(PEN)NAME: Rae. At least that’s what I use for tumblr and discord: other platforms have other ones.

PRONOUNS: She/her. And tbh, I really prefer you use she/her with me. I’m not offended by they/them, but some health issues and constant bullying in my younger years makes me very sensitive to he/him.

ZODIAC  SIGN: Leo-Virgo cusp. And it fits too perfectly.

TAKEN  OR  SINGLE:  Very much taken. I got engaged right before COVID hit in early 2020 and my fiancé and I closed/moved into our first house together last month. He is also very nerdy but text-based RP isn’t his thing (he’s more into video games, computer games, and D&D). Besides that, he’s a popular Twitter shitposter. It’s funny because pretty much the same drama that unfolds on Twitter happens on Tumblr so we compare notes and facepalms. And while I’m sometimes active on Twitter and his group chat, he’s never made an appearance over here (yet). 

———  THREE  FACTS  !

Some of the jobs I’ve held in my life include: personal trainer, makeup artist, fashion show dresser, fashion show model, census enumerator, blogger, and now I work in marketing and communications. Funny enough, my university major is not in any of these (this is what happens when you graduate during a recession).

I used to lift a lot of very heavy weights with the intention of competitive powerlifting. But I had a trainer I just didn’t get along with and so it turned me off from the gym for awhile. I’ve yet to find a new gym that works for me (and I didn’t have time during the past few months due to the house hunt + work + writing here). Currently to get the extra weight I’ve gained off, I take consistent walks near the park I now live by (very charming! I just stay away from the food trucks during the evenings), eat a very low calorie diet, and corset train (I’ve done corset training on and off for years but got more into it during COVID and working from home more often).

My current project is overhauling one of the spare bedrooms in the new house to become my walk-in closet. I’m working with a closet company for the design and install, and it’s very exciting (mostly because I purged so much before moving that 1. I don’t need to do that and 2. Everything is still mostly organized in boxes)! I’m not much for interior décor but picking out a throw rug and choosing new hangers? Fun! After that, it’s heading to IKEA or The Container Store to build out my cosplay storage space.

———  EXPERIENCE  !

PLATFORMS USED: AOL chatrooms, AIM, Yahoo!Groups, YIM, Livejournal/Deadjournal/Greatestjournal, online forums, email, and Tumblr. I missed the Myspace/Facebook era of RP due to being in uni and not having the time for it.

To that end, I’ve been roleplaying longer than some muns have been alive. But for a concrete number...I think I can trace my first RP account to the year 2000. Remembering my first muses and plots, that sounds about right.

———  MUSE  PREFERENCE  !

GENDER: Mostly female muses. It’s not that I can’t write male muses, I can and I have. I just generally don’t enjoy it as much, and I find more female muses that inspire me to write than male ones. I do bring in male muses as more NPC/side characters though. I think those are important for building upon a muse’s life and connections! No muse is an island (unless you’re roleplaying as an island. Then by all means!).

LEAST FAVOURITE FACE(S): I don’t really have faceclaims I dislike specifically, but there are series I despise. Mostly I get confused when I see faceclaims from very popular franchises being used for OCs and I’m just “Yeah, I’m pretty much always going to see them as the canon muse.” Danganronpa especially throws me on this. My least favorite anime of all time is Death Note so I tend to cringe whenever I see muses with those FCs, I guess.

MULTI OR SINGLE: Single blog. Single blog always. For one, I tend to hyperfocus on writing a muse for many years where blogs are concerned (for things like forums or chatrooms, it’s easier to try out new things). But mostly, I’d feel bad if I had a multi and I was only wanting to really write 1 or 2 muses on it, especially if muns were requesting others.

———  FLUFF  /  ANGST  /  SMUT  !  ♡    

FLUFF: Yes, but usually shorter threads or as part of a bigger plot. I do like seeing muses happy! But I also think in a long-term, larger story with my threads most of the time, especially if our muses have a close dynamic: best friends, found family, romance are the big ones. If the only interaction is fluff, I get bored: there has to be some sort of conflict, problem to solve, etc. And not necessarily between the muses! It can be something they’re both having to face together.

