When Chan opened the door, the last thing he expected is a loud squeal of an “Eeeeee!”, followed by a pair of arms wrapping around his waist. He had to immediately look down to make sure it was you — his girlfriend — rather than your family cat which seemed to grow agitated around him every time he visited.

Thankfully, you knew better than to let your cat stay over the night Chris decided to crash at your apartment, because after a long week of trying to get the both of them like each other — safe to say that hadn’t ended well — you were convinced that it was not possible.

You felt the vibrations from the soft giggle he let out as you tightened your grasp around him. “What’s this about?” He asked gently, ruffling your hair as you snuggled closer to his hoodie.

The air smelled of pumpkin-spiced latte and tteokbokki. An odd combination, but it still got his stomach rumbling. Chan hadn’t eaten a decent meal save for ramen at the odd hour in the night.

You looked up, placing your chin against his front and gazed at his features fondly for a quick moment. He'd taken off his vampire makeup, and his eyes looked slightly tired — most likely from his busy day of meeting fans and countless lives.

They still held to them, a sparkle which you always noticed when he was around you. The seemed to pull you in, leaving you in the mystical glory of your own world, completely oblivious to your surroundings.

“Y/N!” Chan calling your name broke you out of your trance.

“Yeah?”

“You didn’t answer my question.” A pause, and Chan understood that you didn’t hear it in the first place. (possibly too busy smothering him with the sudden affection that overcame you). “What is this about?” He repeated, trying oh so desperately hard to not smile like an idiot at... everything about you.

“Oh that!” Do you know how cute you looked in the live!” You squealed, the image of Chan making the tiny biting gesture making you melt. Gently squishing his cheeks, you craned on your tiptoes to leave a peck on his lips, followed by another, and another before giggling. Chan smiled into the kiss, wrapping his hands around your shoulders. “You were so cute eeeeee-”

“Oh gosh,” Chan was shy, which was evident with the way his skin flushed red in color. He stammered over his words. “I-I’m not cute!” His voice was slow yet whiny, gently hiding his head into the crook of your neck as he held you closer, mumbling inaudible words of disapproval as he grew extremely bashful of your actions.

Your heart melted when he acted that way. Over the years, Chan had still, never grown accustomed to any compliments thrown at him. You know that by the way he always pulled the Uno reverse card meme on stays every time they showered him in praises.

You gently pecked his cheek, bringing your arms to lift his head up, staring into his eyes as you pecked the tip of his nose.

“You’re perfect.”

He indeed, was perfect. Everything about him was simply perfection — stunning personality, kind heart, sacrificing — he was everything you could ask for, if not more. You gently combed through his hair, brushing away any strands that landed on his forehead, before sliding it down to rest on his cheek. His eyes glistened with overwhelming love, and you immediately knew what was gonna come next.

“You are ardent on making me shy today, aren’t you?” The both of you had totally forgotten you were still in the hallway. Another affect Chan had — when either of you was around the other, the surroundings simply seemed to blot out of your mind.

“I can’t help it...” You giggled, letting him engulf you into his warm embrace. Chan could feel his heart swell whenever he laid his eyes on you — undoubtedly, he’d let you go off the hook today, but you were definitely more adorable, more pretty, more perfect to him.

“I just saw you in the vlive and-” You squealed once again, overwhelming thrums of love flowing through your fingertips; you itched to show him just how adorable he was — and if it meant rambling, then so be it. “Okay, okay, fine...” He rolled his eyes playfully, leaning down to peck your lips gently. “Should we go in or are we gonna stay in the hallway?” He laughed heartily as you snuggled into his chest.

His hoodie smelt of citrus — made sense, because he used scented detergent. It was warm and cozy, just like him. He always had a way to get you to relax — you felt the tension you didn’t even know was there relieve when he rubbed his thumb against your skin.

“Hmm, if you carry me, because I’m not gonna let go of you. You’re too cute for my heart to handle, mister!”

Chan rolled his eyes yet again, quickly tucking his hands underneath your knees as he hoisted you into his arms. You squeaked, the action too quick for you to process it, before melting into his embrace. “That can be arranged, then.” He said as a matter-of-fact, swinging you back and forth as he led you to the living room.

