I think one underrated tragedy of Ice King's scars is that he probably took away Simon's sense of levity.

Like in his very limited appearances before Simon is consumed by the crown we see he's kind of a silly dude. In his introduction video, he only put on the crown in order to playfully tease his fiancee. Plus watching him make light of the loneliness and general misery for a young girl in a broken world. He was a dedicated man, who was generous and loved with his whole heart and threw himself one hundred percent into everything he did. He was also a fun lil guy.

But after almost a millennia of being a mad man, the brunt of every joke, someone who only existed as a broken caricature of himself and couldn't be counted on to take anything seriously, I imagine he was done with it. Now he wants to focus back on his academic endeavors, on his role as a father figure in Marcy's life, on being a proper adult. Any attempts to be silly could easily remind everyone - including himself- of Ice King, something he's eager to avoid.

So his jokes and jibes and general lightheartedness turned to sarcasm and self deprecating comments.

You looked down at your thighs in the dress Simon bought you. He thought about you, especially when passing this lingerie set. You bite your lower lip as you stared at the particular large spot of darker skin. You had hyperpigmentations across your body, places that you could hide better than other because you thought they weren’t…the cutest.

You never had Simon seen them, you made sure to wear enough clothing to hide your thighs, upper back, and most embarrassing for you…your lower regions. Simon and you have been dating for 9 months with no clothes off or anything. You would be relieved when Simon didn’t want to have sex early in the relationship let alone few months ago. But now it’s happening.

You want him sure…But you were scared once walking out of the bathroom door that he will leave…think you adds some disgusting human. You inhaled deeply before reaching the handle. “Okay but don’t laugh!” You yelled for him to hear you.

“You’re being dramatic Simon.” You joked as he glared at you before he kissed you softly.

“Hm, maybe so,” He kissed you again before swiping your tongue. “But it’s true. Just like when you say my scars are stars that you love to trace. These marks are mine.” He kissed your neck sucking a bit as he kissed a mark on your shoulder, making you shiver when he softly bit on it.

Simon sloppily kissed it once again. Before he lifted the hem of the babydoll dress to wrap his fingers around your panties. Snapping them. Making you jump and softly moan. “Fuck even your beautiful destinations have marked the one place I would love to devour anytime,” You blushed as you giggled before you slapped his shoulder playfully. Simon chuckled as he kissed your chest. “Maybe the destinations lead me to where the treasure is at.”

You knew you are but moments like these makes you feel like you were some beautiful goddess. As he knelt he kissed each mark he could find as he led his lips more on your thighs.

You hummed as he kissed further up to where you needed him the most. Simon sucked on one of your bigger marks on the inner of your thigh. You gasped as you grabbed his blonde locks. In all kindness, f*ck anyone that doesn't take the strike seriously. The fact that people think that the writers and actors of their favorite shows don't deserve living wages, and they would rather bootlick studio execs who don't give two shits about them is absolutely delusional.

I can understand being indifferent to the strike, though I don't agree with it. Some people just don't follow show business, and the writing process in particular, and don't really know what's going on. Okay fine whatever.

But to actually be opposed to the strike, harassing writers and supporters online (and hopefully not in person) saying they are just being whiny entitled brats who should just get a real job, you've got to be a unique breed of scum.

I responded to someone online with what I wrote below, and I liked it so I wanted to share it here.

okay so imagine your job, that you've worked at for years, suddenly says "hey guys we only need you for a few months every year, good luck the rest of the time" and they hardly pay you anything for work you've already done. Now imagine you want to try to change that, because you want to keep working at your dream job that you've worked your whole life to get, but your boss just says, "nah, you can lose your house and starve, I want to keep all of the money we earn" so you decide to go on strike, to protest a change to the system in a changing world. But some ignorant people on the internet just tell you to give up and just go get another job. Forget about all of your schooling and training and years of experience in your chosen field, these losers on the internet don't think that means shit, because you're being a whiny baby for standing up for what you believe to be honest work. Kindly put yourself in their shoes and shut up
