“You’re not wearing that, are you?”

With furrowed brows, you looked at Tartaglia. He was standing behind you, watching you as you turned in front of the mirror to get a better look at your outfit. “Why?” you asked, a hint of confusion echoing in your voice. “Is there something wrong? Is it too much?”

“No,” he replied, and a smile flashed over his face as he stepped closer and wrapped his arms around your waist from behind. Resting his chin on your shoulder, he added, “It makes you look even prettier than you already are, to be honest. Everyone’s going to stare at you.” He nuzzled your cheek. “And I’m not sure if I like that thought.”

You felt your face growing hot at his words and tried to wriggle out of his hug. “Stop that,” you said with a sheepish grin. “No one’s here, there’s no need to act like we’re a couple.”

Tartaglia hummed in response and took a step back after releasing you from his hug, although he couldn’t deny that your words hurt him more than he liked to admit. He knew that you were right – the two of you weren’t really dating, after all. It was just a show you put on to stop your friends from constantly pestering you to finally find yourself a boyfriend. When you had asked him to pretend to be in a relationship with you for a while, Tartaglia hadn’t hesitated to help you. Up to this day, he hadn’t regretted it – well, a bit, maybe.

At first, it had been nothing more than a game and a secret the two of you shared – something that never failed to make you laugh when your friends weren’t around. But as the weeks passed, things had… changed. At least for him.

He had no idea how you felt about the whole situation, though. If you still thought about him as a friend or if his constant flirting did have some kind of effect on you… if you maybe had developed real, genuine feelings for him too. It was foolish, he knew that, but he couldn’t help but hold on to that thought whenever he saw you.

You watched him in the mirror, the way he stared into the distance absent-mindedly, his pretty blue eyes filled with something you couldn’t quite put your finger on. He often had that look on his face when he thought you weren’t noticing it but whenever you brought the topic up, he always told you that you were imagining things before he quickly changed the subject.

That didn’t stop you from asking, though. You turned around to face him, your left arm slightly outstretched, almost as if your body couldn’t decide if you wanted to reach out for him or not. “Hey,” you said, your voice a lot softer than you initially intended. “What’s wrong?”

It was fascinating to see how his facial expression changed almost immediately, how he put on a smile that could have fooled anyone but you. “I was just thinking that you’re right,” he replied and shrugged. “About us, I mean. We’re not a couple when your friends aren’t around, and I’m sorry if my actions made you feel uncomfortable.”

You let out a surprised laugh. “What made you think I was uncomfortable? I just – I don’t know, I guess I wanted to say that there’s no need to pretend anything when we’re alone. It’s not necessary and I don’t want to bother you. Um…” You shook your head, annoyed by your own stammering. “You’re not making me uncomfortable. That’s what I was trying to say.”

You watched as his smile slowly transformed into a more honest one, and suddenly, there was this warm feeling welling up inside you again. It had happened a few times already, mostly when he looked at you like you were the most precious thing he had ever seen or when he hugged you like he had done earlier but you had never bothered yourself with thinking about it. After all, he only acted like that because you had an agreement with each other, not because he actually cared about you… at least not in that way.

And it was fine, although you couldn’t deny that a part of you had always wondered what it would be like to be in a real relationship with him. He could be reckless and even kind of belligerent sometimes, yes, but when he was with you, he seemed to be a completely different man – caring and considerate, always trying his best to make you smile when you were upset or sad. He was your best friend, the one you could always rely on, no matter what happened.

And sometimes, just like in this moment, he was the one who made your heart skip a beat without even knowing it.

“We should go,” you said, shaking your head once again to get rid of the confusing thoughts that had come to your mind. “The others are probably already waiting for us.”

On your way back home, you couldn’t stop thinking about something your best friend had said to you. Sometimes, you couldn’t help but wonder if they secretly knew that your relationship with Tartaglia wasn’t real but since you didn’t want to risk anything, you had decided to let sleeping dogs lie a while ago. Maybe they didn’t know it, anyway but something about the way they looked at you when they told you how happy you could be to have someone like him in your life, had suggested that they were well aware of your fake dating. “If you weren’t so cute together, I would be so jealous, really,” they had added with a grin, darting a glance at Tartaglia who had been joking around with one of your other friends at this point. “He’s awesome, (Y/N). Don’t mess this up, okay?”

The words were still echoing in your mind. How could you mess it up if everything wasn’t even real? Of course you knew what they were trying to say but at some point, you would have no other choice than messing everything up because you either had to tell your friends toe truth or act like you and Tartaglia had broken up. You couldn’t force him to play along forever, after all.

Sooner or later, he would find someone and fall in love for real, and then you would have to let him go, no matter how awful it felt to imagine him being with someone else. The thought hurt – and at the same time, it made you absolutely furious.

You stopped in your tracks, confused by the sudden anger that welled up inside of you when you thought about Tartaglia’s hypothetical future partner. Just because he would start to date someone, you definitely weren’t going to lose him; he would still be your friend. The only thing that would change was the fact that he would no longer act like he was head over heels in love with you.

And that was the moment it finally hit you.

The problem wasn’t that you were afraid of losing your friend. The problem was that you didn’t want him to fall in love with someone else – you wanted him to love you, actually love you, not just pretending like he had done for the past couple of weeks.

It was absolutely crazy, you knew that. He had agreed to fool your friends with you for a while because he thought it sounded like fun but actually developing feelings for each other hadn’t been a part of the deal. It had been completely out of the question, even.

Heck, why did everything have to become so complicated all of a sudden? Why did you have to fall for him? Everything he did, every hug, every kiss… all of that was part of your charade. He didn’t do it because he had romantic feelings for you.

Right?

You couldn’t help but remember the scene from earlier when he had hugged you in front of the mirror, implying that he’d be jealous if someone else would start to admire you. There had been no one around to see; he didn’t have to talk to you like that – and still, he had done it. And he had hugged you in a way that still made your heart beat faster.

Damn it. You needed to talk to him.

You needed to talk to him right now.

You turned around and rushed back to the restaurant where you had parted ways maybe fifteen minutes ago. He wasn’t there anymore but you knew that he sometimes went for a walk near the docks because he liked to listen to the sound of the waves, so you decided to look for him there.

It wasn’t too hard to find him – and as he spotted you approaching him through the crowd, a soft smile flashed over his face. “Did you miss me already?” he asked in a teasing tone that usually would have caused you to roll your eyes. But right now, it just made you feel more insecure.

“I need to talk to you,” you said. Admittedly, it wasn’t the smoothest conversation starter but you were way too nervous to bother yourself with being particularly eloquent in that moment. “About us.”

He raised his eyebrows. “About us?”

“About the whole situation,” you explained. “The relationship thing we have going on. I – I don’t think I can do this anymore. It just… it just feels wrong to pretend like we are dating when we’re not. I don’t know why I came up with that idea in the first place, it’s so stupid and I’m sorry for dragging you into this and-“

“Whoa, slow down, (Y/N),” Tartaglia interrupted you and furrowed his brows. “What are you talking about? I told you many times that I don’t mind helping you. I know your friends, I realize that they can be quite annoying when it comes to… well, your love life. You’re not taking advantage of me if that’s what you’re concerned about.”

You buried your face in your hands for a few seconds and let out a frustrated groan. “That’s not the reason I want to end this, Tartaglia,” you said. “I want to end it because it just feels wrong. We don’t love each other – we shouldn’t pretend that we do. It’s… it’s just not right.”

“Who says I don’t love you?”

You had expected every answer from him but not something like this. With wide eyes, you stared at him, searching his face for a sign that he was joking, that he was trying to fluster you like he already did a million times but his expression was unusually serious. “What?”

“Who says I don’t love you?” he repeated patiently. “You said it’s not right to pretend that we love each other. But the truth is that I’m not pretending anymore. So, it’s not wrong, is it?”

You couldn’t reply. Your thoughts were racing as your brain tried to comprehend what he had just told you but you felt like you weren’t able to think straight at all. Not when all you could think about was that he loved you.

Tartaglia stepped closer, gently cupping your face with his hands. “I love you,” he said, the tone of his voice so earnest that it send a shiver down your spine. “And I think that you may love me too, so if that’s the case could you please say something? Or – I don’t know, blink twice, maybe?”

“Shut up,” you said, finally snapping out of your state of shock. “Shut up and kiss me.”

Yoongi ran through the hallways of the hospital with anxious eyes and shaking hands. As soon as he got the room number from the receptionist he hurried to room No. 42 to be by your side. Yes. Your side.

•One hour earlier•

Minji bombarded you with messages while looking around your house only to find you nowhere, she knit her eyebrows in confusion. 'Where were you ?' She put her phone back in her coat pocket and started opening the only three doors in your small flat. "Are you playing hide and seek with me ?" , she asked in a loud and playful voice. When you didn't reply Minji got more confused.

"Y/n ?" Minji raised her voice, just in case you weren't able to hear her.

A gasp escaped Minji's mouth as soon as she saw you.

Right after she had opened the door to your storeroom she saw you lying unconscious on the floor.

Yoongi felt as if all the oxygen had stopped entering his body, because it quite literally had. As soon as he gained his senses back he messaged Minji.

•Present time•

Minji heard the door creak open. She snapped her head in that direction.

Yoongi stood there. His face pale, seeing you on the hospital bed. Minji rushed to his side and cried on his shoulder while Yoongi placed a comforting hand on her back.

Both of them were upset at your situation. Why was this happening ?

Minji slowly opened the door to your room with a tray. Once she saw you awake she almost dropped the food she was getting for you. She regained her balance before walking over to you and keeping the food tray away.

“Y/n ?”

“Yes unnie ?” You did your best to sound normal but your voice came as a whisper.

Smiling sadly at this, she held your hand and kissed your forehead.

And her eyes got teary as she started apologizing.

"I'm so sorry Y/n that I couldn’t be there for you. And the one time I show up we don't even get to have a movie marathon."

You both let out a soft chuckle while sobbing.

Minji picked up the tray before saying, "Now let's eat, shall we ?"

While she helped you eat you asked Minji about her studies but she dismissed those questions and asked you questions about your health instead.

You always hoped that the moment you would meet your best friend again would be the happiest. You weren’t planning it to be in a hospital.

But what mattered was that she was back. The only person who had been with you the whole time even if she wasn't physically present.

Minji had left the room after some time because Yoongi soon came in after hearing you had woken up and she wanted you two to have privacy. When the door shut Yoongi slowly walked towards you. He sat down on the bed and held your hand.

"I- I want to tell you something. Something that's been killing me."

"I'm here." you comforted, giving him a sign to continue.

You could see Yoongi was hesitant at first but he also knew that he needed to get it out.