Once he’d silently set you down onto the couch, he grabbed the glass of pumpkin spiced latte placed on the centre table. So his assumption had been correct — one sip of the liquid warmed him up, through most of it was because of how adorable you looked as you silently gazed at his features.

You could clearly notice the tension in his shoulders — he’d had a rough day, after all. Silently getting up, you ignored Chan’s confused look as you maneuvered yourself behind the couch, resting your hands on his shoulders. “Tough day?” You murmured — though Chan had caught it, massaging gently and eliciting a sigh of relief from Chan.

“Yeah, makeup early in the morning, and then the lives, and the photoshoot. Pretty rough. But I had fun.”

He leaned back when one of your hands trailed up to his hair, gently brushing through it to get rid of any tangles before bending down to press a soft kiss to his forehead. A soft giggle resounded through the space, not long before Chan’s palms cupped your cheeks delicately, pressing your lips together.

Kissing Chan, if anything, was always a wild experience. He always made it so raw, filled with emotion, so intense — yet so tender. He could light up your whole day with a single kiss; or even a single smile. That was how much he meant to you, and he knew it.

Once you pulled away, Chan was quick to tug you around the couch and then pull you into his lap, causing an unceremonious landing. The both of you stared at each other in silence, for one second before erupting into a fit of hearty laughter.

The laughter morphed into a soft hum when you nuzzled your noses together, Chan leaning into your embrace. You were suddenly reminded of another vlive. Every single sight of him was just a constant reminder of how downright adorable he was — especially when he got shy from any compliment aimed at him.

You were particularly soft every time that faint blush would creep up his cheeks, making you want to run your thumb along the high end of his cheekbone, simply to feel the warmth from your words. He was the prettiest man you’d ever seen, inside out. He was such an empathetic person, on top of that — always putting you, or the other person before him. His sacrifices made him so, so special to millions of people and counting.

When you pulled yourself out of your thoughts, Chan’s breath was even where he lied against you. You silently brushed your fingers against his hair, smiling when he purred sleepily against your hoodie. You smelled faintly of pumpkin-spice, and Chan felt surprisingly relaxed at the scent.

A soft giggle left your lips as you rocked him back and forth, feeling the last remnants of sleep consume him as his shoulders sunk down. He must’ve been really tired. When you stopped petting his head, you were surprised to hear the loud whine and a rub of your boyfriend’s head against the fabric of your shirt.

He grew silent once again when you scratched his scalp slightly, leaning into his shoulder to place a soft kiss to his collarbone, and then to his cheek.

“Sleep well, darling.” You cooed in the softest voice, eyes filled with love as you gazed at your lover. “You’re adorable.”

“I heard that!”

He had to ban requests for him to say fans' names in the middle since too many requests were pouring in for him to say their name. Don’t blame them lol.

What do you do in your free time? I eat a lot, sleep a lot, and exercise a lot. Can you donate your Jordan shoes to me? hello!! just thought I'd stop by and say thank u for making content for us!! your little creations help make my day go by a little better :) also I thought I should ask whats your favorite thing about each tbz members if you dont mind? I'm in the mood to adore these boys more! 💞🥰

ahhhh i’m glad i’m able to brighten someone’s day with my content ! that’s all i could ask for ^~^ hmm i might end up writing an essay so here goes:

(also i might mention two things for some just bc 1 is more about them as a person in general and the second thing is about them as performers!)

sangyeon - for sangyeon, it might be a bit on the nose but i really think my favorite thing about him is his leadership, esp when oneus were collabing with tbz on rtk, he has really good people skills and knows how to talk through and guide conversations and group dynamics !

