Jason simps(not me)need to lower their voices with how they talk about Tim regarding attraction like sorry but Tim's a boy next door secret superhero who dropped out high school, has a photography hobby and is an actual skater boy instead of ✨️vibes✨️ which do not exist and Mizz Lavigne Will Pay but back on topic he's also a canon bisexy king and peak realistic traumatized teenage boy rep while Jason's a grown ass man who's only friends are his ex girlfriends and TIM'S ex girlfriend and his bestie is Duke-literally his brother, thinks Jane Austen is a good author, blames everybody else for his reputation going to ass because HE entered his slasher era and dosen't even game or eat neapolitan food on a regular basis like he should.Tim is good taste in men,Jason is just taste in men and that's why i'm the only one who knows what he tastes like

Tim Drake doesn't belong to just one category. He goes from a punk skateboarder who gives 0 shits about gender to a well-behaved society child to a high-school dropout to CEO of Wayne Enterprises to a caffeine addict who hasn't slept in 4 days to a better detective than Batman himself to a eldritch creature that seems possessed to a cute stalker child who knows everything about you to-

I 1000% understand that Tim Drake is a sassy little asshole who thinks he is better than you and will let you know it.
But additionally.
I want to go back in time and punch Bruce and Alfred and (a little bit) Dick in their taints for treating him like an inconvenience, a burden and an afterthought.
Alred won't let you have a fucking cat? Punch to the taint.
Bruce keeps giving and then taking away the Robin mantle? Punch to the taint.
Bruce and Alfred conspire to GASLIGHT this child in the lead up to his 16th birthday, driving a paranoid wedge between him and the people he trusts most and then act like it's some gift to give him approval for figuring it out? PUNCHY PUNCHY TAINT.
Dick not being willing to even entertain Tim's theory that Bruce is still alive despite them all knowing multiple folks who have returned from death (Jason, looking at you bud)? TAINTY PUNCH!
Bruce telling Tim what a disappointment he is for the THOUGHT CRIME of murdering the man who had murdered Tim's father? I would like to destroy his taint in the least fun way imaginable.
Lots of bruised taint, y'all.

