Yandere! Streamer x Streamer! Reader

A/N : I'm taking a break from the bullet point format and decided to try making a drabble instead. Huuge thanks to @bloozz for giving streamer his name🌷

"Damnit..! I lost again" He let out a defeated sigh as he watches the 'GAME OVER' screen blinking at him in an almost mocking way.

The chat of his live stream went wild upon his fifth time losing on a game that he had been playing for hours by now and yet he still hasn't been able to beat it.

"Yeahhh, thanks a lot chat! those 'L's you're spamming are definitely helpful" Micha rolled his eyes at the countless mockery his viewer was sending him. He knew it was all jokes- or at least he hope it is.

Deciding that he needed a break from the game, he cracked open a can of soda and laid back against his chair, opting to interact more with his viewers.

He had only been streaming for a few months and had gained a pretty sizeable amount of viewer and fanbase.

Bloozzclues : You should check (insert your streamer name) out! They've beaten this game multiple time and have some useful tips you can use.

"(Y/S/Name)? I've heard of them before, saw a few of their speedruns. I never understand how they manage to get that luck based glitch to work! But thanks bloozz! i'll be sure to check them out after stream" Micha replied to one of the chat and moved on to the others.

Soupispretty :(Y/S/Name) is actually watching your stream rn lol

Micha choked on his drink as he tries to contain his coughs. He almost spat out the soda onto his keyboard and it would've been a nightmare to clean it up.

Scrolling through the main page of the streaming website on his other monitor, lo and behold, the (Y/S/Name) was indeed watching his stream. Specifically, the parts where he lose to the same boss every. single. time.

He felt his cheeks reddened everytime he heard (Name) laughed or giggled at him. They wouldn't just laugh at him though, they would also insert in some advices for him to improve on which made him incredibly jittery with excitement.

(Y/S/Name) also known as (Name) has always been an inspirational figure of his when he first started streaming. To be acknowledged by his idol causes him to be so overwhelmed, he almost fainted from how fast his heart is beating.

The chimes of his subscription's notif brought him back to his senses, Micha's chats were going crazy from the streamer's trance like reaction to (Y/S/Name) stream.

Kafkaismywife : is he okay??

Peachesandcrem : bro looks possessed💀

Collecting what little composure he has anymore, Micha decided to end the stream under the guises of him being exhausted.

"Ahem.. er sorry about that guys, i think the sleep deprivation is getting to me. So, thank you all for being in this stream but I have to log off now!" He smoothly blurted out, getting back into his streaming persona.

After saying goodbyes to his viewers, he clicked the end stream button. Alone with his thoughts, Micha switches the screen back onto your stream.

He knew from then on, his adoration for you had grown into something more. Something deadly and dangerous.

(Name) let out an exhausted sigh as they had just finished another successful stream. They played horror games for hours and ended the stream by reacting to random clips their viewer sent via mediashare.

"I should probably take a shower and take a long nap right after.." (Name) thought.

Ping!

It was the sound of their notifications, (Name) picked their phone up and clicked on it. They were directed to their twitter where the person had messages them.

They paused for a moment, thinking over their decision. (Name) have been wanting to make a collab stream before but never got to it. This would be a great opportunity to produce some new content!

Some extra notes:

I was thinking, he'd be easily triggered if he touches any palismen after the finale battle, terrified of harming them. It'd be a parallel to this:

whereby there's no more Belos, but if something sets him off, he would have that spooky trauma experience of feeling like Belos could actually still be there, controlling him and getting him to hurt others. Imagine what a hurdle this would be, even before he can be mentored by Dell to learn how to carve new palismen.

The nightmares would be frequent in these early weeks. Sometimes Stringbean has a mind of her own and does her own thing around the house, at odd hours on some days. But Hunter has a little breakthrough in my edits here, where he's able to touch Stringbean and carry her upstairs, since this isn't the first time she has appeared to wake him from a nightmare. They find Camila in the kitchen, who says she also can't sleep.

In the first pic, Stringbean just squeaked and he's muttering (out loud) to her about what he remembers from the nightmare: that he saw himself in his old uniform...and then he looked down and saw that his hand was Belos's clawed hand.

