Bamboo in the Rock

The bamboo stands upright in green mountains’ steps, roots planted deep. Neither wind nor rain will make it sway; it continues to thrive, firm and steady.

Climbing through Purgatory’s ranks is no easy task, and the progression from B-lister to A-lister is especially difficult. But there are a few people who dare to face the storm; Kourin Zhang discovers her cousin, Felix, is one of them.

(An original fiction, taking place in the Kengan universe) 

Just because there was a no-death rule, doesn’t mean that Purgatory fights weren’t intense. They were fiercer than anything Kourin had witnessed before. Punch after punch; kick after kick. Both fighters covered in blood and sweat, yet neither backed down. The match went on until finally, one of them fell.

“One! Two! Three!”

The referee began the count, but honestly, it was obvious to everyone watching that the match was over. The remaining fighter pumped his fist in the air with a victorious smirk and the audience roared, nearly drowning out the announcement of the winner.

“Tommy lost!”

“Who’s that guy?”

“Is this seriously his first fight?!”

Kourin heard those exclamations, and her lips twitched upwards into a small smirk. Of course they wouldn’t know him; well, unless they’d witnessed fights from other underground tournaments. Once she saw the fighter being lead away by Purgatory staff, Kourin clicked her tongue, and the corgi sitting beside her looked up.

“Come on, Milo. Let’s go see how he’s doing.”

As she approached the medical bay, she could see him sitting on the bed from the open door. He was bandaged up and his bloodied nose had been cleaned. The corgi barked, catching his attention; he must have been in pain, but his eyes lit up at the sight of him.

“Hey, Milo. Kourin.”

Kourin huffed. “Why do you always greet the dog first?”

“He’s the one who said hello… and also, he doesn’t scold me the minute he sees me.” The fighter smiled as Kourin laughed.

“Once you stop putting your shirt on backwards by accident, I’ll stop scolding you. But anyways, you okay, Felix?”

Felix looked down at himself. “Same as usual after a fight. That Tommy fellow hit pretty hard, I have to say. He might’ve broken one of my ribs and my ankle isn’t feeling too good… he almost managed to break my arm, too.” He touched his left arm; the skin was red, perhaps almost bruised, and his burn scar… Kourin wasn’t sure, but she felt like it must have hurt. Her expression must have changed, since Felix shook his head. “Don’t worry. It’s not that bad.”

“… Well, whatever you say.” She had learned not to argue with him regarding his subject. “If you’re really that fine, shall we go?”

“I don’t know, the doctor hasn’t given me the clear- Kourin, wait!“

Kourin turned around, only to yelp as she bumped into someone’s chest and nearly fell back if not for them catching her arm.

“Hey-“ If it was any other person, she would’ve snapped (seriously, how could someone walk so close to another person?!). But seeing exactly who it was, her words caught in her throat. “M-Mr. Toyoda?!”

The richest tycoon in Japan, founder of Purgatory, and Felix’s sponsor laughed heartily as he helped to steady her. “Sorry about that, Miss Kourin! I thought you knew I was here.”

“No, no, I’m sorry for running into you, Mr. Toyoda! You don’t need to call me ‘miss’, by the way.” Kourin grinned as she offered a hand for Idemitsu to shake.

“Then I insist you call me Idemitsu. That goes for you too, Felix.”

“Ah… um…” The guy took a little bit to answer, biting his lip as he very clearly searched for the words. “If you say so, Mr. Toyoda. I mean, Mr. Idemitsu.”

“Great! Now then. I wanted to speak with you about your match, but this isn’t a good place to talk. Can you walk?”

“Yes, I’m fine.” Waving away Kourin’s hand, Felix stood. He winced, slightly, but walked to the door without so much as a limp despite his injured ankle. Seeing Idemitsu’s somewhat surprised expression, Kourin chuckled.

“I know what you’re thinking. He’s just like that- high stamina and pain tolerance or something. It takes a lot to get him down, basically…” But I really don’t want to see him to get to that point. Kourin left those words unspoken, choosing to call out to Milo and follow Idemitsu.

