Also, Cassim attacked Sinbad, which did not happen in the manga.

He did it in the manga, too, don't worry. i've just never commented it, but it was cool how he'd knelt to be on Alibaba's level here. It's a good strategy. I mean, don't get me wrong, I do believe Sinbad genuinely wants to help. But it doesn't distract from how good at persuasion/manipulation he is.

In the anime he looks so sad and unsure, but in the manga he seemed more determined.

"You're a hero, I know it." In the manga he'd called him brave. Small thing, but I just prefer the bravery thing, yknow? It feels... less grand? Bc the thing about Alibaba is that he's not that special, but he's brave, and that's what matters. Not that he's a big ass hero. But, like, it's a minor thing.

Ok, it's now that he looks determined. Or is supposed to, at least. He looks kind of angry, imo.

Ok, you know what? Anime!Sinbad is actually giving Alibaba some good advice/reassurance. "The fact that so many people came here is the proof of the current King's bad rule, and the hopes they place onto you. Let their voices be your strength." Damn

Something I didn't notice until that moment - Sinbad is much closer to Alibaba than he was in the manga. It gives you the feeling of Sinbad really being there for Alibaba, whereas in the manga Alibaba seemed far lonelier.

How is your character dissatisfied with their life?  His life is basically cultivated entirely to be a hellish trap for his entire personality!!!  There is no part of this he ~actually enjoys!  Everything he wants is everything he can’t have and he feels trapped and ultimately completely alone and unwanted and unlovable all of which btw are his v worst fears in this life so <3  plus, if he ever gives up on this competition that flies in the face of all that, he feels like he’ll just be confirming that all of those fears are 100% true so its lose/lose all the time

What does your character believe will bring them true happiness or contentment?  The crown!  But that’s a trap bc it can never make him happy in actuality once the coronation party is over <3

What definitive step could they take to turn their dream into a reality?  His real dream, which he doesn’t acknowledge to himself, is to escape all of this and live a simple life of love and affection but, like, he doesn’t even really know this is a possibility at all and, even if he did, he wouldn’t think it was for ~him bc he believes he’s unlovable :(  so!!  he would tell you, and truly believe, that becoming the next emperor is his dream!  and proving himself more capable than his bros is the only answer to that.  ironically, failing this tho is the only ~real way to be happy <3

Maxi found out about this last minute, but also her dad is too rich for her to get any financial aid / FAFSA

Books I read in October and my rating

1. Ninth house -Leigh bardugo -4/5

When I started reading this book I was so confused I didn’t know a single thing that was going on . Though after a while I got the plot and I loved it . Alex is an amazing strong main character . I’m upset about the cliffhanger miss bardugo needs to hurry her ass into releasing the second book rn.

2.Norwegian wood -murakami 4/5

This book was beyond amazing and heartbreaking, I was originally going to give this five stars but since it’s murakami the obscene language and sexism is always there . The ending was sad tho .

3.a clockwork orange - anthony burgess 3/5

well this book was really graphic and overall disturbing ( I wouldn’t say I enjoyed it but it was great ) main character was totally insane and so were his friends I mean the ending was ok .

4.daisy jones and the six -Taylor Jenkins Reid -5/5

i don’t think five stars are enough to describe how heartbreaking and amazing this book was , like truly a piece of art , when I tell you it had me sobbing and screaming , the ending caught me so off guard . Daisy was a strong and stubborn main character and I loved that . ( I loved all of the characters tbh ) daisybilly forreal broke my heart . ( I’m so exited for the tv adaptation the cast is just as good as the characters)

5.imagine me -tahere mafi (shatter me #6) -3/5

Im not going to deny that shatter me is one of my fave series and also my comfort series , however imagine me was quite disappointing, I didn’t like the dynamic between Anderson and Juliette , it’s like tahereh wanted us to feel bad for Paris which was ridiculous . I feel like they should’ve taken/ended the reestablishment differently. Though I loved the warnette wedding a lot the epilogue did justice to the book . KENJI AND NAZEERA THO they need their own books . ( ngl I cried w this book too lmfao)

6.the cruel prince -holly black -5.5/5

For a very long time I’ve known about the cruel prince due to booktok but I was never Interested on reading it . Well I did and I absolutely loved it , I originally only read it for jude and cardan but the politics are way more interesting it made me love the book even more ( it’s kind of like game of thrones but YA) again we have here anothe strong stubborn main character with shit loads of trauma which I loved , this book has all the hype it deserves tbh . Can’t wait to read the wicked king .

