Kinda angst posting.

Do you ever think about how Tim looks up on John when John clearly tells Tim to keep his distance?

Tim’s “oh something like this wouldn’t happen to Constantine because he’s the best magician and my friend” vs John’s “if you know what’s good for you, lad, stay away” really got me, okay? Tim can’t know what’s going down in John’s mind when they talk but John could know exactly what has to go on in Tim but he can’t save them. John can’t even save himself. He has to keep his distance out of egoistic but also genuine reasons.