He brought them to a lavishly decorated private room. Kourin herself felt nervous sitting around it, and Felix looked so tense as he accepted a cup of tea from one of the secretaries, that Kourin almost felt sorry for him.

“Now then,” Idemitsu started, a glass of whisky in his hand. “Firstly, I’d like to congratulate you on your match today. Starting from now, you’re an official fighter in Purgatory.”

“Um… th-thank you.” Felix offered up a nervous smile and Kourin snorted.

“You should be happier! You got a job!”

“But I am happy- I just-“

Idemitsu laughed heartily. “Don’t worry, no need to force yourself. I’ll be placing you amongst the higher ranks of the B-list, but you’ll get some of the benefits of the A-listers. So, no need to worry about the money.”

Instead of looking happy, despite what he said before, Felix bit his lip, looking down at his cup of tea. Was his anxiety acting up again? Kourin took over the conversation.

“Thanks a lot, Mr. Idemitsu. I know you don’t often come to see the B-listers matches, but since you sponsored Felix, I hope we meet more-“

“Wait.”

Attention turned back to Felix, and Kourin raised an eyebrow at his sudden assertiveness.

“I… actually wanted to speak with you about this.” He took a deep breath before looking directly at Idemitsu. “I want to be placed amongst the A-listers.”

Kourin had no words. This… hadn’t been what they’d discussed before. Wasn’t he happy to be a B-list fighter, with the benefits of the A-list? This was a bit too demanding, she thought. Especially when speaking to the person who had the power to cut him off entirely. But Idemitsu didn’t look insulted- only a mixture of amused and interested.

“Is there a particular reason why you’re only asking me this now?” He asked.

Felix nodded. “I’ve been thinking about it for a while. I thought at first that this was fine, but… I realised. I want to be an A-lister.”

“Felix-“

But he gave Kourin a look that looked less like his normal self, and more like the fighter in the arena. This was something important to him, Kourin realised, and swallowed back the retort she was about to say.

Idemitsu seemed to be pondering the idea. “Well… you have the potential. I’ll say that. But…” He shook his head. “I can’t say you’re A-rank yet. You’d be destroyed by the fighters we have there.”

Felix wasn’t fazed. “I’m not weak, Mr. Idemitsu. You’ve seen me fight. How can I prove to you that I belong there?”

The tycoon tilted his head slightly at Felix, slowly smirking. “… You’re quite serious about this, aren’t you?” He mused to himself. “I admire your courage, Felix, but you’re not at A-list rank. However,” he said as Felix looked like he’d interject. “That’s not to say you won’t be an A-lister. I did mention you can get promoted, yes?”

“Ah… yes.”

“You can fight your way to the top. Prove your strength, and get even stronger. Then you can earn that spot by yourself.” Idemitsu smiled broadly once again. “Like I said. You have the potential.”

“… All right. But if I may- I would rather not fight weak opponents, like today.” Felix’s smile contrasted the tone of his voice. Idemitsu only laughed.

It wasn’t until they got to their car that Kourin spoke about their conversation. “Can I ask what all of that was about? Seriously, I thought you wanted to be a B-lister in Purgatory. Why didn’t you tell me?”

“It was pretty sudden. I’m sorry.” Felix leaned in the backseat, holding Milo in his arms as the corgi snuggled up to him. “I just had this… sudden thought as I was fighting.”

“What thought?”

“I can’t really explain it. I did think I was fine with being average. Earning just enough money and everything. Then I suddenly thought… if this is what fighting the B-listers is like, then what about the A-listers? And I just got so curious that it just… came out.” Felix laughed, softly. “Or maybe… I didn’t want to be just a ‘B’. Something inside me told me that I wanted to be an ‘A’. Does that make sense?”

Kourin went silent, considering the response. It’s not like it didn’t make sense; in fact, she understood the feeling. Almost too well. She huffed a sigh and shook her head.

“We’ll have to train more, you know that? And you can’t be so clumsy, or you won’t be in top shape.”

“Yeah, I know.” Felix paused. “You’re… not angry?”

“Why would I be? You just surprised me, that’s all. This isn’t something I’d scold you for. But if you slack off after saying all that, then you’ll get it.”