7. The white album -Joan didion -4/5

This is my first didion book . I cannot deny her talent she’s truly amazing , reading the white album did not only feel like a collection of experiences but it was entertaining and also super informative, it includes topics like Georgia O‘ keefe , Doris Lessing , the Manson murders , the Getty museum, the civil rights movement ( in general the whole 60s era ) cannot wait to read more of her work :)))

I've been thinking about different types of love languages, and I can't help but imagine the twst cast with people who have different types of love languages/ways of showing that they really care about someone.

Like, my love language is food, and I like to give food to people who I care about, like close friends. On top of that, the first character I really got attached to (like, during the countdown art and everything) was Ruggie, and at times I wonder how happy he'd be with a friend or partner who shows affection in that way.

Malleus would probably adore someone who shows their love for him through spending time with him (like, I've seen someone online talking about how their coworker ran to meet them on time at a cafe because they didn't want to make them wait/spend less time with them if they had walked)

Idk, I just feel like it's sweet how there are different ways that people show affection. The twst cast also probably have their own live languages too (you cannot convince me that Trey doesn't give food to people he cares about as a casual gesture)

I'm not sure if this is too coherent but I just figured it's be nice to share

I know of five love languages: Acts of service, Quality time, Words of affirmation, Physical touch, and Gifts Cooking and food could be under the acts of service and gift categories, respectively

It's very interesting to know your love languages and which you like to receive!

Ruggie - acts of service (giving), gifts & acts of service (receiving) I'm sure this boy would like it if you help him with chores, so those acts of service can also count as quality time together Gifts of food are definitely one of his favorites!

Jack - quality time (giving & receiving) Honestly, jack is hard for me to picture in this aspects

Lilia - acts of service & words of affirmation (giving), gifts & quality time (receiving) Ngl Lilia was hard for me to decipher. Much to the two following characters, his duty to serve Malleus makes him keen on offering help. Having raised two wonderful boys, Lilia knows his way around complimenting and giving nice comments to people to make them cheer up and feel confident. It's said that Vanrouge used to travel and would bring with him souvenirs, so I think he likes little trinkets to decorate his room with. This fae has many stories to share! Sit down and have a nice chat with him, he surely will adore it!

Silver - acts of service (giving), quality time (receiving) Being Malleus' ward, I get the feeling Silver will no doubt offer his help with anything you do. This boy appreciates when people spend time with him whenever he's awake and available, but won't decline if they wish to share a nap together.

Sebek - acts of service (giving), words of affirmation (receiving) Similar to Silver, his duty is to serve his Young Master. Sebek will offer to aid you on your chores and goals. HE LIKES TO BE PRAISED!! He even says so as one of his alchemy class lines! Pamper the croc boy with nice words~

JOSUKE!! I love Josuke so much!! I don’t think I have an ultimate favorite JoJo character tbh but he’s my favorite JoJo by far, he’s just such a good character?? So like this is dumb but I honestly wasn’t sure if I’d like DIU because of the fact in terms of story it isn’t as much of an epic as SDC, so I thought I’d be bored by it but God Was I WRONG

Listen, I love Jotaro, especially part four Jotaro, but I didn’t like him automatically when watching SDC because he just isn’t the type of character I automatically connect with tbh, I grew to love him over time but It Took Me Awhile ngl