@childlikegoblinqueen was telling me how when Hunter first petted Flapjack, he was slightly too rough (ugh, the foreshadowing...) but adjusted to be gentle pretty quickly. But now, Hunter would imagine that he’s unable of being that gentle ever again, since he hurt Flapjack as badly as he did while being possessed. That's where the therapy sessions would have to come in.

The ideas for this scene are also inspired by some headcanons:

Daily Drabble, 10/11/23

Prompt: "different first meeting"

(Eddie Munson x Steve Harrington)

Summary: Steve wakes up on his graduation day and he isn't happy about it. Then, he wakes up on his graduation day again, and again, and again....

Warnings: Time loop, Steve is a Sad Boi, drinking/smoking

A/N: This is far too long to be considered a drabble but I just had to write it once I thought of it. Inspired by a post @spoookysix made that I will link here.

Steve woke up on the day of his high school graduation and was already over it.

He’d lost Nancy. He didn’t get into any colleges. Sure, he and Dustin had gotten closer, but it’s not like it made him feel cool to be hanging out with a 13 year old.  He’d stopped hanging out with most of his friends - which he knew was a good thing, but it did mean he was alone a lot of the time, and that was something he wasn’t used to. Girls still liked him, but he was nowhere near top dog anymore. 

Whatever. It was time to graduate and say goodbye to Hawkins High forever. 

He got dressed. Listened to his parents somehow talk about how they were both proud and disappointed in him. Drove to school. Waited in line. Sat in the seats. Listened to the speeches. Walked the stage. Went to a party. Got drunk. There was a sadness to all of it. An emptiness. A loss.

He woke up the next day to a pounding on his door.

“Are you almost ready?” his dad called. “You’re supposed to be at the school in twenty minutes, son.”

Steve looked at the clock, confused, and although he didn’t understand why he had to get up, he did so. He was still half asleep when he put a shirt on and headed downstairs, only to find his parents waiting for him, in the same outfits they’d been wearing the day before.

“Please tell me you won’t be wearing that, honey,” his mom warned through thin lips. 

“Well, if it will be covered by the robe…” his father noted, checking his watch. 

Steve stared at them, confused. He figured it had to have been a dream of sorts, so he just…went along with it. Put on his graduation outfit. Went through the motions of driving to school, waiting in line, sitting in the auditorium. He didn’t go to the party this time - instead, he just went home.

Then, he woke up again. Got dressed. Freaked out when his parents gave him the same speech about the responsibilities of adulthood. Drove to school. Tried to tell someone what was going on, but sounded even crazier. Went to the party. Got drunk. Got so drunk that he passed out somewhere (he was pretty sure he ended up in a bush).

He woke up again in his bed, and that’s when he realized what was going on. 

Oh, shit.

It felt incredibly emasculating to go to a thirteen year old boy for a problem like this, but Steve wasn’t sure who else to turn to.

“Steve!” Dustin said when he opened his front door. “What are you doing here? Isn’t it graduation day?” Steve groaned.

“Dude, that’s the problem,” he explained. “I’ve graduated three times already.”

And so, he told Dustin what was going on, and thankfully, the dipshit believed him. Dustin said that Steve must have been caught in something called a “time loop,” whatever that meant, and theorized that Steve had to learn something or do something a certain way to break out of it.

“So, what do I have to learn or do?” he asked, frantically. Dustin shrugged.

“I dunno. You’ll have to figure that part out.”

Steve sighed. This was a total nightmare.

He lived the loop a few more times. His first attempt and breaking from it was trying to be a  better person - righting his wrongs, basically. He brought people coffee. He gave money to someone asking for it on the street. He cheered at every single name called.

When that didn’t work, he tried to right specific wrongs. He stood up to his parents. He apologized to Jonathan. He had a heart to heart with Nancy. These were huge conversations he’d put off for far too long, and they neither made him feel better nor broke him from the stupid time loop.

So then, he just started having fun with it. He danced across the stage when he got his diploma. He talked to different people at the party every night and listened to their stories. When all the pressure was off him of any consequences, that’s when he started to finally feel less stressed about his situation.