jacob - this is a bit,,, tough ,,, as a performer jacob is a good all-rounder, i absolutely adore his vocals and his dancing and i think he’s one of the strongest members in both categories... in general terms though, my favorite thing really is what everyone probably said too which is how kind, considerate, and angelic he is... i know he said he likes keeping his own problems to himself because he doesn’t want to burden anyone else with it, but then he goes around trying to take a little of everyone else’s problems to try and make them feel better,,, he really loves and cares about everyone around him;;; and he never really complains or take it out on anyone else and i just- ... yea i’m love he :((

younghoon - i think my favorite thing about younghoon is how unique (?) / eccentric he is,,, he tends to think very divergently / outside-of-the-box and considers stuff i never would have even dreamed of coming up with,,, and he’s just proud and unapologetic about it too ! he’s silly but bright and i think that’s the really cool thing about him :))

hyunjae - my fav thing about hyunjae is his tendency for acts of service ...? if that makes sense,,, he uses actions to express things just as much as his words ;;; like he did this vlive with haknyeon once where he adjusted the camera to include hak even tho it wasn’t intended to be a two person vlive anyway, or on chanhee’s bday vlive where he told off bbangkyu for blocking chanhee,,, it’s really just how much he tires his best to take care of others even when he’s jokingly teasing them despite it !

juyeon - my fav thing about juyeon is his ... what i’d call a perfect combination of self confidence and humbleness haha,,, he knows his strong points and he knows how to utilize them best and to his advantage but he never lets it inflate his ego bc that’s just how down-to-earth he is :,,))) you can kind of tell in the way the other members always prank him but he’s just so trusting of the people around him, he never shows off without immediately getting a bit shy after and i think that’s very admirable and wholesome of him :,)

kevin - HHHH okay let’s see... my favorite superficial thing about kevin is this one smile he has where,,, when someone says something he finds funny or he’s talking to fans and he smiles so wide it looks like his cheekies are about to burst from how happy he is and ..... yea ok i’m- going to say something serious now,,, this is also from his gen z interview video but i think the thing that i love the most about kevin is just how aware he is... of those around him,,, during mafia games for example, he’s always peace keeping and giving members the chance to defend themselves and he’s always trying his best to adjust his own behavior to fit in with what he thinks other people want ;;;; and i just,,, really adore him for that,,, i hope he can feel comfy and unapologetically himself too of course, and i think he is when he’s drawing and being artistically active and so i’m just *heart eyes* i guess *sigh*

chanhee - hands down my favorite thing about chanhee as a performer is his voice... i talk about this a lot bc i was a choir kid for 4 years but, chanhee is a spectacular vocalist, and his voice is so distinctive too,,, falsetto king, he’s got this light airy / breathy timbre and it’s so beautiful to me ;;;; and his. adlibs!!!!! as a person... this is actually really difficult for me to put into words bc i just want to say my fav thing about chanhee is he’s tinie LOL but what i mean by that is,,, he’s got this,,, delicate sensitivity ? idk i feel like we’re similar in many ways which is probably my fav thing about him,,, he clings to the other members despite their teasing but he always tries his best to avoid embarrassing stuff and he’s introverted ... ok yea please give me one pass i cannot pick just one fav thing about chanhee i am a mess

changmin - hmm i think my favorite thing about changmin is just how genuine he is,,, i think he likes to just... talk ! about anything he wants which is why he goes on vlive so often, and i’ve noticed he is pretty straightforward and says stuff directly ! it’s not a bad thing i admire him a lot for it, actually, he really just talks with so much open honesty about how he feels and what he thinks that it’s almost second nature to him... i really love just listening to him talk about anything honestly his vlives are like having 3am conversations over the phone with your best friend... that kind of feeling

haknyeon - THIS IS THE HARDEST T^T i love so many things about haknyeon... ok as a performer, my favorite thing about haknyeon is how adaptable he is and how he completely (?) absorbs a concept,,, like it doesn’t matter if it’s cute like keeper or darker like reveal,,, he fully embodies whatever concept it is almost to the point you would never guess how he is irl,,, i really think he’d make a great actor just bc his stage presence is so powerful and convincing and his facial expressions are killer... as a person,,, i think my favorite thing is something i’ve talked about before but he has this natural wonderment in his worldview... i think it’s his confidence like he talked about in the generation z video but he treats everything as something new he can learn from,,, he gets so so excited over the smallest things and is easily intrigued by anything and everything around him and he treats it all as a personal challenge, like if he tried hard enough he could do literally anything (i compare him to a cat going outside of its house for the first time and getting to see a butterfly that kind of vibe ;;;;)

