm sorry, Eth. I'm sorry for that night. I'm sorry I didn't come sooner, I'm sorry I ever left."
The walls broke down after the situation was addressed, and Ethan finally showed how he really felt—his eyes got glossy and he looked her in the eyes, the desperation painted on his face. "Why did you do it? I told you I loved you for the first time, and you just left me. I don't understand. Did I scare you? Was it too soon for you? I'm sorry if I overwhelmed you, I just wished you would've talked to me instead of disappearing."
"God, no. Stop. Why would you apologize? You did nothing wrong." she assured him, resting her hand on top of his. "It wasn't too soon, and I didn't leave because I didn't love you. I did. I've known it since the fall."
"Fall? But we started dating during the fall." he said confused. Y/N blushed and shrugged—yes, she had fallen in love with him quickly and hard, but it was inevitable. Ethan was the most amazing guy she'd ever known. "If you'd known it since then, what happened? Why didn't you say it back?"
"That morning I bumped into my ex." Y/N confessed.
Ethan furrowed his eyes and his jaw clenched. Nothing good could've come out of that encounter. He remember the way she sobbed on his chest as he held her in his arms that September night; how, in between hiccups, she told him the manipulation and abuse her ex had put her through. And now, everything clicked: why Y/N had looked so shaken up when they met that day, why she looked so off. "What did that asshole say?"
Y/N repeated every exact word. Words that had worked as salt on a wound that had never quite closed. "I really thought I had moved on from all that hurt, but it took just a few words from him to tear all my confidence and progress down. After I broke up with you, my mom sent my this therapist's number... and now I’m finally okay."
Ethan was never a violent person, but now, he wanted nothing more than to find that piece of shit and cut his tongue so he can never speak like that to someone again, especially not to his girl. "I'm so sorry, Y/N. I should've asked you what was wrong."
"You did, Eth. And I brushed you off." she smiled weakly. "I should have told you. I was just so scared, and I really believed he was right. I'm so sorry, Eth. I'm sorry for hurting you."
"It's okay. I understand now. You didn't deserve to go through the hell that asshole put you in. I'm glad you got help and moved on from that."
"Me too. I just... I just wish it hadn't been at the expense of your feelings." her voice got weak, and Ethan didn't hesitate to wrap his arms around her.
"I know, but you are okay now, and you came here to explain everything." he assured her, pressing her close to his chest. "I missed you."
"I missed you too, you have no idea. I have been replaying that moment since December, I wish I could change what happened."
"Stop punishing yourself, love. It's done, it's in the past. You are here now, we are here now. That is all that matters."
"I love you, Ethan. I loved you then, and I still love you now. And... I get if you aren't ready for this but I want to try again. I swear I'll love you right, just like you deserve."
"I've been dreaming of this moment for months, love." he said softly and sweetly, eyes shining like fireworks. "Yes, I want to try again. I love you."
"Really?"
"Yes, really" he said, leaning down to let their lips connect. And as always, they were like two pieces that belonged together, two pieces that should've never been apart. "I loved you then, and I still love you now."

"You're As Beautiful As The Day I Lost You" - Abby Anderson x Reader
You were told that you’d never be found.
You knew this meant giving up Abby and Lev, but it was to keep them safe, and you would rather them to be safe then cost their lives by being selfish.
It’s been a quiet life in this isolated place, those monsters couldn’t find you, that group of rouges couldn’t find you. You had learned to live with it, and have done so for five years now.
That doesn’t mean you ever let your guard down, so when you were washing dishes in the sink and heard a creak in the floorboards behind you, you wasted no time pulling the hidden gun from under the counter and quickly aiming at the intruder.
But this wasn’t an intruder…this was the one person you would never even dare to harm.
Abby…
You take in a shaky breath as you slowly lower the gun, staring at her as she does the same with her own.
“Abby” you say while examining her, already reciting the apology you have wanted to say for years but thought you’d never get the chance to.
“I know I left you alone, and I’m so sorry, I had to keep you and Lev safe.” your words don’t come out as confident as you want them to under the blonde’s unwavering stare, “I didn’t have a choice with those rouges coming after me and I knew if they ever found me then I would loose both of you and I wasn’t going to let that happen”
You didn’t realize that you were crying until you felt a tear roll down your cheek, you look at Abby as she still says nothing and simply looks at you.