There was only one person left at the party he hadn’t really talked to - this guy everyone called the school Freak - Eddie Munson, who was always somewhere in the background waiting to be summoned for drug deals. Steve found Eddie to be abrasive and a bit intimidating. He figured they’d hate each other, so he never tried to talk to him. 

But this was a time loop, so why the hell not?

“Hey,” Steve said, leaning against the wall where Eddie was. Eddie broke from people-watching as he’d been doing to stare at Steve in confusion.

“Uh…hi??” he responded. Steve laughed.

“I don’t think we’ve officially met. I’m -”

“King Steve, yeah I know who you are,” Eddie replied. Steve raised his eyebrows, then shrugged.

“Not so much a King anymore, but yeah,” he said. “I didn’t see you at graduation today.”

“That’s because I didn’t graduate.”

Steve didn’t understand at first. He thought that he’d had Eddie’s grade level wrong or something, but no. He was pretty sure Eddie had already repeated senior year once, which meant - 

Oh. Oh, shit.

“That blows,” Steve told him. Eddie shrugged.

“Yeah,” he said. “Today is kinda shit.”

“Tell me about it.”

The boys both continued leaning with their backs to the wall and watched everybody else. They were all so…happy and free. 

“What do you have to complain about, Harrington?” Eddie asked, a slight annoyance to his voice. “And why are you over here with me, anyway? You should be with them. That’s where you belong.” Steve shook his head. 

“Nah, I don’t belong there,” he said. “Honestly, I have no idea where I fit in anymore.”

There was another silence as they both wondered where to take the conversation from there. Eventually, Steve left the party and went home, only to wake up in bed again.

He skipped graduation this time and drove to Indianapolis instead. His parents would give him hell, but only if for whatever reason his decision broke the loop.

It didn’t. He woke up in bed, as usual. 

He wasn’t sure why he did it, but he found himself driving to Eddie’s trailer. He knew where he lived - everyone knew he was at the trailer park - and it wasn’t hard to find his specific trailer thanks to the beat up van parked in front of it.

Steve knocked on the door. Eddie opened it a minute later, a lit cigarette hanging from his lips.

“Uhh…hi?” Eddie said, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Steve smirked at the way his greeting hadn’t changed. “Why aren’t you at graduation?”

“Why aren’t you?” he shot back. It was a risky joke, but it paid off. Eddie chuckled.

“Yeah, touché. Come in I guess.” Steve followed Eddie into the trailer. It looked exactly how he’d expected it to look. Tommy had described the place a few times after he’d bought weed from Eddie. “So, can I interest you in any drugs, my liege?”

“I told you, I’m not -” Steve stopped himself, realizing that Eddie wouldn’t have remembered that conversation. Eddie waited with his eyebrows raised. “I don’t think I’m above you or anything, honest to God. At least, not anymore.”

“What changed?” Eddie asked. Steve shrugged.

“Everything.”

It was still slightly awkward between them. It felt almost as if something was being left unsaid. Like Steve was forgetting something, or that Eddie had a secret, too. But he was too out of it to care, really. Steve bought some weed and headed out. 

He then proceeded to go to the quarry and smoke all of it. He was still incredibly stoned by the time he passed out. Waking up in his bed was the most sobering feeling he’d ever experienced.

This time, he didn’t go to graduation, but he still went to the party. And he got drunk - VERY drunk. 

When he woke up, his memories from the night before were fuzzy. He was pretty sure he kissed someone. He also was pretty sure he spilled his guts - metaphorically and literally - but he couldn’t for the life of him remember anything else.

He checked the clock. Good thing none of his actions had any long term consequences, right?

He wasn’t sure why, but this loop he decided to play along. He was a good son. He wore the shirt his mother bought him and he still cheered for every name. 

Then, they got to the H’s. Tommy was grinning as he always did, eager to graduate. He’d still remained both popular and an asshole. He also happened to be right before Steve’s name in the alphabet.

That was another messed up thing about graduation. The order of it all - Hagan, Hargrove, Harrington. Steve had to hear people screaming their heads off over his enemies, and then hear the excitement die down for his own name. 