Josuke tho?? I loved him the moment he was introduced and for me he was such a breath of fresh from Jotaro ngl. I just gelled with Josuke’s character a lot more; I love his kind heart (I love when Jotaro points out that the fact that one of Josuke’s stand’s main abilities is healing and how that’s a Gift in a world where everybody is trying to fight and get on top, I don’t remember the exact wording of that scene but I Loved It), I love the moments that he has where he’s kind of goofy and mischievous like in Shigechi’s Harvest or when he stole Joseph’s wallet, I like that he’s clearly a teen, like he’s not written as an adult which makes him feel more realistic to me. I don’t mean to project either but he also just reminds me of when I was a 16 year old. Just watching Josuke’s story I related to him a lot more than Jotaro (sorry I keep ragging on Jotaro, it’s just the jump from SDC to DIU was always really interesting to me) I also love how creative he is with his stand’s abilities!! Like when Crazy Diamond took apart that bike and put it back together, that was one of my favorite scenes in JoJo period. The moment Josuke became my favorite JoJo tho was when he was explaining to Koichi why his hair is styled as it is and just the realization that Josuke gets so mad at people for making fun of his hair because it’s meant to be a tribute to the stranger who saved his life, that shit H I T me. Like thinking at first it’s because Josuke is vain or insecure but it being revealed that No, it’s because you’re insulting his hero. And his hero being some random dude who saved his life when he was a kid, someone with no connection to Josuke, just a stranger that helped him and Tomoko from the kindness of his own heart when he himself was clearly in some sort of trouble. I loved that shit man. I like that he Is angry sometimes though!! That just because yes he is a healer and yes he does care about people and everything doesn’t mean he can’t be mad, I feel like characters like him are pigeonholed usually into just “I’m a nice person all the time and I have no other emotions”. I like that Josuke isn’t like that y’know? That he’s Allowed to be angry ig. It doesn’t mean he isn’t a kind person either, but also kid’s going through a lot and also he’s a teen, of course he can be Angry.

uhhhhh headcanons, tbh I haven’t really come up with that many for Josuke because I usually take time after consuming media to digest it but right after I finished DIU I went on to Vento Aureo, so I didn’t really think of much akskskdk but like gender wise I like to headcanon him as nonbinary and he uses he/they pronouns and sometimes she/her pronouns too!! Also I really like imaging that him and Tomoko are close, like growing up he’d help her with cooking and cleaning and just stuff like that and they have a really close bond :’)) I love Tomoko so much akskdk

I don’t really have certain songs that remind me of Josuke lyrically necessarily, but I associate him with a lot of disco, funk, and maybe a bit of glam too, for some reason I feel like he’d really like Prince :DD

Tbh I also have to mention that I love Josuke, but I love the characters of DIU in general. Josuke, Tomoko, Reimi, Okuyasu, Koichi, Rohan, Jotaro, Kira, Shinobu, Hayato, Tonio, all of them really (except for the Gross Ass people like that dude with the lock stand and that gross ass kid with the mannequin stand, they’re not important enough to me for me to go look up their names rn) I loved all of them and their connections with each other, Morioh is also one of my favorite settings (I love the cheery bright atmosphere contrasted with the dark shit going on in the background, I also loved that since it all took place in one town you got to *know* the town and it’s geography) Idk I just love DIU period, It just Makes Me Happy tbh😌😌😌

after he was done fighting the destroyer, you ran to give him a hug

which upset your mom a good bit, you had to help her through that episode. lots of sitting on the couch and eating ice cream together talking about how he wasn’t worth her time even tho you missed him too

but he came back! and then your mom sent everything flying bc she had an “infinity stone” inside her and thor took you two to asgard

tbh you really digged the outfit they gave you, but also you were on another planet? thor insisted on giving you a tour (by flying you around)

but asgard got attacked and you and jane were confined to a room in the palace, which sucked because you wanted to see it all

but thor sent guards to bring you anything to keep you entertained

after several events that count as child endangerment, this chapter came to an end and your mom and thor finally made it official

loki called you a rodent and then saved your life so you were kinda iffy about him

about a year or two later, your mom had to travel a great deal in order to get some work done, so you were left in the care of thor, who took you to avengers tower

“oh, my girlfriend’s child is an angel! and they’re so intelligent, just like their mother!” -thor gushing to other partygoers

“yeah, thor, your ‘angel’ is sneaking drinks from the elderly” -tony

*sipping his beer* “they’re a growing teenager”

you did have an amazing time interacting with the avengers

and once they tried grabbing the hammer, you knew you had to get in on it (but you failed like the rest)

“oh, that makes sense!” -you, while thor aggressively shakes his head at the other avengers. he just wanted to make sure you didn’t feel bad you weren’t worthy yet :(

valkyrie most definitely gave you some battle training so you you blow off some steam, you were glad she taught you how to fight like a true warrior

thor wanted to teach you battle tactics so you could fight alongside him, but he never got around to it

a raccoon and bruce banner visited later on, proposing a way to get your family back, thor was an emotional wreck

his debriefing on the reality stone was tense when he started crying about your mom and everyone stared at you

ending up waiting 1 second for the avengers to come back from their mission, resulting in you being stuck in the middle of a very heavy battle

okay so i've seen some comments around about Clarence's "How do you keep your pecker up" remark and just thought i'd- dude's fingernails. wow they're so shiny. ahem -mention here that i've looked into this expression before and it's actually a term that i guess is mainly used in England or something and it's like nose = beak = 'pecker' as in birds which ‘peck’ things with their beaks. It's basically the same as "keep your chin up". Snufkin says it to Moomin. I mean with Clarence i wouldn't put it past him to mean it another way but also given where the show is set it makes sense he would use such a term.