sunwoo - my favorite thing about sunwoo is how caring he is ? i’m not sure a lot of people catch it but despite his endless clowning and bullying of the other members, he’s also always one of the first members to praise them or shower them in compliments. he’s also so whipped for all of them T-T he (mostly) always laughs at any of their jokes, dumb as they may be, or agrees with whatever they’re saying, the teasing and shading is all a front almost :,)) it’s really cute of him

eric - my favorite thing about eric is his pure earnest enthusiasm for everything,,, i know all the tbz members work their hardest at everything they do as performers, but eric,,, he tries his hardest and then 54396 times more,,, i think it comes from him being the youngest member maybe, but he works so hard at anything and everything, may it be games or performing... he just acts as if he’s always trying to prove something, our energy eric T^T ! he never lets up even for a second and i adore him so much for that, goofball that he may be !

Sneaking into the back of the group right after they gave their opening speech, she grinned wide as Oneus happily started shouting about their 1 year anniversary. Just to keep up appearances, she started jumping around with them and then decided to tackle an unsuspecting Seoho who fell into Hwanwoong who yelped and jumped away from his hyung. “Yah! ANGEL!” They were shouting at once as she just laughed maniacally.

She was pulled off Seoho who happily took in a few extra breaths to calm his erratically beating heart, and was tackled into a hug herself. She squealed in surprise and grabbed on to Keonhee to make sure they both didn’t fall over. “Why hello Loves!” She giggled as she looked at each of their smiling faces.

For the next five minutes while on the vlive, she was wrapped around Keonhee and they were both gently rocking back and forth, her cheek pressed against his. At one point she even started to creepily stroke his hair while staring wide eyed at the camera to creep out people. "'Why is Angel touching Oppa like that?' Like what-Noona!" Dongju pouted over at her when he saw she was giving his hyung more attention than him.

She grinned smugly and squeezed tight around her child while sticking her tongue out at the maknae. "You're next Baby-Boy don't worry." She giggled.

'Is Unni dating one of the members and that's why she's around so much? GASP, is she dating RAVN???! They would be so cute together!!!!'

She blinked as Youngjo flushed a dark shade of red. “N-No we’re not dating! We’re all just friends! Sh-She’s a really good friend out ours and has been around s-since the weekly idol episode.” He stuttered out, hiding his face behind his hands when he was done because of how pathetic of an excuse it sounded like.

Róisín released Keonhee for a moment so she could walk over to the leader and wrap him up in a big hug, squealing at the adorableness that is him. “Oh man you’re so adorable!” She gushed, barely refraining herself from kissing his cheek until they were able to move the camera off their faces.

‘Noona is so pretty! Every time she’s in videos she’s a goddess! Marry me!’

Róisín chuckled and simply winked at the camera, giving out a couple of finger hearts. “As lovely as that comment is, today isn’t about me. It’s about my babies celebrating their 1st anniversary as Oneus! It should be about them today! Not me!” She replied to the comment, blowing a kiss to the camera right after.

To help her stay true to that comment, she moved behind the camera and gently took if off the stand it was on. Then made the decision that she would record the boys as they did their own thing so they wouldn’t have to stand in one spot the entire time. “Okay, here’s what we’ll do. Boys, what would you like to do now?” She asked them, smiling at them all behind the camera as they looked at her in slight confusion.

She then slowly started backing away from them, glancing behind her every couple seconds to make sure she wouldn’t accidentally trip over anything while recording the boys who started following after her in curiosity and concern. “Noona, don’t hurt yourself.” Dongju said softly, following directly behind her.

She giggled and nodded her head at him. “Don’t worry about me, I’m fine. Let’s get you guys out of this stuffy hallway.” She said cryptically, opening up the door to their dance studio.

She closed the door quickly and managed to rush to the other side of the room with the phone, mumbling to the people to bear with her for a second as she got herself situated, wanting to prepare for when the boys stepped through the door and get good shots of their faces. Once they were all stepping through the door, their jaws practically dropped to the floor in their surprise. “What the-how?” Some of them asked, looking around the room at the decorations.