ANGST: Love it, but don’t love it for the sake of being edgy. Considering that I write Sonia and SDR2 happened though? Any post-game thread will likely have angst. I don’t want every interaction to be angst but I do like having some of it in there. 

SMUT: I do like smut. I do write smut on occasion, but I don’t enjoy writing porn without plot. I’m a much bigger fan of a well-written intimacy scene from a skilled romance writer than something that reads too pornographic. I don’t write these too often because I’m a fan of slow-burns and dislike most smut memes: it just feels strange sending it in for random sexytimes. I don’t write smut that often, mostly because many of my muse’s ships aren’t at that stage and/or the mun I’m writing with doesn’t want to write it. If that changes, I’d consider making a sideblog for those threads.

PLOT  /  MEMES: Plot OOC but send memes that look interesting. In most cases, I think threads turn out more engaging and fun when there’s plotting involved but that’s me!

How I feel about this character: *sweats nervously and stares at my legolas sideblog @nblegolas and all the legolas fic ive written and how many times ive had legolas as my icon* what are you talking about i like him the normal amount

BUT FOR REAL THO the amount i project onto him??? unhealthy probably lmao

All the people I ship romantically with this character: so I see legolas as aroace (considering how i project……..Not Surprising) B U T i stand by the statement that all gigolas is good gigolas, so Gimli fits into this category! i cannot see him romo with anyone else tho, and even paired with Gimli in a romo context I’m still probably seeing him through an arospec lens.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: GIMLI!!! he and Gimli are like, my first big aro ship, them being QPPs is SO important to me, ugh

My unpopular opinion about this character: I mean, for this one I don’t think saying “he’s aro” is a copout. Straight girls and the gays are always claiming him for themselves, which is good and valid even if it gets on my nerves sometimes, but i just… i headcanon him as being gay+aroace but the aro part is sosososo important to me! i shitpost about green being his color and also The Aro Color, but like, him not being married, him being so close to Gimli, him being light-hearted and a singer, and also just very aesthetically pretty (not just the PJ version!) is like….Goals for me tbh.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: HEY TOLKIEN WHAT”S THE NAME OF HIS MOM HM. GIVE ME LITERALLY ANY INFORMATION ABOUT LEGOLAS’ MOM. ANYTHING. I DARE YOU.

(also his presence in the hobbit movies, especially as a “love interest” for tauriel, was….completely unnecessary. i think he should have been there, it wouldn’t have made sense for him not to be considering the importance of thranduil to the story, BUT he should have been a one-off cameo appearance. though im NOT COMPLAINING with the amount of stupid stunts he pulled in the movies - i am a sucker for that kind of action movie bullshit!)

When Zane meets Clay for the first time he mentions they did a smuggling job together on Junpai-7, u know, the water planet, so obviously this is good news (This made me super happy because my discord channel's name had been the junpai-7 moon pool for a while so I was like 'holy shit it's canon now' :') )

Timeline wise this isn't the beginning, but I don't write in chronological order and I don't order anything in chronological order, either, so. Eh.

Speaking of chronological order, I once got a line where Zane was like exclaiming something and used the moon instead of idk a god or powerful figure or smth and I was like 'lmao that's canon now'

So the moon... Elpis fucking got yeeted halfway across the galaxy or smth, and, considering we've seen (more) ocean on Pandora in 3 instead of just, like, Liars Berg (getting to THAT) or Tretchers landing, I feel bad for the tides. But that's good news for everyone else. Unless you were on Elpis, I guess.

Also hoh boy the 'end' of the game where Troy Phaselocks the moon was fun to write (it actually wasn't, I lowkey hate writing Moonstruck phases because... It hurts and I can't do it well.) also can we talk about how in tps the psychos are called Moonstrucks in tvhm because this makes me so happy. I really hope they did that intentionally considering H2O is an Australian show because my two favorite things combined can and will kill me. Wait actually the Troy boss fight is gonna be hilarious to write mostly because of that one attack with the tidal waves lol oh no

Also, also, also, you guys it's only explained in a guide book and never actually in-game as to why Captain's ship is Like That (TM) so I took some liberties and uhhh blame the Crackening. Mostly brain freeze and trick of the light. That one meme video I made of Tannis and the Flynt Brothers imposed over that one clip of H2O (so let me get this straight: you freeze things, you explode things, and you boil things) wasn't just for laughs, it was actually a warning.