"I had tried my best to not fall in love with you since the first time i ever saw you because I wasnt allowed. But silly me just had to fall head over heels for you. You are just so perfect. I had my whole future planned out with you, I wanted only and only you. I would give you anyhing you wanted and I for once wanted to become someone in my life and it was all for you."

Tears could be seen in his eyes and his delicate fingers were now rubbing circles on the back of your hand as if he was handling something very fragile.

"But all my dreams started crashing like a glass because of my father. I was so lost in you that I had forgotten that I was already forced into an engagement with a girl whose family would provide riches to my father. I tried my best to hide you from him and everyone who could hurt you. I had money, I was working and I was getting ready to take you with me somewhere far for he would never let me marry you. But once again i was thrown down from the sky. My father found out about you and I was forced to cut ties with you. Now i knew i wouldnt be able to do that and my devastation started hurting you: after realizing I immediately tried to get you out of my stupid life. It was necessary Y/n. I loved you too much to let you go but I had to or I would loose you."

He took a deep breath before continuing.

"Y/n that d-day I didnt cheat. I was beaten up by my dad and I decided to drink to drown the sadness. In this state, my fiancee tried to make a move on me. You didn't see the whole thing. But once again I couldnt tell you everything."

"I had to pretend-" his voice broke.

"I had to pretend that I did it and use it as a way to get you away, and believe me Y/n it broke me so damn much."

You rubbed his back gently trying to control your sobs while Yoongi tried to even out his breathing.

"Did you notice Y/n that even after my sudden change i used to try to be normal again ?" He asked looking at you.

"I tried to take you away from home for a while but whenever i got close to my dream my father pulled me to reality."

You nodded remembering how whenever you saw a glimpse of the old Yoongi, he’d receive a phone call and would leave you there without a word.

"Y/n he told me he'd hurt you, I'm so sorry but I was too weak to face him. And what you had to face Y/n, It hurts me. Even the simple thought of it. I shouldn’t even be allowed to ask for your forgiveness. When you said you had cancer, I broke down right there. I hated myself, I hated that I wasnt there when you found out, tha- that i wasnt there to comfort you. And that I was pushing you away when you were trying to tell me. But I couldn't hate myself when I tried to save you from my life. After you stopped visiting me I broke the relationship with my father, I did regret not being able to do it before but only after all the damage was I able to trick him in a contract. Even after all the crying, breaking relationships and running i still couldn't let you come near me again and risk you getting hurt again."

"I am a terrible person who will just hurt you..."

Yoongis' voice, strained fron tears slowly faded away at the last sentence because of the emotional atmosphere. Now yoongi was shaking and crying on your shoulder while you whispered comforting words to him. The room was filled with his muffled sobs and your breaking voice softly soothing him.

When he finally looked at you and locked eyes he spoke the words you had wanted to hear from all these years.

"I love you, very much. And I dont want to loose you. You're my heartbeat, without you...without you I'm nothing."

Yoongi noticed you wincing before you spoke what he was dying to hear.

"I love you yoongi and I always will."

That was the last thing yoongi heard from you because at this moment a nurse rushed in pushing Yoongi aside. Soon the whole assigned crew was there for you. A doctor shouted something and Yoongi couldnt process what was happening. He was asked to step outside and he did, he watched you from outside the door.

It was that day when yoongi saw how weak you were.

He saw the doctors rushing inside the room, nurses searching for something and you just lay there looking at him.

He saw the way you slighty raised your hand at the direction of the door.

The way the tears rolled down your cheeks.

How the light was slowly leaving your eyes.

And how you mouthed your last 'I love you' for him and the person standing next to him. Next to yoongi was minji. Crying for she was loosing her friend even before she could properly meet you.

Room No. 42 is known as the room of death and rebirth. A room where Yoongi and Minji lost someone they both dearly loved that day.

•Five years later•

Yoongi was now standing at the Gwanghwamun Gate of the Gyeongbokgung Palace. A place you had always wanted to visit with him.

Taking a deep breath in he closed his eyes and imagined you standing next to him, laughing loudly and holding his hand.

Yoongi may have lost you but you were still with him because whenever he used to close his eyes he would see your beautiful face.

He lived now just for you.

He worked just for you.

He was now travelling place to place visiting countries you both wanted to do together by earning money from a job he had always wanted. He knew you'd be upset if he didn't live a little for himself too so Yoongi tried his best to be happy.

You were the love of his life and you would always be.

Minji on the other hand was now a successful doctor.

And there was not a second gone without her thinking about you.

She helped cancer patients.

Saving those like you.

To her, you were her soulmate and she would always remember you.

She like Yoongi, must have lost you but you were always with her.

wow...what an episode..didn’t see any of this coming! theme: Secrets

Momiji & Tohru: the cheerful bunny is holding a sad secret! he’s hated by his mom to the extend of her choosing death than to be with him. His mom might’ve suffered from a postpartum depression. I’ll focus on momiji. I’d say he handled the situation the best way possible. It’s clear his dad loved him truly. he explained the situation honestly. one might think it is cruel move, but he was honest with momiji, his mom needs to erase him to live. momiji’s cooperation is needed, otherwise her memory might return. it is so sad & tragic. but momiji was surrounded with love from his father & hatori, while no love can replace a mother’s love, momiji’s outlook helped him deal with it. Unlike tohru, momiji is not wearing masks. he is at peace with his past as much as he could possibly be. He doesn’t hold a grudge against her, cherished his memories, moving on with his life, playing, laughing & adamant to make happy memories with others. he freely cries, laughs & smiles when he means it. while he still wishes for her to acknowledge him, he is not living in the past. Tohru on the other hand....is still grieving..all alone..not allowing anyone to see..in her mind, her mom is alive..the memories are treasure that must never be forgotten, therefore, she must talk abt her mom all the time. unlike momiji, tohru is still in the past.

Kyo & tohru: wow..What on earth..Give me kyo’s inner thoughts now!! Give this boy a monologue, please!!! I’m so shocked!!! yuki had 2 minutes of monologue about tohru’s past months. but kyo none for suspense reasons.. damn you good show!! I didnt expect this from you, show! lol..sigh.. Kyo’s face has always been the door to his heart. His face was in pain the entire time..he looked hesitant, sad, hurt, angry, even tohru noticed..hana said he was filled with regret & chaos & he had to be dragged to pray with them..He apologized to tohru!! ..why?? i’m so scared to guess..The entire episode is about mothers..I’d have guessed he remembered his own mother or sth if he didn’t apologize to tohru.. but it has to be about her mother... I cant think of anything else.. Tohru’s mom died in accident.. how can kyo be involved with that?? kyo didn’t know tohru before.. he met her in shigure’s house when he broke the roof.. & now he feels guilty about her mother who was dead before the story starts & before kyo & tohru met?? My brain hurts...my heart hurts..how tragic is it for kyo to be involved in kyoko’s death.. how tragic is that for tohru.. kyo, who would endure yuki for tohru, is involved in kyko’s death?.. maybe the apology for something else...otherwise..man...i don’t want kyo to fall in love with tohru cuz this would be so so so dad..even tho it is clear he is.. heck even Outani mentioned kyo confessing his love one day..other characters see right thro him..ouch..

-Side note: so, yuki was the boy with the hat, hmm.. i remember tohru telling her story to hana & Outani. This means yuki knows young tohru?But tohru doesn’t remember him. perhaps memory erase by hatori..interesting...but the hat is not important now..why kyo apologized!! TELL ME. LET KYO SPEAK.

- a Another side note: the apology scene was epic. I really thought that he was kissing her at first..& i was shocked thinking: “oh this escalated quickly” only to be 10000 times shocked & things DO escalate to infinity & beyond..

So I wrote down my thoughts as i watched through most of Season 2 of Scooby Doo Mystery Inc, and would like to share them, major spoilers below cut

