✨🌈darly boxman lore dump🌈✨

for those of you who don't know, The Darly Boxman Show is a short video made by gooseworx prior to tadc (you should watch it if you haven't already pls its really good, cw for eye contact)

it's connected to the Pink City universe (so like elain the bounty hunter and stuff) and is an in-universe kids show that follows Darly Boxman, Mimlimim, and milkpooch as they do weird stuff

more under the cut because this is going to be long

if you're reading this then beware you are about to dive into my crazed ramblings about a guy who has a lot of shit going on actually

So, as mentioned before, the darly boxman show is a show in the pink city universe starring Darles nemeni as darly boxman, Thlouretta Gudds as mimlimim, and milkpooch as itself

milkpooch and mimlimim look the same out of the show, but darles looks a little different:

you may be wondering, "his normal eyes look so much friendlier than the box eyes why'd he do that lol" and the answer is.....

his eyes just kinda change when he puts on the box, its some "wacky cartoon logic that can't be explained" according to gooseworx

Hoonis Boogie's obsession

Hoonis boogie is the moon looking guy hugging the tv (see below). He is the host of the annual ghost of the year event. Hoonis most likely constantly rewatches the show, and wants to be "as good a host as [darly]." (sadly I couldn't find much information on this)

Darles nemeni's daughter

darles nemeni had a life apart from the darly boxman show (more or less), so lets talk about that. Starting with the fact that he has a daughter (:0 whoag) and her name is Bep nemeni

Darles mainly wanted a child to continue his legacy with the darly boxman show. Bep didn't like this and now runs an adult talk show and loudly hates kids shows.

What happened to darles

You may have noticed I said darles *had* a life apart of the darly boxman show. If you skip past the credits of the youtube video, there's a message.

The current pink city year is 2025. Darles has been missing for ~20 pink city years.

There are canonically 401 darly boxman episodes in universe and the show was running for ~15 years

However, signs are pointing to either darly coming back or hoonis going missing with him.

Since we more or less know how the eyes work with the box head, it's likely that hoonis and darly will interact at some point.

here's some more trivia that I couldn't figure out how to work into this post:

it's a kids show that wasn't really a kids show

I hit the image limit but at some point gooseworx drew darles being dragged somewhere screaming "no I don't wanna go to therapy" with the caption "he was on the verge of a creative breakthrough"

Due to the recent end of secret life I present to you...

A SPREADSHEET!! :D

No but actually I made a spreadsheet to try and figure out how people are placing in the life series so I can make a guesstimate of how they'd place in a regular game, say if the other games were inconsequential, and they had the skills that they have after all the life games.

Ok to start I found out how they placed over every game and put that into a very confusing table (the limited life placing was so annoying :)).

And then I made it easier to tell how they placed with colouring so I could scope roughly how each person plays in every game. Putting it in order of each game would have been too much work, and I think it would be harder to tell anyway.

And then I averaged their places overall, and without third life. Reason for without third life is that it was the first game so their skills weren't at all what they are now, and it was kind of what I'd like to call a warm up. If that makes sense.

Then I averaged those together (a lot of averaging I know :D) and with that created a generalised list of how I think they might place in a game where: they had all their skills from playing the previous games, but also had no memory of previous alliances in the games, or if they had won previous games.

Also I kinda looked at the placing and asked myself who would win in a 1v1. AND I think that gem could easily beat everyone in a 1v1 but she's only been in one game so I put her lower lol.

(oh also, I made last place equal to 20 points because of how the different games have different amounts of players, and figured that would make it more of a fair test)

Sorry for iffy wording throughout this

explaining my thoughts was a tad bit strange :D

Urgent: Help Us Not Get Screwed

Anyone who follows us has seen us screaming from the hill-tops about our current crowdfunding campaign for Aether Beyond the Binary (17 aetherpunk stories! Outside the gender binary main characters!). We've only got 50 hours left...and we just got screwed.

Our Anthology Kickstarter is being scammed.

About two hours ago, with us still roughly $1,500 from our goal, we got a junk pledge for almost $2,000. This pushed us into being marked as "funded" but there is zero chance it's a real pledge, it's from a shell account marked as being in Turkey. This kind of money doesn't just fall like a miracle into the laps of small business like ours.

The timing on this attack is devastating. The final 48 hours of a campaign are absolutely critical, especially for one as close to meeting our goal as we are. We were very likely to hit our target, but doing so was going to require appeals to y'all that started with "hey, we're so close, please help spread the word." Further, the campaign has hundreds of followers who will get a notification at the 48 hour mark, and many who might have backed to help get us to the finish line will now think "oh, they're there, they don't need me," and not back. Meanwhile, one of two things will happen with the spam pledge: either it will get removed by Kickstarter, which could take hours or a day+, totally nuking us during this crucial window, or it won't get removed until the payment bounces post-campaign, at which point we won't actually have enough money to do fulfillment.

Either way, we are fucked.

Please, please don't let these dipshits ruin the love and passion that 30+ people have poured into this project for over a year.

Our campaign IS NOT FUNDED, and it won't be without help. I'm begging, help spread the word about how we're getting screwed, and help spread the word about Aether Beyond the Binary (visit the link for so much info!) so that we can get enough real pledges to fund this project we've poured our hearts and souls into.