BRO!!!
Bro.
A Batman fanfiction called ‘Must Have Been the Wind’ about Tim Drake leaving Gotham to pursue self-betterment after realizing how badly the batfamily treats him. Dick was nice at first before Dick wanted to send him to Arkham for his ‘mental instability’ and Tim Drake is desperate for love from being so starved of it from his own family. He’s used to being treated badly, explains it away, and even expects it because he’s never known better in his life ever.
Bruce is always too late, for being a detective he is rather blind to actual problems until they have already occurred. He can solve a murder, but he can’t save anyone. He deals in facts, not sensitivities.
Alfred is either silent or an appeaser to both sides.
Dick tries to send him away to Arkham.
Jason tries to murder him.
Cass tried to murder him in the beginning, and even with their now good relationship she abandons him to go to Hong Kong when he needs her most.
Damian tries to murder him multiple times, actively antagonizes him, and still hates him.
I’d like to think he’s scared of anything else at first because he’s used to silently suffering, and something new is much scarier than something familiar. Tim thought it was normal, that his life with his parents and the Wayne’s was love, but ever the detective he starts to question things when he goes to Ives’ house. He has so many questions; like why do his parents ask about his day? Lean in close, rub his shoulder, look at him so affectionately? Playful arguments, laughing at the dinner table, helping each other with dishes, taking care of the other when they’re sick? Why do they want him when to Tim, children should only be around when they are needed without exception? To Tim, children are a necessity because they are expected, not wanted, because Tim is and feels unwanted so much and seeing a family acting like this..he gets a little emotional and confused.
He might act out, yell rage and scream, ‘why do your parents love you, but mine never did!??!!’ And cry while being hugged and soothed. Or he might watch on with scientific integrity, with no spoken opinion, only to politely ask Ives carefully formed questions later in the comfort of only his presence so no one else will be able to hear his voice tremble, see him break whilst his theories are confirmed. He has been abused. By both his parents and Bruce, and not in entirely dissimilar ways either which is probably why he didn’t notice. If Bruce hit him he would have said something, if Bruce touched him he would have went to Dick who would keep him safe, but Bruce hurts him with his inaction. He hold back on touch, love, affection, everything Tim has already been deprived of. Dick gives plenty of hugs, but it’s different from someone who’s supposed to be your father, it is something Tim has never experienced before and fears he never will.
So he leaves, keeps in touch with Ives who showed him what a loving family should act like and anyone else who he thinks would care (Kon, Bart, Cassie, even Duke!!), then disappears into the winds one day. No one notices for months, could even be years, it’s not like Tim is keeping track. At first though, he does. He dreads the fact he left immediately, starts counting the days from the first, hoping and wistfully wondering if one of them is frantically searching for him…but after a while those feelings fade away and he is left feeling utterly content in the knowledge that he got away before he became another dead robin. It was all he would have been in the end, no name, no Tim Drake, Tim Wayne, or just Tim.
He’d have been another faceless robin who died at a time when he should have been going to friends houses, going through puberty, going to parties, teenage angst, petty arguments, hate, love love love —having a life that didn’t revolve around covering up broken bones and bruises in time for school with 30 missing assignments cause he was too busy fighting crime— normal kid things. Instead, he was given two parents who were never around enough to care about him, and gained a brother and a father who only saw his dead successor in everything he did. It made him feel fake, a complete fraud, inhuman. He had to earn their love when he should have already had it.
Now he’s willingly lost everything to start over again, and he’s okay with that. Tim has accepted that sometimes you need to let things go to let other things in. Two steps back to take five steps forward.
Present day, Tim lives in a nice suburban neighborhood where everyone knows each other and the community is small but strong. The type of community where you’ll walk your dog and everyone who passes by will wave and ask about your day, even invite you to their house for dinner. It’s not what his parents would have wanted, but it’s what Tim wants and Tim doesn’t think he has ever had the chance to freely want something before coming here.
He’s not hiding either, he still goes by Tim Drake, Ives comes to visit him when he feels well enough to, Kon, Bart, and Cassie call weekly to talk about life sans superheroing. Even Duke visits in the evenings on weekends and sleeps over on saturdays before leaving late on Sunday because he’s got school tomorrow.
Anyone could find him anytime, but no one has—Dick, Jason, Cass, Damian, Bruce— because they don’t realize they lost him. One day they might finally understand, or attempt to make amends when they try to become better.
Bruce might hug him and say he loves him
Alfred might call him ‘dear boy’ and ask if he’s been eating
Dick might congratulate him for finding peace
Jason might apologize and make it up to him by cooking one of alfreds recipes
Cass might come home permanently and just lie down next to him, no words needed
Damian might pet his dog and call him Timothy
Though, for now Tim doesn’t worry about waiting because the only thing he’s waiting for everyday is walking his dog in the morning and talking to friends who love him. That’s all he needs.
SUMMARY: fanfiction idea about tim healing from toxic family relations and learning how to love and appreciate himself the way he shouldve since the beginning, but he went from shitty parents to even shittier parent so he never had the time to take a breather and think that he doesnt deserve this treatment