“Steve Harrington.”

Steve heard the clapping and froze. He couldn’t do it. He couldn’t walk the stage.

Then, the clapping was replaced with sounds of confusion. Then laughter. None of which had ever happened before. Steve looked up to find that someone had climbed onto the stage and was now being chased around by faculty. 

Someone with long brown curly hair and tattoos.

Steve couldn’t believe his eyes. Eddie had completely disrupted the ceremony, and now everything was out of control. Students were being rushed off the stage and back to their seats. Eddie was screaming curses and hailing Satan. And then, suddenly, he was making his way toward Steve. His eyes widened as Eddie grabbed Steve by the arm and dragged him out of the auditorium. 

“Dude, what the - what the hell? How did you -? Why-?”

“They’re gaining on us, come on!” Eddie replied, encouraging Steve to run faster. Steve stripped off his robe and ran as fast as his legs would carry him, and then the weirdest thing happened.

He started laughing. He felt free.

He ran with Eddie all the way to the beat-up van parked in the lot, and then he found himself climbing into the passenger seat and cheering when Eddie sped away. 

Steve smiled as he caught his breath, then looked to see Eddie looking exactly the same.

“Eddie, what are you -”

“I’ve been reliving this goddamn shitstorm day for god knows how long,” Eddie confessed. “Do you know how shitty it feels to have to wake up every morning and know that all your friends are graduating without you? Of course you don’t, because you actually graduated. But, you do know how it feels to wake up every day and feel shitty that your life sucks, so…”

“Wait, what?!” Steve responded, aghast. “How did you know that?” Eddie clicked his tongue to his teeth.

“You don’t remember much from last night, huh?” he asked, still driving down the road. “Or, this night I guess.”

Steve thought about it, and like a vision it all came back to him. He was drunk, he stumbled over to Eddie, and he told him - he told him - 

Oh, shit. Steve told Eddie everything. Like, down to the Nancy stuff and the parents stuff and of course the time loop stuff. He might have even let the Upside Down shit slip too. Steve shook his head, still processing all of it.

“So you’re telling me that -”

“I’m stuck in the time loop with you, Big Boy,” Eddie said. “So, I say we have some fun with it.”

It took Steve about five seconds to relax into the idea, but once he did, he was down completely.

“Yeah, okay,” he said. “What do you have in mind?”

Eddie grinned, then floored it until they were speeding through the town that Steve had come to hate. 

Steve fumbled with the hem of his shirt when it occurred to him that he still suspected he’d kissed someone at the party, and he was pretty certain he knew who it was.

He would have asked about it, but he decided to save it for later.

He and Eddie had all day together. They’d get to it eventually.

Real talk out of pure curiosity: I saw you posted you were working on chapter 59? Of your fic

How do you have the motivation to write 59 chapters of a fic? Or I guess how do you keep inspiration for it?

I tend to lose inspiration after like three chapters rip

Real talk: I've been working on chapter 59 for 3 months. XD

The story in question (Hypnotic Nightmare - AFO x F!Reader - TW: noncon/abusive relationship/non-reader directed violence) has been going since October 2020. It's 265,000 words and rising. I also have A Taste of Your Own Venom (Shigaraki Tomura x F!Reader - TW: consensual relationship but Tomura is pretty obviously a yandere) which is about 197,000 words and my original, professionally published book Maid For Your Master which is about 86,000 words (Gothic romance, horror, F!Reader insert, TW available here) and I am working on the sequel.

There are a few things that help me out writing these monsters:

I like slow burn relationships. Smut is great and all, but I need the back story to be seduced.

I binge produce 10-20k words at a time then take several weeks off to chill.

I try to have multiple projects so that when I can't work on one **cough cough Venom**, I work on another.

I don't post the chapters right away. I used to, but I find that writing them out, holding them back until I've started working on the next chapter, and editing them one more time before the post works best. Ideally, I like to work 5 chapters ahead because it lets me add new ideas and then build them in to previous chapters. This makes it more fun and less stressful.

