guys guys guys

i want to show y’all my oc i made today :D

her name is Octavia, and she was one of strips old racing friends! they had a friendship like cal and lightning

she stared racing in 1967 at 17yr and died in 1996 at 46yr with 4 piston cups

she raced for a cigarette company that went out of business in 2000

octavia had a couple nicknames on the track as well, such as:

-“The Kings Executor” bc if you had a problem with strip then you probably had a problem with her, and she dose not let things slide (this lead to her and chick fighting, a LOT)

-“She-Devil” she was a VERY reckless driver and she still holds the record of most fights on track in piston cup history

how strip, the nicest rookie the the track became best friends with a gremlin like octavia, no one knows 🤷‍♀️

my poor boy roger was pulling them out of so much shit, it was unbelievable 😭

i’m also working on another oc named sam thats also in their little group of racers so stay tuned for that 😛

new year, same me?

It's a new year and things still feel the same as last year. I know it's only been a few days, but was hoping for some instant gratification. Welp, I feel the same. Maybe that wasn't a resonable desire. Just wanted to dream a little and pretend that once the clock struck 12 midnight I would feel brand new. Just like magic. poof, and there it is.

Designs for Adrian Toomes (no flight suit yet though) and Kraven.

I went for something closer to the comics with Adrian, but had my own take on it. I wanted to go for a businessman/scientist look and I imagine he is one of the scientists/engineers under Norman at Oscorp, but tended to get the short end of the stick a few times, which lead to his turn to villainy. (Almost like in the Spectacular Spiderman).

As it turns out, he has a granddaughter, so I included Tiana as a ten year old and made her bi-racial like in the comics. She is sweet and shows some scientific talent (unlike her good-for-nothing father who left her and her mother). She and her mother are the only people Adrian cares about. Also it turns out she’s one of Miles’ love interests in the comics, but I’m just letting her have an innocent crush on him since there’s a bit of an age gap in this scenario.

I kept Kraven’s look slightly toned down from how he looks in the comics, but kept some elements while adding my own. He still hunts animals and goes after people…. But he’s also the world’s weirdest animal activist because he believes there should be honor in the hunt and to let the animal have an equal chance of winning (and NOTHING goes to waste if it dies). The animal SHOULD be allowed a quick and honorable end if it is to be successfully defeated. He also will NOT kill an animal if its part of an endangered species or if it won’t pose a real challenge. But again, he’s not supposed to be a good guy. (Also, oh hey there Namor, who I’m sure might not be a huge fan of Kraven in the comics).

I had to add Calypso if I was making Kraven. I don’t know much about her but she was a challenge because her existing designs are either already pretty good… or horribly… uh… outdated for want of a better word. I think she turned out alright here.

Well now, who’s this dashing person? No way could this upstanding man ever be the type to ditch his comfortable position on the court of Spades and become a Joker -- right?

Hahaha, yeah, this is Jacob Cromwell, long before his Escape Artist days, back when he still happily worked for the infamous “Counselor,” the Jack of Spades, Duncan Ashe! Looks like he’s just about to head into work, getting off the trolley so he can walk the rest of the way through the capitol to see his OTL buddy, Ashe. Today he’s by himself and looking chipper, but trust me, on those days he could bring his little sister Carewyn with him into the capitol, you’d find Jacob in an even more cheerful mood. It was not uncommon back in those days for Jacob and Carewyn to end up entertaining the passengers of the trolley with their singing, since Jacob would be so thrilled to share his work with his sister and spend time with both her and Ashe, and Carewyn would just feed off of Jacob’s enthusiasm. ^.^

Music accompaniment while working on this piece included The Trolley Song from Meet Me in St. Louis, Merry-Go-Round of Life from Howl’s Moving Castle, We Built This City by Starship, Why Should I Worry? from Oliver and Company and Down in New Orleans from The Princess and the Frog. Jacob’s outfit, if colored, I see following Duncan’s color scheme quite a bit -- Jacob even has an ascot similar to his boss’s. You also may notice that if you count up all the spades in Jacob’s outfit -- including the fingerless Spade-themed gloves -- that he’s wearing exactly nine spades, which corresponds to the card I associate with him!

I didn't want to say anything on that Disney designer dolls post cause op is the person who designed the dolls but he did Tiana SO DIRTY why did he use that dress 😭 ik it was meant to be based on what was popular in the years the movie came out but like that dress does not seem like what a grown adult would have worn in 2009?