“Abby…say something, anything, shout and scream at me, just say something” you start to plead as you watch her walk forward and you back up until you are pressed against the counter with her slightly looming over you.
She stays quiet and brings a hand to your cheek, “You’re as beautiful as the day I lost you” Abby says and you finally notice the tears in the corners of her eyes.
It finally hits you that she’s standing right there, you can feel her touch again, and it hits you hard enough that you crumple into her arms.
Abby sinks to the ground with you in her arms, holding you as tight as she can while you grip onto fistfuls of her shirt to ground yourself.
“Please don’t let me go” you say through sobs as every emotion you have stored away these last few years finally break like a dam.
“Never…never again” Abby murmurs into your hair as the two of you finally hold each other once again.
an - sorry if this is short! writers block has been kicking my ass and school is a whole other monster, hoping to get back into routine soon!

The omaticaya clan was bustling with life and joy as their tsahik has given birth to their Olo'eyktan's first offsprings, though it was uncommon for twins to be born and were called sacred and gifts given by eywa herself as twins either kills the mother or one of them dies at the time of birth but this time it was a miracle as neytiri survived that painful period of time and came back alive with two beautiful children in her arms.
Neteyam and y/n were the pride and joy of Jake and neytiri's life, y/n being the absolute daddy's princess and clung to him with every given minute , he took her everywhere he could, strapping her to his chest and taking her to war meetings as the surrounding warriors didn't even dare to think about commenting on the sight in front of them, while y/n was with Jake, neteyam was a mama's boy and neytiri could never let Jake live down to it, always flaunting how her son always wants her and not him and his comeback is always how much y/n wants him but the banter always ends up with the four of them cuddling together in the hammock as they all drift to sleep.
»»————- ⚜ ————-««
Neteyam and y/n were like sun and moon, if one is leading the other follows right after, and that's how it always was, y/n would lead and neteyam would follow her, though they both never disobeyed their father's words, Jake was their role model, both y/n and neteyam followed Jake's orders as if there was no tomorrow but they still had their moments when suddenly neytiri became their favorite because now Jake wanted nothing more but pick them up and tickle them until they were convulsing in fits of laughter.
If y/n was seen somewhere then neteyam was surely around the same ground and vice versa so if any of the kids picked on one of them the other immediately stood up for them, the twins were inseparable, joint to the hips if you must and the village nothing but adored them, they were the future Olo'eyktan and tsahik in making afterall but even before that everyone just loved them for their bubbly and calm nature.
Jake carried y/n on his shoulder while neytiri held neteyam as they both walked towards the lake they all visited every week, but today was different, today they had news which would change the twins life probably forever….
»»————- ⚜ ————-««
Jake and neytiri both sat near the twins as they watched their kids run around chasing each other and splashing water every now and then, meanwhile Jake got distracted and seeing the opportunity the twins splashed water at their old man with all their might drenching Jake from head to toe while all neytiri did was laugh at the sight, huffing Jake got up and stormed towards the kids, picking them up , the squeals and laughter ringing through the forest, he threw both of them in the water gently, all the while laughing at the whole scene, soon it was getting dark as they cuddled together, that's when the parents decided to tell the news, "neteyam, y/n" neytiri started, she looked at Jake once more and he nodded for her to go forward " you know you both are brother and sister right now, hmm?" Both the kids just nodded their head, their little brains confused about why their mother is stating the obvious, "well, now you both will get to be big brother and sister in few months" but their confusion was still there as they looked at their father for clarification, Jake just smiled and said "well what mommy is saying that, there will be another person for you to play with in time, then you'd be big siblings to them" but the only thing the twins focused on was 'they will have another person to play with them!'.
Soon enough Two babies joined the family and the twins couldn't be any more happier, y/n held her baby brother, looking at her twin who held her new baby sister as well, they both smiled, Jake and neytiri were happy they accepted the new ones with so much enthusiasm, both the elder kids adored the babies, always carrying them, feeding then and taking care of them, neytiri and Jake have to plead with them to hold them because they never let the babies out of their sight, their protectiveness doubling over those little ones, and to add to it , tuktirey joined the family in the next two years, happiness was an understatement for the bustling family right now.