Notes of Season 2 of Scooby Mystery Inc Shout out to this jock bully(?) who upon encountering a monster threatening a girl, did no hesitate to take on said monster, recuse said girl, and protect her as they escape Fred really needs to talk to someone about his new parents, who are now living in his house with him???? The house of the man who took him from them?????? Bronson might not be exactly straight looking at how he acted around the old mayor vs the new one, but *shrugs* Jock Strikes again, is this gunna be the twist? That''s a really douchy twist to pull a stunt like this Love how-I mean this is just the plan. He wanted girls too so he set up the same scenario. Is this extra set up by the parents to get him to trust them that is some next level douchery/ Scratch that on Bronson, omg Oh shit starting with a furry attack this is going to be a weird episode the gang's meta knowledge coupled with their sure willingness to go along with tropes and shit makes for great dialogue oh *oh* this is the episode where we get a peak to see just how big the picture is, love the lore building. knew this episode was gunna be good is that a demon? the furry isnt the mosnter??? ummm...weve been getting hints, are things getting real? so we've established motive for why someone whould want this plavce closed, but actually tangent but dont a lot of these monsters that they encounter seem like, weirdly powerful and mobile for costumes oh there's the furry that red aura is a...the things that happen around it are something deeper it seems. fascinating. is the red just representative of fire hallucinations? those seemed a bit real in effect for hallucinations... this guy, like my manager, needs to hire a little more staff occult magic book falls from the library to gang, and no one is as concerned as they should be nazi robot nazi robot get BJ on the phone Cassidy is the kinda retired PC that the players can strive to be Shit is getting real quick isnt it. Wait is that a seal. does Cassidy die? I know about a certain other death that makes me sad, but i dont want Cassidy to die too this episode is a rollercoaster of odd events weird hologram disguise for Paraclese is nifty Seeing the tragic fate of past groups is...well obviously sad oh dear, she does die huh its super low key, but it plays at the terrifying corrupting ordeal of the eldritchstuff really well with the lore notes bear troubles oh that badge...is that where they buried him? that's...kinda grim they have stealth suits and killer nazi robots? why have the evil guys not won yet? there is a bomb and they are not evacuating. There is a BOMB and they are not evacuating oh the bear can talk, how dare i assume that a bear is incapable of speech the bear is a twunk, scratch that, still a bear, is...he doing a christiphor walkin impersonation? aaand that’s enough for tonight, starting fresh later We're back, 13 more episodes oh so were getting into why i don’t like astrology Enigma machine omg. sorry, im a sucker for bits like that i wanna have long white hair too, i could rock that look How does Paraclese still have an accent after all these years? It is like destiny's Rasputin and just a stubborn superiority complex? something about visiting villains you can talk to in a prison is-ohp thats just all of um huh, cameo episode- err, anyways, it just paints a delightful scene about the relationship of the protags and antags and villainy as a whole in the world well this is horrific, throw some brownish red stuff around and it would be a silent hill scene update: still gay Thirteen more episodes and they have the disk...that does not bode well for what is going to happen the writer's willingness to reference other hannah barbara characters/shows is great oooo anticaptilism, BF is scoring points excuse me???? cyborg dragon girl???? he cant even call her by her name through most of the episode wtf??????? see now im at the point i gotta ask, is this a real ghost thing, or a fake ghost thing? ah i understand now youd think he would be more willing to explain to th-there we go so the animal companians are more suceptible, but they all have the risk Paraclese talking about these cattle is every gm talking about their homebrew monsters omg writers wth was that conclusion for the cattle im dying sk-ska zombies. ska. zombies. i can pick it up oh like the dancing plauge but worse, nifty these ghosts are rude boys, like, thats actually one of their names. And just caught that it the band name is skatastic oh they mentioned the dancing plauge, thank you wtf 101 the 'lighthearted' tone of this episode speaks dark tidings about the horrors to come aaah, hex girls, omg oh damn, update again: still hella gay bards duels be like, but for real loving this more and more young me is crazy about having the hex girls interact with a magicy thing like the disks, the rest of me is concerned at the events that are taking place scooby agrees, and his dog girl friend...well that was something Ricky displaying increasing regrets is not going to do good things for his lifeespectancy ohp then he drags in the other two well, i didnt see that coming for the criminal identity this little girl just had her mom ditch her for a stranger that robbed them, the heck i should probably eat dinner at some point, or like, anything at somepoint... calling it now, this guy is a circus performer/stunt driver, and if he is the random hired british poolboy it is a fake accent he's lureing women away with emotional intemacy. thats funny in itself, btu that they accept so readily still isnt normal oh and apparently kinks, lured with kinks so hes going to be the librarian dude then?? maybe? k, so at least i got that o.o O.O, well, that was quite the lead up and explanation food on plate, depresso in heart, ready to continue so they have to know right? like, this is a planned trap since Fred is 'the only one who knows where it is' doesnt explain Fred though, or how the fake acts "jeepies you found my scarf" oh there it is, they are after the info from him and its all fake, not some hell vision to show why he has to suceed Fred knew first? good on him plastic surgery, holy crap, next level villainy here holy shit they're all in puragoty thanks to the corrpution?????? Going back to early about the horrifying nature of all this. it is just so immensly sad watching them go through these bits. Cool, but sad. Velma demonstrating why thinking and understanding are not always good in eldritch horror games so he's got a guilt complex? heart felt talk with Mayor Dad awwww, poor Velma doesnt think she's pretty guessing...well id say the wife of Enrique but that seems too easy some how, stiill shes the only offered suspect beside Enrique himself thus far *deep sigh* i will never guess any culprit i bother to write down correctly would be a real move of the writers to Uzumaki the town two day deadline given, props to velma for having the foresight to model the disks in a digital format incase theyre lost mad max mystery machine sounds like a doom metal synth wave fusion song things are going too well... How many giant evil doors will this lair have? alchemy. of course. should have guessed. is...is this the episode where Marcie...oh no oh at least shes trying good on her, she's going down in style and flame... oh. ya know, even knowing it was coming and talking it up a sentence before, not a happy event this is a nifty dungeon last episode, hell of an opening/recap wh-what fghaseguk this went batshit didnt it. i wish i had the willingness to write at unhinged as these writers one more media that i am surpised didnt end in a poly relationship this climax is eerily familiar to the live action movies at times and then they all died and went to heaven aww Rickee and Cassidy *and* Velma and Marcie, aww, my heart will heart to think about that one for long, but awwwww Miskatonik University, or however the heck it is said. i thought it was going to be a one off joke but wasn't expecting that.

Roger Taylor has barely spoken two words to you since the start of filming, and it’s caused you so much anxiety. Were you disappointing? Did you not look or act accurate enough? Sometimes you catch him watching you when you’re with Ben, the two of you in costume, and he just looks... pensive. 

Brian’s nice enough, soft spoken and always kind when he speaks to you, actually mentions that seeing you and Ben together makes him a bit nostalgic, and you’re not quite sure what to make of it. 

The day you see the real Amanda, the woman you’re playing, you feel like you’re about to pass out. It’s as if you’ve got a direct look into your future, she could be your mother, though her hair’s just a little lighter than yours, hence the wigs they keep putting you in. She’s incredibly beautiful for her age, but that’s not the most striking thing about her. She cries the first time she sees Rami in costume, and she doesn’t speak to Roger. 

The moment she meets you, she has to take almost a full minute, hand covering her mouth as she looks you over. It’s like a test, and all you can do is stand there awkwardly in full costume, watching as she tears up a little.

“What do you think?” Brian asks with a proud smile, and she lets out an incredulous laugh. “It’s a little uncanny, isn’t it?” Nodding, she approaches you, smiling brightly and greeting you warmly. 

“Feels like I’ve gone back in time.” She’s surprisingly soft spoken, and she tugs at your collar, straightening it, before she rests her hands on your shoulders. “I’m flattered they’ve got you playing me, dear.” She tells you, and you think you might cry.

She only stays on set for about a week, the week you’re filming on the Garden Lodge set. The two of you are talking before filming starts for the day, you’re trying to glean any information you can that would help bring depth to your character, and Ben joins you. It’s the first time she’s seen him in full costume, and when he presses a kiss to your temple in greeting, her voice dies in her throat. Ben looks confused, concerned as she has to excuse herself.

It keeps happening, something about seeing the two of you in costume, together and sweet, it’s something she can’t stomach. She can talk to Ben normally, even when in costume, but the moment you arrive, and he smiles at you like he does, she feels her heart in her throat.

“I loved Roger, perhaps to my detriment.” She admits, taking a long sip of wine. She’d invited you out to dinner with her before she has to fly back to her family. “And I know what they’re saying in the movie, but he never really loved me.”

When you go to Ben with this information, he’s quiet, before he admits that Roger told him that when they were younger, their relationship was far from the sanitised version that was being presented in the film. 

They’d been together for years, and there was no doubt in anyone’s mind that she loved him, and he took her for granted, always assumed she’d be there when he got back from trips and tours, he’d even proposed to her, and yet he’d do any pretty young girl while he was away because he knew he could get away with it. He’d cheated on her, and lied to her, and strung her along because it was easier than letting go. 

Roger Taylor can’t bring himself to speak to you; you’re the spitting image of his biggest fault. Perhaps the way they’ve got it in the movie is his attempt at an apology, not that she’d accept. 

Something about your relationship with Ben changes after that. It doesn’t feel like a performance, the way it used to, it feels more grounded. Neither of you are sure how to deal with the new information, but when the cast go out for dinner together, he’s got a hand on your knee under the table, and when you’re hanging out in his trailer between scenes, you let yourself fall asleep against him where you’re watching Netflix. The two of you go out with some of the others for the night, and he kisses you as you’re leaving the club together, his hands holding your face so softly, the kiss so surprisingly tender that you don’t even hear the click of the paparazzi’s camera from where they’re hiding around the corner of the building, and when you see the kiss on instagram the next day, you don’t think you care.

“Have you seen my nice, black blouse?” You called, elbow deep in a pile of clean washing on a Saturday morning.

“Which one?” Ben calls back from the shower, and you frown at the clothes before you; you really had meant to fold them sooner.

“The nice nice one, the one I wear for callbacks, you know the one I’m talking about.” And you move to rifle through the closet again, glaring at each piece of clothing as you flip past it.

“You sure it’s here?” The shower shuts off while you’re eyeing off a perfectly fine cream shirt that could serve as a decent replacement if you came to it. “Are you sure it’s not at your place?” He asks, stepping out of his adjoining bathroom wearing only a towel.

“No, I’m pretty sure I came back here after my last callback.” You mused, and you could hear him getting changed behind you as you tried to recall the last time you’d found yourself in the shirt in question.

“This would be easier if you just lived here.” He muses, letting the statement hang in the air. After a beat, you turn to look at him, brow creased as you considered his words. “If you want to, you can.” He offered, standing there in just a pair of jeans, his hair still damp. It might be the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen.

“Are you serious?” Voice quietly hopeful, your expression brightens as he nods, grinning. Blouse forgotten, you cross the room in a few paces, throwing your arms around him. “Really really?”

“‘course I am.” He doesn’t tell you he loves you, but it’s there in the tone, in the way he kisses you, and it’s there when he spends the next twenty minutes helping you look for your shirt, though when you admit you don’t need it for a few days, he suggests breaking in the bed to fill the time.

“It’s the same bed.” You laugh as he flops back on it, coaxing you over.

“Yeah, but it’s ours.”

The wrap party for Bohemian Rhapsody is... a lot. It’s a bit overwhelming; you’re by Ben’s side and everyone wants to talk to him, congratulate him, and they want to talk to you, tell you how beautiful you look. Everyone is everywhere at all times, and the only constant is Ben. 

His arm is around your waist when the two of you are standing by the bar, he’s chatting to someone who’s name you’ve forgotten, though you’re pretty sure he’s the second assistant director or something, and you’re trying to communicate to the bartender what you want over the music, leaning over the bar. The moment the bartender finally nods in recognition and scurries off to get your drink, Ben turns, sees your eyes shining bright in the light of bar, and he forgets what he’s saying, just for a moment. The guy he’s talking to leaves, pulled away by someone in the crowd, and you turn, smiling brightly, confusion creasing your brow when you see Ben watching you.

“What?” The bar is in a terrible location, far too close to the band they’ve got set up, but Ben can read your lips well enough in the bar’s fluorescent lights. He shrugs, doesn’t even attempt to answer as the band, not ten feet away, blast their way through a guitar solo. They’re mostly playing classic rock, a few Queen songs here and there of course, and they’re not bad, they’re just loud. 

With your drink in one hand, you take his without thinking, weaving through the crowd, his fingers linked with yours. When you find the door to the courtyard, which is significantly quieter, you feel like you can breathe again. The air outside is cool, and you drop Ben’s hand now that you’re not likely to lose him in the crowd, and the two of you find seats to the side by a tall table. 

“You don’t have to stay with me all night.” You tell him, resting your head on your arms, watching as he lights up a cigarette. It was a filthy habit, but damn if it didn’t make him look a hot. Hotter. 

“I know that, dude,” he pauses, taking a draft and looking, watching all the people talking and laughing and bopping along to the music, “I like your company.” He says it easily but it still has you grinning, and when he catches sight, he grins in return.

He doesn’t leave your side. Not for the rest of the night. 

