Hi could you talk more about why youd recommend not watching ww84?
Sure!
warnings for under the cut: spoilers for WW84 and a bit of the first wonder woman; i only saw WW84 once a few days ago + it’s been a hot sec since i saw the original so if i get a few details wrong i apologize
tl;dr with no spoilers: WW84 is a poorly executed movie that insults its viewer with its messy and self-proud plot, bad character/relationship portrayals, and offers a personal slap in the face to a majority of its audience in their various discriminations, generalizations, and plot points.
the first point is the racism, made well by the post i reblogged here, (edit: found a second post that goes more in depth here) so i’d just suggest looking at that for that matter
next is just How they portray wonder woman in this one
i really appreciated the way the first movie portrayed diana because they did very well in keeping true to her Amazonian raising and life while still clearly showing she was a woman
when i say this i mean that a lot of media has a tendency to either make women who are very fem and keep to traditional gender roles or women who more or less shun femininity and attempt to largely fulfill only male gender roles
diana in the original is a warrior, strong and fierce, but still a woman, not trying to shun that or anything. she wears styles that suit her while still being woman’s styles (she doesn’t force her way into a suit), she talks of and addresses her womanhood proudly and without issue, etc
i want to note here i have no issue with female characters who act extremely masc and reject femininity- i love them tbh- but it’s important to remember that it’s not inherently against womanhood or anything to be a strong fighter who doesn’t stick to every stereotypical social gender norm
and the first wonder woman movie shows this very well
WW84... oh boy
first of all, wonder woman’s changing outfits every other scene. even between scenes where it makes no sense! i’m not saying she can only wear one set of clothes but Geez this was too much
not to mention an entire scene dedicated to her helping steve pick a fashion look? i understand this was to highlight the ‘80-ness of the movie, and it would’ve been fine if it seemed diana was helping him pick a period appropriate look, but it was clear she was trying to help him pick a ‘fashionable’ look which. wonder woman? from the island without a sense of popular outfits or fashion? what?
and the amount of focus on her wearing high heels.... ugh
i’m not saying you can’t have a badass woman who also likes social gender norm fem things but it felt clear that wasn’t what they were going for
wonder woman in the first movie liked practical fashion and not only were many of her outfits not that, her high heels? one hundred percent not practical
it didn’t fit her character and felt horribly out of place, clearly just the producers / directors / whoever going ‘oh, wonder woman is a woman how can we show this? fashion! high heels!’ and i hated it
(warning: imma be jumping from thought to thought as they bump into each so uh... enjoy the train-of-thought style of flaw informing)
and starting at the beginning like.... wow that scene had no purpose
wonder woman cheats in a competition and is punished for this by losing it in the end. except. this is stupid for two reasons
as the audience is shown she didn’t cheat on purpose. she made a mistake, lost her horse, and made a strategy to get back into the race despite this. honestly? i thought the story was going to be a lesson in ingenuity in the worst looking situations. but it wasn’t, which is bad storytelling, because the lesson is then based on a point that isn’t even that true
it is literally Never important again later. unless you count what was going on with the wishstone as ‘cheating to victory’ which i dont. that’s not even what the villain did. he wanted to take over the world. there’s no victory there you get without cheating. wtf. why did that message even happen
going into the actual story we meet the cheetah pretty quick, when she’s still whatever-her-civilian-name-is
and the cheetah... she’s such a bad villain
she doesn’t have the same backstory as she does in the comics
in this one, she uses the wishstone- which is a whole ‘nother thing in and of itself- to wish to be like diana, because ig being smart as hell but social awkward as hell too is so bad you need to desperately wish to be someone else? i hate that trope, but onwards-
she gets that, but in exchange for not only diana’s likable personality she also gets her wonder woman powers (and she loses her glasses, because pretty and cool means no glasses, right? /s), she loses her kindness bc of the rules of the wishstone- in exchange for your wish, it takes smth u care about a lot from you; for her, it was her kindness
this makes her villain! just because she lost her kindness. yep. honestly not a good look regarding all those people out there who are low/no empathy and can still be wonderful nice people but i digress
at one point she complains about why she needs to keep her power rather than go back to being just Her and i fucking wanted to scream
she has like. half a dozen degrees, clearly a couple of friends even if she’s awkward, and she’s got a life that was perfectly okay before she made the wish. as someone who is also socially awkward as hell, it infuriated me to here her acting like it was the fucking end of the world she couldn’t be more extroverted or whatever. there are ways to work on that!!! the movie trying to convince the audience she had a legit reason to not un-wish her wish (for the good of the entire world) was stupid and insulting
also her transformation between ‘looks human, wearing cheetah-pattern clothing‘ to ‘humanoid with cheetah fur/skin/appearance’ literally just. happened. for no reason. that was stupid
y’know what else is stupid? the wishstone. it was clearly just a plot device, and a poorly executed one at that. it isn’t even consistent in how it works
and they did a whole side thing with like. how it had the language of the gods written on part of it and it appeared in random locations across history around the time of great tragedies and,,, that was it???