Hi! I just wanted to ask if you had any maribat angst fics you could recommend?
Maribat Angst Recommendations
My first request! How exciting! Now the angst in these aren't much (except the third one), might make a part 2 when I dig through all the posts I've liked. For now, this is what I've gathered.
Siblings don’t shake hands, siblings gotta hug! by @timinette-is-best
Family Doesn’t Run Away, Family Cuddles
Friends Don’t Move On, They Stay Together
Tim hesitated a little but nodded silently and gripped his hands together.  Marinette wanted to scream, because of course he had abandonment issues.  She was going to kill whoever hurt her —she didn’t know who was older, she’d have to ask— brother in such a way.
“Tim, I promise that I will be back, and I’m not trying to get away from you.  I want to get to know you, I just need to take care of this, okay?”
Tim could feel tears stinging at the back of his eyes at her words.  How long had he been waiting for someone to say that to him?  That they weren’t going to run from him, that they would stay, that they actually would come back?
“Okay.”
Useful by @soulmate-game
Part 2
She had brought him to an abandoned area far from any activity, where a body would take ages to find. She had then disarmed herself of her only weapon, her magic suit, and had gotten on the ground in total submission.
She had purposely given him the perfect setting to kill her, where there would be no witnesses and plenty of time before her body would be found for him to escape. That realization hit Damian square the chest, leaving him breathless for a moment.
“I am not here to kill anybody,” he reiterated, his voice noticeably much gentler than before.
Day and Night by @unmaskedagain
“I think I’m doing both,” Marinette answered honestly. Her throat dry, and tears burning in her eyes. “Running away from everything, and still doing the right thing by leaving a bad situation.”
Tim nodded. He was in the same boat. “Where you coming from?” Though he figured France from her accent.
“Paris. And you?”
“Gotham.”
“No one waiting for you?” Marinette asked. He shook his head. “Me either. Aren’t we a pair?”
A Moment Too Late by @justcourttee
Part 2
The next time she would contact him would be her last. She tried to reach out, ask him if he was okay, but the sentiment only fueled his rage.
“Don’t you get it? I never wanted this bond! I begged you mercilessly to leave it alone. I begged you to shut up, but you just couldn’t could you? I lost everything because of you, you hear me Marinette? If you just would’ve shut your damn mouth, I would still be able to see my mother. I hope you never use this bond again, I never want to hear from you again.”
There was no response, but it didn’t bother him. This was what he wanted for so many years, for her to never utter a sound to him again. It was a blessed day, one filled with silence as he entered Wayne Manor for the very first time.
Remember some chapters are longer than others (个_个)

Half the time I'm like, "can we have jason todd media not all about his death"?
Then I realize. If I died I would never shut up about it.
"Can you get up and grab that for me?"- absolutely not. My legs are tired from death.
"Will you go to the store with me?"- leaving the house?!? What if I die AGAIN.
So yeah, anyone who thinks jason talks about his death too much. Be honest. We'd all do the exact same thing.

Reverse Robins AU is a fun concept, but I need more of that Jason POV angst.
If Tim and Jason are swapping roles (i.e. Tim dies and Jason is the third Robin), I need that focus on Jason's early Robin years.
Bruce, who's a grieving brutal man, would scare Jason. The violence, the coldness, and (if it's your flavor) the alcoholism. Bruce finds this child and, unlike for canon Jason, doesn't show him love and care.
So why does Jason stick around? Why would Jason put up with this behavior?
Bruce reminds Jason of a gnarly combination of Willis and Catherine.
The violence, the yelling, and the fear of a father figure are reminiscent of Willis. The lack of self-care, depressive spirals, and dissociative states are a messed up way Jason can see some of his mom again. Jason gets glimpses of his parents, but only in the worst sides of Bruce.
I want to see Jason tucking in Bruce and humming songs that would comfort his mom. Similar to when Catherine would forget or be unable to prepare food, Jason would ensure Bruce ate. He would chat lightly for hours to bring Bruce back from staring at Tim's case.
If Bruce is an alcoholic in this fic, Jason would be rubbing Bruce's back as he vomits. He would watch as Bruce poured another glass knowing he can't stop him.
When Bruce goes on a rampage, when he's screaming and hollering and throwing things, Jason would be hiding in his closet. Damian probably told Jason to call him when it gets like that (Damian can get Jason out of there if he can't stop it), but why would he? It's not like anyone was there for him before. It's not like calling for help led to him actually getting the assistance he needed. Instead, it usually led to the situation becoming worse.
So, despite the parentification (that's all that Jason's known), the kid stays. Bruce needs him after all. He eventually pulls Bruce away from the ledge. He finally gets a dad that doesn't cause his hands to tremble. Damian comes around more often and teaches Jason how to protect himself. Finally, the kid is Robin and able to help people (like how he saved Bruce).
Then Tim comes back from the dead.

Part 2!! I feel like every time I draw them they look different. It also doesn’t help that in the last part I forgot to add in Tim’s freckles but that’s okay we’ll just ignore that detail!

Saying Tim Drake and Gwen Stacy are bad people for Tim having an 'unrealistic' number of love interests and for Gwen having situationships with both Miles and Hobie is funny as hell actually. You think fictional traumatized teenagers are 'abusive' because they get more bitches than you?????