Photographs are being take all night, and when you look back on them, you see you and Ben sitting side by side, his arm around you as you lean into him, laughing, and he grins at something off camera. You see the cast together for a group shot, all smiling brightly, most a little tipsy, and you’re holding Ben’s hand, your linked fingers just visible in a gap between Allen and Lucy. You see the two of you in the background of a shot of Rami looking absolutely ecstatic; you’re fixing Ben’s hair, and he’s giving you such a soft, endeared look that you hadn’t noticed at the time. If you crop it enough to make it your phone background, you don’t feel the need to call attention to it; for reasons you can’t quite articulate, it makes your heart warm.

It’s strange, and the thing that terrifies you is that it doesn’t feel like acting. It’s that grey area you keep finding yourself in, where it feels so familiar, and it’s like swimming upstream to remember that it’s all fake. 

The two of you don’t even share a kiss, not even when you’re both tipsy, not even when you lean in to murmur something in his ear, and his answer brings his lips inches from yours. You want to kiss him, to forget that it’s all fake, but he sees you hesitate, and presses a gentle kiss to your cheek. Lips twisting in to a sad smile, you look out at the crowd of coworkers around you, dancing where the band had been replaced with a DJ, and you take another sip of your drink.

You’ve passed tipsy and dived straight into being drunk by the time you’re ready to head home, or well, back to your hotel room, but that required a taxi. Ben’s not much better off, and when you tug him into the back seat with you, he doesn’t argue. He’s the one who tells the driver the hotel they’ve got you all set up in, and you just lean against him, eyes fluttering closed, contentment filling you as he wraps his arm around you. 

“I don’t have any makeup wipes!” You gasp into the silence of the hotel elevator. It feels like the most natural thing in the world to head to his room, your arm tucked into his to keep you from swaying in place in the elevator. It might also be that Ben refused to let you be by yourself after you almost face planted getting out of the taxi.

“I’ve got some in case of emergencies.” He assured, fidgeting with his key card before the elevator comes to a stop.

“See, this is why I love you.” The words come so easily that neither of even catch at first as you make your way down the hall. Ben slows once your words have sunk in, and you both realise what you’d said. “I didn’t mean it like that, I’m sorry.” Voice quiet, there’s a sudden sinking sensation in your chest that dampens the whole night for you, but he doesn’t say anything, just opens the door and starts rummaging through his suitcase for the wipes once he’s inside. Once he tosses them to you, he follows it quickly with an oversized shirt to sleep in. 

There’s a solid five minute argument about who would sleep on the sofa, both of you trying to give the other one the bed. It takes you yanking a pillow from the bed, laying on the sofa and refusing to move for Ben to concede defeat. The sofa, however, is the single most uncomfortable piece of furniture you’ve ever had the misfortune of trying to sleep on. Sucking up your pride, you clutch the pillow to your chest as you make your way to the edge of the bed. He’s turned away from you, engrossed in his phone.

“Ben?” You ask, and he looks over his shoulder at you, eyebrows raised in question. “The sofa is really uncomfy.” You pouted. With a grin, he shifted, making room for you.

“Holy shit.” Ben looks like he’s just seen a ghost. The two of you are in a nice restaurant in the city, it’s not five stars or anything like that, actually it happened to be your favourite little hole-in-the-wall restaurant with surprisingly good food and excellent service, and you were treating yourselves to a night out before Ben had to step outside to take a call. You didn’t begrudge him, that’s just how life was for the two of you. “Holy shit.” He repeated, and you looked up from your meal with raised eyebrows. 

“What’s up?” You ask, and to see the smile spreading slowly over his face has your heart warming. When he meets your eyes, he’s beaming.

“I think I’m going to be in X-Men.” He said quietly, and your fork fell from your hand, clattering against your plate.

“Holy shit.” You echoed, and he laughed a little, taking your hand when you offered it to him, squeezing gently. 

The stars seem to shine a little brighter as Ben beams up at them, your hand in his as the two of you walk home. Sure, there’s paperwork, nondisclosure agreements, rehearsals, and a few months until filming actually begins, but Ben’s landed a role in a high-budget action movie, and you’ve never been prouder. 

He spends the next few weeks in countless meetings, almost constantly in and out of phone calls with his manager and various producers, and when he’s not filming with Eastenders, he was usually training. He’s barely home, though neither of you are home a lot, you’re busy with your own projects, but when you see each other, he’s elated. You haven’t seen him this excited or motivated about a project before. 

Sometimes you miss him. Of course you miss him, you love him after all, he’s your boyfriend and your housemate, and you tell him all of this over dinner and he looks like he wants to say something, like he wants to freeze this moment in time forever, to bottle it up if he could.  You’re so proud, and you love him so much, and it’s the most beautiful thing in the world to watch those two parts of you coming together over a microwave dinner.

In the weeks leading up to filming, things change, and you feel like you never see him anymore. It’s not like before, then you were just busy, now he’s all over the country, in meetings and fittings and workshops. He calls, but your bed is so empty and sometimes you just want to come home to him and he’s not there, and he won’t be home until the end of the week. Things are still good and bright when you see each other - he’s always eager to make up for lost time - and you never once doubt how much he cares about you, but you feel... out of sync. 

The two of you had fallen asleep not facing each other, but you wake with his arm draped across you, and it feels so familiar, so right, that it stings when you actually come to and realise where you are. 

It’s been years since you’d woken up next to him, and you’d forgotten how pretty he is in his sleep. Part of you thinks that’s a good thing, that if you start to remember now you might keep dwelling. Another part of you urges you to go back to sleep; pretend or not, you should savour this moment you’ve missed so dearly. That’s the part that wins.

You expect when you wake again, for him to already be up and moving, as far away from you as possible, but instead you hear a sleep-rough greeting in your ear, and feel his chest firm against your back, his arm still around you where you’ve tucked yourself against him.

It’s not pretend, it feels like history repeating itself, and so you let yourself forget it’s fake for the moment, lean into him just a little and give a sleepy greeting back. Your heart already aches knowing how lonely you’ll feel once either of you move.

“I forgot how nice you smell.” He murmured, and that’s when you feel your heart already beginning to break. Instead of letting yourself crumble, your link your fingers with his hand where it’s slung over your waist.

“I forgot how warm you are; you’re like a furnace.” And you hear him laugh at that as he leans into you too, and let yourself bask in the moment.

Sorry this is long but,

I don’t get how people can be SO invested in a show and then drop it so suddenly. I ship Malex, for sure, but I also like a little drama and I’m open to new ships. (Makes watching a show a tad more fun tbr) People who think that Malex is dead really don’t understand how a story works, let alone a CW drama. After all Michael and Alex have said to, and about, each other there is no way that they are over. They are STARTING over. They definitely need to work on communication bc even tho Alex said he wanted to start over, he bolted after Michael told him he wanted to leave the planet. Rightfully so, but how is Michael supposed to interpret that? You think he automatically got “he loves me so much he can’t deal that I’m leaving?” um no. He isn’t the mind reader of the Pod Squad. So yea, Michael thinks they are done romantically and are trying to be friends. And he caught some feelings for Maria. A love triangle will probably ensue but that does not mean that it won’t circle back around to Malex at some point. I mean damn, it basically has to with all the weight they put on the relationship and Roswell apparently has a 5 season plan?

When Michael told Maria that he and Alex were over in the Crashdown, to me, that was more to make her feel like she didn’t do anything wrong. Not an “Alex and I are over so lets try this out.” I feel like a lot of you are taking it that way and ??? Also Michael is a caring person. I really believe if it were Isobel, he would have laid her on his leg and stroked her hair the same way he did Maria. He cares about her and he would act that way with anyone he cares about.  I’m not saying he hasn’t developed feelings for her but he never said anything in that scene about feelings. He made a face after she said she never wants him to go but I can’t read what it meant. I also don’t think Michael is a trash person if he did develop feelings for Maria. He and Alex have been over for MONTHS and they never were in an actual relationship to start with. Yes their love is cosmic but what is Michael supposed to do, wait forever? Lets be honest here, Alex has hurt him (i dont think he really meant to, he has his own shit to deal with) and has left him/told him it was over plenty of times. Michael seemed ready to go all in but Alex has his hesitations. Which is fine. I am in no way trying to make Alex the bad guy here.

Lets talk about that museum scene again. Maria said that she didnt want Michael to leave with a tear rolling down her cheek. How can you guys think she is a bad friend? She is holding back feelings for this guy bc of her best friend. She has told Michael over and over that they are not going to happen, much to her sadness. This could be a real thing between M&M and she’s sad that she probably won’t get a chance to explore it. Honestly if this whole thing became real between Michael and Maria and Alex saw how strong their feelings were, as a good friend, he would tell them that they should go for it. 

Also gotta say, I kinda loved the M&M content we are seeing. I mean they are cute together you can’t deny.

Alex and Michael shouldn’t get together until they have hashed out their individual and combined issues and that probably won’t happen in two episodes. It would feel rushed if it did. They have a long way to go I think and I believe they will get there. If they don’t tho it will be fun to see a new love interest for Alex, which he better get if he and Michael don’t work out.

Tldr: Relax guys! Malex will come back around and if it doesn’t then they each will get new love interests. Just have fun and let it ride.

11. Do they get married? Who proposes and how?

Okay so Paige and AJ are JUST friends. I mean, technically, they are BARELY even friends. So they are absolutely NOT in love. That’s ridiculous. Actually, Paige just finds AJ really annoying, but AJ like...won’t leave her alone. So, they hang out or whatever. But not because Paige WANTS to. It’s like...forced on her, alright? Back off. 

So, anyways they’ve been kinda friends (NOT in love though) for years. And all of the sudden AJ is pestering her every day about how AJ is lonely and sad when she goes back home. And they should just move into together. Because Paige flies home with AJ more than she goes to her own home (Paige would argue this was not true...she could be wrong). And they are best friends so they would be great roommates. So, after weeks of constant badgering, Paige is like ugh okay fine whatever. Let’s live together. And AJ is happy and excited and kisses Paige on the cheek which is gross and DOESN’T feel nice.

And then AJ is like ok! Let’s pack your stuff and move into my place in Colorado. And Paige is like...don’t you live in New Jersey?? And AJ is like nope ! Moved to Colorado a month ago. Which is exactly when AJ started pestering Paige about moving into together. Which is weird. And makes Paige a little paranoid but whatever fine. Paige doesn’t really care where they live because they’ll be on the road most of the time anyway.

So they move in together in Colorado. And it’s kind of weird. I mean, Paige and AJ aren’t there often. But whenever they are, all the couples in the apartment complex wanna go out with them? And it’s very double date like but AJ assures Paige that everyone knows it’s not. But AJ always grabs Paige’s hand on the not double dates and clings to her and kisses her cheek again. Which is all gross and weird...but Paige just doesn’t push her off because hurting AJ is basically just kicking a puppy. And Paige doesn’t wanna look at her dumb completely NOT cute pouty face.