they never explored the divine connection??? who planted it or why??? how it location traveled or anything????
like i said. poor plot device
i move on now to steve
oh boy steve
he’s brought back to life by diana’s wish on the wishstone, but... it causes him to come back in someone else’s body, quantum leap style. this is. weird. and is never ever addressed by him or wonder woman except once in a throw away comment. like. diana and steve kiss and are implied to have sex while steve is in someone else’s body and neither of them seem to care. this is not good!!
and then his relationship with diana? HORRIBLE
in the first movie they were barely starting to fall in love, only barely a couple even if that. more importantly they were friends, and that night he died diana didn’t lose a potential lover so much as she lost her first non-Amazonian friend
but WW84 portrays their relationship as if they were not only already a couple, but one close enough that even after forty years since steve’s death diana is still completely and hopelessly in love with him to the point that she’s literally hanging off his arm as soon as he’s back and making love that very night
it plays again once more into the misrepresentation of wonder woman’s character (how stereotypically hollywood female to fall over herself at the sight of her love interest) and it wrecks their relationship, which had been a lovely friends-who-could-be-more
what they should’ve done was focus on that friendship, build it back up after the long gap for wonder woman, and then started to rebuild that possible romance (and tear it down at the perfect moment... right when steve had to go again... ah that would’ve been lovely)
but they wanted to go in full-haul on the romance and it just felt. wrong and weak to me. diana’s refusal to consider giving up her wish (to get her powers back and save the world) is bc she doesn’t want to let steve go again, which makes more sense in the context of a first and true friend rather than a hastily slapped together love interest
steve’s character was generally good tbh but the way he played into the story? bad
moving on... the main villain of the movie? sucks. he’s just. fucking awful
despite a motivation being given that he wants to have money, he launches into wanting to take over the world for no real reason. he takes advantage of people for this and almost destroys the world he wants to rule for it. the main reason he stops this is for his son, who up until now he largely ignored and didn’t seem to care that much for outside of basic obligations. and the movie dares try to make him sympathetic by throwing in the fact he grew up poor and was bullied and not liked which i HATE
lots of people are/have been poor. lots of people are/have been bullied (myself included). that does NOT justify them DESTROYING THE WORLD TRYING TO TAKE IT OVER. can it be used to show the audience why he does what he does? yes. but to use it and clearly try to make it a reason to hand-wave-away what he did? NO. FUCK NO
also fucking. y’know how wonder woman took down this villain? she talked to him and the world. she gave a stirring speech while she laid slumped against a wall, not injured, just too weak to beat a bit of wind. she talked and she looped her lasso around his leg so she could talk to the world to to convince them to give up their wishes
once again... the mischaracterization
in the first movie, wonder woman gives a stirring speech while fighting Areas. it’s done in her battle, beating the god of war up while reminding him of what she stood for, who she was, why she would keep fighting for a broken world
it was BEAUTIFUL. it was MEANINGFUL. it was BADASS but SINCERE
this was weak. and it clearly wanted to be more than it was
the whole movie wants to be more than it is- it wants to have an important meaningful message like the first movie, about wishes for the self and war and the world and whatever. and it wants it so badly it does it horribly
the message is ham-handed yet messy and unclear and not right. it doesn’t make sense, and it feels poorly plotted. the movie thinks it’s more than it is and that makes it very hard to watch
and to finish my rant off... WW84 lied to its audience
did you see any ads for WW84? i did. they were bright, vibrant, funky music, stunning moments, action and intrigue. i was thrilled for a movie like it
the actual movie isn’t that
it’s not nearly as action filled, it’s not as ‘80s-focused as it leads you to believe, some of the most prominently featured moments barely matter