Róisín managed to maneuver the phone so she was also in the shot, grinning happily at the camera and keeping an eye on the boys. “I may have spoken to your manager and asked to surprise you guys with a little something.” She said, accomplishment written all over her face.

The boys happily rushed around the room, looking at all the decorations and even checking out some of the snacks she’d managed to sneak in for them, gasps and squeals echoing around. “Isn’t this from America/! How’d you get it over here?!” Keonhee gasped out, holding up something small in his hands.

She giggled before setting the camera on another stand in the room, keeping it upright before she rushed over to her baby to tackle him into her arms again. Because if she wasn’t holding onto him then she had no way of living. “How else would I get it Love? Maeve.” She responded easily with a shrug.

Everyone knew about her mimi. They didn’t exactly know WHO she was, but the name always clicked in everyone’s minds similar to ‘oh if Maeve did it,’ or maybe ‘Maeve is the secret to everything.’ Róisín loved the fact that her mimi was getting as much recognition as she was through stories and comments alone. It was heartwarming that everyone took such a liking to the teachings Maeve had brought to her growing up. But enough about that woman, the look on Keonghee’s face when she said the name made her laugh out loud and shake in her amusement to the point she almost fell to the ground in a fit had Gunhak not been by her at the perfect moment.

She wrapped an arm around the guy and grinned at him, seeing the happily and boyish grin on his face at receiving this sort of a surprise from his noona. “Best day ever.” He mumbled into her ear, ignoring the whining of Keonhee beside him.

She smiled back as Gunhak then started walking away to go play some games with the others. While she was getting ready to follow him over, Keonhee wrapped himself up in her arms again so the two had to waddle over to the group. Hwanwoong was laughing at the way they were walking before she gave him a look and opened her arms up for him to join. He ran in without a second thought and made the two’s huddle into a three person hug. As they were up to their normal shenanigans, the other four were busy setting up the floor for whatever game it was they had in mind.

But before they were able to start the game, Youngjo looked over at the camera and gave it a large wave, which gained the attention of the others so they were all waving into the camera, saying their goodbyes. “Thank you for joining us on this brief moment of celebration! There will be more videos and photos later!” Róisín shouted over the rest of the group, smiling wide as Seoho rushed up to turn the camera off, blowing a kiss to the fans before he did so.

Once the camera was off and they didn’t have to keep up appearances, the whole room seemed to slump down with groans and some whines thrown in, while Róisín herself continued to prance around as if she were still on camera. “How do you have the energy to stay so….hyper?” Keonhee asked with a groan at seeing her twirling around in place.

She just smiled back and winked at him. “That’s my little secret, that you will learn soo enough my dear. Now then, who’s up for some REAL partying?” She asked, pulling out a secret stash hidden away under the table cloth so the viewers wouldn’t find it through the screen.

The whole group either cheered or laughed in excitement at the booze she held in her hand. Because what kind of celebration would it be if they weren’t able to drink and toast to it? She even bought something for Dongju who was still unable to drink alcohol with the rest of the group. “Here you go Love, I know it’s not like the good stuff, but I really don’t want to be THAT BAD of an influence on you.” She mumbled as soon as she saw the pout on his lips.

Youngjo was just sighing in relief at not having to put on a fake appearance and smiled only a little once he saw the interactions between her and the group. It was so natural, as if she’d been with them since the beginning. He was certainly grateful to her for being there for them through most of their hardships., especially ones where even he felt like giving up. Maybe that’s why she was so insistent on being around them; she knew how tough it was to be an idol, and she didn’t want them to bear the burden alone, like she mostly did. With that thought in mind, he grabbed some of the drinks from her and grinned wide at the group. “How about we change up the venue and take this back to the dorms? I’m sure Manager wouldn’t mind too much. Plus we would already be home in case something happened.” He suggested to everyone.

The collective nods he received from everyone gave him another wave of relief so he was able to sigh softly and then nod towards the room. “Okay, let’s pack this all up and clean up before leaving. Then we can go.” He called out, gaining 5 more sets of hands, and a very concerned redhead who tried sneaking her way out of the room.