But everyone in the entire complex is ALSO really weird. They stop her in the hallways and are like “How are you and AJ doing? Still happy? Going strong?” And like...why are these people so intense about roommates?? Paige just lives with AJ. And travels with her. And works with her. And spends almost all of her time with her. But none of that involves sex so they clearly are not dating. And sex with AJ? Ew no no no. Paige is NOT attracted to her. She’s especially not attracted to AJ when she climbs into Paige’s bed at night in extremely tiny shorts and insists they need to cuddle and- whatever okay she doesn’t need to justify herself to you

But then she’s walking back to their apartment with food from AJ’s favorite takeout place one day and their neighbor stops Paige and tries to have a conversation with her. Which is mostly just annoying bc Paige is hungry and also AJ is waiting for her and this is supposed to be their last night at home before going back on the road. But anyways Paige is half listening to this lady when she suddenly asks “How is your wife doing?” And Paige is like great this woman doesn’t even know who she is. So Paige is like “Oh, you must be mistaking me for someone else. I’m Paige. I live in this apartment right here.” And the woman laughs “Oh yes. With your wife! Short one, quirky but very sweet.” Paige freezes and is like “excuse me a moment.”

And then rushes inside her apartment. AJ sees her and grabs the food and kisses her on the cheek. And Paige just stares at her in disbelief. And finally forces out “Why did our neighbor think we’re married?” And instantly AJ drops the food on the counter and freezes. Paige can already feel a migraine coming on. AJ slowly turns around and laughs “About that” and then makes a run for the door. But Paige grabs her by the waist before she can escape and wrestles her down to the couch.

And what follows is the most insane story Paige has ever heard in her entire life. AJ was...trying to common law marry Paige....behind her back. Without telling her!!! Without dating her!! AJ has been trying to MARRY her for MONTHS. She told Paige that she did research and in Colorado the requirements for common law marriage are cohabitation (check), a reputation of being married (check...thanks to AJ telling everyone in their apartment complex of their common law marriage), conduct which demonstrates intent (okay how the HELL did AJ file their taxes as joint MARRIED and Paige DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT IT), and the final one being consent. AJ said she had everything but the last one, which she was working on.

Paige sits on the couch in disbelief, frozen still for an entire 15 minutes. No movement. No speaking. Just staring at the wall. AJ is... she’s CRAZY. She’s INSANE. What the HELL is wrong with her??? Paige is just going to stand up, pack her things, and move the hell out of this apartment. Get the hell out of here while she still can...Wait why isn’t she standing?? GET UP. LEAVE. GET OUT OF HERE. FREE YOURSELF WOMAN.

But the only thing Paige can do is turn and look at AJ. Who is staring at her worriedly with tears in her eyes. Nervously playing with her hair, but eyes never wavering from Paige’s. 

Oh God. Why. Why Why Why

Paige kisses her.

14. Are there any love rivals?

Paige hates CM Punk with a burning fiery passion. Because AJ has this almost hero worship, mentor relationship with him going on. “Oh Punk is so funny. He’s so smart. Did you watch his match last night? Pipebomb pipebomb pipebomb.” If Paige hears “Punkie” one more time she’s gonna punch a hole through a wall.

AJ does not do all of this on purpose because Paige is hot when she’s jealous. And Punk is definitely not in on it (he is. They’re both evil shits).

17. Describe or write a really fluffy scene.

I’m going to save writing an entire Paige/AJ scene later. Although that day might very well come. But not today. Because my marriage description answer was already too god damn long sdlsd

Here’s a description of After Paige Finds Out about the common law marriage. After Paige composes herself, she gives AJ a long, emphatic lecture about how it’s wrong to marry people without their permission and shouldn’t you already be aware of this?? And AJ very seriously listens to her the entire time, looking like she’s absorbing information she’s never heard of before in her entire life. And at the end AJ is just like “Gotcha. No more marrying you behind your back. Makes sense.” And Paige is like how the hell do I wanna kiss this girl right now and not get a restraining order??

But she DOES just want to kiss AJ. And sitting here thinking about it? Okay she also probably wants to hold AJ’s hand more and go on (real) dates and buy AJ chocolate on Valentine’s Day and not ever move out. All the gross disgusting couple stuff. Oh and sex. Yeah absolutely she wants sex. 100%. 

So after finishing her lecture she asks AJ out on their first official date. And AJ squeals loudly and literally leaps in Paige’s arms, legs wrapped tightly around her waist. And Paige closes her eyes and tries to clear every single dirty thought out of her mind. Because they haven’t even been on a date yet, and Paige knows how to treat a woman.

So Paige plans out the date and they get ready in their separate rooms. And Paige snuck out earlier that day and bought AJ this comic series she knows AJ has been wanting for weeks. So she knocks on AJ’s room door and hands AJ the comics. And AJ geeks out and Paige is barely able to stop her from canceling the date to hide away in her room until she’s read the entire series. Then, AJ kisses her in thanks and Paige can feel herself grinning like an idiot. She schools her features back into place bc she’s not some schoolgirl with a crush here. 

Paige takes AJ to an arcade and AJ is like an excited kid. Literally, she spends part of the night actually playing an actual child at airhockey and losing (on purpose to make the kid smile). And Paige plays games with her too but watches her sometimes. And it’s fun. But God...AJ is so beautiful. The night is perfect. AJ has a blast. And she’s carrying around the biggest armful of tickets in the entire place. She’s passing by kids who are staring at her tickets in literal awe.

Then...before they get to the counter. A fan comes up. She’s a little girl. Maybe around 7. And her Mom says she’s AJ’s biggest fan. And AJ grins so wide and shoves all her tickets into Paige’s arms. She scoops the girl up into a hug and excitedly starts talking to her. Even though they were about to leave, AJ plays a few games with the girl and then takes a picture with her. Gives her one last hug. Then walks over to Paige. She takes her tickets back. But then she walks back over to the girl and gives the girl all of her tickets.

The Mom is beyond thankful and the little girl looks at AJ like she’s her superhero. And then AJ walks with her to the counter. The little girl happily gets one of the biggest prizes on the shelf and thanks AJ with the tiniest, cutest voice Paige thinks she’s ever heard. The Mom and daughter leave after that and AJ skips back over to Paige happily and kisses her on the cheek. She asks if Paige is still ready to go and Paige just stares at her and nods dumbly.

AJ smiles and grabs her hand, tugging her out of the arcade. On the way back, AJ mentions how cute the girl was but says nothing else about it. Instead she talks happily about how much fun the night was with Paige and how perfect of a first date it was. 

And Paige drives the car trying her best to listen. But the only thing she can think about is how kind AJ was to that little girl. And how she doesn’t think a single other person on the WWE roster (herself included) would have done all that. And AJ did it without a single hesitation. When she didnt have to. God help her.

This woman is absolutely crazy. But...maybe.. it wouldn’t be so bad to be married to her after all..

so the episode opens with a fight scene. sweet! cool! but its so badly staged, sometimes you have no idea what is happening the first time round. it’s crowded and messy, not a very good look? im talking about grim being hid behind ice while the camera is panning and hitting some trees when we’re literally panning out to show someone else in focus DESPITE THE FACT THEIR MITIGATION SHOULD BE FRONT AND CENTER TO LET US KNOW IT HAPPENED CLEARLY. legit! there’s the one where nora shoots at a grim and the shell explodes into black dust and the grim is gone. did it die? grim dont usually die by fuckin smoke but this one sure fuckin did i guess ‘cause i literally dont know what happened to it? no recoil and fall, just deleted and hid behind some 2d-lookin smoke! sure! why not?!?!!!?

then there was the “adam ruins everything” segment where he literally just murders? everyone? like i get that its off screen for the younger audiences but also like he fucking murders everyone. literally! did i miss something? is it a good tactic now? did they think it was very villainous of him to murder people??????? god bring me back to the beginning when he actually has a good character reason for why faunus would follow him into revolution because this adam taurus is so bad he’s worth flushing down the drain for.

wait why is this scene even second? that’s a really awkward position to put it in the whole episode? honestly? like it kinda underlines how awkward a villain adam really is; it has no build up, no reason to be there. sure, the audience is hungry to know what happened to adam, but there’s legitimately no reason to put it as the second scene in the episode, there’s no context??????

there are two bodyguards for the train. two? two. and for some reason they’re asking for dlc to provide more/personal protection? hello, did i miss something? anyone thought it was a good idea? what class of transportation did they get? if it was dangerous enough that on a train ride they’d need people to guard the journey it wouldn’t even be built there? or what, did they get a max-luxury, train ride with insurance kinda deal? and it had two (2) bodyguards? two (2)!!!!! or was it in the middle of the road??? i may have enough context for the environment but none on economy of this place i swear

“hey ladies we’ll protect you wink” jaune and lie ren literally sitting one (1) feet away not saying anything, could be everyone’s moment to justify “hey we’re literally huntsman despite being kids, we know what we’re doing” but qrow has to step in and apparently his  credentials would ward off some bodyguards???? like “hi yes sorry im the dad of literally 8 kids, i can protect them all” not a convincing argument here bud

illia deserves more time on screen and also closure because neptune fuckin hit on her and that’s obviously enough to change scenes right

also neptune being “you really gonna let her go? l:/” feels like he’s salty instead of wukong tbh; wukong feels/sounds like the literal i can do anything kinda guy -- which he is in mythology and probably in universe (except for intelligence i guess, despite the fact he literally outsmarts his opponents through a lot of his mythos) so i dont mind him being let off the hook, but any hesitation implied during this scene? weak

genuine dislike for the tactic of qrow fights the Big Boss and everyone gets a handful of weaklings; to stall? possible. but also just feels like a bad tactic overall? also their animations always look like they’re doing an rpg battle; one ability used + animation! then return to original position. that’s a big fallacy of fighting monty oum style and i genuinely hope they recognize it soon

“YOU’RE ATTRACTING THE GRIM TO THE PASSENGERS” ??? i get the part where leading them to the back of the train may help (having them all divided in sections [grim + hunters, passengers, front of train respectively] may help but how does automation attract grim again? like, turrets shooting at them would do so if they’re in range, and they all came from the back so they’d move along towards the middle, but also they wouldn’t continue moving forward? i guess? what im saying is they should really just be around jnxr + oscar instead of way forward in front

when the bodyguard tried to get into the train and barely made it, that SNAP sound was just. raw. i felt that. good! i was very scared/horrified/eager to see if they’d literally break off his arm and he’d just be lying there in a pool of blood or something in shock. he didnt because of aura and i don’t know what to say because a/ it definitely wouldn’t be a bruise and b/ if he had aura and was in the bodyguarding business, wouldn’t he also have a proper semblance to fight off grim most likely? and he aint using it so why he so confident for dlc earlier the heck