the lightning swing? pointless, as at that point in the movie wonder woman’s learned how to fly and does it for no reason but the trailers
and that cool suit? introduced in a random myth for no reason halfway through the movie, brought in at random with no explanation, only there for show and the trailers
WW84 is not the movie is lead people to believe it was, and the movie it is is poorly executed and insulting to a variety of peopler/minorities
if you’re gonna watch it, pirate it. i can give you a link. just don’t give dc your money or your legit views for it

sirinoel: trapped in the past
setting: after the mishap at the horror storytelling session. words: 2,448. content warning: descriptions of organs/disturbing imagery. characters: sirius gibson, noel levine, claire elford this was originally intended to be platonic, but i don’t mind for it to be romantically interpreted! enjoy :)
It is not unfamiliar to Sirius how ostracized 'witches’ are by the world around him. He wouldn't know if a person before him was a heinous witch, nor would he take out his frustrations on someone in the first place, unlike the many members of the public that did so without hesitation. It was the way of the society before him - witch, bad. Nicholas, mayor of Ribecca, good. Although Sirius knew that execrable man was buried 6 feet under, his distaste for him still sat sour on his tongue.
To him, and him only, he was the villain, and she was his hero. Lady Dorothy, who had taken him in, shown him love. Surely, someone as compassionate as her would be rendered a good person in society - he was doubtful he was the only one with whom Lady Dorothy had shown kindness. And yet like puppets on a string, the public ate up the artificial story like a moth to a flame. She went down in history as an unwelcome demon.
So of course it was reasonable for Sirius to be upset, yes? Though the curses he had spat out whilst bombarding Ashe with feeble kicks and punches may have been unnecessary, the words of disdain that had slipped out the researchers mouth was deemed a perfect excuse to shut him up. It was explainable that the others would defend him, given his reaction, and yet here Sirius sat, gaze fixated on his hands which were quivering in response to the thoughts that seemed to be burning into his mind.
It was the only thing he wanted to look at. He was sure if he glanced up to pay mind to some inanimate object, he would witness the horrific incident 12 years ago for a second time, where Lady Dorothy had so hastily departed from his life. Organs spread along the walls, gouged out eyes scattered as if they were merely childlike toys - as if the room in which multiple people died were a playroom. Blood, blood, so much blood. The smell was suffocating.
And lo and behold, he was alone. Alone in this wretched room. Most days, he would find solace in his own company, but now it felt like his own shadow was taunting him from another world, prompting him to think of 'what if's despite the tragedy having been over for a long time.
She would come back, he told himself. No matter how long he would have to wait, his heroine would come back and he would prove them all wrong.
"Just keep calm... it's over. She will come back." He whispered, willing himself to keep the tears down, to keep the 12 years of trauma secreted. Honestly, the one moment he wished to let out his emotions, and there were people inhabiting the once lonesome mansion. The size of the place made it so he was confident that he wouldn't be heard, but given the circumstances he didn't have much doubt someone would come to say some pointless words.
Consolation, resentment, neither mattered to him. Simple sympathetic platitudes wouldn't cure his unhappiness.
And as he seemed to predict the future, there came a couple of knocks that snapped him out of his stupor. Followed by a few moments of silence, and then they began for a second time, accompanied by calls for him by two familiar sounding voices.
At this hour? Sirius grumbled to himself, forcing himself to look to the clock. Luckily for him, the sudden spikes of dissonance had grounded him back to reality, and Lady Dorothy's bedroom appeared as it was mere minutes ago. No mustached man pointing a revolver at him, no intestines thrown around as if they were party streamers.
He was safe. And he hoped this would remain, as he promptly stood up to answer the door. Hands still trembling ever-so-slightly, he rubbed his face, just in case some tears had fallen astray without his knowledge. With hesitance, he twisted the knob and opened it slowly.
"Sirius!" Ah, it was Noel and Claire. Predictable.
