Ninjago knows how to write really good likable villains and how to write good dislikable villains

Take the serpentine for example: they’re so funny and Scales was very redeeming in later seasons and Pythor was an amazing villain but also incredibly funny and enjoyable to watch

on the other hand we have my most hated villain nadakan: he just is a creep for wanting to marry nya and is insanely power hungry

and we also have kalmar from seabound who I absolutely despise

but most of the villains I really like bc they’re either funny or have redeemable qualities

like captain soto with his peg leg and “pajama men” and Ronan just bc he’s a good character and enjoyable to watch interact with everyone else

the overlord was not my favorite villain but also not my least favorite he was just meh like he was there for a good plot and a good villain fight but his first few appearances weren’t my favorite when he came back in crystallized was my personal fav appearance of him

also chen I just hate that man he’s so fucking annoying

once again harumi is an amazing villain and a much darker character which I enjoy bc it adds some flavor to the show that older kids enjoy when younger kids don’t see the underlying theme

personally undead garmadon is my fav version of him just because there’s this certain ruthlessness to him that is just much more enjoyable to watch and it also puts a strain on Lloyd which makes his character arcs much more important

the oni aren’t too big of a plot point but they aren’t my favorite villains either they just didn’t add anything to the story

time twins are in the middle too they were enjoyable to watch interact with each other and the ninja but I just didn’t really like the season all that much it was a great season for Kai and nya since their parents and all but other than that it wasn’t my fav

king whatever his name is the one from the season with cole’s mom wasn’t my fav either he was just super annoying I wanted to punch him in the face

esphira was an okay villain definitely not my favorite either she was also pretty annoying with her whole revenge thing

those are all of the main villains I can think of but if I’m missing any pls feel free to tell me but yeah that’s my rant on ninjago villains

I think for my Morro lives au I'm probably gonna kinda rewrite some of the seasons just, ynkow for the fun of it.

And by probably I mean I've thought about it too much at this point not to.

I just really enjoy coming up with stuff like this okay? My excuse is that the ones I'd rewrite so to speak are all post DotD aka Morro's there so uhhh, it's his fault things are different. (It's a weak excuse I know but let me have this pls).

To start even tho it's not technically a season there's definitely gonna be a larger time gap between DotD and s7 than in canon. So that there's actually some time wherein the ninja are actually liveing in the airjitzu temple and have a chance to start to bond with Morro (and Yang) before things go crazy with the Time Twins.

I'd like to do something with Hands of Time tho I'm not entirely sure what yet. I just think there's so much potential there. I'd really love to just take Krux and Acronix and their time powers and go crazy with it. Time as an elemental power is just so interesting and has so much potential.

One of the things I'm thinking about right now is kinda condensing most of the season and then like extending the end of it if that makes sense? Like really delve into the actual time traveling part. Give Kai and Nya some good focus (maybe just a tad more towards Kai than Nya cuz that just feels right for this season, but definitely still some good Nya focus). Give Krux and Acronix a proper ending to their story. I think Wu would definitely still end up lost in time by the end because that starts to set up s8.

Another thought I've had is what would happen if Krux and Acronix got their powers back? Like not just through the time blades but they could actually wield their powers like they used to (maybe even with a little power boost for reasons >:) (I just wanna make them super powerful and dangerous, okay?)

There's a post somewhere that I saw once talking about how cool it'd have been if for s7 we got like Kai getting trapped in the past and helping the elemental alliance defeat Krux and Acronix the first time meanwhile Nya's still in the present with the others fighting Krux and Acronix then with like a dual perspective like in Hunted with a focus and Kai and Nya's relationship and the two of them trying to get back to each other. I'd love to find the post again cuz it was a really neat concept.

Anyways if ya'll wanna here more of my thoughts abouts the other seasons I'm planning to play around with (mostly seabound & crystalized) or more thoughts about Hands of Time or even just Morro's presence in any of the seasons feel free to let me know I love to talk about my au :D

You have no idea how much I want Ninjago to have a prequel season or series that dates back to the Serpentine War Era when the og elemental alliance was still around.

There is SO MUCH STUFF that wasn't really elaborated on. We literally only saw Jay's mum like once during season 7, and we don't even really know why she abandoned Jay. Most of the og elemental alliance members never even spoke, we literally know nothing about them - plus I would love to see more of Acronix and Krux in hopes they get better treatment than they did in season 7 💀

I really wanna know if it's just me who really wants this to happen one day. Please tell me I'm not 😭

Just had a ninjago au idea where when the time twins changed the past to make the present all "old timey" they were defeated but the changes stayed. So Zane is just dead, as well as Pixal and all other droids, and everyone is freaking out and trying to fix things.