“WHY WON’T YOU TELL US THAT” yang’s line here assumes that they’ve asked about it before and ozpin/oscar refused to answer. i disagree? i think it works better with “WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL US THAT?” because it definitely was a factor they’d all have to take into account with regards to travelling w/ it in the first place. which they are. tbh yang (and jaune in the op) has every right to be mad at him real talk but also change that line please it bothered me so much

blake sees the hooded adam figure and honestly idk what kind of omen that is but it feels/looks weird. another no context scene i guess. tbh id take that one out of this episode entirely and shuffle it next episode probably. (and put the adam ruins everything scene at the back of the episode)

grim stop chasing because tunnel. and then they chase the train through the tunnel really slowly? feels weird but okay i fuckin guess; these are just the things im willing to pass on

ren and jaune look at each other like “lets do it” but why does ren? look up? like there’s no extra effects there, its not visible that he’s trying really hard to extend his semblance out. no cool semblance-using eye powers there. it feels kinda cheap for him to do that w/o any additional highlights that he’s activating his aura? also creepy

OH THERE’S THAT SCENE. yang starts off the Big Fight Montage with grabbing the grimm by its horns and then flips it around. cool move! then she promptly punches it up and closes her eyes. what? tbh that was ridiculously weak after a stupid good setup. budget aside i’d say there was an opportunity for a focused choreograph there; instead of a punch up, use a bullet fire up, keeping the enemy’s front half up in the air for a longer period of time. run under, punch/kick the underbelly, bounce off to the side, bullet fire off the side of the train. 

blake cutting off the tail was a good move. rt studios deciding to change shots when the enemy has the same pose, so that we cut to ruby fighting the same kind of grimm is not. it breaks clarity for the viewers, that’s not how matching cuts should work tbh

these big grimm dying in a couple of hits are also just? kinda weak-feeling. like these characters got stronger from rpg levels, but not from actual combat training and learning to outsmart your enemies, or upgrading your weapons. feels cheap.

ruby bouncing around in attempt to kill these grim is kinda cute? which may be what they were trying to do? but also not well choreographed i guess. it doesn’t flow too well, just bounces in seperate spikes.

when weiss redirects the flying grimm to ruby, it feels like its? not clear what she did. was it a semblance/shield? colour that blue, we know she uses white but white on white doesn’t work out well. ruby’s scythe sinking into the grimm also doesn’t work great because you get confusion when the shot is supposed to show it sink into the grimm, but you cant see the scythe blade sink into it. like you could only get it from context after watching it that she sent the grimm flying by doing the above, but dont recognize the action in the moment.

callout post to yang and blake fuckin shooting at nothing when there’s a clear path/shot to ruby and qrow’s big monster.

fireball just kinda looked cheap. there wasn’t a long breathy build up, and the fireball just feels way too fast (camera or distance?); reasonable that qrow would be hit by it, but cheap-feeling in the sense that it shouldn’t have happened/it felt unfair, that it happened. he should’ve gotten knocked on his ass by power/strength and being caught off guard, and it felt like more like “oh no he got knocked down! D:”

HHHHHH WEISS ICE SKATES TO THE GRIM BUT ITS NOT LIKE YOU PAY ATTENTION BECAUSE SOMETHING ELSE CALLS FOR IT AND THEN SHE LEAPS UP TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE GRIM. SHE’S WHITE, THE BACKGROUND IS WHITE, YOU LOSE SIGHT OF HER, I LEGIT THOUGHT SHE VANISHED BEHIND THE GRIMM BUT IT WOULDNT MAKE SENSE FOR THAT TO HAPPEN. IN THE NEXT SHOT YOU MAY SEE HER AT THE LEFT BUT HER SEMBLANCE IS BLACK TO MAKE HER STAND OUT MORE BUT THEY DIDNT DO THAT FOR THE PREVIOUS SHOT WHY????????

“YANG!” yang promptly bounces off a grimm that isnt shown to have hurt or is dead from the fight and runs off to the bigger grimm as called. understandable, but the other grimm? is just? there? not dead? not doing anything???

also the we need to ground it idea feels really cheap? the grimm isn’t a problem because of its wings, it’s a problem because it’s being dealt with by one (1) person who decides it’s best fighting it on one (1) front vs two on a train. there’s so many ways to tackle this guy! we know qrow’s capable of jumping onto it, but all he’s doing is that, instead of moving to the other side and maybe catching it off guard?????? qrow, fight fucking better.

s/o to qrow/ruby pulling off a move together, cute but also they should’ve been slicing it at different points of the grimm, because they would’ve just died right away if they both went on the same plane? or anywhere near each other? weapons are fucking dangerous we remember right?

okay, so I just watched the Death Note movie and damn that shit was

WILD

so im just going to compile some small notes about how bad and how much they fucked Death Note like fuck man

Please Note: there are going to be elements of spoilers in this list so if you are planning on watching Death Note (2017) be aware (but in all honesty please dont watch it just watch the 2006 Anime Adaptation I beg you, I am doing you a solid)

lets begin

ok so first off, this shit is americanised so of course there is a buttload of whitewashing because if you didnt know Death Note is Japanese and set in Japan and the characters are Japanese - please. 

Light Yagami is a good boy™ so like how dare you make this shitty bad boy - hes doing other peoples homework please no

the Death Note lands right next to him - um no the Death Note lands 10 feet away from Yagami and outside his classroom stop this

also it starts raining right after he picks up the Death Note - spoooky

white!light finds some bullys who are obviously over school age and so he pulls the child abuse card on them if they were to hit him - he gets decked anyway. 

he gets caught with the homework and put into detention and oh no the light went out - creepy factor™ to the max - so spooked 

oh yeah, did i mention that this film is rated an 18 

so of course theres been swearing and cursing from everyone, even Light - sorry not my Light 

best part of the film was white!light shitting himself when he see Ryuk like yes 10/10 A++ content would watch that scene again

white!light also slaps himself and i wanted him to do it more 

theres more swearing, i mean i had to settle in for a wild ride with fucks and shits throughout this whole film, but like the anime was only a 15

Talk to me about Uncharted. You've seen all of them now. How do you like the series as a whole? What was your favorite scene?

Oh man where to start

First of all i want to say, over and over again, how amazing the games are. I was totally speechless at the end of it. I’m literally in love with it. I was having a bad time these days (that’s why i was inactive for a while) and watching the playthrough…idk i felt really happy and full while watching it. Not only because of the commentary of the guy who was playing it but the whole story…it was just so good. It has been so long since i feel that way. But im digressing

World speaking the game developed really well. Loved all the character development Nathan went through. I totally grew fond of him and his attempts to do the right thing. He was really not a bad man, he loves a lot and cares a lot about the people around him. I totally get him. He wanted so much to be better that what people expected from him. He wanted to be a better thief. A better son. A better husband. A better brother. A better version of himself. 

I wont be tired of Uncharted 3 and how there he improved so much. I totally hated Talbot (sorry to the Talbot fans) when he drugged Nathan and made him runaway from Sully and Elena. You can see there a fragile man. He was so scared that he could hurt them he just fled. That reaction was so…visceral. He was totally terrified. That scene was so well done (tbh i really want to play that part so i can feel the heaviness of it tho). 

I’m not sure if the spanish dub changes the sound of teh english one but there’s a part while he is jumping over the boat where his usual groans when he jumps are not groans. Again he is scared. I totally appreciated that because he had been through a lot of stuff and this man is totally tired.

And then the scene with Elena. That freaking scene. 

I.LOVED. THAT.  The soundtrack there…the piano was so sad there i was…man i just….

I’m not gonna deny that i was confused at first of why Elena was so serious at the end of Nathan’s apologize but then I read in the wiki about the ring and that they were already married but because of Nathan they were separated…she just came back again…knowing that this man was only going to hurt himself again…and he came back to her…and the whole apologize gained a bigger meaning because Nathan was not only apologizing for his mistakes in Yemen and losing Sully and bringing Elena into it but…for everything. He realized how wrong he was, how much he was hurting them. That vulnerabilty in that scene…i dig it. I totally dig it and yes it’s my favorite moment in all the games.

My second favorite scene is the eclipse one. Man, holy mother of everything above. The way that happened…how Sully died…it was so cold…and when it was revealed it was just Nathan’s hallucination…one of his biggest fears being that…and the way you had to get though it. Again you are seeing a man scared of himself, that his bigger fear is hurting the one who loved him the most since he was a little kid. The father he never had.

What i like from Uncharted 3 is how the releationship were portrayed. Specially with Sully. He is one of my favorite characters too.

Altho i was a little shocked at the beggining cause the 3d models were a little different, specially for Elena. But i got used to it.

The whole prision thing with Sam and Rafe was really good. Altho i felt sorry for Vargas. tbh i disliked Rafe since that moment (sorry Rafe fans). Showing Sam’s “dead” there too was a really good move cause that added another layer to Nathan’s character and how broken he was (this poor man. he didnt deserve allt he shit he went through)

I totally appreciate Nathan and his efforts to doing, again, the things right? Him denying to do the Malasia job because it was illegal? He grew up so much then? 

I laughed my ass off at the Crash Bandicoot thingy lmao

Then Sam’s returning. And Nathan almost having a heart attack lol. Sigh, but i totally knew he was going to lie to Elena about it. I mean i get why he did it. Doesnt mean I agree with it. I totally was in Sully’s side (Sully is such a good father he loves Nathan and Elena so much?)

I liked knowing more about Nadine. She really wasnt a bad woman she just needed the founds. Bad she trusted the wrong man.

And she was totally right about Rafe wanting to do it just because of Nathan. I mean, he could have easily waited to the auction and then liberating Sam to have the information to get to Libertalia. There was no need to liberate Sam before except that he wanted Nathan to know about it.He wanted Nathan to know that Avery’s cross was there and that he could do nothing about it. But he subestimated Nathan and Sam.

And when Elena knew the whole truth. Man, poor Nathan he was a dead man. Even Sam not knowing Elena knew that his brother was going to be a dead man lol.

Nathan later’s conversation with his brother in Libertalia again showed how much he really wanted to do the right thing. He still loved to go treasure hunting but he wanted to do it the right way. But Sam didnt completly understood it. 

Oh man and when Rafe revealed Nathan the truth about Sam. Again, you can see a broken man right there. He really didnt deserve all that shit. Thank God Elena found him (bless that woman) because Nathan would have never got out of it. I liked how they make out about everything. How Elena noticed how much Nathan missed all the history stuff. How Nathan apologized even when he wasnt doing (now) nothing wrong. I again appreaciate the efforts of this man to control himself. And how he later rejected Sam’s attempts to go to Avery’s ship. 