"Siriuuus!!" Claire exclaimed, overjoyed to see his presence for some reason he fails to comprehend. Combined with Noel's excited smile, the two of them being here, and Claire's usual jubilant demeanor despite the dreary circumstances... frankly, Sirius was baffled.
"Ugh, what's wrong with you two? Do you know what time it is?" He grumbled, a scowl set on his face per usual.
"Wah! Sorry!" came Claire's apology.
"We're sorry!" Noel added. Honestly, the two of them are still doing this?
"...What are you here for?" Sirius decided on saying, his expression softening as he gazed over his two childhood friends.
"...We were worried..." Noel replied, rubbing his arm with his left hand meekly. He chuckled weakly with a small smile. "Haha, though I guess you're okay... Hm?"
Unwarranted, Noel took a step closer to Sirius, squinting with concentration as he analyzed the smaller males face. Aforementioned smaller male was definitely not having the best night - and in response to this, took a step back.
"Whatever do you think you're doing? I'm fine, see?" He scowled. Maintaining eye contact, Sirius could see (even with only one side of his face) that Noel had found what he was searching for.
"...Have you been crying?"
...What?
"...Huh?"
"Your eyes are swollen... and you're a little red." Noel continued with a worried expression, gaze still centered on Sirius' face.
"Oh, dear!" Claire exclaimed, moving forward to stand adjacent to her light-haired companion. "Are you sure you're okay? Can we come in? I'm great at cheering people u-"
"I don't want your flimsy condolence!" Sirius waved a hand dismissively, his face heating up. "I'm fine. I don't need to be consoled. You'd do well to just leave me be."
"Whaaat?! That's not true! Everybody wants help when they're upset, right?" Claire argued obliviously, placing her hands on her hips. Seems she had yet to figure out when Sirius was genuine, that at certain times talking back was deemed a personal attack. Her energy then dulled as she fixed her stare on Sirius' face with a smaller smile than before - one that was sympathetic rather than joyful. "We're here for you, okay? You can tell us-"
"What part of 'leave me alone' do you fail to comprehend?! You're as thickheaded as you've always been- everything was just FINE before you decided to come back!" Sirius shot back angrily, his hands balling into a fist as he progressively got frustrated.
"...Come back?"
Ah, shoot. A slip of the tongue - as composed as he usually was, Sirius found himself seething at her words that likely had good intent - and had so senselessly spat out things he had wished to keep to himself.
"What do you mean, 'come back'? I haven't come here-"
"AHHRGG! Just forget it, okay?! It doesn't matter!" He could feel the tears building up, and yet he stupidly preserved. "Just leave as you did all that time ago! See if I give a damn!"
"Sirius, stop." Noel, who had been keeping his silence, placed his hands on Sirius' shoulders, appearing stern - something extremely foreign to Sirius. He was too stunned to take Noels hands off his shoulders - his serious expression wasn't something Sirius had witnessed before. "...Claire, would you mind leaving us alone for a little?" He turned to the shorter girl beside him, who in response, nodded with a meek expression.
"...Let me know if you need anything, alright?" She mumbled, and with that, she walked off with her head hung low.
Now with the usually boisterous girl absent, Sirius' attention immediately turned to the more pivotal objective - not to confront Noel, who undoubtedly had things to say, but to keep the lump in his throat down. It had been years since Sirius had cried, and with company, he didn't want to start now. He couldn't start now.
Head spinning, no words left his mouth as Noel led him into his room, shutting the door behind him as he led Sirius over the desks in which he would spend a long amount of time slumped over, attempting to complete some work. Upon seeing the protective charms he had recently finished, he was once again reminded of his precious violet-haired witch.
And the world turned red.
Suddenly heaving for breath, Sirius slumped over, his hands rushing up to his face in an attempt to hide from the horror that had befallen him. The pungent, estranged smell of blood that he hadn't suffered for years had quickly made its home back in his nostrils. And before he knew it, the anguish he had worked so hard to conceal came pouring out in a single go.
He was too far gone to hear the cries of alarm that undoubtedly came from his childhood friend, too trapped in the past to realize he was now on the ground, curling up instinctively as he sobbed out years of pain.