She smirked, starting the car. Kourin already knew that when Felix said something, he’d go through with it no matter what- and he wouldn’t slack off about it either. But hey, she needed to tease her cousin sometimes. And as his kind-of manager, she’d have to make sure he was in the right condition to take that top spot he was craving.

Original draft - UNSETIC Files: Lost and Found - Chapter 1

At the end of Bering Songs and Silence, Brigid O'Connell makes a fateful phone call--and sets in motion a series of events that neither she nor her new partner, Tim McConaway, can predict.

What follows is the draft of Chapter 1 of Lost and Found, one of the UNSETIC Files.  I'll be releasing the first couple of drafted chapters for free of this project and a couple others with the rest of the drafts appearing as patron-only posts at my Patreon site.  This is early-access, since Lost and Found will be released in ebook and print form once it’s complete and edited.

Lost and Found is a story told from the point of view of Alisa "AJ" McConaway, fledgling mage, anthropologist, and a team leader in UNSETIC's Portal Corps.

           “I’m getting sick of this bloody dodging bullets bullshit.”

           I choked on a laugh, shaking my head as I met Kate Berkshire’s glower head-on.  “That’s because you’re not getting any better at it.”

           “No, I’m getting worse,” the Irish soldier snapped, then swore, glaring at the medic to her left.  “What was that for?”

           “Stop your bitching,” Joshua Talmadge growled, not looking up from his work on Kate’s left arm.  “You’re lucky it’s just a through and through.  If it was any worse we’d be at U of C Medical trying to explain how you happened to wander in front of a bullet and oh no, please don’t involve the police, there’s no need to report anything it’s just a silly mistake no real harm done as you’re bleeding on a freaking gurney.”

           “I’m sure you could pull it off, Josh,” I said, patting the doctor on the shoulder.  He snorted humorlessly and shook his head.

           “Don’t patronize me, McConaway. You’re ill-suited to it.”

           “I don’t know, I think she’s pretty good at it.” Kate smiled weakly.  “Just a scratch.”

           “You could be bleeding out with your intestines falling out of a hole in your gut and it’d be ‘just a scratch.’”  I grinned as I started to dig around for my cell, which had started vibrating in my back pocket.

           “Popular today, aren’t you?”  Kate waved me away with her good hand as she saw me digging around for my phone.  “Go take it. I’m not going anywhere until the good doctor’s done with me.”

           Don’t recognize that area code.  “It’s probably a wrong number anyway.  I’ll be right back.  Try not to piss off Josh while I’m gone, huh?”  I ducked out of the infirmary and into the hall.  We’d been back in the Portal Corps headquarters in downtown Chicago for maybe fifteen minutes, returned from yet another off-world foray that had probably resulted in more trouble than it was worth.  I glanced down at my phone’s screen again and shook my head as I tapped it and lifted the phone to my ear.  This had better be quick.  I don’t have time to break away from refereeing right now. “This is McConaway.”

           “Hello, Dr. McConaway?  My name is Brigid O’Connell, and I have some news about your brother.”

           My heart stopped.  Brigid O’Connell had been the name of the woman who’d led the search after Tim and Mat had disappeared over the deserts of Iraq.  They’d found Mat’s plane but no trace of him in it.

           That was because something from beyond the boundaries of Earth had kidnapped them both, whisked them off to somewhere far away. Only a few people knew that, though, and almost all of them worked here, worked for the Corps.

           What could she possibly know?  She’s not with the Corps.  I’d know if she was.

           “Doctor?  Are you there?”

           “Of course.  Of course.  I—I’m sorry.” I took a deep breath and exhaled it slowly, trying to will my heart to slow down, to force my guts to cooperate. “I’m here.  I—what do you have to tell me, Miss O’Connell?”

           “It’s Lieutenant O’Connell, actually, and...he’s here.”

           “It’s nice to—wait, what?”  This has to be a dream, some kind of hallucination.  I got shot instead of Kate.  That’s it. I’m hallucinating because I’ve lost way too much blood and I’m dreaming this.

           “Here, you talk to her.”

           “What?  Wait a second here—”

           It was his voice, unmistakably my brother.  My heart thudded against my breastbone and every breath was a battle.