I have an ending in mind before I post. This allows me to work towards an specific point which is satisfying to readers, even if I get distracted by writing out every kink on earth (eg. Hypnotic) or I need a break (Venom).

I don't post everything I write. I write out tons and tons of ideas and wait to see if I have the motivation to finish them. For example, I have a 5 chapter outline for a yandere professor Overhaul story which is waiting in the wings to be posted. Been working on that for two years.

I don't hold back when a short fic idea hits just right. That is why we've had things like Red Sky at Morning (AFO x F!reader - dubcon merman) and Hands-On Instruction (AFO x F! or M! reader - dubcon professor x college student). If someone suggests something and it sparks joy, I write it. If if doesn't, either because it's not my bag or I'm too over stressed to work on it right then, I usually just reply in private.

Truth is #4 is not happening with Hypnotic right now because these are the final chapters. I am hoping to make 60 the last and then write an epilogue to give closure.

Another thing to consider is that, for long fics (eg. > 5 chapters), I don't recommend posting them on Tumblr. Tumblr gets buggy after about 2k words, can randomly drop your post and seems to hate extensive formatting (eg - glitches after you make so many formatting changes or tags). Also, based on my two years of fanfic experience on this site, Tumblr users don't engage much with long fic as a rule. They prefer headcannons, short smut (eg - one chapter), witty one liners, etc.

For proof of this, let me point out that Part III of Feeling The Spirit has 89 likes and 25 reblogs. The <200 word SFW drabble I posted last night of Tomura clutching a plushie while gaming? Over 100 likes and 12 reblogs in 6 hours. Tumblr like fast and furious content.

Archive of Our Own is much better for long fic. The website is more stable, formatting is much better with HTML (see the text bubble exchange in the first chapter of Liar Played by the Heartstrings - it's my crowning glory), it's easier to scroll between chapters, and long fics do better with their algorithm. The more chapters you post to one story on Ao3, the more your fic gets bumped to the top, the more people see it. Tumblr shows your story more based on reblogs, so you want things that people can quickly agree with and move along because that's what they reblog.

If you're writing on Tumblr alone, losing motivation in 3 chapters makes sense because engagement drops like crazy. On Ao3, engagement doesn't really take off until chapter 10-15 (where people can binge read your stuff), so it's more motivating.

The honest truth is though - this is my natural temperament:

Ask anyone who has had the misfortune to DM me. My mouth doesn't have an off switch. One of my commenters on Feeling The Spirit compared me to Victor Hugo because I spent an entire chapter introducing the haunted house.

So... for example... Hypnotic started as a 5 chapter project... and then it kinda ran away with itself.

Honestly, the thing for me is that writing is a hobby, not my day job. I just write when it makes me happy and then post it slowly when I have enough content for people to enjoy. That keeps the pressure off and lets me share my messed up brain with all of you.

hali hey! about fanfic asks (my answers) i haven't read all of your works but i have read some of them, sorry!

1- i'm a big yoongi biased but i was impressed by Drabble The Store, i was so intrigued by the open ending! What did they do? Did they kill Hoseok? Did they become friends? And if they did, did anyone get suspicious? Were they caught? Did they kill each other? I loved it. And my favorite series is Mixtape, besides being the first work of yours that I've read, I really liked the character development, both of the main character and yoongi.

2- Okay, but the first chapter of GOTD is precious. I don't read much fantasy, but girl, what was that?

5- I haven't read anything related to Seokjin, Tae and Jungkook yet, but I promise I will soon when I have time.

9-GOTD AND I NEED TO EXPLAIN WHY? And obsidian… I need to know more about this man.

11- I really wanted you to explore The Store, but not necessarily the story if you don't want to. I loved the writing of this drabble, the fact that it's a serial killer made me love it even more because I love true crime and I miss finding a fic with this kind of plot.

12- I'm obsessed with Yoongi from Obsidian.

13- I always talk not only about your fics but about the fics of everyone I follow in general, moni's, mari's etc. to my psychologist. I don't know why I like to give her this information. When she asks me what I've been doing that's interesting since my last appointment, I tell her that I've been reading fics, and then I talk about all the fics and how they've affected me or reminded me of something from my childhood.