She glanced down at the imaginary watch on her wrist and bit her lip, mentally counting seconds to make it seem as realistic as possible. “Oh, damn. Would you look at the time. I’ve gotta go...uh….feed my cats!” She suddenly shouted, running from the room and closing the door behind her quickly so she wouldn’t be chased down as fast.

Youngjo chased after her, hellbent on getting her to stay when he stopped in the hallway, wondering just what he was doing. Instead, he watched her as she grabbed out her phone and smiled a little at the screen. It took him a couple seconds to figure out something to do, and grabbed his own phone out quickly.

“Thanks again for what you did for us today. The guys really enjoyed the party even if you didn’t stick around for too long. I’ll see you around Beautiful.”

The moment he put his phone away he looked up to see her, and the reaction she gave was not one to disappoint. She smiled again at the screen and scrunched her nose a little before glancing around her to see if anyone was watching. Luckily he had enough sense to hide behind the wall so she couldn’t see him. What she did next definitely surprised him. She grabbed out a ring from her pocket, slid it onto her finger, put the ring next to her face while setting her phone screen up to take a photo. Then when she thought the shot looked good enough, snapped a photo and sent it off to him with a caption.

He checked his phone to see what the photo was and smiled as he saw her gorgeous smile, pink hues faintly dusting her cheeks as her hand was up in the pose of a peace sign, showing off the large ring she had on her finger she’d pulled out of her pocket moments before. He looked at it in surprise and then groaned when he realized it wasn’t on his hand anymore. She’d snatched his favorite ring! The one she gave him for Christmas!

“I’ll give it back to you when I know for certain we’ll hang out again. Let me know when you have time off! ;)”

his plump lips and the way they curl upwards a bit and it makes them look so c u t e but they’re also a bit sexy???

he speaks so confidently in korean even though it’s not his native language! one would think it is by the way he never stutters or has a loss for words but it’s just because of his never-ending friendliness and confidence that’s a part of his personality

remember the rolling paper event during the 127 1st anniversary party? all of johnny’s messages were the longest ones and were so heartfelt and sincere. he really poured his entire heart while writing those and that only shows just how much he loves his members

his role inside the group may seem unimportant but he’s one of the few people holding the group together. there is taeyong as the leader, but johnny is like a leader from the shadows who puts everyone before himself first - and it is not easy to do

he cares for the foreign members so, so much. out of all the nct members, he’s been in sm the longest and as a foreigner he understands and knows what it’s like to suddenly be in a completely new country surrounded by nothing but strangers. he kept on conversing with ten, both in english and in korean, so ten would feel more comfortable and he’s the main reason ten’s korean has gotten so much better. also, he takes so much patience with the chinese members who have language barriers with both him and the rest of nct and never fails to correct them when they say something wrong or when they can’t think of a word/phrase to say. when they were touring seoul, he was always next to lucas and closely listening to how lucas speaks so that he can help him learn better!!

johnny knows how to flirt and seduce but what he doesn’t know is how to act afterwards so the embarrassment that comes after he says something cringy is just the most adorable think ever (take “do you have a boyfriend?” ig video for an example). he’s just so awkward and he can’t compliment someone without blushing ;(

also oh boy, johnny is just so bad at lying like fksjshksh he can’t keep a secret to save a life. were we, nctzens, not so dumb, we’d get so many spoilers he accidentally gave lmao

while we’re at this, he also can’t have a nice phone because he literally doesn’t care about it, hE THREW IT IN THE FLOOR in that one video, isn’t that enough as it IS

also,,,,,,he put a metal fidget spinner on its screen and somehow expected it not to break?????? just how lovable this idiot is.

when jimin was a little girl, her mother developed the habit of calling her her little angel because she was generous and kindhearted in a way that was rare for this world. the older she got, the more that affect declined and by the time she’d hit puberty, jimin was a more reserved and collected version of her younger self. she’d had to grow up quickly, miss out on the freedom of childhood and the luxury of living without stress or responsibility. back then, she’d called it doing what she had to do to keep food on the table, but looking back on it now, jimin wishes she’d had the opportunity to live a little more before she signed her life away. nothing about growing up had been fair but she considers that aspect of her childhood a part of what’s made her so strong today. jimin is a fighter in every aspect of the word: resilient and capable, strong and unaffected when the situation calls for it. strong, above all else.