           How did he get back?  How is he—where is he?  There was a tremor in my voice as I dared to speak his name.  “Tim?”

           He sighed into the phone.  “Hey AJ.  Are you okay?”

           “No.  No, not okay. Where are you?”

           “Virginia,” he said.  “Alexandria.  Where are you?”

           “Chicago.  Where else would I be?”  I squeezed my eyes shut.  How had he gotten to Virginia without us knowing? Was there another Portal somewhere near there that we didn’t know about?

           Goddammit, there’s too much we don’t know.

           There were a thousand questions I wanted to ask him—chief among them was how the hell he’d ended up in Virginia without our knowing that he was back on Earth.  I couldn’t ask that question over the phone, though, especially not with O’Connell there with him, not without knowing what she might know about him, about what he’d been through.  I squeezed my eyes shut, sagging against the wall.

           “Sis?  You there?”

           “I’m here,” I said, voice coming choked from a throat so tight I could barely breathe.  “Are you safe?”

           “Why wouldn’t I be?”

           I caught a hitch in his voice and shivered.  We both know why—but do you remember that I know, that Kate knows?

           He said that he wouldn’t.  He was going to make himself forget so he could protect us.  Damn it all.

           “Just making sure,” I whispered.  “I...I need to see you.  I need an address.”  Kate would want to come with me.  Scott and Sierra would be expecting a report from us on the last run.  There wouldn’t be time to write one before I—before we—left.

           A thought struck me.  Had they known he was back?  Had he somehow shown up while Kate and I were on a run and they just hadn’t told us?

           No. No, they wouldn’t keep a secret like that from us.  If they tried, it would be a cover up of epic proportions.  Bryn would say something.  There’d be no hesitation.  If she knew, we’d know.  End of story.

           Scott and Sierra couldn’t have known—no one connected to the Corps knew.  That was for certain.

           Tim rattled off an address.  I wrote it on my hand, struggling not to drop my phone as I did. My heart was going three times its normal speed.

           “You’ll be there?”  I asked, my voice still shaking.

           “I don’t know where else I’d go,” he said quietly. “If I’m not there, I’ll be here. Call this number if you need to.”

           “Absolutely,” O’Connell’s voice said in the background. “I’ll help her find you if you’re not already here.”

           “Not like I’ve got anywhere to go,” he said, his voice a little muffled.

           My eyes stung.  You could come here.  You could come home.  I glanced toward the door to the infirmary, biting down hard on my lower lip.  Why hadn’t he come here?  Why hadn’t he come home?

           There must be a good reason.  I’ll find out what it is.

           “I’m coming there,” I said.  “Don’t say I didn’t warn you.  I’ll be there tomorrow, as early as I can.  I promise.  Don’t go anywhere.”

           “I won’t,” he said quietly.  “I’ll see you.”

           “Tim?”

           “Yeah?”

           “I missed you,” I said in a bare whisper.  “We all missed you.  I...I’m glad you’re back.”

           There was a long silence on the other end of the line before he said, “Yeah.  So am I, AJ. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

           “Love you.”

           “I love you, too.  Be careful.”

           He hung up and I stood there in the hall, staring at the wall without actually seeing it in front of me.  My brother was back on Earth.  He was home.

           Why hadn’t anyone told us before now?

           I knuckled my eyes and exhaled a shaky breath, counting to ten before I straightened.  Shoving my phone into my pocket, I headed back into the infirmary, hoping I didn’t look half as shaken as I felt.

           “That was a long wrong number,” Kate said before her gaze met mine.  Then she saw the look on my face and all good-humored teasing evaporated.  Her expression grew serious.  “What’s the matter?”

           I closed the door behind me.  “I just talked to Tim.”

           “Tim?  My Tim?”

           “He’s my Tim, too,” I reminded her.  “He was my Tim first.”

           “Whatever.  You talked to him?  How is that even possible?”

           “Should I be here for this?”  Josh asked, glancing up from Kate’s stitches.  “Because I can go if this is classified six feet above my ass.”

           “It’s not,” I said, even though I wasn’t actually sure of that.  “It’s fine. Just finish up.”