And as quickly as it started, it halted with a foreign warmth that had enveloped his body, eyes flying open to reveal aforementioned childhood companion holding Sirius in a tight hug.
"Take deep breaths. You're fine, you're safe." He could hear him properly now. Noel's smooth voice never failed to ground him, whether had been an explosive outburst or being too wrapped in a book - Sirius would recognize his voice no matter what the circumstance.
And with no hesitation, Sirius melted into the touch. It was comical how long he had denied needing to be held, how he had voiced his distaste for physical affection - and yet he had so quickly surrendered his boundaries.
"I- I-"
"Shh, it's okay. I'm here." came the comfort that he swore he detested. He clung onto Noel's blazer tightly as he wept and wept - and he wondered if he held on tight enough he would be able to prevent Noel from leaving.
If he kept Noel close, perhaps he wouldn't have to be alone again.
And thankfully enough, Noel showed no signs of departing any time soon. He seemed content to hold Sirius for as long as he needed, making the effort to continue the small circular rubbing motions on Sirius' back, which were accompanying soft shushing noises - both of which were helping tremendously.
"I promise you that Claire means no harm - none of them do." Noel murmured quietly after a few minutes, head dipping into Sirius' hair. "Ashe may have spoken out of line, but that's no reason to resort to violence, okay? His words may have hurt... but there were other things you could've done."
All Sirius could do in response was hiccup softly, having no energy for some verbose remark. He understood that - he was never one to act erratically, and his sudden desire to hurt also left him surprised. But Lady Dorothy? A murderer? It was as if his pain was no longer valid - like his attachment to the witch was inferior.
He'd be damned to let the researcher continue. To let him slander his heroine even more. Despite that, he wished he could've responded more appropriately - a course of action that didn't require physical abuse.
"...I'm sorry..." He managed to croak out, leaning further into Noel's chest. He could hear a small chuckle leave the taller boys mouth - and now pacified, he knew he meant more good than evil.
"Now, now, where's this meekness coming from?" Taking his arms off of Sirius' back (much to Sirius' dismay), Noel placed them on Sirius' cheeks, forcing the lilac haired boy to meet Noel's single cerulean eye. "Where's the headstrong guy that I know and love?"
"...Quit using words like that, you." Sirius, now feeling a little better, got up on his own and gently took Noel's hands away so that he wouldn’t feel the heat on Sirius’ cheeks. "An apology is an apology. I don't need to possess a certain demeanor to feel remorse."
"Haha." giggled Noel, his usual smile returning to his face. "I know. But... I'm not the one you need to apologize to."
"...Yes, I understand." Sirius replied quietly, his gaze shifting downwards. It's not like he didn't feel apologetic - he just felt like he was owed an apology as well. If simple words from a mere stranger were able to bring him to his lowest point, then surely he was guaranteed some words of remorse, right?
"...Well, I'm feeling sleepy, so... you can leave." Sirius muttered, getting back up on his feet. An awkward close to the emotional outburst, yes, but Sirius was in no mood to spare feelings at this moment. Luckily, Noel knew of his hidden sincerity, evident as he stood up along with Sirius.
"Right, okay. Are you... going to be alright?" Although Noel had just spent time consoling him, he was still able to show some additional concern. How he did that effortlessly, Sirius had no clue.
"Yes, I'll be alright." He sighed, bringing a hand to his face to wipe the tearstains. "...Thank you. For... uh." At a loss for words, he gestured to his undoubtedly red face. "Assisting."
"Don't mention it. I'm happy to help." Noel smiled softly in response, and walked past Sirius with a pat on the shoulder. "Goodnight, Sirius."
"Goodnight to you as well." Sirius replied, and with the click of a now shut door, Sirius was alone. However, this time it was okay. He found solace in the silence, rather than before where it seemed to choke him.
With a deep, long sigh, he made his way over to the bathroom, washing his face with cold refreshing water. Taking a look at himself in the mirror, he cringed - it had truly been a long, long time since he had seen himself look this upset, so teary-eyed and, quite frankly, disgusting.
But strangely, he felt relieved. He hadn't realized how much he needed to cry. It was amazing how light his head felt after only a few brief moments of tears. It was... nice, for a change.
