Artworks by Thomas Moran.
Thomas is a painter born from England in February of 1837, his family relocated to the United States when he was 7. They first settled into Baltimore and moved around until they moved to Philadelphia where Thomas decided to grow a career as a teenage apprentice to the Philadelphia wood-engraving firm Scattergood & Telfer. His work was monotonous and decided to focus on water color in his free time.
That was the beginning of his story to go on to be one of the leaders of the etching revival in the United States and Great Britain.