The last confrontation with Rafe was good. omg i wanted to puch him when he slapped Nadine. How dare he. I was totally supporting her when she put a gun on his head. Nadine was also a victim of the circumstances. She just needed the money, she was right in not wanting the whole treasure. She really didnt hate the Drakes (i want to rewatch Lost Legacy now because i have more context so some dialogue will make more sense to me lol)

Elena’s gift to Nathan in the end was really sweet. They both missed that life, it wasnt just Nathan. So she understood him. I like how he hesitated in the beggining but then went all for it xD

Ah i would like to say that Cassie’s appearance surprised me but i got spoiled a day before about it xD (I was doing so damn well!)  But that was a good epilogue. They were so happy now i was…so damn nostalgic at the end of the video…they grew up so fast *sobs*

To resume: I love the games fully with all my soul, the character development was amazing, Nathan Drake deserved so much better and all the characters are going to be forever in my heart (except you, Talbot. Go lose yourself in hell)

Happy mother’s day to Johanna from pokemon. I mean.. happ day to ALL the game moms, but seriously wtf is it with this series and giving them absolutely zero role in everything. Johanna’s still the best we got, but I hold out hope that maybe she could be even more of a thing in a sinnoh remake! And oh man, does anyone else really miss unnamed johto mom? She had the most plot presence as a gameplay aspect yknow, even if she didnt have PLOT PRESENCE. i really really really REALLY loved sending a portion of my income to help my virtual mom, and her buying me cute dolls to decorate my virtual house with. I went APESHIT for Staidum 2′s feature to see your custom room in full 3d on the menu screens! ^_^ Plus like.. just... a bank was a REALLY necessary addition to pokemon and its been much harder to manage money in every game since GSC because WHY DID THEY REMOVE IT?? If people disliked the mom buying you gifts feature, then they shoulda just brought back mombank with gameplay balance changes or customization options or whatever, not removed it forever... But of course the most important part is that it reminded you of your virtual mom existing and let you have some cute phonecall conversations during the journey! I just really really love poke-moms. As someone who kinda Very Much Lacks a real good mom, it felt really happy to imagine i had a fictional one. Why does pokemon keep missing this great opportunity!! And its also why im kinda sad all the professors stopped being like grandpa figures and now the player is supposed to see them as attractive or whatever. Theyre like my teacher yo! Thats not gonna happen no matter how sycamore he is! Oh but its actually why i really adore kukui even though he’s the most fanservice professor design ever, they still gave him cute mentorly interactions and a dadlike personality! And he’s even canonically a dad figure to one of yor rival friend characters, even if its up to the player to decide if you wanna see him as your buddy or as your videogame crush, lol But just... MAN I really miss Johanna!! She still had a really minor role, to the point that you only know her name if you get lucky enough to face her in the randomly generated Contest finals. But THAT is why i loved her! She actually reappears later in your story and helps you out, and is implied to be having her own adventure behind the scenes instead of just sitting in that house with one line of dialogue for 90 hours of gameplay. Actually, even, I loved the easter egg that she did actually (very rarely) change dialogue when you go back to get your pokemon healed at story-important points. like when team galactic blows up the nearby lake you can go visit her to heal up after the boss fights and she’s actually like HOLY SHIT YOU NEARLY DIED IN A LAKE EXPLOSION SON/DAUGHTER! And she fusses over you but she still lets you continue journeying after this moment of hesitation, believing in you that you’re the only one who can save this world. I just fuckin love Johanna! And.. like.. she’s kinda the closest we got to my secret dream of Champion Mom Wants To Fight. it was equally surprising to see her suddenly appear as the contest champion, even if its a completely missable easter egg. It was still nice to be able to kinda battle with your parental figure in a friendly competition of love and hugs. Also it’s good fuel for a thousand headcanons of her somehow knowing wallace from rse and etc. ALL CONTEST FRIENDS KNOW EACH OTHER, YO. Pokemon contests are THE BEST, please give us more of them and continue the Actually Having A Plot As You Defeat Them thing from ORAS! Lisia was the bestttt Seriously just imagine like... Contest plot of sinnoh remakes actually revolves around giving momma johanna some more screentime and development and backstory and like... maybe even she could appear in the main plot too? Even if its just like the thing of the gym leaders being stated to be fighting the rest of team galactic offscreen so you can reach cyrus. Maybe TG attacks a contest hall or something as the final part of the contest sidequest, and you and mom have to fend them off while simultaneously doing the contest finals. ‘Hey is this part of the show?’ cliche. Kick ass in the prettiest way! It could be really cool as a unique kind of bonus contest match, like a doubles contest where you have to work with your partner to make combo moves, or like a hybrid of battling and contests where you have to maintain a certain tv ratings level during the fight. JOHANNA IS BASICALLY METTATON OKAY, THIS IS MY HEADCANONS She just... has so much personality for someone who does nothing in the whole game. Why WHY do we never get enough mom? Do they just assume everyone has a real mom... man I was really happy tho to have sun and moon address abusive parenting as a main plot and also give some more personality to the mom character even if she’s still not really a plot presence. and like everyone is a parental figure in this plot! Bunni’s fifty moms and dads and at least two grandpas! even if The One Original Mom still didnt get enough screentime im glad i could project my sadnesses onto every kahuna ever And also rescue my new best friends from Literally My Actual Mom: the Videogame Character! Lusamine fuck off, i wanna see johanna again >_>

...so yeah basically pokemon moms this game series has been a constant comfort during my childhood when i was suffering from the bad mom stuff, so im glad it continues to give me the ol good mom wish fullfillment feels even as an adult i love unnamed slightly more screentime sun and moon mom i love contest star johanna mom i love mystery bank plush toy gifting mom i love even smaller role gen 1 and 3 moms even i love slightly medium sized role but really no personality unova mom 1 and 2 i love super cool kalos mom who’s so heavily set up as being a thing and then sadly never gets to have more than the every game regulated tiny screentime allottance I love every mom dad and grandpa-y pokemon professor I love 99% of all gym leaders who need more damn screen time too i love the kahunas making up for all that gym leader neglect AND being more parental than ever before i love the goddamn villain bosses that somehow end up being Officially My New Dad every damn time i love how the only truly unforgiveable fan unfavourite villain bosses are the two child abuse bastards i love kicking their ass with catharsis power and then going back to my million virtual family members and pretending i could do this in real life and everyone knows i inexplicably love charon from gen 4 cos he’s Slightly More Grandpa Than Every Other Villain i love games about found family and stuff... i wish pokemon would realise that its one of these games, yknow? sun and moon seemed a lot like a good step in that direction. i think if was able to play that game as a kid i would have been able to realise i was being abused. its really important to address these subjects in children’s media, yknow? and just GOD it sucks that the only way i dont get sad on mother’s day is wasting hours thinking about fictional 2 lines of dialogue moms from a dumb monster catching game aaaaaaaaa johanna why u no be real

so i finally got to finish white rabbit and it was Bad. its bad film scoob

to get more detailed, and possibly i just wasn’t paying close enough attention to this first point, but, it’s something so basic that it should be pretty clear to the audience unless you’re messing with it on purpose, the timeline is absolutely confusing as heck. how long did harlon and julie know each other? i have NO IDEA. i legit am convinced it was only 2 days. i just can’t.... possibly conceive of it being any other increment of time? but also that still doesn’t make sense to me because things escalate So Damn Quickly. his bully bullied him literally right before summer, then summer ends and he insists he’s Changed and that all that stuff In The Past is something he’s improved about himself now that he’s Matured?????? wHat???? also there’s something very abrupt about the film’s timeline. we see one or two scenes with harlon as a child, then only scenes of him in a very specific summer in a very specific year(i.e. the year that he either violently shoots up his school, or dreams about violently shooting up his school, more on that later tho) which isn’t INHERENTLY bad, but... you didn’t get this... the film is striving to explain how things build up and build up and build up inside a person, why things go so wrong, and why we have school shootings(or at least, ONE explanation why some kids engage in school shootings) but you don’t GET a sense of things being built up. the whole film felt like a bunch of choppy scenes spliced together

and it didn’t really...... harlon’s hallucinations felt like such a small PART of the film, they were SO scattered and didn’t really. i dunno. it just didnt all click together in any coherent or meaningful sense. the whole film is so odd, poorly handled, and disjointed that i’m having trouble writing coherent thoughts about it. 

julie was, altogether, a shallow character who was literally a manic pixie dream girl. she stumbled into his life twice, the first time changing him for the better(in some ways, he does stand up for himself for the first time after kisses him), the second time using her own personal growth that all took place OFF-SCREEN and with barely an explanation thrown out there, TO TRY AND FIX HARLON AGAIN like she’s JUST a catalyst for his own growth that’s all she is, and she’s a shoddy one at that. she doesn’t feel like she belongs in the film at all, she feels like she was in an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT film and somehow managed to step through a door and land in this town somehow. she’s weird, she’s poorly-written imho, she’s distracting, she takes up time that COULD be used to actually give... literally any character any personality at all, even a little

oh yeah, nobody has any... personality. they’re all like these cardboard cutouts, the stereotypical abusive redneck dad, the stereotypical shitty siblings(fun fact! i literally forgot he had siblings, throughout the entire film i just kept forgetting, and i only remember now because a different review mentioned them! fun), the tired and slightly overbearing but ultimately caring mother, the bully, the sniveling friend, the angry shouty parents of the sniveling friend who seem to have no source for their anger they just Are Mad Now, the girl who waltzes into Main Character’s life and shakes things up, the Crazy School Shooter who Hears Voices From His Violent Comic Books! everybody is like every other character ever, and even when shoddy writing starts putting them on a different path, they just head down... that same cliche path anyway, even though it makes no sense for them in context, like the world’s shittiest roller coaster

for example, the school shooting ending had NO buildup. it was last minute, went by real fast, had NO real stressor to speak of, it just... literally didnt make sense. harlon wasn’t an exceedingly angry child, he wasn’t overly-programmed for violence by the way his parents raised him... and yet, just like he’s been locked onto the rails, just cuz he Hears Voices so this Must Be A School Shooter Movie, he just stands there while the tracks take him from point a to point b

also, the entire film felt like nothing more than a grocery list, loosely detailing all of the every reason you ever ever ever hear that anyone ever does A Big Bad Thing, without any real deeper understanding of any of those things. like. it felt so... the entire film felt sterile. everybody was a standee on a track, rolling up to one another and saying in a SIRI-esque voice “HELLO. HERE IS REASON NUMBER 284 WHY I WILL BE SAD LATER. BEEP BOOP DEPLOYING SADNESS” before calmly being carried away by the motor. 

