seeing people comment on that first aid kit post like "what are you people doing that you need this" is so wild because like. i have a coworker who got her finger slammed in a door at exactly the right spot and angle to somehow pop the entire tip of her finger off. the whole joint just came apart! it's not like the door was sharp. she had her hand in the wrong place at the wrong time. sometimes you're trying to get the groceries inside and shit happens. injuries are not a punishment exclusively meted out to those that live dangerously.

Rewatching the finale, Jinx is actually a lot more self-aware than people make her out to be. I find it funny how people say Silco manipulated her into becoming Jinx when she herself reveals that his words over the years weren’t what shaped her into this. She even recognizes that he projects his trauma onto her. So like… I don’t think she was manipulated. She’s not oblivious.

working on a concept for a dpxdc fanfic.

Tim, 17, is at the tail end of junior year at Gotham Academy. During gym he typically ducks into the toilet stalls or showers to change. He’s a vigilante and he can’t exactly explain his bruises/cuts/scars without causing concern, thus he just avoids anyone finding out at all. Unbeknownst to him, one of his classmates was in the same situation.

Wesley Weston was always late to the class after PE, he was always the last out of the locker room. He always showered after class and was very meticulous about putting away and taking out his uniform. He’d even refold his gym clothes a few times and comb his hair until nothing was out of place. Some thought he had OCD, others thought he was vain, and others still thought he was fruitlessly trying to be accepted; Wes was a known loner. There was plenty of speculation when the gossip mill was slow but in reality, Wes always stalled so he could change as quickly as humanly possible, but only after the room was empty.

By pure chance Tim forgets to switch out his gym shoes for his uniform shoes after PE one day and when he gets back to the locker room, it’s locked. Makes sense, the coaches always lock the locker rooms when there isn’t a class using them. Not having time to track down the coach and not wanting to be late to class, Tim picks the lock and out of habit, slips in quietly. He rounds the corner and sees Wes changing. More than that, he sees that Wes is covered in scars and scrapes. And in plain view is the still raw and distinctive injury Damian gave a mysterious, non-bat/bird affiliated vigilante recently.

That is how Tim accidentally discovers that Wesley Weston is Spyris. Spyris who appears and disappears without rhyme nor reason, who sometimes will hunt down Batman’s rogues and who sometimes will walk right past them. No one knows what Spyris does or why, just that he’s there and he’s competent enough to evade the batclan for the several months they’ve known about him.

Maybe he notices then or maybe Tim confronts him about it later but in any case, Wes automatically threatens to out him as Red Robin if he says anything and Tim is shook. When did Wes find out, how long has he known, how did he figure it out. Was anyone else compromised? And what did Wes want? What was Spyris’ goal?

Overall I want Valerie, Sam, Tucker, Danny, and Wes to be vigilantes in Gotham for whatever reason (ghost stuff?) working as a unit, but Spyris is the only one the bats/birds are aware of.

I think another aspect of conservative thought people need to understand is the idea that it's all about dominance.

The reason why sayings like "we don't want to trans your kids, we want trans kids to live" is because, in the conservative mind, you are replacing their dominance with your own. It can never be about what is best for others, it is always about expressing absolute power and control.

Natural selection, at its ideal, will weed out the people who "shouldn't live." If their existence is a threat to the already-established hierarchy, then it's obvious that they shouldn't exist in order to challenge hierarchy.

While this certainly isn't a "conservative-only" mindset, it's a trend I have noticed more in conservative spaces. This is why I don't always think it's helpful to go on about how, "Oh, we don't want to threaten your worldview. We just want people to live 😊". You will fundamentally be threatening their power in their minds. Therefore, nothing you say can truly take away from the anxiety, fear, and anger at losing control that may be instilled.

I’ve thought on this scenario and I can see what you’re saying anon! A lot of people go this route, but I like to think that perhaps in that situation he’d be more concerned over Akari’s safety out in the wilderness than going and attacking Kamado — at least if he did get involved at all.

Personally the only thing I can see causing him to get like this is if he got the chance to personally confront the thing that pulled him to Hisui.

So many theories — Arceus themselves, Giratina at Volo’s command to open rifts, an Ultra Beast through an Ultra Wormhole — I think each one would bring some level of anger to it, either at the situation or the entity that did it.

He was pulled right out of his life and lost everything dear to him against his will (I’m assuming), and was just left adrift in a murky haze. And then to possibly find out whatever did it doesn’t even care or know they stripped him of everything? Maybe he’d be more angry at the situation he’s found himself in rather than the entity that caused it at that point. I don’t know, I’d have to think about it more. ^^