Padding over to his bed, he crawled in, and with another sigh, he let his eyelids shut, welcoming the hopefully dreamless sleep that enveloped him quickly with a heavy, comforting mist.
And as he drifted off, he could hear the familiar sweet melodies of the woman he held so dear, sending him off to sleep as she did 12 years ago when he was plagued with nightmares. No longer did the memory of her bring him sadness, but instead, as he slowly fell into his thoughtless slumber, it brought happiness.
And for the first time in years, he fell asleep with a smile.

I Love You, Professor
Original Imagine: Could you write a reader insert with the imagine: scarecrow being your professor, whom you have a crush on?
My first Jonathan Crane oneshot. I’m going more by Comic!Crane more so than Cillian Murphy since we never seen him as a professor in the movies thus not giving me the background knowledge I need to write him correctly. Not sure if there are any warnings so enjoy!
You are getting a PHD in psychology for you to work as a Behavior Analyst by the end of this semester and finally leaving the title as student and going off into the world to live your life.  You weren’t too sure if you wanted to move on especially without getting your secret off your chest to Professor Crane. Of all 7 years at Gotham U, you made sure you took all of Professor Crane’s psychology classes, even though it was about the same thing every single time. You liked his methods in getting the best score possible out of you, keeping you on your toes, and fueling you with spite to prove him wrong. Crane would say in his lectures that no one in the class could gain a good score on his tests. You relished the challenge.
You were a student assistant for Crane, hand picked because of your good grades allowing you to see your professor more often. It didn’t bother you, it would mean that your chances of making it easy were greater. You and Crane had slowly gotten to a relationship of Professor and Protege. Even though Crane is a bitter man, probably twice your age, but you felt a kinship with him. Until you started seeing him outside the University in random incidents in your daily life did you realize that there was a certain fondness you felt for Crane.  By the time you had came to terms with the facts about your true feelings for a certain professor, it was almost time for you to graduate from Gotham University.
You really have no idea were this attraction towards Professor Crane came from. At first you thought it was how awkward his body moves, skinny limbs swimming in his shabby hand-me-down suits, coupled by how tall he is, such a turn on for you. The thrill of having such a giant of a man easily overpowering you, this little fantasy would get in the way of your studies for his classes. Then it came to his obsession: fear, it frightened you but in a good way you never thought possible. Maybe the true reason for this fascination with Professor Crane was the way he could preach fear like a preacher, full of ecstasy and fire. The notion that fear was the basis of everything a human does seems justifiable when he explained it. Whenever a student would challenge the theory, Professor Crane would rave as if he were unhinged, like some desperate, howling demon. How you loved it.
Thankfully, the day before your graduation your professor had agreed to meet with you one last time at your usual spot in a coffee shop. You are walking there now, adored in a light sweater over a nice fitting short dress wit leggings to protect yourself from the late cold front that is sweeping through Gotham. You had gotten him a farewell gift, a pair of cuff links and a brand new tie to wear at your graduation. You approach the moderate sized cafe anxious on how Crane will react to your gifts and confessing your love for him.  Your nerves are getting the better of you as you see Professor Crane in the booth you both have shared on several occasions before you start to sweat a bit thinking the worst before you can even step a toe inside the building. Big round glasses shine with the lights hitting them the right way to make the glass block his steely blue eyes. Your mouth goes dry as you watch Crane’s prominent Adam’s Apple bob when he takes a swig of his coffee wondering how it would be like to kiss along his neck. You take a deep breath to steady yourself before walking in, idle background noise of the lively cafe going mute to your ears as you make your way towards your professor.
Professor Crane looks up from having set his cup down, his usual Americano that you got him to enjoy after getting one on a coffee run. A small pleasant smile stretches on his thin lips that you reflect when you take your seat. “Good afternoon, Ms. Y/N.” Crane greets, formal as per usual. Spider like hands move for your own but they detour towards his cup instead. “I’m glad you could join me one last time.”
“So am I.” You reply a light blush heating your cheeks having taken in note that he had ordered you your favorite beverage. “You got me something.”