           “He wants me to go get some x-rays,” Kate said with a slight glower.  “Something about getting lucky if I didn’t nick the bone.”

           “I just said it was a good idea,” Josh said. “You told me it hurt more than the last time you got shot and it hurt deep. That means bone or deep tissue damage. Do you want to be safe about this or not?”

           “You’re the one who was moaning about U of C Medical.”

           “It’s better to be safe than sorry.”

           “Would you two stop bickering for twenty seconds?” I snapped.  “Kate, I’m driving to Virginia.  I’m driving tonight. Are you coming?”

           “Why—oh.  Is that where he is?”

           “Scott and Sierra are going to need a report and I can make it for both of us,” Kate said quietly, finally lifting her eyes to meet mine.            I stumbled down the concrete steps and into the warmth of the subway tunnel, already shivering from the late winter chill.  It had been a relatively mild winter here in Chicago, but that didn’t mean it was much warmer than bitter cold—especially not this close to the lakeshore.  I dug around in my bag, hoping to find my wallet and eventually locating it in the deepest, darkest corner of the bag as I made my way to the turnstiles guarding the entry to the train platforms.

           I breathed a sigh of relief as my fingers closed around my car keys and CTA card.  Small favors.  That’s all I can ever ask for.

           I took the train from Harrison and hit my connections—Red Line to Blue all the way to Rosemont where I’d left my car.  Sometimes I took the Metra all the way in and out of the city, but when I didn’t know when I’d be coming home, I liked the convenience of leaving my Jeep closer to downtown rather than at the Metra stations in Barrington or Schaumburg.  I stared out the windows of the train, at the city and at tunnel walls, fingers tapping against my knee in agitated impatience, all the way from the station where I’d gotten on the Blue Line to Rosemont, where my insane life with the Corps and UNSETIC had begun.  It felt like a long time ago.

           How am I going to tell him?  How am I going to break that news?

           I wasn’t sure if I was trying to figure out how to explain this to my uncle, or how I was going to break the news to my brother that our other uncle, our mother’s brother, was dead.  I didn’t know which one would be harder.

           I closed my eyes and sighed.  Dammit.

           The train stopped at Rosemont and I got off, went hunting for my car.  Somewhere between there and home, I’d figure out how I was going to tell Uncle Chris.

           I really didn’t have much choice about that.

Rocky is able to will himself up on 9 while Apollo collapses from exhaustion, giving Rocky the win by knockout, making him the new heavyweight champion. Rocky then gives an impassioned speech to the crowd and holds the belt over his head with a message for his wife, who is watching the fight on TV: "Yo, Adrian, I did it!"

Sylvester Stallone as Robert "Rocky" Balboa, Sr., "The Italian Stallion": the underdog who was given one chance at winning the heavyweight championship from Apollo Creed in the first film. Due to the public's belief that it was very possible that Rocky could have won, he gets a second shot at the title in this film.

Talia Shire as Adrian Balboa: Rocky's love interest-turned-wife. During labor, with their first son, she enters a coma for a large portion of the film.

