the selective amnesia of marvel writers when it comes to major comic events makes me so insane. not only has tony been on a team with miles (all-new, all-different avengers, 2015), and has been a mentor figure to him since he crossed over from the ultimates universe (ultimate end, 2015), they somehow conveniently forgot that tony stark died in civil war II to protect miles. MILES. the kid he’s calling “newbie” and is somehow not one of his top favorite spider-people.
why is tony treating miles like they’ve never met when he went to war against carol and was punched into a coma to protect miles from being arrested for a crime he didn’t commit???? like mama let’s research before we start writing these comics
anyway yeah miles is one of tony stark’s favourite spider-people in the multiverse HE WAS WILLING TO DIE TO PROTECT HIM

Concept:
Konoha's spy master (Jiraiya) hears whispers that Yugakure is going to relinquish its status as a shinobi village. He gives this info to the Hokage, who tells him to try and scout out shinobi that could be brought to Konoha after the village quits being a shinobi village. Jiraiya (being fucking Jiraiya) is like "hell yeah sure" because it means he can peep on the numerous hot springs. He's settling down to peep in his first one when suddenly this massive bladed weapon comes flying out of nowhere and almost STABS HIM and when he looks at the assailant it's this fucking 16yo jonin with a strange pendant and slicked back silver hair. He's told by this FUCKING KID to "fuck off or I'll actually attack you" and after a good long while he learns that the kid's name is Hidan and he's the strongest shinobi in the whole damn village, and he's got this weird religion but that's okay, and then he drops the bomb that Yugakure is planning to basically dismantle the entire shinobi side of the village and Hidan is fucking PISSED and though it takes some convincing to get him to NOT try and kill some people over this development, he eventually agrees that he'd rather ditch Yugakure and live in Konoha
They don't find out he's immortal until he's already been in Konoha for like 2 years and it's on a mission gone wrong and his teammates are just stark terrified because he just STOOD THERE and took THREE SWORDS TO THREE DIFFERENT LETHAL POINTS
His excuse is just
"....I didn't realize you didn't know this about me I thought that that was why your stupid fucking spy dick sought me out"
Hidan is perfectly happy in Konoha as long as there are a steady stream of murder missions, and he's never shown a hint of potential disloyalty despite "abandoning" his old village so they just kinda keep him because honestly an immortal man is a pretty powerful asset for any village to have, even though he's bat shit insane.

My batshit fucking insane conservative nurse coworker who once used slavery as an argument that abortion access should be up to the state's discretion and not a universal right: You know you shouldn't be wearing your mask everywhere, it's going to hurt your immune system. >:(
Me, a girl who eats expired food off the apartment floor that she cleans exactly once a year, touches random bugs outside, and just randomly sticks her fingers and hands in her mouth without even thinking of washing them first: No, no I think I'll be ok.

You like Mumford and sons too? I'm convinced you're mad cool now. Do you know the civil wars? Devils backbone is so damn good.
BRO I FUCKING
LOVE
THE CIVIL WARS
their break up is absolutely one of the greatest tragedies in music history and every day i wake up in physical and metaphorical darkness knowing we will never get more music from them. fuck the beatles' break up, the civil wars is a greater loss. they had such an impact on idek what genre of music you would call that. americana? folky alternative music to be depressed to? also the fact that you mentioned devils backbone which is MY FAVORITE song from them has me in shambles. im gonna listen to it right now

this call was released anonymously (understandably) but my local Palestinian organizers who I literally trust with my life have endorsed it, and it seems to be gaining momentum in multiple cities, so I encourage you all to get involved:
"A proposal to coordinate a multi-city economic blockade on April 15th in solidarity with Palestine recently received overwhelming commitments to participate around the US and internationally.
The proposal states that in each city, we will identify and blockade major choke points in the economy, focusing on points of production and circulation with the aim of causing the most economic impact, as did the port shutdowns in recent months in Oakland, California and Melbourne, Australia, as just a few examples.
There is a sense in the streets in this recent and unprecedented movement for Palestine that escalation has become necessary: there is a need to shift from symbolic actions to those that cause pain to the economy.
As Yemen is bombed to secure global trade, and billions of dollars are sent to the Zionist war machine, we must recognize that the global economy is complicit in genocide and together we will coordinate to disrupt and blockade economic logistical hubs and the flow of capital."
ETA: since I posted, organizers in St. Louis, Seoul, Brussels, and the Netherlands have signed onto the agreement, so if you saw this before and your city wasn't listed look again. anyone with the capacity to do some outreach, and a few connections to start with, could take the initiative to bring their city or region on board. read the solidarity agreement and check out the resources, and if you know trustworthy people in your area who might be interested in this sort of thing, talk to them about it.
remember that this isn't a series of protests (although some cities are organizing protests in conjunction), it's a commitment to take mass direct action and to maintain a united front in the face of any state repression. many organizers are (and have already been) using an affinity group model to actually coordinate those direct actions. autonomous groups can take action on April 15th whether or not others in their city/region have committed to this agreement. just do your homework (look up know-your-rights info specific to where you live + general direct action safety tips) and take good care of each other