Jake and neytiri tried to not keep favorites and divide their attention but having 5 kids to take care of made them take the decisions, even though neteyam and y/n were the dream kids ,that made them have lo'ak in the first place, with little to no crying and obedient as ever, eywa blessed them with lo'ak and kiri that we're complete opposite of their older siblings, lo'ak got into trouble and kiri followed without a doubt, always together and tuk was tuk, in y/n's eyes tuk could do no wrong, she was her little baby sister after all. It had been a few years now, life was simple, everything was perfect…. Until it wasn't.

Humans were back, they destroyed everything, again, took our newly built hometree, destroying it to the ground, and changing our lives forever.
~ y/n pov ~
It has been years now, since our former home was destroyed and those humans claimed our land without our permission, though the humans which lived with us helped us so much but they could only do little, raids became more frequent and dad's behavior changed with it, he insisted on me, neteyam and lo'ak calling him sir, drilling us into work, practices , and chores all throughout the day without a break, training was different other than that, it was like we didn't even have space to breath.
I sigh walking through the tent with 'teyam and lo'ak, tired as hell from today's work, i just wanted to nibble on some food and pass out in the hammock, sitting down near the circle i took ahold of my plate, nete' sat beside me and lo'ak on his left, kiri and dad sat side by side in front of me, mom in between lo'ak and kiri with tuk in her arms. I started eating my portion when my eyes fell on my sister who was talking and smiling with the man beside her, oh how long has it been seeing him smile like that, he never smiled at us anymore except for kiri and tuk or sometimes mom, i forgot about the food in my hand as i only stared at their interaction. I felt jealous, i know that i shouldn't be jealous of my own goddamn sister! But i was and it was gnawing at me, she gets to call him dad, she gets away with anything while i get scolded for hours for the same mistake, he took away my title of tsarekam and gave it to her because "she is more connected to eywa and can feel her more clearly" and i said nothing and happily agreed because c'mon she's my sister and i can see that she could be a better tsahik than me but it still hurts that he was the one initiating it. I was then named and trained to become neteyam's right hand in command after he became the Olo'eyktan.
Even after the other title, i just longed for my old dad, the one who pulled me close and comforted me and not scold the hell of me for it, he says "it's part of the training" or "it's my fault i should own up to it" after a mistake i did, while kiri gets the opposite. My mood just depleted more when i saw him laugh out loud for something she said, i was brought out of my trance when neteyam nudge me with his knee and i looked at him, he tilted his head giving me soft eyes conveying that he sees it too but i just shook my head, too annoyed at them to reply to him. I pushed my plate, losing my appetite all together, I got up thanking ma' sa'nok for the meal and walked out telling them I was going to feed y/i/n. I walked out to feed her/him but I didn't tell them how exactly I was going to do it. I always had my visor with me anyways.
I soared through the mountains, wind blowing through my hair but even this wasn't helping to lighten up my mood. The forest glowed beneath me, the eclipse will happen soon but I wanted to make every minute count before I have to go back. my thoughts were interrupted as a sudden gust of wind blew from my side, i knew who it was before i saw him, i just nudged him back, his laughter rang out. We twisted and twirled around each other, loops and drops forming in the air as we played for a while, afterwards we landed near a tree and let our mounts hunt for their food.
I sat with my knees tucked to my chest and my arms wrapping around them, my cheek pressed into my knee as I looked at neteyam, who was leaning on his hands, legs dangling down the edge of the branch. " You know how emotional kiri is, he just wants the good for us" he started but i just rolled my eyes at him, he's just saying that to make me feel good but even i know he feels the same, i scoffed and said " you really believe that? He has always done this! Sometimes it's like he favors her over us, answer me 'teyam when was the last time we called him 'dad'?" He stayed silent, he knew the answer well, sighing as he put his arm around my shoulder, giving me a squeeze of reassurance. I just leaned onto him, i remembered how many times we have been scolded by now ,We had bets placed sometimes between me, lo'ak and him on who would get scolded the most from dad, but it seems like lo'ak was in winning streak here. Neteyam's attempts at cheering me up were successful when he got up and jumped off directly calling for seze midair, my heart was in my mouth at his stunt, while he laughed at my surprised face,I flipped him off, I too got up determined to get back at him and chased him all the way back home, looping around him and blowing gusts of winds at each other.