Carl Weathers as Apollo Creed: The current world heavyweight champion who gave Rocky a shot at the title in the first film, during which he won by split-decision. (Continued from Part 1)Chapter 24 basically just presents a whole bunch of wild ideas connecting the word “Montauk” to other occult terms. Chapters 25-29 discuss Crowley’s history. It’s a whole bunch of more crap about magick, but the Cliffnotes version is basically that Crowley learned about magick from the Egyptian god Horus via his guardian angel, wrote down a “Book of the Law” based on that, designated himself a “Priest of Mentu”, predicted the experiments in the 1940s and 1980s, claimed that the word “hero” (as in Camp Hero) was derived from “Horus” and stated that he was thwarting the plans of another shadowy group (who were either Nazis or aliens). Moon also found a secret message handwritten in an original copy of the Book, and sent it to a graphologist, who gives the following report;“…he informed me that whoever wrote it was a sadist, a masochist, an extreme pessimist with definite sexual problems but also a genius who had incredible occult knowledge.”Well, he was right about the first part. There was also apparently a magician who found the ultimate “key to consciousness” who got into a “magic war” with Crowley. Also the same Sirians who provided the “Montauk chair” established a colony on Mars and ancient Sumeria, courtesy of Set) and also hung around Camp Hero while the Project was in full swing (probably in the whorehouse). They also performed lots of sex magic;“We all know that we go into a different state of consciousness during the sexual act. As it is a creational process, it is not hard to relate that we can then have an effect on creation when in this form of consciousness. When we engage in sex, we are tapping into the blueprint that made the whole universe possible. As Crowley studied this information, he saw that the ancients understood what they were doing in their orgiastic rites. Of course, if you were to walk in on an orgy today, you might find that the procedure has degenerated into an unholy mess. On the other hand, magical energies would definitely be present.’…………………………………………………………………………………Moving on.“Amazon cultures were known to be able to breed without the use of a male. Because the human body is primarily androgynous, a separation of the sexes is not theoretically necessary for procreation. This contention about the Amazons is backed up by the fact that the zona pellucinda (the reproductive body in the female which contains a sack) can be penetrated by a latent male protein within the inherited genetic structure of the female that the body thinks and treats like a sperm. This results in a virgin birth.”You know, I think there’s at least a few doctors who find issue with this statement. Oh, and also apparently Bast was “presiding” over Montauk’s sexual and genetic experiments.“In what is an amusing correspondence, there are usually various cats that roam the picnic area near the lighthouse parking lot at Montauk. They have no apparent home but are always well fed by the tourists who sometimes take one home for a pet. These cats are known as the ‘Montauk Cats’ I was once told that if you follow the cats before a rainstorm, they will lead you to the underground.”Personally, I never saw any cats out there, but apparently this is proof of an Egyptian goddess’s personal involvement with Montauk. Moon rambles on about name similarities and Hebrew for a while before he reveals that apparently the most important shape in alchemy and magic is a tetrahedron distilled into a spiral which funnels knowledge downwards. He then explains how human bones are in “complete resonance” with the grid, resonating energy “which can include consciousness as well”.“And if you don’t believe that can bones can influence consciousness, try scaring the living daylights out of somebody through the use of a skeleton. Actually, you shouldn’t. It works only too well.”Oh, so that’s why my neighbors called the cops and ran away screaming when I tossed a real, dried up human skeleton at them! It was because the skeleton was influencing their consciousness! Golly, I sure wish I knew that sooner!This book…We learn of Crowley’s involvement (through sex magic, with an entity called LAM followed by Jack Parsons and a retread of the whole Babylon Working ritual and the Illuminati’s ultimate goal; to “transcend this existence”. All of this will culminate in Armageddon in which Christ and his angels will fight the Antichrist and his demons.“Those of us who invoke the wisdom of Babalon will not be rooting in the corner of either side. We’ll be functioning as the referee and ensuring that each side fights fair with no bribes being offered to the World Boxing Council by some of those notorious mystery school people who sit in the expensive front row seats. If we can accomplish that, the fight should go the distance and be declared a draw. Ascension will occur.”