This week has been a bit insane workwise.
Then you add in the self inflicted wound of me buying a new SSD to put inside my home rig. (I refuse to try to do real work on a tablet or phone...I just cant do it) Now, after I rebuilt my computer for its semi-annual refresh of the operating system of my Beast (below). I decided its time to upgrade a 128GB SSD for the OS to a 500GB to support more VMs. This machine has four drives in it...yes four.
500 GB SSD for OS
1000 GB SSD for Games
1000 GB Standard Drive for Cloud Storage
4000 GB Standard Drive for Data Storage
Now I finally am getting to get outside to do some leather...I think :)

some study breaks
finally on rest time. some little study breaks for when you’re in the thick of your assessment time and your brain stops sense-making:
lie down for two minutes - seriously just lie down and close your eyes or stare at the ceiling.
do nothing but listen to a song - i like to pop earphones in and listen to something slow and mellow, while just sitting or lying on the ground.
nap for ten minutеs - pretty stock standard. don’t go too long otherwise you’ll start really wanting more sleep time...
check the mail - move those limbs and do something that’s gotta be done.
put on a podcast and go for a lil run - running is my escape lol. recommended podcast: tiny meat gang. don’t need to run fast or long, just get yours life moving. even just go for a stroll.
make a mug cake - so many different recipes online (sometimes i wanna be healthy but sometimes- layer on that golden stuff, find one you feel like) and cooking is naice. five minutes taken to create something of your own, and you get to enjoy it. pretty satisfying feeling.
quick random yoga - even if you’ve never done yoga before, little sessions like yoga with adriene’s ‘yoga at the desk’ mean you don’t even need to leave your chair if you want. get the blood flowing homie.
take out the trash - once again, limbs moving and productive.
read one page of something that’s not schoolwork - literally anything. i like reading some of my picture books from when i was younger. still greatly enjoy them.
watch an episode of pingu - five minutes (perfect length) and it’s- pingu.
stick your head outside for a minute - put your head out the window or the balcony door or whatever and just b r e a t h e . listen to what’s going on outside around you. another tip: always have fresh air in your room when studying.
relocate to the library/go back home - the commute serves as a nice break and a change of scenery can help keep you going if you’re stuck in a rut, you can try working again once you’ve relocated and see if that helps.
have a shower - study crisis mode can sometimes mean that your shower and hygiene patterns go out the window. treat a shower as a study break. i like to start off with a warm shower to relax for a bit and then finish with pure cold water. cold water = focus and alertness. use a nice scrub or somethin.
touch your toes and then reach up for the sky - rip my posture lol.
show your pet some love - our lil buddies are all kinds of stress relief, and don’t forget about them x
brew a cuppa - i am currently digging green tea or hot chocolate. chuck in a slice of lemon if you’re feeling fancy (in the green tea, not the hot chocolate, you goose).
find a karaoke video on youtube and go at it - need i say more? bonus points for choreography.
lie upside down - hang upside down off the edge of your bed or your couch. trust me. idk why this is my favourite thing to do.