from the day jimin is born things are different for her. she’s the youngest of two, the baby sister to an older brother who her mother adores. jinsung, five years her senior, is disabled - “defective” in the words of her father - due to a genetic disorder that had rendered him dependent and nonverbal, so from the moment she’s able, jimin plays a role in taking care of both her brother and herself. she helps him tie his shoes in the morning, brushes his hair and his teeth and makes sure he’s fed before she does the same for herself. it isn’t something she resents - at least not in the beginning, it’s all that she knows. she’s okay with it, happy to help the brother she loves so much live an easier life. to this day, some of her fondest memories are of her singing lullabies to her brother by his bedside and the two of them fumbling through the words of children’s books together before it’s time for bed.

the only person who seemed to have a problem with the arrangement was her father and, in some ways, jimin could hardly blame him. he’s a metalworker, a working class man in a society that thrives on the making and movement of money, and it’s hardly cheap to pay for the medication and machinery that jinsung needs to survive. it doesn’t help that jimin’s mother’s job is only part time due to the hours she needs to invest in taking care of their son and now their young daughter. there are too many mouths to feed and, truthfully, not enough to go around. so, one day he leaves- in the middle of the night, without so much as a goodbye, but he’s gracious enough to leave behind enough for them to buy groceries for the week, the keys to his rusted pick-up truck that he’d spent the better part of a year trying to restore.

jimin had been nine at the time and her mother, well, she’d been desperate.

it doesn’t take long for her mother to start taking jimin to open casting calls for child performers, signing her up for local competitions with cash prizes with hopes that she’ll walk away with enough to float them through to the next month. it’s not too bad, she reasons, because jimin likes to sing, she enjoysbeing in the spotlight, but above all her helpful nature won’t let her complain about it, because she hates the idea of letting anyone down more than anything. it’s a bitter truth, the knowledge that this is the way things have to be because her mom can’t take on any extra hours without having to pay someone to help care for jinsung as well. it’d be a money sink. she’s too young for this, but. she persists.

she’s lucky when she lands a small commercial role at the bright age of ten and even luckier when she wins a local singing competition at age eleven. before long it seems like jimin has taken on the role of breadwinner, as young as she is, keeping her family fed and healthy while juggling school and childhood friendships as best as she can. there’s little time for play when there’s singing to be done, when she could learn a little dancing for free from the older girls in the neighborhood who practice choreography from groups like STAT1C and Jubilee - irony’s her favorite to memorize. the next four years of her life are spent improving until she’s a force to be reckoned with.

at age fourteen, she goes into msg’s singing competition with the hopes that there’s an immediate cash payout for runner up that would help with the bills back home, but when she wins, the stakes are upped into changing her family’s way of living altogether. she’s part surprised and half completely expecting it. she could cry. god, she deserves this.

she doesn’t even have to beg when it comes time for her mother to sign the contract.

training to become an idol really starts out as a means to an end and it really feels that way for a long time, her daily schedule of taking the bus and the train to get to the msg company building, spending her every waking moment that wasn’t being spent doing school work or other side jobs to endure evaluations and diet suggestions (read: demands) so that she could be what they were looking for, and then trudging home in the dead of night hoping that she’d be picked. eventually she is, she watches CHERRYBOMB! thrive, watches the debut of girl groups in other companies and nearly loses her drive but then - she’s chosen. they call them something stupid that she’s since forgotten but she vividly remembers the feeling of this longshot becoming a reality.

they become mayday.

fast forward to debut and she still can’t believe it, floats on cloud nine and shakes hands with all the stars she can hardly believe are real. it’s not like she thought it would be, becoming a somebody, even if she’s only one somebody in a group of five. she doesn’t linger in it, though, because this is when the work truly begins. the first few months feel like a blur of music show performances and introductions, of vlive specials and instagram lives, but she quickly gets the hang of it. she likes this, having eyes on her, she gets good at selling the fantasy to those who’ll watch. she feels it the most when her birthday comes and goes and there’s a hashtag in her honor.