Since it’s 2024, I think it’s about time for my yearly PSA:
Hey, Hi 👋 in case it isn’t obvious, this is a Duke Thomas resource/archive blog, dedicated to raising awareness for Duke! I’ve got all sorts of great resources linked in my pinned post, including a Reading Rec list, FAQ, and info about our annual Duke Week! (& so much more!)
I want to especially encourage my followers to reblog this to help spread the word. I’m seeing more and more posts in Duke’s tag that are completely missing the mark when it comes to understanding Duke. One on hand, it’s great news bc that means more people are at least aware of duke (yaaaay)! On the other, it means he’s being subjected to fanon flanderization (boooo).
I want to encourage y’all because those kinds of posts are exactly why I made this blog in the first place. Duke is by FAR the easiest batfam member to read for. I’ve also curated a lot of great meta on him over the years & im always looking forward to adding more! Give this blog a follow, shoot me an ask, let’s learn more about Duke in 2024!!!

Unexpected Angel (1/4)
Marinette was exhausted. She thought working at Wayne Enterprise would be a dream come true. Every night she came home ready to pass out. It was getting to the point where she was forcing herself to eat before passing out.
'If only Carrie would leave me alone.'
Marinette was a new hire at Wayne Enterprise. She had been there for a month, when things took a turn for the worst. A lady name Carrie was assigned to their fashion sector. She wasn't a designer or working on any of the clothes; she was basically a secretary to Marinette's boss. She was suppose to get his coffee, make copies, and file things away for the future. For some reason, Carrie decided to dump her work load into her hands.
Marinette was now stuck doing the work of two. Once she had put papers to copy and Carrie had marched up and screamed at her.
"Where are the papers I gave you?" Carried yelled.
"They are getting copied." Marinette spoke.
"And you left them there?" Carrie shouted, "How could you be so irresponsible?"
"You never told me to stay with them. I'm busy-" Marinette began.
"Do I have to tell you how to do everything?" Carrie continued to berate her, "How did a nobody like you get hired in the first place?"
It had been a long day.
Marinette sat in a café close to the office. She had gotten a coffee, but if anything, she wanted a nap. She quickly sat up as someone took the seat across from her.
"Are you okay?" they asked.
Marinette sighed and took a gulp of her coffee, "It's been a long morning."
"Work?" he asked.
"One of my seniors at work keeps forcing me to do their job for her." Marinette confessed, "It's not even in my job description. She gets upset with me constantly. I can't really do or say anything because I'm a new hire. I would probably be replaced the next day. That lady has been there for five years."
Damian frowned as he listened to her.
'A lady who worked for them was forcing others to do her job for her. She's been there for five years and from how this person speaks, it doesn't sound like it was the first time.'
She sighed, "I've been so stressed out. I just want to sleep when I get home; I just feel drained, you know. I have had to force myself to eat when I get home. I'm too tired to even do that, but I know I have to eat."
'I need to figure out who this senior is and fast.'
"Trust me." Damian spoke, "That place is survival of the fittest. They won't fire you because you spoke your mind. Especially, if you were right."
"Thanks for the advice." she whispered, before smiling, "You know, I heard people in Gotham were rude and never really helped each other. Maybe, they just haven't met people like you, Stranger."
'She doesn't know who I am!'
"I never got your name." he spoke, as she stood up.
She smiled, "Marinette. Marinette Dupain-Cheng. And yours, my Guardian Angel?"
Damian smiled, "I think I'll keep the title you bestowed me."
Marinette giggled and quickly hurried back to the office.
Damian pulled out his phone, "Father, we have a situation in the fashion department. I'll be there in five minutes."

A lot of Helena stans have pointed out that solo Jason stans steal Helena's purely benelovent killer thing and you guys are 10000% right but as a Jason stan who actually reads comics i'd like to point out that on the flipside,Jason treats Roy like how they think Tim treats Stephanie

I'm not saying Jason attacking Tim titans tower is actually all that brutal, cause it's not. And physical fights aren't uncommon for siblings. And that you can make jokes about "peak sibling behavior" and that its funny.
But I hope the people saying this understand that siblings beating each other so badly they have scars and bruises that their parents should have intervened. Like. You understand that right. Children sending their siblings to the hospital is bad, and as a parent you need to do whatever you can to stop that. Do you get that.
