I am so thankful to CxG for how unabashedly the show embraces cringe. Rebecca is a messed up person, usually in ways that are not "cute", poetic or dark (which I feel like is often how mental illness gets somewhat romanticised in media). Her behavior is so often embarrassing, pathetic, childish and generally cringe-worthy.

And I still love her and root for her, and fully believe that she deserves happiness.

That means so much to me. Because if Rebecca – an embarrassing, pathetic, shameful mess – deserves happiness... then maybe I – an embarrassing, pathetic, shameful mess – do too.

Tbh the funniest thing I've seen crop up for mob psycho s3 is when people complain about the characters being off model. Like.... really?? Off-model animation... in mob psycho 100.. Ohhg the horror. Surely the roughness and creativity and freedom in style hasn't literally always been part of this show's art direction.. mob psycho has never been off-model before. Yup.....

going insane over how fitzjames’s death scene and billy’s death+subsequent consumption are put in direct parallel to one another and what it says about crozier and hickey. fitzjames is allowed a death so private that not even the audience gets to see it, while billy’s becomes an event experienced by every person in the camp. both of their deaths could be perceived as a mercy, but one is gentle and done upon request, while the other is violent and done without consent. fitzjames asks to be eaten but is not; billy is eaten when he wanted to live. 

in his actions, crozier is preserving fitzjames’s dignity and humanity in death. crozier starts out resenting most everyone on the ship, but in the end it’s his kindness and compassion towards others that leads to his survival. it was silna who told him he didn’t want to live, and it was silna and his friendship with silna that inevitably saved him. 

hickey is dehumanizing billy and literally turning him into a piece of meat. but even still, hickey refuses to butcher billy’s body himself. you could interpret that several ways, but I believe that at least part of that is due to him still caring about billy somewhere inside himself. hickey believes, at his core, that he is completely alone, and that drives him to throw away his humanity and become something greater. but he can’t do it. he tries for much of the show, but in the end, his failure is final.