HELLO HELLO OKAY I AM SHOWERED AND READY FOR THIS

1 The Store was SO much fun to write and it really made me want to write something similar but full out in like a mini-series or full series next year, maybe. Not specifically for those two characters, but the same concept of like - what happens when two serial killers meet? Everyone can make up their own ending and I love hearing the different versions, I think in my perfect ending, they probably carry out the murder together and like revel in the fact that they have found someone who shares an interest so dark. I think eventually it would lead to competition and disaster though!!

AHHH Mixtape. That story is so close to my heart because it was the first thing I really wrote and posted on here and ahhhhh it is so good. The friendships in that are my favorite part, and of course, our very honest and communicative, Naruto-sleeve having Yoongi. That story really is dear to me so I am so glad that you like it.

2 I literally do not know. I originally started that idea as being inspired by the song Lilith but then I was like what if ... he's not a dark god or demon at all, what if he's the god of dreams and desires misconstrued as something dark because he rules over the night, nightmares and so often people equate sin and desire, sort of like reader's parents wanting her to be married/thinking she is like full of sin for wanting to be free! That one really really spoke to me as I wrote it and as I write chapter two, I'm sort of amazed by the direction that story steers me in. I don't really have an outline - that's one that just sort of goes where it needs to go as I write it.

5 Honestly it's sort of criminal of me, but I do not have a ton of content for Taehyung and Jungkook. I have an okay amount for Seokjin, though I do want to write more of him in the future, but Taehyung and Jungkook desperately need more fics added to their sections on my masterlist. It's part of why I started my series Lights to get some content for Jungkook on there.

9 I am writing both of those in tandem and it's hard but it's also fun. This chapter of Obsidian is VERY VERY action packed. As a secret, I can tell you that reader gets sent to do a very dangerous job for Jimin that puts her in a bad spot, and she might need to call that number that Yoongi gave her!

11 I actually want to explore this more. I really enjoyed psychological thrillers and I love the aspect of writing from morally grey characters who do not remotely think or behave the way that we, as mostly normal people, do. I really find them so intricate to write and I want to do more of it, but because of the dark nature of the topics, I will most likely put them on Hali After Dark. I'm not super sure what I want to do yet - I am stuck between dissolving that blog and doing what I want on here or keeping myself safe from any harassment for darker themes.

12 Yoongi from Obsidian is going to be the most hot and cold character I've ever written. If I had to describe him, I think it would be that he is someone who goes from very unpredictable and chaotic to absolutely focused and razor-sharp in a second. He is very good at making people think he is... silly and not to be taken seriously.

13 I think that is really sweet. When I was going to therapy I would talk to my therapist a TON about what I was writing and how I thought it was influenced by things going on in my life, or other stories that I was reading that I found comfort and introspection in. There are a few darker stories as well that have given me SO much insight and perspective on a lot of things I've never thought about and I don't know. I feel like you learn a lot from people when you read their stories!!

15 THIS MONTH!! I promise - I have nothing that I'm focused on outside of Obsidian and Gods of the Dark right now. My goal is to finish GotD by the end of the year and then Obsidian sometime next year. That one is definitely a long fic.

warnings: mentions of death (compliant with the lauren reynolds storyline) and grief

whilst emily and tsia were working together for interpol, they were best friends, like really close. practically inseparable. there was always a blurred line between platonic and romantic, but they would never admit that their heart’s would race at the thought of the other.

it was during emily’s time as lauren reynolds that tsia came to the realisation that she wouldn’t know what to do without emily by her side. watching her with ian was painful and she would do anything possible to stop her from getting hurt. they had to communicate through code and whenever a message was able to reach other of them from the other, it made their day, it gave them hope.

after ian doyle was taken into custody, it was decided that the members of the task force shouldn’t interact, they didn’t want to draw unwanted attention to themselves and make them a target. this broke emily and tsia’s heart. they were best friends, they relied on each other, they didn’t know how to cope without the other. but they parted. emily went to the bau and tsia went to paris. they moved on, made new friends and accepted that the ever present question of their relationship was determined to always remain platonic.