I landed near the nest, laughing as i jumped down disconnecting from y/i/n, neteyam landed beside me laughing as well, both our hair were a mess but it was still so much fun we had after a long while, i turned around to walk towards our tent but my smile faded away when i saw our father standing near the tent entrance, neteyam froze in his tracks as well, yeah we were fucked, again, we both treaded our way towards him, keeping our eyes on the ground as we stood in front of him, wincing when he actually started talking " have you two seen what time it is? It's past the eclipse, I thought you were going to feed your ikrans and not fly with them!!" Grimacing at his tone, i said glancing at neteyam one last time "I'm sorry sir, it was a hard time finding the hunt, it won't happen again" he just scoffed "next time just feed what we have available, no need to go outside without my permission", my anger rose with it but i stayed silent not wanting to escalate further but then he spoke again "that's what I want, i expected better from you both, you're the eldest you should know better than this'' with that he walked straight inn, i just looked at neteyam, eyes squinted but he shook his head as in 'let it be'. I sigh defeated, as we both enter the tent, seeing everyone was in Their hammock, kiri fast asleep beside lo'ak who was snoring loudly, i got in beside him and tuk rolled onto me, i hugged her close pulling her inn, neteyam got in from the other side, pulling us all together, but sleep never came to me as i laid awake and my mind running back to the times my father scolded me again and again for nothing, it bothered me but it's not like anyone's gonna help, even mother was putting up a blind eye to it, i closed my eyes begging the great mother to grant me some semblance of sleep and she answered when i was sucked into , not a calm, but restless sleep…
»»————- ⚜ ————-««
It's been a few weeks since that encounter but life's been the exact same if not worse, it's always 'y/n you're wrong' , 'y/n don't you understand?' , 'y/n what's wrong with you?' and same towards neteyam, we are both exhausted of this and mom didn't say word against it, i tried talking to her, telling her what's going on with me and my twin but every time she either dismissed it or simply replied with "it's for your own good" and that was that, i was getting frustrated minute by minute , so was neteyam, where i showed my anger a little bit , he completely hid it from everyone else and it was consuming him, i can see it everyday how he works silently, does everything alone and has stopped asking for help even from me. Our father's neglect towards us was making us fall apart.
I tried my best to keep us both sane, well atleast for while as i think we are still sane, our flights together were cut short by our dictator, instead, we were thrown into assembly of the upcoming raid, day and night we worked on strategic management and barely got any sleep while our "sir" was busy with work "we couldn't understand", complete bullshit but staying silent was better than being grounded for asking another question.
Now with new training sets, another batch of practice was dropped on us by our father. He demanded that we practice more because we were getting lousy…..his words not mine, as if we ever got a chance to even act lousy.
»»————- ⚜ ————-««
We stood in front of our dad as he scolded us for the upteenth time now, why you ask? Well lo'ak took tuktirey out for adventure and they were attacked by some kind of animal i don't even remember now, why are we being scolded? Because we didn't see our precious little brother take tuk out as we were too busy with our training that he yelled at us to complete beforehand, so it was our responsibility to see each and every step our brother takes even when we were clearly busy with other things, it's our fault of course.
