It’s after midnight and I’m super tired but can’t sleep. My neck is aching but I’m trying to avoid pain pills. So I’m going to try and get my mind off of it by writing what I’m grateful for.

1.) My sweet, loving, funny kid.

2.) My family. (Some of them. lol.)

3.) Friends that check in.

4.) Steve the Cat.

5.) A comfortable, lovely home.

6.) My body - when it cooperates.

7.) Living close to nature and so many beautiful areas.

8.) My health care team.

9.) Books.

10.) My daily walks

Today, I’m really grateful for music. It has the ability to change my mood so quickly.

When I’m down, I’ll put on some happy tunes. Occasionally, I’ll pull out the guitar but unfortunately it aggravates the neck. I’ve got a few acoustics (and an electric bass) but I’m seriously considering getting a 1/2 size. Would be easier to play and less of a strain, I think. Maybe. Possibly. Anyway, it’s an option. The other day I helped Ella to write a song on the guitar for their class and I was very uncomfortable. Here’s hoping the surgery helps with that.

Anyway, if I’m really sitting in a low mood, I break out the “guilty pleasure” songs. This is the musical cheese that I’d never normally admit to liking. lol. When I’m in a funk, they’re hard to resist. They’re just easy to jam out to or even sing along. As a result, they bring my spirits back up. Ah, the power of music. I’ll post some cheese below (you’re welcome). I apologize in advance if you don’t agree but I’m not saying these songs are bad… I’m just saying they’re so bad they’re good. (Just be grateful I didn’t put Disco Duck on the list. lol.)