plus the ending is a total cop-out. the beginning of the film includes what is obviously harlon getting ready to shoot up the school, plus some voice-overs that don’t make sense yet, which is fine. sure. plenty of films make use of devices like that. then at the end, when he shoots up the school, it eventually ends on very similar footage from the beginning, with some teeny tiny details changed here and there, but... like, was he thinking about shooting up the school before going in to do it, or was he dreaming it, or did he shoot himself and now he’s in purgatory, forced to revisit his crimes at the hands of his evil bunny overlord...? it was ambiguous in the exact way a film like this should NEVER be ambiguous(or at least, not unless you’re way better than these people at writing >:// )

all of this being said, i do want to make a specific note that i liked the actors. i think they did a great job. i liked watching nick krause(harlon), i liked watching Sam Trammell(the father) struggle to bring nuance to such an awkwardly written role. honestly, sam’s character was easily the most robust one in the film, since he was abusive but he did love his kids and had moments with them where things WEREN’T bad, and moments that made it clear that he was trying, he just didn’t know any better and lived in this environment that stifled any and all change and personal growth, but at the same time he was never excused for his abusive behavior. sam trammell did literally awesome at is and he was quite possibly..... 1.5 whole dimensions. incredible

anyway, back on topic, i believed ryan lee as a bullied child-- did i like the writing for him, or how things were edited? no. but his acting, his tears, his emotions that he brought to the performance were MORE than satisfactory. 

the one i’m most hesitant to speak about is britt robertson(julie). like, on one hand, i just straight up... did not like julie. or rather, i would’ve been fine watching a film about julie, she seems nice and interesting(what lead her to her downward spiral of drugs and alcohol and attempted suicide? was she mentally ill, or were there outside stressors? what did she go through to heal the way she did over just one summer? what about that night was so bad for her that it caused her to go to rehab/a mental hospital? did she decide to on her own, or did her father make her?) but she’s barely touched in the film, barely given any space to feel anything, and so i find her presence, quite frankly, annoying. she should have been bigger or not there at all. but she was there, and she wasn’t bigger, and the writing really did not care about her feelings or motivations in the SLIGHTEST. and there’s only so much you can bring to that, acting-wise! the scene where she nearly dies in the field with harlon, when she’s talking about praying and how she never gets an answer, i BELIEVED the tears in her voice. she sounded visceral and honest. at the middle/end, when she came back and truly wanted to help harlon? the way she acted when the shooting was happening? i mean, i didn’t like the WRITING for her character, but i liked the emotions she managed to put into these scenes

and like. i know i’m skipping back here a bit, but nick krause did Good man. i thoroughly believed at least 97.25% of his emotions. i didn’t understand his motivations, and there were certainly flat and emotionless moments aplenty, but mostly they were born out of poor writing, and not actor shortcomings

the actors were not the problem. i would 100% see a movie just cuz nick krause was in it(if only to see if his acting only looked good in comparison to the script he was handed)

honestly i can’t really sum it up much better than these guys did, ngl

I feel a hand placed on my shoulder and look up to see Alexis giving me a sympathetic look. I force my watery eyes to not look at the scene literally right in front of me.

“I’d love to go see a movie with you this weekend tom.” Her too perky voice rings in my ears.

I can’t make out his reply, I assume it was just as excited. At least he’s happy.

I don’t even realize tears are streaming down my face before tom turns around to look at me, but I’ve already ran off, feriously wiping at my tears and feeling so incredibly stupid.

Turning around, I see y/n running off. Maybe I’ve finally done it. Has she been driven away?

I turn back around to see Kelsey back on her phone and picking at her nails. She rolls her eyes at something and then looks back up at me and gives me a smile. I didn’t realize someone could look so annoyed and happy so fast? Was she faking it? It wasn’t a genuine smile… like..

“Tom!” Kelsey snaps me out of my thoughts.

I quickly give my full attention towards her. “Huh? Did you say something?”

“Uh, yeah, I was just about to say that Alexis looks beyond awful today. Like what even is that? Why wear a sweatshirt and leggings everyday?”

I feel a twinge of anger towards her. Alexis has never done anything to her, she’s quite shy just like y/n. Both of them have never done anything to her actually.

“And don’t even get me started on y/n…”

Now I’m just mad. Why do I feel very defensive? Y/n is just annoying, that’s all. Was she really though? Has she ever been annoying? She just wants to talk to m-

“Oh my god! Say something!”

I don’t know why I say it, but I do. And I instantly regret it.

“Yeah, you’re right.”

I don’t think she is right. She has no right to say those things about y/n. Regardless of how uncomfortable I feel around her.

It feels like I’ve been dabbing at my eyes with a paper towel in the girl’s bathroom for hours, when in reality it’s been five minutes.

Alexis came in to comfort me, but I really just wanted to be left alone. It’s kind of ironic how I wanted to be alone, when that’s the feeling I’ve been afraid of all my life.

I take a look at myself in the mirror, I feel a pang of hurt in my chest. I look so sad, why am I backtracking? I was doing so well. I don’t want to go back to that place ever again. I just shrug it of, pick up my backpack and place it on my shoulder.

As I walk out, I collide with a chest.

“Ouch.” I mumble

“Oh fuck, I’m so sorry!”

I look up to see harry, Tom’s younger brother looking down at me with concern filled eyes.

I give a small smile, “it’s no problem, Harry. I should of been looking at where I was going. I’m the one who’s sorry.”

“Love don’t apologize, really.”

I blush a little at the pet name. I had never really talked to Harry. He seemed nice enough at our neighborhood dinners, but I don’t think I’ve ever had a conversation with him.

“Are you okay? You look as if you’ve been crying.”

I look up at him and laugh nervously, “oh, um, actually…no I’m not okay. Plus, my older sister had to borrow my car so I’m left with no choice but to walk home.”

I don’t know why I’m opening up to him, but I am. He gives me another stare full of pity.

“Would you like to sit with me at lunch? I could try to get your mind off of whatever is bothering you? And then after school I could ask my older brother to give you a ride with us.”

I’m about to accept his offer when he mentions tom. I don’t feel like being in his car, I don’t feel like being around him at all. I can’t make it seem like I’m hurt. I can’t be obvious.

“I’d love that.”

tom pov

I make my way towards my first class when I see harry come around the corner. There’s someone a little bit behind him, but they make their way next to him and laugh at what he said. Their laugh sounds beautiful I must say. Then I see who it is…y/n? Harry and y/n. When I said to talk to her I didnt mean it literally.

Then they walk right past me, y/n doesn’t look at me once. What was that all about? I feel my stomach drop to the floor. Why is this bothering me so much.

By the time lunch rolls around, I sit next to my best mate Harrison. He says something to me but I am too distracted by my thoughts to anknowlege him. I feel a smack upside my head and jump out of my seat. “Ow what the actual fuck is wrong with you harrison?” I growl.

“What’s wrong with me? What about you mate?”

“It’s nothing, I swear.”

My eyes search for someone who I never thought I would be searching for, y/n. Where is she? She usually is sat down at her table by now.

My thoughts are interrupted and my heart pangs one million times in my chest as I see her walk through the cafeteria doors with not only Alexis by her side, but harry. Of fucking course.

They both sit at his table and I furrow my eyebrows. What the fuck?

“Tom, what the fuck are you staring at?”

I ignore harrison, just keep my gaze set on my younger brother chatting up y/n.

“Are you jealous that y/n has found another holland to admire, eh?” His voice rings through my ears

Harrison is right. I am. I’m jealous. All of her attention used to be directed towards me and now that she hasn’t given me one glance, I feel sad. betrayed. I always wanted her to lay off all the staring and admiring, but now that she actually is, it feels almost wrong.

“Leave me alone.” I whisper. My soft response surprises my best mate.

“Sorry, tom, I didn’t realize you liked her that much. I thought you hated her.”

Taking a breath, “I don’t, I do, uh fuck, help me what is wrong with me?”

My eyes peel away from y/n laughing at something Harry said. The bloke isn’t the least bit funny, what if she is pretending to find what he said funny? Isn’t that what girls do when they fancy someone. Does she fancy him?

Harrison’s eyes soften once he realizes how much this is taking a toll on me.

“I think you may like her more than you think mate.”

“But, why? This morning I was so dead set on getting her to leave me alone, but now that she kind of is, I don’t like it. I’d rather her keep admiring me than acting as if I was never there. What is this?”

“As I said mate, you like her. Now just take a look at her.”

I hesitate to turn back towards her, scared of what I might see. But, I do it anyway and she’s surprisingly staring down at her food.

“Now, tell me. Do you think she’s beautiful?”

As I watch her poke at her food with a fork, I look at her hands. They seem so small and dainty, but hands that would of held only the best things. Caring hands. If only my hands were holding hers. They would be a perfect fit. I then look at the outfit she is wearing. A maroon sweater that suits her well. Her hair, h/c, it flows down one side of her shoulder and the rest is tucked behind her ear. A piece falls out from behind her ear and I feel an urge to take it and place it in its rightful position. She turns to harry again and smiles at him. That damn smile. It reaches her eyes and it’s genuine, not like Kelsey’s. Hers was fake beyond belief. But, this one is real and beautiful. As I look at her, I realize she is beautiful. I never took a good look at her. I didn’t appreciate her beauty until now, and I feel like a right idiot for taking so long.

“Yes. She is.” I smile a little as I watch her. I probably look like such a goof with doe eyes the size of planets.

“Well, took you long enough.”

I chuckle at that. The bell rings and I watch y/n stand up and walk out of the cafeteria with Alexis, saying something to my younger brother. Harry is still in the cafe, so I make my way over to him.

“Well bye to you too!” Harrison yells over at me, but I merely send a side wave of my hand.

Harry is about to leave when I catch his arm. He turns around and jumps back a little, ready to defend himself, but relaxes once he sees its me.

“Oh, god, tom don’t scare me like-“

“Why was y/n sitting with you?” I can’t help the words falling from my mouth.

He looks taken back, furrowing his eyebrows and emits a light chuckle, “why do you care, you hate-“

“Don’t say that.” I say with a tone of anger in my voice. It kills me how rude I’ve been towards her. If someone mentions it one more time, I could explode of guilt.

“Well she looked pretty upset today and came out of the restroom crying, so I comforted her.”

I furrow my eyebrows and I feel a deep pain in the pit of my stomach. She was crying. Whoever made her feel that way is going to get a nice punch in the face from me. I can’t believe-

“And I offered to give her a ride after school. So if you don’t mind, you will be bringing her home with us.”

I let go of his arm and my eyes lighten. This could be my chance to get to talk to her. Actually talk to her.

“Really? I, uh, I mean sure I would be happy to give her a ride.”

“Sweet mate. You really will love her, I already do.”