Each Flynt has a thing and Zane's is ice, Baron's is explosions, and Captain's is fire. (Glorious cleansing fire) Because it fits. It fits so well. I will say right off the bat that Mako Mermaids isn't my canon. I lowkey want to write out Charlotte as well (lol) because I've seen the 2nd season so many times and tbh I much prefer them having 1 really strong power over having 3+ really weak powers. Also Charlotte did nothing wrong in the first half of that season. Cleo was just a bitch to her. And Mako Mermaids is just. Not great on the power side of things. You can TURN INVISIBLE. USE IT. Soooo. (also cam got destroyed in s1 and I'm so glad they ended up making him work in s2 and 3. Because he deserved better and Zac was a terrible friend to him and only got away with it because he's a main character). /rant sorry I have so many feelings about these shows. Grew up with them soooooo.

And if ur wondering why I brought up trick of the light it's cause the 13th year exists and that movie was bopping. U guys remember Jess? Good times... Tuba pool scene is iconic. U know the one. I would also bring up aquamarine but ngl that movie was weaksauce comparatively. They hid that bitch in a water tower and iunno talked to earrings. Meanwhile in the 13th year they bring Jess back from the fucking dead and climb on walls like Spiderman. Clearly one is superior.

Even better now that we know Sirens are not Eridian and actually existed before Eridians. Makes me giddy to think about. The universe is tearing me APART Lisa.

Oh speaking of, can we talk about the witch's brew quest on eden-6 because holy shit I had been writing Hiromi and her fascination with discovering all the secret circles long before the game came out and then learning about the group of witches and The Pact (TM) made me lose my shit because 'oh my god it's actually canon now'. We're on the canon path nowwwww. Soon. I hope we get a water planet dlc. I wants it, GB, I wants it.

Also I was totally gonna write a clip in the main story of the game (because I write a lot of backstory stuff if you can't tell, I only have like 3 scenes that take place during the events of the game and like 4 that are speculatory from before the game came out (including a scene from before I realized Troy was Like That but I edited it so he's more in-line and also has Maya's powers now so that's... Hm. In line with the storyline somewhere, but not an actual scene in the games story. Because its not possible with how the game does things (seperating Vault Hunters) I suppose I could just insert a 5th Vault somewhere and say it's the 4th Vault connected to the Machine (with nekrotefeyo's being the 5th). Fuck it.) and then 9,000 are backstory) where Hiromi comes back after like decades of the two not seeing each other and she's been hired to assassinate Zane by one of the many corporations looking for his corpse for a multitude of reasons (And Emma and Nino are both d e a d a s f, you know, for context). And like Barnabas (ya old bastard) Zane is still joking around and just having a grand old time catching up with his black ops buddy meanwhile she had just tried to blow his brains out (she's a sniper) and got pretty damn close. She's not even amused because of her psychic powers so she's just like 'ok' every time he opens his mouth because she already knows what he's going to say she's mostly just frustrated that she missed because she thought she knew him well enough to go off instead of just listening to her intuition but alas people change after, like, 3 decades of not seeing them.

Oh since we're talking about Hiromi that reminds me why Zane wears the black suit. In my non-h2o universe it's because it looks cool and provides some protection from dots. In the H2Oniverse it is because it's waterproof. Okay wait hang on context so Hiromi doesn't like take off his suit or anything, she's extremely gay and not interested, because I realize now how that sounds me relating Hiromi to the clothes, they just get into an argument about how Sirens don't have to follow any arbitrary rules to hide their magic and how it's easier to hide magic without giant glowing tattoos (and mind you this is before Zane even knows Tannis exists though he does immediately know she's a Siren and that's a whole nother can of worms) and hr's like 'I wear a bodysuit for most of my waking hours, so I am pretty sure they can try wearing long sleeved shirts and makeup for a day. Just a suggestion' but like way more in character (and for the scene) because do I sound like I'm in character right now? I'm not. I'm me. And God what a terrible thing to be.