ngl i want to Know about Angelica tho like. why is she Brutalized. why did Clarence send her awaey. i actually want to know about the whole family. I feel like it's a three separate moms situation but even if it's only two separate moms Where Are The Moms. did Clarence send Them awaey too? Did one or more of them Die? Were they Killed? oh god what if it's like in Light Princess and he actually Had (one of/)Them Executed. Toulouse: gosh. i love SFS bc im trash for childhood friends and they’re both unhappy fitting into these boxes that have been designated for them but i also love that they love each other because they are literally designed to love each other like they are a Match Made in Heaven on paper. i love Louette because they are very--soft and rosy. from the very first time they rped their chemistry just came really immediately and i love that about them, lou feels very natural and like he can relax around annette bc she’s just so lovely and gentle and lou needs people like that. and i love louttie bc lottie is just like some foreign creature to toulouse she’s so genuine and nice and liek a big ball of sunshine and lou has absolutely no idea what to do with her but it’s so great. and they match in intellect (not that the others arent also smart) but lottie is v much a nerd and lou is a nerd so. gosh who else. i woulda shipped w alice but it’s weird now bc of kiara and callie sorry. but they had a great dynamic. okay they still do as friends. also KOVU AND TOULOUSE FOREVER I WILL GO DOWN WITH THAT SHIP OKAY FUKC YOU. also sotou but tbh sophie is too soft for toulouse like that would just not be a good relationship but i wish bc they are so cute and precious to me. wow this is long as hell

I’m gonna start this off by saying episode 18 was uncalled for and that I hate everyone. Anyways I’ll just talk about the characters because i think the reblogged things were self-explanatory~ Seonwoo/dog-bird: I  love  seojoon, and i honestly mainly watched this drama because of him. his acting is amazing and so is his face. i admired his character a lot because of how strong and brave he was. from the start, just… fearless. Jidwi/Jiheung: he’s just a baby :( he really is. his mom’s been overprotective of him and he’s kinda sick and tired of being in the shadows (and also having people get killed when they find out he’s the future king of Silla). i’m glad he finally became king at the end. i wasn’t expecting him to, because everything was screaming ‘you’ll never make it’ because he was portrayed as a weak character… and countless times, seonwoo overpowered him with bravery. i cant imagine how that must have felt. and he kept questioning why he should be king, or how he’s even going to become king. but im so glad he did. lil bby’s growing up :’) also really happy that seonwoo didn’t kill him in revenge for makmoon. im also super happy how he gently told his mother at the end that he’ll rule now, and that although his way of ruling will be different from hers, it’ll still be to protect Silla and the people. Ahro: ngl i got tired of watching her cry, but tbh the stuff she went through like…. i’d be crying too omfg. she was used to get to seonwoo and jiheung omfg. i was so frustrated about that and it bothered me so much.. but in the end, she still had a good heart and helped anyone she could. she gave hope to the silla people who were trapped in the temporary jail. i think everyone needs someone to give them hope~ Sooho: MINHOOOOOOOOOO MY BBY!!! i love him so much, but tbh i prefer him in To The Beautiful You than this drama. (tbh mainly because of seojoon jsfijgsif) but he was amazing regardless. i love him and banryu’s relationship. they both had a rivalry and sooho somewhat got closer to him. he was always the one initiating some kind of friendship between the two. sooho was warm, despite being a player and all that, he was warm. (kinda weird how he had a crush on the queen tho) Banryu: MY BABY BOYY!!!!!!!! EVERYTIME HE SMILED MY HEART JUST LEAPED OUT OF MY CHEST BECAUSE HE WAS SO BEAUTIFULLLL!!! He was constantly struggling whether to be the bad guy that his “father” wanted and i was like no banryu!! no!! i like that despite everything, he became one of the good guys. he was in hwarang after all. funny how he didnt want to be at first, but then it was like hey, it’s not so bad after all? he got someone who would believe in him (sooyeon - and sooho even!) so i was really happy with his character development. :D Sooyeon: man if she was real, i’d go and thank her. even though banryu rejected her sometimes, she still didn’t give up. i think part of her knew he loved her. so sweet :’)))) i loved their relationship so much. making the tough looking banryu melt into a big puddle of goo T_T so cute. she was so pretty too T___T Yeowool: PRETTY BOY ALERT. I recognized him from Mask i think? i think he was the driver/secretary for the male lead in that one. anyways, in this drama, his first appearance was simply him wearing a pretty white robe and looking all elegant AND I WAS SCREAMING BC HE SAID “what? haven’t you seen a pretty boy before?” AND I WAS LIKE AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEESS!! PRETTY BOY!! pretty boys are the reason for my existence tbh. Hansung: he’s such an important precious child T-T all he ever wanted was his older brother to be at the same level as he was :(( HE WAS SO PURE. he slowly made his way into my heart and when he was gone, i felt like someone had literally taken a part of me with him T_T i will honestly never forgive the writers for doing that to him. never ever ever ever. this was the hardest i’ve ever cried over a drama… his smile at the end of it all just made everything worse because he really was so pure and so innocent, and he just wanted what was best for everyone. i’ll miss him forever, i love him so much, i wish nothing happened to him because he didn’t deserve that, he really didnt. Danse: tough. always looking out for his younger brother, and trying to push him to become a stronger person, both in mind and body (because Hansung had a big heart already T-T) . i think in the end, he became part of the hwarang? which i was really happy about because seonwoo was like 'you’re not my servant, you’re my equal’ and i was happy to see him among the other hwarangs. Overall, I thought it was a great drama, and it was the first historical drama i actually sat through and finished watching! now i can cross that off my bucket list LMAO. The ending was a surprise to me, because i actually thought seonwoo would become the king, but he didnt! the old father dude’s plans were ruined YES!! By ruling Silla, Jiheung will learn, and he’ll have bad experiences along with the good, but hopefully, mostly good. Idk what’ll happen with that other crown prince from that city though ;) Hwarang 2 anyone? bring hansung back and maybe i’ll forgive the writers -_-