"How many times have I told you both to keep an eye on your brother but you don't understand do you? So until you both get on your senses you are grounded" he spit at us with venom in his voice, i looked at my mom for help but she just shrugged , as if this was alright ,making anger shoot through me, so this time i didn't stop myself, it was already getting dark outside the eclipse was nearing and what i said next made his eyes pop out, " if you're so adamant about us disobeying your orders to keep and eye on lo'ak, then why did you tell us to train for the 6th time today? we were doing what you fucking told us to! I don't have another set of eyes to keep them on lo'ak, he's a person in himself, he can think for himself, it's not our fault he decided to do something like that, we can't look after him eclipse to eclipse without not doing my work, which you demand from us, and if i don't do my work, you come and bite our ears off, yelling on and on how "lazy we are" or how "me and neteyam neglect our work to have fun", we haven't had "fun" in a long long time ,Sir, when was the last fucking time you held us close? Huh? When was the last time we called you 'dad'? …… Right, you don't fucking remember! Because it's been years!! Okay? I never said anything but i can't TAKE it anymore, all we do is follow your stupid orders day and night without a single protest but you think it's not enough and weigh down on us even more, I'm fucking done with this, it's better to die then live this nightmare any longer, we are tired and exhausted, so please just shut up for one moment and let us live!" I was yelling at him at this point, tears were streaming down my face, neteyam held me close, tears of his own running down his cheeks, we haven't slept in days, constantly working and worrying about the upcoming raid that he didn't even grant us permission to sleep, and i meant what i said i would rather die than live this all over again.
He looked at me shocked and surprised, his eyes trailing to neteyam who he stood by my side, backing me up because he had enough himself "she's right, sir, all we've been doing is work for you, we were training on your orders, we did not see lo'ak taking tuk out, but even if we did, she's his sister too, he has the right to have fun with her, so please we are both tired of everything, just let us go, we haven't slept in days because you want us up and running for your raid strategies and didn't even bother to ask if we are okay or not? I agree with y/n, i would too rather meet eywa then go through all this again.. please just let us be"
He just stared back and forth between us, his eyes showed no emotion, he looked cold and unforgiving and what he said next left us speechless "if you want to live under my roof, you will HAVE to follow my rules, and if doing that is gonna make you rebel against me then, be my guest, I'm more than happy if you pack up your bags and get the fuck out of my house!" and believe me when i say i never wanted to punch my father in the face, ever, then i want to right now, i recovered from my shock quickly, my blood boiling at his statement, he would rather have his kids gone then let them live like they have a life of their own? If that's what he wants then he'll get just that.
I straighten my spine and looked at my twin who had the same look as i did and we both knew what we had to do, we stormed inside the tent and started packing the necessary things we needed for at least a week, mom was crying and stopping us both from doing it, getting in between us , yelling at us to stop and listen to her, but we did not stop for one second, she had the chance to be heard and listen but she blew it off, while our father was just staring at us from the entrance with no regret of his words thrown at us, whatsoever, that's fueled my anger even more, picking up the bags we started to walk out but mom dropped down on her knees in front of us as she begged " ma'y/n, ma'neteyam don't so this, it is wrong, your sempul was wrong, I'm sorry i should have stopped this before, please do not leave us like this" she was crying even more than before now, i just rolled my eyes at her and gently removed her hand as did neteyam, we just shook our head, this was it, we had enough of this , we walked out calling for our ikrans when two small arms wrapped around my thigh.
I looked down to see tuk who was crying, her big doe eyes glassed over with tears, with wobbly lips she said "please don't go tsmuke, i love you, please, we can go make flower crowns together if you're sad, you can come with us too tsmukan" i dropped down to her level and kissed her forehead, neteyam following my moves, we pulled her in for a hug as i said " it's okay tuk tuk, but we can't live here now, one day if eywa wants us too, we'll see eachother but before that i will always miss you and keep you close in my memories ma' paysyul" she just nodded even if she didn't understand the depth of my words, she just nodded sniffing, i don't know if the next time i see her, she'll even remember me or not, neteyam said his goodbyes too and we mounted our beasts, we were about to be airborne when a voice called out "you are making a mistake, both of you, we can sort this out, you still have time, you can apologise and it would be all good" and i looked at him shocked, he had the audacity to say that we can sort this out by apologising to him when we didn't even do anything to begin with! In that moment, for the very first time, i hissed at him, baring my fangs on display for him to see, he was taken aback by that and neteyam didn't hold back from hissing either, with that we flew off, in search for a new home for us….