So context for the context: ~magic is real~. If you've got it then you can usually tell who else has it if you're looking. It's especially clear if they're 'similar' to you (if ur a werewolf and u meet another werewolf then you sorta just know they're a werewolf) or if you're psychic (like Hiromi) then you can make some informed guesses. Like. Same Hat? Same Hat!!! Sirens are basically such powerful magic users that they are in literally a whole nother ball park. They're leagues above everyone else. Kill you just by looking at you sort of deal. So sirens normally don't feel other magic because their own magic is so strong it just 'overwrites' the other signals. You know, to not only explain why Lilith isn't immediately like 'who the fuck are you' to Zane and also how Amara couldn't tell Tannis is a Siren. I had a whole thing with Troy (who is psychic) being able to tell Zane had magic despite being near 4 Sirens at once because Troy grew up with Tyreen always at his side so he's used to it and knows how to look through it. Meanwhile Hiromi is basically incapacitated when she's near a Siren because she gets overwhelmed because her powers make it easier for her to read other people's magic.

Oh, context, the black ops outfit worked with Atlas for a short time (the group being Zane, Hiromi, Emma, and Nino. Emma is the yeehaw captain. She's the leader) and ended up meeting Steele for a little bit. Hiromi was just dead the entire meeting, Zane was totally out of it, and Emma and Nino were too busy eyefucking to really care that there was a Siren in the room so. Just imagine one person lying face down on the floor and crying, another staring at the wall without blinking, two undressing each other with their eyes, and then Cmdt. Steele standing in the middle like 'how the fuck did I get here'.

So that was everyone's first experience with a Siren.

MHanders is more my speed (by which I mean it’s in my canon worldstate), so you’re getting MHanders. But here we go, the thing I did while I should’ve been studying biochem:

2. Who is the big spoon/ Who is the little spoon?

Hawke is hella shorter than Anders, but he makes a point to be the big spoon. Anders feels safe with Hawke’s arms around him, and Hawke makes sure to curl up close and lay his arm over Anders as they’re falling asleep, just to watch the tension in his face unwind. He falls asleep with a soft, serene smile on his face. Hawke wishes he could make Anders smile that way all the time.

6. Who would have really deep emotional thoughts at the middle of the night/ Who would have them in the middle of the day?

Anders has all his deep thoughts at night—well, all the thoughts he thinks are deep. Sometimes they’re very profound thoughts about the nature of love and humanity and the universe, and sometimes they’re essentially shitposting fueled by a lack of sleep. Hawke, on the other hand, just throws out whatever comes to mind at all times of day—deep, shitpost-y, whatever. People who hear him usually think he’s drunk. He isn’t.

11. Who likes horror movies/ Who likes romance movies?

Hawke doesn’t particularly enjoy horror movies. He does love romcoms, and when it’s his turn to pick, he always puts on some ridiculous sappy movie with terrible acting and an even more terrible plot. Anders puts on a big show of hating them and pointing out every ridiculous contrivance, but he can’t bring himself to hate them too much when they make Hawke smile that way. Besides, when he looks at Hawke, he can understand why a man might turn giddy from being in love.

14. Who kills the spiders?

For someone who lives in a literal sewer, Anders has a particular distaste for spiders. Justice doesn’t like him killing them, though, so the job falls to Hawke.

38. Who likes to star gaze?

Anders. After such a long time in the Circle, sometimes he still can’t believe that he can just go outside whenever he wants and just… look at the stars. Tbh it makes Hawke a little sad that he takes things like that for granted, but to Anders, they’re a luxury and a miracle.

47. Who has the more complex coffee order?

(Modern AU, I guess.) Anders takes his coffee black, but he never looks like he’s enjoying it—not like Hawke, who tries some new flavored syrupy whatever each time. He tells Hawke he doesn’t mind the bitterness, but Hawke isn’t fooled. He sees a little flash of fear in Anders’ eyes as he hands over his debit card at the coffee shop (because who wants the embarrassment of having their card denied in public?), and he knows Anders isn’t drinking plain black coffee because he wants to—he’s trying to save money. So Hawke makes any excuse to treat Anders to sweet drinks, and when Anders’ face lights up, he’s sure the sight will make his teeth rot faster than any sugary coffee. He doesn’t mind at all.