on camera, she’s angel. she lets jimin worry about the other stuff, the money and the rehearsals and the soundchecks and the recordings and the practice and the aches in the balls of her feet and the demanding schedules. she lets jimin think about home. angel’s got plans.

her time as an idol so far has given her a taste of what could be but she knows better than to get too greedy - not yet, anyway. even with msg’s restrictions, she feels freer, younger than she ever has, learns to harden her exterior into something impenetrable because it’s what the people want. the people want perfect and unattainable and angel wants to be a star, hopes the pull of success will quiet the phantom puffs of hot air on the back of her neck when she remembers what this is for, hopes it quiets the pinch of guilt she feels when she swallows it down and ignores her mother’s calls when life gets to be too much.

it feels good to be selfish.

my biggest i love monsta x ever!!!!

no offence but if u had told me a year ago that these seven boys would have had this much of an impact on my life and not only that but i still love them as much now as i did on day one (maybe even more) i’d say u were lying. usually my interests come and go in phases and nothing has ever lasted as long as mx???? but i rly truly cannot imagine my life without them at this point. in fact, the 2-3 months at the very beginning of uni where i stopped having time for them and thought i was moving on were the worst of this year (ofc that wasn’t the only reason those months were hard, but feeling like i was falling out of love w mx hurt more than id care to admit). they’ve brought me so much happiness and connected me with so many amazing people and not 2 be cheesy but made me into a better person! like they just continue to have the biggest positive influence in my life and i got the opportunity to meet one of my best friends bc of them, i’ll forever be thankful for them

i know i havent been w mx since the beginnign but!!!! even just seeing shownu grow so much this year has made me sooooo happie!!!!!! i Love how u can just see he’s more comfortable now and seems a lot more at ease……..the fact that hes comfortable enough to host his own solo vlives and no offence but theres not a single thing i dont love abt that man! hes so fucking funny….like its sorta weird humor?? dad humor almost? BUT HES HONESTLY FUNNY WITHOUT EVEN TRYING hes just reached a point where he’s got no filter and will just say whatever and sometimes even the wording will make me laugh dkjfhkjsd the true underrated comedian of the group tbh. hes so selfless too bicht………….i still cant believe he split the money from his solo event w the other members My Heart :-((((((( and when hes on a solo schedule he’s always mentioning the others!!! nd doesnt let anyone forget abt them, they rly are one big family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ALSO HIS SMILE is the cutest shit ive ever seen!!!!! like when he smiles rlllly big nd his eyes crinkle nd he :D and his big “ha ha ha” ,,,,music 2 my ears!!!!!!!! i wish he could be that happy forever. hes the biggest softest teddy bear i just wanna give him a giant hug???

fun fact wonho was the first member i knew abt nd was able to recognize nd such!! my friend who helped me get into mx talked abt him a lot so i grew to love him before i even knew the others!!! actually hes probably still the one i know the most abt bc of her? anyways! angels exist and wonho is living proof of that! his love for mbbs is on a whole other plane of existance???? ive never felt this loved nd appreciated as a fan before nd its all genuine!!!!!. wonho is a monbebebebe first and a monsta second. hes just so full of love….im convinced thats why hes so Large he needs to fit his heart in his body somehow...hes just got so much love to give!!!!!!! he is the most thoughtful and caring person??? like not even towards monbebes and his memebrs but like at the end of mxray when he made sure to buy all the staff and crew little gifts as well, my heart grew 3 sizes for him!!!!!! and im so soo soooooooooooooosososooo proud of him to have some of his songs on the albums this year and not only that but! from zero getting a stage on tv!!!!!! his song!!!! he did that!!!!!! his hard work paid off….i hope he continues to be able to produce more music this year! oh one last thing, i love how? childish he is??? idk if thats the right word but hes always teasing or changing or playing around w the other members and hes always being goofy and laughing and it just makes my heart!!!!! rly happy nd warm
