Ket's start off this location with a bang by taking a look at the basement which including a tiki bar as well as an elaborate model train set up!!
Along a scenic road lies this incredible time capsule house with everything left behind. This large home built in 1956 features interior design elements from the 70s including shag carpeting in the bedrooms, a carpeted wall in the primary bedroom, appliances from the same era and even an Asian themed tiki bar/room in the basement. There are a number of personal items left behind as well from clothing, to photos and even letters from the children to their father.
The Home was owned by a German man named Hans. He was born in 1923, and he married a woman named Emma at a relatively young age. Hans was a school teacher by profession, teaching at a nearby school. He was a hard worker and was always furthering his education, as seen in a number of certificates found throughout the home. I believe he also had a small business selling renewable energy sources such as, solar panels and wind turbines which he operated out of a separate part of the home. In his spare time he liked to build and maintain his elaborate model train display in the basement.
He and his wife Emma enjoyed travelling and did so often until finally deciding to settle down. They had two children, Adele and Michael. They led an idyllic life for a few years but as time went on cracks began to emerge in the marriage. Emma decided it was time to leave and she moved with their children a couple of hours away from Hans.
Hans moved on and met a woman named Ida. Michael would occasionally send letters to Hans and from what I read, they did not have the best relationship. Michael being very religious, was always optimistic they would see each other during the holidays but from the sounds of the letters, that likely didn't happen. He was also upset about the fact that his father did not call him regularly. In one of the letters Michael said that after a phone call with his father, he was scared to death of visiting him after speaking his mind. Emma did not get along well with her ex husband and this likely played a role in the ability for the children to visit with their father as well.
Life continued on for both families until Hans passed away in 1980, he was only 57. Ida lived in the home until at least 1983 as seen in a handwritten letter from Michael addressed to her. At some point after that, Ida moved to Pennsylvania since she likely had friends/family there. The house has sat abandoned ever since.
Emma passed away a few years ago but I have not been able to find out any information about Adele. Michael however spent a lot of time in school training to work in a religious related field. He had inherited a strong work ethic from his father, reminiscing about how Saturdays were work days and how that impacted his life. He has since found a very rewarding and successful career in religion.

Untouched, completely original, time capsule. 1973 mid-century modern in Jacksonville, Florida. 5bds, 4ba, $899K + $238mo. HOA.
This must've been the epitome of dramatic entrances. If there's one thing they loved in those years, it was spindles.
Spindles everywhere. Knotted, pilled shag carpet makes me cringe, though, b/c it looks kind of sticky, and there won't be any hardwood flooring under it, either.
The house does get a lot of natural light. This is the dining room. The carpet looks like it needs mowing.
Vaulted ceiling in the rec room. Looks like they left a few doodads, for the new owner. I like the cat.
Brick wet bar in the rec room. That's a great feature.
Large eat-in kitchen.
Original with new appliances. Not sure I like the stained glass over the sink- You can't see outside.
In the pantry, there's an ironing board in the wall.
Wow, look at that sink vanity.
Looks like you're stuck with a gun safe in this bedroom, unless the owners plan to remove it later.
One of the baths. Ewww, they all have carpet around the toilets.
The bedrooms are pretty spacious.
This shower room has the typically fashionable, at the time, molded shell sink.
Check out the chandie in the primary bedroom.
Shiny gold en-suite.
It also has a sitting room.
Plus a walk-in closet.
Garage and lots of parking.
They never put in a patio and there's plenty room for a pool on the .69 acre lot.
Looks like most of the property is out front, though.

Turns out the hardest part of translating isn't understanding the vid but instead how to put it into English correctly without losing the meaning or just displaying my poor linguistic skill in my native language. I'm sure Tenno can probably word it better and drag me thru the street but this will do for now l ma o

Asked my stepdad if he had any old magazines I could borrow to scan (his house is quite literally a museum for the 80s and 90s) and he said he “might have some old junky ones” then proceeded to come in CLUTCH with the JcPenney and Sears Christmas catalogs for `1995 and 1997

This is one of my favorite homes. I posted it before and apparently, it has never sold. They have been listing it, removing it b/c it didn't sell, changing the price, relisting and removing, since 2020. It's a 1905 Spanish Eclectic, which is very unusual, and it's in Kansas City, Missouri. 3bds, 3ba, $500K. Check out this unique & funky time capsule.
We begin in the spacious living room. The walls are probably in need of at least some color, but that's a lot of wallpaper to remove.
Check out the tile on the fireplace and the mirror art above.
Moving to the dining room, the wood kind of looks like craftsman style and there's a low window seat.
The kitchen is completely frozen in time.
There's even a pantry.
The great thing is that there's a door to the pantry in the main floor primary bedroom- so convenient for a late night snack.
And, at the foot of the stairs is a sink.
On the 2nd fl. is a very large bedroom with double doors to the sun room.
The sun room is gigantic. This home has such big rooms.
This would be the smallest bedroom.
At some point, within the last 50yrs, this bath was redone.
This room I cannot explain. It's on the main floor, off the living room, and it's sort of a foyer that has spiral stairs that go down to the basement. It was also made to look like the bridge of a ship. It's so cool and needs to be decorated as such.
The basement is definitely the star of the show. There's a vast rec room with wainscoting and a fireplace. The colorful tile is original. Note the small tile of a champagne glass.
Check out the bar. There's a vintage fan mounted to the ceiling and a brass foot rest. Oh, and 2 little music notes in the floor.
There's a billiard room. I wonder if the pool table conveys, b/c it perfectly matches the style of the house.
This is a home for entertaining. The laundry room has cabinetry for lots of storage. It's big enough for a second kitchen.
In this area is the half bath and stairs to the back yard.
But, this is the coolest room of all. It's a freshly painted indoor pool and look at the original vintage filter.
Look at this thing- there's only one way in and out. It's basically a basement you could fill with water. It has windows and they've delineated approximately how high the water should go, although it looks too high. There're also 2 rather dim looking lights above. This is so bizarre.
And, this is the dressing room and former shower for the pool.
There's a big driveway and garages for 3 cars.
Nice size yard and patio.
What are those stains on the roof? The lot is .28 acre.

ok I got something to say abt house md and that's that it has a whole episode (THE SECOND EVER EPISODE) concerned with how House's disability connects him to his work. And it is a fucking THESIS STATEMENT of an episode!!!
It says outright: The key to the mystery of this episode is that a child was adopted, and the love between him & the parents was strong.
It says, having put together multiple story acts: we'll throw you a bone of a conclusion statement: House misses playing rugby. The patient is a young rugby player, who before House's help would have developed full blown measles. He goes to see the kid play a game when he's better.
It says: Birth parents will refuse to protect their children in the most basic of ways (vaccination), and be offended you told them to protect their child
there's also the running joke, which concludes with: even though House's methods are wacko and rude, he uses the joke to pay for the cost of the test needed to crack the case.
also, flip side, it is pretty racist when House keeps doing racist things 'ironically' but then justifies his conclusions with some other """big brained misunderstood scientist man""" explaination, and Foreman is shown speaking up about the racism, and then is dismissed? by the episode plot? as if he could never understand House's super-smart-brain-time. of course House isn't being racist!!! he's too smart for that!!! 🤪
So! 2nd episode, wow I can't believe I still remember this show (a decade after watching it for the first time) and wow it sure had an opinion on everything! I forgot how preachy shows were in the early 2000s. That post 9/11 propaganda was everywhereeee and those writing patterns were inescapable.