“So, as they say at Caesar’s Palace: ‘Let’s get ready to rumble!’”Jesus Christ…Chapter 30 talks about Native American shamans. It starts off by mentioned that the Montauketts were indentured by a Colonel William Parsons and declaring The Long Ranger) as being a show “dedicated to denigrating the Native American culture”. Honestly, I can’t really disagree with this. Moon then explains the mystic Wovoka and the Ghost Dance, a ceremony meant to remove the white people from the continent. The dance was banned, and the people who followed it were persecuted until events culminated in the Massacre at Wounded Knee. What does this have to do with Montauk? Well, Wovoka’s anglicized name was Jack (you guessed it) Wilson.I’ve got to be honest, all of this talk about synchronicity with the Parson, Wilson and Cameron names have intrigued me. So according to IMDb there was a whopping four Wilsons and a Cameron involved in the production of Stranger Things. Make of that what you will, but I’m sure that Moon will get a kick out of that in his next book.Moon then explained to the Montauketts the reason that they were kicked off their land (so that Neo-Nazis and aliens can practice mind control and time-travel), learned that the pyramids were covered by sand and put a demand for anyone involved in the Project to “confess their crimes for spiritual purposes” to the tribe’s Shaman (Mark Hamill, you better be reading this!)He finally leaves us with something I agree with whole-heartedly;“I would only ask that all of you in the reading audience do whatever is in your power, whether it be large or small, to assist the Montauks in getting their land back. Their task and responsibilities are not small and they need all the help they can get.”Once again, I am also going to request that you guys help the Montauketts out because again, absolutely no one else even knows about this. Please, least try to make a positive change in any way you get, whether it be raising awareness, contacting your Senator or donating money.We are now in Part 2, and Preston B. Nichols takes over the writing. Chapter 31 deals with the “Montauk Underground”. When the Montauk Project started in the 1950s, there were six underground tunnels beneath Camp Hero and two more were added in the late 1980s. These tunnels are miles long and there is an entire underground city there. Besides that, Nichols theorizes that the Montauk Tower housed the workers of this facility because it’s always listed as “occupied” even though there’s barely any cars in the parking lot. In addition;“It was also reported by one lady who looked at the rooms that they were surprisingly small. This opens the door to the possibility that it may have been designed for aliens.”Only you Preston. Only you.There’s also a maintenance garage on the Camp’s grounds containing a generator generating nearly 100 megawatts of power, which is enough to supply the entire South Fork with power. In addition, all Congressional investigations into the Camp were blocked. Holes had been dug, buildings were torn down and asbestos-covered pipes were left lying all over the place. Also, since 1994, all transmissions from the base have ceased, indicating an accident had occurred and that the underground was being sealed off.Chapter 32 is a brief tale about a mysterious shed Nichols spotted while flying over the base. His video footage slowed down to 1/30th frame a second revealed a square hatch “with a shiny round object” next to the shed, which then disappeared and reappeared. The shiny object was not next to the hatch, when then opened for a single frame and closed, far faster than possible. So Nichols heads out there with Moon and a guy named Tim to find that there was inexplicably a ladder attached the shed which had a wine bottle filled with dirty water on the roof. When Nichols watched the video footage at home, the bottle did not appear in the video. Nichols concludes that the bottle and the hatch had both briefly appeared from an “alternate reality” as a way for the Montauk group to show off. Nichols then plugs his next video tape here.Chapter 33 is about the Montauk Boys. You remember them, right? They were the kids who were abducted by aliens due to their Aryan bodies and sent hurtling through time to prepare them for being reprogrammed as sleeper agent hit squads. Now, that was pretty dumb, but can it get any dumber?“I have since found that the majority of the boys were part of what we call the Delta Force, a group that goes in and recovers UFOs. Sometimes these are in the U.S. or another part of the planet. Other times they are in another reality. These boys are men today and are highly trained to go in and battle the aliens. This information comes from various people I’ve worked with who say that their job is to go in and literally play Rambo.”…………Well, I suppose upgrading them to friggen XCOM was the only logical step. Even more bizarre is that these guys are just living normal lives and are pressed into service when needed with some sort of block controlling their memory. I guess this means that anyone you know could be an alien-killing badass. Actually, come to think of it, I’m white, blue-eyed and dirty blond with Germanic/Celtic ancestry and grew up by the Brookhaven Labs. Shit, I might be fighting off an alien invasion as an XCOM soldier by night and I wouldn’t even know it.…………Well, if I don’t post for a while, just assume I died wrestling a Muton.Also, I was joking in the last overview about predicting how the Stranger Things boys would end up as brainwashed government hitmen. But the idea of Mike, Dustin, Lucas and Will becoming XCOM operatives is… actually kind of awesome.Seriously, Matt and Ross, can you add this in Season 5 or something? Please?Anyway, one of these guys was spying on Nichols through his back window and evidently had a small, belt-mounted device that turned him invisible.