omfg... i’m glad you liked it enough to binge through it like that lmao! i was the same when i double loaded it and it was great tbh. but honestly same??? i played a lot of otome games in high school too, and then over winter break i re-played some of my favorite ones and found new one since voltage inc. developed a new app called “love 365″ which i guess they intend to transfer their games onto so it’s all on one app and it’s so nice bc they offer a few stories for free each month and i’ve finished quite a few jdfkghdkjgd just know i’m otome trash and i love the story lines and some of the guys are just so adorable and i love spending like a day just binging through the free stories and sometimes buying new ones if i really like the series. i did not play mystic messenger tho, i couldn’t keep up with the really late night convos and i really like how interactive it is but i’m also someone who values sleep and who hates missing stuff so if i ever suffer through really bad insomnia then maybe i’ll play it again

(in short this white woman thought she could write a sci-fi dystopian fic that channels the ugly East Meets West ideal which is just white ppl trying out Asian aesthetics like Asian culture is just an entire aesthetic to try??? like???????? idk what home girl was thinking but the plot itself was filled with hole, the main character “linh cinder” --lemme just interject that idc if culture was suddenly wiped out in a nuclear fall out bc 1) where is the worry about radiation?? and 2) a western name will always be followed by the “Asian” last name so it should technically be cinder linh but Asian aesthetics amirite???-- was just bland and did not develop and she was just So Annoying, and my only qualm for taking that class on YA lit was having to read this book bc it was the biggest No of my life and i will hate it always lmao. i’m sorry this was such a big digression but i really... have strong feelings about this LOL

anyway, my first story................. i really..... i really can’t remember LOL. i used to make up stories about the star constellations bc being as young as i was (like 6) i had no clue what they really looked like so i would just make up stories abt princesses saving princes and i remember the princess defeated the dragon and saved the kingdom and everyone was so happy!

omg i love that! i support this teacher!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and omg, fall 2019! maybe we’ll see each other,,,, fingers crossed. i’m tryna graduate that quarter tho so we’ll see how 3rd goes bc sometimes school’s be playin by not offering me the classes that i NEED.