Kiri and lo'ak were shocked to hear that their siblings have left them for good, they both saw how they were treated but never got in between because they were too scared, but now how they wished they would have so this day would not have existed, neytiri was a complete mess, blaming Jake for driving their kids away from them, she knew she was to blame as much as Jake because y/n had come to her, tried to explain that this was taking a toll on them but she did not hear her, simply trusted Jake on their training and now this was the result. Tuk was crying in her father's arms, not knowing when she'll get to see her tsmuke and tsmukan. Jake was now regretting his actions and words, he shouldn't have been so hard on them, they were his kids! What was he even thinking? But it was too late now, why did he have to say that even when they were departing for good? The weight of the situation weighed down on him when they both hissed at him, for the first time in ever, his kids, his twins, his first born's! How did he fucked up so bad that the only option left for them was to fly away from them….from Him.
That day, all of the omaticayans searched for the beloved twins till the end of the next eclipse but they were nowhere to be found, the whole clan mourned for them for days on end, praying to the great mother for their return but still they never came back, neytiri wept for days for her babies, regretting all her answers towards them, begging eywa to give her children back, yelling at Jake for what he had done but soon accepted her kids were never coming back, they were gone…. forever and she will not get to them grow up any longer.
Jake sat near the tree of souls, memories of his dear twins playing on and on, what has he done? Will he ever get to meet them again? Would they ever forgive him for this? Tears rolled down his eyes, away from everyone he let himself cry, sob for his kids that he so cruelly shoved aside and now he's facing the consequences of his actions, he will never forgive himself for this, never, he just wants his kids back and he's ready to do anything it takes to get them back but it was too late now…..the only thing he can do is wait for them, even if it means forever, he ignited this inferno that he's burning inside of now.

Micro Expressions on Hannibal Part I - The Softening of Will Graham
Tumblr media
I'm obsessed with observing actor's subtle expressions and Hugh Dancy is such a god on this specific art.
This is absolutely heartbreaking because in this point, Will still trusts Hannibal. You can see a tiny expression here that hints at a "huh, you really do care about me", or even "you seem to care about me...I wonder why". It's fond, but coy, it's Will being surprised at the gesture, yet trying to hide how pleased he is with it.
Which just adds to the aftermath of Hannibal's betrayal in Will's mind. And we never got to see their relationship develop to a point past violence (towards each other), meaning, we only saw them consummating the relationship through the Dragon fight, but we didn't get to watch it develop after that, and so their relationship, as beautiful and passionate as it was, never passed the point of "okay, I won't actually try to hurt you again" which could only come from experience. They'd have to spend time together after the fall, building that trust, healing the wounds they've inflicted upon one another, and we never saw this. Which makes this even more sad. Because Will would probably be so paranoid about his health and body around Hannibal. On edge. As he should be, unfortunately, considering that H literally considered killing him up to the last episode (in the WOTL script we see that H considered killing Will with the bottle opener, hence the line about the inconvenience of compassion).
Will seems to be touch/care starved, at least in Season 1, which could mean his whole life or most of it up to the turning point of prison, betrayal etc, because he probably learned to hide it better. Maybe he thought his subtle yet noticeable display of vulnerability (leaning into Alana's touch, melting into her embrace, his face when Hannibal touches his forehead for a fever, kissing Alana to ground himself, the paternal relationship with Jack, pushing his glasses scene) made him an easy prey. As if his need for care and affection and the willingness to receive it whenever it is presented was the reason he was so willing to let Hannibal in so easily (considering how reserved and kept to himself he was).
This of course, could be reaching. But the way his expressions towards H change from s1 to s2 is absolutely insane. It's natural, obviously, but it's interesting to observe and try to understand what that coy, fond expression actually meant, since he gave that to no one else but H.
He began their interactions by being rude and standoffish yet quickly became more malleable. No, not just after Abigail and the baby trap, but even laughing in a genuine way with H in that breakfast scene. He saw Hannibal way before he directly communicated and showed that. "How do you see me?" suddenly caring about H's perception of him, or even suddenly telling Hannibal, without him asking, about the copycat (in the first episode), just blurting it out to someone he barely knew. At that point perhaps it was more of a subconscious pull/trust that he (almost) blindly followed.
So this scene. This little face he makes after "you made me chicken soup" is that "huh, maybe I'm right, my "heart" feels close to you maybe you feel the same too". Which just makes everything that happened so much worse.
Please watch it in slow motion and zoom in, otherwise it's probably too subtle to notice right away.
