'bade miyan chote miyan' is an insanely messy movie

(what to expect: no spoilers)

this movie has: 1. over the top hype 2. intensely cringe dialogue at points (and i have a high tolerance) 3. a storyline that compromises its character & narrative depth for plot complexity, and ends up falling a bit short on both. 4. a terrible of usage of what could have been strong female characters.

having said that though, this is a movie that gives us [in no particular order]:

✓ a movie that begins with a fight scene (feat. manushi chhillar)

✓ fervent glances? between two men (especially when the other isn't looking)

✓ intense eye contact between homebois

✓ banter? bickering like a married couple? (hello, enemies to lovers)

✓ two explicit declarations of love (this isn't even a joke)

✓ wonderfully choreographed fight sequences (though the camerawork sometimes prevents us from appreciating the details)

✓ a sonakshi sinha cameo

✓ a villain with a solid backstory, but SIMULTANEOUSLY psychopathic for no reason at all (which is a bit refreshing)

✓ excessive handholding (not exaggerating, at least eleven times)

✓ refusing to let go of said hand (even in dangerous situations)

✓ prithviraj with long hair

✓ a villain that does NOT monologue, other than giving us essential backstory (finally!)

✓ a cheek kiss?? (again, not kidding. yes, between the main characters.)

✓ telepathic understanding between our main bois

✓ prithviraj with long hair (if i hadn't mentioned already)

✓ a cohesive, fast-paced, fun story, with plenty of plot points and surprising moments (crazy amount of potential)

(what you are ALSO signing up for):

the overt sexualization of men. men being tiger shroff and akshay kumar. (did i mention tiger shroff?)

a genius character who is also a professional simp 86% of the time

MULTIPLE dialogues that make you want to gag 😃(but entertaining in it's own weird way)

a blatant reference to the RRR dance scene during a dance montage of tiger & akshay (goood times)

prithviraj giving his 124% to a character, as usual (in a movie that is incapable of being taken seriously at times)

witnessing the lost potential of three potential badass female characters

situations that should not be escapable (but surprise, they are)

situations that should not be survivable (again, surprise)

obvious references to multiple other movies and real life memes (choti bachi ho kya?)

if i a had a nickel for every time tiger's character is a soldier who falls obsessively in love with an intensely patriotic mentor almost twice his age (bonus points if the mentor has one (1) failed relationship) in a movie that deals with human replication of some sort, directly involving him.

AND when encountered with a grenade, has him deciding to run from it with said mentor instead of just kicking it away, i would have two nickels, and that's too oddly specific to have two nickels for.

Headcanon pt 2

Part 2

So Khalid follows Kabir like a meek puppy to the 3rd floor where their room is and Kabir is not even giving a 2nd glance to Khalid. They enter the room and as expected there is only one bed. Khalid stands awkwardly against the closed door waiting for the next command. Kabir however pays him no mind and goes down to set his bags. Kabir motions for him to set his bags down and khalid can feel the majors eyes on him. Khalid blushes and straightens up. Kabir leaves to take a bath and motions for him to take one too as he exits after the bath. Khalid is drowsy from the warm water as he returns and crashes onto the couch with half wet hair however his trip to dreamland is cut off by a shadow looming over him. He opens his eyes to stare into the hazel eyes of the major quizzically. Kabir's face softens 'we need everyone in excellent condition tomorrow i am not losing our target because u developed a crick in your neck'

Khalid blushes

Ill be fine sir

go sleep on the bed. Thats an order

But what about you sir?

I have work left to do. i dont think ill be sleeping tonight

Khalid moves to the bed however is unable to fall asleep due to guilt of sleeping soundly while his superior works.Kabir seems to notice his reluctance and shoots him a glare over his glasses

I said , Sleep

Shivers crawled over Khalid's spine at that tone

Im sorry Sir its just that you're working while im about to sleep like a log

I said its fine didnt i? Kabir huffs but when he sees that the younger male has no plans of sleeping while he was working. He shuts his laptop and moves towards the bed

Khalid watched the major with curious eyes and shifted to the furthest corner away so as to give the older man space

Kabir rolls his eyes' I dont bite just so you know'

The younger man looks chastised and mumbles something under his breath. Kabir decides not to interrogate the frazzled man and moves to sleep under the bed covers however 5 minutes later when the younger man seemed to be making no move to sleep , He shoots him a glare

Khalid snaps out of his reverie and switches the bedside lamps off

goodnight sir

Kabir can hear the shuffling of sheets as the younger man tucks himself in and soon enough Khalid's breathing evens out.

Khalid as Kabir would find out is a deep sleeper. He does wake up at the correct time in the morning yet not even a missile could wake him up before that. At some point during the night, the younger man had twisted and rolled his way to Kabir's side of the bed. The motions woke up Kabir who was a light sleeper. He had half a mind to wake the boy up but something about the face steeped in the innocence of sleep stopped him. Khalid eventually ended up nuzzling against his side. Kabir was not used to sharing his bed or personal space, he tried to push the man away but the small whine that arose at the action caused him to still. Kabir let it be as there was technically no harm done

Khalid woke up next morning surprisingly warm, the reason for the warmth he discovered was the body next to him. The wheels turned in Khalid's head and he shot away from the body at the speed of a bullet. the sound wakes up kabir

'im sorry sir, i wasnt aware i had this habit. I apologize ill share a room with Saurabh next time.'

kyon? kya tumako saurabh ko mere zyaada pasand hai?

The boy looked lost for words. Kabir takes pity on him.

'If i was offended i would've woken you up when you started entrapping me like an octopus at night'

Khalid blushes a healthy shade of red

Sorry

Kabir rolls his eyes at the younger man

'so jao ab. Ill wake you up in time'

Khalid mentally beats himself up and moves to the furthest corner of the bed to lie down and sleep. He was drifting off when he felt a pair of strong arms wrapping around his waist and pulling him backwards onto a toned chest

Sir

So jao khalid. that's an order