but then ian doyle escaped from prison and a plan was needed to put him away again. emily and tsia had assumed that they would never meet again, let alone under these circumstances, but here they were. all of their interactions took place over the phone, never once meeting face-to-face to reduce the chance of doyle finding them, but it was enough to resurface the suppressed emotions.

but emily will always be the same self-sacrificing person tsia met all those years ago. so emily went to find doyle. and it didn’t end well.

emily was dead. tsia was alone.

tsia was heartbroken. she had lost emily and she couldn’t help but think about everything that could’ve been. she remembered the longing looks from across busy rooms and soft touches and hugs that lasted a second too long and sharing clothes and comforting each other after nightmares and patching up wounds and that specific smile emily saved just for her. but they were only friends and now that’s all they ever were and ever could be.

and emily was in paris. alone. somehow she had to grieve the loss of her own life whilst rebuilding yet another cover in another country, forever on the run.

and then jj gave tsia an address at the funeral, with a note telling her it would help with the grief. so tsia goes to paris, and knocks on the door of a seemingly regular apartment just outside of the city centre, still questioning the purpose of this trip.

emily’s confused. no one is supposed to know her location, other than jj, so when she hears a knock on her door, she approaches it warily with her gun drawn.

the door opens and they just stare at each other for a few seconds - tsia in shock that emily is alive, and emily grateful for the familiar face. and suddenly tsia’s lips are on emily’s and after years of walking the fine line between a platonic and romantic relationship, it’s finally clear that they’re in love.

2021 FIC YEAR IN REVIEW

fandoms written in - Mostly The Mandalorian, A couple for the MCU specifically Loki and TFATWS, A couple of Batflash for The Justice League, and one for the CW Flash

did you write more, less, or about what you’d expected? -- OH WAY MORE. 2020 found me depressed consuming fic after fic and maybe writing a one-shot here and there or picking away at years old WIPs.  In 2021 I felt like for the first time in years that fandom truly was a community of friends and one that I was actually a part of instead of just lurking or being on the outside looking in. That inspired me more than anything else. Not only did I write my longest fic ever I wrote things in a day and posted them just for the hell of it, I wrote things for my new friends and I am just so grateful for the sparks they gave me.(Looking at y’all Dincobb Server)

what’s your own favourite story of the year? - Gotta be Breakfast on Tatooine I spent so many hours with it, writing and thinking about the characters, and I put so much of myself into it. It felt like such an achievement to write that.

did you take any writing risks this year? - Heck yeah. I did some AUs which I never really did before, I also wrote some of my first GNC and Trans Characters which I think was hugely because I’ve started to feel more validated in my own identity and I knew people would have a positive response.

do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the new year? - I have a few things I want to finish (and finally start) of course but other than that no goals just vibes.

most popular story of the year? Based on Kudos it was Mortified which was a drabble that only took me an hour or so to write and post but I think that has less to do with me and more to do with the sheer number of hungry Lokius Shippers there were after the first episode. It was followed closely by Scare My Nightmares Away Another short thing that I wrote in the dead of night when I couldn’t sleep but I will say the Batflash Ao3 contingent is small but mighty

story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion - I thought at first that some were underappreciated but I think it was a matter of timing or in some cases that the fandom was just really small and shy. Now that I’ve left some of them and looked back I see that the engagement is steadily rising so sometimes it just takes a while for people to circle back.

most fun story to write - I’m gonna throw a curveball and say Red Rivers Rise This was another I wrote in one sitting based on a few joke titles from the Dincobb Discord Server and it was funny and kooky and also my first time writing an explicitly Trans Male Character

biggest disappointment - I honestly can’t think of a single big disappointment. I’m so proud of me for making it past the funk I was in and becoming a better creator because of it. Any momentary disappointments I had have fallen away.

biggest surprise - My biggest surprise was finding the pairings and fandoms that I did. Before this year I wrote in mainly one fandom and one pairing and it was the same one I had been writing for since 2014. Not only did I find inspiration from other places but like I said before I found welcoming and supportive communities ready to accept me with open arms.