“The unit has three settings: off, invisible and gone. In ‘off’ mode, you are in the environment and are invisible. When the setting is set at “invisible”, you can’t be seen visually nor are you detectable by light or radar, but you can do physical interaction in this reality. The third setting is ‘gone’. This means that you are in a parallel reality and can just view into this reality. You don’t have any effect in this reality except to see it. In this manner, you can literally walk through walls.”Nichols then reveals that he actually video-taped one of my possible comrades in his “Montauk tour” video. So I guess these things aren’t that good. Also, Nichols has the ability to “fell” vibrations emanating from implants. By doing this, he found a guy named Bill, whose implant he remembered designing at Montauk and as such he was able to shut it off. He then found another guy named Mike and shut his implant off too.“The implant itself has a Central Processing Unit or CPU. That’s a chip that is usually in the breast bone, right over the heart. Just below the CPU is the memory chip. This sits below the implant at the bottom of the rib cage. Right around the back of the neck is an interface which connects to a maze of wires that goes into the back of the head.”What? I’m not feeling for wires in the back of neck or computer chips in my bones, why do you ask?So apparently the computer transmits data back to a central computer of everything the boys see and sense, and it can receive commands to control the boys. I may be slightly panicking now, but not to worry, as Preston has some advice;“By studying [implants] we can better defend ourselves[sic] against those who might you to do us harm… The most important thing to remember in all of this is that implants are only effective if the host agrees to them. It is possible to free yourself from anything.”Duly noted. Moving on…Chapter 34 basically explains that as of 1993, the base was still transmitting a 420-450 Megahertz signal, which as you may recall, is the frequency that allows for human mind control and that security was beefed up.Chapter 35 talks about particle accelerators and their purpose. Interestingly enough, Nichols correctly predicts that Brookhaven National Labs has a large accelerator (the second-largest in the world, in fact). This is apparently generating most of the power for the facility. Oh, and modulation from it is being used to shoot down UFOs.Chapter 36 explains that due to the Montauk Project and a number of other “space-time projects”, we have lived through this timeline twice, possibly more.“Because we really can’t have two different time lines for the same time period it means that one time line must veer off and become an alternate reality. All of this suggests that the first time line was the time line that God created. The alternate time line is what original sin became.”what.“We received knowledge and God supposedly kicked us out of the Garden of Eden. He did not kick us out. What happened is when we fed the first time line in on itself, that time line skewed off into an alternate reality and we went into a second time line. The second time line is our creation, not God’s. The original God, God the Father is not on this time line. This is the reason the modern Christian data base is saying that we can reach God the Father through Christ.”I don’t even…“Christ is the piece of us that leads back to God the Father. The cross represents the crossing of our time line with the creator’s time line. We can go through this Christ relationship to get back to God the Father who was the original creator. All of this says that original sin is the knowledge of space and time and that we can play God and create our own reality. Of course we went into that reality and that is how we are separated from our Creator.”“There was a collective consciousness that built all these various space-time projects that are all part of the original sin. We now know it as history. Only by becoming conscious of the original timeline can we blow off false time. That is the purpose of these Montauk books.”THIS is the purpose of all of this crap?! THIS!?“The mathematics are supposed to be that if ten percent of the beings in this galaxy can become conscious of the original time line, then all beings will follow suit. He planned to write even more books about Montauk and another book about Nichols’ experiences with UFOs, Duncan Cameron’s story, the Nazi connection with Tibet and the final eight days of the Montauk Project.“And then, there is the movie. People frequently ask if there is going to be a movie about the Montauk Project. We should tell you that there has been definite interest from different sources in Hollywood concerning a motion picture about Montauk. Unfortunately, most of the people who have contacted us in this regard are naïve when it comes to dealing with the subject matter. They do not realize that Montauk heads the media’s list of subjects to be censored. You can easily understand the sort of difficulty this presents. It is just a matter of time before the world is ready for “Montauk the Movie”, and I’m sure all will unfold in its due course.”Well, it only took 21 years, but hey, you got your “movie”, sans Nazis, sex magic and ass-kicking Jesus, Moon. Hope you’re not too disappointed. That said, judging from his blog, I don’t think that he’s aware of Stranger Things, and frankly I think it should stay that way. So if whatever crazy reason you want to contact him personally (thus giving him your email address, I might add), I implore you not tell him about the show, however tempting it may be because 1). I really don’t want him and Nichols to start stalking and harassing anyone involved and 2).