“I took the liberty.” Professor Crane blurts out hastily his glasses sliding down his aristocratic nose in distress, “I knew it was your favorite. I didn’t mean to over step.” It was like he was afraid that you would reject his offering…
“No, it’s very considerate of you.” You reassure him by taking a sip of the drink he had given you. It was perfect, just the way you liked it, “Thank you, professor.” Crane appears to be more relaxed after you showed your gratitude like an inverted sigh of relief. The two of you stay in silence for a couple of moments enjoying your coffee and company. While he looks as comfortable as a cat in sunshine, you couldn’t help but feel like you’re taking your finals all over again. Butterflies continue to flutter in your stomach even after you try to burn them with your drink. It was time, “Professor, I have something to give you.” You start out fishing for the box in your pockets, “And I have something to tell you.”
“Oh?” He quirks an eyebrow in question, as if he were back in the classroom. Giving you the impression that Crane is judging you. A smirk plays on his lips, “Is this were you tell me that you cheated on all my tests?”
“What-no!” You nearly shout feeling a bit offended that he would think that lowly of you, “It’s more than that.” You dart your eyes to see his face, it is in waiting, wanting you to continue. You take a deep breath placing the box you had been looking for on the table, “I love you, professor.”
The silence to you is a bad sign, looking up you see Crane’s blank stare. Then a chuckle escapes his throat followed by a hard glare, “I would have never thought that you would be the one for cruel jokes.” He hisses at you, taking all breath out of your lungs. Did he really think this was a sick joke? “Did you play all your professors or am I just that special? Getting your kicks from the nerdy, geeky Jonathan Crane?” He stood up slowly as he continues to interrogate you. Warmth prickles the corners of your eyes, you couldn’t believe it Crane really thinks you would play him. He hunches down to were you are looking eye to eye “I hope you had your fun!” He growls out before taking his leave.
You feel your heart breaking into pieces as you sit there not paying attention to the murmurs around you from the other people in the building. Hot tears stream down your cheeks without you even knowing as Crane’s harsh words play in your head on repeat. You stay in this state until a barista comes up to you with a cup in hand.
“Here.” He says placing it in front of you, a decent sized mug with espresso and a scoop of vanilla ice cram in it topped with whipped cream. “On the house.”
“Thank you.” You managed to say wiping your tears with your sleeve. That’s when you noticed the box with the gifts is gone. Crane took the box! That jerk! Your sadness completely dissolved into anger, how dare he rip your heart up and take the gifts anyway! But why would he take it? Wouldn’t he be disgusted by how he thought of you to keep anything that reminded him of you? You couldn’t bring yourself to care at this point, you will not ever being seeing him again after tomorrow so what’s the use?
The rest of that day went by in a blurr, the next thing you know is that you are now in a crowd of your classmates. The head of your class is giving a speech on the future and such. Your future looks pretty bleak with that the love of your life just rejected you like a hussy wasting his time. This is supposed to be the greatest day of your life yet you feel like crap. You look around at the ceremony seeing some professors, Bruce Wayne, the Mayor, and then you see him. Professor Crane in the best set of clothes you have ever seen him wear. He looks so handsome, he even tried to tame his rat’s nest of hair. Crane catches you staring, you see his Adam’s Apple from your seat bobbing nervously, he fixes his tie. He is wearing your tie and cuff links! You cover your mouth with your hands in joy making Crane blush a bright red fogging up his glasses. You giggle at how cute he is being, just a few more minutes.
Finally, the ceremony ended allowing the crowd to break out. You look for Professor Crane, but your peers are making it difficult. You get up on the fountain to see over heads until you find a mop of mess peek over the mass of bodies. You rush off towards the mess of hair you love so much easily spotting Crane.
“Professor!” You call out running up to him, a blush still on his cheeks, “I wasn’t playing you.”
“I know.” He smiled down at you, but you didn’t hear him
“I really do love you!” You cry holding his long hands in your own, “I don’t just want to be your student.”
“Y/N…” He tries to stop you again.
“Please, I just want to know if you-” A bony finger presses to your lips to finally shut you up. You blink repeatedly looking up at your professor, the soft look on his features almost made you wonder who this person in front of you is.
“I return the feeling.” Crane cups your face in his hands, you smile tears about to spill out, “You may address me as Jonathan now.”
“Right.” You nod holding his hand in yours walking out of the campus, “I love you, Jonathan Crane.”
